This is going to be a silly confession because I genuinely feel this topic is a dead horse, but my concern is of the mental health of stans in this aprt of the Internet, so here it goes. Some solo Tom fans are not really fans of who he is, but what they want him to be.

There is a blog who I dont want to mention cause I feel that they are entitled to their opinions, who seem very frustrated that Tom is allegedly doing SM4 and that fans aren't outraged with the fact his career isn't being steamrolled into prestige cinema outside the machine of MCU.

These fans are similar to CE fans, no shade.

I can understand the frustration cause Chris Evans fans also were in annoyance with the state of his career, post MCU. Chris Evans fans also hate his wife too so there's that, lol. Some Tom fans dislike the fact that he is just with Z and has no identity outside of it other than being a bf. Valid to some degree.

Now, let's bring some reality back into this. Stans need to understand that they don't know what Tom doing behind the scenes. They don't know what's in his head or his personal feelings. That tweet I linked was a very good observation in Stan culture cause some fans genuinely believe that Tom's accomplishments and actions are linked to them. It's a scary position to be cause now you are on the Internet spewing negativity towards tomdayas or anyone who celebrates their relationship and are in bubble cause you all lack nuance.

To be fair, Tom isn't taken seriously as an actor. Him doing a play is the best way to be taken seriously cause the theatre is the actors medium. He signed to do a 4th film for the MCU. You can't blame anyone but him for that. He's grown and is gonna do what he wants. If you don't like it, unstan. There are plenty of yt male actors who are doing prestigious films and Oscar buzz films to stan. The thing is you can't cause let's be honest we all love Tom and there's something about him that you can't help but root for.

He likes pics of Z, he even likes pics where he's just the photographer for Z. He lives tomdayas pics. He personally loves that role.

You have to meet ppl where they are at not what you want them to be. You have these high standards for a stranger, I can only imagine what you expect for ppl in your everyday life. Probably more leniency.

First of all...Whew! Those tweets! WOW! Can I say? Completely, 100% agree. 👏🏾 This is what is at the crux of stan culture and social media addiction, and celebrity obsession.

I agree. I think there are SOME fans of Tom who are truly genuinely fans of his, but they want his career to look a different way, or to be what THEY want it to be, instead of just letting go of control, being a passive fan, and allowing his career to be whatever it's going to be.

One thing about me is that I'm usually a passive fan of whoever I'm a fan of. While I would love my faves to do certain roles, I'm not out here getting angry or upset if they aren't doing roles that I personally would love to see them do. I just go with the flow. I'm happy whenever I hear of a new project announcement for one of my faves, and I let things go!

Hey now....not ALL of us Chris Evans fans out here are hating on him and his career, or hate on his wife lol. 😅 I, for one, would like to see him get out of the "Marvel Bubble" and have more substantial roles in the future, but I'm not upset with the work that he's BEEN getting during and post-Marvel. Don't get me wrong, I think it's cute, adorable, and lovely that Tom is so supportive of Z, and some of the cute things they do in their relationship is just really adorable and makes us all believe in love again. 🥰

The PROBLEM that I'm seeing though is that Tom isn't autonomous from his relationship and his career. It's cool that fans want to stan Tom because of his cute "boyfriend" behaviors, but Tom is first and FOREMOST an A-C-T-O-R. An actor should be admired for their career and their WORK, NOT their relationship. The relationship is just the icing on the cake (imo). 🤷🏾‍♀️

I think the problem is that some stans are mainly associating Tom with his relationship, and aren't really giving credit to his career and his work. That's demoralizing imo. Any actor that you are a fan of should be admired primarily because of their work. Who they are as a person, and any "boyfriend" behavior is like secondary and just icing on the cake imo. Granted, you're not going to be a "stan" over every good actor out here, and I get it. But Tom isn't some "TV Personality" or "reality star" or "influencer". So his relationship shouldn't be taking precedence over his acting career imo. He's an ACTOR first and foremost. Jmho. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I'm sorry, but I wholeheartedly disagree with this. Tom IS taken seriously in the industry as an actor. He wouldn't have gotten the role in "Cherry", "TCR", "TDATT", Romeo & Juliet, or be considered by Sam Mendes for "1917" if he weren't taken seriously as an actor in Hollywood. He wouldn't have been nominated for a Critic's Choice Award this year if he weren't.

sorry i’m gonna talk some more about annie/johanna

first of all, i just think finnick and johanna would be so different as partners. finnick and annie give me the vibe as that one tweet that’s like “i don’t have any morals or opinions if a woman says something is right then it is” “um well maybe you should have morals and opinions” “you’re right i should”

in all seriousness, i think that even when they do fight finnick doesn’t even yell and he’s insanely good at communicating / compromising, which would be good skills for the capitol but also i think he’s just not a very intense person in the first place and that he HATES conflict. and then this is also based on my hcs of annie, but i imagine that she cannot handle conflict well and she struggles to compromise on something even she agrees with the compromise just bc she’s so pissed off, and that johanna is the exact same way. so when she and johanna fight, they fight. like we already know that johanna will say anything even if it upsets everyone (and she canonically did upset annie into having a flashback of some sort) so i think whenever they argue it’s a days long affair and that they only rlly try to figure out how to be more healthy about it when odesta’s son is like “ma where’s johanna i wanna see her” and since annie’s not gonna fill him in on all the tea she’s like “hm. we’re gonna have to work something out”

also it’s really interesting to think about johanna being more sensitive. i think there’s a fine line between censoring her thoughts (“it’s part of my therapy!” she ate) and just being more careful about saying things that are going to trigger annie, and that’s a balance johanna is going to try so hard to figure out. and it’s probably gonna be rlly hard bc when was the last time she had to figure something out for someone she cares abt, and when was the last time she had the luxury to care about someone, and will annie leave her if she messes up but it’s genuinely just a mistake and she’s consistently trying?

