Here's how to Disable Third Parties (Like AI Companies) from Looking At Your Shit. A Comprehensible Guide.
Tumblr media
If you're on your computer, go to "ACCOUNT" located on the Left <-side bar, and choose for the blog you want to shield from the artificial onlookers. (Side note: You're gonna have to do this to each blog you have... ughhh.. they don't make it easy.) ANyway, choose one of your blogs and click it.
Tumblr media
Once there, go to the Right -> side bar, and click on "BLOG SETTINGS."
Tumblr media
Your Blog's page set up should be set up like this. Now, scroll allll the way down (it's near the damn BOTTOM >:( ) Until you get to a Section Called, "VISIBILITY."
Tumblr media
Here's the "VISIBILITY" section. If you look at the blue bullet right there, you'll see "Prevent third-party sharing for (yourtumblrblogname)". Yours will probably be a gray bullet. Gray means you've switched it to OFF. Blue means it's switched to ON. Make sure the bullet slider is blue. And Bam. You're done (for this blog). No extra save button thankfully or whatever. BUT now you have to go and do the same thing for all your other side blogs. Hope this helps some of my followers. Because the tumblr is set up in a way that gives you multiple setting options for not just each blog, but your account as well. So you'd ASSUME it'd be underneath your account so it could apply to everything! Buuut its not. And here we are. Good luck out there fellow artists. And tumblr? Shame. Live was a mistake, and so was this.

"why are people saying tumblr has Ai scrapers"
Go to blog settings and make sure "Prevent third-party sharing" is enabled. Do this with the side blogs as well.
Tumblr media
Unlike what happened with DeviantART, you only need to do this for each blog, not each post. But still, tell Tumblr support to have this enabled by default
Also, apparently, if you reblog a post by someone who's opted out, that reblog will also automatically be opted out

hey :) i’m sending this to all the artists/writers/ commissioners i follow. Tumblr is working with openai and midjourney to scrape blogs. This post shows you how to opt out.
Hi dear!
I already enabled the “prevent third-party sharing” option, but thank you very much for the warning. ♥️
The least Tumblr should do is leave this option enabled by default, but since they apparently won’t do that anytime soon, we need to share this information as much as we can so people don’t get ripped off.

No, reblogs don't override your opt-out.
Opting out of third-party sharing does apply even when other people reblog it.
I've seen a lot of people say otherwise, and I don't blame them--Tumblr should have shouted this from the rooftops, but I only learned it from the detailed information page about privacy options.
The quote: "Prevent third-party sharing
This option will prevent your blog's content, even when reblogged, from being shared with our licensed network of content and research partners, including those that train AI models."

If you want Tumblr to stop using your blog to train AI
Go to your blog settings on Tumblr (on your computer or choose a desktop version on your phone), scroll all the way down to Visibility and click on Prevent third-party sharing.
Your blog's content is used by AI by default, unless you press on that toggle.

Yes it’s been months since I’ve posted, I’ve been busy, however
I need all of you to go into tumblr on your pc or phone, go your settings of ALL your blogs and side blogs, and turn on the “prevent third party sharing” for ALL of those blogs, by allowing third party sharing tumblr is letting your content be used to train ai

Hi, in case you haven't heard, Tumblr is selling users' data to Midjourney and other AI models. To opt out, you have to go to "Blog settings", scroll to the visibility section and activate "Prevent third-party sharing" (I don't know how it's written in your language). Here's a post if you need further instructions.
To protect your art, you can use Glaze and Nightshade.
Hi!😀 thank you for the heads-up 🤗. Something curious about the situation is that the "Prevent third-party sharing" option doesn't show in the tumblr app 🤔 and although there is a title translation in my home language, they kept the explanation in english.🫤

Not long ago I was hired for a project where I made a ton of pieces like this, and this particular one didn't end up going forward, so I'm allowed to post it 🤗

im not here anymore really but i came back to flip a few setting buttons cause APPARENTLY tumblr is planning on selling our info to AI
so
to prevent that for yourself
go to your settings and (you gotta do it for each blog you have even your side ones)
Tumblr media
scroll through your blogs settings not account settings and go to the bottom where it says visibility and tick prevent third party sharing so that your info isn't sold to AI
