Color Guide for matching Festival Genes + Primal Eyes

Now i want to say this is not meant to be some definitive guide. These are just my attempts at matching colors as closely as i could find with what's available on the color wheel currently. Some of which were quite tricky to find a good match for (or is maybe not even the best use for the gene, looking at you Crystalline...). Will list the colors used for the scries above, but I'll also have some notes for some other similar matches or other color ideas. Overall, this was just a fun little project to work on as the genes released, and maybe some will find some use from it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Light: Sanddollar (Flaxen is a very close 2nd, if you want a very slight warmer color. Banana could also pass, but i find it a little too dark compared to the eyes)

Lightning: Robin (This one's tricky since the color IS the lightning rather than the outline, but Robin is bright enough to give the illusion of being white with a matching blue outline. Aqua is a close 2nd, but again is a little to dark in comparison)

Fire: Sunshine (Saffron if you want darker, more orange fire. Marigold if you want a lighter, more yellow fire. Sunshine is the middle ground of these two. All 3 of these match very closely, so up to your personal preference here)

Arcane: Bubblegum (Matching to the little runes. If you want to match to the eyes themselves, Orchid is the closest match without being too dark in color)

Plague: Vermilion (Berry if you want something less egregiously bright. But i do think Vermilion is technically a closer color match, tho both are very close. If you want a color flipped match, Chartreuse matches the colors pretty well, or Crocodile is you want a similar pallet but less bright (and also has a slight bit more red to it's accents). Bonus color: while it doesn't really match the eyes, Red has a very good Plague-y vibe, if you're a fan of the red+green aesthetic)

Earth: Pumpkin (This one has been the most difficult one to match with all the colors going on with both the eyes and genes. But it leads to a bunch of potential options that just kinda almost match. Ultimately tho there's not really a perfect match for these, just go by your own preference. Ginger matches close for a solid color match. For multi-toned picks, some other good options are Caramel, Peach, Ivory, Seafoam, and Cream. Sadly there's not really any colors that adds more pink secondary tones. (also as an added bonus for these: if you want to match with the geode currency used for the festival: teal, ultramarine, and splash are some good picks)

Ice: Eggplant (Indigo if you want just a very slight more saturation, but ultimately the two are nearly indistinguishable from each other. if you want some really dark blue ice in the same hue, Sapphire works well. If you want a lighter ice color: Sky, Periwinkle, Twilight, and Storm are the closest without going just full on white)

Shadow: Grape (Royal or Violet for a more subdued color, tho i find them a little too bright. The strong highlights on this gene make it tricky to match perfectly, especially when we don't have many darker purples as is. But at the same time, you really can't go too wrong with most of the purple range with this gene, it's just a matter of preference)

Wind: Peridot (Not much to say about this one. This color is incredibly spot on. I guess, if you want something a little darker, Pear matches the darker tips of the eyes)

Water: Cornflower (The whole Lapis-to-Sky range works here, for varying degrees of saturation and brightness, but i think overall Cornflower has the best balance out of all of them? (it looks the closest on adult dragons at least). Idk, this one's really tricky too xP And i am once again painfully reminded that we don't really have any good super vibrant colors in the sky blue range T___T All the closest colors are either too green or too faded. Also as a bonus option: If you want a foamy look, Ice and Pistachio work really well for this)

Nature: Orca (I initially thought Peridot would win this one, but then Orca came out of nowhere. Peridot's still another good option tho, the flowers are just a little more on the green side than the ones on the eyes (but they do match with the actual 'eye' part of the eyes). Also for a bonus color, Pearl also looks really nice paired with nature eyes, even tho it does have a lot of purple in the vines. the leaves and flowers still match really well. And as far as i can find, there's not really a good way to match the vines to the vines of the eyes, since that parts seems to stick to darker colors and browns)

Twilight soared higher and higher. The air was thin this high up, this far into the Northern Range of icy peaks surrounding Mount Everhoof. The icy winds brought stinging tears to her cheeks. Her alicorn lungs seared with every icy gulp of air. The frosty winds formed ice crystals on her cheeks. No mortal pegasus could even hope to survive in this frigid sky. Still, twin hearts pounding, she thrust ever-higher into the arctic sky.

She clasped the slumbering body of her Changeling Queen wife to her breast. She gently kissed her chitinous forehead with a glow of loving pride. She had been through a lot and deserved her rest.

Queen Twilight giggled like a filly, giddy with excitement.

She was still processing the day's events. It was almost too much for her to believe.

Prince Rutherford had sent word the night before. Several scouts had returned to Yakyakistan from the Northern Pass with news of a shocking discovery. Just shy of the Yaket Range, a group of Changeling drones had been spotted.

That far North, isolated as they were there was no other possibility. These were a few of "The Lost Children", drones who had survived the destruction of the hive during the exodus of Thorax and his mutant Lovebugs. Torn from the Hive Mind, alone and unprotected, somehow, they had managed to survive all this time.

Chrysalis had flown into a rage, insisting that she would leave immediately to bring her wayward offspring home. Twilight agreed and within a few hours and several dozen teleportation spells, they had managed to home in on their quarry's location.

The Queens had found them, nestled within a series of ice caves. a group of just over a dozen and a half Changelings. They were indeed survivors of "The Exodus".

For the last few years all they had known was desolation. Their Queen-Mother was gone, their home was destroyed and they were the last embers of a dead species.

