Irradiation of nuclei with radio-frequency radiation of the appropriate energy causes some of those in the lower energy spin state to absorb energy and results in their nuclear spins flipping from the lower energy state to the higher energy state, as illustrated in figure 20.22.

Are EMF’s safe? (come, child, ruin your night)
y’all ready for this? I’m not anti-5G, btw turn your wifi off before bed and maybe stop keepin’ ya phone so close all the time
But like... why, though?
I've had my suspicions about cell towers being hazardous to health for a few years now and felt convinced enough to not bother researchin' it for confirmation. Now that I'm blah blah blah, I decided to actually bother. Since it got kinda heavy, I had to ask myself if I should put in hella more effort creatin' a damn research report of sorts for y'all asses present the info for others like it's a damn PSA. And my conscious won. T~T
But like... what, though?
A base station (aka: cell phone tower) is that shit you see everywhere but never notice. It's usually tall af and has panel antennas on it. It's "used for the transmission and reception of the radio signals between the mobile phones and the network." The problem with 'em is the electromagnetic field (EMF) their equipment can give off... for half a mile. 😐
In short, they've been found to cause health problems. Like cancer. 🤷🏿‍♂️
Fun fact, panel antennas can be installed on the roof/side of buildings that may be directly across the street from someone's workplace... with the antenna at their elevation. 🤷🏿‍♀️

5 Studies
V/m = volts per meter 7191 cancer deaths were selected according to the above mentioned criterias out of a total of 22,493 cancer deaths. The most significant causes were lung cancer (19.6 %), stomach cancer (14.1 %), prostate cancer (12.6 %), and breast cancer (11.5 %). The mean electric field intensity of the measurements in 2008 was 7.32 V/m, varying from 0.4 to 12.4 V/m. At a distance of up to 100 m [328.08 ft], the absolute number of deaths was 3569, (49.6 % of all deaths), the mortality rate was 43.4 persons per 10,000 [0.43%] and the relative risk was 1.35 in relation to the mortality rate of 32.1 per 10,000 [0.32%] inhabitants of the entire Belo Horizonte municipality [in Minas Gerais, Brazil]. A mortality rate of 34.8 per 10,000 [0.35%] inhabitants was observed for the residents living within 500 m [1,640.42 ft] of the base stations; this rate decreased for residents living farther from the base stations.

The result of the study [of 967 permanent residents] shows that the proportion of newly developing cancer cases was significantly higher among those [320] patients who had lived during the past ten years at a distance of up to 400 metres [1,312.34 ft] from the cellular transmitter site, which has been in operation since 1993, compared to those patients living further away, and that the patients fell ill on average 8 years earlier. In the years 1999-2004, ie after five years' operation of the transmitting installation, the relative risk of getting cancer had trebled for the residents of the area in the proximity of the installation compared to the inhabitants of Naila[,Germany,] outside the area.

9 cancer cases were observed in the first period 2000 - 2004 and 14 cases in the period 2005 - June 2007 among [1,283] residents living within a radius of 400 m [1,312.34 ft] to a mobile phone base station [in Germany (Hennen, suburb of Iserlohn, Westfalia)]. The mean age of disease onset was 59.2 years in the first period and 59.3 years in the second period in comparison to the expected value of 66.4 years evaluated from the Saarland Cancer Registry. The authors concluded, that a statistically significant increase of cancer incidence was observed 5 years after the base station has been started operating.

Area A: ≤ 350 m / 1148.3 ft from base station Area B: > 350 m / 1148.3 ft from base station Of the 622 people of area A, 8 cases of different kinds of cancer were diagnosed in a period of one year (from July 1997 - June 1998). The cancer incidence rate was 129 cases per 10,000 [1.29%] persons per year in area A compared to 16/10,000 [0.16%] in area B and 31/10,000 [0.31%] in the town of Netanya [in Israel]. Relative cancer rates for females were 10.5 for area A, 0.6 for area B and 1 for Netanya. The authors conclude that the study indicates an association between increased incidence of cancer and living in proximity to a mobile phone base station.

Took forever to get this damn infographic just right. >.>
A long-term study was conducted in Germany to investigate the influence of a mobile phone base station on neurotransmitters under true-to-life conditions. µW/m² = microWatts per square meter 24 out of 60 participants were exposed to a power density of < 60 µW/m², 20 participants to 60 - 100 µW/m², and 16 participants to more than 100 µW/m² . The values of the stress hormones adrenaline and noradrenaline grew significantly during the first 6 months after starting the GSM base station; the values of the precursor substance dopamine substantially decreased in this time period. The initial condition was not restored even after 1.5 years. Due to the not regulable chronic difficulties of the stress balance, the phenylethylamine levels dropped until the end of the investigation period. The effects show a dose-effect relationship and are situated far under the valid limit values.

While I did find 17 different figures for it, I’mma save myself the bother of describin’ dat noise and not include ‘em thanks~.
But what does the FCC say?
FCC.gov’s conclusion seems to be that they’re generally safe for civilian life as long as you don’t get close and aren’t directly in front of the antenna’s trajectory (don’t climb a fuckin’ tower or enter those rooms/buildings). A very “it’s fine” set of conclusions tbh. Hella contrasted by other sources.
Nonetheless… below is the index...
FCC’s RF Safety FAQ Index:
What is "radiofrequency" and microwave radiation?
What is non-ionizing radiation?
How is radiofrequency energy used?
How is radiofrequency radiation measured?
What biological effects can be caused by RF energy?
Can people be exposed to levels of radiofrequency radiation and microwaves that could be harmful?
Can radiofrequency radiation cause cancer?
What research is being done on RF biological effects?
What levels are safe for exposure to RF energy?
Why has the FCC adopted guidelines for RF exposure?
How safe are mobile phones? Can they cause cancer?
How can I obtain the specific absorption rate (SAR) value for my mobile phone?
Do "hands-free" ear pieces for mobile phones reduce exposure to RF emissions?   What about mobile phone accessories that claim to shield the head from RF radiation?
Can mobile phones be used safely in hospitals and near medical telemetry equipment?
Are wireless and PCS towers and antennas safe?
Are cellular and other radio towers located near homes or schools safe for residents and students?
Are emissions from radio and television antennas safe?
How safe are radio antennas used for paging and "two-way" communications?   What about "push-to-talk" radios such as "walkie-talkies?"
How safe are microwave and satellite antennas?
Are RF emissions from amateur radio stations harmful?
What is the FCC's policy on radiofrequency warning signs?  For example, when should signs be posted, where should they be located and what should they say?
Can implanted electronic cardiac pacemakers be affected by nearby RF devices such as microwave ovens or cellular telephones?
Does the FCC regulate exposure to radiation from microwave ovens, television sets and computer monitors?
Does the FCC routinely monitor radiofrequency radiation from antennas?
Does the FCC maintain a database that includes information on the location and technical parameters of all the towers and antennas it regulates?
Which other federal agencies have responsibilities related to potential RF health effects?
Can local and state governmental bodies establish limits for RF exposure?
Where can I obtain more information on potential health effects of radiofrequency energy?
The Government Accountability Office (GAO) prepared a [2012] report of its investigation into safety concerns related to mobile phones.  The report concluded that further research is needed to confirm whether mobile phones are completely safe for the user, and the report recommended that the FDA take the lead in monitoring the latest research results.
Professional Opinion...
Safe Distance from Cell Towers…
It is also difficult to predict a safe distance from cell towers.  For example, cell towers are designed to transmit most of their radio frequency (RF) energy horizontally.  Some areas below the tower may have lower levels than locations farther away that are more in line with the vertical height of the antennas. The exposure from a cell tower will depend on the type of antennas, the number of antennas, how much the antennas are actually being used, the time of day, etc.  The distance needed to reduce exposures down to the General Public Precautionary Level of 100 microwatts per meter squared (μW/m²) is often around a quarter of a mile (1320 feet) or more.  Due to the uncertainty, on-site testing with a broadband RF test meter is strongly recommended. A German study reported that people living within 400 meters (1312 feet) of cell towers had over 3 times the normal rate for new cancers (City of Naila 2004).  In an Israeli study, the relative risk for cancer was about 4 times greater within 350 meters (1148 feet) of the cell tower (Wolf et al. 1997).  Based on findings like these, a minimum safety distance of 1/4 mile (1320 feet) might be considered prudent. (...) The suggestions for safety distances in this chart are generally based on Michael Neuert’s [engineer, licensed electrician, and health educator] professional on-site testing of the various EMF sources in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1992.

Based on the accumulated evidence, we recommend that IARC [the International Agency for Research on Cancer] re-evaluate its 2011 classification of the human carcinogenicity of RFR [radio-frequency radiation], and that WHO [the World Health Organization] complete a systematic review of multiple other health effects such as sperm damage. In the interim, current knowledge provides justification for governments, public health authorities, and physicians/allied health professionals to warn the population that having a cell phone next to the body is harmful, and to support measures to reduce all exposures to RFR.

Lookup (or pull out) your cellphone’s manual and search for the sections on “radio frequency exposure” and “Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) information” to see how close the phone can safely be kept near your body… and that it should be kept away from “the bellies of pregnant women and for teenagers, away from the lower abdomen.” 😐
For an informative giggle, here’s the “Harmful Cell Phones” segment from season 7 of The Colbert Report.

"Just like us, using mobile phones, satellites also communicate with each other and with receiving stations on Earth using radio waves. Ideally, however, elaborate agreements with Network Agencies prevent satellites to interfere with radio astronomy observatories. An exception that has not been researched so far is the interference radiation that emanates from the on-board electronics of certain satellites, for exmple the Starlink satellite constellation of SpaceX
Scientists from a number of leading research institutions including the Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy in Bonn, Germany, used the Low Frequency Array (Lofar) telescope to observe 68 of SpaceX’s satellites. The authors conclude that they detected “unintended electromagnetic radiation” emanating from onboard electronics. This is different from communications transmissions, which had been the primary focus for radio astronomers so far. The unintended radiation could impact astronomical research. They encourage satellite operators and regulators to consider this impact on radio astronomy in spacecraft development and regulatory processes alike.."

Okay branching off the fanfic where Alastor has a wife in heaven after being murdered, so what if she has a radio show in heaven to match her husband’s and it somehow intercepts Alastors show in hell and he gets to hear his wifes singing one more time before it cuts out.
(Small idea lolz)
THIS MADE ME SAAAAADDD AAAHHHHH!!!!!!!
Tumblr media
Alastor was in the middle of his broadcast when the signal went out.
Odd. There shouldn’t be any reason that his radio show is being intercepted by anything.
The radio made a static buzz noise as if trying to find the right channel. Finally the static cleared, and what came through was something that he hadn’t heard in years.
His red eyes widened as your soft voice came through the radio.
”Salutations to all you lovely souls out there! We are down to the last segment of tonight’s show and Im feelin a bit nostalgic, so ill sing my favorite song for all you lovebirds out there.”
~Life Is But A Dream~
Will you take part in my life, my love?
that is my dream
life is but a dream, its what you make it
Always try to give, don’t ever take it
Life has its music, life has its song of love, love
Life is but a dream and I dream of you
Strange as it seems all night I see you
……
The radio cut out again, the channel radiating static before the signal returned to normal and now it was set back to Hell’s frequency.
Alastor sat there in shock.
You were in Heaven.
His sweet wife who was taken from him brutally was in Heaven.
That meant you were Angel.
A shaky laugh escaped his chest as his eyes burned.
That song…it was the song that played the first night he met you and just knew you were the one for him.
It was played at your wedding, the two of you sung it when you got drunk.
He slammed his hands on the control panel, his claws sinking in the metal and leaving claw marks.
He wished to see you, to hold you, to wrap his arms around you and weep into your hair.
He’s missed you so much.
Life is But A Dream
he started laughing manically at the irony of the song.
Life was but a dream…but that doesn’t mean he couldn’t make seeing you again a reality.

