A hand was on his throat... Two more pinned him to his office wall in a way that caused his spine to hurt. Pairs of disembodied magic that felt like this monsters way of humoring themself whilst mimicking his own magic.

At least... That was the rational thought...

“Doctor… Doctor Gaster… you don’t w... write like an Aster…” They went on… She went on. Not that their knowledge of his name (though that latter bit did surge a whole other string of concerns) was surprising. They had broken into the lab , and it wasn’t like his name wasn’t completely unknown. A hard task to accomplish when you earn the title of royal scientist.

“That…is my name… Though… I presumed you knew that before you broke into my office” The way those dark eyes bared onto him, his nonexistent throat clinched to brace for a less than pleased rebuttal from her but… That smile just turned crooked as she shook her head and let out an amused breath.

“B…broke in… now that’s f…funny… I thought it was a running theme for gasters to be too smart f…for their own g…good” That smile spread a little wider, taking away any rationality left as gleams of metal shined in that poor lamplight.

Vocab was once Gaster's brilliant junior assistant back in his AU. They experimented with determination and managed to extract it using the DT Extractor. One day, however, Vocab accidentally spilled determination into his mouth and melted his vocal cords on contact. Gaster managed to fix his voice, but for some reason, all the words that came out of Vocab's mouth started to take physical shape and form into physical objects.

The incident led to Gaster hypothesizing that the determination affected his vocal cords. As a result, Vocab could make anything with his words if he knew the material that made such things. He would then write a book called the "Vocabulary Of Creation," which would help Vocab control his newfound power by focusing his mind and speech harmony. The science and magic explanation of it remains illogical to Gaster. But as long as Vocab is safe, that's all that matters to him.

One day, an experiment including determination and the SAVE files caused a devastating accident that deleted their entire AU. As Vocab woke up, he was scared of the blank void and the absence of Gaster, who he saw as his father figure. He grieved for quite some time before he was startled by Core's presence. Core invited him to stay at the Omega Timeline. After moving there, he soon became the leader of the kids in learning and controlling their powers.

Vocab still has moments of grief for Gaster's fate, but he tries to deflect it with his duty. He's a good kid and the golden boy of the Timeline. He knows every language and can quickly learn about how an AU works.

Wait, but how and when did chara kill toriel

By possessing Frisk in all routes. The two shared a SOUL and Chara felt everything that Frisk was experiencing.

Chara is the one who directs Frisk through the Angel's commands. They believe you're the Deltarune Angel and thus obey your every input, even when they don't always agree with it. But they learn by your choices, and become your partner in whatever you choose to do. You shape them to hold your values.

It's "your guidance" that gives them purpose. Chara literally exists, awakened, by the Red SOUL and determiantion. DT is described as bending fate to defy death itself. What fights off death? Your will to live.

If you teach violence, Determination is getting the numbers up. How many enemies are left? That's what drives you forward. But in neutral/pacifist, what keeps you alive are the little moments that making living worth it. The sound of leaves crinkling when playing, a cozy small home, the sound of rain on a cave ceiling. Chara has the Save file in their name because they are living those moments, they exist by them.

Anyway to be clear this is what the "Angel" did in AFR (redraw specific):

neutral route: only listened to Toriel and that Froggit's advice half way. killed to get HP/gold. Accidently kills Toriel. Kills Undyne and any monster who's too tough to spare.

Resets after fighting omega flowey, does a complete pacifist run

After a few months of post-pacifist, Chara feels they "have to true reset" after something bad happens to Flowey

Frisk is convinced to continue True Resetting, looking for a way to help Asriel more than canon's outcome. This leads to the anomaly FUN value event of AFR's premise happening.*

(* implied to be caused by Gaster's messing with the timeline pre-game. the FUN values are (usually minor) changes to the timeline by cosmic randomness. the whole ability to use DT was originally something Gaster caused when [story beats redacted] which is why when AFR happens, the control gets weakened.)

Mod I absolutely ADORE that this dork tries and fails for such a long time to get back to his own reality, then connects with his 1.0 kind-of-dead dad (who is now, for unexplained reasons, wearing a wig and putting on an accent) on ACCIDENT. Rule of funny continues to screw him over and it's hilarious.

nah they're actually two different deltarunes, you can read about it on abby's side of the rp. gaster's deltarune was a pre-existing world, and he made the dark worlds/darkners later (this is the deltarune THIS sans is from). rouxlster's deltarune, both light world and dark worlds, was his own creation. his experiment to interact with Us. hope i cleared that up!

idk if youve answered smth like this before so sorry if you have but! whats ur take on the idea that the machine in sans and papyrus' basement formed a black hole causing it to break down?

as someone well-versed in the knowledge of black holes it wouldnt surprise me if while in use it ultimately broke down due to smth like massive inward gravitational pressure which forms a black hole. though the damage would probably be way more significant so idk. but its interesting given the theoretical possibility that black holes are wormholes and can lead to different points in space and time. thatd help give evidence to the theory sans or pap came from another world.

also worth mentioning that sans is a very science-loving guy (particularly astronomy given what we've seen) and papyrus is fond of spaghetti and the process by which you die in a black hole is referred to as 'spaghettification.' not rlly evidence just smth ironic lol. anyway just wanted to know your thoughts on this bc it really interests me regardless of whether its actually canon or not!

I don't believe it anymore personally, but that used to be one of the most accepted explanations for the broken machine back in the day! if i remember right, the pre deltarune version of the otherworld theory went that the accident was gaster creating a black hole which erased him from existence and sent sans to a similar but alternate universe where everything was the same, except gaster didn't exist. they were basically working on something that directly paralleled alphys's work in ut, so sans was the one who gave her the blueprints she used to build the DT extraction machine.

