seeing two performance... issues? regressions? improvable situations? on the patio page
the one about post loading being super slow I'm still looking into (short version: calling getboundingclientrect in a bunch of async callbacks = bad), but the cpu load while sitting idle on the page is... weird?
it's definitely a floating-ui autoUpdate callback, but I don't know why it would be happening. it's—
ah, you know what it is? it's probably an ariakit hovercard used for the reaction bubbles at the bottom of community posts that doesn't unmount—yep, this happens on community pages too. I don't know why the autoUpdate callback is expensive here, though; it's not on the ariakit example page. puzzling. but that's probably as far as I can get as, you know. not a member of the development team of this closed-source piece of software. and all.
well... I was planning to end this post with "I don't have enough information to send a support request with this" but I dunno, maybe I do now?

5 times Billie and reader almost expose their relationship + 1 time they officially announce their relationship
a/n: got excited about this one so I immediately put on a romcom playlist and started writing so uhm four weeks or so later I'm publishing thus lmaooo. I'm only posting it because I'm about to ghost you guys for the next couple of days

COULDN'T HELP BUT SLIP AND SPILL
the first time billie just couldn't control herself. you both were attending a formal event in california. it was the type of event where there was a lot of noise inside and outside. you both were standing next to each other conversing with some mutual friends and industry people.
billie's mind somehow gravitated away from the conversation to you. the dress you wore was backless showing off your bare skin sure you had an expensive accessory dangling to decorate your back but billie thought her hand was way better. her hand started crawling your back tracing your spine. the moment you felt it you eyes shifted to hers warning her of what she was doing but she just smirked and placed her hand on your lower back instead.
social media had a field day with that video.
second time it really was not your fault or billies. billie was shooting for vogue and you came by just to show your support. the thing with being in a relationship is the pda comes a bit too naturally even without the kissing and overwhelming displays of affection. billie had some time off the shoot to which she chose to stand in the sun and you followed her standing right in-front of her just talking. it's a pity that from the perspective of the crew billie was a blushing tomato and it's another pity that specific moment got featured in her behind the scenes of her vogue shoot.
another video social media had a fun time speculating about.
the third time you were live in your own house in the kitchen. you were wearing something casual with a bare face talking aimlessly to your fans. billie came through the door of your room from slumber looking like the cutest koala bear still drunk from sleep. billie shuffled into the kitchen whisking you away from the camera angle by your waist for a hug and a kiss. you thought the camera did not catch anything or so you thought
the next day you find out that some fan caught a glimpse of the hand that whisked you away. the hand has tattoos that are too blurry for them to figure out so that one wasn't much of a big deal.
fourth time was so stupid really. it was coachella weekend and you went with your friends and billie with her family. in the midst of the days you and billie tried slushies at some hotel not far from the desert. billie chose blue and you chose pink thinking nothing of it you carried on with you day meaning you two totally kissed leaving your tongues purple. you two pictures of the day that soon landed on your instagram and so did billies.
once again the people notice how your tongues are purple because you both chose tongue out pictures to make the dumb. people were suspicious but you weren't seen publicly together the whole weekend so that one perished as well.
fifth time billie was being a drunk mess. she was on her australian leg of the tour way too far away from you. she missed you day and night worse when she was under the influence. so what did she do? billie wrote you an email telling you how much she misses you and how in love she is with you she's surprised she can even breath without you near all to send it to some publication company that she last emailed about her tour dates. believe it or not that email was one of the top trending news the next day.
billie was lucky she never typed out your name and she just used pet names otherwise you'd both be kind of fucked.
this was approximately the second to third year of dating. this was her longest relationship so far so she felt it was time to finally come out and say. it was your birthday so she posted some of the pics she has taken of you and with you on her instagram feed with the caption.
'' happy birthday my love you're the best thing to ever happen to me''

hi y'all. i know i don't make a lot of original posts here. however, on may 31st, i watched as my friends and peers were brutalized at the hands of cops from departments across california.
edit 6/12/24: students for justice in palestine at uc santa cruz has published a press release. it is easily the best way to understand what happened that night. please take a few minutes to read it.
uc santa cruz police made a statewide call for mutual aid in order to disband the gaza solidarity encampment located at the main entrance of the campus - initially established at the quarry in the center of campus on may 1, it moved to the entrance on may 20 in solidarity with the UAW strike. on tuesday, may 28, protesters barricaded the main entrance, cutting off the primary way of getting on campus; though the western entrance to UCSC was left unblocked (except for a few hours on tuesday), the main entrance remained obstructed until the raid began late on thursday night. this road blockage is what admin cited as the reason for the raid, along with "campus safety" and "academic freedom".
it's important to note that prior to blocking the road, students had been encamped for 28 days, and had been holding peaceful, law-abiding rallies since october. nothing worked. months of following the guidelines that admin had set, and of course student voices were dismissed and ignored by chancellor cynthia larive and cpevc lori kletzer (the latter of whom, by the way, showed up at 6 am "walking her dog" and smiled while watching her students get suffocated and beaten). the escalation would never have happened if student demands had been met at the very beginning.
hundreds of cops in riot gear from as far out as uc davis showed up to abuse students. over 115 arrests were made, including 3 ucsc professors, transported off by buses that were fifteen years past their intended end-of-use date and had also been servicing the campus prior. is this "campus safety"? is this "academic freedom"?

from just before midnight until approximately 9am on friday, cops kettled, suffocated, shoved, yanked, beat, and bruised students. one got a battery charge for writhing and bumping a cop after another slammed him in the head with a baton. another had a bag placed over their head, leading to suffocation, vomiting, and loss of consciousness. at least two protesters were confirmed to go to the ER that morning; many more have had to seek medical attention for lasting injuries.
arrestees were given a 14-day campus ban, including those who live on-campus (functionally evicting them & preventing access to their belongings), not to mention subjected to horrifyingly inhumane conditions:

you can find more information on various instagram accounts such as ucscsjp, ucscdivest, fjpucsc, ucsc_encampment, & jawsucsc. there's plenty of other organizations and people posting about this, too. please, don't let ucsc brush this under the rug. demand amnesty for the arrestees and protesters. contact any ucsc admin you can find. the uc has been utilizing police brutality to repress student voices across their institution, with ucla and uc irvine also being victims of this violence. do not let them get away with it.

free palestine, from the river to the sea. if seeing this violence sickens you, remember that this is not even a fraction of what the people of palestine have been enduring for decades. we will not let the university silence us, no matter what.
#palestine#ucsc#free gaza#the protester hit in the head with a baton is not okay btw. their concussion is severe and the injuries he sustained#might have permanent effects.#and remember: this is what is happening in biden's america.#this is not a hypothetical. this will not be “worse under trump”.#biden does not give a fuck!! israel has crossed his “red line” multiple times and he has done FUCK ALL#this is far from the only incident of police brutality under his administration and he has done FUCK ALL#he is not “the lesser of two evils” he is the exact same side of the exact same fucking coin#also if my usage of the phrase “from the river to the sea” is stopping you from reblogging this then your solidarity means nothing

