The King of Cats, in colour and in black and white. He's a Pokémon OC of mine, though one that could certainly be used in other settings.

He's a 'Noble', who claim to be to humans as Legendaries are to Pokémon. Think a Pokémon world equivalent of Star Trek's Q Continuum, with the Eternals from Doctor Who being another inspiration. Nobles only ever use titles instead of names, so others of his species will call themselves things like the Queen of Hearts, the Prince of Darkness, the Duke of Prunes, etc.

Like your average Pokémon Trainer, he's a fan of games. Unlike your average Pokémon Trainer, he and the other Nobles are down for using humans as the pieces as much as Pokémon. When battled directly, he'd use a team of Gengar (Cheshire Cat reference), male Meowstic, Meowscarada, Incineroar, Perrserker, with an all-new cat Pokémon being his Ace (or a Chien-Pao or G. Max Meowth to put something).

While I didn't make him an outright catboy, there's quite a few cat allusions with his design. His hair intakes resemble cat ears, his cane looks like a scratching post, his scarf, cane, boots and undercoat are coloured like the Cheshire Cat, and he wears a split tailcoat as a nod to the twin-tailed nekomata.

rationale for pokemon:

oricorio and meloetta both reference his beloved little rinea and her love for music + dancing as that was what drawn them together. meowstic represents his urm. love for rinea which...leads to ceruledge which represents both his need for power and vengence against alm and rinea sorta being sacrificed <3 glastrier also is there to show his want for power, as well as referencing his cavalier class. corviknight is steel, steel is one of the more powerful weapon types. i tried to stay more on the meta side because that's what berkut would do

Dragon Prince Pokémon Teams, part 1

This is just the “main trio” of the show: Callum, Ezran, and Rayla.

I decided Callum would give his Pokémon Latin and Greek names, since his spell incantations are in Latin. The translations of the names are as follows:

Tachys— swift or fast. I got the idea from the scientific genus name of the tree swallow, Tachycineta, which means “fast-moving.”

Tempestas— storm. Braviary is a very powerful Pokémon— and this is the Hisuian form, which not only has the power of flight, but also psychic powers.

Fulminus— lightning. This is also the same incarnation used to summon lightning in the show.

Anemos: “wind” in Greek.

Auris— “ear” in Latin. A reference to Meowstic’s most prominent feature.

Cirrus— a Latin term used to describe ice clouds in the upper atmosphere.

Ezran has multiple dragon-type Pokémon on his team. I also gave him a few other Pokémon. As far as Trainer style goes, he’s very much like Iris— playful, fun-loving, incredibly caring. The difference is Iris would be more likely to get into a fight, whereas Ez would try to solve a conflict through reasoning.

And finally, Rayla. All of her Pokémon are connected with night, stealth, or fighting in some way. In particular, Umbreon’s connection to the moon makes it a perfect partner for her.

Hello! Alola! My name is Yew, and I’m a Pokémon trainer. I guess technically I work as a researcher’s assistant, but I don’t really consider myself a researcher. However I would consider myself very experienced with Pokémon, so feel free to ask questions! Currently I live in the Unova area but I lived in Alola for a few years.

My partners are a mimikyu named Kiki, a krokorok named Stevie, a wooper named Bab, a hybrid quilava named Pyre, a scrafty named Doug, two meowstic named Warlock and Prince, and a rattatta named Yeet! I’ve known the first three for years, but I met the rest of them recently. I consider them all my closest friends.

Here’s some information about myself! I’m 18 and use he/it pronouns. I love ghost types and consider myself a fanatic. For some reason I have increased luck when it would make the situation funnier (I once found and caught a shiny zubat for my researcher friend while he was explaining to me how rare shinies are). My biggest rival is a rich kid who’s professionally trained team lost to Bab in a one on one.
