i'm sure i can guess, but. thoughts on the kotlc smut debate? do you think it's appropriate?

I'm not interested in getting into discourse, so I'll try and keep this short and sweet (also, none of this is angry or targeted at anyone and I’m fine talking about it—I’m just not interested in senseless, unproductive arguing!!)

As the subjects are fictional, I don't care. They aren't real people. Smut written about them does not impact or hurt them in any way.

What someone chooses to write about and why is not my business. If it's smut written by teens about teens as a means of exploring sexuality, if its a means of processing experiences or abuse, if its for fun--whatever it is, that's their business. Including for adult authors. They can have just as valid motivations, not that they need to justify themselves. They literally cannot hurt these characters

As for real people, such as fans, no one is forced to read it. If you find yourself in the middle of something that makes you uncomfortable, you can stop reading and walk away. And yes, there may be initial discomfort as you realize--for which I am sympathetic, but it happens and that is on you to manage, not the author.

Authors are also not responsible for rule breakers who access sites they're not old enough for. We're responsible for tagging and adhering to the rules of hosting sites

Also, smut as a whole is a valid form of writing/creation. Sexuality is a normal (note: I am not saying it is the ONLY normal. ace here), widespread part of life, and sexual gratification and enjoyment are morally neutral

Am I personally gonna write any kotlcrew smut? No. Am I gonna read any? Probably no. Not my kind of kotlc fic. I by and large don't enjoy it. But fic writers who chose to engage with the subject here are not writing about real people, and not responsible for real people's comfort with their work beyond tagging.

Smut is always going to exist. It is safer for all parties if it is freely allowed to exist so no one has to disclose potentially very personal justifications (e.g. processing abuse/experiences), and so it can be properly tagged and avoided by those who want/need to--otherwise individuals will not tag appropriately in the interest of not being taken down, and that helps no one.

and since this was brought up last time: this is my stance. I can't tell you how to think, and I don't decide for anyone else what is right from wrong. i can only share my reasonings

Oh also: I don’t hold it against anyone who’s disgusted or uncomfortable with it! That’s fine. I don’t enjoy it either! Valid! But that doesn’t mean we can say it shouldn’t exist or harass people who write it (not saying anyone has, this is just addressing the broad question)

— dad!atsumu is the type to push his kids into volleyball (his heart broke when he found out his son did NOT want to be a setter and wanted osamu to teach him how to be a wingspiker)

— definitely tries to attend every game his son has and would be so embarrassing whenever his son would score a point that he asks atsumu to tone it down or have osamu stand in as replacement (BRO WAS SULKING AFTER THAT)

— i feel like he'd actually use osamu to stand in for him if there's a big game and he wants osamu to recount every second as if he's living the experience thru his twin (osamu is TIRED but knows that atsumu doesn't want his kid thinking he isn't showing up)

— he takes her out to lil daddy-daughter dinners in the fanciest attire 🥹

— i have this hc where when his children were toddlers he and osamu would always play parent swap and laugh whenever his kids would get confused and cry

i can so so see tsumu pushing his kids to become a setter (he may or may not have been patiently waiting to teach them his techniques 😭) at the end of the day he’d be supportive of samu teaching them instead but would have the biggest pout during training sessions LMAOO but he’d happy toss so his kids could spike them!!! (and in his mind, maybe its not too bad that his kids want to be a wingspiker since he gets to set to them) and YES YES YES he’d absolutely ask osamu to stand in because even though he’s not there physically, he’s there in spirit and that’s all that matters <3

oh my GODDD i live for those parent swap pranks 😭 they’d absolutely do it more times than not (once his child liked being in osamu’s arms more than his and he got all sulky while trying to prove that he’s the REAL dad)

“okay setter of first league MSBY, wash the fucking dishes.” I AM CRYINGGG tsumu would definitely use that as an excuse to try and sneakily avoid chores but that ain’t happening in the miya household!!! he’s honestly the type to just be like “yes ma’am 🫡” no questions asked bc he might be big n tall but he has a soft spot for his wife (and hes a scaredy cat, just a bit, though)

Heyyyy y’all I come bearing a gift for you all ✨✨ (it’s Sheriff’s design in the Cyberpunk Au)

I debated posting this, not sure if I should wait to do the others but decided to just do them individually so I can talk about the design, the character in the Au and other things I feel the need to mention.

