“Arthur Adams - Micronauts Unpublished Pin-Up Original Art (Marvel, 1983). A piece that pre-dates his first published comics work, this is a simply stop-you-in-your-tracks show-piece, stuffed full of detail and an obvious love for the subject matter! This pin-up features the looming figure of Baron Karza above the main Micronauts players of Acroyear, Bug, Huntarr, Marionette, Fireflyte, and Arcturus Rann (not to mention a slew of Karza's guards).”

Spring Boot vs Quarkus: A Comparative Analysis for Modern Java Development
Liberating industry with Java
Java has been a great asset for developers in elevating the industry to higher standards. Java has a lot of built-in libraries and frameworks, which makes it easy for developers to build an application and website. It is a set of built-in codes used by developers for building applications on the web. These frameworks possess functions and classes that control hardware, input processes, and communication with the system applications. The main purpose of preferring Java frameworks in development is that they provide a consistent design pattern and structure for creating applications. Moreover, this improves the code maintainability. This code consistency makes it easy for the developers to understand and change the code, neglecting bugs and errors. In Java, multiple frameworks are used, such as SpringBoot, Quarkus, MicroNaut, etc. In this blog, we will learn more about the differences between SpringBoot and Quarkus. Also, we will drive through the advantages of using it in the development process.
Boosting development with SpringBoot and Quarkus:
SpringBoot is an open-source framework that supports Java, Groovy, Kotlin, and JIT compilation, which makes it very much easier to create, configure, and run microservice web applications. It is a part of the Spring framework that allows developers to utilize the Spring framework features. This makes it easy for the developers to expand and construct spring applications. It reduces the code length and also increases the production speed. This is possible due to the automated configuration of the application built on the Java annotations.
Quarkus is also an open-source Java framework that supports Scala, Java, and Kotlin. The major purpose of preferring Quarkus is to simplify the development and deployment process of Java applications in containers like Kubernetes and Docker. It is also used for developing microservice Java applications with a minimal consumption of resources. It is very easy to use and necessarily less demanding on hardware resources to run applications.
Unbinding the differences between SpringBoot and Quarkus
Quarkus will be performing better because of its Kubernetes native framework, which is designed particularly to run in a containerized environment. Moreover, it uses an Ahead-of-time (AOT) compiler for pre-compiling the Java bytecode into native code. This results in faster start-up time and lower usage of memory. But, on the other hand, SpringBoot is a traditional Java framework that uses the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) to run applications. SpringBoot can also run on the containerized environment but it doesn’t have the same performance level optimization as Quarkus.
The greatest difference between Quarkus and SpringBoot is the size of the frameworks. SpringBoot is a well-established and feature-rich framework, but it comes with vast dependencies, which increases the application size. On the other hand, Quarkus is a new framework that has a much smaller runtime footprint when compared with SpringBoot. It also has a feature for optimizing the size of the application. SpringBoot has been in the industry for a long period of time, it has a larger community and a vast ecosystem of libraries and plugins. Quarkus is a relatively new framework in the industry, but it is attracting a lot of developers to its side. The community of Quarkus is small when it is compared with SpringBoot.
Conclusion
From this blog, we can understand the impact of Java and its crucial role in the development of applications. SpringBoot and Quarkus has made quite an impact in developing applications and websites in an unique way. Both of these frameworks have been a great asset for most developers to create an interactive application. Preferring the perfect Java application development company also plays an important role in a company’s growth.