The Ranger (Part 1)
Tumblr media
Summary: The reader is trying to enjoy her vacation in the rainy forest in her cozy cabin when an unexpected heat comes on. But things turn dangerous fast and she needs the help of a local forest ranger to get out of it. But she wasn't expecting his help to include claiming her and being her true mate. Because something isn't right and her Alpha is keeping something from her...
Masterlist
Pairing: Alpha!Dean x Omega!reader
Word Count: 5,300ish
Warnings: language, life threatening medical situation, angst
A/N: Please enjoy this first part!
_______
This was not an ideal situation. You’d finally done it and taken that solo vacation in the mountains. A cozy cabin in a retreat from the world. The trees had turned already and were bare but the damp, cloudy rainy day would have been perfect to curl up by the wood fireplace and get through that stack of books you’d been meaning to.
Except your heat, your heat that’d always been on schedule since you’d started having them, was three fucking weeks early. You didn’t have any medicine besides a few pain killers meant for headaches, not dangerous cramps, and the cabin only had basics meant for allergies or a cold. You needed heat suppressants soon if you didn’t want to go into a full heat.
Which again, wasn’t an ideal situation since you didn’t have a flippin’ mate.
You could have tried to trek back to civilization through the winding dirt road but it’d taken two hours on the way in. Two hours of intense cramps? No way were you making that drive.
“Shit,” you said, walking slowly to the service room on the lower floor of the cabin where a radio at a table sat. Because of course you wanted to vacation somewhere without people, that meant no cell service either.
A rumble of cramps passed through you, warmth flaring your insides. You gritted your teeth and grabbed the radio, turning the frequency to the ranger station listed on the sheet on the table for emergencies.
“Hello, uh, forest service? I need help,” you said, closing your eyes as pain radiated up your spine. You frowned for a moment, the radio crackling. “Hello? I-”
“This is station 327, Ranger Winchester. What’s the emergency?” asked a strong, serious voice. You bit your bottom lip as you imagined he was an Alpha, your core quivering at the idea of getting a knot. “Mam? Please respond.”
“M-My heat’s early. It’s real bad and I have no medication. I-I’m in the Vrbo cabin off route 37, Mount Dusk I think it was called. I-”
“This line is for true emergencies. Your heat being a few days early and you being an unprepared Omega is not-”
“Listen asshole,” you snarled, gasping when your stomach threatened to curl in on itself. “It’s three fucking weeks early which everyone knows isn’t normal. I need a fucking heat kit, a strong one, or a fucking knot now and since I’m out here alone, all I got is your ass. So get me my shit and-FUCK!”
You dropped the radio as you bent over, falling to your knees. Something was wrong. Heat’s didn’t come on this fast, not even when you scented your true mate.
You could hear noise through the radio but your head was thrumming, your body grateful for the cold wood floor below you. It wasn’t possible to die from a heat, was it? If you let the fever go you supposed but it took days and days for that to happen and you’d only felt crappy for an hour. Yeah, you’d be just fine. This guy would bring you medicine and you’d be fine.
Right?
You blinked open your eyes when you heard glass break. Crap, you’d passed out for who knew how long. The overwhelming scent of Alpha hit you and despite the pain, you shot upright, staring at the man in the wet raincoat as he reached his hand through the broken pane and undid the lock. He froze when he saw you, his own scent shifting subtly. A hint of fear under the surface.
“Jesus,” he mumbled, raking his eyes over your sweat drenched body. He took off his backpack, pulling out a white box and a bottle of water, cautiously setting them on the ground and sliding them over to you.
“I look that bad, huh?” you said, ripping open the box and finding the medicine you needed, knocking it back with a swig of water.
“You’re in heat and I don’t want to be accused of doing shit I didn’t,” he said. You narrowed your eyes, hand fisting in your own shirt over your stomach. That shouldn’t have been happening still. Heat medication worked instantly. “What’s-”
You fell over again, clutching your abdomen, head spinning, body going haywire at his scent.
“Please,” you whispered, finding his hard eyes. “I’ll give you whatever you want. I-I need you to-”
“I can’t.” A wracked sob slipped past your lips as something in your broke, pain flooding every single cell. You just needed a knot and it would be bearable. He muttered to himself and quickly you were in strong arms, your own wrapping around him shakily. “I’m taking you to the hospital.”
“I’ll pay you,” you whispered, hating how that sounded but he simply carried you out in the pouring rain, the cold air helping your skin not feel so hot.
“I’m on Novi-Alpha. If I knotted you,, you’d fucking die so I’m sorry but I can’t help you like that even if I wanted to.”
“I’m gonna die from this fucking fever anyways!” you shouted as he opened the backdoor of a rugged looking jeep.
“One’s a chance, one’s a guarantee,” he said, setting you down, your arms still clinging to him. He eyed you, forcibly grabbing your wrists and pulling them away. “You will not die, understand me? Now let me get you to a hospital.”
You reached for him but he moved away too quickly, closing the door. He ducked into the cabin to retrieve his bag before he was behind the wheel.
“Honey Dusk Hospital is aware you’re in a dangerous heat,” he said, turning the jeep around and driving down the dirt road, way faster than you had.
“Don’t kill me in a fucking car accident on the way,” you groaned, squeezing your eyes shut.
“This vehicle is meant for these roads, unlike your car. We’ll be on route 37 in thirty minutes, at the hospital in forty five.” You threw your head back, his musky scent filling the small space.
“Distract me,” you breathed out. “Fuck you smell so good. If you weren’t on Novi-Alpha, I’d climb you like a fucking tree.”
“Whoa lady. Calm down-”
“Don’t lady me. We’re like the same fucking age.”
“You say fucking a lot, you realize.”
“You have your insides tearing apart and tell me you wouldn’t be cursing-” You shouted, bracing yourself against the door panel, feeling him step on the gas harder. “What the fuck is happening to me?”
“...I have an idea,” he said quietly. You flashed open your eyes, looking at his incredible scruff covered jawline, his gaze focused on the bumpy, wet road ahead.
“What? Are you a doctor? Are-”
“No. I only know my basic medical training.” He frowned, rounding a tight corner. “It’s probably not a heat and you’re just sick.”
“I know what a heat feels like thank you very much.” You shivered violently, the ranger sighing. “What’s your name?”
“Dean Winchester. Try to rest. We’ll be there soon.”
The ranger’s suggestion to rest had, shockingly, not worked. By the time you were speeding down this small town’s streets, you were shaking so hard you literally couldn’t stop. Dean had reached back more than once as he drove with a handheld thermometer, muttering a few f-bombs to himself.
At least he wasn’t the one with a hundred and five temperature. A hundred and five and a half to be exact. You were pretty sure your heat was about to boil the fuck out of you and kill you within the next hour.
Dean said something but you didn’t hear him over your screaming. The next thing you knew he was ripping open the door and running inside a hospital with you in his arms, nearly tripping into a stretcher where a team was waiting.
“She’s fucking dying,” he said as he set you down, the team of doctors and nurses rushing you into a side room.
“You said this heat came on suddenly?” he asked Dean, someone sticking a thermometer in your ear.
“106. She’s too hot,” called out the nurse, the doctor near Dean rushing over, the team suddenly pushing you out of the room and down the hall. You were shoved through a pair of double doors into a bathroom, a silver high walled tub in the corner.
“I got her,” said Dean, lifting you up and plunging you into an icy cold bath. You screamed as it burned your fiery skin, his hands on your shoulders forcing you to stay inside. “Look at me. Look at me.”
You couldn’t get the words out, taking in his green emerald eyes for the first time. His scent was still all around you, pine trees and vanilla beans, a cozy campfire and aged whiskey, fresh tobacco and soft linen. Your brain went fuzzy, blood pumping in your ears, thrumming in time with your heart. Was it getting slower? Your eyes were getting heavier, that was for sure.
But he smelled so pretty, so…homey. Rugged. Yours.
“We’re losing her!” someone shouted, just as one last image of his concerned face crossed your mind.
You felt strangely…blissed out when you woke. Satisfied, like you were after being on the receiving end of a knot but also relaxed and floaty, like when you finished a heat. It wasn’t exactly a problem your heat had passed but you remembered a whole lot of pain and a high fever which wasn’t normal.
So what the fuck had happened?
You stretched in bed and sat up, a doctor in a white coat stepping into the room with a smile.
“Y/N! Glad to see you awake. It’s been a few hours. How are you feeling?” he asked, gently taking your wrist and checking your pulse.
“Uh, pretty good actually. I take it my heat’s gone?” He hummed, raising your arm up, feeling under your armpit.
“Yes. There’s not many cases a year but some Omegas do unfortunately have a negative reaction.” The doctor put two fingers to your bonding gland on your neck, your eyes narrowing. Why would he be feeling that?
“What are you doing?” you asked as he pulled them back, glancing at a monitor.
“Just checking your bond is healing.” You stared at him, the doctor glancing down with a sigh. “You don’t remember, do you? What happened before you passed out in the tub?”
“I remember being dumped in ice cold water and a whole lot of people shouting but that’s it.”
“You didn’t pass out immediately. We determined while you were on the way here that your heat was triggered by the fact you came into contact with your true mate. Ordinarily, you would have picked up on this yourselves but your Alpha is on medication that has strong side effects. Namely, he was only vaguely aware of who you were through scent but there was no desire to mate as would be the norm. For you, unfortunately there is no recognition on a level that you’re aware of. You understandably would not know you went into heat early because of your true mate.”
You reached a hand up to your bonding gland, wide eyed when you felt…something. You flew out of bed, the doctor trying to stop you but you were quickly in the small bathroom, staring in the mirror.
“What the fuck is that!” you shouted. On your neck was a fresh, pink, bite mark. Someone had fucking claimed you. You angrily spun around, the doctor holding up his hands. “What kind of hospital is this! I’m suing the fuck out of you and this whole place!”
You caught a whiff of something…delectable, an Alpha’s scent somewhere close by. It calmed you, ever so briefly, the doctor sighing.
“The man that brought you in-”
“The ranger guy.”
“Yes he…well he…there’s no easy way to say this. He is your true mate. Ordinarily we would have used medication to mimic your true mate’s scent but seeing as he was there…when he was told he would be able to claim…” he said as you stalked out, eye twitching. “We were losing you and receiving a claim bite from your true mate was the fastest way to bring your fever down. In emergency situations, true mates are allowed to make medical choice for you if you’re unable-”
“He wasn’t my mate then,” you growled.
“Physically, no but on a metaphysical level, yes. Frankly, the health of my patient, you, is all I care about. We’d like to observe you a few more hours before discharging.” You crossed your arms, narrowing your eyes.
“So my heat is magically gone and some random dude hanging out in the hall is now my Alpha?”
“That’s the more blunt way of putting it. We’ll send home medication to suppress your urges to mate physically. Your Alpha will be unable to knot you until he has completed his Novi-Alpha prescription.”
“And when will that be?” you asked, tilting your head. The doctor frowned. “When?”
“...You don’t know what Novi-Alpha is prescribed for, do you. That is a discussion for you and your Alpha.” You wanted to argue but he lifted his chin. “Please let me finish my examination and determine if your heat had any consequences.”
Three hours later they finally let you leave, a white baggie in hand that held a bottle of pills you were to take once a week for the foreseeable future. There were well over a hundred inside which made you more than queasy.
What the fuck was Novi-Alpha and why did a guy that looked more than healthy need to be on it?
You frowned when you stepped outside under the covered front entrance, the ranger standing from where he sat on a bench.
“Hey,” he said quietly. “How are you feeling?”
“I didn’t give you permission to claim me.” His scent shifted, an edge to it you didn’t like. He narrowed his eyes, a frown growing on his otherwise handsome face. “Oh, don’t you start on that we’re true mates shit. You didn’t ask for my consent.”
“Excuse me but you were the one begging for it,” he quipped back. He took a few steps away like he was heading for the sidewalk, suddenly turning on a dime and getting in your face. He breathed heavily, clenching his jaw. “You don’t feel…this and I get that it’s my fault. I barely feel it myself. And I frankly don’t care about your consent. My mate was five minutes away from death.”
“Oh, I did not sign up for some toxic asshole,” you said, shaking your head. You took a step, Dean grabbing your wrist. He looked ready to snarl, lip curling up.
“True mates are never, ever bad mates. Stop hating me for saving you.”
“I don’t even fucking know you. This whole situation is your damn fault in the first place.” He twitched his eye, yanking on your arm so you stepped forward. “Get off, ass-”
“I am your Alpha and I’m taking you home,” he said, tugging you along after him, your feet cold on the wet ground, socks already soaked through.
“I’m not going anywhere with you,” you growled. Dean whipped around and in a second, you were tossed over his shoulder. “Dean! Put me down!”
“You’ll wear yourself out if you don’t calm down.” You growled, punching his back twice. You raised your fist again but felt dizzy, your hands instead gripping him tightly. “Did you listen to the doctors at all? You need to take it easy.”
