im currently a fan of pokspe and thr game pomemon characters.. but ive been seeing a lot of stuff about pokepasta and wondering if its worth getting into… bc im also very particular with how i see ethan n silver n all that…..should i get into it?

A Timeline

A Darkness Rising Part 1- Cliffjumper is saved by Frontier and the Pokémon

-Masters and Students- Skyquake is saved and repaired by Frontier and the Pokémon and goes neutral. Also contacts Dreadwing too come too Earth.

-Scrapheap- Frontier and Meltan help the Autobots fend off the Scraplet horde

-After Scrapheap but before Con Job- Frontier accidently discovers Hound in a power reserve mode and help the bot get back on there feet. Autobots discover Hound's signal and bring him in. Hound joins the Autobots, bolstering there forces.

Epilogue Of Con Job- Wheeljack stays a couple extra days too see Frontier and the Pokémon and quickly becomes friends with the strange group

Convoy- Frontier helps Agent Fowler and The Autobots transport the D.I.N.G.U.S. Miko gets Frontier's number before they leave.

Before Deus Ex Machina- Frontier saves Lazerbeak from a rouge Insecticon

During Dues Ex Machina-Frontier picks up Hotshot's signal while in the Canadian Rockies and help the Transformer. Hot Shot tells Frontier of potential other villages of Cybertronians they could go check out. Hot Shot's village learns about Frontier and the Pokémon.

Sometime before Speed Metal- Frontier finds Barricade on Scotlands Coast and restores the Decepticon. Barricade goes Neutral.

During Speed Metal- Agent Fowler and Frontier cross paths and accidently scare each other. Agent Fowler finds out about Frontier and the Pokemon

During Sick Mind- Xurkitree crosses paths with M.E.C.H and short circuits there bases power grid and ends up furthering there interest in the strange creatures.

-A bit after Out Of His Head- Frontier goes too Griffin Rock and meets the Burns Family and the Rescue Bots

The Episode Shadow Zone is replaced with a mini story- This is when Celesteela appears the Autobots are shown the Park Ranger Drone footage of Celesteela appearing. Raf and Bumblebee find Mini Celesteela and the hunt begins for the others and ends with the Autobot gang saying goodbye too Sprout and the other mini Celesteela as they go back home.

Operation: Breakdown: Breakdown is saved by Frontier and the Pokémon from M.E.C.H and joins back up with Knockout

After Crisscross- Dreadwing makes it Earth and meets up with Skyquake. It is decided that Dreadwing will join the Decepticons only too help keep an eye out for creatures from Frontier's world and help keep them safe. Skyquake will remain Neutral.

During Metal Attraction- Frontier finds the Badge Of Vector Prime along with a Blade Of Time

Sometime After Metal Attraction- Frontier is offered a resting place at Autobot headquarters when 2 Pokémon Eggs are about too hatch. The Pokémon are Fidough and Greavard

A before Rock Bottom- Optimus and Soundwave both come across there own Pokémon companions. Golett for Optimus and Charcadet. Both Pokemon stay with the respective Transformer

After Partners- The Autobots deal with a group of Alolan Geodude and Graveler led by a Alolan Totem Golem

Sometime before Stronger And Faster- Golett chases after Optimus in a maze that constantly shifts as Optimus had too go alone due too the energy draining effect the maze had as the Matrix Of Leadership slowed down the effects. Golett saves Optimus from Megatron after evolving into Golurk and riving off the Decepticon leader. Both head home with the artifact they were after, a exposure patch.

Alright I think I have timeline of events before One Shall Fall. This was too get all the events straight.

I like a lot of pokemon for various reasons. I could go cliche and say "shiny mega gardevoir" or salazzle or the other common transgender furrybaits. (Although I could actually say Lucario because I had a Lucario Halloween costume when I was younger)

Or I could say one of the fox pokemon, or any number of pretty fire or dragon or fairy or [proceeds to name all the types] Pokemon

Hm. Well, in Gen 2 is there *is* a train, and there are large boats at the start, but...hm.

I think my best guess is, because of the supernatural abilities of Pokemon, installation of mechanical options was neglected because there were Pokemon who could fill that need. When you have effective and safe long distance transportation available from the Pokemon, spending the time and resources to build infrastructure probably seems like a waste. It's worth noting that pokemon *capable* of carrying at least one human are all over the place, and at least one that can instantly teleport (Abra and its line) are just hanging out out there.

There's lots of theories distopic/post war/post disaster setting, and while I'm not a big follower on any of them I do think this observation integrates well with them generally. It's very possible that there were organizations (government or otherwise) that facilitated ease of travel by use of Pokemon, and that *something* happened which decimated those organizations. It's worth noting that while pokemon that *can* learn fly are pretty darn common, the move that enables them to do so is "regulated" by being a HM that requires a badge to use, and you only find the HM that teaches it directly once - but Teleport doesn't. I would interpret this as Fly being less safe than Teleport (you are going up in the air for some time as opposed to just instantly blipping) and more accessible to the layman (flying types are more common) and so action was taken to restrict its availability for public safety.