How do you draw with rebornicas artstyle?
And how did you became rebornicas artstyle?
Well... LET'S SEE ... (i'm suffering, THIS AIN'T FOR THE WEAK/J btw english isnt my first language so excuse any mistakes :c) Ill tell you some things about the style but keep in mind, i've been drawing realistic stuff for years and also been drawing cartoons for about 2-3 years when i was a teen so keep that in mind, you gotta study other things too that i can't explain on a simple tutorial soo......
Ladies, gentleman and gay autistic aliens... I present to you...
MY REBORNICA TUTORIAL... SMALL... TUTORIAL.
(I ain't no professional on this, i'm a beginner on this style yet)
i think most of us try to go for the classic era but you can also go for the first one from fnaf 1 (You also gotta use the correct Mike uniform since the one where he has his tie on it's when he's working at the day shift because Jeremy took his shift instead :3)
When i was a kid and even this year i asked myself why all Rebornica's art was so fcking pixelated and thEN... I IMPORTED THEIR ART INTO MY ART PROGRAM AND DAMN DUDE, WHAT WAS THAT TINY AAAH CANVAS?!
Also, i personally use a very soft sensitivity for my wacom, the less you press the better(?)
There's a lot of detailed tutorials on how to study art from other artist, you can search it as "master studies" too i think. OBVIOUSLY studies are something you gotta credit ALWAYS, since it's a direct copy. Use references a loooot, i have a lot of references for these guys. ALSO, i recommend to study Mike at first since he's like the base of all the other characters!
I wish i could have made more of those Do's and Don'ts but i couldn't think of a way to teach some of them in a very simple way. But the most important thing to keep in mind is to not really try to correct much of Rebornica's old anathomy mistakes if you want it to be more authentic etc. :)
Here's some practice i did today before the tutorial and some from some days ago, I been drawing in this style since august approximately :D
Hope this helps even just a little bit, this can work with any style, you gotta learn how to study anything tbh!
Note: i might continue the tutorial later (reblogging this post) with some info about the body and stuff like that but you gotta know that at least for me (and other ex mutuals) faces/heads are the hardest in this style IDK WHY 😭

Ask Karma
Okay so since we're dispensing advice into the community for our newer members, I thought I'd throw my hat into the ring with an ask blog etiquette item that I think people have somewhat neglected recently: ask karma.
Ask karma is the practice of sending asks back to people who have sent you one. When someone sends you an ask, it is generally expected that you will send one back in return. It is to your mutual benefit to do this since now not only do both of you have asks in your inbox to work with, but it also exposes your blogs to each others' followers and can potentially gain you new readers.
Ask Calls are a Two-Way Street
Generally speaking, when someone makes an ask call, you should view it as a quid pro quo situation. Unless the person explicitly states in the post otherwise, they usually wants asks back in return for the ones they're sending out. While this is not always the case, like with me where I have way too many asks already and don't need more, more often than not, this is the expectation and it's bad form to not do so.
It's the equivalent of borrowing someone's pencil in school and never giving it back. At the end of the day, it's not super consequential, but the person whose pencil you just took isn't going to be super happy that they gave that to you and got nothing in return. You feel me?
This is especially true for written blogs, who I have noticed tend to get hit by this the most. Written blogs can get through their posts a lot faster than most art blogs and therefore need asks more often. But they also tend to get a lot fewer asks!
I experienced it myself during the PokeAskMagi event where I sent out around 20 asks from @askthewhiterocket and got back 7 in total for the entire event. By comparison, Shaymin Cafe also sent out around 20 asks and got approximately 12 in return. Not a lot more but it's still a better ROI especially consider Shaymin Cafe was the far less active of the two blogs during the event.
Everyone who sent an ask to Ask the White Rocket also sent one to Shaymin Cafe, despite the majority of the blogs I interacted with getting asks from BOTH of my blogs. In addition, during my final ask call for Ask the White Rocket, I got 1 ask in return for like 5 sent out, even after explicitly stating that the inbox was empty and I wanted asks.
I realize Shaymin Cafe is a popular blog and since I had two blogs, people probably ended up just sending an ask to the more popular blog of the two since Shaymes is a fun character and such. But the same thing happened last year when Shaymes wasn't even an active character and I was really only answering asks from Kyo's blog. To be quite frank, that's unfair to the written blogs, and unfair to me too.
It takes time to send asks. Ask hints make it easier, sure, but not everyone has them. Additionally, not all ask hints are incredibly straight forward. Some require you to read a bit in the blog's backlog if you aren't familiar with it to craft an ask that a person can work with (this is why I tend to link stuff with my ask hints). Some people might also want to double check the rules of a blog first or read up on the characters to ensure they're not sending a human character to a blog that doesn't allow them, or a Gengar to a character with trauma from ghost-types without expressed permission from the creator first. This goes doubly so when you're sending asks out from multiple blogs, like I was during the event.
That effort should not go unrewarded, so the least you can do is send an ask in return! It's just good manners.
This also goes for Munday asks
Admittedly, I am pretty bad about this myself, so we're going a little pot calling kettle black, BUT it's generally good form to also send Munday asks back to people who send them to you. Now if they're not open to Munday asks or w/e then no sweat it's fine, but let's be real, we all like to yap. We all like to talk about our characters. We all enjoy answering Munday asks, so spread the love and send asks back to people who send them to you.
Part of the reason I don't really make the effort to send out Munday asks much anymore and part of why I don't open for Munday as frequently either is candidly I got very tired of sending out like a dozen Munday asks to everyone I saw open for Mundays and then getting like... 2 in return. There were a couple weeks back in like July-August were I quite literally got 0 Munday asks, and it was incredibly disheartening. Like, don't get me wrong, I enjoyed coming up with questions for other people, but it was also a total downer to sit there the entire day waiting for asks to come in and then never getting any. Not even one asking how my day was or how my weekend went. Total and complete silence.
And sure, thinking of questions is hard, I get it! You wanna know my secret? When I was sending out Munday asks regularly, I googled first date questions or improv icebreakers. There's so many great questions to ask people from those. Sure, they can be be incredibly shallow and I'm sure any veteran ask blogger whose been at this a while has probably asked and answered whether they like coffee or tea better. But I'd rather answer that ask for like the fourth time than get nothing because then I'd at least get the opportunity to talk about my thoughts on both for a minute.
This also goes quadrupley so for the memes. There are times where I see people reblogging memes and going the whole day without any interaction because they're a smaller blog. And I'll admit, I straight up have sometimes gone on anon and sent them like three asks back to back because I didn't want them to feel like no one cared about them or their characters. They deserve to get a bunch of asks too, that's part of the fun!
And I think with memes the not sending asks in return is far less excusable because usually there's emojis or numbers that you can literally just copy and paste into the ask box. I cannot tell you how many times I saw blogs I'd never met before reblogging a meme post and it took me all of five minutes to go pick a random emoji and a name from their cast page and drop that into their inbox. It is quite literally that easy.
You should also, generally speaking, send an ask to the person you got the meme from too. Whether they were the one who created it or simply just brought it into popularity, sending them an ask for the meme is a nice way to say thank you for letting you use it too. It took time and effort to create and/or find that meme, and I guarantee you they did not do it simply because they wanted other people to use it on their own blogs. They did it so THEY could answer asks from it on their OWN blog. So give them the opportunity to!
FAQ
The blog I want to send an ask to has (insert species of character) and my blog doesn't interact with that (or vice versa).
That's fine! You don't have to send an ask in character if you don't want to. Sure that's the norm, but if the casts of your blogs are incompatible for some reason, then by all means just don't send an in character ask.
The blog I want to send an ask to doesn't have readily available/up to date asks hints.
You have a couple options here. You can read back through the blog to see what has recently happened to get a feel for what might be a good ask. If you're lucky maybe they'll have a taglist somewhere that'll make backtracking easy. But if not, skimming is fine too. Otherwise, just directly DM the blog and ask them what kind of ask they want. I've done this several times and that can be a great way to get a blog exactly what ask their looking for.
The blog I want to send a Munday ask to is doing a meme I don't want to engage with.
Send them a normal question then! I guarantee you they wouldn't be opposed to answering something opposed to the meme, and even if they don't respond, they'll at least know you tried to return their ask.
The blog that sent me an ask said in their ask call they don't want asks in return.
No need to send one back then! If they said they don't want any, then they aren't expecting any in return. I do this all the time! Sometimes we just like sending out asks for fun and that's a-okay!
The blog I want to send an ask to has closed their inbox.
That's okay! In this instance, it is perfectly reasonable to not send an ask in return. If they've closed their inbox, they're likely not expecting asks back. So you're totally in the clear to not send one in return. No need to go crawling through their submission box to send one in (people actually don't usually like this). Just maybe keep an eye out in the future for if their inbox reopens!
Unless they like explicitly made a post asking for asks within like the last day. In that case please tell them because they probably forgot to open it again (happens more often than you think).
The blog I want to send an ask to doesn't have an organization system making their story, characters, hints, and other materials used in ask crafting difficult to find.
In that case, the burden lies with that blog, not you. Organization is EXTREMELY important. Skins covers this a bit in their ask blog advice post. Having easily accessible tag lists, ask hints, and casts pages can really help with getting asks sent your way. In the same way it isn't fair to someone to not send asks in return, it's equally unfair to make someone scroll through a bunch of meme reblogs just find materials to send an ask with.
The best you can do in this situation is message the blog to ask them for what they want. But if the materials to craft the ask aren't readily available to you, that is on them not you.
In short, please exercise Ask Karma. If someone sends you an ask, please send one back! Thank you!

