so I had a dream last night where [a person I love] was tenderly doing my nails and it got me thinking, because everything I think of these days is pit babe and because Kim (well Benz but you understand) has SUCH nice nails: one of his boys doing his nails. filing, shaping, smoothing, painting. maybe a little hand massage.

the act of service makes me think Kenta (he'd be so gentle and careful about it) but also Dean wears rings in a way that makes me think he understands the importance of nice hands. plus the opportunity for praise: doing a neat and tidy job, when he picks a nice colour. maybe he learns how to do cool designs?

(the only part of the process winner is interested in is the scratches that can be left with said nails)

I can see the little crease between Kenta’s eyebrows from concentrating so hard on doing a good job 🥹 But oh yes, Dean strikes me as someone who could really get into doing nails! He’d do it with a smile on his face because it’s something he finds fun (and yes praise kink), and he’d think about Kim when he’s out at the store and sees a color that matches Kim’s jacket. And nail art yes! Little black and white checkered racing nails 🏁🥺

I know exactly what you mean about associating everything to Pit Babe 😩 I was at the store earlier and I saw a dartboard and IMMEDIATELY envisioned Winner and Kenta smoking and playing darts at the bar!! Kim and Dean join in sometimes (and those are the loudest and most entertaining games), but it’s usually just the two of them and it becomes a little bonding ritual of theirs.

Winner doesn’t really stand a chance against Kenta’s precision, but he enjoys trying anyways. One game, he starts catching up, and he’s all ready to start trash talking until he notices that Kenta’s aim has been drifting—and when he looks over, he sees the ghost of a smile tugging at the corner of Kenta’s mouth, which has Winner swearing at him (he’s still smiling though) coz he knows Kenta did it just to get on his nerves, because Kenta can go easy on him and still win. (And if Kenta shakes in silent laughter, will Winner’s poor heart even survive)

Anyways it just makes Winner decide to show Kenta how he really likes to win—sabotage (feeling Kenta up while he tries to stay focused).

It echoes off the high ceilings and brings a smile to both boys faces.  “OH!” Bella says suddenly, grabbing two shock faced teenagers and dragging them upstairs. “Wait till you see the bed!”  - Bella’s right, the bed is great. But Jacob’s pretty sure that has more to do with the heated, panting body between him and Edward than it does the size of the mattress or the thread count of the sheets.  Though it was Bella’s idea to ‘tour’ Edward’s room, it was collectively their combined decision to soak up the moment they were all alive, healed, and alone.  Both boys have lost their shirts and Bella is only in her underwear, lying between them as they make out. Bella’s pushing her tongue into Jacob’s mouth, moaning every time Jacob’s hand squeezes her hip or Edward’s teeth brush across the bare skin of her neck. It’s more than a little obvious by the way she’s pushing her ass against Edward’s dick she wants this to go further.  “I think you were onto something Jake,” Bella says with a panting chuckle when Jacob finally releases her mouth. “Told ya,” Jake brags and Edward rolls his eyes.

“Lovely! I’m home!” I threw my keys in the bowl on the shoe cabinet, kicking off my sneakers by the door.

No sound came to respond. They would usually come bounding down the stairs the moment they heard the door open, and even as they heard the keys, now with extra-sensitive hearing.

But no one came.

I peered down the hallway—maybe they were showering. But the main bathroom door was open, and there was no sound of running water. There was no one in the kitchen either. Sam wasn’t home. He had a meeting with his King, and Vincent was still roped into some dinner party with a SkySide client.

“Lovely! Where are you?” Still, no reply came. Did they go out? The sun had just set not too long ago—they should’ve been home for the majority of the day. I live with two old bloods and a new blood… when was the last time they fed?

I checked the rooms, even peering under the bed of the guest room and the pantry.

“Lovely! Are you asleep?” I lowered my voice and knocked on the closed door of our shared bedroom. “Lovely?”

The bed was empty.

God dammit.

Under the bed? Just an abandoned shoe, probably Vincent’s. I smelled the anxiety creeping in, slipping in under my skin and raising the hairs on my forearms.

Where were they?

“Lovely, if you’re trying to scare me, you’re doing a damn good job of doing it…”

This was like trying to find the newborns when they were getting used to the magic all over again.