“Just take me to my cabin,” you grumbled. He didn’t speak again, only grunted once when he opened the passenger door of his truck to slide you inside. You were too tired to deal with this crap. You’d go back to the cabin, sleep for a solid twelve hours and figure out this mate crap tomorrow.
The roads were unfamiliar as Dean drove in silence, winding and twisting as he drove away from town and off a small road. It was a gravel road unlike the one to your cabin but you perked up when you saw a cabin in a small clearing after only a few minutes.
“Uh, that’s not my cabin,” you said. Dean put the truck in park, turning it off. “I was out on Mount-”
“This is my house…our house,” he mumbled the last part. You shook your head at him, Dean rolling his eyes. “You need rest, not to sit in a car for hours. I’ll get your shit from that rental and bring it here. We’ll figure out the rest of your crap from wherever you’re from later.”
“Excuse me? We’re mates, as much as that appalls me. We make decisions like where to live together. I have a job, a life-”
“We live here. End of discussion,” he growled. His scent was raw, twitchy. There was no room for arguing. You were ready to fight back but you forced yourself to calm down. He was your true mate and as much as you hated to admit it, he had a point. True mates were never bad to one another. He wouldn’t harm you but good god was this guy protective.
You frowned when he held up a finger to you and got out. He threw up his hood, rain coming down harder. In a flash he was at your door, picking you up bridal style and rushing you over to a covered porch. He set you down to unlock the door, flipping a light switch before he stepped back. You walked past him, surprised to find the cabin quite spacious and modern.
He disappeared behind you, returning with your white paper bag, now wet. His boots were removed and you peeled off your soaked through socks, following him slowly as he went to the open kitchen area on the right. The bag was set down, Dean moving to his fridge and taking a few things out.
It was open concept, kitchen on the right, living room on the left, a dining table in the front by the windows. There was a hallway in the back and one off the kitchen, probably leading to bedrooms and a garage. A large fireplace was nestled in the corner of the living room and you saw Dean cross into your vision, going to it to toss in a few logs.
Honestly, it was nicer than your rental had been.
Once he had a fire going, he turned back to where you stood on the front rug, water dripping off of you. His lips pressed into a thin line, looking you up and down not like an Alpha would his Omega. No, he was being very clear.
You were the stray that’d followed him home he hadn’t wanted.
“I don’t have to be here,” you said when he approached, staring up at his dark eyes. “This isn’t normal. We’re supposed to be all over each other and clearly we’re not. We-”
“There’s a stew going on the stove. It’ll be ready in an hour. Just leave it alone.” He put a hand on the small of your back, walking you down to the back hall, motioning you to the last door on the left. He flipped on a light, cascading you into a cozy bedroom with soft white bedding and a dark green flannel blanket on top.
He cleared his throat and went to a closet, pulling out a few pieces including a t shirt, hoodie, sweatpants and pair of boxer briefs.
“You should warm up in the shower. Bathroom is right there. The laundry room is on the other side of the house, near the kitchen and garage. It’s coming down harder so it’ll take me a few hours to get to the rental and back here. You should-”
“Take it easy. Yeah, I got that.” He nodded, pausing at the bedroom door with his back to you.
“If it’s any consolation, I’m sorry this happened to you. You don’t deserve it.” You quirked your eyebrow up.
“You’re my Alpha. We’re soulmates. I guess this is supposed to happen.” He was still, the air thick. “I…listen I know I was…I wish I’d been aware of what I’d been saying but…”
He smelled tense, his hand in a tight fist by his side. What the fuck was up with this guy?
“Whether we like it or not, we’re mates,” you said gently. “When you get off that medicine, it’ll feel different-”
“I can never get off it and I can never knot you. You’ll never feel a damn thing for me.” Then he was gone, tearing down the hall and out the front door before you could even move.
An unpleasant shiver ran down your spine that he was right.
Your feet moved on autopilot to the bathroom, stripping out of the wet clothes and standing in front of the nicely tiled shower. In seconds you were under hot water, cascading down your back, through your hair. Fingers reached up to your neck, rubbing over your bond.
There were no sparks or flurry in your veins. You were supposed to be able to feel Dean, feel your connection, feel his soul.
But there was nothing. All you felt was empty.
You couldn’t feel the other part of your soul and he blamed himself.
“Fuck that,” you said, quickly finishing and getting dressed in the clothes aside from the sweatpants that were too long.
You found his computer in one of the spare bedrooms, stealing it along with a notepad and pen. Out in the kitchen, you settled into a seat at the island and drew a line down the middle of the pad. One side for information about Dean, the other Novi-Alpha.
With a quick stretch, you cracked open the laptop and got to work.
Three Hours Later
It was dark by the time headlights flashed through the front windows. The computer said it was just after six thirty and you knew you were about thirty seconds away from an argument. Ah, what a wonderful way to spend your first night with your Alpha.
Out of view you heard the door leading from the garage to the house crack open, wet boots against the tile in the mudroom.
“I’m back!” he called from around the corner. “We’ll unpack your stuff tomorrow. How was…”
Your eyes darted over to the hallway he exited from, his socked feet padding his footfalls on the woode floors that covered the rest of the house. He stared at where you had his laptop, a charger plugged into the side of the island, a stack of papers next to you, your notepad, pen, three different highlighters and a cup of coffee.
“Are…are you working?” He asked, face souring. “You should be resting. I thought you were here on vacation anyways.”
“I am and this isn’t work related.” He narrowed his eyes, not saying anything as he went to the sink on the other side of the island to wash up.
“Did you eat yet?” You shook your head, typing some more. A heavy sigh left him. He went to a cabinet, pulling out two large bowls. “You really should have eaten something. You nearly died this morning. Your school project can wait.”
“I’m not in college,” you said, jotting down a few more notes before you saved what you’d been working on and signed out of your account. You closed the screen, watching water trail down from his wet hair and soaking his shirt collar. “Why are you wet?”
“Because there’s a thunderstorm outside. It rains here most days,” he said dryly, giving you a side glare as he walked the two bowls of stew over to the kitchen table. You cocked your head at him as you got up, Dean quickly retrieving utensils. “What?”
“You parked in the garage just now and my cabin was far enough away that you’d be dry. Where’d you stop on the way back?” He slammed the drawer shut, eye twitching. “Strike a nerve?”
“I asked you to do one thing. One thing. Rest. And y-you’re writing a research paper or some crap? Sit down and eat your damn dinner.” You would have told him off but truth be told, you were starving a bit. You took your bowl and moved it to the seat across from his, Dean angrily setting down a spoon. A few moments later, a large glass of water was in front of you and he had a bottle of beer on his placemat. Dean sat with a loud thud, shoveling a large spoonful of food into his mouth.
“Why are you wet?” you asked again, crossing your arms.
“Why does it matter? Fucking eat.” You leaned back, Dean dropping his spoon in the bowl. “Really? This is how it’s gonna be? I’ve been nothing but nice-”
“If this is you nice then I’d hate to see you mean.” You raised your chin, picking up the spoon. “I’ve always heard alpha’s protective instincts are unmatched. You can barely feel whatever this bond is and you’re so worked up-”
“I almost watched you die today.” You closed your eyes and sighed. A small noise made you open your eyes, Dean sliding a small white box over to you. You frowned, lips parting when you saw the newest iPhone inside. “I got you a phone on the account your other one was in your pocket when you took your artic dip. I rushed to the store before they closed. That is why I’m wet. I’d never want you to feel like you’re trapped here, especially when you can’t feel our ‘whatever bond.’”
“Thank you,” you said quietly. You ate in silence, the only sounds coming from the rain on the roof, the clanking of spoons and the quiet thrum of a soft rock station in the living room.
He seemed…stressed. Maybe you should wait for the morning to bring up what you’d found.
But you didn’t get the chance when he picked up and glanced at your notepad. Green eyes scanned over the pages before he gathered up everything you’d been working on.
And tossed it straight into the fireplace.
“Hey!” you shouted, rushing over as he stopped you in your tracks. He leered down, eyes dark. “That was-”
“You will delete everything you saved on that computer. Now.”
“You can’t-” He gripped your arm tight, so hard he was shaking it.
“Do it or I will make your life hell.” He released you, spinning you around towards the computer. You didn’t believe he’d hurt you. True mates were incapable of it. But you didn’t want to tempt him anymore than you already had.
Ten minutes later, your backup was gone and after a through examination by Dean, he took the computer and tossed it into the fireplace as well.
“I know you have questions,” he said quietly, back to you as the flames danced around the melting device. “I never should have gone hiking this morning. You caught my scent in the wind and-”
“Why would you go hiking in the pouring rain? It was raining this morning too. I had my coffee under the covered porch but it was coming down like bullets. No one would be out there willingly.” He turned and faced you, eyes roaming over your body, stuck on how his boxer briefs molded to your legs.
“In another life, we could have been happy. I would have given you everything you asked for. But not this one. I will keep you safe but that is all we are. We don’t get our happy ever after until we’re both dead.”
You swallowed, stepping into the living room, stopping a few feet away. “You hurt my arm just now.”
“I know,” he said, closing his eyes. “I’m sorry. It won’t happen again as long as you don’t do stupid things.”
You were getting angry again, Dean holding up his hands. “Stupid shit like try to know my new Alpha who just left me all alone? Sorry for trying to look up your damn social media. Asshole.”
Dean dropped his hands and went back to the fireplace, poking the computer with a poker, shaking his head.
“The more in the dark you are-”
“I’m a corporate forensic analyst, Dean,” you said, Dean’s shoulders stiffening. “Those notes on the computer? In that pad? Those articles? You can burn them all but it’s in my head. I don’t need the internet anymore to figure out what’s going on.”
“And what does your analysis tell you?” he grit out.
“Novi-Alpha is a cancer medication specifically for Alphas. But you don’t have it and never have. So why would an otherwise healthy Alpha take it? Well, it apparently has other uses that the public doesn’t know about…if you’re willing to live with the side effects. Side effects like knotting becoming a deadly activity to the person on the receiving end. The inability to feel your mate. Scent changes. And my personal favorite, if taken without the binding agent that’s given for cancer treatment, it changes your DNA coding without changing your DNA. Apparently law enforcement doesn’t want that news to get out there because it’s a bitch to catch people if they find out they can change their DNA on tests.”
You grabbed his arm and made him face you, a loud crack of thunder echoing in the room. Dean breathed calmly, eyes finding yours.
“Why are you taking medicine to change your DNA?”
“Because I did something bad, Y/N.” He got closer, pressing his chest to yours, forcing you to tilt your head. “I’m sorry.”
“For what?”
Fingers brushed over your cheek, thumb swiping over the curve of it slowly. “Because your true mate is a monster. And once you know the truth, you’ll want to run away…and I don’t think I’m strong enough to let you go.”
The air was thick with his scent, dark yet pleasant. Painful even. You leaned into his touch, Dean’s green eyes widening ever so slightly.
“Novi-Alpha prevents Omegas from feeling their true mate. But I know you feel me.” You closed your eyes, breathing him in. “You have to tell me the truth eventually.”
“No I don’t,” he whispered.
“You’ll tell me,” you said, opening your eyes, Dean’s hand sliding down to your mark. “Because I’m in danger if you don’t.”
He shook his head, pulling away from you. “Don’t pull that crap, Y/N. You’re safer not knowing.”
“Right. That’s why you burned everything just now.” He looked up, like someone else would magically tell him what to do. “You need to protect me. It’s your job. So you have to tell me the truth, Alpha. You have to.”
He laughed quietly, running a hand through his damp hair. “Using my title to get what you want. Manipulative. Maybe you were meant for me.”
“Dean-”
“The Ranger.” You raised your eyebrows at him, Dean wandering to the dark window.
“Uh, what? This is because you’re a forest ranger?” He laughed again, crossing his arms.
“No. I do that because…it’s a pretty isolated job. Small town work.” He looked to his right, a sad smile on his face. “The Ranger. That was my name when I had a different job.”
“That’s not a name…” you said, Dean shrugging. “What’d you do when you were The Ranger?”
He smirked, meeting your curious gaze. “Have you ever killed anyone?”
He slowly stalked back to you, tilting his head. He leaned in close, glancing at your lips. “N-No, can’t say I have.”
“Ever kill an animal?”
“I hit a squirrel with my car once. I cried all night for that.” Dean rested his forehead against yours, his scent rolling off of him in powerful waves. “D-Do you hunt animals?”
“No.” He brushed his lips to the shell of your ear, his pulse strangely calm. “Now people, that’s a different story.”