Most of them were worker-class drones. As per protocol they had formed a makeshift authority structure around the hierarchy of specialists, two tunnelers, an infiltrations asset, one creche attendant and one royal guard.

After the Hive's destruction, Injured and half-starved, they had managed to rally together in the snowy hills surrounding The Crystal City. Most of them had been wounded so badly in the blast they were incapable of disguising their form well enough to hunt among ponies for the love energy to feed their vampiric hunger. Keeping a safe distance from Equestrian society, they'd stolen what love they could, portioning it out to the group as they fled further and further north.

Finally, scarred and starving, they had arrived here, as good a place as any for their species to die in peace.

As the two mares approached them, the blue eyes lit up as if they were meeting their gods. Haggard chitinous cheeks turned up for the first time in years. Fangs gleamed in starlight glowing smiles as a hundred-thousand wishes whispered desperately into the wind were finally answered. Their Queen-Mother had returned to save them and with her had come a strange lavender angel, a Pony-Mother, overflowing with adoration for their Queen.

Examining them, their injuries were heart-wrenching. As the teal eyes of their children looked to their mothers gleaming with faith Twilight had never felt so helpless. She struggled to choke back the tears welling in her throat.

Healing magic was, for all intents and purposes, impossible. Even for Twilight, the Element of Magic, herself, it was simply too complicated, too dangerous. She had extensively researched the mechanics, understood the structural procedure. It was a simple matter of cataloguing and rearranging the morphogenic field of the subject, reconstituting damaged and destroyed matter into a desired matrix by means of energy-synthesis theory conversion. In that respect it was not unlike any other transformation spell. The problem was that it required such attention to be paid on a cellular level, like casting a very precise transmutation of matter thousands of times, simultaneously, over and over again. An error at any point could have disastrous results. Even an extremely minor injury, a common papercut, would be FAR better handled with a simple bandage and a boo-boo kiss rather than risk the kind of nightmarish injury even an alicorn's attempt at magical healing would likely cause.

Any sorcerer who claimed to be able to wield such magic was a liar. Plain and simple, It just was not possible.

Not for a unicorn.

Not for an alicorn.

But for her wife, The Changeling Queen, an ancient being who had existed in The Hive Mind for several centuries, juggling the activities and steering the thoughts of hundreds of her drones simultaneously, day-in and day-out, such multi-layered, detail-focused thinking was…

She studied the sleeping face of her wife, biting her lip in excitement. With a soft magenta glow she brushed a stray wisp of Chrysalis's cobweb mane from between her eyes and gave her an excited nuzzle.

Chrysalis's magic was not like hers. Her power was derived from the love she consumed. The more she'd fed, the stronger the love and healthier her diet, the more power she could draw from.

It seemed that with enough love there really was nothing she couldn't do.

Twilight loved her wife.

She loved her very, VERY much.

And they were going to change the world together.

Introducing:

CASTAWAYTALE!

Synopsis:

Instead of being locked under a mountain, monsters were trapped on a faraway unknown volcanic island with a magic barrier reef around it. 

The monsters learned to adapt quickly and were able to harness the volcano’s power for electricity. Initially they built their homes out of the surrounding trees, but quickly learned that those would not work living near a volcano. They soon discovered that the shells from the sea snails living around the island were heat resistant and that when crushed up and mixed into a mortar, made houses resistant to high heats, including lava. Thus they started not only raising and breeding more of these snails but also building their houses out of mortar mixed with the shell powder.

The monsters lived off of what tropical fruits and vegetables they could find as well as local flora, fauna, and fish. The islanders a very fond of fish and sea food, which very bountiful around  the island. They also raise beautiful and rare sea snails as both pets and for the utilization of their shells when they grow to big for them. They were able to modify and cultivate a special bean that they use for a drink called Chaca. Just like coffee beans, it can be brewed into a drink and used as a source of energy. Unlike coffee, chaca energy lasts all day without side affects or a crash. They describe it as having a taste from caramel all the way to deep rich and bitter chocolate. The only known side affect is a natural pearlescent glow in the skin,fur/hair/feathers. 

Monsters on this island, are very tan and most feathers and fur range from caramel browns to dark blacks. All except the skeleton monsters, whose bones bleach from the sun and have a pearlescent sheen from the chaca drink. But the islanders are most known for their strikingly bright eye colors, that showcase their strong magic. They are amazing fishermen, swimmers, tropical farmers, and sailors

CHARACTERS:

Sans: girl-Hana- Older sister to Kai, but looks incredibly young and innocent. And she is….until she gets comfortable with you. Then she gets mischievous. She loves exploring and foraging for new an exciting plants and foods to try. In fact she is the one that helped genetically modify the Chaca bean from a frail plant that blossomed at random and had a low survival rate into the thriving crop that it is now. Special ability: Plant doctor: Hana can look at a sick plant an immediately know what is wrong with it and how to fix it. She has helped save dozens of crops from failing. She has spring green magic.

Papyrus: boy- Kai

Younger brother to Hana but acts more mature out of the two- but not by much. Kai is a sweet talker, who almost always works with his shirt off and ribs exposed- he’s hot and he knows it.  He loves the sea, sailing, fishing, and diving more than anything. Boy knows more about the different species of sea life and sea creatures than any other islander. He makes his living by crafting specialty fishing boats that are lava proof and can go toe to toe with any size catch without capsizing! Special ability: Heated hands; Kai can heat his hands from Luke warm to ripping hot in two seconds flat. A trait he inherited from his father, Teka. He has deep blue magic.