spotify's current price for premium in the US is $10.99/month, which is a dollar more than before they raised it for the first time recently. the average mcdonald big mac in america costs approximately $5.15. at the new price, you are losing the equivalent of 1 mcdonald big mac every 5 months, which is a tragic loss. however, if you cancel spotify premium, you will be gaining the equivalent of over 2 mcdonald big mac every month, or 25.6 mcdonald big mac per year.
you are a 14 year old tiktok user living in america. (no you're not, i know. we're playing pretend right now. come play in the sand with me. do you want to build a sandcastle). it just so happens that the 13th of april is your birthday, and you just had a birthday and got some birthday money. you've been getting really into [popular artist of ur choice], and you want to listen to them while you're on the bus to school, so you buy spotify premium. you start with the 3 month free trial and when it ends you remember how unbearable the ads are and renew your plan. you have this plan until you go to a four-year college, when you get the student plan. once you leave college, you split the family plan with 3 friends (you have 3 friends after leaving college, so you're already winning). you keep this for a year before becoming disillusioned with streaming services and cancelling your spotify premium plan for good.
in high school, you used spotify premium for 52 months, at $10.99 a month. in college, you used the spotify student premium plan for 48 months, at $5.99 a month. and before you began downloading music off the internet, you used the family plan for 12 months and paid one quarter of the price, $4.25. overall, you have spent $877.03 on spotify premium in less than a decade, not accounting for price changes. this is equivalent to over 170 mcdonald cheeseburger. if the average american eats fast food 1-3 times a week, and you mcdonald cheeseburger two times a week, that's 85 weeks of cheeseburger. 1.6 years of cheeseburger.
or let's say you're a tumblr user. you run a blog where you mainly post about various 80s and 90s rock musicians, and you enjoy listening to music. you've been thinking about getting spotify premium because you're using the free version and the ads are annoying. you figure even though it's $11/month, spotify premium is probably the better option.
a year of spotify costs you $131.88. five years is $659.40. a decade is $1318.80. 60 years is $7,912.80.
or maybe, you post about your desire for spotify premium and your tumblr mutuals immediately start keeling over and sobbing and writhing in pain. your friend stresses the importance of physical media and the fun of piracy, and you decide to believe them and you go to the nearest record store. the store i'm currently looking at online, which i won't say the name of because it's fairly regional, sells cds. most of them seem to be around $13 new or $8 used. you don't really care about buying things used as long as they work, so you tend to go for the used options, but you can be talked into a little treat every once in a while. you burn some CDs from your favorite popular artists, because you know they won't miss the $50 you just saved yourself, and then every month you buy yourself a cd or two from the record store.
after a year, you've bought 13 used cds and 2 new ones for a total of $130. after five years, you've spent $650. after a decade, $1,300. and in sixty years, when you're in your elder years, you'll have spent a grand total of $7,800. but unlike in the alternate universe where you spent $7,912.80, you own all the music you bought (or burned onto CDs). you can pass things down to your grandkids/pet fish/guy down the street who's really into vintage technology who will be excited to inherit them. or over the years if you're less interested in an artist's music you can sell them and get (some of, if not all of) your money back. and when spotify takes your favorite artist's music down or when your phone suddenly breaks, you can still listen to your music. music that you paid for.
you're an american. will you buy cheeseburger and rock and roll disc as god intended, or will pay the devil $10.99 a month to steal your soul?

