and while she appreciated everything they had given her , the training they had provided ... it hadn't quite felt like home . maybe she should have just accepted things as they were , but she'd gone looking ... trying to find somewhere she belonged but all that was waiting for her was heartbreak . no one remembered a green eyed babe being left behind or a crying child being whisked away by a witcher . no one remembered a woman with child suddenly having no babe and a smaller frame . it was as if she'd been erased .

maybe it would have been better if she hadn't tried to find home .

and perhaps she shouldn't have wandered into a bar to brood in a corner and drown her sorrows in whatever brew her coin could buy because then she wouldn't have caught the attention of a bard and wouldn't have to manage her tongue . a slight smile , lips crooking politely in forced acknowledgement as she raises her tankard in polite greeting . "that's very kind of you ... but i'd rather my story not end up a bar song . there's already enough reason to turn and stare and i do not want to give anyone even more . "

Day 3 of SerennedyPrideWeek: Fantasy au!

Going back to my roots and decided to make a Witcher au for Day 3! Leon is one of the last Witchers from School of the Cat and is tasked with rescuing the daughter of a local king/lord named Ashley. He meets a Witcher from School of the Griffin named Luis, after saving him from a Cockatrice. Luis decides to tag along and help Leon on his mission, simultaneously falling for the Cat Witcher. While Leon is initially distant and even reluctant to allow Luis to join, the two become close as they continue on their mission and begin to form a deep bond.

One of Day 1’s prompt for Chrisker week is “fantasy AU”. I got inspired by The Witcher, because of the “trial of the grasses” so um…

Wesker as a Witcher of the “umbrella school” and Chris as a warrior of clan Redfeild.

The armour design (and chris’s face paint)may or may not be mildly inspired by skyrim.

Narumi Gen:

Witcher/Hunter and counterpart/companion of Soshiro Hoshina. They both initially travelled to the mountains to find a rumored dragon's den to slay said. His skills are very much resembling what a witchers can do, and he is remarkable in swords art, but also a formidable sourcerer for fight related magic and enchantment. Hoshina lacks the skill for advanced spells. They have an unspoken agreement to help each other get better with the skills the lack. He also prepares most of their potions.

Mina Ashiro:

(OK, listen Reno bb, pls don't cry, I promise you get your own ref sheet, I already made some scribbles as well!! She just shoved herself into my brain last night, and I liked it, so I simply had to do this! (~￣³￣)~ I'll make it up buddy <3)

I very much loved the idea of her being a long gone friend of dragon Kafka, that gifted him his human form and influenced his life so much. It suits the story sooo good!! But I kinda was sad she wasn't part of the current story anymore... ಡ ﹏ ಡ Well yeah, that's what I thought about yesterday while working on Narumi, got to bed, and at like 2 am a word hit me like a rock and I was fcking wide awake..

Banshee... ╭( ๐_๐)╮omg, that's gonna be awesome, I'mma make her a banshee like Sylvana and she's gonna be there and has to rediscover the world, since she was gone so long.

sfhfsdldkjthat's what I did. She is a banshee now, lol. A half-elf banshee, might I add. Revived by a necromancer in a very complicated ritual. So basically - welcome to season 2 of this AU of ours I guess? The necromancer in question (oh my, who could it possibly be, I ask? It's ma gurl Rin, of course) contacted Kafka and his party, with the intention to perform a ritual on Mina's grave to free her soul, which is still clinging to earth because of a later discovered act of betrayal that 'caused Tachikawa to fall when their enemies arrived. (smth like this, I dunno, I didn't think this part through a lot, lol)

For performing the ritual she needs, amongst other things, detailed information and a contribution of someone that was close with the deceased. After finding Mina's grave and corpse deep down in the catacombs of Tachikawas ruins they start the ritual. Kafka needs to contribute a scale and some details about Mina in the past, that the necromancer incorporates into the ritual. To everyone's suprise she also adds her own blood. The necromancer reveals her true goal to not free but capture Mina's soul and obtain her powers. But something goes wrong (maybe because of Kafka interrupting the ritual now, or smth idk) and instead Mina is revived as an undead soul with a new (but slightly unfinished) body. Because of the contributed blood she is bound to her summoner for as long as it takes her to find and free the part of her soul that is in fact still captured somewhere on earth. (Oh no - so Kafka gets his bestie back, that is also basically immortal :| And I def. have in mind some enemies to lovers bullsh*t here with the banshee and her necromancer, lol sorry not sorry)

God, I really haven't written much in the last few years. The oldest of these was posted four years ago! (The counterpoint is that I have several long-running longfics right now, which means a smaller number of stories.)

I think these show I tend to start in medias res, or else with a distinct image or line—the hook, as it were. I am also amused that two of these have Alec waking up, and a whopping four start with Magnus and some kind of movement. The two fantasy/fairytale stories pull back a bit to establish worldbuilding and backstory first.

