Andi I saw your thoughts on the st/pjo parents list and yes. However, I offer you my rough au (that is very low on my list of things I Might write eventually bc I write v slow and never finish anything):

Will & Mike as childhood friends who grow distant after Mike starts going to some summer camp that Will apparently isn't allowed to go to. Aka demigod!Mike (and the rest of the party) + very mortal Will (and Jonathan. And Nancy. But about them) who doesn't know about and of the mythological world

But!!! It's actually clear-sighted Will (who always had True Sight) who just thinks he's going crazy/ having hallucinations/ PTSD and it's not real (it is). And then Will gets pulled in (like Rachel Dare) and keeps getting involved in all of Mike's quests (much to Mike's chagrin) and ends up WAYYY too involved in it

I really love pjo like you have a great taste in AUs (you have too many AUs Andi I'm actually gonna try and be responsible and tell you to Not write more AUs.... Unless? No no I'm jkjk.... Unless?)

i LOVE this oh my god!!! mike goes to this summer camp and then suddenly he comes back and he's just... different. he's never hidden things from will, because friends don't lie, right? but will knows mike, and he knows when his best friend is lying. and so just that hurt and that distance, and mike wants to tell him, except he knows that this world is way too dangerous for will and it's mike. he's not gonna do anything that puts will in danger, right?

and god just like imagine there's some great prophecy or whatever that involves a mortal and all of CHB is like? wtf? how? and mike gets pulled into the prophecy some way or another and then when will joins this world and mike starts to put the puzzle pieces together that oh shit, will could very well be that mortal in the prophecy? he panics. he tries to push will away even more, because he can't let will be in danger, right? he can't let will get dragged into all of this, even though will is stubborn and will wants to be part of all of this and wants to be part of mike's life again.

(bonus points for the byler angst of el being a demigod and she becomes will's step-sister still? and like. the mike/el relationship. of course mike would want to date a demigod. why would he ever want will? will, who is never going to be able to understand mike's world fully. will, who isn't special like mike and like el and like mike's demigod friends. will, who is different but not good enough to truly, fully be part of this world with mike because yeah he can see through the mist but he's not a demigod. will, who has no idea that he is special and that he is the other side of the coin to mike's prophecy, and that together the two of them are going to save the world.)
