hey, um… i wrote this story.
it’s a slow-burn gl romance set in college—lots of quiet moments, fake dating, and feelings that sneak up on you.
if that sounds like your thing, maybe give it a read? no pressure though.

Dream Daddy Preview #7
Tumblr media
Finn stood in front of his bedroom mirror, and smirked to himself. Ryan and Mara were due to arrive any second, and he looked fabulous.
The outfit was a carefully curated sort of thing—he didn't want to look obvious. No, he was quickly figuring out that Vance was the sort of man you had to reel in real slow. After all, if Vance worked out exactly what Finn was up to, he'd probably freak right out and babble on and on about that stupid contract.
Finn had read the contract carefully, of course. Sure, it said that Vance wasn't allowed to come on to Finn, but it definitely didn't say anything about Finn coming on to Vance.
So, the outfit.
He'd kept the jean shorts on. It hadn't been hard to miss the way Vance's entire brain had turned off when Finn spun on his heel and showed off at least half his ass. With it, he just added a V-neck T-shirt, the collar showing off a small portion of his chest, which had been previously waxed when Finn had borrowed Vance's credit card for a spa day—with his enthusiastic permission, of course.
The waxing hadn't been fun, but it wasn't nearly as painful as Ryan made it sound. Once Mara had somehow managed to convince Ryan to wax his legs after entirely too much beer and weed, and Ryan had shrieked like he was being murdered after one strip.
In contrast, Finn didn't find it to be that bad, not even when the girl went to wax his ass.
It had all been worth it if Vance's response had been anything to go by.
Finn smirked proudly as he admired himself in the mirror, then pulled up his hair into its usual man bun just as his phone buzzed with a text from Ryan, telling him that they were almost there.
Grinning, Finn grabbed his phone and all but skipped down to the main level of the house, arriving at the bottom stair just as one of the maids was letting the pair in.
Ryan and Mara had been to Vance's house a few times already, but they both still adopted a certain gobsmacked look on their faces every time they came by. Mara was always more reserved about it, but Ryan didn't bother to try hiding his amazement, and always looked like he was struggling to unstick his jaw from the floor.
“Seriously, bro, every time?” Finn called out while he signed, the volume of his voice making his words echo through the expansive halls. Ryan grinned shamelessly, and as Finn waved his hand in invitation, the pair followed him upstairs.
Catching up with Ryan and Mara had an unfortunate effect of giving Finn tunnel vision, and he forgot everything else but his two buds (because Mara dating Ryan automatically made her his bud).
On top of that, Vance's house happened to be stupid huge, so was it really his fault if he didn't hear the doorbell?

Gracing you again with my unedited full review of 𝙷𝚎𝚒𝚛𝚜 𝚘𝚏 𝙳𝚎𝚜𝚝𝚛𝚞𝚌𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗, a new high fantasy novel series that I enjoyed so much. I absolutely highly recommend this brilliantly written novel. My full review might contain SPOILERS, so be aware of that when you decide to read my unedited review.
Release Date: June 25, 2024
Date Finished and Reviewed (Goodreads): June 21, 2024
Ratings: 4⭐️
It took me a while to finish this because this novel was stressing me– NOT IN A BAD WAY BUT IN A GOOD WAY.
Going forward, the writing is brilliant. It did really well in drawing my attention and curiosity from the very start until the end. I was glad that the writing really did fit the story, I think that’s one of the main reasons I enjoyed this book very much.
The world building was intricate. I would say the author did well in introducing it in the novel, I quite enjoy it. The world building did really feel medieval to me and perhaps a little bit of the GoT atmosphere. I would definitely love to see more of it in the 2nd book. Although I’m quite waiting for the Dragon and Vampire concept to be shown more, it wasn’t that much here, so I hope the 2nd novel will exercise these more.
The plot was very much politial at the beginning. However, it did waned and went towards the character arc route, in my opinion, in like 60%, which I didn’t have a problem considering the characters were really likeable. I was really rooting for them all. Still, it was politically intrigued to me in some ways and more building of the storyline.
I would say I was more attached to the characters, especially Rhella and Virgil. Their dynamics and chemistry are undeniable. They’re giving me so much of a strong couple and ride or die couple vibes, and strangely, the Percy and Annabeth, I don’t know why, honestly. I’m definitely looking forward to the developments of this pairing.
Asriel, on the other hand, I was rooting for him to be honest, but after that scheme of his, I was upset. I was expecting so much of him, but I would say I’m disappointed with his character.
There are quite a few suspicious characters, in my opinion. I would say let’s see how it goes in the next instalment.
The parts towards the ending on the hand— I’m not quite sure how I should feel about it, I’m suspicious? It was abrupt to me and felt anticlimactic. That being said, let’s see how it would go after that part in the next instalment.
Overall, this was a solid introduction for the series. I’m really rooting for this and excited for the events, especially Rhaella, Virgil, Asriel, and the rest of the characters’ development in the next instalment ♡
If you like these, you’ll need to check this novel ♡
◇ political intrigue
◇ world building
◇ well written characters
◇ queer cast
◇ royals
◇ fantasy elements (dragons, prophecy, vampire, and the likes)
◇ strong and potentially ride and die couple
Thank you, author, for the e-arc opportunity, I definitely had fun in this novel. I’m super excited and can not wait for the 2nd instalment ♡
P.S. I made an honest mistake on my tbr post and had this book under sapphic, but the right category would be queer for the characters 🔖

