ᯓᡣ𐭩 He'd get a little bit of pride when explaining his traits to you over time. Seeing you have such awe in his demonically bovine features made him feel like he was having a chance to show off a little to you, which is something he'd always take the chance to do

ᯓᡣ𐭩 He gets a little upset if you poke fun at them, it's an easy way to make him sour at you for at least a good few hours

ᯓᡣ𐭩 He trails around after you quite a lot, always keeping track of your scent and cues to your behavior. He'd nestle in next to you, sitting beside you at all times to ensure your safety and comfort. While maybe a little odd, he was simply trying to replicate how his father taught him to court

ᯓᡣ𐭩 One time you jokingly asked if this meant you should get him some flowers to eat and he got so dramatically offended that he refused to talk to you for at least an hour (he eventually came in and crawled back into snuggles with you. Though he declared that he was still upset, he missed your presence more)

𐙚 While I normally don't like the tsundere trope, I have to admit that Red Son is definitely a walking tsundere. I feel like, compared to the ones in anime though, he's less likely to hurt you or be too hurtful with his words. Yes, he likes you and yes, he definitely doesn't want to admit to it, but he also would never do or say anything that would make you upset. He's simply more in denial of his feelings, so when doing something nice he always needs to insist he's doing it out of pity rather than being, well, kind.

𐙚 Because of that, if you're someone who's familiar with his personality, you can definitely tell when he has a crush on you. He's kinda hard to miss and everything, and he's somehow always around when you need help….but it's definitely not because he likes you or anything. He just can't bare to see you look so pathetic 🙄

𐙚 Like Mei (canon), he probably has hidden cameras on you, because he thinks stalking you is much too creepy (especially if in the instance you're not a demon), so he prefers to at least be able to check a camera or two to ensure you're safe. He pinkie promises it's not to do anything but to maintain your safety! And I don't personally see him being a creep about him. Red Son's paranoid by nature, and that heavily influenced how protective he is of people he cares about, even if he refuses to admit to it.

𐙚 Confessing is a bit difficult for the bull prince but only because he has a hard time in general trying to gather his feelings together. He has a hard enough time as it is to admit he's in love with you. It takes some time, but he'll get there. You can't try to confess to make things easier though, if that's what you're wondering. He refuses to allow you to be the first to confess.

𐙚 In time, as long as the confession works, Red Son is….still the same, actually. Normally some people are sorta different when they're dating, but Red Son has a pretty stubborn personality. Makes sense with his dad being a bull and all, but point blank, there's not much differences with his personality before the relationship, and after. I imagine it feels weird to just suddenly try and act differently, but give him time. He's less rude at least, and does try to be less sarcastic. Doesn't mean there are times his temper wouldn't get the best of him, but if you're willing to be patient with him, he'll get there.

𐙚 Red Son is definitely a romantic to me. He swoons when he thinks he's alone and has an album of pictures that consist solely of you, at your best and worst (not literally. More like silly, goofy moments you wouldn't want captured on film). His wallpapers are pictures of you smiling at him, and his ringtone may or may not be your voice greeting him. (It took a lot of guts, but he did manage to allow his pride to fall just enough to ask your permission to use your voice as a ringtone.)

𐙚 He's the type to spend millions of dollars before and after the relationship. Originally, there were bouqets of flowers big enough to fill your entire house from him, flowers he refused to take credit for before the relationship started. Afterwards, when you start dating, he at least has the balls to admit the gifts you used to receive back then were from him…..while simultaneously buying you dozens more.

𐙚 Not a fan of flowers? That's fine with him―Red Son pays attention to your interests, hobbies, likes and dislikes. Whatever you like, he finds for you. He's not the type to judge at all with whatever you like and find enjoyment in, so if you like a video game or show, collecting old coins or baking, he supports you regardless, and he always ensures you're gifted with the things you like. Think of this as some sort of odd courting attempt.

𐙚 I don't see him being a direct fan of pda as the relationship progresses. He does enjoy being seen in public with you, and he will place a protective arm on you if necessary, but he's a little….shy when it comes to handholding…and little kisses….and basically any type of affection, actually.