Overall, this is a reminder to finally rewatch Shadowhunters and get serious about finishing at least some of my WIPs in that fandom. Had I but world enough and time.

Hi!

I’m Ginger: artist-nerd, citizen-scientist, make-garden-not-lawn enthusiast, and avid baker-of-cinnamon-rolls-from-scratch! I very much enjoy fandom! What is my weekly fanfic consumption like? High. Very High. Some of my current favs include: Star Wars (especially Kylux), The Witcher (here meaning I saw about an episode and a half of TWN, found the fandom, and wandered happily off towards Lambert and Aiden), LotR, sometimes StarTrek…..assorted others! I am passionate about creating things, too! Often, that means drawing fan art and/or comics. Actually, I’ve found myself stalling intermittently in that department over the past year or so. I’ve been almost exclusively drawing Kylux things using only Procreate, for a while now. Which I love doing! But I suspect doing just that one type of art for going on 4 years now is starting to have an effect of the breadth and depth of my creative well. So I’ve decided to change up how I create for a while! A good friend gifted me a sketchbook IRL and I want to fill it with traditional media drawings. I want to try drawing from more fandoms, try out new digital techniques and styles that maybe I hadn’t allowed myself before. I want to invest some time into art forms besides drawing, even - I’ve always enjoyed fiber arts and I’ve got a jack loom I’ve meant to finish repairing for a while. Once that is working, I want to learn to weave. And I want to share some of these things here! On that note, I suspect more than a few people who follow me on Tumblr are here because I have drawn a lot of kylux. Especially the long-form fan comic ‘Dying Is Easy Young Man, Living Is Harder’. WRT The Comic: Kraken and I are still fully intending to see it to it’s conclusion! Honestly, though, it’s been on unofficial hiatus for a while now and it’s likely to remain that way for a bit longer. Kraken is super busy with retraining and job related demands IRL, and I am also pretty swamped and trying to get back in a more sustainable groove artistically. The whole sitch doesn’t leave us a lot of room to create a big project like DIEYMLIH together, right now. I know firsthand how hard it can be to wait a long time for a story you enjoy to get finished - so I want to say ‘thank you’ to everyone being very patient with us! We will get there eventually! Read it. Do it. It's so fucking good. I usually don't read crossovers anymore but I couldn’t resist this one and it was so worth it. It blends the two worlds so well while making sure that the edges are obvious enough that you can still tell which parts came from what canon.

A relic from when I mostly read MCU fics that I return to again and again and again. Super cosy, slightly sad, incredibly well-written, one of those fics that just draws you in once you start reading it.

The set-up just makes sense and the progression of the story makes you want to keep reading forever.

The Witcher Headcanon (Modern AU) - Revenge

Yennefer loves Geralt and Jaskier, but they can, and do get on her nerves. They can be just downright f***ing annoying! It isn't always on purpose, though. It's little things they do, their little habits and mannerisms that drive her crazy.

It's how Jaskier will make a sandwich and walk away, leaving the counter looking like a five year old tried to make lunch.

It's Geralt leaving his pile of monster gut splattered clothes on the bathroom floor like he doesn't know where the s*dding clothes hamper is. And then Yennefer finds the one shirt he left in a corner somewhere that now smells like a d*mn dead animal.

It's Jaskier and Geralt playing Garbage/Trash Jenga to avoid having to be the one that has to empty the rubbish bins. It was truly impressive how high the garbage could be piled. Yennefer sometimes measured the towers in secret, out of idle curiosity.

Yennefer finds the sound of Geralt chewing annoying. He sounds like f***ing horse grazing. Some days she wonders if she will be the fist woman in history to murder her husband over how loudly he chews.

She can't stand the way Jaskier refuses to put the cup down or just refill it when he's obviously drained it. He just keeps sucking on the straw and moving it around the bottom of the cup like there might be some of whatever he's drinking hiding behind an ice cube.

Geralt keeps leaving his hair in the shower drain. Every day, there is a massive clump of hair, just squatting there. The man sheds like a d*mn wolf in summer. He's got so much f***ing hair, and it grows so fast! And he can wash it with a cheap bar of soap and it will always look amazing. It's not fair!

Jaskier keeps using her skincare products, and her bodywash. Yennefer doesn't really mind that he uses them, what p*sses her off is that he always waits until the containers are completely empty before buying more. And the containers are always empty when Yennefer goes to use them!

And that's something else that annoys her. Geralt and Jaskier will put empty food containers back in the fridge instead of just throwing them out, or putting them in the dishwasher, that neither of them seems to have figured out how to load, start, and empty.

One would think that both men were f***ing illiterate and incompetent because neither one of them seemed to be able to read the To Do list on the fridge or complete one of the tasks.

And yet "Your mom" always ended up on the list and got checked off. Sometimes twice.

Yennefer can be mopping the kitchen floor, and one of them will accidentally spill something, then just f***ing walk away!