i do think that’s all gonna be resolved before they’re an actual couple, which is also something i wanted to talk abt. pre-canon i imagine they met at johanna’s victory tour and johanna lowkey had a small crush on her but also johanna has had a small crush on everybody at one point in time (in a “to cure the boredom” way lmao) so she doesn’t rlly think too much of it. just that when annie laughs it makes her wanna laugh too. and that when annie makes jokes johanna is like “why isn’t anyone laughing she’s literally a comedic genius.” i personally don’t understand this concept but sometimes when my friends enter relationships they’re like “omg i had a crush on them all throughout hs.” and they obviously don’t mean a full on consistent crush, just something that came and went in varying degrees, and i can totally see that with johanna. but also being a mentor + the quell + her morphling addiction + finnick’s death probably wouldn’t have given her much time to rlly think about it, so she doesn’t rlly realize how bad she has it until the war is over and they’re raising odesta’s kid

speaking of odesta’s kid! as soon as he’s born she immediately loves + wants to protect him + gets sick at the thought of never seeing him again and she’s just like “it’s just bc he’s a baby everyone feels that way abt babies.” which true but she also co-parents without any hesitation and when annie is like “i don’t want u to feel pressured to take care of him just bc we’re living together” johanna is like what the fuck are you talking about

oh and also i think annie is fully capable of being insensitive to johanna’s needs too, so it’s a two way street. like with her morphling addiction in particular, annie would probably continually ask her why she can’t just stop and johanna is so fed up with having to explain that it doesn’t work that way but they work thru it obviously

i think this is it. tbh this was more like an outline of how their relationship would work than actual hcs but i think there’s something beautiful about johanna learning how to be more loving and gentle without losing her bite. like she’ll still bully annie but she’d do it so lovingly and without actually hurting any feelings

oh i guess one more thing that’s not rlly a hc or anything just something silly i’ve been fretting abt: what if johanna and annie get together and they love each other soso much and then finnick shows up like “actually i lived and i’ve been finding my way to u all this time!!” like omg what would happen? my knee jerk reaction is odesta pt 2 but if i think abt it for more than a second it’s like. wow. annie and johanna went thru all these trials and tribulations and have grown into each other and made each other their home so it would be so fucked up if annie just fuckin left 😭😭 also annie and finnick wouldn’t be on the same pg anymore so if they even had a chance of getting back together they’d have to refamiliarize themselves w each other

Seeing Jaehaerys little casket and his face being the only thing showed is so saddening. I feel like Otto purposely left his face out in the open cause normally they cover the face. I was kinda surprised that Helaena was in there at the funeral(I know it’s her son so it’s expected she’d show up ), but if I remember she became extremely depressed to the point she didn’t leave her room. So I wonder if after the funeral thats when she’ll retreat t her room and hardly leave.

I also wanna know where Tom and Ewan were, some say that’ll be in the back on horseback and that their filming the closes up on different days or up in the air on their dragons.

1) this Video of Duff and Slash in the Restaurant is so weird to watch. Imagine going out for eating and everyone is looking at you and staring at you. Like in a Zoo. It made me so uncomfortable looking at it, can't imagine how they must have felt. Especially Slash who always seemed to have some sort of social anxiety.

2) On Twitter, they said some Fans got into the Hotel and met Duff and somehow Duff got injured. Another girl was crying on IG because Slash's security was a bit rough with her when she met (or wanted to meet) Slash. And people assuming it was because Duff got injured and they didn't want the same happen to Slash.

Anyway, there really shouldn't be Fans in the same hotel as the band tbh. They need some privacy too, they need some Rest and alone time too.

The reality of being a celebrity is people are gonna stare, look, etc. Once someone is a public figure, especially a well known one, the public is gonna react when they are out and about. Not that isn't gonna be uncomfortable, or awkward, annoying even, it just comes with the territory of fame and celebrity. We are a celebrity OBSESSED culture. That being said, celebrities are entitled to feel how they feel about going out, and being approached by fans when they're just going about their daily lives, or out to eat. I just don't think someone who has been "famous" for decades like Slash and Duff would be super out of sorts by folks staring as it's probably common. It's just an unfortunate cost for fame or being a public figure.

Also People tend to stare at things that are unusual or novel, so a celebrity sighting for a lot is very rare AND humans tend to notice others staring at someone/something are also more likely to look themselves trying to figure out what has got the attention of others. A weird little human tick, like if you show up late to class, make noise opening the door, people just immediately look because weird monkey brain lol

So who are "they" on Twitter? I went and checked on Slash and Duff's Twitter, even the official GnR Twitter account and saw nothing so what's your source on this? I'm very wary about online bullshit. As for the girl crying on Instagram, people lie for clout all the fucking time, or she tried to meet him at a very inappropriate time, I mean there is a dozen reasons why security may have been rough IF that even happened. Fans can be fucking so inappropriate with celebrities and cross boundaries all the time (and celebrities too). I've read fan accounts claiming so and so were SO rude, treats fans like shit, when the reality was, the fans were being shit heads. It depends on the point of view but I think fan entitlement is nauseating. Frankly I think anyone can tell someone to fuck off if they're having a meal and some bozzo interrupts them but SOME celebrities know this will reflect badly and are far more gracious then I personally think they need to be. So Insta Girl might be truthful or a fucking liar I dunno, don't care. I would NEVER approach a celebrity out in public because I find it fucking rude.

I kinda agree but it would be hard to enforce unless the band or whoever books the entire hotel. Probably I'd assume they'd book a floor or two for crew etc and for security reasons.

