no okay but mysims dr au would fucking slap. protag as your customisable mc, support makoto, antag brandi. beebee as a blackened maybe, killing preston in self defence after him attacking her and being wracked with guilt over it during her trial. chaz accidentally killing tim a la mondo and chihiro. summer and liberty being taken out in a chapter 3 double kill - fucked up if it’s by travis. esma as the mastermind, but surprise twist, she’s not, she’s the mukuro of the game with morcubus being true despair. this would bang so hard sorry

random ramblings of an old au

this is about mysims and specifically this au from years ago

it follows derek attending the royal academy and learning to make friends and accepting himself along the way

synopsis of the story under the cut

characters we follow mostly

- derek’s main friends include buddy and lyndsay, who are natives to the kingdom, and evelyn, who enrolled in her sophomore year after her dad got remarried. coincedentally, she and derek are from the same city. buddy and derek are roommates and so are lyndsay and evelyn

- other characters include the RA kids. the royal academy is prestigious school that mostly rich/influential or people with connections to the king (like buddy and lyndsay whose families work directly with the royal family). Travis’ family is an entertainment and party supply conglomerate and Summer’s family has lots of advertisements. Chaz’s dad is just rich (and used to be a fairly famous actor before living comfortably as a normal guy). Liberty is a scholarship student and feels self conscious about her place in school.

- (also chaz and evelyn are step siblings. chaz is a decent guy when he and evelyn are alone but in public he acts like he doesn’t know her. this is also why evelyn is in this school)

- (also also derek is sort of related to king roland. the late queen was his distant great aunt. he doesn’t see roland much, if at all but sometimes roland and butter will attend a family gathering)

- other other students are preston and beebee, two rich kids (preston’s family owns a water bottle company while beebee’s family provides the bunnies for cutopia). they’re families are good friends and also they’re dating 

- preston is so high maintenance that he somehow scored a dorm room for himself

- plots include:

- a mystery of why derek is Like That. we know he was expelled from his last school because of a fight along with a string of absences beforehand. it’s also apparent that he and shirley have a strained relationship and the academy is considered a last resort before shirley is forced to do more drastic measures to ensure derek stops “acting out” 

- throughout the story is derek seeing the school counselor eliza. this is required for derek so he can stay in the school

- preston is struggling with literature and needs a tutor but he’s too proud to go to one. much to his surprise, derek has good grades on this class and preston hires derek to be his tutor so he can pretend on the outside that preston is helping derek. naturally derek is offended but begrudgingly accepts because preston pays a lot

- evelyn and chaz struggle with getting used to each other. chaz is still getting used to having a sister and another dad sharing his space when it used to just be him and his dad. evelyn is put off by his ice and sugar attitude, switching between him being nice to her and suddenly acting like he doesn’t know her

- it becomes apparent that preston and beebee’s relationship is on the rocks. preston is an absent boyfriend, apathetic to her interests but also buying her lots of gifts to show her he cares. beebee can’t handle the disconnect anymore and breaks up with him. preston is at a loss because he’s so used to being with her that being without her he has no clue what to do. during this time he finally realizes that he may like her but beebee doesn’t want to get back together because in her words they stayed dating because their families were excited about them being together so they remain friends but thats it

- derek’s hair is actually pink like his aunts but he dyes it blonde. he roots begin to show and he quickly needs to buy hair dye so he wont be ridiculed. at some point preston sees his pink hair and gets feelings (but its definitely only because he’s still feeling after beebee and his breakup definitely nothing else *sweats*)

- buddy smuggles two goldfish into their dorm and the fish stay throughout the story

- winterfest play where derek is suddenly the princess in the story. evelyn is the hero and they share an improv but emotional in the moment kiss much to the surprise of everyone, including themselves

- winter break! derek is back home but its very...awkward. shirley treats him gently as if she’s afraid he’ll break and derek still isn’t really over what felt like to him her pawning him to the next relative when he was “too much” just like when he was younger

- luckily he doesn’t have to worry about his aunt because it turned out that evelyn lives next door and her family is spending their winterfest break and buddy and lyndsay are also there but only for the day (buddy and lyndsay have to head back to the capital while evelyns family just wanted to take a detour before going to a skiiing place somewhere else). theyre really excited to see him! now he can focus his worries on something that isn’t that heavy

- derek meets the dads and theyre cool. chaz is really standoffish, even more than usual (these two butt hate each other. chaz is just like the smarmy assholes that derek knew at his old school. chaz thinks derek is a coward. they’re too alike where they see their own worst traits in each other but different enough where they clash and have no common ground. worst of both worlds). and evelyn...