Gaster: Mother- Lea

Mother of Hana and Kai and Ex-partner of Teka. Though separated the two are still close friends and visit each other often. She is a skeleton monster with Teal colored magic. Lea taught her daughter everything she knows and holds the position as the royal plant cultivator. She domesticated several plants that the island community now depends on.

Grillby: Father- Teka

A magma fire elemental, he is the father of Kai and Hana and Ex-partner of Lea. Despite being a fire elemental, Teka actually has a calmer, more personable personality.  He owns and operates the local Sea Shack which serves up local drinks, local food, and is famous for his open air fish grill. All his food is provided to him by his son Kai, and is locally caught fresh everyday.

Asgore: Hakuma: Dusty black furred Goat monster. Devoted partner to Kona and Chief of the island community. He also was the creator of the island coast guard, lead by Jumana.

Toriel: Kona- Caramel furred Goat monster with beautiful lime green eyes. Devoted partner to Hakuma and Chief of the Island community. She oversees the upkeep of the island, including make sure that any damages to buildings or homes are taken care of quickly. The safety of her community is very important to her

Muffet: Nava- Runs and operates the local Chaca Cafe. The main star is of course the Chaca drink itself and it’s many iterations, but she also showcases local fruits in her drinks as well as her sweets that’s she serves. She is most famous for her Islander fruit parfait and Chaca coconut bowl.

Undyne: Jumana- coffee brown colored scales with patches of grey  on her hands legs and parts of her face- a fish version of vitiligo-with pearlescent sheen that all the islander monsters have. Vibrant purple magic. Jumana is the captain of the island coast guard

Alphus: Tima- In charge of and the inventor of the thermal energy generators that power the island from the volcano. She monitors the Volcano for any activity.

TLR Fashion Posts: Meredith Alagona

Here is another fashion post I wanted to make, this time focusing on Meredith! I have honestly been wanting to make one of these for her for a while too, since I always had a general idea of her style but never explored it that much, besides changing it when I updated her character a while ago. This was one was particularly a fun challenge to try and look up inspiration references for, and I hope you enjoy! :3

Meredith's style for a majority of her life was very classy and modest, not showing too much skin or drawing unwanted attention to herself. She dressed this way mainly because she had to under her mother's household and Mareas' culture, and for a long time she did not dare experiment with her style or dressing in ways that would have people making disapproving remarks of. Though, after she turned 18 and was given a little more freedom, she has been having fun exploring more of a relaxing, comfy and slightly revealing style. Has a lot of off-the-shoulder-style tops, ranging in length and sleeve-length, though she particularly likes cropped ones that can show off her navel piercing and lower-back tattoo. A few sleeve-less tops and short-shorts for warmer weather, flowy and baggy pants often in matching sets with her tops, more fitted pants when spending a fun night out, long flowing skirts that open up a little or have slits on the sides, shorter sarong-wrap skirts, strappy and revealing maxi-dresses, long cardigans, lace bralette tops, front-tie shirts, strappy halter tank-tops, short flowy sundresses, loose and comfy capris, and just basically anything that gives off a "fun day at the beach" aesthetic. She still dresses more conservatively when in council meetings or spending time with her family at home, but when she gets the chance to by herself or when out-and-about, she just likes to feel comfy and cute with her clothes. Has a decent-size shoe collection, which mostly consist of open-toe and sparkly silver wedges or short heels, but she does have an array of other sandals too for when going to the beach or just to wear casually around the palace.

For colors, she sticks mainly with a cool and neutral pallate. Blue makes up most of her clothes, with her preferring more lighter and pastel shades, but she does have a few pieces in dark blue. Also has a lot of pieces in silver or gray, with her preferring lighter, silver-gray or light bluish-gray shades. For other colors, she has some clothes in lighter turquoise, teal, or green-blue shades, and never anything in pure black or warmer hues. As white is the primary color for important royal events or other ceremonies in her kingdom(with secondary colors kept to a minimum and not the focus), she has a lot of pieces and formal gowns in that color, but in her casual wear she likes to keep it as only an accent color. As a royal, a lot of her clothes have been designed with and by the palace designers so they are of high-quality and material, but she enjoys going shopping for her clothes in her casual outfits, so a lot of them have been bought from stores around Aquarin as well. Most of her clothes are solid-color, but she does like stripes, oceans, or other beach-motifs for her casual clothes, and does like skirts and dresses that have ombre effects to them.

For accessories, she does tend to wear a few of them at once, but for the most part she will only add them on for royal or other formal events. They are all either plain silver or diamonds, but she does have quite a few with blue or turquoise gems. Long, drop necklaces, simple, dangly earrings often in a water droplet shape, simple silver bracelets, and rings, ranging from simple silver or diamond ones, but her engagement ring is a little more extravagant. Has a few ear piercings but usually wears simple diamond studs aside from her dangly earrings, but also likes dangly jewelry for her navel piercing. Usually has some sort of hair accessory on, which most of the time is water-drop tiaras, decorative and fancy hairbands, or one wide-brim sunhat for days at the boardwalk or beach. Some of her oldest accessories include black and brown tie bracelets or anklets, that she made with her brother Brooke when they were younger, done with blue and green beads and seashells that they collected at the beach during vacations.

