An adorable story about a chaotic witch working in a prestigious finance role and her encouter with her frienemy, a happy-go-lucky, non-profit hero who gives little miracles with a flick of his hand. The story follows along the two as they navigate their friendship, banters, and sudden yearn for each other, while trying to find their missing magical items, all while hidding the fact that their day work is pitting themselves against each other.
This is my first book of the author and I’m so happy to have found her 🥹🫶 I don’t usually read a lot of cozy (??) fantasy because most of the time it’s a little too ‘tame’ for me 🤣🤭 At first glance this does give that cozy fantasy vibe but I really atee up the little spice and banter tucked within the coziness that made this book a perfect wind down read while still having that elements of excitement 🥰🥰
Thank you to the author for sending me the ARC for an honest review 🫶 #TheWitchofWallStreet #NetGalley

Hello friends! As you may know, the Kobo side of ARC readers kinda got upset at NetGalley for implementing a change we were not made aware of beforehand: they changed the .ACSM format of books to the LCP format. Unfortunately Kobo does not natively support the LCP format and while we have been told that Kobo has it on the roadmap and that NetGalley has heard the complaints and they are working on a solution, no timeline has been announced. Thanks to a random thread that popped up, I have found out how to convert the LCP format to one that is readable for Kobos a.k.a an EPUB. There will be a longer SubStack with all the necessary screenshots as well as a YouTube video with a tutorial so please keep an eye out for that (please be patient because I am a one-woman team over here). If you have any questions, please feel free to leave them below and I will try my best to answer. Additionally, if you need extra help, feel free to DM me (KINDLY) and I will do my best to direct you in the right direction. Share this so that your Kobo user followers can read their e-arcs and despair no more! Happy reading! Love, Mila

— i am not jessica chen arc review 🪩🎀
As a girl in her early 20s who expresses herself through art and perfectionism, this book was like looking into a mirror. 𝘐 𝘈𝘮 𝘕𝘰𝘵 𝘑𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘤𝘢 𝘊𝘩𝘦𝘯 is a heartfelt exploration of identity, belonging, and the complexities of cultural expectations. Ann Liang dives into the suffocating weight of familial pressures and aspirations and its effects on a teenage girl who already struggles with self-doubt, imposter syndrome, and the fear of failure.
This book is “this is me trying” x academia featuring a burnt out perfectionist, a failing art student, and the quiet prodigy. Jenna Chen wishes to have the perfect life, a perfect family, and a perfect future— just like her cousin, Jessica Chen. However, Jenna quickly learns how 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵 her cousin’s life is once she steps into her shoes. Upholding Jessica’s seemingly pristine outward appearance may be the most difficult challenge she faces yet. Jenna loses herself in the glory of being Harvard-bound and top of her class. While she strives to keep Jessica’s grades up, maintain her friendships, and family obligations— she finds that the girl she used to be is quickly slipping away.
This story embraces the 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘴 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳 trope so well, I had the best time uncovering Aaron’s true feelings towards Jenna through his actions. Through it all, the most satisfying part is Jenna realizing that there is somebody who already loves her as she is. All she has to do is see that she is already the perfect daughter, the perfect student, and the perfect girl for Aaron Cai.
“𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘴𝘰 𝘢𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘷𝘦, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘷𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘢 𝘴𝘱𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦
𝘍𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘮𝘺 𝘤𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘐 𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘶𝘱 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦”
- 𝘛𝘢𝘺𝘭𝘰𝘳 𝘚𝘸𝘪𝘧𝘵
If you relate to these lyrics— this book is for you.
If you’re a burnt out overachiever— this book is for you.
If you’re a mirrorball— this book is for you.
I cannot wait for 𝘐 𝘈𝘮 𝘕𝘰𝘵 𝘑𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘤𝘢 𝘊𝘩𝘦𝘯 to be released and I hope you love it as much as I did. In the meantime I will be patiently awaiting Ann Liang's next release, 𝘕𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘛𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘐’𝘥 𝘌𝘯𝘥 𝘜𝘱 𝘏𝘦𝘳𝘦. Lastly, I would like to thank the author, publisher, and Netgalley for this ARC.