- derek and evelyn try to talk out their feelings with each other. its awkward because they dont know if it means they have to date now or what so they do a series of “maybe dates” but they pretend its just normal outings for buddy and lyndsay because theyre worried about making them awkward. we learn some consequences of derek’s past actions such as being banned from the local pizza place so they have to go to a restaurant farther away or when an old classmate sees derek and acts scared of him. derek feels deeply ashamed about these but the others don’t mind, which scares him even more into thinking theyre just too nice to tell him to his face

- anyway derek and evelyn realize they’re better as friends and the kiss actually doesn’t have to mean romantic stuff if they don’t want it to so they leave it at that. chaz comes in with a slightly-too-late “if you hurt my sister i’ll beat you up” talk, showing that he cares about evelyn even if he pretends like he doesn’t for his own pride

- also important and wanted to note that justice shows up and is surprised that derek is there. justice won’t admit he was worried but he genuinely thought something happened to derek when he suddenly stopped showing up to the boardwalk. he’s glad derek’s okay. derek is surprised that justice had thought about him at all as he thought justice didn’t like him

- winterbreak is over and theyre back in school. preston is weirdly tense and defensive during studying sessions now and derek doesn’t know why. what? jealous? preston isn’t jealous about the winterfest play at all? (no one said that preston)

- other plots. liberty has a crush on travis because travis is her first friend at school and introduced her to the others. she’s thinking about asking him to prom. summer is really interested in helping her and the others are confused as to why. summer accidentally confesses to derek it’s because she has a crush on liberty but knows she won’t reciprocate because of travis and just wants liberty to be happy. liberty overhears but miscontrues it as summer having a crush on travis. shes sad but she wants summer to be happy and thus shenanigans

- chaz confesses his feelings to travis before anything happens but travis is conflicted. he spend all of high school thinking chaz hated him because he was an asshole to him the entire time he’s known him. travis doesn’t reject him but he doesn’t reciprocate either. travis leaves chaz and avoids him all day, even asking buddy to swap rooms with him for a while so he can recollect. 

- during all of this derek, lyndsay, and evelyn are scheming to help summer gather the nerve to ask liberty to prom. preston is overhearing this and thinks derek is going to ask liberty or summer to prom. (why is he so mad about that???)

- things work out in the end. summer and liberty are going to prom and chaz and travis are going to give this a chance on the condition that chaz stop acting like an asshole to travis now

- also maybe preston confesses to derek idk

- near the end, derek begins to feel a happier but he’s scared and waiting for the other shoe to drop and for him to somehow mess up this life he’s somehow gotten at the royal academy. he becomes more withdrawn and irritable again. until it blows up. he’s afraid he’s going to ruin it again until he finally tells them his worries

- ulitmately, he’s scared that he’ll end up worse but with a support system he can be okay. eliza helps him look for therapy services after he graduates 

- graduation happens and everyone’s there. shirley apologizes for making derek feel like he’s a burden but she truly wanted him to become a better person and shes glad he’s able to smile more now

- he thinks about his future and while a bit uneasy, he’s happy

I got into DDLC during my hiatus and so this AU (made with @laffy-taffy211 !!) was bound to happen (:❤️ Theo is the protagonist, Buddy is Sayori, Preston is Natsuki, Ewan is Yuri, and Chloe (Laffy’s oc) is the antagonist Monika 🥰

So who wants some Preston headcanons? I’ve posted these on the MySims discord before, but I wanted to put them here, as well.

Preston grew up in a cold climate, so he’s very used to extreme colds. Ever wondered how he survived the mountain with a sweater vest? There you go.

Due to this, he’s a great skier. The ski lodge trip was originally one for his birthday (since BeeBee knows he likes skiing a lot), but when he found out just where this ski lodge was, he decided to bring work with him by leaving incriminating documents on his dashboard Preston why are you such a bad criminal

His father actually owns a ski lodge himself, but he wouldn’t give it to Preston, since he wanted to teach his son responsibility. 

The hardest difficulty trail at this lodge is actually named after Preston, and he’s skied it so many times.

Going on this theme of responsibility, it was actually Preston’s father who gave him control of Presco (which is the actual name of the company, according to a line of dialogue only available when you talk with him when you first get the f-space manipulator), because he wanted his son to learn how to lead a company before he got control of all of his father’s business.

Presco is one of the biggest purveyors of not just water bottles (though that is what they are most famous for), but food and drink in general. This is the only thing they beat Morcucorp (what is it with MySims and naming giant corporations after the person who owns them???) sales-wise.

Preston is 27 years old during the time of Agents

He and Elizabeth, from the DS games, are cousins.

He’s actually Preston Winthrop Esquire II, and this trend continues until it reaches, like, Preston Winthrop Esquire XVI

He’s so cartoonishly villainous simply because he can be. Has he ever been told no? No.

His family owns a yacht as well as a private island. They use the yacht to sail to the private island every summer.

Preston is deathly afraid of ghosts. He accidentally got locked into one of his father’s factories as a kid, and all of the machines creaking in the dark sounded like ghosts and scared young Preston to death.

Preston starts to learn to appreciate BeeBee more after the ski lodge incident.

And, finally, here’s what I think Preston’s interests would be if he were in the original MySims!

MySims Winter Event: Day 2 - Winter Reality I could've also wrote a story behind this, where everyone has to stay in the lodge, because there's a winter storm outside. As the scenario here, Nova is trying to keep things peaceful, Evelyn is anxious, Beebee wants to snuggle with Preston, and Rosalyn loses it. ...and maybe Paul comes in and saves the day.