Damn it, Tank. Calm down.

Just. Feel for where they are. You’ve bridged before. Feel for their aura… a vampire aura, this time around… it should be easy. You’ve been living with three for months…

I caught the thread. Drifting to me like the scent of a meatloaf would to a hungry stray. I followed the trail, its power growing stronger by the step, until I ended up outside the bathroom door in the bedroom suite.

I knocked, barely loud enough for someone with normal hearing to catch. "Lovely?" I whispered. "You in there?"

I peered at the foot of the door. There wasn't a slit of light in the small gap, but I could feel them. "Lovely." I set my hand on the handle. "I know you're in there."

"Can I come in...? It's okay if you want some space, I'll stay out here." A small shuffle, a shift in the air.

The handle turned on its own, and I retreated from the door, until the back of my legs hit the bed. The bathroom was dark, but I could see the faint shadow of them moving about.

Damn it, Lovely. It's... dark.

"I'm gonna come in, Lovely, alright? If you want me to stop, just say something and I'll get out and give you some space."

I stepped into the bathroom gingerly, ignoring the darkness that reminded me way too much of Washington. The light from outside illuminated the far wall. I reached the end, where their aura was filling up the entire space. The shower curtain was closed. I tapped our handshake pattern across the nylon. "You okay?"

"Mhn..." came a mumble.

I heaved a breath and rested against the counter, sitting on the tiles. They're in there. They might not be okay, but they were there. “Do you wanna tell me about it?”

“You’re not supposed to be in here,” they muttered. “Not with me like this.”

I stayed silent. “I’m so hungry, Darling. It hurts so bad…”

“When did you last feed?” I whispered.

“Three days ago.” They whimpered, shuffling around. “It’s worse than having appendicitis, and I passed out when I had it as a human.” A sniffle. “But apparently fainting isn’t a vampire thing.”

I pressed a palm to the floor, preparing to get up.

“There’s no more blood bags in the fridge. William said there was some mix up in the delegation and the new batch wouldn’t arrive till tomorrow night.”

I sat back down. “Do you know if Vincent or Sam can bring home at least one? For tonight?”

“There’s none left…”

I tapped my fingers on my jeans. “Okay. Try breathing a little with me, Lovely, ‘Kay? Just, slowly, in… out… in… out… it’s a technique Sam taught me, when I got hurt often. It redirects your mind. In… out.”

I heard them exhale, shuddering as the exhale made its way out. “Darlin,” said mumbled. “All I can smell is you. And it’s not helping. Not—not saying you smell or anything it’s just—it’s—it’s a lot.”

I scooted a little further away the tub on my ass. “Do you want to come out, the ? Some fresh air might help with the pain. You know, since the bathroom pretty much smells like wolf and vampire.”

“I’ll back away from the tub, alright? I’ll give you the space. You can come out. Take it slow.” I stood by the doorframe, waiting patiently as the curtain drew back and Lovely stepped over the tub.

Their foot caught on the edge, slipping, and I caught them under the arms at a speed I never thought possible for a wolf.

I gripped their wrist, steadying them from the fall. “You alright?” I asked them. “Lovely?”

I pushed them away from me but just a fraction. Their breathing was uneven, ragged, their chest rising and falling sporadically. Their pupils were blown out to the point where I couldn’t see red or silver. Fixated on—

For the first time in a year, I felt afraid around them.

“L- Lovely?” I whispered. “Lovely, Lovely, HEY–!” 

Although I had slight build, I was no match for vampiric powers. My lower back slammed into the counter as Lovely lunged and sank their fangs into my neck. Stars erupted into my mind in excruciating pain, mixed in with the sudden surge of adrenaline. 

Push them off. P

Calm down, Tank. They’re your partner. They won’t hut you. 

But Quinn did. 

They’re different. They won’t. They can’t help it. 

They could still hurt you. 

They don’t mean it. 

You could die. 

Shut up! 

Lovely, it’s alright. Just take as much as you need… I’ll be okay. I need you to be okay. 

I slid down the side of the cabinets, resting my head on the edge of the sink, somehow light and heavy at the same time. My own warm blood trickled over my collarbone, staining Sam’s shirt. 

