"The Prince's Disciple AU" (aka Disciple route AU)

(sounded weirdly romantic to me somehow so I figured why not.) The Deal: Although hesitant, Mk agreed to live in The Flaming Mountains Monastery as part of a deal he made with Prince Red; who insisted he helps mk work on himself before they fully resumed their relationship. it sounded simple enough. join the Monastery for at least half a year as one of his disciples, then they would officially get back together and work on their relationship.

of course, Red made sure to explain that Mk would be in a much stricter environment, and be given the same treatment and expectations as any other new disciple. he had to take the rules, routines, and teachings seriously, failing to do chores or tasks or being late wouldn't be tolerated... also, he'd only be allowed to bring a few approved keepsakes from home, anything else like clothes would be provided. no cellphone or other outside tech unfortunately. and leaving the premises was forbidden unless he was accompanied.

Mk was, understandably, really unsure about it.(especially the phone thing and not being able to leave the grounds...mean that probably just meant he couldn't wander off. which was fair. it was still in a dangerous area beyond the walls.) but could he really say no? after hurting Nezha as he did? Gods if he couldn't make things work with red, then that would have been for nothing, and....he'd be alone then... it...probably wouldn't be that bad, mean yeah it'll be strict and he'll have to be around Red's asshole friends all the time. but maybe they'll chill out if he's one of them. And Red will be there, he'd still surely make sure that mk was ok and would listen to anything he had to say... yeah. it'll be fine. It was Red after all, he'd never let anything bad happen... yet as they go to tell his friends and dads the news mk can ignore the sinking feeling in his gut.

Since I started writing A Test of Time four years ago I’ve always been planning to give Demon King Red a mech for the final battle.. the only time I ever hinted at it was very very briefly back in chapter 3, and the other place I planned to hint at it was a scene I ended up cutting. So I can’t tell you how excited I was to finally be able to write that scene after I’ve been keeping it to myself for so long~

"Please smile, it's your wedding day" said Emperor Azure Lion.

"Please smile. It's your wedding day."

Qi Xiaotian shook his head, tears rolling down his cheeks. He hadn't said a word to Azure since the plan was revealed, and it stung more than Azure was comfortable with. Honestly, he regretted agreeing to give up the boy to Niu's brat, but an agreement was an agreement.

"Xiaotian," he said, cupping his face and ignoring the attempt to pull away. "I promise, he will be a faithful and loving husband." If he wasn't, Azure would make sure to fix it. He had the power to do that now for the boy that had taken up a son-shaped spot in his soul.

"I don't want this," the boy whispered, the plea clear. "Please don't do this. I don't want him."

"I'm sorry, I don't want you."

Azure's claws dug into the red wedding robes, arranging their arms to be linked as music began to be played. "You'll learn to," he said, his voice a bit harsher than he would have wanted. His free hand patted his shirt, where Wukong's tile was hung. "You'll both have to, eventually."

The curtains parted, revealing the altar and the beaming groom.

Prince Red AU: Disciple Route

going with "Disciple Route" as the name for this au idea at least until I or someone else thinks up a better alternative. as the title implies this is a bad route for @purble-turble's Prince Red Au, though not exactly a DKR route. I personally feel like Prince Red isn't insane enough delusional in the same way as DKR. I also don't think he is really acting as a Yandere, but that is highly debatable and anyone is free to disagree with me on that point. strongly suggest looking into Purble-Turble's AU for more background context on the Prince Red AU and how we got here. ***** to summarize the core idea of the plot: Prince Red decided to take in Mk as a disciple believing that he could "fix" his self-destructive nature using the same teachings and methods used on him as a child. this includes the five gold bands that were used to restrain and subdue red in his early years. his friends and fellow disciples are brought in on the plan as educators as well. however Red still overlooks their clear bias and dislike of the monkey kid, which leads to a lot of mistreatment that worsens over time. there are two ways currently discussed how this route could kick off, but the one I like best is where Prince Red successfully wins back Mk from Nezha. only to then quickly realize that it was a bad idea on his part. the whole reason he called things off with mk is because of the events of S5 and Mk's mindset. which is still the same if not worse now because Nezha encouraged his self-sacrificing tendencies (due to the lotus prince also suffering strongly from this unhealthy mindset). Red has effectively put himself into a troubling situation, as mk's breakup with Nezha had a huge emotional toll on both. Nezha was understandably heartbroken and has disappeared for the time being and Mk naturally was already carrying a lot of guilt. doesn't help that his friends and family expressed disappointment in how he handled things. the boy is in a very bad state of mind again so Red has to be careful how he handles things going forward. but things can't stay as they are, and they can't go back to how they were, not yet, not until mk fixes himself....or maybe he could fix mk? ***** THERE'S GONNA BE MORE TO THIS I'm working on more details, I'm just starting with this basic summary because I'm super anxious about doing this and overthinking a lot of my writing and formatting. which has me procrastinating on it like a mfer. so if I don't post this much I'm probably gonna overthink myself into just not doing it at all. Anxiety is such fun.

Flowering arrangement (FA) Au mk gets nezha to do this often back in their world it's pretty much there inside joke.

So wanting to see how long he can prank everyone he happily tells everyone

"oh yes I know him, this is Lee my personal attendant and gaurd. My husband insisted I have one with me while out... apparently including here too it seems."

"you know full well he wouldn't insist a babysitter if you didn't get up to mischief when bored."

nezha is more then used to this role and is content to play along out of habit.

everyone's reactions is a mix of

"wait are you like royalty or something??"

And

"YOU'RE MARRIED!?"

So in my search for more nezha content I came across a compilation of nezha moments from a movie called Legend of Hei

And in one of the scenes nezha gets a comment about his hair and he responds with

" if it weren't for the recognizability I'd have changed it long ago."

Then proceeded to demonstrate by removing his hair buns and everyone promptly being unable to recognize him anymore. 😂

Anyway that's how I'd have my new flowering arrangement Au nezha be introduced to the nexus.

He just comes in looking to check up on his mk (the ones that's currently hiding out in the nexus) and no one manages to recognize who he is because he has his hair styled differently for the visit.

somehow even the other nezha's get confused 🤣

Oh my gosh Nezha’s hair buns being the only recognizable thing about him (even though he has those emperor eyebrows on his forehead which are highly noticeable lol) but yeah, without his double buns, Nezha is just some guy 😂 He could absolutely use this to his advantage if he ever needed to be sneaky too, like Superman becoming Clark Kent

Also the idea of him showing up at the Battle Nexus without his hair in buns and everyone just being like ?????🤔 who’s that guy???? Even the other Nezhas is just hilarious! The power of the hair buns is so great that it even confounds Nezha himself.. if he looks in a mirror while his hair is down he probably does that thing where a cat thinks the mirror is another cat and bristles like WHO’S THAT??? 🤣