𐙚 As a matter of fact, I think that he's just awkward in general with affection at the beginning. Mind you that you're possibly the first person he's tried to be more open with, and if you're also someone who isn't cold and too aloof compared to his mother and other demons, then you would be the first person not counting Mei and MK who's made him feel comfortable enough to express much gentler emotions. It's hella awkward for him to express his feelings, physically or mentally, but with time, he'll get there. Pretty soon he's more clingy than you (if you're clingy), just anticipate it's behind closed doors.

𐙚 He's definitely the type to claim you're the more attached of the two of you, but that's a lie. Sometimes, when he's alone, he cries a bit if you're not around to comfort him 🙁

𐙚 Seeing that he opened some type of food stall in s2 (and possibly also planned on opening one in s5 with his family?), I think Red Son cooks as a hobby and is absolutely talented at it by accident. Whether or not you're capable of cooking matters little to him because he's willing to cook for you….you'll probably just have to teach him about your spice tolerance though if you can't handle spicy food too well. He'd also have you as his taste-tester if you're willing.

𐙚 For all his cockiness, Red Son has his insecurities. He especially feels like he's not good enough for you, and gets envious if you seem to like/show affection to someone else. I can kinda see him being unwilling to introduce you to his ‘friends’ (if you aren't associated with Mei/MK prior) because he'd think they'd be more fun/interesting than he is, and steal your time and attention away. You'll probably need to assure him that you still very much care for him, even if Red Son would take his insecurity to the grave with him.

Your death was a dark stain in Red Son's past, like a glimmer that could never be captured again

As much as Iron Fan could provide her support, the mourning process still ate away at the flame prince

Centuries later, Red Son's father had returned, and a missing piece of him returned, but you were still gone

Of course, chance had it that he found you while shopping for ingredients

Unlike Wukong, Red Son wasn't old enough nor wise enough to notice how mortals reincarnated, so when he saw you, he was asking questions left and right

Those questions would only increase if you remembered him

     Redson scoffs a laugh, lifting up his welding mask to look up at your hanging state as he puts down his blowtorch.

     "After I finish my invention, we will go up to the mountain where my father was imprisoned..." He started to monologue "and then... I will exchange your life for the staff! ...that noodle boy cares for you so much that he will give it to me willingly! And once I have the staff is mine... MY FATHER WILL GAIN HIS POWER AND BE THE GREATEST RULER OF THE WORLD!"

     Redson's dark and overdramatic laughs echoes through the room as the lava's light reflected behind him, creating a giant menacing shadow of himself on the walls.

     Meanwhile you only blink twice at him, not being effected by the intimidating aura that the prince made.

     "You think I'm worth more than the staff?" "What"

     "Well, you basically said that I'm the same price as the staff... Do you think I'm that special?" You grin at him while he was only flabbergasted by your words.

     "W-what?! NO YOU IDIO--" "I don't know, like, you kidnapping me, thinking that I'm enough to be exchanged with the staff, you could've picked Mei but you chose me!"

While he made his invention to secure his plan, you were in the background trying to make him admit that he thinks you're special

After the 'stealing-wukong's-powers-from-MK' plan didn't work, he couldn't find anymore information or updates in MK's life

Macaque has to keep a close eye on him afterall, considering he is Wukong's apprentice

So why not get one of MK's best friends? He can't just lurk in the shadows

Sure, that'll work but he needs more dept and personal stuff about MK, to find something to hold him back

So while you were on your way back home, not paying attention to your surroundings that was when Macaque took the opportunity.

You took a step and before you knew it, you were falling down to the ground into a theater place for shadow puppet shows.

You landed on your back on the wooden ground, making you raise your brow in confusion cause you remember that you were walking on a pedestrian.

As you look around the place, you hear a dark echoey chuckle from behind you making the hair on your skin rise.

You stood up immediately to see none other than the shadow of the six-eared Macaque.

"Hey, doll..." He chuckles again, his grin getting wider as his shadow shrinks and he turns into his monkey form.

"Macaque?! What am I doing here?! Are you here to hurt me?! Well bad luck, monkey!" You glared at him making him smirk.

"Don't worry, don't worry, I'm not here to hurt you, I'm just here to borrow you for a while" Macaque says shrugging, getting closer towards the stage that you stood on.