“Lovely! We’re home!” 

The front door slammed from a mile away. 

“Where are they, Sam?” 

“Bathroom. Come on.” 

Sam reached around the door and snapped on the light, and I flinched away from the sudden flash. Lovely growled, a guttural sound from the back of their throat. They pushed back with a tiny squeak, tucking themselves in the corner between the tub and the wall. 

“Darlin! Oh, Darlin, Lovely, we got a few extra blood bags from the newborns. wha—”

“Oh Jesus, Sam, throw me that clean towel.” Vincent’s blurry face shifted into view, a hand pushing back my hair from my sweaty body. “Hey, Darlin. You’re okay. We’re back.” He pressed the towel to my neck, staunching the bites. Rubbing the warmth back into my hands, threading his fingers through mine. 

“I know, Vincent.” I squeezed his hand lightly, with what strength I could muster. “Go take care of Lovely. I’m fine.” 

“You always say that.” But he stood up to help Sam coax Lovely away from the corner anyway. 

“I- I didn’t ask, I just- I just jumped at their neck but I was so hungry and it was hurting so bad… I’m a monster, Sam, Vincent, I- I’m as bad as him. I’m awful, Vincent, I didn’t mean it, I’m so sorry—”

“Shh… Lovely, it’s alright. You couldn’t help it…” 

“Hey Darlin.” Sam popped in. “How’re you feelin’?” 

I shifted from my position to better see him, and he held me up with his weight. “Better,” I told him. “I’ve had worse.” 

The corners of his mouth turned down for a moment, but he didn’t comment. He lifted the saturated towel from my neck. 

“It’s stopped bleeding. I’ll clean it. Don’t. Touch.” He worked away at the punctures, and I stayed still for once and listened. 

“Lovely, please, listen to me.” He was calm, firm. “You didn’t mean it. That’s all it matters.”

“But I feel disgusting. I bit them, without asking, literally just like what A-Adam did to me! Oh god, I’m turning into him, aren’t I, Vincent? I felt that surge, the excitement, I was excited to bite, my body wanted it. My mind wanted it, I couldn't ever think of stopping myself.” They sucked in a shuddering breath. “I’m sorry, Darlin. I didn’t mean to.” 

“Darlin, are you feeling better to scoot over here for a second?” Vincent touched a hand to my knee, and I nodded. 

Sam let me lean on his arm as I wiggled my way over. “That’ll leave a mark, but not obvious. It wasn’t deep.” 

“Thanks, Sam.” I reached for Vincent, looping my arm through his elbow. He offered a reassuring smile, a squeeze to my hand “Hey, Lovely.” I said. They shrunk away, glancing at the corner of the bathroom. “Lovely, can you look at me? Please?” 

Silver eyes met mine, tears shining on their waterline. I held out my hand. Lovely took it, trembling fingers gripping my knuckles until their tips turned white. “You don’t have to apologize, Lovely.” I whispered. “It’s not your fault.” 

“But I still… feel bad.” 

I shook my head. “There was no malicious intent, Lovely. It’s… it’s a newborn thing. I’ve been watching over Fred and Bright for the past year after they turned, and - it’s vampiric nature. It’s part of being a vamp, the bloodlust. I’m positive you’ll get used to it and learn how to control your hunger.” I gave their hand a reassuring squish. “I know you can.” 

Sam joined us on the floor, adding his own calloused hand to the pile with a smile. “I believe in you.” 

“I’ll talk with William about the distribution. I’ll also just save some bloodbags in case we ever need it.” Vincent added. 

I grinned. “And, uh, if you ever do need it, um… the neck’s free real estate.” 

Sam audibly groaned. 

“Thanks, Darlin.” Lovely said with a small smile. “And thank you, Sam, and Vin.” 

“Do you still want a bloodbag, now that you’re mostly fed? If not I’ll put it back in the fridge so it doesn’t spoil.” Vincent stood up, grabbing the bags he’d left on the counter. “You’re sure?” he added, as Lovely shook their head. “Okay then.” 

“I’ll go throw these in the wash,” Sam got up and left with a pat on the shoulder. 

