Big fan of when a character's grief/trauma/guilt manifests as physical symptoms. Big fan of characters keeping things so tight inside them that it makes them sick. Big fan of when the line blurs between a character's mental trauma and physical illness until it's hard to tell which is which anymore.

#whump #k once i did a fic where a character had pneumonia #and also was in Big Mental Distress and mentally going over all the people he'd lost in his life etc #and i gotta say i'm proud of myself for bringing up the recurrent motif of his chest being pianful...like is it from being sick & coughing #or bc he's grieving so badly it's putting him in physical pain #ANYWAY

#better drawn mdzs #mdzs #wei wuxian #lan wangji #I was really looking forwards to this redraw - though the jump in skill isn't as dramatic as the last one I still am proud of my progress!#It's really incredible to look back on this last year and how much has happened since then.#Both in my personal life and this blog.#I started the second season while I was going through some pretty rough times and it truly kept my sanity afloat.#I challenged myself a lot more this year! And while it didn't always turn out the way I hoped-#-being messy and earnestly trying to do something different has been my favourite part of art.#There will always be a lot of room to grow - I don't think art and creativity has a ceiling.#I went from doubting that I was even an artist to joining a gamedev team as the lead artist! Woah I finished something lol

It’s Grian from the stareater Au! I absolutely love stareater so so much it’s such a fun au and the designs and story are so so edible. I literally love how all the characters are written and just everything is so cohesive in a way, idk how to explain it but it’s rlly nice when reading and even the designs are cohesive in a way, I think it was mentioned smt abt prosthetics like how Grians are darker and he has more blue kinda tones and then Scars are more bright and he has more orange tones, but Grians wings also have orange which makes them mix together really well idk I’m just ranting at this point lol. I’ve been meaning to draw stareater Scar or Grian for a while now but my memory is worse than a goldfish so I kept forgetting, sadly I didn’t draw Scar as well but I might at some point if I wanna idk.

Finally, I have managed to write something again. It’s no joke when they say your physical health impacts your mental health and that you really shouldn’t push it when you aren’t well lmao. Dealing with body hurty this past near year has really made me desperately miss writing (and drawing, and goofing off in fandom in general). I’m still not quite better, but I’m getting there and hopefully will be back to normal soon (whatever my new normal will be). I still have many WIPS I want to get back to working on, but I come bearing a gift of a short oneshot to start. Thank you to all of you who are leaving kudos and comments on my fic, I’ll do my best to go through and answer some of you soon. <3

For @stnballoon, for being a wonderful and supportive human being not just to me but also to the supercorp fandom. I’m so grateful for you and your kind and patient positivity. I owe you so much more than this little gift.