"Me?" You ask in full confusion, your body relaxing as you put down your defenses.

"Mhm... You see, hiding in the shadow is not enough for getting information and I need you get me some," Macaque answers.

You pause as each side of your lips starts to slowly rise, "Me?"

"Yup, if you don't comply... then I might take back the 'I won't hurt you' part, simple, hm?" Macaque threatens with a hum.

You pause again, longer this time "me?"

"Yes, you..." Macaque sighs as he gives you a 'are you deaf?' look.

You held your laugh for a while before laughing aloud, Macaque, ofcourse felt as if you're underestimating him as he gets a little grumpy at your reaction.

"Wh- why are you laughing huh?!" "Pfft-- sorry! Sorry, sorry, it's just... I don't know it's funny"

"Funny how?" Macaque ask as he raises his eyebrow in frustration and crosses his arms.

It was a new break of dawn when you decided to lock him in your arms possessively as you snuggled into his chest, he was supposed to make breakfast for both of you but it ended up in a never ending cuddling session in the comforts of your own bed.

"Let go of me you insolent gremlin... I have to cook breakfast so you won't starve to death..." Red Son muttered irritably as he tried to push you away, but you just won't budge.

"Nooooo I want my daily dose of cuddles though," You whined as you push yourself unto Red Son futher, looking up to his gaze with puppy dog eyes hoping that he would fall for it.

"We've been cuddling for half and hour now." He deadpanned, completely ignoring your effort to make him stay with you in bed.

"...Doesn't matter I want you." You said, stubborn against the idea of Red Son leaving for something that is totally not important.

"W-why you little- ugh!" He groaned, you could tell that you left him flustered because of your words by him just stumbling upon his words.

"I'll just be in the kitchen if you need me..." Red son muttered off before gently pushing you off of him completely this time. Though it was surprisingly easy, this made you wonder why he didn't just push you away earlier.

He climb off the bed and went out of your room, now it's just you alone.

"Noooo It's too cold, come back my personal heaterrr" You whined some more as you flail the covers of your bed, you were never a morning person to begin with. You caught yourself staring at the ceiling of your room afterwards, still not planning on abandoning your comfortable bed.

Though that beg to differ when you smelled freshly made pancakes from your kitchen, fuck. You groggily stood up from your bed as you set off to consume those remarkable scrumptious pancakes.

You peaked from the side of the door that leads to the kitchen, the first thing you notice that Red Son was in an apron, the pink one that you bought for the giggles that is.

"So the little gremlin decided to leave their territory." Red Son said with a small smirk, despite facing back from you and being preoccupied with the pancakes he still could feel the chaotic energy radiating from you.

You chuckled at that his remark before walking towards the stack of pancakes that Red Son had taken away from the hot frying pan, your eyes dazzling as you were practically drooling because how perfect the pancakes looked.

"Don't think about touching those, I'm still not done with this batch." Red Son bluntly said which made you pout.

"Awee, maybe just a little nibble?" You practically begged as you eyed him and the pancakes that as placed in front of you at the same time.

"No."

"Someone has to eventually do the taste check so-"

"Don't you dare think about it."

"Oh but I am."

"Don't-"

Before Red Son could ever stop you, you took a small piece from one of the pancakes with a fork and quickly consumed it. His expression dropped completely as he watches you happily chew his pancakes.

"These are really good!" You complimented with a big goofy smile on your face.

"For the love of- Augh fine go gobble them up for all I care." He said with a huff went back to flip the pancakes that was still on the pan, though he couldn't help but feel the warm tingling sensation in his heart when you complimented about his cooking.

You look at him for a moment before an idea popped into your mind, you took another piece of one of the pancakes you had just now and placed it in your mouth, you tapped on Red son's shoulders to grab his attention.

"What is it now? If you're looking for the maple syrup it's in the fridge- Hmmp-!" He froze in place as you suddenly went in for a kiss, he could taste the sweetness of the pancakes from your lips. His face was set ablaze and his fiery tied up hair flickered though he did nothing to push you away.

The kiss was short as you pulled away, smiling at him innocently as if you didn't do anything to possibly cause him a heart attack.

