So happy Thursday, here's something small from the post apocalypse au where Stiles has a radio show and Derek realizes he's in love with the idiot while road tripping across America with his dad. Or something like that.

I do have funnies to share at some point but you can have some drama for a change instead. This is how Derek meets the Sheriff.

"Where is my son?"

Before Derek can so much as blink the man - the Sheriff - is in his face, the long barrel of a pistol jammed beneath his jawbone.

"I won't ask again," the man says deadly quiet before he sucks in a deep breath and roars into Derek's face. "Where is my son?"

Derek flinches back instinctively but he can't go far, the wall is at his back and the gun is shaking where it's digging into his throat. Despite this Derek still manages to stand tall, pushing back as a wild, feral grin pulls at his lips.

"I don't know where your fucking son is," he growls out, pitching his voice low and menacing. "But if you don't get your gun out of my face, I guarantee you'll be in no position to find him."

And he means it, every word. He would even welcome it. He can feel the bloodlust singing beneath his skin, the ache to his jaw and the itching in his teeth. He wants to feel the flesh give beneath his bite. The satisfaction of the kill.

Give me a reason, he thinks - begs. Give me one fucking reason.

The sheriff's wild, searching eyes rake across his face, looking for any sign of deceit or weakness where there is none to find. He reeks of alcohol and desperation and the stench assaults Dereks senses, forcing themselves into his awareness like a desert storm. In this moment, the Sheriff is not a man who can be reasoned with and Derek feels his claws itching at his fingernails, his snarl growing deadly. He should rip him apart. He wants to rip him apart and put him out of his misery, but something deep inside him makes him hesitate, recognising with bitter familiarity, the recklessness of a man who has nothing left to loose but hope.

The second he feels the Sheriff loosen his grip on his shirt, he shoves the man roughly away, knocking the pistol out of his face with a snarl.

The gunshot echoes across the street as a bullet slams into the stone beside his head, but Derek is already clear, holding up one hand to stop the response, even as he hears the tell tale snick of at least five people thumbing the safety off their weapons.

The Sheriff staggers, intoxication making him unsteady on his feet but the hand that levels the pistol at him holds unnervingly steady.

"Tell me what you know," he demands and his voice is surprisingly firm and resolute. There's no tremor. If it wasn't for his heightened senses, Derek would be doubting his initial assessment.

All around, he can feel the watchful eyes pressing in on them. The whole town seems to be watching now. The chances of the Sheriff leaving here alive, should he choose to shoot Derek, are non existent.

"I don't know shit," Derek spits, taking a step forward, fingers reaching to curl around the gun at his hip. It's grounding and familiar and it gives him the illusion of still being human.

"Bullshit," the Sheriff spits back, jerking his pistol to the side to add emphasis to his words. "That's his dog."

Okay but the thing about veilguard reviews is I don’t care what the gaming review sites think. I especially don’t care what some random ytuber who’s probably just grifting right wing nutjobs for easy money and has never actually played the games before thinks. I don’t even care what an unrelated but accomplished rpg dev thinks

The only opinions I want to hear are from 7 trustworthy sickos (affectionate) who had their brain chemistry permanently altered over a decade ago by critically hated yet loved by me specifically video game Dragon Age 2, and only after I hear those opinions will I decide if I’m buying it or not

idk if it's been talked about before but suzanne collins never misses a BEAT when it came to names, specifically coriolanus snow and dr volumnia gaul. just from their first names alone you can already guess what type of role might play between them (well... if you've read shakespeare's coriolanus that is. i do recommend it btw).

a lot of bits were taken from shakespeare's play for tbosas like the motif with scars / wounds / the body as being a microcosm of the nation, the common people fighting up against the government, coriolanus' hatred of the common people wanting to be "equal" to him, the rebel arc etc etc but i'm soooo so so interested in the fact that dr gaul was named volumnia and coriolanus is coriolanus because in the play, coriolanus' mother's name is volumnia!

volumnia is arguably the only female character in the play that has any depth (i am so sorry virgilia). his mother shapes her son into the warrior he is. she reminds him at every turn that he is nothing more than a weapon to be wielded. in fact, she's the one who gets her son to come back from his "revolt" against rome which ultimately lead to his demise. this parallels tbosas in the same way because dr gaul took coriolanus and molded him into the villain you would see in thg trilogy. she brought him back from d12 and then brought about the end of his humanity (a death, so to speak—at the end of the book he said something similar to this to try to save himself from lucy gray's suspicions but he was right because he did kill a part of himself to be where he is)! coriolanus snow's mother is present but off-page. her ghost haunts him, comforts him, but the 'mother' figure is the ever-present, all-knowing dr gaul.