There are a few Youtubers out there that discuss celebrities, fandom, fans, parasocial relationships etc that are interesting because I think with social media, fans can now really interact with celebrities unlike any other time period before. Like fan letters can be read by staff of a celebrity, but now you can Tweet, or comment directly to a public figure (not everyone though is run by the actual celebrity/public figure many have media teams)

I just think with Iphones, social media, and all this tech has created a whole new world for fans and celebrities and navigating it is MESSY as fuck. Like now fans can easily track down celebrities as the paparazzi had done before, and a lot of paparazzi crossed a lot of lines to get that photo for $$. Now fans are willing to cross lines in order to meet their favs for clout, or online fame themselves etc and it's worrisome.

getting into a relationship has been so weird. bc i thought it will be easy to know if i like them but it's not.

every time i had a crush prior, i would always try to forget them by thinking about the things i don't like about them, their flaws, etc. so now I've trained myself to try to push the thought of 'maybe i like them' away, sometimes before it even happens. it's a self defence mechanism, so i don't get hurt when they don't like me back.

so now i'm focusing on everything i don't like about him and why i shouldn't like them. and i'm not letting myself to fall in love with them, like i always did w crushes.

another thing is being afraid of sharing my thoughts and feelings about someone. especially to them. so when they outwardly says on one of our first dates that he likes me,, it feels like a trick or a trap. like, how can you know so fast,, you don't know me yet, how do you know what you're feeling already. because i can't do all those things. what if they just want to use me? what if they are a narcissist and a manipulator? and i'm just falling on their hook eventhough i feel anxious about it.. why do i feel like there has to be an alterior motive to liking me? am i pushing them away bc anyone who shows an interest in me must be deceiving me?

and if they're honest about what they're feeling, how can i with an clear conscience accept their love if i don't have my own heart figured out? i don't want to hurt them.

also, none of it feels like i thought it would. kissing is not some magical moment, especially when you don't know how. i don't want to jump into bed w them right away, maybe i don't even know what sexual attraction towards a real human being feels like.

...

i sat many nights with those thoughts and the conclusion i've come to is this. so what if you turns out don't really love them, so what if they turn out to be a bad person, so what if it doesn't end w sunshine and roses. don't think about what will happen. don't think about how or how soon it will end. live today. it doesn't matter that much if you love them, what matters more is that it feels good to be with them. and that's enough. it's enough to enjoy the good parts. you don't have to figure yourself put completely. i want to spend time with them and that's enough for now.

Slovenia - (disko) VIBES. i knew this probably wasn't gonna qualify but i still wanted it to. it's so sweet! just good energy and vibes.

The countries that qualified but I wish Latvia and Slovenia would've taked their place:

Armenia - it's just not doing for me what it should. It's a little basic and cliche.

Iceland - it's vibey, it's nice but maybe it's a little too bland? idk. i just like my favs more.

Greece - it was pretty good while it was happening but it left no lasting effect. don't remember how it sounds. listen, i love calm songs (very different from ballads) but this year were having a little too many and some are less good than others.

Switzerland - I love the message hut maybe it could've been done in any other way than the generic "ballad-y eurovision (issue) song". it's just not something new or interesting enough for me to excuse it's basicness.

If dnp were to ask you to explain to them what the difference is between what we actually want and what they think we want re joint content, how would you describe the difference? Like I think I agree but I also couldn’t articulate it well

Oof I will try but it's mostly just *wild hand gestures and grunts*

I think dnp sometimes still perceive us craving and wanting joint content as an excuse for 'fan service' (or phan service haha) with a focus on their relationship dynamic. Like our motives are based around wanting more ~heart eyes howell~ moments or #phanproof. Which I understand is a warranted assumption! They spent years seeing that kind of stuff and have been through a metric fuck ton of overstepped boundaries and feeling like their personal lives overshadowed the content they worked so hard on. So it's understandable that occasionally they're gonna have that mindset of "ugh they just want to watch us look at each other and see if we'll touch on camera now that we're out"

But like...that is so far removed from the case? Joint content brings out a completely different side in both of them. Phil unclenches from the AmazingPhil™️ persona a bit and it's like we get to see a more down to earth, human version of him. He just opens up so much more and shines when he's got someone pushing him. Solo Phil is fun and interesting, but you can tell when he's just going along with the AP approved list of reactions and script; it feels like real Phil isn't even in the room. But Dan (and maybe a handful of other people he's collabed with that he seems to feel comfortable with but this is about dnp right now) has the ability to nudge him out a bit. Because Phil is weird and funny and quick witted, but it's easy to play it safe when no one is pushing you to show it off. (Weird!Phil please return from the war)

And Dan!! First of all...joint content means he exists in the first place (god I miss him). Joint content Dan is so much softer and more approachable? Like twitter Dan and some of old solo Dan was what I can only describe as "I'm rolling my eyes that you're here invading my space even though I literally invited you". The walls are thick and high and you're wondering if you even know this person (*cough* ganp), but then you hear him on Stereo or he's chatting to us with Phil and you're like oh it's still Dan <3 I love Dan! And he likes us! He's such a kind and thoughtful and intelligent and fucking hilarious person, but some of that gets lost when all you have to go on is a generic Dinof tweet once a month. (And like Phil, there are people who've brought out those sides of him- like his interview with John which I could write an entire novel on dear god that was so fucking good).

They've acknowledged before that they know they have amazing on screen chemistry and an ~it factor~ as a duo, but I hope they know it's so much more than romantic (lol). They're just fun to watch and it’s so obviously THEY are having fun too? Like their happiness is palpable and it transfers to the audience instantly. And going to back to the conversation from yesterday, them together brings back a lot of really good memories and it's a safe place for a lot of people. Like yes the world is a on fire trash can, but Dan and Phil are still around being wonderful humans who can bring an unbridled amount of joy.

And to close I will admit that yes, it's also still a little bit of the "dear god what happened to the closed ice cream shop jesus please stop telling us things there was SO MUCH room on that couch why are y'all like this". Like no one..and I mean no one wants y'all to make out on camera or anything, but I don't think anyone can look at them and not feel something. Karl Jacobs was a good friend of yours. You would play on the Dream SMP sometimes. When you would, it would mostly be you being stupid with Karl and Alex, also known as Quackity. You were even a well know citizen of El Rapids.