Hi Nic!! What's the thing you most look forward to doing when you're drawing/painting? I've never touched a paintbrush in my life, sorry if that's a super broad question. But say, your eye watercolours- is it trying to reproduce the tones with a limited (at least to a digital artist) palette? The initial drawing stage? Painting in the wispy lashes and brows? It all seems like magic to me!!! 😍
Hello I apologise for the late reply! Race week was busy, and I wanted to give your lovely message the care it deserves (& also I just love talking about watercolours)
That's a hard question! I really enjoy the process as a whole (except when I am complaining about it, which is an important part of the process), especially my eye paintings because they're so intuitive to me by now.
But, a few parts I really enjoy are:
1. Choosing the palette — both the actual paint palette I'll be using (I have so many), and the palette of usually 2-6 actual paint colours I'll be mixing my colours from. I'm a bit of a pigment nerd, so figuring out which paints are gonna have the perfect properties (granulation, staining etc) and mix the colours I want very enjoyable
2. The first wet wash, normally working wet-in-wet (applying diluted paint to already wet paper), where the goal is to simply place your colours in the approximate areas they should be, and let the watercolour work its magic.
Here's a couple WIP shots of my Yuki eye, in both that initial stage and the one I'm about to describe below:

3. Getting the darkest darks in, and all of a sudden, just like magic, it becomes an eye! This is normally the third layer out of an approximate 4, and whilst I try to save the individual brow hairs and lashes until that final stage, I'll often mostly block them in here. An artist I follow on youtube, Arleebean, says often that if you feel your painting is going through the Ugly Stage, you've probably lost your values and need to get the (relatively) darkest darks in to bring it back to balance. It's a rule I live by, and that's what this stage is to me. I also get any freckles/spots/splatters in at this point, which is very fun to do too!
I hosted a watercolour workshop on eye paintings back in 2022 (and have another planned for this year), and here's a step-by-step I made of the first four stages (sketch, wet wash, mid tones, darks) in preparation for that. The final step after that would be, as you mentioned, any fine eyebrow hairs and eyelashes, which I think you can tell it's missing here

4. And possibly the stage I get most excited about, from about the middle of the painting onwards if it seems to be going my way, is posting it in the group chat or on here and watching my fandom friends and mutuals yell about it :)) Big fan of that, even if I am usually terrible at replying to nice comments :')
Here's a selection of older eyes I painted again as workshop examples, all using a limited palette of four colours (quin gold hue, pyrrol red, ultramarine, burnt umber)

+ a selection of more recent eyes:

Thank you so much for the lovely message! I adore your art (& seriously, if you're ever in the mood for an art collab or something, you know where to find me), so I'm glad you enjoy mine too ☀

I was going to say this in response to the tags someone left on one of these posts (1, 2), but it honestly works better as a standalone post, because as usual it’s gotten away from me a bit and is quite long:
(Disclaimer that, as usual, I’m talking about the animes not the manga due to my own familiarity with the content and that this is kind of a blurry combo of lore from Tristamp and Tri98)
Vash wants to be a shield. Knives, without fail, makes him a bomb instead.
So much of Trigun is about struggling with personal and physical autonomy. About people being put in hard situations and doing bad things to get through them. And they do actually bad things, like hurting and killing innocent people. Not just things that are mostly socially bad. Characters like Wolfwood are explicitly shown to have been trafficked by a cult and then brutally experimented on and then sent out to kill any opposition to the aforementioned cult.
Neither the narrative nor the characters themselves shy away from the fact that these characters have hurt people. Doesn’t hide the fact that people are rarely actually, completely innocent, that the greater good is often a myth perpetuated by greedy people in power. That it’s used to guilt or pressure people into compliance. That you can be good and kind and generous, while also being selfish and hurt and scared. That sometimes those more frowned upon qualities are going to be the ones to shine through, but it doesn’t make you innately bad. That you still deserve a second chance.
Because at the end of the day, in desperate situations where your primary goal is survival? Morals are a privilege. You have to be able to afford them. And almost everyone on No Man’s Land is desperate. Especially outside of the major cities. Everyone is one bad day, one disaster away from losing everything. If a Plant “malfunctions” or a sandstorm destroys everything? There’s no real infrastructure in place to protect them outside of whatever community they’ve managed to build for themselves and the resources they’ve squirreled away. It’s often just enough, no excess. So. Would you risk that for a stranger? Would you die for a stranger? Or would you kill a stranger for your survival? Your family’s? Maybe. Probably. Desperate people do desperate things.
Vash might be the only person alive who could kill Knives. Some people might even think it’s his job, his duty, to prevent all the harm that Knives doles out. That it’s Vash’s fault, that he’s culpable for all the deadly, terrible things Knives has done and that have been done in his name. Killing Knives is for the greater good. But he’s still Vash’s brother. You’re still asking him to kill his brother. And maybe Vash is scared of him. Maybe, on some level, he even hates him. But even while Knives is killing himself in an attempt to destroy everyone and everything else Vash cares about, Vash is still worried about him. He still doesn’t want him dead.
And Knives always makes Vash responsible. The Big Fall, the Fifth Moon Incident, Jeneora Rock, Lost JuLai/July. None of these things would have happened if Knives hadn’t made them. Vash was never going to put anyone in harms way like that of his own volition. But neither of the twins wants to be alone. Not really. Vash waited for him for an entire year when he went to get the guns.
But is that really love? Obsession maybe, for Knives. And desperation for Vash. Mutually assured destruction. Does Knives love anyone? He’s in a very unique position where he gets to define the greater good at everyone else’s expense. The other Plants, who didn’t get a say in his master plan. Vash, whose autonomy he completely overrules over and over in actively harmful and willfully malicious, cold, and calculated ways. Kids like Wolfwood and Rollo and an uncounted, but horrifying number of others in bad, desperate situations who were “blessed” enough to be taken apart under a misappropriated approximation of divine right. Not to mention the entire planet of humans he wants gone.
Knives is a weapon. He owns it, he names himself for it. And he makes other people weapons, too. Maybe it’s recompense for what has been done to him and his family. He doesn’t really protect anyone, but he’s a firm believer in revenge. And he’s privileged enough to call it justice.
And Rem told Vash to take care of Knives. Her last words. What could Vash be besides his brother’s keeper? So all of the shame and pain and sadness and guilt and damage Knives causes or could feel? It all falls on Vash.