Book Review: Quiver by Rachel Spangler
My angst loving friends, I have the book for you. Quiver is a second chance, celebrity, small town, sports and ice queen romance all rolled into one beautifully healing love story.
Kylie Manchester’s once blossoming acting career is waning. In an attempt to save a big audition she tells the director about her amazing skills as a mounted archer… too bad she isn’t one. But she does know one, a champion, only getting the ex-love of her life to agree to help her will be only slightly less painful than actually working with her everyday.
The tension between Kye and Fletcher flares like a wildfire from the start. Their borderline obsession with their work is both what broke them apart, and kept them moving forward for the last 12 years. Fletcher agrees to help Kylie out of a need to give her what she needs to leave as quickly as possible.
The very slow coming together is painful and beautiful, you will want to yell at them and cry for them more than once. I would consider both of the main characters ice queens to different degrees, and their well-earned walls are thick. Without their connection to each other both women suffered in their personal lives never truly able to move on, but unwilling to move backwards.
The combat sport of mounted archery plays a major role in the book and is honestly just so cool. Every scene was descriptive and made me feel like I was there, in the barn, watching the horses and arrows fly by.

The S Word is an erotic strangers-lovers romance novel featuring cam workers. Nicole is seductive, cocky, and a flirt there’s no denying that. She is a woman with drive and that leads her to meeting Alexander. They form a collaboration together on the website they both stream and sparks fly. Alexander and Nicole bend rules on their streams that push Alexander’s no sex rule to its limits. But they are open to pushing those limits because of the other. The two have a chemistry from the moment they first interact that neither of them understands. It’s new and strange to them neither truly knowing what to do or how to proceed yet unable to stop themselves.
However, not everyone is how they seem online or in person. Whether it’s an ex, a stranger or otherwise. Like Alexander says “Honesty is something hard to find these days. Especially online.” He isn’t wrong, not at all. Sometimes, online we find beauty true friendships and love but there’s always that danger lurking. People don’t realize how dangerous an online public presence can be and Nyssa explores that danger beautifully well, the ups and downs. The good we find and also the bad. And the bad does come. With public a persona people can’t always separate real from fake public from private, persona from person. Not everyone who follows wishes for your happiness. Some wish for misery. Some can’t let go of what they think is theirs.
Through twists and turns hidden truths and lies we follow Alexander and Nicole further through their story. Both characters are human both make mistakes. Threats follow as does more. Rules exist for a reason and the aftermath of breaking them isn’t always pretty even if it’s not the fault of the one who broke them. Sometimes consequences be damned, breaking the rules is worth it despite the end result. But, is it in this case? Alexander fulfills Nicole’s wildest dreams and biggest fantasies they are good together but, after everything, will they make it? Will they end up together?
I try not to write reviews with too many spoilers. I start with a summary and then I say how I feel. I absolutely loved this book! The S Word was a trip. A great trip. I love Alexander and Nicole as individuals and together. I love how human they are and how much I could understand the emotions they were feeling. The story did have me wanting more while I read it and Nyssa delivered. This story isn’t just about sex it’s about the characters and their lives, about their interpersonal relationships and I truly enjoy that in books I read. Nyssa’s writing like I have said before pulls you in and gets you to think. You feel her characters emotions and you can’t help but, become invested in their stories. You want to know more. You need to see how the story ends. Nyssa may write fiction, romance, erotica you name it but, her stories always keep her characters human. Characters we can relate to in so many ways. Even though they are experiencing lives entirely different than our own. Her stories bring to light real things that happen and can happen while telling us a fictional story of characters. I love that about Nyssa’s writing and I am so glad she writes like this. I look forward to her future novels because I guarantee that we haven’t seen anything yet! More great books will come from Nyssa.
This was an advanced reader copy given to me for an honest review. Thank you to Nyssa Winters and BookSirens for this ARC. I received this advanced review copy for free, and I am leaving this review 100% voluntarily.
The S Word Releases on August 1, 2023, on Amazon in Kindle and Kindle Unlimited as well as in paperback.

~ You will be my greatest weapon ~
Kaevra Tenebris and her sister has been moving and hiding their whole lives. Kaevra never understands why she lives on a run and dreams for a quiet and peaceful life, that is until the Queen comes after her for something she doesn’t even realise is hidden dormant inside her. Suddenly realising every secrets hidden from her, she must choose to trust unlikely allies, deals with mysterious bursts of dark magic she has yet to fully understand, and her treacherous heart to figure out a way to make it out of all of this alive.
Rowanthar owed his life to the Queen after being taken under her wing from a devastating war. When he received his next assignment to hunt down a girl to stop the end of a kingdom, doubts start to appear in his head. Like how can a simple girl threaten a kingdom? Or how can crows burst out of nowhere? Or if maybe he can leave the grip of the Queen and follow his heart, wherever it might lead?
~ Remember, power should serve you, not control you. ~
This book is enchanting, fiesty, and what a gripping world it was. The tension between the main leads, and the schemes of the throne unfolds slow and perfectly. If you love magical kingdoms, dark magic, enemies to…scheming partners. Then you need to mark this book for your next read expected to be release in June. Thank you to the author for the eARC!
~ If they want me to be a weapon, they’ll regret ever forging me. ~