"Um," You quickly scan through the names, "no, i don't think so."

You're voice wasn't high pitched or anything like that, you just always spoke very softly and calmly. You were also a bit quiet.

While everyone waits, you and Karl run around each other's little characters and make jokes between yourselves. You mute yourself to read donations every once in a while.

You hear the discord chime, signaling that someone joined the call.

"Hello (Y/n)," Corpse said. You were taken aback by how deep his voice was but you didn't show it.

"Hi Corpse! Nice to meet you!" You said happily.

"Okay, how is she not freaking out?" Bretman said, making everyone laugh.

"Uh, (Y/n), do you mind letting me have black? It's cool if not.." Corpse asked gently.

"O-oh sure, no problem." You were usually black with the pink flamingo hat, but you ran over to the little computer and changed your color.

"Simp," Ethan mumbled, knowing you never switch from black.

"Thank you," He said, then the game started.

The word “Imposter” appeared on your screen in red, yours and Corpse's characters underneath.

As the game started, you thought no one could hear you so you spoke to your chat. "His voice was so deep, what the fuck? Holy shit that was hot, i'm gonna-"

You blushed as you realized and said "Ha, anyways..." and ran to start faking tasks.

You ended up in electrical with Karl. "(Y/n)! My good friend, my buddy, you would never kill me right? Haha..." He said.

"Of course not, Karl! My good friend, my buddy. Why, I'm not even imposter," I said as i quickly dipped into the vent and back out, making him laugh.

I decided to show him because I knew Karl wouldn't say anything, and it's funny.

"Mhm, pretty sure," You said, going back in. As you came out, Sykkuno walked in and froze.

You saw Corpse as you made your way around the map and walked into navigation.

"I would say probably around two."

"Interesting," You said right before a body was reported. It was Sykkuno's. Felix and Rae were also dead.

"WHAT!" Corpse yelled.

"Where was the body at?" Sean laughed.

"Uh I found it in electrical," Bretman said.

"I'm pretty sure Karl was in there earlier."

You calmly said, "It's not Karl, I was with him for most of the round."

"How do we know the two of you aren't imposters?" Sean asked.

"I was alone with him, he would have taken the chance to kill me."

"No, he's your best friend."

"He's also ruthless,"

"TRUE! SO TRUE!" Karl yelled.

"So skip?" Corpse asked.

Everyone agreed and the voting was skipped.

The next round, I spent with Ethan. He was pretending to be mad at me because Sean said Karl was my best friend.

"What happened to Blue Boi Buddies, huh?!" He exclaimed.

"Neither of our hair is even blue anymore!" You argued back.

You were in reactor with him when Corpse and Poki walked in. He hit the lights and you took it as a sign to double kill. He killed Poki, you killed Ethan, and the two of you made your way to electrical to help fix lights.

You and Corpse went the opposite direction of reactor after the lights were fixed, Karl going with you.

Poki's body was reported. That double kill only left you, Corpse, Sean, Karl and Bretman. You only needed two more kills.

"I still think it's Karl and (Y/n)," Sean said quickly.

"I was with (Y/n) the whole time," Corpse said, "In fact, I think it's you."

"That does make sense. Why so quick to accuse others, Sean?" You ask.

"It's not me!" He yelled.

"I actually agree with Corpse and (Y/n)," Bretman said.

"I was with you!"

We all voted for Sean, him voting for Karl. Sean was ejected.

When you load into spawn, you wait for the kill cool down and kill Bretman, saving Karl.

"Victory" appeared on your screen.

"God damn it!" Sean yelled.

"Good job, (Y/n)," Corpse said lowly.

You smiled, a slight blush on your cheeks, "You too Corpse."

"Their voices go together and they're a fuckin dream team? What have i done...," Felix sighed.

People in chat were yelling at you to go to sleep, making you chuckle.

“How about we do a quick QnA, then at 3:30 I go to bed. Deal?”

You watched as the chat filled with questions. They obviously seemed to like the idea.

“‘Who is your best friend? Karl or Ethan?’ Neither, Alex Quackity. Next question.” You answered quickly.

You laughed, “I’d like to clarify that that’s a joke, i love all my friends equally.”

You answered more questions. Some were from new viewers asking basic questions, some were about future streams and videos.

You continued to read chat. “Wait, we’re trending?”

however, i am thinking about his actual behaviour in the stream especially the beginning and his reaction to the chat because i don’t think there’s any logical explanation for george being so distracted by everyone picking up on the fact he’s wearing the hoodie and him displaying all these nervous tells (hands on cheeks, giggling outbursts, arms inside and kept to himself, rocking back and forth, blushing and smiling a lot/holding back smiles all in the span of less than a minute or so) because of it

him not being able to contain himself at all and seeming so affected is what was so...eye opening to me

this might be just me but i have a feeling this hoodie and the imagined ‘implications’ of it (borrowed boyfriend hoodie) were already on his mind a lot to where he got genuinely flustered and caught off guard over it being brought up live

not to mention that time dream brought up his joke plan (that he never followed through with) in the trident stream and with it now being two for two it’s starting to seem like something he unironically thinks about

some food for thought too, would george react the same if he was wearing literally anyone else’s merch on stream? would he be that giggly and distracted, eyes trained on chat the whole time?

and this is reachy for sure i know there could be a million reasons he initially didn’t want the pictures out there but it’s still worth noting, do you think with the idea that george thinks something of this hoodie something more intimate and personal, that thats why he might’ve been embarassed about dream posting the pictures?

i think the actual act of him spraying cologne on it could more have to do with him just wanting to feel nice in it and might be an act of him taking care of his stuff (initially mentioned by cts4shimi and i totally agree seeing it platonically like that) maybe even taking care of something he has a new attachment to which is again totally understandable and sweet but i understand everyone going crazy over the idea of him wanting it to smell like a certain someone even though that would be PEAK fanfiction behaviour (and i say this lightheartedly)

lastly i need to end this saying it’s totally possible george was just in a particularly easily embarassment/flustered mood i’m just saying it’s behaviour we haven’t seen from him in a while and even as a george liker (tm) yesterdays moments and his overall demeanour was just especially notable to me that’s all

he seems really happy rn both generally and (from what we’ve seen) with his relationship with dream and at the end of the day that’s all that matters :) i’m genuinely glad he’s been so comfortable lately with the joke flirting and being so open and just himself with us i truly truly am and i love to see it

Jungkook and His Cover Songs: Is “10000 Hours” about Jimin?