OC Lore (Demons Pt 1) - The Underworld and the Named
So of the shitload of things y'all seemed to be intrigued by, you guys were kinda fucking w my demon lore so... Uh yeah I guess that's where we will get started.
In the depths of The Underworld (notably NOT Hell - that's an entirely separate city in The Underworld), demons run amok in all manner of ways. Some are cruel, vindictive, and vengeful, whereas others are merely arbiters of justice for those who have committed grave offenses in their living lives. Many are quite mischievous, but very few of them could be considered inherently evil individuals, surprisingly.
There are many different regions in the Underworld (referred to as Circles), and these Circles are ruled over by the most powerful demons in the Underworld - a number of families that have been around since the Underworld came into being. These Demons are known as The Named.
The Named do not all have their own domains, of course, that role only goes to the seven most powerful of them, but many of them still serve important roles. Marax, for example, is a demon who serves the domains of Lust and Greed, but she holds no territory herself in the Circle of Asphodel where she resides. Instead, they serve as a "final boss" of sorts, and they train young angels in the post-war era to coexist with demons, as both of them have a mutual goal of guiding mortals towards ascension in the modern era (with angels trying to guide them towards being inherently good, and (most) demons guiding them towards redemption).
There are approximately 97 KNOWN Named, but there were initially only 73. Titles have been granted and taken over time, but in general, the Named are those who have demonstrated abilities that surpass most other demons.
Some notable examples of the Named amongst my OCs include:
- Susanne (Gremory): a Named who sought a new life, bored of her life in the Underworld. After an incident resulting in the murder of her mortal husband, she was cursed to fiendhood. She poses as a generally kindly older woman, but she also serves as a hitwoman (who acts on her own whims for her loved ones, really...). Aside from her status as a flesh-consuming Fiend, she is generally well-mannered woman who gets along well with and fiercely protects younger women. An old friend of Glasya-Labolas.
- Mordred (Saleos): another Named who grew bored of Underworld life. Descendants of Saleos manage her duties in the Underworld, but she prefers to align herself as a guardian of the mortal Gaian clans on Earth (ties into. Gaian lore. Shhh). She's quite easygoing and relaxed and dislikes violence, but she will not hesitate to protect those she deems her "children".
- Lyle (Belial): The third-born son of the Kings and heir to the throne, who took up temporary residence in the mortal world after being accidentally summoned by a young girl who had been facing abuse at the hands of her Demon-Hunter mother. He's somewhat snarky (as "teenaged" boys tend to be), but is also protective of others he cares about, and will use whatever means necessary to protect them.
- Astria (Asmodeus): The eldest daughter of the Kings, Overseer of Lust, and Governess of Asphodel. Despite all of her political titles, she prefers to spend most of her time managing her night club chain, the 3 Heads Nightclub. There are branches in each of the main 7 circles, as well as a few smaller locations on Earth. She's also trying to get a Heaven location, but... Well, angels aren't exactly the easiest to persuade to engage in such debauchery. She's charismatic and silver-tongued, and people suspect she has a secret harem of women that work in her clubs. This is all false, though. She only has one wife, of whom she is quite loyal to.
- Lucille (Lucifer): The first Fallen Angel, who willingly gave up her angelhood in order to serve as the eternal Judge of the Underworld Courts. She is strict and stern, rarely compromising once she has made her verdict. On top of being THE judge ever, she also serves as the Overseer of Pride, the Governess of Hell. It's rumoured that she had a sister once, but that her sister committed a sin so grave that she was banished somewhere beyond even the Outer Circles (which is the outermost region of The Underworld, and where the most "stereotypical" demons reside).
Among others...
Anyways, that's all for now! I won't yap on too long, but if you're curious about anything, please feel free to reblog with questions or send me asks!!!!! I love sharing my silly little OC lore and world building!!!!
#vii rambles about nothing#viis 'cs#oc worldbuilding#vii drabbles on for a page or two and then dies (writing post)

@abner-krill tagged me in the WIP ask game where you post the titles of your WIPs for people to send asks about. I just have one. The one that's been haunting me for approximately 2 years now.
1. Heist. (Star Wars fic, still part of my ongoing Starcruiser OC continuity)
That's all I've titled it so far. With the exception of the last fic, I've usually only titled these fics when I post them, picking a song title or something in a panic, but this one might literally just stay as 'Heist', as it was the original intent behind the whole thing. My brain just got fixated on: "but what if heist??" (If memory serves me, my original thought was along the lines of "how do I send the disaster bis on a chaotic quest together?" 😅) Actually, considering the previous fic's title, literally naming it: 'what if heist?' might actually be funny. I may actually do this, but we'll see.
I started this one before the previous fic, had a chapter of the beginning and a couple chapters of the end written, and had to pause and go "I can't write the end of this without the actual beginning" and pivoted to writing 'what if we kissed in the brig?' first to get all the base points of the Tal/Jeremy story that I'd had in my head down in writing. Naturally, as all these things tend to, that one grew much bigger than I expected and I took a year from inception to posting to essentially write a huge novel for them.
Returning to 'Heist' last year with a full vision of the beginning, I now have many more chapters written, but guess what? Guess what's mostly still missing in the very center??
That's right, the heist itself. 😂
I have a better idea of what's at stake, who is or isn't taking part and why, etc. But is it actually written yet? lol no
Part of it is that currently I want to do some work to condense the early chapters down at least a little bit so this doesn't turn into another epically long thing again (because heists actually require real planning and structure as opposed to my usual stream of 'oh and another thing!' writing lol) and part of it has been attention span straying with too many other distractions going on on a weekly basis.
So: Is there a lot of progress on that missing middle section yet? No, unfortunately. However, am I thinking about certain other scenes and how to rewrite them better on a literal daily basis? Absolutely. I'm just doing a lot of thinking and not a lot of writing, is all.
Anyway yeah... I've temporarily turned asks back on if anyone actually wants to send one about it. (Hopefully I'll not have to immediately reverse that decision, but that's up to the Tumblr bots and bullies, I guess.)
I think most of my timeline/mutuals that would care to do this have already done it (or something similar enough recently that this might be redundant, re: @lenka-mok ), but hey I'll also tag um... @ohthewhomanity @lokiina and whoever else wants to just go ahead and do it!