For her hair, it is naturally wavy and very long, as she does like to have more of it to style. She wears it in a ponytail on a daily basis, but she will wear it down or in messy twin braids on her days off, and she does like styling it in fancy, braided updos for royal or formal events, sometimes styling her bangs back and out of her face depending on the occasion. She does also enjoy wearing makeup, but she keeps it light on a daily basis. Her usually look consists of mascara, light or pastel eyeshadows, and lip-gloss in light pink or red, but she will go for more fancy or glam looks for those royal/formal events. Enjoys having her nails done and loves going with her brother to the salon to get theirs done together, with her preferring to keep hers short and painted with bright blue shades or fun ocean designs. Not super big into wearing perfume, but she does have some fragrance mists in light, tropical scents.

What is a soul Blazeborn and where/how do they live?

A Warped Blazeborn is a blaze hybrid born in the Soul Samd Valley. They only are there if their pyre(family group) lives in a Valley’s Nether Fortress.

Soul Fire Blazeborn usually have blue flames like Warped Blazeborn’s. Their flames are possibly the hottest flames out of all Blazeborn. Their flames turn the color of normal flames when in a colder climate as they are more hot then other Blazeborn’s

They are more hostile than Warped Blazeborn but not as hostile as Crimson Blazeborn

They thrive on learning new ways to protect themselves from the others

They live in the Nether Fortress normally with their mob counterpart/cousin. Their fortress is the only place you can find them as they don’t leave it much due to the ghasts and skeletons that live in the valleys.

What Do Soul Fire Blazeborn’s Eat

Soul Fire Blazeborn mostly eat netherwart, and bones.

They get some food supplies from Warped and Crimson Blazeborn

Characteristics

Soul Fire Blazeborn like all Blazeborn have tails that have fluffy ends that is actually fire.

Their colors range from Teal to a light blue to blue and then to a electric blue color. Their colors would make a unknowing entity think they are Warped but they only are blue and not a normal red-yellow color scheme because of the soul sand

They have ears that look like a elves

Their height range is that of a normal player male in the Nether but if they leave and live in the Overworld their heigh is usually 8 ft to 12 ft

Their eyes are that of a normal player

Children Soul Fires Blazeborn’s have a fully fluffy tail. The fur sheds as they reach adulthood and is usually gone by mid to late teen years

Relation to Players and Origins

A Soul Blazeborn looks like your average player but like all hybrid players they have pointed ears and features that differentiate them.

Soul Fire Blazeborn’s also come from Blazeborn’s who descend from the Netherian God and have player ancestors much like all Blazeborn

They used to be more common in Astras but have since become a uncommon sight to see but are not as rare to see compared to Warped

Players had trouble with the flames so The Netherian God blessed them with the ability to withstand the flames. Their flames were the hottest of the flames given to the players

Eventually they started to gain characteristics of their environment and started to struggle as the animal life started to disappear

They mostly trade with Warped and Crimson Blazeborn

Then eventually the first Soul Fire Blazeborn came to be.

Many of the players where Avians and Felines. Their behavior is the only thing that has passed onto modern day Soul Fire Blazeborn as well as the other Blazeborn species

They are the ones trusted by the Royal Blazeborn family to be allowed near the kingdom as the kingdom is rather fragile after a certain ruler around 9 generations back

Life Span and What Hybirds they are similar to:

What is known is that Soul Fire Blazeborn have the Second longest life span out of the different species of Blazeborn. First being Warped

They are confirmed to live 7600 years at the oldest and 3000 at the youngest

They are similar to Avians and Felines with behavior. More feline like though.

Family/Pyre and Culture

Soul Fire Blazeborn’s live in family groups called Pyres which allBlazeborn live in

A Soul Fire Pyre has up to the few remaining from the first generation to the current generation

Due to how uncommon a Soul Sand Valley is there’s only one documented that has living Soul Fire Blazeborn

Soul Fire Blazeborn culture is very popular in the Nether. They usually have festivals twice or three times a year

Soul Fire Blazeborn are the one’s closest to the Royal Blazeborn’s.

Young Soul Fire Blazeborn are allowed to leave the fortress as they are trained to protect themselves when young

A Blazeling still has someone watching them but it’s at a distance.

A teenage Soul Blazeborn is known as a fledgling or a Soul Ember

Soul Ember’s are mostly in charge of gathering supplies and exploring until they reached adult hood

They also usually watch the Blazelings from afar along with their parents.

Are some of the teal alt costumes made with a different color vinyl? I’m not sure if it’s just lighting but the color seems like a deeper blue (closer to almost a royal blue) on Paisley and Nicole’s alt costumes.

Yes and no.

Holographic material can be made in two ways (actually many but lets condense things here) with diferent color undertones or same color undertones. This means that with changes in light and movement you will see different colors. In the first you will see completely different colors, in the second darker or lighter shades of the same one.

Six has indeed changed some of the vinyl colors towards deeper tones with less undertones. But you also need to remember that holo changes with lighting and that promo photos are heavily edited.

Take Paisley for example (and because her costume is the one people talk the most about in respect to this).

Her costume looks three different colors under different lighting. Promo photo has warm lighting and in the editing saturation and warmth were turned up so her costume looks blue with almost no teal. Onstage photo with what seems to be only white light and no editing looks dark teal. Backstage photo with fluorescent+white light looks like a brighter version of the usual teal. You can make this comparison between pretty much all teal costumes and you will get more blue in stage lighting and more teal in backstage or natural light.