GWEN TOWERS
GWEN (Ground Wave Emergency Network) allows specific frequencies to be tailored to the geomagnetic-field strength in each area, allowing the magnetic field to be altered.
They are connected to HAARP, smart meters, cell phones, WIFI etc...
"GWEN (Ground Wave Emergency Network) transmitters, placed 200 miles apart across the USA, allow specific frequencies to be tailored to the geomagnetic-field strength in each area, allowing the magnetic field to be altered.
They operate in the VLF range, with transmissions between VLF 150 and 175 KHz. They also emit UHF waves of 225 – 400 MHz.
The VLF signals travel by waves that hug the ground rather than radiate into the atmosphere. A GWEN station transmits up to a 300-mile radius, the signal dropping off sharply over distance.
The entire GWEN system consists of, (depending on source of data), from 58 to an intended 300 transmitters, spread across the USA, each with a tower 299-500 ft high.
Three hundred (300) ft. of copper wire fans out in a spoke like fashion from the base of the underground system, interacting with the earth like a thin shelled conductor, radiating radio wave energy for very long distances through the ground.
The USA bathes in this magnetic field which rises to 500 ft, even going down to basements, so everyone is subject to mind control.
The whole artificial ground wave spreads out over USA like a web. It is easier to mind-control and hypnotize
people who are bathed in an artificial electromagnetic wave."

