In honor of a future wedding, we opened thirty two bottles of @quintadovesuvio port. . I grabbed my glass. Ed stopped me. . "No. We are poor kids. We know what it means to have nothing. Tonight, we drink this from a silver goblet. . And we did. . And we cried. . God blesses the meek and the humble and today, I am blessed to drink aged wine from silver. . #themeekwillinherittheearth #Thanksgiving #Maryland #blessings #poorkids (at Baltimore, Maryland) https://www.instagram.com/p/ClXOM-rsyQg/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

So I couldn't find this one anywhere, so I recorded it while watching the movie. I promise it's only this amazing scene I did it with, because I felt so bad for the kid, but it was an amazingly acted scene. :)
Taken from Hunted starring Rory J Saper. Enjoy! WARNING: EMETO and BLOOD!!! Also, turn your sound up so you can hear his obvious discomfort.

Dear Education
Dear education As this year begins I have to admit I’m lost . I’m afraid of what my life looks like with out the stability of your bi-weekly checks, your chaos, your pointless paperwork that keeps me from helping children, your stress, your judgment when I put my kids and mental health first, and your mandated routines . My whole life I’ve been in one of your homes in some fashion. We’ve been together since I was in my mother’s womb . After graduating high school I loved you so much that I just couldn’t stay away, so I returned as an teacher’s assistant. The life long relationships I’ve built from working in your homes, I am forever grateful for . I’m grateful for the diversity you’ve allowed me to see and the students who many expect nothing from, that taught me more than any university could ever promise . This is definitely not a divorce let’s think of it as a separation I just need some time to figure out how to help me help you, because together you can be selfish and abusive . You get excited about my skills and try to use as many of them as you possibly can 8 hours . Sending me home so tired that I end up,  doing exactly what I tell other parents not to do to own kids. You give me a cape at the beginning of each school year and tell me go out and save whatever zip code I’m servicing. Only to tell me I’m more like a wrestler and just act like your doing enough to keep our scores up and our building off the news. I love you but I love our kids so much more, and with you I have so much responsibility I can’t focus on what really matters . I’m tired of acting like a cheap magician . I haven’t made one problem disappear in 10 years, I just stuff them somewhere out of site and the applause erupt. I’ve always done just enough to keep our kids in our schools for as long as they are with us but I’m not satisfied, because I don’t think I’ve done enough to keep them off breaking news or enough for them to be on the highlights. Every school I’ve seen the same demographics, and the same issues and I’ve put cute little bandaids over each one and walked into summer knowing I didn’t give them the tools to be successful anywhere but here . I actually created little actors, who were able to perform in classrooms and please their teachers just enough to not be sent to an alternative campus. Each time I started to address lifelong skills there was another student, that needed a bandaid . I gave up last year because I saw elementary for the first time, and realized that this entire time I was putting bandaids on intermediate students for 5 years who were now at the stage where they needed surgery . I didn’t have the time and there were so many other things to do, that looking back weren’t really important . I hate your paperwork and your deadlines, that don’t about lost parents and confused students who experienced the effects of those lost parents, to the point where functioning at school becomes difficult. The thrill I received from throwing that paperwork to the side and running to a situation and saving the day is unimaginable.  Only to get there and realize I was expected to pass out yet another emotional bandaid and hurry back to the paperwork that was more important . I loved our children and I want us to save them together but we have to get on the same page . I have to step out like the Ben Carson’s of the world and find the cure that others might not initially believe in at first. I’m willing to be that crazy person for second if it means I never have to hand out another band aid. See I went to schools like my kids and I’ve seen what happens when you’ve been given bandaids and quick fixes your entire life . I’ve seen too many of my peers’ kids, living lives identical to their childhood. I’ve had so many peers/classmates die at the hands of criminals who were rewarded with suspension and alternative school growing up instead of counseling and mentors . What we are doing doesn’t work we are more reactive than proactive. We spend more time trying to solve the the problem than getting to the root of it. Our problems are hereditary and they don’t stop because our school performs above the state standards . We have to start looking at our children as future leaders and give them skills that can be used after 12th grade . They need preparation for the real world within this 12 year period . If we spend 5 of those years teaching them how to stand in a line and the rest of those years on skills that are only valuable within your institutions how do we create those out of the box thinkers , or at minimum self sufficient adults . I love you Education we’ve been together for far to long.nI think this break will allow me to see things more clear and come back to tell you all about it, and make the change I truly think you want but are too busy to seek . For 3 years I’ve worked after hours to dig into those generational cycles , figure out our most challenging kids, and practiced methods that I lucked up on in crisis. I wrote a book I completed it and I’ve kept it on my computer for 3 years . I guess my insecurities stem from the fact that all of my research was given to me by either by my peers who were behaviorally challenged or my students who were . They have been trying to tell us for years what we are doing is not effective but we aren’t supposed to listen . I’ve been afraid that because of who I listened to you won’t take me serious . I’ve been afraid you will think I’m as crazy as you think they are . But in the words of Macaulay Culkin “I’m not afraid anymore “ ! They’ve given me the tools and although they didn’t teach me how to publish a book and put it in the hands of you and everyone else that loves education as much as I do, they are worth figuring it out . So this is not good bye education it’s a see yah soon.

- These poor children will grow up to be poor adults. Clearly, it indicates the need for child rights intervention. #poorchilds #poorlife #poorkids #feedingthehomeless #feedingwithlove #childsupport #childsright #childsponsorship (at West Bengal)