So without further ado, here’s Sheriffs design:

So, with Sheriffs design I wanted something interesting yet something that’d be mostly practical for his line of work. So he’s got a cool jacket for that with some orange accents to represent the district he lives in (I’ll talk about districts at a later date.) the orange accents are also on his shoes and the thingys on his pants.

The back of his jacket has the star to represent the sheriffs star he has in canon because I didn’t want to give him an actual one in this, if you’ve seen the one or two drawings I did of Hero, i did the same thing there just with the sleeves.

Moving on.

On his right arm, you’ll see what is essentially an electronic glove with a screen in his arm. It’s something Shooter created early into his and Sheriffs partnership, it does many things including having a built in map and communication app of Shooters design. Aside from using earpieces, this is their main form of contact, especially during stealth missions where it’s dangerous to speak.

And moving onto the left arm, we’ve got Sheriffs cybernetic arm, this is obviously to replace his mutated one in canon. It’s got dark greys on it in order to blend into the night but does have a light mode variant he can switch to at anytime. Yes, the shell of the arm can switch between light and dark and even a bunch of other colours. It’s a newer model in the world and is highly customisable. The arm also shifts into a gun as seen below the arm on the main drawing. There’s two variations, the first being where the hand becomes the gun and the second where it pops out of a compartment on the arm. I’m leaning more towards the first option but you guys can leave your thoughts.

There’s also his visor which is not on the main drawing but beside it, another one of Shooters creations, the visors job is to scramble facial recognition technology in order to keep Sheriffs identity secure. It can also make it seem like his eyes are a different colour to what they are. The visor also comes equipped with a mini map for when checking his sleeve isn’t an option.

Those are really the main parts of his design I wanted to mention. So let’s talk about other things about him.

In the MBCPAU, Sheriff is a bounty hunter and occasional assassin. He takes up odd jobs even given to him by clients or by other sources who give him information on criminals who have a bounty over their head. He’s obviously in this for the money, needing to pay off the loan he used to purchase his cybernetic arm (and have the surgery to get it attached. Yes it’s surgically attached to his body.) and to keep himself and Ryan under a safe roof. Ryan is wheelchair bound and doesn’t have an electronic one, not being able to afford it. Sheriff is also saving for one because he doesn’t want Ryan to strain himself trying to get around the house (which has been made as wheelchair accessible as possible.)

Sheriff met Shooter in high school and the two have been close ever since, Shooter has been assisting Sheriff on his missions since Sheriff barged into Shooters apartment one night, bleeding and delirious. Sheriff is thankful he’s on his team, Shooter saving his ass more times then he can count. Shooter doesn’t usually join him on missions, instead hanging back in his apartment and offering guidance from there.

Also this isn’t about Sheriff but Shooters parents are absolutely loaded (they’re head engineers for the company who produces cybernetic parts) so he lives in district 3.

My favorite interpretation of Atsumu is where he’s needy and slightly pathetic about it. Sure, you can go and do your own thing, babe. Have fun! The moment you get home, he is on you and tryna smooch every bit of skin he can. His favorite thing aside from volleyball is holding you as close as possible, very closely followed by fucking you silly. Atsumu is your biggest fan (his friends call him a simp which he says, “Duh”) He just hopes you’re his biggest fan too.

this is how i interpret tsumu in my atsuyue selfship :> he doesn’t care if his friends call him a simp—in fact, he even relishes in it because in his eyes, its a whole compliment to be simping for his girl !!!! <3 (because everyone should be a simp for their partner!) honestly, tsumu will consider himself a loverboy first, and a professional volleyball player second, and he has so so many ways to show that love. especially when he’s balls deep, the only thing in his mind are a thousand ‘i love you’s’, and he makes sure to say every single one. he has permanent heart eyes, and isn’t afraid to show it off!! :>