TL;DR: HNL was studying how to give human subjects electromagnetic, most specifically visible light based, powers in order to bend space-time for their needs.
I’m going to try and condense this as much as I can because considering electromagnetism as a major force in ST (pun intended) opens up so many potential areas of analysis that can only be a brief cover of without turning into multiple essays.
Let’s go over the electromagnetic spectrum:
Tumblr media
I hope you might already be recognizing some symbols we see often in Stranger Things, especially if you’ve been following the BTS and some location and set leaks from Season 5.
The electromagnetic spectrum encompasses the different frequencies of electromagnetic radiation - waves of energy that travel at the speed of light (and produce visible light to us at certain frequencies). You’ve probably heard of most of these, including cancer-causing gamma rays and x-rays, the visible light spectrum (the rainbow), microwaves, and radio waves.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In S5, we have the radio station as a main location for the characters. They’re also driving around in the radio station’s van, which has an image of a hawk emitting a rainbow (visible light radiation). Steve’s car also has a massive antenna on top of it. My first thoughts were that the team was trying to keep in contact with Max in hopes of her being able to hear them in her coma, considering she has a radio near her bedside. While that still may be a reason, I think the characters may have come to realize how important electromagnetic fields could be in their fight against Vecna (this where leader of the AV Club also focused on electromagnetic objects Scott Clarke may make his triumphant return).
Now to pivot onto why electromagnetism is so important to the lore of ST:
What the scientists in Hawkins Lab are likely studying is a way for human brains to produce or manipulate certain types of electromagnetic waves through telepathy. Most obviously this is seen by them having the kids try to manipulate and turn on a circle of light bulbs. Our brains actually already produce electromagnetic waves, but at a very slow frequency. The scientists are constantly measuring brain waves while conducting these experiments. We even get full shots of El’s brain waves during NINA, for example. We also see similar shots in S2 while Will is in the HNL.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You can also observe that the Hawkins National Laboratory has absolutely massive satellite dishes on it’s rooftop; ones that do not exist on the real life building but are added in post because they pose some sort of significance. Nudge, it’s because they are transmitting and receiving massive amounts of electromagnetic waves.
Tumblr media
Why are they studying electromagnetic waves then?
They are studying electromagnetic waves because they are a method in which time travel can theoretically be achieved - the focus of the Montauk Project in which Stranger Things is based on. The military likely is investigating time travel as another war tactic against Russia.
Let us take a look at the first chapter of the Montauk Project: Experiments in Time book (they are seriously plagiarizing the living hell out of this thing):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, did you catch the whole 'attaching a massive antenna on the hood of my car to pick up a secret signal' thing? That's suspiciously similar to the state of Steve's car! Anyway...
The story of Stranger Things starts chronologically, as does Montauk, with the disappearance of the USS Eldridge and Project Rainbow (named after the bending of the visible light spectrum). Brenner’s father was revealed to have captained the boat in TFS, which disappeared for 12 hours into Dimension X and when it came back, the crew was killed or driven mad (except for Brenner Sr). This inspires Brenner to continue onto the Nevada project, and eventually, Hawkins National Lab’s studies. The USS Eldridge / Philadelphia Project conspiracy from real life went as follows:
Tumblr media
They were studying electromagnetism, specifically the bending of light, to make objects invisible. This was only the first step in the experiments. Once Henry got involved and came back from his trip to Dimension X with powers, Brenner must have realized he could potentially use human subjects to manipulate electromagnetic fields themselves. Human subjects didn’t require machinery or set up and could bend space-time wherever they pleased, as long as they were able to learn the ability.
The more conspiratiorial side of Theoretical Physics proposes using circulating light beams to warp time-space, creating a wormhole in which one can literally walk through time. This is pop-science, likely not true but interesting for fiction purposes. This method of time travel being used is heavily implied due to the fact that the USS Eldridge was already able to disappear into another dimension by the bending of light.
Tumblr media
This is how it worked in the Montauk Project book (absolutely ridiculous how much they took from this honestly):
Tumblr media
My guess is that in the Stranger Things universe, they have not yet managed to time travel, only to create portals into this alien Dimension X. Previously, said portals were only made twice by highly advanced technological equipment. El demonstrated that she was able to open a portal all by herself - another step to achieving time travel with singular human subjects. Season five is when we will see the beginning of the time travel plot line, though it like in Montauk is likely already in a loop.
That’s where we get the name for the Rainbow Room, named after this Project Rainbow. The rainbow represents the full spectrum of visible light, and the goals of the project to bend said light into portals and eventually time travel wormholes.
Implications?:
-Well, first of all it seems very obvious by this point that we are going for a time travel plot line, and this is how it will be achieved.
-Will is heavily connected to light in general, the sun, and of course… the rainbow. He is also implied be the one involved in the time travel plot line. This will be very relevant going forward and deserves it’s own post. Potential funniness of defeating Vecna with the power of the rainbow afoot.
-Coma patients are known to have odd, barely detectable brain waves. The kids will be able to communicate with Max in her coma using the electromagnetic spectrum somehow, probably through the radio waves.
-On the farthest end of the spectrum, we have ionizing gamma ray radiation, which is known to cause cancer in humans. Expect Hopper’s daughter Sara to connect to this plot line (and perhaps Sam Owens’ dead son). There is a whole theory on this site already called radiationgate. I have not managed to look into it yet but I think they are probably onto something there. The original al pitch mentions the UD leakage into the real world causing cancer as well.