“Hey, Lovely.” I turned their chin towards me, brushing back the hair they tried to hide their face with. “Lovely. Please, know that it’s not your fault. I don’t blame you, and I never will.” I cupped their cheek in my palm. “I love you.” 

They squeezed my hand. “Thank you.” 

I pulled us off the cold floor and into the main room. “Sooooo, did I taste good?” 

“I am not going to answer that question!” Lovely exclaimed. “But… you’re very sweet.” 

“Is that a compliment to my personality, or to my blood?” 

“You can decide for yourself, you ass! Stop teasing me!” 

I spun around and flopped onto the bed, with them standing between my legs. “You’re blushing red as a rose.” 

“I know!” Lovely covered their face with their sleeves. “My cheeks are so warm, and that’s saying something when my body temperature has dropped after I got turned!” 

I took their wrists and pulled them away from their cheeks. “You don’t have to hide them. Lean down.” They did as I said. “I like it when I make you all bothered. It’s cute.” I kissed their jaw, pulling them on top of me and onto the bed. 

“You’re not helping with the blushing, you know?” They nuzzled into my neck, right where they’d sunk their fangs into. “You smell incredible. Especially with my scent mixed with yours.” they whispered into my ear. “Now you’re red as a rose.” 

“Vincent, come to bed.” I heard Sam say outside the door. “We can wait till tomorrow to contact William. Prince, come on. Or do I have to drag you here?” 

“SAM, WE’RE VAMPIRES.” Vincent yelled from the living room. “WE DON’T NEED SLEEP.” 

Lovely giggled. “Sam, just let him be.” 

“You’re gonna sleep, Lovely. And you too, Darlin’.” Sam leaned against the doorframe, clicking his tongue at Vincent. “Just because you’re a wolf and you’re a vampire and you’re supposed to be nocturnal doesn’t mean you don’t sleep at all, especially not after feeding and being fed on. At least take a short nap and we can go out later.” 

“Yessir,” I waved him goodnight, and settled into the pillows with Lovely tucked under my arm. 

“'Night, little ones.”

Eternal RP Search

As the title indicates, I'm pretty much always on the lookout for some new RP partners! Please keep reading if you might be interested! c;

Basic Info:

I'm (old af) 33 now, so I'm only looking to write with partners 18+. This is non-negotiable.

I default to third person past tense; I'm happy to switch to present tense if that's your preference, but I won't write in first or second person for RP purposes. In the same vein, I can't write with a partner who uses first or second person. Sorry guys!

Expect there to be some NSFW content; I don't fade to black. That said, I'm happy with smut-focused threads or plot-focused ones with NSFW as more of a side feature. Please let me know your limits so I don't step on any toes! Also expect at least some mention/discussion of kinks.

I'll write over email, in gdocs, or on discord. Please do not ask me to join your server/group RP or to RP here on tumblr.

My post length tends to fluctuate from 4+ paragraphs to novella, though I'll never give you fewer than 4 paragraphs. I cannot tolerate one-liners or super short paragraphs; I absolutely want someone who can give me at least 4 paragraphs per character.

My posting frequency can, admittedly, be a little sporadic, though I won't make you wait more than a few days for a reply. Ideally, I'd like a partner who can offer something similar -- 3-5 posts per week. I don't generally do rapid-fire, and if posts get slower than once per week I start to lose motivation.

I tend to prefer m// and m/f pairs, though in certain circumstances I'd be happy to double with f//. I'm also happy to include trans, nb, and characters that otherwise fall outside of the binary.

I will not exclusively write tops for your bottoms, men for your women, or canon characters for your original characters. I am, however, happy to double/triple/write casts/write poly so we can each write what we like.

What I'm looking for here is a little hard to explain, so please bear with me! While I'm not averse to simple doubling, I'd really enjoy a poly or polycule situation with the male love interests (Adam, Nate, Mason, & Felix).

In the case of a polycule, however, I wouldn't want to focus on the romantic/sexual side of things between the boys, though I like the idea of the intimacy and closeness it potentially lends itself to the RP. In such an instance I would absolutely love to write an MC or OC, but I'll happily discuss it and compromise so we're both content!