UGH! like with just their names you could map out where they end up at the end of the story and that's literally insane. like the caliber of writing is literally next to none fr

Alright so I thought what if I shared my predictions about the types of the final evolution of the starters for ZA? (Yes ok it's my third post in a row about this game. But I'm very excited and I've been thinking about this for a while now.)

First is Meganium. I believe her second typing will be fairy. Let me explain.

In the trailer Chikorita knows disarming voice, a fairy type move. Now I know that just because a pokemon learns this move that doesn't mean they evolve into a fairy type. However it would make sense for her to learn it if she evolves into fairy. Especially since she has never been able to learn this move before. And don't forget that there is only one fairy type starter, Primarina. Wouldn't it make sense to make another fairy type starter? And wouldn't it make sense for this new fairy type starter to have a feminine appearance just like Primarina?

Alright now we're onto Feraligatr. I believe Feraligatr will be poison. Now I know this seems to have come out of thin air. But hear me out before you say anything. I think it could be poison due to the location and time period of the game. It takes place in modern Paris. More importantly it takes place in a modern city. Now we all have heard (untrue) rumors of alligators crawling through the sewers into the toilets of people. This is why I believe the second typing will be poison. After all sewers are crawling with poison types in this universe. And if they live in the sewers that means they most likely live off of trash and the pokemon that live there. Which at the very least means that these gators have developed a resistance to poison.

It could also be fighting but I'm sticking to poison since it's more unique.

Lastly is Emboar. I'm pretty iffy on this one but I can't leave my underdog (or underpig in this case) out. I think it may be ground. A fact we all know about pigs is that they love mud. They love to bathe in it and play in it... Yeah that's all I got. Sorry fellow Emboar fans.

So! I know there's at least a few folks speculating on what additions will be included in Super Robot Wars Y's roster, but I think it would be interesting if a little methodology is applied to the process, like compiling data from akurasu.net into a mini-chart like the one below:

"Units Sans Series" means playable units not tied to an already existing storyline, either because the series is set post-epilogue (like Combattler V or Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam in SRW 30) or because the source has no storyline (like Mazinkaiser Infinitism in SRW 30).

I have not included data from the mobile games DD or X-Ω since they'd act as an outlier, but it should be noted that both games have debuted series that haven't been featured on consoles yet.

Based on the data from past series, there's a few trends from past iterations of the series that I think should be taken into consideration when making speculations:

The company that makes Super Robot Wars is a subsidiary of Bandai-Namco, and as far as I'm aware, that means they don't have to pay licensing fees to use Bandai-Namco's IP; as we can see from the graph above, every game (except maybe Z3.1?) has at least a plurality, if not outright majority, of B-N titles, and Y's roster continues this practice with half of it's currently announced titles: two Gundam series, a Code Geass film, and Aura Battler Dunbine.

Series debuts tend to be limited compared to returning series, but once a series has been introduced in a previous title, the development of gaming assets for that series means it's now cheaper to include it again at some point, barring licensing fees and other factors. The fact that Getter Robo Arc and Macross Delta The Movie: Passionate Walküre, for example, were previously introduced in mobile games means their assets could be refined from already existing material rather than made out of whole cloth.

Given the total series listed for previous games, we can probably expect the roster for Y to at least double. However, the number of entries can be deceptive: in previous games like SRW V, for example, Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam, Full Metal Panic!, and the Rebuild of Eva films were counted as 3 or more entries each due to how their media is formatted, despite being a single storyline, and in SRW 30, Mobile Suit Gundam (1979) is counted despite its only contribution being a recreation of the RX-78-2 Gundam as Amuro Ray's starter unit and a single mission to Jaburo that involved fighting Z'Goks. This means Y could potentially include 'additional' series like Mobile Suit Gundam the Witch from Mercury Season 2, Macross Delta the Movie: Absolute Live!!!!!!, or other Code Geass films, or even side stories like Revenge of J Gundam or Vanadis Heart.