Reviving Tesla’s Dream: The Future of Wireless Power Transmission
Tumblr media
“My project was retarded by the laws of nature. The world was not prepared for it. It was too far ahead of time. But the same laws will prevail in the end and make it a triumphal success.” – Nikola Tesla
In the early days of radio technology, there was a crucial decision point that split wireless technology into two distinct paths. One path, pursued by Marconi and others, focused on electromagnetic wave transmission. The other path, championed by Nikola Tesla, aimed to minimize electromagnetic waves and use the Earth itself for energy transmission. While the world predominantly embraced the former, Tesla’s innovative approach was largely forgotten. Let’s explore Tesla’s lost art.
Tesla's wireless power transmission system, often known as his "Magnifying Transmitter," was a pioneering approach to sending electrical energy over long distances. Unlike today’s wireless technologies, which rely on electromagnetic waves, Tesla's design aimed to transmit energy through the earth, which he believed was more efficient.
Tumblr media
Tesla showcased his system’s potential during his 1899 experiments in Colorado Springs. He successfully transmitted energy through the ground, illuminating bulbs about a mile away from the transmitter. Tesla saw this as a matter of engineering: just as a machine that can throw a rock 5 feet can be engineered to throw it 1,000 feet, he believed his system could be adjusted to transmit power across any distance on Earth.
Modern wireless technologies, such as radio, Wi-Fi, and cellular networks, use electromagnetic waves that spread outward from a source. These waves lose strength according to the inverse square law, which means signal strength decreases with the square of the distance from the source. This energy loss is a significant limitation for long-distance communication and power transmission.
Tesla’s vision was quite different. He recognized that while electromagnetic waves were effective for communication, they were inefficient for transmitting large amounts of power. As he put it, “I only used low alternations, and I produced 90 percent in current energy and only 10 percent in electromagnetic waves, which are wasted.” Tesla aimed to minimize electromagnetic radiation, which he considered to be energy-draining. Instead, he focused on transmitting energy through the earth, which he believed was more efficient and recoverable.
Tumblr media
Tesla's system utilized a large coil known as the "Magnifying Transmitter," which generated a high-voltage, low-frequency current. This design featured significant self-inductance and minimal capacitance, producing a strong resonant effect. By accumulating and directing massive amounts of energy with minimal losses, Tesla aimed for efficient power transmission. As he explained, “I accumulate in that circuit a tremendous energy... I prefer to reduce those waves in quantity and pass a current into the earth, because electromagnetic wave energy is not recoverable while the earth current is entirely recoverable, being the energy stored in an elastic system.”
The scientific principles of Tesla's system include:
1. Resonant Circuits: Tesla's system used resonant circuits, tuning the primary and secondary coils to the same frequency. This resonance allowed for efficient energy transfer between coils, amplifying energy while minimizing losses.
2. Self-Inductance: A key component of Tesla’s system was self-inductance. A large coil with high self-inductance generated a strong magnetic field essential for creating high-voltage, low-frequency current. Self-inductance helped store energy in the coil’s magnetic field, critical for high power levels.
3. Capacitance: Tesla’s design involved large capacitors to store electrical energy. Capacitance was kept small compared to self-inductance to achieve desired resonant effects. The capacitors would discharge rapidly, creating high-voltage pulses for transmission through the earth.
To construct a system similar to Tesla’s, he advised:
1. Low Frequency, High Voltage Design: Build a large Tesla coil to generate high voltages at low frequencies. Ensure the design minimizes electromagnetic radiation and focuses on efficient energy transfer into the ground.
2. Loose Coupling for Resonance: Use loose coupling between the primary and secondary coils to achieve significant resonant rise. The coils should be inductively linked but not too close to avoid direct energy transfer.
3. Earth Connection: Establish a deep, effective ground connection to allow the transmitter to send electrical currents into the earth, utilizing its natural conductive properties.
4. Minimizing Radiation: Design the system to suppress electromagnetic radiation, aiming to retain energy within the circuit and direct it into the ground. Tune the system to maximize energy storage and transfer.
5. Energy Storage and Discharge: Incorporate large capacitors for storing and rapidly discharging energy to create high-voltage, low-frequency oscillations.
Tumblr media
Tesla’s system faced significant challenges, including the need for large, expensive equipment. In 1914, he estimated the cost of his "Magnifying Transmitter" at $450,000—around $15 million today. These financial constraints prevented him from fully realizing his dream and unfortunately led to his public image as a mad scientist with unrealistic future visions. However, the potential applications of his system are vast, from global wireless power transmission to reducing infrastructure costs and powering remote areas. With ongoing advancements in technology, Tesla’s vision may be within reach.
Tesla’s system presents an alternative approach to wireless energy transmission, focusing on efficiency and long-distance power transfer over the broad dispersal of electromagnetic waves. While modern technologies have advanced in different ways, Tesla’s principles—especially his focus on resonant circuits and earth currents—provide valuable insights into alternative methods of energy transmission. Exploring these principles today could lead to innovative applications, such as more efficient long-distance power transmission or new energy transfer methods.

hello! i've got some GROUNDBREAKING space news for you!
scientists have uncovered evidence for a gravitational wave background (GWB) in our universe, and the way they went about it is fascinating.
To fully understand what's going on here, we need to go into a bit of background information.
First of all: what are gravitational waves? gravitational waves are often called 'ripples' in spacetime, often caused by extremely energetic processes such as black holes colliding, or two neutron stars orbiting each other closely.
So, how did scientists figure this out? They used 67 pulsars (known as the Pulsar Timing Array) throughout the Milky Way, practically creating a galaxy-sized telescope in order to study this.
Pulsars are the extremely dense cores of massive stars, left over after they go supernova. These are fascinating on their own, but for this project, they had an essential feature: Pulsars rapidly rotate (think up to hundreds of rotations per second), spewing radiation out in pulses from their magnetic poles. For some pulsars, these radiation jets cross Earth's line of sight, and we get incredibly constant bursts of radio signals, which can be catalogued and used as a sort of standard, universal clock.
Here is a link to a gif showing the rotation of a pulsar. Please be warned for flashing and eyestrain.
For 15 years, a team of astronomers working for the North American Nanohertz Observatory for Gravitational Waves (NANOGrav), used radio telescopes around the globe to track minuscule changes in the signal patterns from pulsars. The changes they found are due to the slight movement of spacetime between us and the pulsars, stretching and compressing the paths of their radio waves as extremely low frequency gravitational waves pass through the universe (yes, that includes you. your atoms, as well as the atoms making up everything around you, are very slowly shifting position, dancing along to the heartbeat of the universe).
Tumblr media
At the moment, scientists are still debating what could have caused this gravitational wave background, but some there are some leading theories: the GWB could be caused by trillions of binary black hole systems (black holes orbiting each other) throughout the universe. It could also be due to cosmic inflation, or even the big bang itself. Scientists just don't know yet, but the opportunities this discovery opens up are incredible.
The knowledge of the GWB could help us better understand the formation of early galaxies, or even help us understand the origin of the universe.

Bit rambly but y'all the best for this.
So I've seen some mention on how Alastor has some short of control over cell, internet and television and not just radio.
Now they all run off of E-M(electromagnetic) frequency though wifi is the only one that doesn't use radio waves specifically. So on the off chance that Alastor controls not just the radio waves but also the em frequency as well could mean a lot of things.
Such as listing in on your personal thoughts and possibly broadcast directly to you though your mind. This is due to brain waves emitting E-M frequency although very weak they're still able to be picked up outside of the skull.
Now in order for Alastor to broadcast directly into ones mind he's gonna need to have a strong transmitter right? But yet none of his towers have a transmitter on the outside nor the inside, the only thing we see is a receiver tower. Though the rebuilt hotel seemly doesn't have a mast/tower.
Which leads to the conclusion that Alastor himself is an organic transmitter and receiver which would make sense, since the only receiver we see is the satellite dish atop the vee tower.
So in conclusion due to Alastor being both a transmitter and a overlord of who knows what power level, he would be able to make a connection just to broadcast a bass boosted metal pipe falling directly into your mind when most inconvenient. That you'd might just think it was an auditory hallucination.
Also radio waves are a type of electromagnetic radiation that can penetrate 10-30 centimeters into the body.
So what does that mean for the hotel residents aside from like radiation poisoning? Who knows.

