RULES: make a poll with 5 of your all-time favorite characters and then tag 5 people to do the same. See which character is everyone's favorite! (tagged by @seaweedstarshine)
Tagging (don't worry if you don't want to/have done it already!): @transgenderdoctorwhomst @27-27-gruff-triplets @quietwingsinthesky @lost-tardis-room @a-shard-of-quartz-lol
#rose rambles#thank you for the tag!!! :D#like Tree I tried to keep it to one per fandom#which meant I had to pick one from doctor who...#if I'd kept it to just dw It'd be Nine/Rose/Amy/Clara/the Master#also for the characters with the & symbol#its because both characters are Very Strongly Associated#Grima is the dragon/deity that possesses Robin in fea that he was like#born to be the vessel of. You usually prevent it from happening but the DLC/future story has it happen#and the story is preventing an event that by one view already occurred#as for Hermes and Fandaniel. Hermes was the ''full'' soul who took on the position of Fandaniel#and Fandaniel as mentioned on the poll refers to the soul piece in ''modern'' time that takes on the mantle of Fandaniel and body of Asahi#and has the memories of Fandaniel#but doesn't fully identify as Hermes#Fandaniel#or his most recent life Amon#he wants to blow up the world to end reincarnation👍#might as well explain the other two then for doctor who followers uhh#Jin is part of STREGA#a group of teens that were experimented on to awaken their Personas artificially#which is slowly killing them (their psyche is physically lashing out at them). So they also. Try to end the world.#The kids are left taking ''persona suppressors'' which is an experimental medication that is both the only thing keeping them alive and is#also slowly killing them. It doesn't get the chance to kill Jin though.#he's one of 3 (4 if you count the light novel) surviving kids out of 100 from the experiment and by the end of the game only Chidori is lef#And now Will Graham.#You probably all know Will Graham. And I have rambled long enough. But he's the origin of one of my names.#Most of these guys are villains thats just sort of how these themes get represented#and I'm nothing if not consistent lmao

you know i just had the wildest, most unlikely seeming experience trying to get medical care. i went into the doctor and described some weird symptoms i was having, was taken seriously immediately, the doctor made an educated guess as to what the issue was and sent me in for some scans to confirm, and it turns out her guess was exactly right and there IS something weird going on right where she thought it was. and now i have many follow up tests to schedule, but it’s all like. weirdly chill. zero delays. wild

scrolling thru narc abuse truthers blogs is so fucking funny bCS DO YOU GUYS KNOW WHAT THIS TERM EVEN MEANS ???❓❓❓❓❓❓
HELLO 😭😭😭😭 DELUSIONS PF GRANDEUR????
Tumblr media
delusions of grandeur are ALSO present in mental illnesses like SCHIZOPHRENIA and BIPOLAR DISORDER. PSYCHOTIC DISORDERS !!! me when i claim i've experienced schizophrenic abuse
also idk y'all i also have psychosis and i think i can say pretty confidently that when i'm experiencing genuine DELUSIONS of grandeur, i don't care as much of maintaining my image because yes i do genuinely believe i'm an incarnate of god so why would i need other people's opinion???
me when i tell someone experiencing psychosis that their symptoms (grandiose delusions) are NOTHING compared to ✨my✨ experiences

Just had a doctor tell the student doctor he was working with to understand that "asking a patient to work on their psychological health is like asking them to climb a mountain. It's a physically draining and utterly exhausting process. Do not say it glibly or thoughtlessly."
Also when my weight as a factor came up he was very quick to assure that crash diets are bad, weight usually brings strength, and just to eat as much fresh veg as I reasonably can because it "makes you feel better to eat more veg"
Also told the student doctor that "don't just advise 'exercise more'. Chronic pain patients need to find how to be active in a way that doesn't cause them more pain. You have to think of the whole picture of their lives and experiences"
Anyway best doctor ever