A pre-Xmas visit from Santa in 1981! My first "Lion Rock" #Micronauts figure. My confusion and possible consternation visible in the photo is well-known to fans as these releases were after Mego was facing bankruptcy and were put out by their Hong Kong factory missing many key parts. But I loved these "army builder"/"replacement figure" sets and later would get more at KB Toys on clearance. My brother Eric @brickbraintv hasn't been corrupted by Legos just yet, it seems. How to Connect a Microphone to your speaker?
If you’re setting up karaoke at home, or just want to connect a microphone up to an existing device, then you’ve come to the right place. We’ll go through all the best ways to connect a microphone to following devices individually, so keep reading!
We’ll give you plenty of options to try, but keep in mind that they won’t all work, it depends which type of microphone and model of device you’re using, so check the user guide of each device and microphone to confirm which methods are compatible. No matter what device or microphone you’re using, here are the main steps you need to follow.
Connect a Microphone to a Speaker
Connecting a microphone to a speaker can be really simple and direct, if you’re using a PA speaker, or one specifically designed for singing or karaoke. This is how to do it:You can sometimes connect the microphone and speaker wirelessly if they have a bluetooth function. Some microphones use an XLR connection and others use USB.
If your microphone isn’t designed to take in a microphone input, then it’s probably because it doesn’t have an amplifier built-in. Usually, the output of a microphone is not enough to drive a speaker alone. This is why you need an amplifier to help. You can go ahead and purchase an amplifier which will be connected to your microphone and speaker to link them together. Or, you can purchase a speaker specifically designed for microphone inputs. Here is the DinDin best speakers for karaoke. There’s something for everyone, with the lowest option being under $65.
There are a range of reasons why it won’t work to plug a microphone directly into a loudspeaker, including:
Passive loudspeakers: Passive loudspeakers have no amplifiers and so no gain can be added to the micronautical signal. To drive a speaker, a mic Level Signal is much too low.
Active microphones: active microphones need some form of power (typically DC bias or phantom power) to work. Some active speakers, such as the Mackie SRM150, provide phantom power so that active microphones can work properly without being linked directly. Many loudspeakers have no such choice, however.
Let’s address briefly the difference between passive and active/driven speakers.
Powered loudspeakers have built-in amplifiers and need power for proper functioning. The driven speakers with micro inputs are designed to raise a micro-level signal to a speaker-level signal with enough gain. Therefore powered loudspeakers don’t need external amplifiers. But with multi-channel mixing boards and amplifiers they can still be used (and are still used).Passive loudspeakers have no internal amplifiers, on the contrary. No external power is needed, but external amplification is necessary to effectively project speaker-level signals (boosted from micro or line-level).
Active Microphones Vs Passive
For microphones too, the words “passive” and “active” apply.Passive microphones need no external power and have no internal amplifiers (though passive step-up output transformers can boost a passive microphone’s output voltage).
External power is required for active microphones (either through DC bias voltage, phantom power, or separate power supply). Vacuum tubes and FETs as well as the printed circuit boards of several microphones are the active components of active mics.
Vacuum tubes and FETs serve as both impedance converters as well as “pseudo-amplifiers” and demand control. Vacuum tubes need greater power and hence tube mics are also equipped with their own power supply unit. FET (and JFET) microphones can run on a fairly low DC phantom power of 48 volts, or even a lower DC bias voltage.
All condenser microphones, and USB / digital microphones, are available. When they have active components some ribbon dynamic microphones are active.

DAY 169: Hombre de las Nieves
Like most pre-teen boys, I collected action figures.
And even as Star Wars dominated the action figure market, nobody in my neighborhood really discriminated. When you “played Star Wars” at another kid’s house, bringing along random G.I. Joes wasn’t really frowned upon.
Fisher-Price figures mixed with Ugnaughts mingled with Buck Rogers characters assimilated with Micronauts.
But first & foremost, I was a comic book kid.
So, my earliest sights were set on the Mego figures.
My favorite being THIS dude:
And when figures eventually shrunk in size, I found that the Marvel/DC figures weren’t exactly beating Star Wars to the shelves, so I pretty much collected any figures that came along.
Even if they were connected to Disney flops.
Again, I didn’t necessarily discriminate. I’m pretty sure even Neil deGrasse Tyson couldn’t have changed my mind.
But by the time DC finally caught up to the action figure game with THIS,
I was too old to keep collecting. Even though the figures they were churning out
didn’t seem nearly as hokey as the comics connected to them.
At the time anyway.
But recently, I’ve been watching a lot of videos that THESE folks put out:
And their history of the Super Powers line is pretty great.
So much so that I have these pangs of regret that I didn’t collect more of them back in the day. I only had a Darkseid
& a Hawkman without wings that I found at a Goodwill.
I also regret that I’ll probably show up at Heroic Goods & Games sometime soon, looking for some of the rarer Super Powers figures.
A deeper regret that I’ll never get my hands on some of the foreign, non-Kenner figures.