As for the colors lets compare two. First row is Howard, left is from pre lockdown middle is current UK and right is current US. While on the old one there are undertones on a whole scale of pink purple and all the way to white the new UK one is almost entirely on simmilar pink shades (with a little bit of orange) and the new US one goes between pink and purple. In this case the color was indeed changed for darker, brighter tones.

Teal is slightly different. Left is Jen's, middle is Paisley and right is Nicole's. While on Jen's and Nicole's you can pick colors that range from dark blue to bright green, on Paisley's it is all blue, the greenest tone I could find was a greyish teal. However this doesn't mean the color was changed, it means it doesn't have the green undertone anymore. The top (principal) and bottom (midrange and dark) colors are roughly the same accross all three. And yes while lighting was not the same for all three photos the teal shade seems to be the same.

Some observations on color in Shang-Chi (*spoilers*): 

-The colors of Ta Lo are yellow and blue (like a teal specifically)-- everyone from the village is wearing one or both of these colors. 

-When the squad shows up, Shang-Chi is wearing a jacket that is yellow and blue. The shade of yellow is maybe a bit darker, and the blue is a different blue, but it still stands out that he matches the village. Right away we’ve got a signal that he belongs there. 

-Xialing, however, is NOT wearing yellow apart from a little gold/yellow accenting on her otherwise entirely black outfit. There’s a connection to the village, perhaps, but she doesn’t belong in the way that Shang-Chi does. 

-When it comes time for the battle, everyone in the village changes into red-- the color of the dragon scale weaponry. Everyone is wearing red. Everyone. Shang-Chi. Katy. Nan. Even Trevor. Except for Xialing. She’s wearing white. Shang-Chi instantly had an association with the village. The rest of the team comes to have that same association. But Xialing is kept separate. (Even in the training scenes, she’s separate. Katy trains with the archers. Shang-Chi trains with Nan. Xialing gets encouragement from Nan, but ends up training completely alone.) 

-Wenwu notably wears a lot of white. Not always. But he spends a good portion of the movie in a white shirt. When he’s not in white, it tends to be gray or black. Both Xialing and Shang-Chi have black on their battle outfits, unlike the Ta Lo villagers who are pretty much entirely red. Both children have some of their father in them, but where Shang-Chi also has a strong connection to their mother and her people, Xialing seems to be more firmly connected to Wenwu. 

-The Dragon itself is red and white, however, perfectly matching Xialing and Shang-Chi, the two who ride it and whose clothes are made from dragon scale (or at least patterned to look like dragon scale, I’m not sure which). 

-The use of colors shows Shang-Chi’s influence from his mother, and foreshadows Xialing taking after her father. 

Now let’s look at color symbolism related to Chinese culture (why each color is paired with each thing) but I’m pulling my information from Wikipedia so if someone knows more than me, feel free to correct me. 

- Blue/azure/green-- colors worn by Ta Lo villagers and people in Ta Lo-- are representative of prosperity and harmony, both characteristic of the village. 

-Yellow is a royal color and esteemed, but I think probably here the association is more that it “represents freedom from worldly cares” which fits well with Ta Lo’s sort of enlightened mythical utopia vibe.  It’s also symbolic of heroism, making it appropriate for Shang-Chi to wear it. The rings also glow more of a yellow color when Shang-Chi uses them, again associating it with them being turned toward heroism. 

-Black and white (Xialing and Wenwu’s colors) are both associated with death and mourning. These two as leaders of the Ten Rings are more trapped in their mourning and cause (or are going to cause) a lot of death. Ying Li is notably in white during her death scene. (Actually as an additional note, I think Ying Li also wears white during at least one other scene. And white can also mean like purity. So white could also be Xialing’s link to her mother, but while Shang-Chi is linked to her heroism and the harmony she brings, Xialing is more... purity that ends in mourning and tragedy.) 

-Red, from what I can tell, has a range of meanings. Happiness and good luck are two of them, but I don’t know that either applies here specifically, apart from it just being an overall positive color. It can also mean life and eternity, which fits with the dragon as the magical protector; this would also set it as the opposite of Wenwu’s black and white. Another meaning has it warding off evil, which works well with the dragon (and Shang-Chi himself) fighting against the evil behind the gate (and the gate itself being red).

Appearance

Diavolo is a proud dragon. He stands much taller than most in the Devildom. His large human figure stands at ten feet tall.

His skin is covered in dark maroon and gold scales, most of them centered around his face, chest, and legs. His legs resemble a dragon’s more than a human’s with three wide toes and long black talons.

He has a long prehensile tail as well tipped with a tuff of black fur and lined with large black plates sticking up dangerously.

His horns and teeth are long and fearsome, his fangs always manage to hang out of his mouth and his smile can be just as lovely as they are terrifying. His horns are always adored with gold accessories, usually in the shape of: golden skulls, torn wings, and blood red rubies.

In his True Form he stands taller then any building in the Devildom and with a wingspan capable of casting a whole city in darkness.

Diavolo’s build is much bulkier in this form, mostly seen around the jaw, and wings. His wings contain rougher and sharper scales and contain some of the black plates his tail has.

His Hoard and His Breath

Diavolo’s bed chamber also doubles as the Royal Treasury. Since his draconic nature craves hoarding wealth he has a need to sleep amongst the treasure.