love your blog <3 youve inspired me to go back and watch campaign 2 again! however im now trying to avoid posts™ about it so that i dont remember everything that happens before i get to it. in the future would you mind adding a tag for all of c2 so that i dont have to block each episode indvidually?
Firstly, thank you very much, and I hope you enjoy C2! Unfortunately, I don't think I could come up with a method to incorporate a tag for that purpose and actually do a good job of using it to help you avoid reminders that way.
I mean this without any malice: if you or anyone else wants to avoid spoilers/reminders about C1 or C2, you should not follow my blog until you have finished your (re)watch. My current-content posts will show up in the various CR tags (critical role, exu divergence, c4 episodes once they begin, etc), and that's probably the best way to engage with my blog if you want to avoid prior campaign stuff.
The key hurdle is that I've never tagged in a way that purely sorts content by campaign. An art piece that spoils C2's ending is just going to be tagged "critical role fanart" in addition to the episode (if it's a specific episode event) and character names. Other content (commentary, gifs, screenshots, etc.) is tagged "critical role" and perhaps episode or character names. I also only typically tag by campaign party (vox machina, the mighty nein, and bell's hells) if the post references everyone as a group, and I instead tag individuals if it's anything short of the entire group. The reason I adopted that method of categorization is simply that these characters and groups can come up in other contexts, so I never found campaign-specific tags to be helpful.
In addition, I've only ever spoiler tagged stuff for approximately 1 week after airing (I did it a little longer for the C3 finale), and all my other tagging is either purely categorical or my own commentary. Like, the issue is that the tags themselves are probably going to include spoilers even when the content of a post or reblog doesn't. Since my tagging is otherwise categorical, I don't want to add something like a "c2" or "c2 spoilers" tag to a post that's solely about EXU Divergence, but I happened to reference a C2 character or event in the tags. I also don't want to commit to not referencing prior campaigns in the tags because that's my usual method of adding commentary and engaging with other blogs.
Further, it's going to be a tag that applies to almost all my reblogs or posts about CR content in Exandria. Because of the nature of C3's plot as a culmination of Matt's worldbuilding in the prior campaigns, a significant number of the posts I would make or would reblog about C3 will likely include spoilers about C2. This is especially likely for me because I adore villains, and my absolute favorite villains are the villains of the final C2 arc. That's as spoilerific as a post can get about that campaign. I can't even reference names without spoiling.
So, again, I totally get why you made this request, and I've got no ill will towards you. It's just that I doubt I could do a good job of tagging spoilers for past campaigns in a way that both (a) actually helps you avoid spoilers, and (b) doesn't require me to either miscategorize via tags or abstain from commentary in the tags.
I don't interpret any emotional or social consequence to other people's decisions whether to follow my blog. I know of several users that don't follow me but still check in on my posts. I reblog a lot, and that tends to destroy curated dashboards, so it's the most common reason someone would not follow me despite an interest in my posts. Others only want to browse specific tags in my blog and don't care for the other content (I see you people I follow who aren't mutuals and only ever like/reblog stuff about one specific C2 character and have never bothered with C3 or C1, and yes, you're only one of them, and yes, you all like different characters, and yes, you'd all loathe each other's takes). There's a lot of people who engage with my blog without following it or checking all of its content.
All that is to say that I don't think I could achieve what you're asking of me, regardless of what method I attempt. I do want you to enjoy watching C2 (it's my favorite campaign!), so if encountering spoilers is probably going to detract for that, I kindly suggest you unfollow me until you finish your watch. I'm not going anywhere, and I'll show up in the CR tags for current content, so it's not like you'd have to abstain entirely. I think that would be the most effective and consistent way to avoid C2 spoilers from me, and you could always follow me again once you finish.
You're also welcome to DM me if you have specific questions or just want to chat. I hope you enjoy C2, regardless of what you choose!