Every non-OG SRW game has included a Mazinger Z-related entry, and the only one that didn't include Koji Kabuto was SRW UX, which had Mazinkaiser SKL.

Not included in the data from akurasu.net, it should also be noted that series will sometimes get included as a result of various X-factors, such as the cross-promotion of a sequel or a new toyline, or as part of a business deal with another company. For example, Studio Khara, which made the Rebuild of Eva films, has been collaborating with Bandai on Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX for several years now. It's extremely improbable that GQuuuuuuX would be included since, as of this writing, it hasn't premiered yet, but the last Eva film Thrice Upon a Time was completed back in 2021, and while it was too late to include in 30, the current working corporate relationship could be a factor in it getting included in Y. Another possibility might be the film Expelled from Paradise, which was previously introduced in SRW T, and has had a sequel announced for 2026.

One last note, there's been an interest in cultivating an international audience for Super Robot Wars for sometime, with V, X, and T receiving English translations despite not being officially released in regions like North America, and series like Cowboy Bebop being included in T specifically to cater to a potential U.S. audience. Titles that were more popular outside of Japan like The Vision of Escaflowne or The Big O or the like could be potentially included for that reason.

I don't know that these are actual rules that the company applies or anything, but previous patterns can be useful when predicting the future, so I think it's worth looking at.

The announcement yesterday gave me so much brainrot so here are some SRWY predictions/theories that will see how it ages once the full roster is announced ✨

-More of a assumption but due to production I get the vibe shows from last year don’t have a shot getting into the base roster depending on dev time, any newly added shows are def any in 2021-2022, maybe a couple squeezed in from 2023 but not as likely as the other two as I assume development for this started late 2022-early 2023. That being said, I feel like it will be a crime if Bravern isn’t here given it’s still big japan even now with how many ads it’s in, plus it came out early 2024 that adding it in as dlc still seems possible. A shame it’s not in the base roster but it’ll definitely give the dlc a reason to sell.

-Other stuff like Grendizer U I would like to see in SRW (despite still not watching it) but being in July means it’s probably a bit too late for even dlc so we maaaay need to wait for the next srw. That being said I’m curious what they’ll use to rep mazinger as I personally can’t see Infinity coming back a third time- maybe will get Mazinkaiser or shin? (Pipe dream is SKL but that’s SADLY not happening)

-Interestingly Gwitch is only labeled as season 1 which does lineup to the theory of 2023 shows are probably being excluded as well though my friends who seen Gwitch saids season 2 has more stuff going on- it’s still odd if season 1&2 were considered two series entries or if season 2 was made as dlc-that would be a bit much-but maybe this is POSSIBLY hinting at this next SRW will be a continuous trilogy of games rather the a new universe each time ala the Z games? So s2 will be adapted on the next “Y” game. (Though saying Y2 gonna sound pretty weird lol) Overall I’d take this over gwitch season 2 being dlc or not included at all or weirdly being considered it’s own series even if it does make it to base roster I just don’t know how likely this’ll be

-in terms of “‘new stuff that’s for sure not making it” Gqux (I’m shortening all the Us sorry) would be cool to see but it’s still not fully out and it’ll probably be out ONCE this game is close to release, so sadly it probably doesn’t have a shot of being even dlc but there’s at least next game! The new Rayearth show also definitely up there in “better luck next time” as we still don’t have anymore news on that, but the girls were in T and 30 back to back so I think they can sit out for awhile

-Gridman has not been confirmed to be one of the returning units from 30 YET but I think it be criminal not to bring it back if only for the fact they could use the sequel Dyanzenon as a paired unit with it- though I haven’t seen either but I do hope Dyanzenon is used at all cause logically it makes the most sense after Gridman got into SRW at all

-It’s too early to know if they’re being back arma AGAIN but I think arc should be standalone and we can go another game without the big 3 needing to be a thing as getter wasn’t even in X, interestingly we haven’t seen mazinger or OG gundam rep in this trailer but they probably will be here as they’re more of stables then getter sadly. I think it be more interesting if a new big 3 was formed out of other protags especially if arc and gwitch decide to go with a theme of the new generation passing the torch though I think T already did something similar? I have a lot of general wants for how arc is going to be in this game but the main hope is that for this game ryoma can stay out for once (if they make him a enemy unit as emperor I’ll be GIGGLING but I understand completely if they don’t even touch the end of arc)

-Finally to end off with my delusional hopes ✨ if shin jeeg or big o return at all I’ll be excited. I know it’s not happening, please don’t make fun of me I know even jeeg being dd doesn’t mean shit, but I’m putting these here anyways as they’re my pipe dream roster hopes.

