Okay Floyd already says this in canon about his mer form but I’m not talking about that I’m talking about his human form

yes I always love a good jab at Azul’s flying skills but can we really expect him to be much better?

think of it this way. Azul has only known how to walk for like a year or two. He grew up his hole life in the sea and basically only had a quick boot camp to teach him how to live life on land. Yeah sure most babies can walk when their 2 but it’s a lot easier to learn a new skill then unlearn something you’ve done your hole life and we certainly don’t expect 2 year olds to function at the level of 17 year old. Azul is expected not only to walk which he admits was painful at least at first, but to run and dance as of he’s been doing this his hole life. And on top of this fly????? he also regularly hast to take potions in order to maintain his human form. Potions that he said taste disgusting.

Yeah his stamina on land isn’t great but he was still hanging in there during the climax of Glomas and wasn’t complaining. That’s impressive. Plus he’s substantially heavier in his mer form, heck he’s supposed to be bigger than Floyd and Jade. That weight/size change, as well as yk the fact that he’s not underwater, has got to be difficult to adjust too.

He always pushes himself and knows how to play into his strengths and I love that for him

also we can’t not mention the fact that his UM is literally so OP and he CHOOSES to restrict himself by manner of a contract. He doesn’t have to, he could have restricted himself in any other way because the contract is not part of the spell but he chose a contract not only filtering his own magic but giving the other party something out of it, as well as asking for written consent, ignoring how shady they are lol