"The pancakes were sweet no? though would've gone great with maple syrup..."

Were you watching him this entire time he was droning on about stuff? The realization that he had been the only one flapping his gums while you listened caused the prince's face to erupt in a few hues of pink that darkened as your smile widened.

Red Son could feel the amusement rolling off you. 

His grip on your joined hands tightened as he pulled you along again, not realizing sooner that he had stopped walking when he stopped talking. 

"Ahem, besides that…is there, uh, anything new with you?" Red Son inquired. 

"Nope." 

Red Son blanched, sputtering before forming a proper sentence, "You! Are you teasing me or is there really nothing happening with you? At…at all? Really?"

You swung arm, forcing Red Son's to join in the 'fun' as you stared ahead. 

"Uh huh."

 

"You expect me to believe that?" 

"Well…there is something." 

"Out with it then!" 

Red Son froze when you stepped closer, shoulders bumping together, and pressed your lips against his cheek. The feeling of your glossed lips pecking his cheek left as soon as it came. Yet the sensation lasted lifetimes in his head as his eyes bulged from their sockets. You had the pleasure of watching his fiery hair spark a few times before he furiously shook his head and turned to scold you for the display of affection in public of all places. 

"Calm down," You attempted to pacify, small giggles slipping past your snorts as you gestured to the decorated path of the public park. "We're in a pretty secluded spot, not a lot of people come this way." 

Red Son huffed as the pink hue on his face reddened. 

"Whatever, be mindful next time you decide to act on such…primitive urges."

"You liked it~"

"I…! I did not!" 

"Oh? Guess I won't do it anymore," You looked away but caught Red Son's expression falling into despair at your declaration. 

"I didn't say I was opposed to you doing it," Red Son mumbled but quickly added, "Only in private, understand?" 

"Loud and clear, firefly," You saluted halfheartedly. Red Son rolled his eyes at the nickname you've chosen for him, but his eyes landed on a bench looking out at the lake on your side. 

"Let's take a break over there," Red Son redirected the two of you to the wooden bench. As the two of you sat down, you scooted close enough to lay your head on the demon's shoulder. Red Son tensed before relaxing, his arm snaking around your waist and pulling you even closer. The previous statement you spoke earlier eased his fears as he looked around the desolate area with satisfaction. 

That's how the rest of the outing went, sitting on a bench in each other's embrace while watching the sun set over the lake. A chilling breeze blew past causing you to shiver, Red Son glanced at you before resting his head against yours.

You blinked a few times as the heat radiating off of your partner began to increase, the toasty warmth made you sigh as you turned your head to study his closed-eyed appearance. You've complimented him time and time again, each sweet word from you was vehemently refuted by him, but you knew deep down he loved every bit of your sugary diction. 

Red Son felt a gaze burn into him. Thinking it was someone who managed to walk on the path less taken, the prince sharply raised his head and looked around with a glare. Seeing no one, Red Son looked at you and found your eyes glued onto his form for the second time. 

He wasn't as flustered this time, even when he was caught off guard twice. The look in your eye stopped whatever inquiry Red Son had on the tip of his tongue. 

When you leaned closer, the prince understood the meaning behind that gaze of yours. Your eyes flickering between his and his mouth all but confirmed what you wanted. He wasn't ready yet, was he? Red Son wanted nothing more than to oblige but-

Could he? Should he? 

Red Son's eyes squeezed shut as the area between his brows crinkled. Red Son'is lips puckered and waited to make contact with yours. You stopped to examine his face and held back your laugh, instead you closed your eyes and gently pushed your mouth against his. A muffled squeak from the prince was drowned out by the kiss, and with your hands resting on his chest and his trembling hands finding purchase on your waist, the two of you extended the duration of the kiss. As your lips moved against each other, your hands began rubbing Red Son's chest and his head tilted to deep the kiss. 

Was it you or was it getting uncomfortably hot? 

You were about to pull away when a 'fwoop!' and the sound of crackling fire stole your attention, causing your eyes to flutter open and peek at your boyfriend's hair setting ablaze. The azure flame shone brightly and captivated you for a while. You weren't able to laugh at the cute display when you felt the pair of lips devouring yours rise in temperature. Before you knew it a painful sting made you push against Red Son's chest hard. 