For May’s #Lgbt+BookClub, we dove into ‘They Both Die at the End’ by Adam Silvera: a beautifully queer, wildly emotional story about love, mortality, and what it means to really live.
Silvera’s YA speculative fiction follows Mateo and Rufus - total strangers, who, for different reasons, are both looking to make a new friend on their End Day. The good news: There’s an app for that. It’s called the Last Friend, and through it, Rufus and Mateo are about to meet up for one last great adventure—to live a lifetime in a single day.

Satisfaction Guaranteed - Karelia Stetz-Waters
My review :: 4.5 stars - This book needs to be read. The discussion of loss, gas lighting, and sexuality within a safe space was done perfectly. It was.. it was just perfect. I finished and didn’t want it to be done.

Book Review for Attack of the Rom-Com
Tumblr media
For those of you who have seen the movie Isn’t This Romantic, this book will be right up your alley. When initially asked to read it, the cover made me think of Killer Klowns from Outer Space, with the sci-fi horror looking “edge”‘ to it. This book is anything but! Making fun of romantic comedy clichés, Attack of the Rom Com is a whole lot of fun and insanity. You won’t want to put it down as you “leap” from story to insane story.
There were very few things Sophie Sweet believed in: a leather jacket could cure anything, Doritos Surprise is the best meal ever, any conflict can be resolved with good ol’ fashion violence; but “twuwuv”, yeah that wasn’t one of them! She wasn’t interest in finding her perfect match, her soulmate, her other half. All she wanted was to enjoy a fun night out with her best friend Jodie at the carnival and maybe get in a few good pokes messing with her favorite psychic. What she got was a pink abomination named Tiffani, insight she could live without, and the unrealistic promise that Jodie would find true love (at least it came with a money back guarantee!). Having had enough “fun” for one night, Sophie and Jodie pass out at their traditional sleepover, only for Sophie to wake up… in high school?! On the gym floor no less. Trying to determine what fresh torment she has been subjected to, Sophie quickly realizes she is being forced to relive her worst days but with a twist – the most popular guy in high school has asked her to the prom. Sick to her stomach, Sophie’s suddenly aware that a lot is starting to resemble… a romantic comedy! As if things couldn’t get any worse, her pinkish nightmare… i.e. Tiffani the sociopath (I mean psychic) is Tiffany the Guidance Counselor! Letting her in on what’s about to go down, Sophie – against her will, plays along (to an extent) in order to end this nightmare… only to awaken as a pretty pretty princess. Each time Sophie believes she has checked the boxes to escape her torturer, she is placed in a brand new scenario. As each scenario plays out, despite her best efforts, Sophie begins to face the demons she carefully avoided, breaking through the walls until she can finally see what, rather who, has been waiting for her on the other side.
Thank you Martti Nelson for allowing me a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

⋆˙⊹ 𝚁𝚎𝚊𝚍𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚄𝚙𝚍𝚊𝚝𝚎 𝚏𝚘𝚛 𝙹𝚞𝚕𝚢 ⊹˙⋆
I'm back with my habit of reading multiple books, and if I want, I could have gone up to 6 current, to be honest 😆
Tumblr media
But I don't want to overwhelm myself that much. In general, I'm enjoying all three so far. I have a feeling that one of these books will be another fave of mine.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Perks of Being an S- Class Heroine Vol. 1- Recently finished it actually. I gave it a 5⭐ Black Tide Son (The Winter Sea #2)- Everything's pretty tense already, and the urge to finish it is so strong 🤚🏽Hoping to finish it tomorrow or the next.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tide To You Vol.1- liking it so far, but I had this awkward feeling about it when I'm reading it, probably because of the romance dev. The Next Best Fling- will be starting it today as well. I'm excited about this one as well 🩷 will be officially starting it right after I finish S Class Heroine ✨️
That's it for now ✨️ I do hope you are having a wonderful day and a wonderful reading experience✨️

I Finished She Gets The Girl Last night!
Hi there! After weeks of reading I finally finished She Gets The Girl last night, and oh my god it was AMAZING. The book was one hell of a slow burn, with Molly and Alex finally getting together at the VERY end of the book, however it wasn't frustrating at all, it was far from it. By the end when the two girls finally got together after HUNDREDS of pages of anticipation I was sooo overjoyed.