DW POSITIVITY DRIVE
in case you havent seen it, theres this initiative going around by taka to share stuff we love about doctor who!
so heres my list of stuff, in no particular order:
thasmin
I could write for hours about how important thasmin is to me but to spare all of you I wanted to focus on how the ship happened on the show, how chibbs, mandip and jodie saw our love for the characters and how much we related to them and decided to make it happen for us! and ended up gaving us one of the most beautiful wlw storylines ever
series 5
the whole crack in the wall plot is so well written and so mysterious and fun, honestly for me s5 is a capsule of everything good in doctor who! I loooove the fairytale/peter pan storyline sprinkled through amy's character, the humour, the episodes, river coming back, thE VAN GOGH EPISODE????
the van gogh episode
(I thought it deserved its own topic thingy because its that good)
PRAXEUS
its such a good episode, the visuals are stunning, the character parallels are great, the humour is good, it has so many iconic lines ("did she say brains" "thats why you smell like a dead bird" "Im a sucker for a scientist"), DID I MENTION BRAZILIAN QUEEN GABRIELA SPEAKING PORTUGUESE, the episode also takes advantage of the tardis potential and we go to new places outside europe/north america, gay kiss, its just such a good episodeeeeeee
him
Tumblr media
missy what a beautifully complex character... sillyness combined with terrifying seriousness, danger, unpredictability and tragedy, with a potential for good just under the surface. basically I really like her and I will defend her to the end of times
yasmin khan god where do I even start. I think yaz has one of the most beautiful character arcs Ive ever seen, subtle and gentle, just like her. yaz is a character that at first glance people dont really get, and youre not supposed to, slowly she grows inside of you, opens up and develops. her journey from struggling with bullying and mental health issues, to desperately looking for something important to do and then meeting the doctor, falling in love with her, repressing her feelings to then finally come to terms with it and love her life like she never thought possible before (I need to stop here otherwise Im gonna bawl my eyes out) ((but you get the gist))
just any time the doctor speaks/pretends to speak with animals, aliens that dont speak english or babies, thats my shit right there
coatless 13 in the magenta shirt (I love her so much)
anytime the doctor Fixes or Builds Things and they are surrounded with steampunk tools and helmets and shit, like yes little nerd go make something explode
this one is a bit of a cheat cause its not about the show itself! but I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who creates stuff as well as supports stuff being made here in the fandom! in special I wanted to thank fanfic writers yall are fucking incredible and those masterpieces have helped me a ton, they also truly inspire me, so yeah keep on being amazing!!
I think that's all for now at least, and if you reached the end of this enormous post make sure to make your own, go go go!

Oh! But back to meeting with the surgeon about my gallbladder!
First of all, I love him. He is kind and thorough and respectful. Every time before he’d start to explain something, he would say, “as I’m sure you’ve already read,” / “I know you already know this, but…” and things of that nature. He spoke to me as if I am just as educated as he is.
He wants me to be seen by (his favorite) infectious diseases specialist so that we can test to see if there is still MRSA active in my body (which I didn’t know was a thing you could do! W H Y has NO ONE offered that to me before now?? Why didn’t Dr. Evil suggest that when I asked to come off the antibiotics!?) before we schedule the surgery, which I’m grateful for. He said even if it doesn’t end up relevant for the surgery, I deserve the peace of mind.
He ALSO wants me to see a rheumatologist to see if they can gauge “how bad of an Ehlers Danlos case” I am… I have NO idea what that entails but he wants to have as much info as he can in that regard with things like bleeding and anesthesia and slow wound healing in mind. I wasn’t aware that things could be assessed in such a way? Doctors who know about EDS are few and far between in this area but he says he will find one. I told him I’m willing to travel for it. (He doesn’t know one, he’s looking for one for me.)
He also does NOT cath for this surgery and confirmed there won’t be any need for anything below the belt to be messed with 🙏 He did say that sometimes, after surgery, people have bladder complications that may then require a catheter be placed, but he assured me that is rare and he’s a hardly ever had to.
He said, “you may have read that [word that means I have thickening of my gallbladder walls] can be a sign of cancer, but recent studies have come out showing that isn’t actually the case,” and then explained why. I didn’t even bring up cancer, he was just letting me know because he knows that’s what comes up when you google that word (I forget the word). He also went on to assure me that while he does not feel that cancer is a concern in my situation at all, they will be biopsy-ing every single one of the gallstones to make sure.
And! He had a female nurse come in so that we would not be alone when he needed me to lift my shirt, even though it was only my belly. He felt so safe that I didn’t even feel the need to ask about the pelvic exams under anesthesia thing or about having a witness present or anything. Literally ALL green flags.
Not only was he completely open to taking my personal experience with which pain medications do and do not work for me into account, but he seemed to genuinely appreciate the information bc it helps him do his job better. I forgot to ask if he’ll be willing to send refills if I am slower to heal than is expected, but he was so open to hearing me out and considering all things EDS that I’m not concerned about that at all. I think he will just believe me if I say that I need more.

Worst thing happened today. (Not the worst at all) so I thought I had strep throat (turns out I didn’t but that’s not the point) so I’m dealing with this really nice nurse and when she’s done the doctor comes in and.... oh my goooods!
This man was Spencer Reid. Like I can’t even. Tall, lanky, so fucking kind, when on cute little side tangents and introduced himself as Dr. Jamie (think he said his middle name) (sorry I don’t remember your last name).
Like okay Dr. Jamie, you little freaking guy. So cus I have a wicked sore throat he was feeling me up (in a completely respectful, doctorly, professional, I’m not way sexual way, not even the accidental boob touch) and was no nice about it, to say it again, the kindest, nicest doctor I’ve ever met in my entire life. Really energetic and explained everything, little rambles that were goddamn adorable.
And this man, with his adorable blue eyes and short, shaggy dark hair leads me to get a test and honest to god- does the door lean thing. I’m like a meter away (abt three feet) and he just leans on the doorway talking to the nurse voice getting deeper like wtf.
(Also he went on cute little side tangents 1) about how there are like more than 20 viral sicknesses that have my symptoms and 2) that honey is scientifically proven to improve sore throat and cough)
Anyway... that was that lol.