"H-huh?" Red Son asked in a daze before snapping out of his stupor and staring, horrified, at your lips which you were currently fanning to cool down the aching wound. 

"Shit." Red Son pinched your chin and forced you to face him. "I knew this wasn't a good idea, oh, my love, I'm so sorry for hurting you…I…I should have noticed sooner, please forgive me-"

You hummed and patted Red Son's shoulder to reassure the babbling mess before he broke out in tears out of pure frustration. It happened once during your first date when it…didn't end so well and that wasn't a pretty sight to witness. That poor paper cut-out of the monkey king that got caught in the crossfire…

Anyway, a few more apologies and rushing back to the car later, the two of you were resting back at your home and cuddling on the couch.

He’s seen a lot since the day he found the staff and it would be reasonable for him to think he’s seen every weird thing. But one day when he was out on a date with you, another villain of the week attacked right beside you both and you saw a large piece of debris coming towards you. You pulled out your sword from your chest and cleanly sliced the large piece of stone in half.

Meanwhile, MK has thousands of thoughts buzzing around, many of them wondering how he didn’t find out about this sooner. How are you able to do this without cutting your chest? Were you scared to show him your sword chest thing? Why don’t you use it more often? Why did you hide the cool boob sword from him?!

Be prepared for an abundance of questions being yelled at you as he’s fighting off the demon. He’ll deal with priorities later and get lectured about it by Wukong, Macaque, Pigsy, Sandy, Tang, Red Son, Mei, etc (pretty much everyone who cares about his wellbeing)

He will be asking to see it again whenever you’re okay with it and every time it’s like he’s seeing it for the first time. There are stars in his eyes as he admires the skill you have of not hurting yourself but also how gorgeous your blade is. This man is trying his best to hold back the wave of questions due to his confusion on how you actually do it since not one bit of it makes sense to him.

Mei

Genuinely loves it and tries to replicate it or somehow make it known how amazing and impressive she finds your ability.

She is genuinely more in love with you and wants to see you perform to your ability as much as you allow. Endlessly complimenting you about your skills and grace whilst also looking badass.

Despite accidentally injuring herself many times Mei continues to try and replicate it because of how much she wants to be able to do it with you. You and the others will have to stop her from injuring herself too much. Whenever a battle is going on you and her will match your styles, you summoning your glowing violet sword with your girlfriend in tow and mimicking you.

She will constantly ask to see your sword up close and admire the beautiful style of the metal, tracing the intricate designs carved into the hilt and end of the blade. Mei of course loves anything shiny so you might have to steal your sword back because she isn’t going to give it back easily.

Sun Wukong

He probably has the opposite reaction compared to the rest since he’s centuries old and he’s seen a lot of strange things. However, all of that goes out the window when a piece of debris nearly hits you causing you to take out your sword in front of the group and effectively slashing the debris into rubble behind you. You see a look of shock and a failed attempt to push down his excitement now that he knows you’ve unintentionally hidden this amazing and pretty attractive ability of yours.

He’s not going to ask that many questions and plead for you to do it again and again so he can fully see how it works and functions. Of course, the obvious next step is for you both to spar until both of you are exhausted or it comes to a draw and then he’s going to admire your sword while you both rest. The shiny glowy object is very pretty to look at even to you.

When you both are cuddling or relaxing he’ll sometimes ask to “play” with your sword and trace the details or carving in the high-quality steel, being careful it doesn’t cut him because he’d rather not get up from the warm cuddle pile you both have and not so subtly replaying the memory of how you summoned your sword in the first place.

This does mean that you’re going to join MK in training sometimes and momentarily distract Wukong because you are his lover but also he’s still drawn into your swordsmanship skills which causes either of you to get a hit in. He pouts angrily pouts at you while telling MK that he just got lucky and he let it happen to teach him another lesson but neither of you buy a word of that lie.

Redson

Despite everyone else’s reactions, he’s very confused about how this works or even how you don’t get cut every time you do it, and thinking about it makes him go into a spiral of curiosity.