Disclaimer: The following post includes theories, lyric and numeric analysis, plus my personal opinions, so please don’t take anything seriously. I’m too lazy to upload photos and videos for the moments I mentioned here, but I’m sure you know about them all. Any Jikooker must know. And I’m not Korean or a Korean culture expert, I just know as much as any Stan Twitter ARMY knows about their culture.

Maybe one of the biggest Jikook moments of 2021 so far, is where Jimin jumped into Jungkook’s hug, in Lee Hyun’s Vlog. But the other moment on that Vlog was even more significant; Jungkook was singing “Anyone” from Justin Bieber’s new album, and Jimin was harmonizing with him while holding on his shirt. I don’t want to mention their interview moment singing “Peaches” because I know this song is super popular in South Korea right now and somehow it doesn’t count as a moment. But it’s safe to say that Jikook has something special with his songs, and JK in particular always was invested in him. 

JK & JB

The reason behind Jungkook’s devotion to Justin Bieber was always a big question for me, and I got my answer not long time ago. Jungkook’s playlist for Melon Radio Station included a song from JB’s new album named “Lonely”. This is one of the most personal songs any artist can ever make, and JK recommended it to his audience. Here are the lyrics of “Lonely” by Justin Bieber:

But somethin' 'bout it still feels strange

These lyrics made me think of one specific thing, the thing that JK and JB have in common: They started their careers at a very young age, and their lives have been under the scrutiny of so many people. These people judged and criticized them but never tried to understand them. The lyrics are straightforward and leave no place for interpretation. By recommending this song, JK showed that he had (and probably still has) the same experiences in his life, and I think the reason he recommends or covers JB’s songs more than any other artist is that he has many things in common with him, and feels connected to his songs. 

This can lead us to another theory: By covering a Justin Bieber song, Jungkook shares something about himself with us, something that he can’t express directly.

Jungkook is interested in JB’s songs, but he is not the only one. As I said earlier in this post, Jimin shares the same taste with Jungkook, and my receipt is not just that “Anyone” or “Peaches” harmonizing moments, but also Jimin’s Spotify playlists. Since 2017 (or earlier, I’m not sure about this part) he has added some JB songs to his official playlist, and even his current playlist (July 2021) has two JB songs. And also let’s not forget the fact that Jikook as a subunit started in 2014 with a JB cover. Yes, I’m talking about “Mistletoe” and as you may know, Jimin translated the lyrics of this song to Korean. 

10000 Hours

Nearly 700 words and I haven’t started yet! The subject of this post was supposed to be the connections between “10000 hours” cover and Jikook but this prelude was necessary to clarify all the aspects of the topic and we find out how JB is special for JK and Jimin and how they (especially Jungkook) feel connected to him. Anyways, back to 10000 hours:

Dan + Shay and Justin Bieber released this Grammy winner song in October 2019. Here are the lyrics:

As you can see, the lyrics are 100% romantic, and the singers including JB, have dedicated this song to their lovers. Also, their girlfriends/wives have a cameo in the MV, which leaves no place for speculation for the context of the song: Even though the uncertainties always exist and no one knows about the future, our love is strong and will stay strong regardless of time. 

The Cover and the Theories

Nearly one year later, on July 28th, 2020, Jungkook surprised ARMYs with a short video he tweeted at 11:56 AM. That video was a 49 seconds cover of 10000 hours. A few minutes later, he deleted the tweet (apparently with the advertisement excuses, because it was tweeted from an iPhone and they have a contract with Samsung). Later that night, Jungkook released the full version on Sound Cloud and tweeted the link at 11:47 PM. 

Jikookers discovered numerous theories that day about the times of both tweets; if you add the digits of the time, the result is “13” for both tweets 1+1+4+7=13, 1+1+5+6=13, and as you already know “13” is Jikook’s magic number. Also, the first video he tweeted was 49 seconds and 4+9=13. But in my opinion, this theory is not strong. I know that numerology is very popular in Korean culture but still, all of this can be coincidences, but the other things I’m going to bring up are most likely not. 

28th July 2020 was the 7th anniversary of the first Jikook selca posted after debut. This also might be a coincidence and to be honest, it cannot be a strong link to make a connection with Jikook, but worths sharing. 

The next thing that many Jikookers also pointed out, was related to the title of the song. The lyrics say “10000 hours and 10000 more” and 20000 hours after the 28th of July is 8th November 2022. As you may know. Jikookers believe November 8th is a significant date for Jikook. I believe this can be a coincidence either, and it’s very unlikely of Jungkook to do such calculations (Koreans are interested in numbers when it comes to days and dates, but counting hours is not usual in any culture. Other than that, I’m still doubtful about the origins of the November 8th theory because we have nothing other than two tweets and G.C.F Tokyo release date and their hotel room in Tokyo which still can be coincidental). But I don’t deny these theories because even as a coincidence, it’s still very interesting. 