Introducing the world of TTTE: Sudrian Boys [TTTE: Sudrian Boys AU Worldbuilding, Pt. 1]
Now that I've worked out exactly what I want from my AU, I believe it is finally time to share the lore with all of you (one month after I initially promised it OOPS).
The lore of this world is a bit HEFTY to explain, so I'm breaking it into multiple parts. This part mainly goes over the history and background for my Humanized!TTTE AU, TTTE: Sudrian Boys. In later parts, I plan to cover things like Sudrian vs Non-Sudrian Engine culture, how the engines differ from humans, and more info about how the shapeshifting works in my AU, so stay tuned!
Also! Information regarding specific characters will be included in separate character sheets I will be posting at a later date. I'm also currently working on some fanfics that I hope will expand my AU further. But feel free to ask me any questions you may have!
This is going to be a VERY long post so read on under the cut!
Before we begin, some key things to keep in mind:
I am still actively catching up with the canon source material at this point in time! Thus, aspects of my AU are subject to change as I read/watch more of the source material and incorporate it into my AU.
This AU is primarily based on TV series canon (both model and CGI), as that is what I am primarily familiar with. Some aspects are also taken from the Railway Series to help estimate an approximate timeline of events.
At this current point in time, BWBA is NOT canon in my AU. This is mainly because I have not watched it yet and have no plans to watch it later (with the exception of the Michael White episodes that everyone says are good). The episode "A Shed for Edward" from Season 21 is also NOT canon in my AU. This is to say that in my AU, Edward and Henry still live in Tidmouth. It's my AU. I do what I want.
On that note, Thomas and the Magic Railroad is partially canon in my AU. I haven't gone back to re-watch the movie yet (I do plan to at a later date), so I'm going purely off of memory and what I hear other people say about it. Because of this, I've decided to basically just take parts that I like and leave behind parts that I don't. In regards to the canonicity of the film itself, I consider it as a dream Thomas had (that may or may not have actually happend. It'll all make sense later).
With the exception of Philip the Diesel Boxcab, ALL of the engines are adults in my AU. Yes, that includes Thomas and Percy.
With that out of the way, let's start at The Beginning:
A long time ago, when humans were designing the first steam engines, a young faerie fell in love with them. Her true name is beyond mortal comprehension, but engines of today refer to her as Lady (or alternatively, the Lady of Legend).
Though fae are usually associated with nature, this faerie in particular was fascinated by machines and the ingenuity of mankind. And so she used her magic gold dust to breathe life into the machines that she loved so much.
And thus she became Lady, Goddess of Steam Engines.
For many years, engines and humans lived together in harmony. The engines found purpose in being useful, and humans were able to travel longer distances and distribute supplies amongst each other. It was a mutually beneficial relationship.
But then, everything changed when the fire nation attacked dieselization happened.
Lady watched in horror as humanity turned their backs on the steam engines that worked so hard for them. In increasingly larger numbers, engines were getting scrapped for as petty reasons as "not being useful enough". In an effort to protect her beloved machines, Lady imbued them with more powerful magic.
As much as Lady wanted to, the Fae Court wouldn't allow creations of man to be taken in mass to the fae realm. So if she couldn't offer her engines salvation, Lady would at least give them a means of escape.
By around 1960, as steam was getting phased out, Lady blessed her beloved machines with the ability to shapeshift. If an engine ever had a desire to leave the rails, all they had to do was imagine themselves doing so and they could walk the Earth in a human-like form. This would allow them live lives completely independent from mankind. Being "really useful" was no longer a requirement to have a right to live, now they could simply exist and pursue goals of their own choosing just as any human could.
For steam engines all around the world, shapeshifting became a secret and closely guarded practice that they would only discuss amongst each other. Humans were not to be made aware of this under any circumstances.
Unfortunately, even after Lady bestowed the gift of shapeshifting upon her engines, hundreds of them were still killed under the cutter's torch. Steam engines are proud entities after all, and many of them preferred to die upon their rails than to live in hiding as something foreign. And since shapeshifting was such a closely guarded practice, not every engine who may have wanted a way out was able to be taught.
Even so, there were still reports circulating of engines vanishing from scrapyards without a trace, almost as if by magic. These were the engines that managed to escape and are now living secretly amongst humans to this day.
Fast Forward many, many decades later. We return to the Island of Sodor:
It is now the late 2010s to mid 2020s. The entire Island of Sodor basically runs as a giant heritage railway.
The NWR is currently run by Sir Topham Hat III, who is at the strapping young age of 83. (I saw this tweet from someone who asked Christopher Awdry if STH III is still running the railway and he said yes so we're going with that.) STH III loves his engines very much, which is why he has no plans on retiring any time soon. Still, he has STH IV shadow him closely in order to prepare him to take over the railway some day.
Because of the success of both The Railway Series books and the Thomas and Friends TV show, tourists flock from all over the world to get a look at the famous engines. Plus, being one of the few places to still have steam engines in operation (and so many of them in fact), you can count on many of the tourists being train enthusiasts too.
Basically, the engines of Sodor are all treated like celebrities. They are FAMOUS and are generally adored by the public. Whenever they go anywhere, you can count on someone knowing their names.
And because of just how many tourists come to Sodor every year, the economy is thriving and the engines are all very, very busy. Everything is pretty idyllic.
But sometimes, prosperity can get pretty boring.
And now, our story begins:
As with many Sudrian Shenanigans, everything starts with Thomas the Tank Engine.
One night, after Thomas delivers passengers to a carnival, he makes a wish to leave life on the rails, even if only for just one night.
As much as Thomas loves working on his branch line, delivering goods and passengers from place to place, and meeting tourists, doing the same routine for literal DECADES can get a little dull.
While waiting for his driver and fireman to return from a short break, Thomas let his mind wander. He imagined himself as a human person taking part in the festivities with the passengers he just delivered. In doing so, Thomas accidentally activated the dormant shapeshifting magic Lady had blessed him with many years ago.
When Thomas opened his eyes, he was literally much closer to his rails than he had ever been. The station platform was much higher up. And Annie and Clarabel were much bigger than he remembered. Thomas had accidentally turned himself into a small human man, just like he had seen in his imagination.
He freaked out a little at first. When they returned, his driver and fireman didn't recognize him. It was only after Thomas started going off about things that only he would know, details about events that happened decades ago, before they were born and had only heard about in stories, that they realized that this small human figure really was Thomas the Tank Engine.
They called Sir Topham Hatt III at once, explaining the situation. And while baffling and unbelievable, the truth was right before their eyes. They were at a loss for what to do, especially since Thomas didn't know how to turn back yet. They concluded to allow Thomas to enjoy the festival for now, let Edward take the passengers home that night, and have Thomas stay with STH's family until he could figure out how to return to normal.
While scary at first, Thomas did enjoy the festival that night. And he went home with STH in Annie and Clarabel. He got to see the island from a new perspective, and he very much enjoyed that.
STH III made Thomas's driver and fireman promise to keep this a secret for now until they could figure out what happened. But that ultimately didn't matter because Thomas went to say "hello" to Edward that night. By the next sunrise, every engine on the island heard exactly what happened to Thomas. Some told their crew, but most weren't believed. Even some of the engines didn't believe each other. But at the very least, every engine on the island knew something strange was afoot.
The news eventually reached Donald and Douglas, who swiftly made their way to Tidmouth Sheds. Coincidentally, STH was bringing Human!Thomas to Tidmouth to inform the rest of the Steam Team about what had happened.
It is at this moment that Donald and Douglas reveal that they knew about shifting for decades. It was how they managed to get to the island under the guise that there would only be one of them. They would take turns, one traveling as an engine while the other hid in their cab. The reason they both appeared on the island as engines is because they hoped the controller would be kind enough to keep them both (and he was!). If it hadn't worked out, they would have run away together as humans. Since things worked out in their favor, they didn't see a point in shapeshifting again. But now that their secret was out, they needed to keep it safe.
Donald and Douglas taught the Steam Team how to shapeshift, and the engines continued to teach each other until basically every engine on the island knew how to switch between the two forms comfortably. In exchange, however, only a limited number of humans could know about engine shifting. These include STH III, STH IV, and the engines' drivers and firemen. Basically, only those who really needed to know.
Nowadays, STH gives the engines a little extra time off during the day to explore their new forms. The Steam Team also has an apartment where they can live together as humans if they choose. Within a few months, most of the engines have gotten in the habit of shifting back and forth, exploring their world and learning new things about themselves.
Now in a new perspective, the adventures continue. 😉

15 Questions for 15 Mutuals
Thank you, @the12thnightproject, for tagging me in this post. Always great to get to know mutuals a bit more. 1. Were you named after anyone?
Nah, fam. But, there were apparently “talks” of naming me after Zinedine Zidane. Cool name, but thankfully they chose something else.
2. When was the last time you cried?
Maybe a month ago after watching a Disney Movie. I forgot which one though but sometimes they hit hard when you least suspect it.
3. Do you have kids?
No.
4. Do you use sarcasm?
Sarcasm? Pfft. Never...nah...yes.
5. What’s the first thing you notice about people?
Their overall build, physique, and face. I’m not too good with names, but I am a faces person.
6. What’s your eye color?
Boring Brown.
7. Scary movies or happy endings?
Happy Endings, but I do enjoy a good scary movie or story.
8. Any special talents?
Yep. The “fighting” part of my username isn’t too far off. I practiced and still train in various different martial arts, including Shito-Ryu Karate, WT Taekwondo, Muay Thai, Japanese Jujutsu, Filipino Eskrima and Dirty Boxing, Judo, and, most notably, Capoeira. While I don’t train to fight in a ring or cage, I feel like I could put up a fight should I need to.
9. Where were you born?
Approximately somewhere in North America. I’ll give you a hint—it’s not Canada.
10. What are your hobbies?
Other than training martial arts, I both draw and write. Am I any good at them? That’s for you and the audience to decide.
11. Have any pets?
Just a stubborn pup who once stole an entire stick of butter, buried it, returned to it, and ate it.
12. What sports do you/have played?
I played soccer when I was in Elementary school and played Percussion in Marching Band for 6 years. And then I started training martial arts I referred to in Question 8.
13. How tall are you?
Approximately one Riddle Rosehearts tall.
14. Favorite subject at school?
Microbiology, which is also coincidentally my major. Often we overlook the omnipresent microbes that can affect our daily lives. And, even when we study them, a majority of people are only fascinated by the extremely deadly stuff (typhoid, cholera, botulism, etc.) whereas our normal human microbiome can affect our way of living just as significantly.
15. Dream job?
No idea.
Okay, 15 tags for 15 mutuals...
As always said in previous posts from others, don’t feel pressured to answer these. That being said, feel free to tag yourselves in. I don’t have a lot of mutuals (and a few of mine already were tagged).
Okay, let’s see...
@ikemen-writer @lovely-bubb1es @silvioscape @0-n-1-c-h-4-n
....and about 11 more who wanna play. Thanks for reading.

