Ursula’s backstory

ok, so somewhere a while back, I saw someone say that Ursula was King Triton’s sister, but she was banished from Atlantica because she tried to overthrow Triton (I think that’s how it went. idk, maybe it was the original plot that i read somewhere)

but in the little mermaid 2, Morgana is said to be Ursula’s sister. 

And I though, what if both were true? And I came up with this headcanon.

Ursula was the princess of Atlantica, in line for the throne. She had a magical singing voice and a gift of sorcery. She loved creating potions and spells. This caught the eye of the Sea witch at the time, who decided she wanted the Ursula to be her daughter and train her to use her powers. Morgana, The Sea Witches real daughter, became jealous as her mother was giving more attention to Ursula, and being sick of her mother claiming that Ursula was better than Morgana in everything. This lead Morgana to trick Ursula into trying to take over the throne. Ursula almost succeeds, but Triton defeats her, after she had already killed their parents. Triton insead becomes king and takes the throne, and accuses Ursula of treason. He banished her away into exiles and took away her magic in her voice, turning it to the way it sounded in the movie. At the time, Triton only knew about her magic voice (Which she used to preform powerful spells), but now Ursula can preform only very weak magic.The Sea witch, ashamed by her daughter Morgnana and Ursula’s actions and ruining the Witches reputation, the sea witch places a curse on the girls turning them into the octopus/mermaid things we see in the movies. 

Hellbent on revenge, Ursula goes to the Sea witch’s cave and kills her, and then Ursula takes over the cave.  Morgana retreats into the frozen waters far away from the kingdom. 

Ursula wants to take her place on the throne and get back her magic voice, but she bids her time. Stealing magic from other merfolk and slowly restoring her power. 

One day, she learns (from her best friends and loyal pets the eels) that Triton has had a daughter who has the same magical voice that Ursula has. She watches the life of this princess, waiting for the time where Ursula can manipulate Arial so she can once again take over the throne. 

She devises a plan to steal arials voice and get tritons tridant and become the most powerful witch in the ocean, and maybe even lift the curse the previous Sea Witch placed on her.