And the next theory is connected to the “Red Moon”. On 27th July 2018, a total lunar eclipse happened all over the world, which became known as the red moon. At that time, BTS were in Malta, and on the same night, Jikook were watching the red moon on a boat. They shared plenty of photos and videos of that moment and I’m sure as a Jikooker you have seen them all and you know that night had a very romantic mood (BigHit words, not mine) for Jikook. So, a second anniversary for that night and the day after that night can be a significant date to release a very romantic cover. Is this a coincidence too? I think we had many of them already.

And last but not least is something connected to Korean culture. You probably know that 1000 days anniversaries are very important for Koreans and they celebrate them along with real anniversaries of the important dates in their lives. And guess what? 27th July 2020 is 1000 days after 31 October 2017. This day is the day Jikook’s travel to Tokyo ended and they posted their couply mirror selca on Twitter with flower bouquet emoji. Despite the one-day difference (the same case for the red moon anniversary), this is not a minor event or small coincidence. I believe Jungkook posted “10000 hour” cover for this reason and based on this, the other theories I mentioned earlier can be true either. 

The lyrics hit different if you read them again, after knowing this fact. Right? I don’t want to make this post much longer but before wrapping up, I want to talk about the lyrics of “Anyone” by JB (the song Jikook were harmonizing in Lee Hyun’s Vlog):

If you read the lyrics, you will notice that the context is very similar to “10000 hours”. It talks about the uncertainties of a beautiful love or in other words: No matter what the future brings to us, this love will last forever. 

This context of uncertainty and unknown future for a romance is a common concept in many of the songs Jungkook has covered and it’s not limited to the Justin Bieber covers he has done and maybe this concept can be the topic for my next analysis.

Meeting

Now when y’all met suna was not looking to love at all. That man was just living his life and so where you. The two of you pretty much meet through komori. You’re a friend and it’s his birthday so him and a few of his friends go out for drinks bc why not. Young hot pretty financially stable v-ball players. Nah no ones there for any type of hookups literally just there celebrating a great guy.

They rent out a section at a relatively nice bar tbh. Not the cheapest and you can actually hear conversation. But also not a super expensive one where the patrons are middle aged with jazz music and the occasional track to relive “youth.” Komori’s a sweetie and will come outside to get you when you text that you’re there. You’ve met washio and ofc sakusa Before so you greet them casually then you turn and there’s Suna and a few others you haven’t met.

That greeting isn’t anything special I promise. Just “hey I’m so and so” and vice versa. It’s one of those meetings where you just think “he’s cute” but it’s such a fleeting thought. Y’all don’t even really talk that first night tbh. At the next practice Suna mentions offhandedly that he didn’t know komori was dating someone and komori is like: huh? Yeah sorry. I love (Y/N) and all but were just friends. Suna just shrugs not really caring to be honest until Komori just asks what did he think of you.

“Don’t really remember much man. Seemed cool though” he didn’t think he’d really see you again. Yeah you were close enough to have been at Komori’s birthday but if that was his first time ever meeting you, he figured you weren’t from around there are present very much. Yeah he was wrong.

Suddenly you were on Komori’s snap story more often, or maybe he’d just been noticing more. Too bad he couldn’t even remember your name 💀. Then it turned into you occasionally popping up where he was. He’d been told your name at least 5 times already but wouldn’t remember it the next day. Whenever he’d see you again he’d get a strained look like: “what is this mf name again” just laugh and tell him again bby.

That changed at some random house party by another mutual friend you two apparently had? You two were the only people just around the fire pit trying to catch some warmth in the chilly night. He’s probably just on his phone head bobbing his head to the muffled music from inside. And you’re just like “remember my name yet?” All jokingly. This sparks the tiniest bit of interest in him and he lets out a low chuckle and just admits “not at all.” I also feel like this is the first time he really looks at you and he’s like 🤨, wait you’re actually kinda cute.

That night y’all just kinda talk and vibe. The conversation comes easy as you two jump back and forth from talking about the music playing to sneakers which he brings up to stuff that you like. He’s actually really easy to talk to. So easy that u can forget about him not remembering your name despite meeting several times. You mention that you’d hung around komori before while they were gaming and that he seemed pretty cool. That leads him to asking “how do you know him anyways?”

“I used to date Sakusa”

Mentally he’s just like— ‘yeah I’m not getting involved in this. Time to go.’ Until you just start laughing.

“I’m kidding. He’s not really my type. We met after being paired together for a project in school.”

The two of you spend quite a bit of time just talking that night until you are joined again by some friends and it’s deadass like y’all weren’t just talking for almost an hour straight.

Getting Together

The process of getting together is like a cat and mouse game. You two start getting closer than friends and then something happens and you’re not talking for weeks. Whether it be life just getting busy, and then someone ending up on some random tinder date or so be it. Definitely one of those things were somehow someway y’all end up just hanging on one of your couches watching a movie. At some point there’s definitely a hint of sexual tension but neither of y’all act on it (later on you find on his finsta that he used to post several “i wont you 😔” memes  Folks can’t tell if hes joking or not (hes not))

You probably gotta tell that man you like him so if that ain’t you I’m sorry. Y’all not dating 😹. It’s something casual, y’all going to pick up some snacks for a movie night and why this mf keep looking at you out the side of his eyes instead of the road. You def texting the groupchat asking if you should confess. They tell you to boss up and just do it baby.

You literally end up confessing in that parking lot. Like right when he shuts the car off and starts swinging his keys on his finger and you kinda just blurt “I like you. Like like you.” He just kinda nods before his eyes widen. “Wait are you fr?” Like no you’re joking tf. It gets a lil awkward so you just go to get out the car and he’s like “I like like you too.”

