Let me emphasize this: It does not matter if it seems “commonplace” or that it “happens to everyone”. The fact of the matter is that it was still a traumatic event and you should not have had to go through it.

I am sorry if you were led to believe that “this just happens”. That does not make it “normal”. Your experience is not insignificant. It is still trauma and you are valid in the feelings you have around it. Period.

I had some really hard conversations and listened to a lot of heavy sad stories earlier and even though it’s been well over 12 hours, I still feel broken from it allX It was a needed and healing discussion over on my Facebook page and I’m thankful for it, but also really hurting for the women who shared their stories. ❤️ I was really struggling today until I decided to make some art and try to paint some of my feelings out.