Yay - I get to share my love for tidbit Hazbin lore while sharing knowledge that makes me look like a millennial boomer XD Ahem... Alastor, our favorite overlord, for all intents and purposes, is a fucking elemental. His abilities are absolutely terrifying from a scientific standpoint. Okay, so remember how during the "Stayed Gone" number, Vox starts glitching out and "loses his signal" - then the Pride ring subsequently has a blackout? That is entirely Alastor's (or whatever-the-fuck-is-benefactoring-him's) doing. A powerful enough radio signal can do that. No horseshoe magnet required. IRL real shiz. Despite being digital enough to render a bluescreen while compromised, Vox might still have older hardware from his former days as a rabbit-eared, extra-thick thick cathode-ray tube.
Tumblr media
And Alastor is our radio demon. Keep this in mind. IRL, once upon a time during the 1940s - before digital television - there was no "Channel 1". That's because in the US, a very long time ago, both radio and TV shared the band that we call "Channel One":
"Until 1948, Land Mobile Radio and television broadcasters shared the same frequencies, which caused interference. This shared allocation was eventually found to be unworkable, so the FCC reallocated the Channel 1 frequencies for public safety and land mobile use and assigned TV channels 2–13 exclusively to broadcasters. Aside from the shared frequency issue, this part of the VHF band was (and to some extent still is) prone to higher levels of radio-frequency interference (RFI) than even Channel 2 (System M)." (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Channel_1_(North_American_TV))
Then for a short stint, Channel One was exclusively reserved for radio:
Channel 1 was allocated at 44–50 MHz between 1937 and 1940. Visual and aural carrier frequencies within the channel fluctuated with changes in overall TV broadcast standards prior to the establishment of permanent standards by the National Television Systems Committee. In 1940, the FCC reassigned 42–50 MHz to the FM broadcast band. Television's channel 1 frequency range was moved to 50–56 MHz. Experimental television stations in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles were affected. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Channel_1_(North_American_TV))
Every local TV channel and radio station has a frequency range on the electromagnetic spectrum. For those who still listen to radio on non-internet-reliant radios devices, those funny little numbers next to a station's name are a ballpark number for the frequency the station broadcasts in the Hertz unit. A Hertz (Hz) is one wave per second. A KiloHertz (KHz) is 1,000 waves per second. A GigaHertz (GHz) is 1 billion waves per second. Modern AM radio stations are 535-1605 kHz Modern FM radio stations are 88-108 MHz   TV VHF Channels 2 thru 13 are 54-216 MHz TV UHF Channels 14 thru 36 are 470-608 MHz And no, that's not a discrepancy between VHF and FM radio: the frequencies designated for FM radio are nestled right in there with TV ones - between Channels 6 and 7.
Tumblr media
(chart from http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/Audio/radio.html) Even today, radio and TV are slightly shuffled in there in regards to designated frequencies. This implies that depending on Alastor's band of preference, if Vox still has some of his older hardware, Vox could, in his sleep, theoretically be able to hear Alastor's broadcasts of screaming victims without a physical radio nearby. IRL in fact, in older televisions where a knob is used to change channels, much of the static you'd hear in-between channels is actually background radiation from deep space - along with any radio interference from man-made sources nearby. No wonder Vox is obsessed with Alastor. Alastor can torment him in an in-between realm-channel daily, like Freddy Kruger.
Tumblr media
Yet, if radio signals were only a Vox problem, why did nearly every light and electronic device go out in the Pride except the emergency lights at the Heaven embassy?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It might depend on how we define the word "radio". Is it radio, as in "those radio stations we can listen to without the internet"? Maybe radio, as in "any frequency utilized in modern communications, including TV and Radio"? Or is it radio, as in "almost any signal on the electromagnetic spectrum with a frequency lower than friggin' heat?" People, below is an IRL over-simplified chart of the electromagnetic spectrum and its usages by human.
Tumblr media
When radio is defined as a specific part of the electromagnetic spectrum, it is basically any frequency below infrared. *** Cellphone service and WiFi use radio signals within this range. Most cellular services are between 600 MHz and 39 GHz WiFi routers are about 2.4-5 GHz (6 GHz in newer models)  That's where the "G" in "4G" and "5G" come from - the "G" stands for "Gigahertz" Radio, local television, cellphone service, WiFi, and basically any point in the internet that isn't linked by a landline - these are all safely within the part of the electromagnetic spectrum that the scientists would call "radio". If Hell's technology is supposed to mirror the real world, then most electronic devices need radio frequencies in order to communicate. The VVV's empire is truly fucked, should Alastor so choose. The only plot hole in this explanation I see is why all the lights went out. These devices don't run on radio - they communicate using it. My best-educated guess is that the on/off switch for Hell's power grid is on an open network and at least part of it wireless. Or maybe Alastor's radio attack works like a general EMP and he can just break stuff by "brute force". (I am not an expert on these sorts of things like telecommunication... or network security... or physics.... I politely ask that someone in the comments, please enlighten me U.U ) ------------------------------------- Also, notice that Alastor's Tower, Cannibal Town and the Heaven Embassy were the only regions with lights on during the blackout.
Tumblr media
is that...?
Tumblr media
Cannibal Town?
Tumblr media
If this is, in fact, Cannibal Town, then my only guess is that the Cannibals are so hipster, many of them only light their homes and businesses with candlelight and leviathan whale oil. Neither candlelight nor oil-burning rely on wifi. Only some of their region's light was lost in the blackout. They might use some electricity (as many during the Victorian era did, which Cannibal Town seems to be inspired by), but they don't fully rely upon electricity. This suggests that Alastors friendship with Rosie might be less of an organic friendship and more like a strategically slick alliance. Rosie's territory is one part of Pride that Alastor can't completely shut down (other than the Embassy). But, who knows?
Tumblr media
Alastor's derision of modern tech now seems to have more merit than just being "hipster", or avoiding leaving a digital footprint that Vox can manipulate, (the latter of which I once head-canoned before this epiphany). Alastor can literally just shut most of Hell's tech down. This might also suggest why Alastor is homies with Zestial - another known old-timey prick.
Tumblr media
Alastor makes alliances with demons he can't easily overpower with his abilities. This might seem self-contradictory to Alastor's seeming over-confidence in teasing Lucifer - until you realize he did this only after he learned angels could be killed during the Overlords' meeting. (And yes, I know what I wrote about Alastor a couple of tumbl notes back with the "popsicle" evaluation. I do not consider flip-flopping a moral issue if done so by epiphany. That note stays, because it's funny XD ) ----------------------- Another theory! Ok, so this theory isn't entirely my own-own, I'm just building off of it based on what I've just said (mostly Roo stuff). So IRL, scientists decided to take an image of the observable universe in the microwave range. Microwave energy is in the upper ends of radio, but just below infrared in frequency. What they found was cosmic background radiation - a lot of energy that isn't coming from the stars themselves.
Tumblr media
(Image source: https://www.space.com/33892-cosmic-microwave-background.html) Some scientists theorize this is because this particular energy is left over from the formation of the universe. So about Roo:
In the first non-pilot episode, The Story of Hell, as read by Charlie, states that the angels of pure light "worshipped good and shielded all from evil." During this line, imagery of two faces are shown before the angels: one face of light and another face of twisted red and black.
Tumblr media
Subsequent lines and imagery in the episode suggest that this "evil" existed before Lucifer fell or Eve allowed this evil to enter the world - even before the Earth was created. Some Tumblrs who have been in this fandom longer than I have may know of Roo, a character that appears in some of VivziePop's older works within the Hazbin/Hellaverse. Some of Roo's monikers include "The Root of All Evil" and the "Tree of Knowledge". I'm wondering if in the Hellaverse, the cosmic background radiation of the universe is a manifestation of Roo when she isn't bound to a tree. Could Alastor's radio powers come Roo, the background "dark" energy of the universe's birth? Did Alastor bite the apple the second third time for mankind? XD
------------------------------------------------- While researching for this paper, I learned that microwave ovens and 2G cell phones operate within the same frequencies at around 2 GHz. Apparently, the only reason cell phones don't cook our brains is because the wattage is too low. (I dunno what wattage means. I'm not a scientist.) But now, Alastors singing lines in S1E8 had me thinking: "The constraints of my deal surely have a back door  Once I figure out how to unclip my wings,  guess who will be pulling all the strings" Knowing what Alastor is capable of with radio, this has me wondering if Alastor's radio powers are coming from one source, all while be is being chained by another entity entirely. Someone might have gone out of their way to get Alastor into a contract - if only to keep him from literally baking the universe for his viewing pleasure... on a rotating glass plate.
Tumblr media
Being able to cook a soul in microwaves would require that they be at least partially made of water, however. Buuuut... I guess if there are working ACs in Hell, I really shouldn't read too much into it XD -------------
Do you think the mad scientists from Helluva Boss, Lyle Lipton and Loopty Goopty, ever chat over coffee about the abilities of the overlords based on casual observation?
Tumblr media
One day, Alastor's name comes up... ...and after four minutes of discussing facts over coffee, they're both just like "Nope"?
XD {END} *** Note: Googling "Electromagnetic Spectrum charts" will yield different results. Some charts will have different designations frequencies lower than radio, like Extremely Low Frequencies (ELF). I do not know whether this difference is a reflection of a newer categorization, or if most charts online are made for laymen such as myself. Most charts I saw years ago only designated "radio" as "everything below microwave". I want to assume that the "only radio below microwave" categorization went into the writer's designing of Alastor's character simply because such charts are more common (while also making for a more interesting power scaling).
______________ Disclaimer: I am composed of chauffeur knowledge. I know nearly nothing about communication science little about radiation stuff. I took an astronomy elective in college once, so I sorta knew where to look when it came to frequency stuff. I have no idea what the fuck I'm talking about. I know that I confused frequency and wavelength somewhere. Please, #sciencesideoftumblr feel free to correct me. ----------------- TLDR: Most tech IRL uses radio waves to communicate. That Includes TVs, WiFi and cell phones. Alastor can make the Pride Ring go kaploowee if he looks at it funny. I don't know what he's cooking.

EXPLAINING THE WSQK 94.5 FM SQUAWK
To begin with, we need to understand that each radio station has a four-letter code issued by the FCC (the government agency that regulates radio stations in the United States). Stations with W or K in their codes indicate whether the radio station is located east or west of the Mississippi River, while the other letters are chosen by the stations themselves.
Tumblr media
An example is WPTF (a real station), which serves as a reference for WSQK in the universe of st. The W indicates that it is east of the Mississippi River, and PTF was chosen by the station itself with the slogan "We Protect The Family."
Tumblr media
WSQK 94.5 FM SQUAWK
The radio station in st uses the same W and K pattern, indicating it is east of the Mississippi River, and the SQ stands for (SQUAWK).
We've already seen the WSQK van with its beautiful blue color and an image of an eagle emitting a rainbow from its beak (probably making a reference with light radiation). Also I would find it amazing if this mascote at the set were the radio station's mascot that the production has among them, referencing/joking about the WSQK eagle, obviously it’s not going to be a part of S5
Visible light is part of a different electromagnetic spectrum, sharing similar characteristics with radio waves but at higher frequencies.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The term SQUAWK comes from the sounds that birds use to communicate, which makes sense with the eagle illustrated on the van.
It would be as if the eagle were “shouting” radio waves, trying to convey the message that WSQK radio frequency is powerful

Hey, fun fact! You know the Boeing EA-18G Growler?
huh?
You know, the EA/18G, the dedicated electronic warfare version of the Boeing F/A-18 naval combat aircraft.
wha?
Okay, you know how the United States has a really big military? Well, it's so big that we have three separate fixed wing combat aviation forces: the United States Air Force, the United States Navy, and the United States Marines. Most countries have only one, because they're stinking un-airconditioned europoors, but we have three, because we're the best country in the world.
(The Marines? Yes! If they were their own country the Marines would have the fifth largest air force in the world. They have their own F-35 variant, the F-35B, which they operate off their own mini-carriers. And, again, the United States has more of those helicopter carriers than the rest of the world, combined.)
okay
Seriously, Italians don't even put ice in their water. And that's not the worst thing--
you were talking about airplanes
Oh yeah. Well, every air force has electronic warfare aircraft, planes that jam radar and communications signals. Remember the opening salvo of the Gulf War, where the US flew airstrikes against Bagdad, the most heavily defended city in the world, but effortlessly evaded Saddam's hopelessly outdated Soviet anti-air batteries using the F-117's stealth abilities? That flight of F-117s were accompanied by three EF-111A electronic warfare aircraft! Entirely conventional 70s-era airframes, but they waltzed through radar just as well as cutting-edge stealth. Nobody knows about this!
And I think this is by design. Electronic warfare is a peculiarly ephemeral form of combat. Radar jamming only works if you know the frequencies and periods of enemy equipment. It is beneficial to the United States to announce an insurmountable lead in stealth, an intrinsic, material property of an aircraft structure, and downplay EW, which can be defeated with a turn of the dial. Maintaining effective EW capabilities requires constant surveillance of of enemy radar systems and intimate knowledge of their internal workings. I think it is no coincidence that fully half of the satellites that the NRO launches aren't visible-light telescopes at all, but ELINT signals interception birds!
thats crazy
If you think that's crazy, just wait! You see those things hanging off the wings up there?
Tumblr media
uh huh
That's the AN/ALQ-99 EW pod. The Growler itself has some electronics, but most of the transmit power come from the the 99's. It originally entered service in 1972 with the EA-6B, a late sixties design. Early combat aircraft didn't exactly have a lot of spare electrical power, and each 99 can radiate up to 10.8 kilowatts of radio. Where does the power come from?
The propeller at the front. It's a ram air turbine.
Tumblr media
what the fuck
The Growler can carry up to five of them at once! Wikipedia notes it "reduc[es] the Growler's top speed." Yeah, no shit! You're shoving a damn windmill through the sky!

Astronomers watched 35 explosive outbursts from a rare repeating "fast radio burst" (FRB) as it shifted in frequency like a "cosmic slide whistle," blinking in a puzzling pattern never seen before. FRBs are millisecond-long flashes of light from beyond the Milky Way that are capable of producing as much energy in a few seconds as the sun does in a year. FRBs are believed to come from powerful objects like neutron stars with intense magnetic fields  —  also called magnetars  —  or from cataclysmic events like stellar collisions or the collapse of neutron stars to form black holes. Complicating the FRB picture, a few FRBs are "repeaters" that flash from the same spot in the sky more than once, while the majority burst once and then vanish.