I definitely don’t think either of you ever officially asked the other out it’s just at some point the understanding that you two are a couple. Like when you’re hanging out just you two hes more touchy, and then y’all start kissing and holding hands at some point. Then when you’re with friends he almost exclusively sits next to you and your friends notice the whispers in one another’s ears at the loud bar that seem just a hint too intimate for ppl who are just friends. Then y’all start arriving and leaving places together and people just at some point get the message (it’s later confirmed by you tweeting some shit like: I hate Rin why is that mf my boyfriend)

As far as anniversaries y’all draw straws to pick a day in the ballpark of the time y’all both think you became official. That’s the day you stick with even if it’s not true.

Relationship Flaws

A fault in the relationship is sunas kinda poor communication when it comes to things that matter. How he feels. Arguments. Love sure as hell don’t come east with anyone but when your partner won’t let you in? Yeah that’s like hell. That’s something you struggle with. And then on your end, it’s the impatience with him not letting you in. You try to wrongfully rush it.

 There’s definitely been arguments that stem from him just being upset about something unrelated to the relationship then coming to you for comfort without actually telling you what’s wrong. He kinda just wants to lay with his head on his chest but at some point that’s not enough. Y’all are in a relationship and should be able to talk about your bad days too.

You’re not innocent in this issue either because sometimes it comes off too pushy. Yes it’s from a place of care but sometimes that silent comfort is necessary. The walls will break in due time and y’all both know that deep in the back of your minds But then there’s a part that’s like— yeah we can’t let this become the norm

“Rin, can you please talk to me”

He will have literally told you “whatever” and that he “can’t deal with this rn” several times as he just shrugs and is like yeah “I’m gonna just go home. I’ll text you later” with an awkward ass pat on your shoulder if it really ruined his mood. If he’s leaving before he gets super upset and uncomfortable just some half assed kiss in your cheek

Another thing is I feel like he could be passive aggressive and let’s be real other folks doing it causes you to do it to. Y’all probably drag eachother on your finstas where you can both see it lol

But when it comes to making up he cracks first and apologizes when he started it. Or as y’all get more comfy with communication. If it’s not anything major he’ll just hit you with a text like “I’m bored come hang”

More Relationship Things

I feel like he love/hates driving. Likes the ride not always driving though. So if you ever proposed a late night drive he’d be down (if you offer to drive). He does let y’all take his car though. He reclines the seat pretty far back. Alternates between just closing his eyes vibing w/ the music or kinda just looking at you (he the type of bf that makes u nervous no matter how long y’all been together)The way he looks at you makes you nervous cause that man is fine as hell and you can just feel his eyes on you.

He films you on Snapchat and sends the video to you like “you look hot”

If he’s not ‘resting his eyes’ he’s mumbling along to the music because he has the aux. if y’all music tastes are different he occasionally throws in something you really like bc he likes how you perk up at one of your fav songs

Moving on. Y’all dap eachother up after s3x because it’s “modern romance” (boy stfu). You two came up with a sex playlist together and it’s on both of your phones. Sometimes one of you will add a troll song that the other doesn’t know and put it in the lineup. (Stole my heart by 1D has definitely played before and you were practically in tears laughing at his reaction. That was one of those songs he was like ‘yeah alright i think we’re done).

At some point you two develop your own handshake and it’s cute. Whenever either of you have to travel without the other that’s always the last thing you do before you leave eachother. There’s vids of your friends daring y’all to do your elaborate ass handshake drunk and doesn’t matter what’s in your system, you both know it like the back of your hand.

I think he values quality time a lot so there’s so many nights where you’re both just chilling in his room just doing your own things. He could just be at his desk watching some game highlights and you’re just doing hw on his bed with your own earbuds in work all spread out and he’s content. He’s also attentive so if he calculates that you’ve been working too long he’ll just take ur earbud like “hey let’s go get something to eat.”

People definitely think he’s the lazy one in the relationship but it’s 100% not true. Like stated above, he’s very attentive and can pretty much gauge how you’re feeling in the blink of an eye. He knows when you need alone time but won’t go without reassuring you that he’s here whenever you’re ready. When you do just need him he’s there without a second thought. If you’re more touchy he’ll have your head in his lap his arm running up and down your as you tell him what’s wrong. He knows when to joke about a minor inconvenience and over the course of your relationship knows when to cut the jokes and be serious with you.

He’d never admit it but he knows your coffee order by heart (he keeps up his image my asking wtf do you get everytime. Just let him LOL). He the type to peek at what you plan on wearing and ‘accidentally’ color coordinate then pull some shit like “why are you copying me”

Y’all def shit talk together. See someone doing something completely out of pocket in public— straight to ur phones you go (pack it up shade room). To the public it just looks like you aren’t paying any attention to one another on your dates but y’all are. Just over the phone so u don’t piss off ur target 😌

It happened to be one of LFG’s top executives, who’d attended a conference regarding the annual financial reports

These type of things didn’t concern you, but if Victor hadn’t promised you a dinner date afterwards, you wouldn’t have been waiting in the lobby until the meeting wrapped up.

A swarm of finely dressed businessmen flooded the exit of the conference room—led by none other than the man you were waiting for; marching forward with so much dignity and authority, no one in their right mind could mistake this man as anything besides the CEO.

You raised your hand to wave him over, only to lower it slowly when you realized he was already in deep conversation with someone (other than Goldman).

Goldman was trying his best to keep up with the duo, furiously scratching notes.

The third man was someone that blended in with the environment perfectly—tailored suit, sleek shoes that glimmered with every step, and a handsome face to top it all off (obviously not as handsome as Vic’s but a close second)

It seemed Victor was already aware of your presence because he’s begun to walk towards your exact direction, both Goldman and the stranger following suit.

Goldman is the first to give you a meek greeting, but says nothing more. The conversation reaches a lull as soon all three men have reached you.

“We’ll discuss this in greater depth at the next briefing, but for now, I believe I’m needed elsewhere.”

He makes a subtle gesture towards you, catching the attention of both men—especially the stranger who does a quick double-take when he glances at you.

The stranger’s gaze flitters between you and Victor before landing on you with an out-stretched hand.