Every morning he spends his first hour of awakening, sitting amongst the hoard, fiddling with gems and Grimm in his clawed hands, immersing himself in the candle lit room of wealth. Afterwards, he gets up to drink tea with breakfast while reading the R.A.D Newspaper.

He gets anxious and grumpy if he can’t be near his hoard for too long. Barbatos has to help make time in Diavolo’s schedule for Hoard Breaks.

Whenever he pleases, he’s able to breath massive plumes of black hot fire and streams of red lighting. Everything in its wide path is reduced to ash. It gets wider the angrier he gets, and it’s believed that if he truly was ever to get enraged, he could destroy the entire Devildom.

Spending Time with You

Diavolo is captivated with you to the point of obsession, needing you by his side at all times, though knows you need some freedom. Despite his instinctual anxiety of you having autonomy, he knows he could easily dispose of anything should it ever threaten his position with you. Anyone who makes you doubt him, or try to lure you to their side, he would make sure there is no trace of them left.

You are often given gifts, his form of courting you even if you’ve already tied the knot. Gifting you outfits and jewelry made from the finest gold and purest gems. He does this because he now considers you the center of his hoard, the paragon of his wealth, treasure and triumph. He wants to coat you in beautiful fine things.

He enjoys you touching the scaly parts of his body. It feels nice to have your soft warm skin on his cool scales. If you're not against it he’d enjoy you grooming him, it's relaxing.

He loves to have paintings of you made in different beautiful outfits in graceful poses amongst fantastical locations. He likes to sit with you as you pose for the artist and just talk. He adores this special time with you.

You’re the one in existence that has the right to join him in his hoard, and he thoroughly enjoys the time he spends with you in his hoard, which feels more complete with you amongst the jewels. If he had it his way, he would forget about everything except you and his treasures.

His Dark Tendencies

He has such a deep infatuation with you that he would do anything to have you. Though he doesn’t want to force the feeling onto you, instead he does it in secret, keeping up the perfect prince image for you as much as possible.

If he sees someone he deems a threat, he’d make sure they’re taken quietly and dealt with far away from you so there's no possibility you could ever see it.

Sometimes if they’ve made him angry, he’ll take the perpetrator to a private hunting ground so he can hunt them down and eat them himself, making sure not even the bones are left.

He had a wing built onto the castle just to house the thousand portraits he had made. He’s slowly overtime made it into a museum dedicated in all of your splendor. Glass encased objects of random things you had given to him, ranging from birthday presents to random cans of vending machine black tea.

He has stolen a few of your clothes, a uniform jacket or tie. He likes to fall asleep with your scent in his nose.

Diavolo doesn’t punish you at all, you can do no wrong in his eyes, only others can mislead you. He wants you yourself to fall in love with him, you have to learn by yourself how much of a perfect match you are.

Misc. Stuff

Despite being a Dragon with such fierce fire, Diavolo loves to fish in a sized down version of true form.

When he gets too excited his tail wags like a dog’s. He’s been known to have knocked over a few things with his tail when you or Lucifer came to a party or ball of his.

His eyes turn reptilian like in his humanoid form when he gets upset, or when he wakes up in the morning and is processing everything. It takes him a few moments of just staring at the ceiling to figure out he’s awake.

He has given the brothers a ride on his back as a dragon a few times, but sometimes he had flown a bit too fast making them fly off.

Barbatos

Appearance

His body is long and slender, reaching forty feet long. His scales are flat and smooth, black with a teal iridescence to them. If you look at them closely you can see a triangular pattern on his back in different shades of gray and black.

His tail however splits at the end perfectly in two symmetrical pieces.

His tongue is forked and long but he hides it well, however he does have teal coloration on the tip. Barbatos also has a few scale patches on his cheeks and just along his spine to his back hairline.

Barbatos has long perfectly trimmed claws that are sharp as a razor and grown out just far enough to start curving.

Being Cold Blood

Barbatos has to deal with the annoyance of being cold blooded, if he doesn’t heat himself in a nice warm place often enough he becomes lethargic; however no one has ever seen him resting let alone warming himself, people wonder how he always manages to be ten steps ahead of everyone while being cold blooded.

His secret is Diavolo, as he exudes a warm presence simply being near him provides enough heat to keep active for an entire day; and a pot of warm herbal tea to help jump-start his day.

He’s a type of Naga to use constriction against his prey, he has fangs but no actual venom. When he gets angry at the Little Ds you can find him constricting them and giving them a cold smile while scolding them.

Spending time with You

Barbatos just finds you so captivating and pure, he wants you in his arms. He wants to protect something so soft and warm, compared to him.

He loves to wrap his tail around you, around your waist, around your shoulders, he likes it even better if he can wrap it arounds your body completely just feeling the warmth of you on his skin.

He has a habit of spoiling you by bringing you everything you ask for. He always has breakfast in bed for you, he likes to bring you your clothes and always gets the chair or door for you.

He enjoys spending time in the garden with you, sharing a cup of tea and light pastries. Light rainy days are always his favorite just the sight of you in the green glow of the garden, the plump droplets catching the starlight above.

He likes to see you relaxed and happy, it makes his heart feel light and makes him proud to see how content you are. Sometimes he likes to lay with you and place fresh flowers around you and just admire you. He just loves looking at you.

His Dark Tendencies

He gets jealous fairly easily but he tries to not let it show in front of you. Just you smiling in front of someone else is enough to make his scales rise in anger.