Like MK be prepared for many questions about your ability and the permission for him to examine your sword for a couple of hours, you aren’t banished from his workshop but he’s going to hyperfixed the sword and its ability. So you may not get much attention unless it’s to get him to eat and drink or necessary things because he must find out.

Red Son does find it attractive and is very impressed with your skill as you wield the blade when you’re training or just fighting in general. He is a gentleman so he’s wary of staring at your chest for too long so you can definitely see a light blush on his cheeks if you look at him at just the right time.

Don’t get me wrong he is very impressed with your ability but also wonders if he could somehow improve your ability if you request it. If not then he’s still curious but he does eventually stop given this is a world where magic and demonic bullshit exist and sometimes stuff just doesn’t make sense.

He didn't notice you run up due to his deep contemplating, until your arms were suddenly wrapped around him in a tight greeting hug. >Much like his LMK counterpart, he is still lazy in his own way. So he rather lazily snuggles against you when cuddling. He's like a blanket with some extra weight to keep you trapped in his arms.

>His kisses are very gentle for his rather emotionless attitude. Mainly because he doesn't want to overwhelm you or accidentally hurt you with his strength.

>Very protective of you. Of course he was already protective before, but if you're in a relationship with him, then he takes his jobs of protecting you a lot more seriously. That's not just his Master in danger anymore, but also his significant other.

>Casually picks you up with his tail and holds you close when he craves kisses or cuddles. Won't do it in public though. In public he just holds your hand.

>He's very attentive and will try make your day just a little better with small gestures. Such as silently pulling you close if you need comfort, but don't need as much as when every other champion can feel it.

>His standpoint on outdoor vs indoor dates are 50/50. Really depends on the time, day, weather, etc. Just make sure he actually fits wherever you wanna plan a date. His tall stature makes sitting in normal-sized seats at restaurants uncomfortable for him.

>Like, despite being physically the least amount of normal, he feels the most like a genuine relationship with no prior biases towards you, despite you being labeled as his Master. pigsy and mk helped you move most of your stuff to mk’s apartment (mostly clothes and other things like that) and your hamster

He likes seeing you after a long day, sometimes he even forgets that you live there

Plush Love (Macaque & Red Son x Reader) Headcanon

Macaque:

When Macaque noticed your plush, he asked about it, mainly out of boredom and slightly curiosity

It seemed to be warn, loved through time and cared for through the ages

When you told him the story of the cute thing, Macaque was impressed

Keeping something like that for years surely wasn't as easy as it seemed, and finding comfort in something so simple wasn't expected by the shadow demon

Yet, it fit you just wonderfully, how you had an eternal friend watching over you that helped you through rough patches in life

He offers to wash the plush carefully, even to replace the stuffing if you'd like (like those stuffed toy hospitals)

He's always gentle around your plush if you let him hold it

He becomes a pseudo-caretaker of it, protecting it like a cub on occasion

Its smell has yours in it, so he likes it a lot, might even snuggle with it in secret

Anyone being mean or rude to you about the plushie is immediately bitten by Macaque, verbally at least

Macaque doesn't take well to those who belittle others for being different, so you'll bet he'll have many words to say to bullies

If you're ever stressed, Macaque is quick to provide you with your plushie and a hug

He understand entirely how important this plush was to you, so it's the first tactic he uses if you're ever upset or need comfort

Red Son:

Red Son didn't understand how you found comfort in such a thing

It was an object that merely had sentimental value that was incomprehensible to him

This wasn't something you made, it wasn't a living things that could smile or even breathe around you

Yet, the more explained it to him, the more he understood

Red Son found comfort in his hobbies, building machines and cooking

You found your comfort in your plushie, a beacon of stability that Red Son would have by busying himself

He was rather intrigued by it, how something so insignificant could be so important to you

Red Son wasn't cruel about his ignorance, if anything, he asked a lot of questions

At the end of the day, he chalked it down to something you just had, something that made you happy

He was glad to see that you some support with you, even if it was a plush that stared at him weird

If anyone treated you strangely because of it, let's just say they wouldn't be seeing you again any time soon

If you didn't want anyone harmed, well, Red Son could just place them on a random island and leave it at that-- no harm no foul, as the mortals would say