“I don’t believe we’ve met before.”

The attractive smile on his face is anything but welcoming. In fact, it puts you off a bit, but you return the gesture anyway

“Ah! I don’t actually work—”

Victor cuts you off swiftly, saving you from the embarrassment of explaining your position.

“MC is the president of a production company LFG is currently funding.“

Remembrance flickers in the man’s eyes. “That must mean you’re the producer of Miracle Finder!”

Before you can say anything more, he takes your hand in his and grins.

“I’ve been a fanatic of your show since I was young—you have no idea how much it means to finally meet you.”

He pauses briefly, taking a few seconds to stare at your more intensely than earlier, before adding: “I didn’t realize the producer of Miracle Finder was such a beautiful, young woman.”

And you think he’s understood, nodding to himself with a thin smile before taking back the paper. His gaze returns to the front of the room and says nothing more for the rest of the lecture.

6 o’ clock strikes and students begin to file out. You lose track of Lucien amongst the crowd, and rise up from your seat to look for him when an unfamiliar grip pulls you back.

“I haven’t seen you around campus before—are you a student?”

The arm belongs to the redheaded student. You meet his smiling gaze, to find that it feels so much colder than before.

“Ah, I’m sorry, but I’m in a bit of a rush...”

The smile on the student’s face is replaced with an impatient frown before he pulls out the same piece of paper from before.

“Aw, don’t be like that—what’s it gonna take to get a pretty girl’s number?”

You’re almost about to pull your arm back before a third voice interjects:

“For your information, Mr. Lee—she happens to be taken.”

Both you and the student turn to find Lucien observing the situation a few aisles away—but even distance cannot conceal the coldness in his gaze when it flickers towards the redhead: ‘Mr. Lee’

You’re stunned silent by how quickly Lucien makes it to your side, pulling you back himself before snaking a protective arm around your waist.

“I’d appreciate it if you’d refrain from touching my girlfriend—unless you’d rather have campus security interrupt next time.”

If the atmosphere hadn’t been so tense, you would’ve laughed at the expression on the student’s face the moment he made the connection between you and Lucien.

Pure, unadulterated shock and embarrassment.

The glimmer of superiority and danger in Lucien’s gaze juxtaposes the smile on his face as he stares the student down until he leaves the lecture hall entirely.

You breathe a sigh of relief and allow Lucien to walk you out afterwards—just before he pauses by a trash bin to discard of a familiar piece of paper.

As the paper glides to the bottom of the bin, Lucien’s grip on your waist tightens before he whispers something by your ear.

“I realized he was moving on you from the very beginning... If I could help it, butterfly, he’d never have the chance to lay a single finger on you.”

You learned to live with Kiro’s favor in the public eye—which came with a barrage of fan girls and thirst tweets that used to bother you in the beginning of you and his’ relationship.

But you were long past that jealousy and learned to even take pride in your boyfriend’s popularity.

He finally lets out a dry laugh and raises his hand in defense.

Without giving him another second to speak, Kiro turns towards you with a bright grin.

He pulls you out the studio, slamming the door shut with a bang that resonates throughout the empty corridor—effectively cutting all the previous tension and giving you a chance to feel at ease once more.

Birdcop never thought he’d feel jealous over a simple exchange between you and the guy working the counter at clothes store the two of you were currently in.

But there he was!

Originally, he’d offered to drive you to the mall so you could pick up a few outfits—but upon endless insistence, he wound up accompanying you the entire day.

With a heap of clothing in his arms (because of course he offered to carry all of your bags), and you holding nothing but your purse and a drink—the two of you made way to the register to check-out everything.

The only person working was a tall, smiley man that brightened up upon seeing you. He only turned to look towards Gavin once before focusing on you for the rest of the checkout

“Hi. Will this be everything today?”

You smiled and nodded before beginning to open your wallet.

Though you didn’t see it but Gav sure did, the cashier was sneaking in glances at you every so often as he scanned each article of clothing with a smile that was beginning to look anything but pleasant.

He watched the way the stranger’s eyes raked every inch of your appearance, taking advantage of your obliviousness as you searched for your card.

“Ah, this will definitely look great on you! Oh, this too...I believe we just received a shipment of this yesterday...I think I have a couple extra discounts for you!”

You giggled at his attempt to spur conversation until the cashier finally turned towards Gavin—who, all the while, watched the scene play out with a clenched jaw and urge to punch the guy.

“Nah—her boyfriend.”

The atmosphere turned icy in an instant. Even the cashier’s movements had stilled as the seemingly-perpetual smile on his face became sheepish.

With his free hand, Gavin fished for his own credit card before laying it flat on the counter.

“I’ll pay—and we won’t be needing any discounts.”

The cashier’s shaky movements, along with Gavin’s cold gaze that seemed to be telling the man ‘hurry the fuck up’—you wanted to shrink away from the whole situation and the awkwardness of it all, but a small part of you found it a littleee funny.

The man had finished scanning and bagging everything in the blink of an eye, shoving them in your direction with a mumbly “have a nice day”.

Gavin grabbed all the bags in one swoop without so much as glancing at the cashier, who was already looking anxiously for the next customer.

You scolded Gavin lightly after the two of you had left the store, to which he responded with a defensive: “I didn’t like the way he was looking at you!”

You rolled your eyes and continued to walk with him before mumbling,

“You should’ve at least accepted the discount...”

It was a sleazy fucker at the club who thought his comments were actually piquing your interest.

You had to admit that you dolled up a little extra when Shaw invited you out dancing—so you should’ve expected that your boyfriend’s eyes wouldn’t be the only pair on you that night.

He left you on the floor to grab a couple drinks, and the high-energy of the club was beginning to tire you out, so you left to find a place to sit.

There were two empty seats by the bar counter—originally meant for you and Shaw, but it didn’t take long until a stranger swept in to take the seat instead.
