ive been sharing my progress on twitter so it only felt fair to give a lil to tumblr too idk if anyone here is interested in the picrew haha

its mostly finished! Im working on the horns right now, then theres a few more smaller additions before its ready. im super proud of it so far, cant wait to release it!

This is renfred; she's a shape shifty protogen who sells limbs for a living! She takes on many different forms via limb replacement, nanites, chromatophores, and paint! You will see me draw her many different ways that will be different from the ref base form pictured here.

Bio:

A young still growing Overlord, who died in the late 20´s and already has a lot of Potential, that also Vox and the rest of the Vee´s discovered and want to use for there take over from Hell. Since she was a big Streamer in the Human would, did she now continues as such in the VoxTech Tower, having her own Room where she has a very modern Streaming Setup and works as a Content Creator at VoxTech now, where she Streams about News, Products, new products that will come out soon and about new episodes and design clothes. She also makes Professional Photos with a special machine from the products and posts them on the VoxTech website. Since she has such a huge range and 95,5% of the People in Hell watch her Streams, is she the most important worker on Vox´s side and of VoxTech. And she´s very happy with the outcome, after she sold her Soul to Satan, that only Vox knows about, as well as the fact of her little transforming secret she has.

Here's 3ND, the main protogen I use! I love him so much he's just an innocent AI who was corrupted by his creator. Also his height can be 9ft, or changed to 6ft for canon protogen situations.

BTW to anyone who is even a little educated on the matter: if i wanted to use an open species that i did not create for a character in a story im making [read: not from a media franchise but more like an open species someone online made, such as skiltaires or protogens], would that like..be okay...????

on one hand it is an explicitly open species and has been used in stories BY THE CREATOR, but on the other hand idk if itd be Cool to use one for my own purposes?? like. idk. ive made a fursona and some ocs from this open species already, but i feel weird abt using them in a story with even a little bit of a possibility i might sell merch of at some point (only if it gets enough traction down the line)

My Hot Take on closed species in the Furry Fandom: Its not the creator of the species fault if a bunch of rabid children insist on over-policing designs. Especially if the species is very popular.  I cannot imagine how hard it would be for the creator of say... protogens, to actively moderate the behavior of protogen owners. There are like a million of them spread over many websites.  Kids who go into the comments and complain about your design being “illegal” and demanding you change it OR ELSE are a bit silly and probably not directly associated with the creator.

I used @mightbemod's protogen picrew to try to make my fursona as accurately as I can. I think I did a decent job :3 I had a lot of fun messing with it. I love the protogen creator lol

I finished it up quicker than expected. I plan on maybe releasing some small additions in the future, but overall it's entirely fleshed out!
