He doesn’t tell anyone about the worst parts of it; the aches that score bone-deep and radiate through his muscle tissue and nervous system, the numbed and prickly pieces of his body that he can’t feel at all, or the arrant humiliation of knowing that someone much, much less intelligent than him had been allowed to cause this much harm– to name a few.

Steve Neumann. Sean Jacobs. Dave McEvoy. Their families will never see them again, and Lonnie has helped make that happen.

There is something gut-wrenchingly devastating in how completely, how irreparably, a fascist child playing soldier dress up has razed Anarky to the ground. Tim is half-undressed from his gear, his belts and cape discarded in a chair by the wall, and his gloves are dangling off the arm of the one he’s pulled up next to Lonnie’s bed. His hair is disheveled, and at its current length, it flops to either side of his temples, curling a tad around his ears. It’s a strange contrast to the cropped cuts he’d gelled to the nines back in the day, and Lonnie suspects that if he were to reach out and touch it, it would be softer than he’s ever seen it before. If not somewhat sweaty, that is.

“Your turn.” Tim mentions, which draws Lonnie’s attention back to the game–

Where it becomes evident that he’s losing. Badly.

“I hope this hasn’t been too easy for you.” The computer pipes up, as Lonnie simultaneously stalls for time, and watches Tim’s reaction.

Alas, it reveals everything that Lonnie was afraid of.

“What? Of course not.” Tim laughs, too hastily, too stridently.

Fancying a sigh, the anarchist resigns the game, the sting of disappointment washing frigidly through his veins, not unlike the feeling of the IV drip when it releases medicine into his bloodstream.

“Hey– you could have come back from that.” Tim is trying to placate Lonnie, and the spider knows this. But it tastes bitter against Lonnie’s tonsils, so in spite of Tim’s most well-meaning intentions, he rejects them.

“I’m not going to insult you by banking on you losing to gross negligence or sheer accident. It’s fine. Let’s start again.”

Lonnie invites Tim to a new game, and in silence, the pair begin.

It takes less than ten moves for Lonnie to get wise to what Tim is doing.

He resigns again, which makes Tim blanch, his head shooting up to peer at his friend in unwarranted surprise. “You were winning!”

Lonnie can’t clench his jaw, nor hit the keys on a virtual keyboard with any force, but he hopes that the voice of the screen reader makes his disdain apparent. “Do you have any idea how belittling it is to let me win?”

Tim Drake is known to be a fantastic liar. But Lonnie Machin is known to be truthful to a fault. He identifies Tim’s tells as they happen. “I wasn’t–”

“Save it.” The robotic voice cuts him off, and Tim’s jaw shutters. “If you’re not going to play a fair game, I don’t want to participate. I won’t enable cheating, and I certainly won’t be complicit in it. I can’t believe you’d try something like that.”

Red Robin passes like a cloud over Tim’s icy eyes. “I didn’t want you to get discouraged.”

Lonnie itches to laugh. “Whatever. Let’s get back to business; we have a lot to do, don’t we?”

“Let's get back to business.” Lonnie pushes harder.

Hi!! First of all, I want to say sorry bc I haven't been posting much lately, the energy of the eclipse is making me feel drained and also everything has been really hectic these days.

I will split this reading in two because is really long, like REALLY long. At least the tarot part. A lot of cards fell.

I think in early stages of the relationship he would feel insecure or shy, but he would open up and offer his sincere feelings from the beginning. He would like to give his all to his partner and start very innocently, but as the relationship progresses his insecurities will make him slowly isolate himself. He may feel that he can’t provide enough or be present enough because of his responsibilities or he might feel left in the cold at times even though the other person is making the effort.

Aside from his insecurities, I think he would put a lot of care into it, like a plant, he would nurture the connection and take care of the relationship. He would be very caring and kind. He would love to keep doing that for a long period of time. I’m getting that he would like to see how the relationship will develop in the future and he would be very excited about who he will become and how they both will grow and transform with the relationship. It's like he wants to have a time machine and see how they both would look like as an old couple.

His ultimate goal is to spend a lot of time with them, to feel fulfilled. I think that when he’s in a relationship he often sees it as the completion of a cicle or something that needed to happen in order to grow and become a better person. I’m getting he enters in a relationship with the final goal of knowing the person deeply and know if they can take the next step live together or marriage and he doesn’t like to waste time in unfulfilling relationships. I got kind of a side note. He might be prone to deception. I think he often idolizes his partners, like really putting them on the highest pedestal but since they’re only humans, he would feel betrayed when they fall from it. It’s not entirely his fault, because I don’t think he does this intentionally, but it’s not his partner’s fault either, because it’s not their responsibility to fit the idea he has of them. I think because he idolizes his person he doesn’t see their flaws at first, no matter how heavy those are, so once reality hits is really painful.

I think he would feel terrible after putting them down the pedestal, but at the same time, from the start he knew deep in his heart that this would’ve happened, because it happened before, but he’s always sure he’s not idolizing the other person until it’s too late and then he gets hurt and everything falls apart. I’m getting that at times like this he feels guilty as well because he knows he should expect nothing, but he can’t slow down his feelings or thoughts, it just happens.

Aside from that I’m getting that he narrows his options, I don't understand if it's before he's in the relationship or after, tho. He’s a one person’s boy, he will fixate over someone. He loves so intensely that anything else just disappears. Not like he would be overly possessive or obsessive, but he will be loyal, committed and exclusive. He would like to do romantic things together and he just wants to freeze time to make the most of it with his lover. He would like to take all of his ideas and the romantic stuff he envisions and make them all a reality with his partner. I also think that I'm becoming a yapper with this kind of readings, I usually don't like to write much at the end of the posts like I'm doing rn, I want to keep it simpler, but it's like when you hang out with extroverted people and you end up matching their energy, that's what I feel after connecting with this kind of energies.