Oh No! There's An Incubus in my Hot Spring: Book Review
Genre: Cozy Romance/Short Story/Paranormal
Summary of the Novel:
My boyfriend cheated on me, so I bought a possibly haunted hot spring in BFE, Colorado. Oops.
To make matters worse, the owner of my competition seems determined to crush my fledgling business at every turn. Oh, and the rumors are true…there’s an incubus demon trapped in my hot spring.
Just when I thought my life might get started, I find out my rival is blocking my contractor requests, making it impossible to get this dump running again. So, in a bid to save my business, I reluctantly negotiate with the demon: his infernal magic for my business’s success. The catch? I have to let him get me hotter than the steaming waters to fuel his power and promise him freedom when my business has legs.
But what started as a purely pragmatic arrangement soon blurs into something dangerously sensual. I yearn for our charged encounters and ache for his touch. As our arrangement nears its end, and the deadline to free him looms, I face an impossible choice: protect my budding business or risk it all for the demon who has captured my heart.

Thank you to Book Sirens and Ember Holt for this ARC Copy! I have left this review voluntarily!
---
Okay, let me preface this by saying that I am a HUGE monster romance fan. When I saw a copy of this book looking to be ARC read, my excited little hands grabbed it as soon as possible!
The story follows Sylvia and Apollo, a human and incubus, who bond while Sylvia repairs the Hot Spring that Apollo is bound to. This was a cozy romance with very minimal drama and lots of spice, and I enjoyed every single second reading this book! Usually, I like to split my books at 5 chapters a day, but I gobbled this up in 3 days!
Sylvia is a fiercely independent woman who struggles with her workaholic tendencies and the expectations of everyone who thinks she needs to rely on her scumbag ex, Jason. Meanwhile, Apollo is the cutest cinnadom and incubus who's looking for his one true mate.
The bond between Sylvia and Apollo is incredible, and the side characters were all incredible! I cheered when Jason got what he deserved, and I swear my seat grew warm when I read Sylvia and Apollo's scenes. Sylvia is a woman I absolutely want as my friend and whom I can root for, and Apollo, sweet, dear Apollo...I want my own Apollo LOL.
I will say, the ending threw me for a loop. I feel the sudden drama and reveals that happened were too quick and it felt a bit rushed. But that's just my opinion and it shouldn't stop ANYONE from reading this book, because honestly, it was incredible. I also loved the backstories, especially Apollo's, because it all made sense. The magic didn't just appear out of nowhere and there weren't any loose ends.
As for the spice...well...that's incredible. Sylvia and Apollo had amazing chemistry, both when they were watching cat-memes or being intimate. And again, Apollo is a sweetheart who needs to be protected at all costs!

It’s magical to be an arc reader because I can be one of many people to help the book on its journey. It’s not the same as reading a book already published. Arc reading is a privilege I am proud to have when I am selected to be an arc reader. I especially value arc reading as an author

So thankful for the opportunity to be an arc reader for this book!
Quick read romance without spice (needed a break from that honestly 😅). Part 1 of a duo that comes out January 27th and can’t wait to order a physical copy! (part two releases Valentine’s Day).
Loved Grey from the get go when he came to rescue Harlow from a creep.
Wasn’t too keen on Abby at first, but after finishing the book, the same thing that I didn’t like about her endeared her to me 😂.

Arc Tour: Our Green Heart: The Soul and Science of Forests by Diana Beresford-Kroeger
Out Now
In this inspiring culmination of Diana Beresford-Kroeger’s life’s work as a botanist, biochemist, biologist and poet of the global forest, she delivers a challenge to us all to dig deeper into the science of forests and the ways they will save us from climate breakdown—and then do our part to plant and protect them.

Witnessing someone’s passion for a topic is truly captivating, and this is precisely what Our Green Heart offers. Dr. Beresford-Kroeger possesses a remarkable talent for crafting compelling narratives that weave together her own story and the stories of the forest.