Various Reading Orders/Collected Edition Details for the Guardians of the Galaxy
In this post I will lay out the reading order and collected editions info for the “original” Guardians of the Galaxy team set in the 31st century. I will also provide reading orders on a few of the modern Guardians with more obscure backgrounds. Without further ado, check out the lists below and have a blast.
Original Guardians Reading Order
This is a pretty much complete reading order for the original team. As discussed in the other post, most of the early parts are written by Steve Gerber. Then the major Korvac Saga crossover by Jim Shooter. Then the 1990 series is written about half and half by Jim Valentino and Michael Gallagher. The final three pieces are written by Dan Abnett.

Marvel Two-in-One 4-5
Giant-Size Defenders 5

New Warriors Vol 1 68
Guardians of the Galaxy 59-62
Korvac Saga 1-4
Guardians 3000 1-8
Guardians of Infinity 1-8
Collected Editions
My recommendations:
The original Korvac Saga is a must read for all Marvel fans. It is one of the true classic stories of the Jim Shooter era. The Guardians being in it is just a convenient bonus. If one somehow prefers the Guardians over the Avengers, might as well grab that second Tomorrow’s Avengers trade. The first one is easily recommended though. All of the early 1970s Steve Gerber oddities between one book. The Jim Valentino era is worth exploring if one enjoys pre-Image 1990s Marvel comics.
After many DnA fans continued to grumble about Brian Michael Bendis’ take on the Guardians in Marvel Now, the publisher relented and gave Abnett (now split from longtime writing partner Andy Lanning) some minor gigs writing the obscure future Guardians. Despite being a huge fan of his work, I haven’t gotten around to checking this chunk out since it was always presented and discussed as the pity project.