“Who has eyes on the target? He can’t get away.” you said firmly, earpiece crackling as blood pooled in the crevices. “I do. Execute?” Clint’s voice muttered, clearly aimed at the target from on high. “Negative, Barton – it’s too risky, he’s loading the bio-weapon. He’ll have it rigged. This needs to be from eyes on the ground.” You ran towards the smoking block ahead. Thor’s hammer swung mercilessly beside you, bodies littered around your feet with every step, leaking canisters of home-made explosives ready to blow.
You had been working on this lead for months. It needed to work. “I need all sub-team side B of the building, away from the target. A and C are clear. Barton has them covered.” “Yes Ma’am.” several voices confirmed.
An explosion rocked to your left, throwing Thor with a loud crunch against the wall. Dust stung your eyes, catching in your throat as you coughed through the haze, your fist meeting the face of an opportunistic opponent.
“Laufeyson, it’s on you. Execute the objective.” you commanded, pressing the earpiece in with a wince against your wounds.
“What about Thor? Looks like he took quite a tumble. Should I not tend to him?” Loki’s unperturbed voice rolled through the frequency. Even in the heat of battle, he was smirking, you could tell. “Laufeyson, take that son of a bitch down immediately.” you shouted, scanning the perimeter for any sign of the god getting on your last nerve. “Are you sure, Agent?” he goaded in your ear. He would already be on his way; covertly sneaking up on the vigilante scientist loading biological warfare onto a truck while his replaceable followers lay dying. But you weren’t in the mood for games. Not on your mission-leading debut. “That’s a direct order, Laufeyson.” you spat. “Follow it.” There was silence on the earpiece. A roar thundered from the side as a bloodied goon charged at you from behind an upended SUV. You ducked before stabbing him upwards in the soft flesh of his throat. “Understood, Madam.” Loki purred. His voice was lush velvet, the timbre vibrating through the nub nestled in your ear. Within seconds you heard a loud yell from the other side of the building, machine gun fire rattling fruitlessly at the sky. Screams followed, a loud crunch echoing across the dusty landscape as your secret lover followed your order with finesse.
Silence reigned as the team waited with bated breath. Thor stirred back to consciousness at your feet, blood trickling across his brow as a low hum radiated from the radio. “The day is yours, Madam.” Loki murmured calmly through the comms. –-- Morning light flooded the conference room as you shuffled papers at the podium, waiting for the chattering team to leave. The debrief had gone as expected, and Rogers seemed happy – that was the important thing after all, you thought; internally rolling your eyes. You cleared your throat as Thor and Loki hung back, discussing something animatedly in hushed tones at their seats. “Laufeyson, I need a word” you said, as Thor grinned. “In trouble with the boss, brother?” he winked, “my my, some things never change I suppose.”
“It’s just one mission, Thor, don’t get excited…” you muttered, heat rising in your cheeks as the blonde swaggered towards the door. “You say that now Y/N, but I have a feeling my brother and I will be taking orders from you again very soon, mark my words” he chuckled, throwing Loki a wave as he made his exit. Your eyes rose to where Loki sat, straight-backed with his hands clasped on the table. His smouldering gaze bore into you, the deep blues of his irises singing across the empty room. You cleared your throat again. “Do you have a problem with me leading missions, Loki? His lips curled in a smile before parting, releasing a dark chuckle as he shook his head. “No, darling. I most certainly do not.” Your hand edged to the side to push the door closed, the other grasping towards the pull of the blinds.
“Y/N…there are too many people. We must be sensible.” His words made you pause, turning back to face him. You strode to the table, watching his eyebrows rise as you leant forwards, palms flat on the cool wood. “I don’t want to fuck you, Loki…” you hissed, “I want to know why you were such an arse out there yesterday and what I’m going to do about it.” Your heart pounded as his gaze searched your face with amusement, every twitch of his lips making you more infuriated. He leant forward, forefinger curling across his chin as he fought to contain a smile. “I’m afraid that I may have discovered a vacant need within myself” he said quietly, sliding the finger thoughtfully across his lips. You frowned, folding your arms. He looked up at you with widened eyes, the resulting creases of his brow making him appear almost innocent. “Can I assume that our arrangements for tonight are still valid, given my insubordination?” Loki drew his lip between his teeth as he lifted an eyebrow subtly, testing your true level of annoyance. You nodded.
“Suffice to say I have no issue with you being in control, Y/N” he whispered as he stood. His fingers flickered, a tinge of seidr vibrating the air as he circled the table and kissed you deeply. Loki's warm tongue caressing yours was heaven after a week estranged from his bed by mission preparation, his touch hitting your bloodstream like liquor. Too soon, he withdrew; his concealing enchantment fading. “In fact, I wish to submit to you entirely, darling” he murmured, straightening a pen on the table below. “Entirely.” Your lips parted, questions staggering on the tip of your tongue. “Later, kitten.” he winked, before turning abruptly and striding from the room. ---
Loki’s parting words ran through your mind for the rest of the day. The corridor to his rooms stretched before you, heels clicking as you passed the familiar paintings and plants that adorned the hallway. Entirely, he’d said. Submit to you entirely. He had slipped a note in your hand a few hours ago. It explained everything in a few sentences. And it included a safeword; Rogers. You slipped behind his unlocked door, a wave of smooth jazz music playing softly through the speakers. “Loki?” you said quietly, finding your voice as nerves fluttered in your stomach. The cautious steps of your high heels softly scraped the wooden floors as he emerged from the bedroom. The warm flickering of a dozen candles danced teasingly across his chest, bouncing off every crevice of his chiselled abdomen as he leant seductively in the doorframe with a coy smile. A pair of grey jersey sweatpants hung low on his hips, the waistband clinging to the taunt skin. Soft lighting cast long shadows on the walls, illuminating his beautiful face in their aura. His cheekbones cut sharply in the contrast, those smouldering eyes observing you silently; waiting for you to speak. You cleared your throat, trying not to be overcome by your need to launch at his body and rollick him backwards to the bed. A week was a long time when you were used to covertly fucking Loki Laufeyson multiple times a day. His lips twitched in amusement. “Just remember, love...command me, as you did yesterday, and I think you will enjoy it. I know I will. Are you sure you’re happy to proceed?” A surge of adrenaline ignited inside you, bubbling to the surface as he noted the change in your eyes with a nod. “I give the orders around here, Laufeyson.” you said, enunciating every syllable. You made your way to the wing-back chair beside the curtains, sitting with your legs spread, forearms resting on your knees. The patent leather of your expensive heels glinted in the candlelight, the material of your combat suit clinging to your curves like paint. You watched his eyes roam up your body, mentally pulling down the zipper at your chest. “Take off the sweatpants.” you ordered, “slowly.”
His fingers flew to the waistband in preparation for a sharp tug. You shook your head, tutting. “I said slowly…” you murmured, raising an eyebrow. He obeyed, sliding the fabric over his hips at a glacial pace, exposing that deliciously toned body bit by bit as the soft material pooled around his ankles. His cock bounced upwards on its release, already hard as rock. “Come here.” you murmured. His bare feet paced the floor, standing in front of you so his engorged manhood was tauntingly close to your lips. It quivered against your warm breath, only inches away. “Kneel, Loki.” you said firmly, knowing exactly the effect your words would have. A crease formed momentarily across his brow as he considered them, his eyes glazing over with lust. You sighed in frustration, sliding yourself upright and crossing your legs. “Laufeyson. I said, kneel.” Loki sank to his knees, his gaze trialling upwards with silent adoration. Your eyes crawled across his naked form presented before you, thick thighs creating an inviting expanse where he rested on the balls of his feet. The god's fingers spread on his knees, biceps flexing gently as he re-adjusted his stance. The chiselled lines of his body flowed in perfect precision up his torso, wide shoulders bent forwards in submission. Raven hair that haunted your every waking fantasy fell around his jaw as he looked up at you with reverence. Ready to begin. “I am at your service, Madam.” Loki’s deep voice held no trace of mischief as he bowed his head, steady breaths making his shoulders rise and fall. “I like watching you touch yourself; I like seeing you so needy. Do that for me...” you murmured, “but no finishing until I tell you, yes?” Loki whispered his understanding as he slid his folded legs wider, edging his hips forward. That perfect cock never failed to make your mouth water. Long, thick and pale as moonlight with a pink flush; it was so undeniably him, you thought, as his fingers curled around the base. He raised his chin upwards, the longing in his eyes making you want to pounce on his lap. “May I?” A flicker of amusement laced the sincerity as he fought the urge to add an additional remark. You nodded. “Slowly, Loki...very slowly” you said, as you began to unzip the top of your combat suit.
Loki groaned at the sight as his fist slid up his cock, the skin pulling tantalisingly at the tip before he returned to the base. His hips thrust upwards as his body fought the tortuously slow movement. The grip tightening around his straining manhood as he milked every ounce of pleasure from his orders. You stood, unclasping the holster belt slung around your hips and letting it clatter to the floor. The metal buckle smacked harshly against the wood making your lover whimper. He loved that belt. Loki moaned longingly as you unzipped the remaining inches of the suit, beginning to strip it from your body as you paced a measured circle around him.
“Who is your commander?”
Your voice sounded strong. Every inch the leader you had felt yesterday with a team of Earth’s protectors hanging on your every word.
“You, Y/N.” Loki gasped, the effort of maintaining the deliberate, infuriating pace of his strokes making his muscles quiver. The hand not wrapped around his cock grasped for purchase on his thigh, fingernails digging into the taunt flesh. You leant down, tucking a strand of hair behind his ear as Loki’s breath hitched. “That’s not how you address me, soldier.” “You, Ma'am...M-Madam.” he spluttered, his eyes screwed shut. You paced to the front again, reclining back in the chair wearing only his favourite dark green lingerie and those sinful heels. Loki opened his eyes, the immediate gape of his mouth and accompanying slanted eyebrows betraying his utter unravelling. You placed one ankle delicately on his bare shoulder, widening your thighs. He exhaled loudly as he stroked himself, lips ghosting across your calf only millimetres away. “Will you allow me?” he panted, wetting his lips as your calf rubbed back and forth across his skin, his eyes resting ravenously between your open legs. “Do you want to touch me, Laufeyson? Do you want to bury your pretty face between my thighs? Your needy cock, perhaps?” you cooed, sliding your fingers into your silk panties. He whined through parted lips, his breaths shortening. “Do you want the privilege of worshipping my body?” You chuckled, watching a small spasm roll through him as he fought to contain himself. “I thought so. But you’ll have to prove your loyalty to me first. I’m not sure you’ve earned it, considering your disobedience yesterday.” You massaged your clit lightly beneath the silk, watching Loki’s brow furrow in desperation. His eyes fluttered shut as the knuckles on his right hand turned white, palming himself tightly in time with his staggered breaths. So slowly. “Stop.” you said, watching his fingers squeeze the column of flesh before reluctantly releasing. “Show me to the bedroom.” He rose on shaky legs, the long muscles of his thighs bulging on ascent. Loki’s lean torso unfurled, his hair flicking back over his bare shoulders making your pussy clench. He extended his hand, pulling you upwards gently so you stood inches apart. The urge to throw yourself against him was almost unbearable. Loki led you to the bedroom how you imagined he would escort a partner during an entrance to an Asgardian ball. The thought made you swell with love for him as he paused, eyes flickering nervously to the inviting mattress. “Hands and knees on the bed, Laufeyson.” you smouldered, casting a glance to the table set up to the side. Two items were laid in perfect alignment across a silken cloth, presented for your consideration. Leather, of course. A paddle. Your fingers reached for the second. Handcuffs. You flexed the thick leather cuffs in your hands, admiring the dark brown sheen as Loki arranged himself on the bed. He was kneeling, palms flat on the soft covers. Seeing your approach, he silently extended his wrists towards you, straightening his arms with his head bowed. You slipped on the cuffs, noticing his fingertips touch together like prayer before his eyes met yours. “Thank you, Madam.” he purred, as you pulled the binding tight. Loki hissed, lowering his head again. You ran your hands through his hair, forcing his head up with a sharp tug.
“Here’s how you will prove your loyalty to me, Laufeyson. You will take the punishment I deem appropriate; you will ensure I am satisfied. And then, I may forgive you for your...what did you call it? 'Insubordination'.” Loki murmured his approval, sliding his bound wrists down the mattress. His head slotted between his elbows, arms straight as his back slanted upwards; the perfect ass presented for absolution. “Mmmm, good boy” you praised, sliding your hand underneath his stomach and giving his straining cock a sharp pump. He gasped, groaning loudly on the exhale as your touch left as quickly as it had arrived. “Good boys are rewarded under my command, Laufeyson. But only when they prove worthy of receiving it.” You lifted the paddle, brushing the soft leather across your lips as you observed Loki positioned on the bed. He was glorious. His pale skin shimmered like pearl in the low light, the defined muscles of his back clenching and relaxing with every heavy breath. As you watched, he slid his thighs further apart, opening himself to your control. A mess of dark curls was all you could see of his head, toned arms encasing it as his fingers grasped at the bedsheets with anticipation. You would never tired of running your eyes over that tight ass, the firm flesh which relented under your needy fingertips pushing him deeper into your hot cunt. But not tonight. Loki whimpered as you trailed the side of the paddle down his spine. “Are you ready, soldier?” you muttered, coyly; knowing his answer. “Madam, please” came his muffled response. You struck him sharply, the stinging whoosh-thwack vibrating briefly in the air as it met his willing flesh. He thrust forward, a primal moan escaping him. “Again. Harder. Please.” he whined, fingers winding in the sheets below as his wrists pressed against the leather cuffs. You struck him, the moreish sound of the paddle against his taunt skin driving you feral. Again and again, you worked him. Every smack met with a jolting groan as you drove him to the edge beneath your control. You could feel rampant wetness sliding between your thighs, soaking through the gusset of your underwear. God, he was so fucking hot. Always so unbearably- whoosh-thwack - fucking hot. His cock hung at an angle, hovering as gravity willed it down from his raised hips. He was dripping. Beads of pre-cum were soaked in small circles on the sheets as his manhood fought to control its desire. Poor baby, you thought, smiling to yourself as you tapped the paddle on your thigh. “You did well, Laufeyson. I’m impressed.” you said firmly, smacking the leather a final time against your palm, making him wince. “Look at me, please.” Loki’s face rose from where it had been pressed into the mattress. His lips were parted, smeared with shameless drool brought forth from messy grunts of painful pleasure. His ass was stinging, bright patches of red beginning to fade as he knelt back on his heels, meeting your gaze cautiously. “Are you ready to satisfy your commander?” you purred, kicking off your heels. “Do you think you are worthy?” His eyes flickered upwards, ablaze with barely controlled lust as you stood in front of your bound lover. Loki’s eyebrows twitched apologetically, his lips forming words that didn’t come.
“You may speak.” you murmured, sliding the sides of your panties down as Loki’s jaw slackened. “I...I believe I am worthy, Madam. If that is your...your…” he swallowed as you crawled towards him on the bed, your breasts cupped perfectly in that sinful bra; your fingers curling around his thick cock, “...desire.” “It is.” you whispered in his ear, feeling him shudder as you straddled his wide lap; avoiding the straining cock begging for attention. “Lie back.” Loki obeyed, falling gracefully backwards on the bed as you slid your hands up his arms; willing them to rise. Your palms caressed his taunt biceps, running up to the wrists before quickly attaching his cuffs to the bedframe above his head. The god's breath hitched as you leant forward, pressing your cleavage gently against his muscled chest. You buried your face in his neck, inhaling the heavy scent that clung to his warm skin, his tousled curls. He released a loud moan as you slid your soaked pussy over his arousal, the hard length dragging tortuously between your folds. “Will you follow my orders, Laufeyson?” you keened, thrusting softly against the hardness pressed flush against his stomach. Loki released a needy growl, his widened thighs squirming against the bed.
"I will do anything you ask, a-anything, just p-please darling...Madam...fuck me, by all the gods I beg you...” “Pleasure me, Laufeyson. And restrain yourself until I say otherwise. Those are your orders.” You leveraged your hips above his desperate length, enjoying the sight of his neck straining forwards to catch a glimpse of his cock sinking inside your heat. “Fuuuuuck….” he moaned loudly, the guttural groan making you clench around his girth; producing another wave of pleasure tumbling from his throat. He tugged at the restraints, fingers grasping at air as he sought to dig them into your skin. Loki would usually be running his hands over your waist, gripping your ass, directing your pleasure, pushing you further on to his rigid arousal. But not tonight. Your lover's chin pressed to his chest as those kaleidoscope eyes seared into yours. You could feel him slide his feet closer to his body, thighs pressing against your back. “You are so beautiful, commander…” he murmured, brow creased in concentration as he tried not to blow his load, “it is my h-honour to uhhhh...s-service you, your obedient...obed-...Madam...fuck.” Loki thrust upward with his powerful hips. Even without hands to guide you, his legs balanced your body from behind as you took what you wanted. You rode him gently at first, a small mercy as he whimpered beneath your unrelenting pace. His stare ran hungrily over every inch of your body, uneven pants becoming louder in tune with your rising moans. With every drop of your hips his biceps flexed in desperation, the defined landscape of shoulder muscle rippling under the strain. “Gods...helvete... I’m going to...stop..stop, faen” he whined, thrashing against the binds. You cooed, slowing the gyrating of your hips. Leaning forwards, you bit the exposed curve of his bicep as his breaths staggered, his aborted orgasm ebbing. Your teeth grazed over the skin, sucking gently as he hissed beneath you. “Good boy…” you whispered, tracing your fingers through his fine armpit hair, appreciating the curve meeting his ribs, “You did well to tell me.”
Wandering lips made deep kisses against his neck, feeling the vibrations of tortured moans rumbling deep in his chest. His cock was still sheathed inside you, the grip of your channel maddeningly tight around his girth as you cruelly ground against his hips. Your clit pulled against his pelvis, searing bliss tugging at your core. “Tell me what you feel, Laufeyson...talk to me.” you keened, as his eyes flashed, lip twitching. “Madam, I c-confess am consumed with my need to s-serve only you...uhhhh..I will do anything, alt du spør om...you’re so tight...so hot, my g-goddess, have mercy... fuck.” Loki’s words were jumbled, an incoherent stream of tortured pleasure as he clambered against the rising tide. “Norns, you are... barely moving atop me and I find myself...I find..myself... helvete...det føles for jævla bra…I cannot-” While he muttered his submissions your head had fallen back, climax bubbling to the surface in your core, lost in the moment. A sharp tug of his restraints brought you back to his desperate gaze, “...I cannot-” He groaned as his head burrowed back against the pillow. The muscles of his neck bulged against the strain of denial as you ceased your measured thrusts. “My brave soldier, you’ve been so good for me. So obedient, haven’t you?” you murmured, as Loki let out a whine. He was used to edging himself to the thought of you when alone. But this? This was pushing him to the brink. “Once you have satisfied me, I promise...I’ll release you.” You drew a finger down the line of his cheekbone, his eyelids fluttering shut at the gentle touch. “Now make me cum around this cock like a good boy. And don’t you dare disobey me...” Your thighs squeezed his hips like horse and rider as you began to work him again. Slowly. Purposefully. The ridges of his insatiable length sizzled across every nerve inside your aching pussy. Loki wasn’t the only one who’d been denied their climax twice. You felt the coil in your belly tightening, high pitched moans flying from your lips as you steadied yourself against his chest. With a cry of his name, you tumbled over the edge, the familiar intense wave of ecstasy only he could bring shuddering through you as you clamped down. There was lustful malice in his eyes, a searing wall of visceral flame as he tugged harshly against the bedframe. The sight of you coming undone with his name of your lips was one he could never resist. You wondered if tonight would be any different. Loki threw his head back against the pillow, dark curls falling over his flushed face, jaw clenched in determination as he let out a guttural growl of frustration. Your breaths slowed as you lowered to his chest, sliding your palms down to grip the sides of his ass. You raised your hips, sliding up his cock, the sticky mess of your juices making a sinful pop as you released. “Madam, please…” he whimpered, tears forming in his eyes as you hovered agonisingly on the tip. The walls of your pussy clenched tightly, ready to deliver what was sure to be the final blow to his resolve. “Will you follow my orders?” you whispered, biting your lip. He pushed his jaw out slightly, his tongue sheathed behind his teeth as he fought to hold back barbed words.
“Yes, Madam...I will.” he managed to stutter between broken breaths, the end of his leaking manhood brushing teasingly at your entrance. “Then I command you to cum inside me, Laufeyson. Fill me. Loudly.” When the last syllable left your lips, you dropped down on his desperate cock, his renewed cry of pleasure thundering the air. Loki pulled his bound hands together against the bedframe. The veins in his thick forearms pulsing with pure need as he thrust up into you like an animal. Nordic curses flew from his lips you rode him, feeling every hit of his thick girth bottoming out. “Fuck...yesss…my queen, my q-queen...fuckkkk” Loki howled as he filled you with his overdue seed, waves of hot cum filling your channel as he finally found his release. The lines of his tight stomach muscles clenched beneath you, the effort of his restraint making his orgasm even more intense. Loki's face was twisted in pained pleasure, feeling the force of his climax running over him like a speeding train. His erratic thrusts slowed, the thighs pressed against your back shuddering and falling open as he went slack against the restraints. Strands of damp hair clung to his forehead, a thin sheen of sweat glimmering in the candlelight as he panted. Eyes closed. Moments passed before you reached to release his binds, gently rubbing his marked wrists. You cupped his jawline, fingers fitting perfectly into the angular edge as your lips met, his tongue slipping softly to caress yours. “Did you enjoy that, my love?” you murmured coyly, nestling into his chest as he drew you in tightly. Warm breath fanned your ear, his mischievous energy returning. Loki gave your earlobe a playful suck, before placing a kiss on the soft skin beneath. “Yes, Madam.” he purred.
