Part of me wants to just say I'm a system but the other part still doesn't want to say what I'm not completely sure about

I get that, when I first discovered my system I was hesitant to say anything. I was diagnosed a year ago, but I’ve known for about 5 years. I was in a safe place and some headmates came forward to me

It can be hard, because so much of the system community fake claims, especially without a diagnosis. But it took me years to get that diagnosis, years to be believed. Not everyone can get that, especially when underage, as parents are often the cause of the system in the first place.

It’s ok to call yourself a system, with proper research and understanding, of course. Self diagnosis is valid and can honestly be so helpful, as acknowledging your system can help start the healing process

To all questioning systems, I believe you, it’ll be ok. And it’s ok to be wrong too, you can call yourself a system and be wrong. Sometimes you start off thinking it’s one thing, than learn it’s another thing

Go with your gut, work with your other parts if you can! You got this <3

Howdy!

So, we Eklesians actually have a YouTube channel. Nothing is uploaded there but we do have a channel.

Not quite sure how to start off uploading to the channel to be honest. We'd love to do a series of alter intros but only AFTER we've introduced ourselves. We suck at script-writing for videos and are even worse talking to a camera (on the whole, I'm sure some of us would be better than others at this) but we could definitely try to whip up an introduction and put together a few basic questions.

So uh, if anyone has any questions besides the USUAL stuff a system would think to say about themselves online, ask 'em here and we'll do our best to honor them in a video. So long as they're made in good faith of course. :> Really nothing is off the table except for triggers.

We've been thinking about it for a while, and we've finally decided to commit to rebranding our system! Being a polyfragmented system where fictives from all kinds of places and alternate universes are the absolute majority, and since our system is generally regarded by our headmates as a safe and comfortable community to be a part of, it only seems fitting that our name reflects that, as well as my - as the host's - appreciation for all of them. Hey anon, great question

Yes, alters can end up having different roles. For example, we had a host a long time ago that had to stop being host because fronting was just too traumatic and triggering for him. We've also had protecters or caretakers become gatekeepers because of a few reasons - they're the only ones able to handle what we need at the moment, our head gatekeepers need more help, and things like that. There are other examples. and it really is system specific as to who changes/does what, but short answer, yes, alters can end up having/changing roles.

How does living as a system work? like...do you all agree on one life goal for the body and work towards it or like how do you figure that out

We can't speak for each system, but for us, we have an intensely immersive inner world that most of us live our lives through. Think of it like a more fantasy-based version of Second Life running constantly in the background for the alters that aren't fronting.

We have alters that have little to no interest in fronting because they have careers, friend groups, spouses, children, and their own conflicts to deal with in the headspace. In fact, the majority of our alters don't really seem to know they're alters and have no idea how their life is dependent on a single body on the outside.

Imagine if you, with all the history you've lived, ancestors that came before you, days at work, your own individual thoughts and complex social life, found out you were essentially a sentient coping mechanism of one of your coworkers, friend of a friend, or cousins. It'd be a bit mind-breaking. So, we more or less leave them to it.

When you have alters that front at least part time, like Xanthe, Rune, Cinder, Oscar, Kaspar, etc. They generally have a vested interest in protecting the host, Sparrow, or at least keeping him/the body alive so that they may partake in their own hobbies and goals, which are generally parallel. For example, the host's primary goal right now is saving their partner from an abusive situation in another state. This partner is also Xanthe's best friend, who will be able to contribute to cost of living expenses so Xanthe can travel more often and have a best friend nearby to keep them company, which is their goal. The host and co-host being content, my life will be more peaceful. Rune will be able to read and indulge in her hobbies more often. Kaspar and Oscar will be able to travel with Xanthe, Cinder can---Well, I was never clear on what Cinder wants, but I imagine she's tired of the near-misses and crises too.

And, the most simple agreement is, the more you want out of the outerworld, the more you have to deal with it. Sparrow wants a spouse, he has to clean the living room and call the power company when something goes awry and all that. Xanthe lost their chance for that sort of life on the outside, so is building their inworld life and is less obligated to maintain the outerworld.