Jaskier will giggle at words like "bumhole" , and "weiner", yet claim to be a mature adult.

Jaskier: "I am too a mature adult, Yennefer!

Yennefer: "Boobies."

Jaskier: *cackling, giggling, wheezing*

Geralt will routinely take his phone into the bathroom with him and spend 45 minutes taking a sh*t. Yennefer doesn't know if it actually takes him that long to pinch a loaf, or if he squirts it out in the first two minutes, then spends the rest of the time playing on his phone. Whichever it is, he always seems to do it when Yennefer needs to get in there.

And then he doesn't even have the courtesy to spray some air freshener when he is done! He just leaves it smelling like the inside of the devil's colon!

And that's another thing! The smells! Between their funky sweat and their rancid farts, Yennefer wonders if her olfactory receptors are going last much longer.

Then there is how, when asked what they would like for dinner, they both respond unhelpfully with 'Whatever'.

There's many other little things that get on her nerves, and when her last, frayed nerve snaps, Yennefer has her ways of getting revenge.

If one of them annoys her too much while they are eating, she sends them to the Dipsh*t Table.

After Geralt got so angry with Jaskier that he left him at the mall, Yennefer cast a spell on him that made him literally sh*t golden bricks for the rest of the day anytime he got angry. Jaskier spent that day p*ssing him off on purpose, and they ended up with a small fortune. It had been the best spell Yennefer had ever cast. Geralt's a**hole had vehemently disagreed.

Jaskier ended up with a silencing spell on him after he wouldn't shut up. Yennefer and Geralt had finally gotten a few hours of blessed silence, and a little amusement. They sat watching Jaskier gesticulate and flap about, raging mutely and making obscene gestures, and made a game of guessing what the gestures meant.

Geralt made the mistake of telling Yennefer that she needed to 'lighten up'. Cue Yennefer casting a spell so her and Jaskier's shoes made the Tennis shoe/Sneaker Squeak sound whenever they took a step.

Geralt ended up as a small, angry pomeranian after he woke up in a bad mood and wouldn't stop b*tching about everything. That had only made things worse. He'd barked and yapped, p*ssed AND sh*t on the floor, then chased Jaskier through the house before cornering him in the laundry room and savaging his foot.

Jaskier spent a few minutes as a donkey because "If you are going to act like an a**..." Yennefer had quickly turned him back after he followed her around incessantly braying, and then farted on her.

She turned Geralt into a potoo because, well, he already looked like one anyway. He hadn't done anything particularly annoying that day, she'd just thought it would be funny.

She turned Jaskier into a baby after he kept whining about everything, and she instantly regretted it because oh, no, he's f***ing cute!

Yennefer cast a spell on Geralt that made him cough up a mouthful tiny d*cks every time he 'Hmm'ed instead of used words.

She gave Geralt a little girl's voice after he made fun of the way she had screamed when a cockroach flew at her. Jaskier had teased him relentlessly, only laughing harder the more Geralt demanded (in his little girl voice) that he shut up.

Does there have to be a monster in the story/the artwork that is important for the plot/the piece of art? - Yes, definitely! The monster can be purely imaginary though, like in a dream, or maybe people only think there is a monster, but it turns out there is not. It must be a driving force of the plot/central element of the artwork, though.

What is a monster? - "A monster is a type of fictional creature found in horror, fantasy, science fiction, folklore, mythology and religion. Monsters are very often depicted as dangerous and aggressive with a strange, grotesque appearance that causes terror and fear. Monsters usually resemble bizarre, deformed, otherworldly and/or mutated animals or entirely unique creatures of varying sizes, but may also take a human form, such as mutants, ghosts and spirits, zombies or cannibals, among other things. They may or may not have supernatural powers, but are usually capable of killing or causing some form of destruction, threatening the social or moral order of the human world in the process." Must the monster be evil and scary? - No, not necessarily. There are "good" monsters in the original Witcher books, like Dopplers or even a Higher Vampire. The monster could also just be a mischievous goblin that hides socks. Humour and fluff very welcome!

Must the monster die? - That is totally up to you. There are quite a few examples in the books where Geralt does not kill the monster, even cases where he befriends it.

Is sex with a monster allowed? - Sure, why not? Just tag it accordingly if it is nsfw or any warnings/triggers apply (like non-con etc.).

Last song I listened to: Tracy Chapman's Fast Car. luke combs butchered version was playing and I decided that wasn't acceptable so I quickly connected my phone and played the original version. our Lord, Savior and queen Tracy Chapman. this song helped me survive my art class. Current Obsession: I've been playing re4 lately and am In Love. Luis and Leon should kiss as a treat and the Luis lives aus are giving me the disabled rep I crave and deserve. I'm also falling back into my red dead redemption 2 phase and am always enjoying the witcher. I've also been in a soapghost hyperfixation for about 1.5 yrs which is a record. serennedy is distracting me tho rn