I'd say given the Canon existence of Lt. Surge (and, through his dialogue, a war) that its very possible that some of the many buildings that can't be entered were once organizations that offered easy travel through officially sanctioned Pokemon Flights, and that as such, while the technology to establish paved roads and trains and other mechanical travel did exist, they fell out of favor because Pokemon were just easier. Why buy and maintain a car and have a government maintain long stretches of road when you can just give Greg five pokebucks when you need to nip across the continent? Heck, in later games there literally are free public flight services. If you travel a lot you can probably invest in getting an Abra or other teleporting Mon for convenient personal travel - trades are possible and we do see pomemon sold/given away via the Game Corner "prizes" and its worth noting Abra is absolutely on that list.

But then something happens which decimates the domestic Pokemon Population and/or the Governing Body (usually speculated to be that cannonically mentioned war) and now you have almost or literally nobody who has the Pokemon who can fly (worth noting that Surge, the guy who mentions his Pokemon saved his life, specializes in Electric types *which are super effective against Flying types* and Falkner, the first gym leader in Johto, is quite young and specifically says he inherited the gym and his pokemon from his father) and a Government that isn't in the state to get the technology/licensure it was restricting (for public safety) out en masse quickly, and since nobody bothered to invest in mechanical transportation or upkeep for foot travel (why bother when flying is right there) everybody's left floundering and isolated as they struggle to recover.

Generations 1 and 2 are the ones that establish the settings and themes and repeating elements, so after them I'd chalk it up to game design consistency, bur I do think the first two games at least have good support for an organic reasoning - its worth noting that Gen 2 has some themes about recovery (particularly from trauma/disasters that were outside your control) and that in Gen 2, the train is *new* and free to use - and its established between two large cities on separate continents, one of which has the *only* functioning broadcast system on its continent (the radio tower for Johto) and the other which has a Psychic Type (the type that learns teleport) established as Gym Leader. This really seems to support the context of a society coming to the realization that their dependence on one form of travel (via pokemon) leaves them vulnerable, and they're starting to invest in other options as they recover.

Can we talk about Pokemon, especially surrounding technology in like, the first three games.

So, you have high technology like:

Pokeballs which take pokemon and store them away.

Healing machines one can place your pokemon into

Pokemon transformation machines (which can turn people into pokemon)

Pokedexes which record pokemon's names, forms and stats.

But despite this

There are few paved roads between cities, you have to go through tall grass to even leave Pallet town.

Mechanical land transport is rare. There's bicycles, which are arguably the simplest form of mechanical land transport there is, but that's it until the third games when you start out in a moving van going down a presumably dirt road.

Although some tunnels survive, some routes between town use unlit caves as tunnels.

Some of the more direct routes between towns and cities require you use Cut to cut down woody foliage or have one way systems caused by natural (?) Ha-Has.

AND YET DESPITE THE ABOVE!

Technology we have today still exists and works, namely phones, TVs, Computers (that you can transfer Pokemon through), and games consoles and (I assume) a version of the Internet still exist.

There still is commerce in the form of Pokemarts, malls, and shops.

There are museums and archives that are functioning and accepting visitors.

There are still corporations that operate across the area.

There are Police Forces, implying even local governments.

There are luxury cruises or perhaps even Ocean Liners.

Now, I know I am overthinking a Children's game based on bug collection and beetle fighting, but what the fuck is going on, what even is happening. I know this has been asked before, but has there been a war? Is the world getting back up on it's feet again? What's happened?

You have a little guy, and then a teen girl, and then a swamp creature. Actually when I put it like that it sounds very trans. Tried the genders, discarded them for swamp creature 😂

But thats not a cohesive pomemon evolution.

Im gonna add my most recent least favourite, the violet/scarlet duck twink. The final evolution. Yes I get its a dancer +- in drag and thats an ok concept for a pokemon i guess (we have "humanoid fight guy" and "humanoid punch girl" so "humanoid drag dance" isnt too far off i guess) , but the idle animation is Too Much, the dance feet couldve been ok but how many layers of glittery sparkly movement are there? And it all moves so fast. My eye cannot focus on any detail because its all moving too fast, its just sparkly irritation. I could not tell you what the design looks like except for constant motion headache.

Quaquaval. I searched "pokemon irritating duck", it came up second to poor psyduck. Quqaqaval is why psyduck has a constant migraine. Even a still image is kinda hard to look at, theres so many different elements going on, calm the fuck down youre a pokemon.

I do kinda want to see someone perform drag as quaqaval actually. That could be a gorgeous outfit. On a human.