I know it hasn't been released yet -- and won't be for quite some time -- but I love the idea of playing in the world. I absolutely want to include all the LIs, and like above would be happy to indulge in poly, simple doubling, or a polycule (to be completely honest, I'm most interested in the polycule here).

I'd even be happy to focus only on the canon characters and not include OCs at all, but I'm glad to include them too. I just really want the opportunity to explore the boys and the world better.

About: There are overall spoilers for the Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter series ahead. Tough as nails vampire slayer Anita Blake's wedding to the king of American vampires, Jean-Claude, is fast approaching, but so are the threats against their people. A killer targeting vampires by exposing them to sunlight while they rest may have bigger designs, and family issues, wedding fittings, and date night are interrupted by an ancient evil come to take Jean-Claude's seat of power for itself. Trigger warnings: death, fire, mental health issues abound, jealousy/possessiveness and toxic relationships (countered). NSFW content.

Thoughts: This late in the series, the books are kind of hit or miss, but I liked Smolder a bit more than the last few in the series. While it's smaller in size, it does still fall into some of the pacing and irrelevancy problems of having so. many. damn. characters, but I'm accepting that as a matter of course at this point. Toward the end, it literally takes characters several chapters just to change locations because every time they turn a corner, a new character has to shovel sixteen emotional issues before they can pass. With this many partners in the polycule, I think they need weekly meetings just so everyone can air their grievances at a convenient time instead of, you know, in the middle of a crisis.

It does seem like there are genuine efforts to balance character development with plot here though. Anita is introduced to a new supernatural murder case that, while small in scope in this particular crime scene, is set up to potentially take a larger role on the future. There's also a Big Bad introduced that, miraculously, isn't resolved and defeated in three pages. I don't think we've had a villain span more than one book since the Mother of all Darkness, and I'm really excited to see this play out in more depth. It plays on some fun mythology elements and is scary enough to catch even Edward's interest. There's not a lot of closure on either of those threads, but there's some nice thematic closure on some of the character development, so the book doesn't feel as unfinished as it might have otherwise.

I guess the general venn diagram of these is "Traumatized af AND with TERRIBLE coping mechanisms [if at all])

Starscream already got a whole post but his deal is "extreme narcissist that needs to feel in control at all times just to feel safe"

Prowl as far as i can tell is "man infected with cop brain and deep trust issues needs to feel in control of the situation at all times to not go insane"

Pharma is "local medic forced to commit atrocities snaps and embraces being a fucked up murderer just to feel in control of his life again, resents those who could have helped him and didn't"

Whirl is the one with the most clearly explained trauma in the comic and it is "local clockmaker gets his entire life stolen from him and made into a soldier, to cope with it he throws himself fully into the role, he's left with a whole lot of issues and he copes by being a self aggrandizing asshole with no regards for his own life or others. he's made it his mission to be as unlikable as possible by being, as previously mentioned, an asshole- because he thinks he's undeserving of love (and why would he want love anyway?! love's for WIMPS)."

because i feel that with these 4 I'm having a "recognition through the other" moment, and the recognition is "haha that's a personality disorder babey! you're on a path of self destruction you can't stop!"

which i guess when i put it like that it is worrying, but also I'm definitely not extreme AT ALL like these guys. but maybe that's why i love them so much.

* Prowl can hardly be counted as one of my faves in the whole sense of the word. When i first read RID i just straight up loathed him. by the end of the run i was like "FUCKING PROWL CAN YOU DIE ALREADY". But now after i finished reading mtmte and RID i'm like. wow he's literally the fucking worst. i'm obsessed with seeing him humiliated over and over again. i need him to suffer. i have a lot of fics i need to update, including a Left 4 Dead 2 novelization. otherwise i have some ideas for that Heartshipping Bakery AU I was writing, it's just actually tying the threads together that's getting to me... (and spoilers for Marik Goes To Therapy, but the next chapter is taking so long because I'm writing a character I don't usually write)

I kind of want to write more in the Tomb Robbery world, too, specifically about the main cast joining them in the afterlife when they eventually die. mostly so TKB can bang the Mariks to his heart's content and Atem can have the most ridiculous polycule in history. (Atem having to explain to his cousin why he's banging his doppelganger/reincarnation is the most Awkward Thing Ever)
