Also one of the reasons it makes narrative / thematic sense if the main motivator that has Callum going to Aaravos / doing shady shit is because of Rayla is like, somewhat basic storytelling and also very Greek tragedy? She threw out their relationship and broke his trust and risked her life for two years all in the name of keeping him safe. I’m sure that’ll still be one of her main goals in S4, thinking of herself as his and Ezran’s protector (better her than them / him) while they travel together again. Only for her to fail in protecting him, because he’s either going to do something Very Dangerous in order to make up for something she can’t do (circa 2x07 all over again) if she’s injured or just incapable (re: 1x03 in a dark turn), or he’s going to do something Deeply Dangerous explicitly to protect her / on her ‘behalf.’ And I’m just - I’m so freaking ready

I am seeing some of the WORST takes about tdp season 4. Sweet, sweet tumblr users. This season was a lot of set up, not everything was supposed to be explained or resolved, or even "should" have been. Season 4 had to do the heavy leg work of re-establishing characters and arcs and the plot moving foreword. It just needs a little time to be able to act on everything it's now established. It did a good job building off of arc 1, and now we are fully indoctrinated into arc 2!

#like yes you are SUPPOSED to think Rayla was acting weird #yes you are SUPPOSED to be confused about why she came back #yes you are SUPPOSED to wonder why Callum is throwing himself into his work/magic #(I think it's possible to infer but it's going to be explored)#yes you are SUPPOSED to be disappointed that Rayllum didn’t completely hash out their issues #Yes. Even the fact that Rayla wasn't as focused on this season.#she opened up about NOTHING and it's clear that during her 2 year absence something happened to her #I promise it's going to be explored these writers don't just leave plot points #Really s4 and s5 are gonna be more like 1 season narrative wise #s4 ep 9 was more like a mid season finally #This is exactly how it went down with seasons 1 and 2 #*finale #anyways #The only thing that feels like it was completed narrativly this season was the Janaya plot #This all feels super intentional to me man #tdp #the dragon prince #tdp spoilers #Like let the plot happen #Just because it didn't ALL happen in one season like you thought it would doesn't mean it won't #okay that's all the salt I have in me #imp tag

am i just so far gone with these two that i can barely correctly comprehend anything they do toward eachother as normal casual interaction anymore or was this actually topher being worried about abe

i don’t think rayllum was rushed but i seems they got together so quick in the series is so that the writers could torture us with their angst

I do remember thinking post-S3 that Rayllum may be separated in S4 (although I thought it would more so be "Callum is off doing a plot thing - possibly chasing magic in a way that's not entirely healthy - and Rayla's doing a plot thing and they're doing a brief long distance thing like the sweeties they are") simply because we got four episodes of them just as a couple in S3, but now it seems they won't even be separated for that long in season four, lol. TDP continues to make them the relationship that has the most screentime and I have no complaints!