Hello!

New chapter! Unfortunately, Sans escaped both the Humans and the Royal Guard, once again. Gaster is very frustrated, but he still has hope he can find his son.

Some changes starting today. I'm frustrated with how often I'm updating my stories. I'm a very fast writer usually, and I feel like I'm not giving you my 100%, and it's annoying me. I decided to publish my chapters after I wrote them, which means without the help of my best friend. She will still correct the spelling and grammar mistakes, but I'll update the better version once she's done. This way I'm not harassing her that much with how fast I'm writing (because well, we're all adults now, with work to do, that's something that's happening when you're growing up) and you get to have more frequent updates, which is the good news. Once a chapter had been checked, I'll notify it in the chapter notes!

General synopsis :

Gaster made a noise of surprise as he caught sight of the strange phenomenon in the reflection of his monitor.  When his magic echolocation informed him that a monster had appeared from it, he turned, peering over his left shoulder, before fully turning to regard her, bandaged hands shuffling awkwardly in front of him.  

The DEEP CORE was essentially his private quarters and was kept tidy accordingly, save for that one table that was still askew from him slamming into it so many months ago.  The area was filled with magical and non-magical apparatuses, and it was hot despite the air conditioning, and there was the persistent, muffled roar of the CORE’s machinery despite the sound reducing barrier shimmering nearby.  

“... HELLO?” he both signed and spoke, confused by the monster’s presence.

Aaaand here he is! Everyone, meet Enginee! I had this shipkid initially meant to be an adopt, but as time progressed I kind of got attached... Not one for rare shipkids most of the time, but he grew into me. -w-

- Enginee isn't the product of any kind of relationship. He is literally a glitch gone... Right? Kind of.

( Probably a resulting glitch from when Geno left the Savescreen... It had an effect creating a souling in a previous point of the timeline so he exists pre-Undertale events. Is very aware of other universes and the 'Classic' timeline though.)

- Lives with Sci, Papyrus and a version of Classic!Gaster. Again his timeline still seems to run before a lot of the things from the game.

(including Gaster's 'accident', Chara and Asriel's death and most of the human souls ordeal.)

- Can't stand Snowdin because the cold freezes up the gears of his prosthesis.

(So he actually lives in the lab with Gaster. His Grandfather barely leaves there anyways, its no issue for him. Might worry Sci to no end... But he'd take hotland and New Home any day rather than agonize with stiff joints.)

- Doesn't enjoy leaving his 'AU' that much... But can with the use of devices.

- Birthday: 09/25.

(yeah, had him for a long time but was just too lazy to write a post. -w-")

- There's no other way to put it, Enginee is a pesimist and a jerk.

(with his 'condition' and all, he pretty much believes he could die anyday, so its his way of being kind by making himself hard to like. Its EXTREMELY blunt when talking about his possible death because no one else wants to, so he takes upon himself to remind them with subtle comments every now and then.)

- Will strangle you if you imply his condition makes him 'weak' in any way.

( Its enough that Sci and pretty much everyone in the lab is always hovering over him, HE CAN AND WILL throw an edgy angsty teen temper tantrum if you attempt to baby him.)

--> Just convincing his dad to let him stay in Hotland was a pain. Having to care for such a fragile child rightfully made him extremely anxious of leaving Enginee out of sight for long... Wouldn't want to come back and find out his kid disintegrated another limb.

- Sarcastic and pricky... But is sort of the motherhen kind of friend.

( If for some miracle someone gets to be close to him... Although having literally no regard whatsoever for himself, Enginee will always be sure to message them - worrying greatly if left with no response for a long time - and help whenever he can, even If that last one IS filled with complaints.)

New Relationship:

If you’re in a relationship with this man then you have to remember to be patient with him.

He’s never been in an actual relationship before and his time in the void has basically destroyed his social skills, so he’s pretty nervous about being a good partner. Remember to reassure him and let him know how you’re feeling.

He’s a bit clingy but also not? He was trapped in the void for who knows how long so he likes the physical contact and just knowing that you’re there, but he also worries a lot about accidently overstepping your boundaries. You should talk to him and let him know what your boundaries are so he doesn’t worry as much

He’s shy, it’s hard for him to voice his feelings and even harder for him to act on them, but he tries his best just for you

Tell him he’s cute!!! He’s insecure about his looks because he thinks you’re the most gorgeous person he’s ever seen and he’s just a pile of goop now. He thinks you deserve better but he loves you! Tell him you love him too!!

Established Relationship:

Once you’ve been in a relationship with him for a while, he opens up a bit more and is a lot less shy than he was in the beginning. He’s still not good at talking, but it’s easier for him to tell you how he loves you now, and it’s a lot easier for him to act on his feelings too, so he likes getting you gifts sometimes.

Speaking of gifts! Mans was the royal scientist in the past and built the core, so he knows how to make things. This being said,, even though the void has taken away some of his skill, he still makes you little gifts and trinkets sometimes! Little figurines and drawings that he special makes just for you! They’re not incredible works of art or anything, but he puts a lot of thought and effort into them because he likes being able to make you things!

He still worries about being a good partner, but that’s just because he thinks you deserve the best. He’s a lot more chill about it now than he was before though, and he's way less of a nervous wreck

Clingy!! Even after getting out of the void, he still has the ability to summon extra hands and now that he's more confident, he will have one of them with you to hold your hand whenever you want. He’s also a lot more affectionate than before with cuddles (in private) but he’ll still back off if you ask him to