He makes sure to find them and threaten them to stay away from you and says it while constricting them so much that they begin turning blue. All of his bottled up anger from everything that has happened, even events that don’t involve the victim, are being let out on them. Harshly and slowly.

He’ll very rarely punish you, if you go out of your way to escape from him he’ll make sure to chain you up and make you beg for him to take care of you, if you don’t you’ll be left alone without food or water.

He has a slightly sadistic want to make you cry. It looks so cute and beautiful to him, like the rain from the garden is dripping from your lovely eyes.

Misc Stuff

Most Nagas aren’t afraid to hunt pests, meat is meat, but Barbatos has a delicate palate and the thought of eating rats makes him ill. He also has a sensitive stomach so he can’t eat too much or anything too hot.

He loves to relax in hot baths but he never has time anymore helping with Diavolo and the Seven Demon Lords.

He likes to wake up early in the morning, put on an apron and start making pastries fresh that morning. Every morning is something new and always delicious.

Chapter One: The Arrivals (2/2)

Lights had filled the room. Purples, reds, greens, blues, yellows, golds, and pink flooded around the house like snakes searching for it's meal. Finding their targets still fast asleep, they coiled around their bodies until they were both covered head to toe. In almost an instant their bodies were swallowed whole, and the colored fog had disappeared as soon as they arrived. Leaving no one in their wake. Just the house. Empty of any breathing soul.

Through the closed eyes of the young girls, the colors still swirled. They were almost hypnotized by it. To each of their own the colors formed happy dreams, calming scents, and other promising visions. Even then, a black haze had started taking over. Though they were not awake their bodies had felt the shift and difference in their surroundings. Their skin no longer felt the soft warm beds. Now they lay flat on their backs upon two cushioned slabs. The air around them had grown hot, and uncomfortable. Their dreamy visions had finally faded to black, the panic set in, and they opened their eyes. Fully hoping their dreams turned into a nightmare. Concern and paranoia had set in as they shot up and locked eyes on each other. Fear evident in their faces.

Thoughts of cults and kidnappings came from their mouths as they tried so hard to figure out where they were. A loud and controlling voice echoed from nearby. They turned to the voice only to be met with seven uniformed men sitting under a high pedestal where another man sat, dressed in red. Noelle was first to stand up, her shaking feet feeling the stone cold ground that sent a shock through her body. Instantly, she stretched an arm out in front of Bella to protect her. The height difference between Noelle and Bella seemed comical to the seven men sitting at ground level, as various snickers and smirks were targeted towards them. The man above them speaking out again.

“Please, Don't be so afraid! You were brought here with good reason, and pure intentions!”

“What? Are you gonna brainwash us or something? Cause that would be the only "good reason" I can think of....”

Noelle spat back at the man, but shrunk slightly as he stood up, and frowned. Feeling looked down on, the girls tried to walk backwards for a door, but they only found the slabs they had woken up on.

“There will be no brainwashing, and you're more than welcome to leave at any time you desire. But only if you agree to change into more formal clothing, and listen to what I have to say...”

Noelle had yelped at the additional person who seemed to have been already standing by their side waiting, and holding on to clothing. A pleading look on his face had the girls silently agreeing to play along. Within the small amount of time they got dressed they seemed to have shaken off the general shock. Both of them seemed to admire the large banners decorated with different animals. They hung above the seven men in what was perceived as their rankings.

The silence that fell was broken too soon by the man in red who was obviously the leader of the group, and the silent servant who offered them clothes had stood next to him. Everyone now was on the same ground level.

“Let us try this again. I am Lord Diavolo, and you are the current hosts at the Royal Academy of Diavolo. Also known as RAD...”

“I knew it! It's a cult!”

Noelle exaggerated, and ruffled her nappy hair as a couple chuckles echoed around them. Her reaction almost lightened the mood.

“Not quite. I am the soon to be Heir of Devildom. The more civilized section of Hell's Layers. Or what some Humans tend to call the Underworld.”

The girls shook their heads in confusion. And for a few seconds they both looked at each other. Unsure if the truth was being told, but if it was...

“Wait... You said RAD. Oh dear god no. We tossed those out! We never gave them back to that creepy old lady! SHE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW US!”

Noelle seemed to panic as more and more irrational thoughts spewed out. A hand was placed on her shoulder, and she shrunk under the large man's touch. She reached back for Bella, but Bella had already backed away, fear seeping into her face.

“Those papers you filled out were connected to the ones in my office. As you filled those out, it carved ink into the papers here was well. Infused with my own magic. We call it Bleeding Applications. The main goal of my academy is to get an understanding of humans, demons, and angels in order to one day have peace between the three realms.”

Relaxing, Noelle nodded and looked back at Bella. Silently telling her that it's okay to get closer. She frowned as Bella shook her head no and opted to sit on the slab instead.

“Why us? We thought it was just a joke. What if we lied on those papers?”

“Well did you?”

“... No...”

“Perfect! I'd like to personally welcome you to the program! That is... If you agree to stay...”

A discussion took place about the new house they just bought, and their new lives they would miss out on. The teal haired servant that had guided the girls earlier was known as Barbatos. He was given the job to see that the newly acquired house would be taken care of as needed, and their payment would be completely paid off if they agreed to the program, and succeeded in staying. “But in hell?” Thought Noelle. “That's close to a death wish”. And as if her mind was read, they were introduced to the seven men who have been secretly judging them this whole time.