Modern Guardians Backstories
Star-Lord
Marvel Preview 4, 11, 14-15, 18
Marvel Super Special 10
Marvel Spotlight Vol 2 6-7
Marvel Premiere 61
Notes: Star-Lord’s stories here have minor inconsistencies. But also some quality art from John Byrne and Carmine Infantino. The modern Star-Lord, especially after the huge conflicts of Annihilation and Conquest is nothing like this kitschy spacefarer.
All of Peter Quill’s early adventures are collected in a paperback called Star-Lord: Guardian of the Galaxy. It also includes the strange Timothy Zahn (Star Wars: Thrawn Trilogy) written miniseries starring Sinjin Quarrel.
Rocket Raccoon
Marvel Preview 7
Incredible Hulk Vol 1 271
Rocket Raccoon 1-4
Quasar 15
Notes: The Mantlo/Mignola miniseries is a beauty, but nothing here is particularly compelling. The origin and characterization for Rocket was drastically changed by the Annihilation era crew as well.
All of Rocket’s early adventures can be found in the Rocket Raccoon: Guardian of the Keystone Quadrant premiere classic hardcover. It can all also be found in the Rocket Raccoon and Groot Complete Collection (TPB), which also includes Tales to Astonish 13 and their backup stories from the two Annihilators miniseries.
Groot
Tales to Astonish 13
Sensational Spider-Man Vol 1 -1
Nick Fury’s Howling Commandos 2-6
Notes: This has almost nothing at all to do with Groot as he is known today.
Mantis
Avengers Vol 1 112-116
Defenders 9
Avengers 117
Defenders 10
Avengers 118
Defenders 11
Avengers 119-124
Captain Marvel Vol 1 31-32
Avengers 125
Captain Marvel 33
Avengers 126
Giant-Size Avengers 1
Avengers 127-129
Giant-Size Avengers 2
Avengers 130-132
Giant-Size Avengers 3
Avengers 133-135
Giant-Size Avengers 4
Silver Surfer Vol 3 3-9
Silver Surfer Annual 1
West Coast Avengers Vol 2 37
West Coast Avengers Annual 3
West Coast Avengers 38-39
Silver Surfer 20
Fantastic Four Vol 1 323-325
Avengers: Celestial Quest 1-8
Notes: Mantis is wild. As discussed in my post specifically addressing her, Mantis has hopped across publishers. Those excursions are not covered here. The important chunk is the Celestial Madonna Saga from Avengers 129 to Giant-Size 4. Celestial Quest is a disappointing and disjointed follow up. Even still, Abnett and Lanning mostly blaze a new path with her, ignoring most of this baggage.
One can find Mantis’ Marvel adventures in the Avengers/Defenders War (TPB/HC), Avengers: The Complete Celestial Madonna (TPB), Silver Surfer: Freedom Epic Collection (TPB), and Avengers: Celestial Quest (TPB) collections.
Bug
Micronauts Vol 1 1-10
Micronauts Annual 1
Micronauts 11-23
Micronauts Annual 2
Micronauts 24-57
X-Men and the Micronauts 1-4
Micronauts 58-59
Micronauts Vol 2 1-20
Cable 38-39
Bug 1
Alpha Flight Vol 2 10-11
Captain Marvel Vol 4 6, 12, 15-16
Other characters such as Drax, Gamora, Adam Warlock, and Moondragon have much more extensive histories that are easier kept separate. Especially considering their involvement in the first and second eras of Marvel’s cosmic history mostly under the pen of Jim Starlin.

1977 TV Magazine Special: Microman BOOK
In 1977, Kodansha’s TV Magazine published one of the first of a number of what could be considered Microman “bibles”, Microman BOOK. Each of these works have contained many examples of gorgeous Microman artwork, detailed background information, toy photos, and more. This volume in particular contains a large full color section “The 99 secrets of Microman”, two manga sections by Yoshihiro Moritou (one main installment, one an “educational” segment on “ancient alien” Microman ties), a detailed directory of Microman and Acroyear profiles, and a section on “High-Performance” Microman Mechanisms.
Unfortunately, due to the low quality of the newsprint used and the oversaturation of the purple ink used, the last two sections mentioned are impossible to find (even in otherwise mint samples) without the pages having bled through in a barely-readable mess, an issue with most vintage manga using the same ink from that era. However, digital restoration can work wonders on this, and we will be presenting the restored and translated pages in future installments to come (along with similarly restored pages in our upcoming “lost adventures” manga posts).
Posts here will continue intermittently as usual (see our About Us section for more info), though to help speed up releases, projects going forward will likely be broken up a bit more into shorter segments (bouncing between various topics) that will be compiled later as each subject is completed.

So I’m new to micronauts in general and don’t know it much, but what do u think about the future cartoon coming about it? Would u say, as a fan it looks promising? I think it looks good
I think it looks interesting! It’s obviously meant for a far younger audience than I (27), but that doesn’t mean it’s necessarily going to be low quality. I’m willing to give pretty much anything a chance!
I’ll also admit that I don’t actually know all that much about the original toys or the Marvel comic so I don’t have any strong attachment to those that makes me think that this has ~ruined Micronauts forever~ or anything.
I’m quite sad we haven’t heard anything about it in a while; even pre-corona I was wondering if it had quietly died but it’s been very difficult to find any sort of news on it 😔
I noticed on your reblog you were wondering who the characters were – from left to right it’s Oberon, Xant, Biotron, Acroyear, Quin-Tillis, and Phenolo-phi!
