Hey, sorry if this is rude, but are you a system? And, if that's the case, could you explain what that's like? I'd like to learn about it, but I'd like the input from someone with it if possible

Oh not rude at all, so yeah im a median system alongside Hayle here, which means we are essentially two sides of the same coin.

We are similar enough that in reality i never noticed her becuase whenever i felt like her i just chalked it up to feeling good about myself for 'no reason today'

Its a difficult thing to describe, I'm not the best at putting it into words. But maybe this will help

Growing up my mind was a constant jumble of contradictions, now that i know that me and Hayle have always been here but speaking to eachother subconsciously, that jumble is being unknit and categorised. I know which thoughts are mine and which are hers and we both are alot calmer as a result. It no longer feels like there is something bubbling under the surface waiting to explode out becuase now she can just come out whenever she wants without needing extreme emotions to push though.

It also feels like i have caring but mischievous big sister floating around with me, and shes certainly lived up to that. Behind the scenes during my break she took the front for days and days in a row to get me to rest for real and it was fantastic, i couldn't be happier having her here even if she drives me crazy sometimes

⭐i can make a very rich icebox pie (also known as no-bake cheesecake) and i just can't stop going back for seconds each time i make some! it's even better with dried fruits mixed in~ ~w~ 💠icecream! :D if u got an ice creaming machine @ home u can make homemade icecream w/ eggnog! v tasy! 🌙Hard to decide, but I noticed everything I like involves dark chocolate, so there's that. It's more of a snack, but I also like granny smith apple slices with peanut butter. 🗝️i really enjoy cake-like breads, such as zucchini bread or banana bread. c: there's also a spices-only variant called covenstead i ought try to bake again someday. the ice cream bread trick makes a nice shortcut on making them. c: 🗡️strawberry shortcake, the ol southern way wit buttermilk biscuits. if not that, fresh fruit will do, ain't too picky wit most. ❌energy drinks. ❤️aye, our partners~ aheheh, jokes aside, ain't really got th chance ta try much out, but been keen the refreshing ones like italian ice n' jello~

Yes.

Endogenic systems exist, and they only differ in the means by which they occur from traumagenic ones.

Compartmentalization and dissociation are incredibly common things to do as a response to trauma, which are how systems happen to come to be. This means that anyone good enough at the two (which can be practiced) can, alone or with help, form system members - headmates, tulpas, anything you want to call them - without experiencing trauma.

Again, the only thing that differs are the means by which plurality is achieved, and in some cases (but for any way to get there) the intentionality of doing so.

Daryl Talks Games mentions tulpas in the "What Artificial Romance Does To People" video (which, be warned, does reference Harry Potter, which made us bounce off it. We were shown by a friend the following) and quotes researchers saying:

"The impact of trauma and the resulting function-imparing symptoms are what make Dissociative Identity Disorder a disorder, not the plurality itself."

In short? Yes, you can be plural.

Hey uh, not sure if there's anything to elaborate on wrt the "wanting to be plural is a symptom of being plural" post, but is that true? Because I've been avoiding that possibility, if only because I've been so sure that it isn't a possibility. I don't really know what I'm saying here it's just, could that post really be true?

So we thought we were the only ones selling this kind of perspective to people, but recently pluralrespect on neocities (which we already liked re: intrasys relationships) started including something similar, but with more structure.

It breaks down like this: Singlets choose to interpret their personal experiences as being one person. It gets privileged as the default because that's how we're socialised, but a (usually unconscious) choice is being made to view all their experiences - including kinda plural-coded stuff like code switching, masking, genderfluidity, weird dreams, varying vibes day-on-day, internal conflict, etc - as representing a singular identity.

There are also a lot of people who's experiences can't realistically be interpreted singletwise - folks that experience switches with totally separate memory is an extreme example. The plural explanation is the only thing that makes any sense of it at all.

This creates this big grey area that encompasses all those interpreted-singlets with kinda-plural experiences, and those interpreted-plurals who could reasonably interpret themselves as singlets (again) if they wanted to. Within this grey area, you have the wiggle room to observe your personal experiences, and conceptualise your identity one way, or the other way.

One of those ways might feel more "right" to you, more sensical, more comfortable, safer - so in that sense, yeah. wanting to be plural is a symptom of being plural. Fantasising about what it would be like to understand yourself in the other way is probably a sign that you should try it - see how thinking of yourself that way feels, just for a day or whatever. If it's too weird, go back. If not, keep going.

Now, letting yourself have an open mind may invite experiences that make a singlet interpretation less sensible - so only test the waters if both possible conclusions are safe for you to have. Outside of that, you can always change your mind - so, give it a shot.