I imagine if Sparrow's goals didn't work out for everyone, like if no one else liked his partner or we wanted to keep living alone, we'd have quite a lot more conflict. But Sparrow getting what he wants will also objectively make our lives easier, so, you know, of course I'd be willing to help.

⭐i can make a very rich icebox pie (also known as no-bake cheesecake) and i just can't stop going back for seconds each time i make some! it's even better with dried fruits mixed in~ ~w~ 💠icecream! :D if u got an ice creaming machine @ home u can make homemade icecream w/ eggnog! v tasy! 🌙Hard to decide, but I noticed everything I like involves dark chocolate, so there's that. It's more of a snack, but I also like granny smith apple slices with peanut butter. 🗝️i really enjoy cake-like breads, such as zucchini bread or banana bread. c: there's also a spices-only variant called covenstead i ought try to bake again someday. the ice cream bread trick makes a nice shortcut on making them. c: 🗡️strawberry shortcake, the ol southern way wit buttermilk biscuits. if not that, fresh fruit will do, ain't too picky wit most. ❌energy drinks. ❤️aye, our partners~ aheheh, jokes aside, ain't really got th chance ta try much out, but been keen the refreshing ones like italian ice n' jello~

We pretty much all can find some sort of video game we like, and weirdly literally all of us like bowling specifically? I couldn't tell you why for either of these considering we vary so much in age and personality, but you haven't lived until you see the 60 something year old very stoic man get really into Hollow Knight.

Art is a big one right now, specifically for me (the host), but I can't bring myself to actually draw? Just create sketches for cool ideas I hope I'll draw sometime. And Monster High for me and B, except it isn't streaming anywhere 😭 so I'm living vicariously through tiktok clips and of course the dolls themselves.

This one is tricky lol, so if you count "basically ancient despite acting and looking to be in his 30s", then it's 👼 who's a literal angel. If you count technically over 100 but is an introject of someone who more or less found the "pool of life" and both acts and looks more like a man in his late 20's, you get ☕️. If you count by internal body age only, you get HB, who is in his 60s.

🌊: I'm pretty meh, work was shit as per usual, but we're getting more staff soon so positives?? I love merman and dolphins, but also ravens. I love autumn bc aesthetic and spooky season lmao. I do love drawing, but there's something about singing (and certain people singing iykyk) that just makes me feel some kinda way

🎤: I'm pretty good, watching Nate freak out over the new album has been.. interesting. Considering I'm partially based on the guy that made said album. It's kinda endearing in a way, it's lowkey adorable (do not tell them I said that, haha). As for animals, there's just something about black cats, whether panthers or domesticated indoor cats. Black coated animals in general, I agree with Nate on crows. And as with my source, I tend to prefer music/singing, I feel like certain concepts and ideals can only really be expressed through music.

As for witchy tips, if you're just getting into your craft, try perusing different branches of magic and see what feels right! It took quite a while for me to land on crystal magic, and even longer for Lord Lucifer and Lady Selene to take notice of me

What are foods y'all would like to try one day? And what are foods you recommend to people who never ate them before?

Alters in my system keep wanting to try new foods but I (the host) am suuuuper picky about what we eat lol (autism thingy we have)

I’m not sure maybe um, I’m not sure.

Maybe three cheese make & cheese with chicken nuggets? It’s very good +it’s one of our comfort foods, or pizza bites we recommend the normal cheese ones!

I can understand the second part, some of the other alters want to try new food but because of our autism and if the texture isn’t right or so we won’t eat it, or if it’s not cooked properly (like it’s not crunchy if it’s meant to be crunchy)

Do you know any fun facts about horses?

For example,

Arabian horses have less ribs than every other horse breed and less lumbar vertebraes thanks to what they are more "wiggly", easier to bend.

Horses can eat beetroot, watermelon and bananas. Ofc everything in controlled amount.

Horses don't have collarbones.

They can't vomit

In the wild horses tend to eat all the time while walking what makes them eat for almost 16 hours a day.

Horses have almost 360 vision. They can't see under their neck and behind them. The clearest vision is in a triangle right in front of them. On the sides to their body they see blurry

In natural habitat horses don't trot, it's humans' idea.

Horses can feel humans' emotions and really often reflect them in their own behaviour
