The One That Got Away (Sherlock fanfic)

Hey lovely people!

After "It's so cold", my Molly Hooper centric one shot fic, here's the beginning of my second contribution to the Sherlock fandom :)

TIMELINE: post The Final Problem, with many flashbacks of Sherlock's past (between 10 and 15 years before TFP)

TW: PTSD, references to past rape, drugs and suicide

Summary:

Six months after Sherlock's sister Eurus put him, his brother Mycroft and his best friend John Watson through a series of sick games that nearly got all them killed, they all came back to their life. After helping Sherlock to repair the damages caused by the fire that destroyed their apartment, John found a new job and raises Rosie in the house he used to share with Mary. However, he hasn't forgotten his friend Sherlock, who resumed his consulting work at 221B Baker Street. It's not enough to cure Sherlock's boredom, but soon a new case will get him back to Scotland Yard; a wealthy man was found hanged in his living-room, and the circumstances surrounding his death are mysterious. Despite Lestrade's inclination towards deeming it a suicide, Sherlock is doubtful: how come his safe, hidden behind a painting, was found unlocked and emptied? Was the hanged man a blackmail's victim? Was it even a suicide? For the first time in months, Sherlock is excited: at last, the game is on! Little does he know that this new case will soon force him to face the ghost of a past he thought was behind him. Memories of a case he investigated fifteen years ago resurface, along with the heartbreak that ensued.

Adult Jack Headcanons:

He went on to become a doctor (probably an anaesthesiologist or an endocrinologist or just W basic family doctor)

He is married to Sierra (though they weren’t “high school sweethearts”,they didn’t date in hs,then went on with their lives for a few years and met again in college where they became friends and few years later a couple)

He and Sierra are parents and he’s kinda terrified of not being there for his kids (both physically and emotionally) so even though he works a lot he does everything to be involved

His eyesight started deteriorating seemingly for no reason (the actual reason for that are some long term effects of his visit to cybertron/ground bridge travel)(you can’t tell me that there aren’t any harmful side effects to human bodies from that)

He realised he’s kind of genderfluid so he uses he/her/them on some occasions

Also he gets a June hairstyle (long hair low ponytail type because I said so)

Bro just wants to live in peace tbh

Sierra headcanons (as a treat):

I kinda imagine her being a popular girl type person in high school/early college years (she would party and stuff)(

After a bunch of not so fun experiences she decided to reevaluate her life, cut off people with bad influence and changed colleges

She met Jack again and they became friends and eventually started dating

I think she would be studying something related to public relations and later works as a PR manager

I have this silly/not so silly headcanon that after she and Jack had a daughter Sierra’s immune system decided it’s not needed anymore and she’s sick like every two weeks. Because of that she works from home after not being able to keep a normal stationary job for some time

Her relationship with her parents isn’t so great because they don’t really like Jack or June

She knows about bots,cons and the whole alien war in Jasper thing because Jack told her when they got married

The differences between TFP and Earthspark Optimuses are sooooooo fucking funny. TFP OP is burdened with "I've never seen Prime laugh, cry, or lose his cool," he responds to "Hey Optimus you wanna see something funny?!" with the numbest dead-eyed Eeyore "No," he's just generally Haunted and Stoic every waking moment

Then we have Chuckles McGee with his looney toons ass face winking and making finger guns and giggling nervously and spamming the group chat with emojis and cracking jokes and making "graphic design is my passion" self-help pamphlets

I "freshened" up his model a bit and rigged it for a simple little animation

Transformers: Prime Decepticons - Hands

So, I was looking at hands, as one does when they’re bored, and I noticed a few things:

Every single ‘Con has claws, except Soundwave and Breakdown.

Megatron, Starscream, Shockwave, Dreadwing, Skyquake, Knockout, and Airachnid have 5 fingers.

Soundwave, Breakdown, Insecticons, Predaking, Darksteel, and Skylynx have 4 fingers.

Vehicons only have 3 fingers.

Predacon claws are flawless in form and aesthetic.

While I know Soundwave has spindly fingers for practical reasons, it’s the perfect symbolic representation of how he declawed himself for the sake of the Cause, giving up much of his power to follow Megatron.

Kudos to the character designers for crafting each Decepticon’s hands to match their function:

Megatron, Dreadwing, Skyquake: Sharp and wide for various combat situations

Soundwave: Thin and straight for work with computers and tech

Starscream: Light and “bony,” perfect for a flight frame

Shockwave, Knockout, and Airachnid: Sharp and delicate for scientific and/or medical work

Breakdown: Wide and blunt for brute force attacks

Vehicons: Useless

Insecticons: Wide and curved for digging and slashing

Predacons: Sharp with additional armor plating for evisceration (help I love this word so much)

The Autobots could only dream of having hands this masterfully crafted ✨