I watched squid game season 2 the way god intended (without rewatching season 1 first and I completely skipped the recap so I didn't remember what the frontman looked like)

This project is unfinished and will remain that way. There are bugs. Not all endings are implemented. The ending tracker doesn't work. Images are broken. Nothing will be fixed. There's still quite a bit of content, though, so I am releasing what's here as is.

Tilted Sands is a project I started back when AI Dungeon first came out--the very early version you had to run in a Google colabs notebook. Sometime in late 2018, I think? I was a contributor at Botnik Studios at the time and I was delighted by AI Dungeon, but I knew it would never be a truly satisfying choose your own adventure generator on its own. I would argue that the modern AI Dungeon 2 and NovelAI don't fully function as such even now. That's not how AI works. It has to be guided heavily, the product has to be sculpted by human hands.

Anyway, it inspired me to use Transformer--a GPT2 predictive text writing tool--to craft a more coherent and polished but still silly and definitely AI-flavored CYOA experience. It was an ambitious project, but I was experienced with writing what I like to call "cyborg" pieces--meaning the finished product is, in a way, made by both an AI/algorithm/other bot AND a human writer. Something strange and wonderful that could not have been made by the bot alone, nor by the human writer alone. Algorithms can surprise us and trigger our creative human minds to move in directions we never would've thought to go in otherwise. To me, that's what actual AI art is: a human engaging in a creative activity like writing in a way that also includes utilizing an algorithm of some sort. The results are always fascinating, strangely insightful, and sometimes beautiful.

I worked on Tilted Sands off-and-on for a couple years, and then the entire AI landscape changed practically overnight with DALL-E and ChatGPT. And I soon realized that I cannot continue working on this project. Mainstream, corporate AI is disgustingly unethical and I don't want the predictive text writing I used to enjoy so much to be associated with "AI art". It's not. Before DALL-E and ChatGPT, there were artists and writers who made art by utilizing algorithms, neural networks, etc. Some things were perhaps in an ethical or legal grey area, but people actually did care about that. I remember discussing "would it be ethical to scrape [x]?" with other writers, and sharing databases of things like commercial advertising scripts and public domain content. I liked using mismatched databases to write things, like a corpus of tech product reviews that I used to write a song. The line between transformative art and fair use vs theft was constantly on all of our minds, because we were artists ourselves.

All of the artists and writers I knew in those days who made "cyborg art" have stopped by now. Including me.

But I poured a lot of love and thought and energy into this silly little project, and the thought of leaving it to rot on my hard drive hurt too much. It's not done, but there's a lot there--over 14,000 words, multiple endings and game over scenarios. I had so much fun with it and I wanted to complete it, but I can't. I don't want it to be associated in any way with the current "AI art" scene. It's not.

Please consider this my love letter to what technology-augmented art used to be, and what AI art could have been.

I know I'm not the only one mourning this brief but intense period from about 2014-2019 in which human creativity and developing AI technology combined organically to create an array of beautiful, stupid, silly, terrible, wonderful works of art. If you're also feeling sad and nostalgic about it, I hope you find this silly game enjoyable even in its unfinished state.

In conclusion:

Fuck capitalism, fuck what is currently called AI art, fuck ChatGPT, fuck every company taking advantage of artists and writers and other creative types by using AI.

This is my predictions for the Christmas update cuz I know most of them could be in but I not sure! This is my predictions and only for fun!

We already know we getting new Christmas event toons only during the new Christmas update! So that clears it!

We might get new currency only for Christmas! If you play flavor frenzy on roblox (made by the same people behind dandys world), you probably know that each holiday event will get event only currency to buy event things!! As we can see, the currency could be the Christmas cookies we see In behind the scenes

I think there’s going to be Christmas maps and maybe some of them could have posters of the Christmas event toons? Maybe new storyboards and other cool stuff?

I not sure if they gonna do this but maybe event chapters (or maybe call it episodes?) that could maybe happen, kinda like how flavor frenzy have chapters for events that once you complete the story for this event, you get a event bear for it, something like that? But I not really sure about it?