As the introductions went along it was revealed they were not just demons, or the school's council members, but they were all brothers. Lucifer. The eldest, who seemed to be the most put together, was the Avatar of Pride. Red eyes, and neatly kept black hair giving him a devilish charm, but an arrogant one as well. Mammon. The Second born who had made the most noise and laughter, and was obviously looking down on the girls. White hair, and unnatural blue eyes said trust, but he was the Avatar of greed. One to watch out for. The third born seemed bored of the whole situation, and would look away when either girl made eye contact. Dark lilac hair, with shiny orange eyes; the avatar of Envy. That was Leviathan. Fourth born, Satan, had given both the girls unwanted shivers as he was the Avatar of Wrath. The blonde hair and greenish blue eyes were comforting, but told them to run and hide. The fourth born, Asmodeus, was drilling holes into the girls with his own set of orange lush eyes. The mention of Lust made them both frown and slightly cringe as a quick wink was sent their way. Sandy hair was swept to the side flamboyantly. The last two were a set of twins. A redhead and a black haired male who's bangs were dyed white, and they shared purple eyes. Neither seemingly bored, or interested in the meeting. They were Beelzebub; Avatar of Gluttony, and Belphegor; Avatar of Sloth.

A bell rang out as soon as introductions were done, and everyone but the first born (Lucifer) had left. Stomachs growled and the girls looked around, avoiding his stare. Becoming impatient he walked by them. Nose in the air, and not bothering to even look at them.

“If you decide to follow me, I am heading to the cafeteria where we will give you a list of things you may want to avoid eating while you stay here. That is, if you have the gall to...”

Gulping they followed. The Cafeteria was empty, and it was no surprise to any of the demon brothers. As their food was handed to them, they both grimaced at the purple sludge consistency in front of them. They were soon forced to eat it, especially if they planned on eating any other foods that may contain poison. As much of the food in Devildom seemed to consist of. Soon after their crash course the girls were left to their own devices, and did their best to talk amongst themselves. Their decision to stay or leave weighed heavy.

Upon agreeing to stay, Lucifer seemed rather pleased with the news. The first genuine smile the girls had seen from him. It was then their task to talk with the brothers and decide who they chose as a tutor, who would also act as a guide.

Bella had immediately followed Noelle, and they first talked to the youngest, thinking that they would be the easiest to get along with. While they were not wrong about it, Bella seemed to relax more with the Sins of Gluttony, and Sloth. It became apparent that it was a two for one deal, and Noelle had stepped back to visually analyze her choices. By which she just looked at the remaining choices and their current activity. Satan and Asmodeus was almost an immediate no go. She feared she'd anger the wrath god, or be seduced. Neither of those were a good thing for her, or her mental health. Then her eyes laid upon Leviathan. The name stuck from TV shows she's watched in the past. Furthermore she couldn't help but recognize the hand held device in his hands.

Walking up to him with a bit more confidence, she sat beside him, and watched him for a few seconds. She recognized the sounds of Mario Kart being played. Perking up she waited for him to be seemingly done with his race.

“You know, I'm kind of a fan of racing games.”

Leviathan had rolled his eyes and gave her a frowning glare. It was obvious he didn't want to be bothered at this time. But before the conversation could continue, the bell rang, and Lucifer arose from his seat, his brother's watching him for instructions.

“I'm glad to see that you two have finally made your decision on your tour guides, and over all protectors-”

Noelle heard a quiet protest come from Leviathan, which was quickly shut down by Lucifer's glare.

“-Though they are now assigned to be your guides, this does not mean you must befriend them, or be attached at the hip. They have duties and hobbies of their own, and I expect you both respect that. Feel free to reach out to any of the brothers with questions. Now with that being said, you may head back to the council room, and collect your personal belongings, and devices.”

The bell had rung, but an eternity set in as Lucifer explained to them on how they were to settle in. Eventually they had collected a few bags of personal items, and enough clothes to get through the week. On top of that, they were given an allowance for other necessities, and any other luxuries they desired. It also turned out that the demons Bella and Noelle had been assigned were also key to their class schedule. Bella's classes consisted of study halls, history classes, along with a gym class. The final class earning a shared groan between Belphegor and Bella.

Noelle had a small bit of luck with more hands on classes such as dark arts, an actual art class, and potions. Though the tour between classes with Levi as her guide consisted more of him complaining about some 'Normie' having to follow him around. Noelle made mental notes of some complaints as to not make him mad.

The tours finally came to an end, and they were led to the House of Lamentation. A large Mansion where the Brothers lived, and where the Girls would be hosted for the school year. Dinner had passed by and soon the girls were brought to their rooms.

They hardly had time to admire the Gothic design of the home, as the girls split ways at the top of the stairs. Bella had taken a spare room closest to them, but Noelle had made her way down the hall. Leviathan had made a comment about how he's literally two doors across the hall from her room. He wasn't the nicest it seemed, as more insults of having to 'babysit' was made. An even bigger groan was made as he opened the door. It was a rather large storage room, that apparently Mammon was supposed to clean out before any new students arrived.

Arrangements were quickly made, and it seemed like Noelle would be staying in the living room until the storage space was cleared out. The darkness surrounded Noelle as Leviathan had left her alone rather quickly to go read Manga. Even though Noelle had expressed her fondness about the Japanese comics, it reached deaf ears, but was still greeted with a small 'whatever'. The night washed out the remaining lights. And Sleep was surprisingly attainable.
