You know what puzzles me? Angel Dust’s pole dancing ability in Hazbin Hotel.
In pole dancing, the dancers wear so little because gripping the pole requires skin to pole contact. If you are covered in cloth, you will slip off. But Angel is covered in fur, so in theory he would slip off too. Does he grip with his gloves and boots? Does he do mostly floor work, which often doesn’t require grip? Or does he have some unique spider ability that allows him to grip in spite of his fur? 🤔
Like here, if his fur causes slippage he is likely only gripping with the top hands, which are gloved…but the gloves would need to be made from a fabric that would allow for pole grip and it would still be tough with the exposed fingers, which are covered in fur. It’s clear he can do at least some aerial work, which brings me back to the question of whether or not he has some kind of innate ability to grip/climb objects like a spider.
Here we see Angel using his thighs to grip the pole after he escaped Nifty. This is a common pose for performers, but again, if his fur causes slippage then he would be gripping solely with his hands, which are gloved. That would imply that his gloves are made from a pole friendly material. Or, the pole itself is made from something that allows more grip. Or, Angel is in fact gripping with his thighs, which would imply that his fur doesn’t cause slippage—which goes back to the spider climb theory.
Curious to see what others think. Will the tenants of the hotel look up one day and see Angel chilling on the wall like Peter Parker? 😂