20 Questions for fic writers
I was tagged by @dear-massacre thank you! I love you!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
0 as of yet, but I do plan on posting soonish!
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
Out of all of the fics I've written for Teen Wolf, my total word count so far is 1,115,142
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Predominantly Teen Wolf. I used to write for The Hunger Games and Divergent, but those have taken a back seat.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
I haven't posted full fics yet, but my mom's approximate top 5 favorites are
Spring Breaking the Rules - Liam and his friends are going on spring break and he invites his crush without consulting with his friends
Skating By - The Hales go rollerskating and run into some interesting characters who want Derek's attention. Features very jealous Stiles
Teacher Conferences - an AU where Stiles and Derek are dating during 3A. They run into Jennifer at the store the day before school starts and Stiles is jealous she's talking to Derek, and then the following day at school they get into a sass off
Operation: Hayden - Mason, Corey, and Nolan are afraid Hayden is coming back to Beacon Hills to reconnect with Liam even though he's moved on and they try to prevent the two of them interacting with the most ridiculous means possible
I Love You, You Love Me - all human AU where Scott dresses up for kids' birthday parties for extra money. Malia hires him for her young sister's party and he has major issues with his Barney costume
My top 5 most popular snippets that I have posted are
Stiles and Isaac argue about costumes from 'Here for the Boos'
Stiles' wetsuit from 'Lydia and the Princess'
Derek is concerned about Stiles from 'What Sees Us in the Dark'
Stiles is sick and Derek plays doctor from 'Doctor Derek'
Stiles wants to adopt the weird teenager from Louisiana from 'Needs a Waterpark'
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
When I was writing on FF dot net, I would sometimes, but I didn't have a lot of time. As soon as I get posting more, then yes.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Nothing Left to Lose. Bring on the brooding, inner turmoil, and mutual pining.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Most of my fics end on a happy note, or they're not super angsty. Off the top of my head I'm going with Family Practice because it's the fic where Stiles and Derek become parents and it's a very happy occasion.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I have in the past, yes, and it was one of the major reasons I stopped posting at all.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
In my mind, yes. On paper, no. I used to, but I never posted it.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
I have not.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I posted on FF dot net a fic that was really popular and then I found out one of my readers wrote a very similar fic. It wasn't stolen or a direct rip off, but I could tell it was very clearly based off what I wrote.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I've collaborated ideas, but we didn't write it together.
14. What’s your all time favourite ship?
I gotta go with Sterek. Always and forever.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
One of my old Divergent fics. I wrote it in Tris's POV and posted all of it, but then I was going to write it in Al's POV and I got halfway through, but readers will know how it ends.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I can come up with some funky fics. I enjoy my creativity.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Description. Either of the setting, characters, or actions. I try to flesh it out in editing, but it's difficult for me.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I don't personally do it because I'm not fluent in other languages. I'm totally fine with other people doing it. I just don't know enough to make it good.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Oof. I think it iCarly or Harry Potter.
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
I'm proud of so many of them. One that I always go back to entertain myself is If I May Say because I gave myself an excuse to watch YouTube while writing. Scott challenges Malia to only reply to people with the last thing she heard in the video she's watching and her replies were perfect and concerning.
#tag game#sorry this took me so long to get to#i had to ask my mom her favorite fics and she had to think

1: 37 a.m.
Being UNDEAD's producer meant one core thing - Night Shoots. Lots of them.
What a life, right? Only months before had Miyuki spent her nights hidden away and up late after the infrequent shift helping out at her family's shrine - Finally she gets a night shift job, and her internal systems decide she was supposed to be asleep approximately three hours ago. Is this a prank? Was she getting old? Is this what it means to be a "normal" adult?
'Gross.' she thinks, shuddering at the concept.
Case and point, she was exhausted.
Returning from an egregiously long and tiring shoot, Miyuki sees UNDEAD off once they arrive at the ES Building. Usually anyone else who's even awake at this hour would only be seen at the dorms, but out wandering about in the cold, was none other than Keito Hasumi.
Wait, what the hell was he doing out here?
Ye gods it was embarrassing. They've known each other for years, but upon catching sight of him Miyuki frantically attempts to find somewhere out of sight. By the time she finds one though, it's too late. Now in an awkward confrontation mid-sidewalk, they lock eyes. Neither one of them moving an inch until -
"Uh, w-what are you doing out this late?"
" I could ask you the same. "
They stood in deadlock, tension as thick as it was cold outside that night. Fidgeting with the trim of her scarf, Miyuki answers her estranged childhood friend
“Work ran late tonight, so…” She trails off, following up with
“You?”
“I wasn’t able to sleep, so I thought I’d catch some air" Keito responds plainly, in a bold attempt to mask nerves of his own.
"Right…" Miyuki nods, averting her gaze.
Further dread sets in as she weighs the options before her. She was either stuck walking home in the middle of the night by herself, or stuck facing someone she wasn't quite sure what to call anymore.
Panicking internally about how in god's name she could POSSIBLY save herself from this dilemma now, she's brought back to earth by Keito asking
"Were you…planning on walking home by yourself at this hour?"
"Er…kinda? Don't really have any other options…" Miyuki answers sheepishly
Keito sighs, head already in his hand
" W-What?" She asks, baffled
Keito simply shakes his head and replies
"How…Incorrigible. You've worked yourself enough today, at least let me help you this once."
"Seriously? You don't have to, really! I-" She stammers
"I insist."
Defeated, Miyuki sighs and accepts his offer, beginning the cold journey home in an awkward yet peaceful silence.
They walk the empty streets side by side, lit by lamp posts and the occasional series of holiday decor. Mesmerized by the quiet scene, Miyuki doesn't notice an uneven sidewalk ahead until she's already tripping over it. Not quite falling over, she's caught by Keito's hand grabbing her own, and warned about "being more careful" as one might expect coming from him. They finally reach the Miyasato shrine, but only upon arrival do either of them realize they never actually stopped holding hands after that. Maybe it just felt safer that way? More comfortable?
Regardless, now flushed at the possible ideas and implications in both of their minds, they part ways with sheepish goodnights. Hit with another wave of exhaustion, Miyuki flops herself amongst the pile of plushies and pillows on her bed. She mashes her face into a pillow and grumbles to herself, cheeks still flushed
"God, I've got to get over this…"
