Sam / Darlin Headcanons

[In no particular order]

✩ Sam has stretch marks on his hips and across his back from growing so fast after leaving Mont Blanc

✩ Darlin has a high pain tolerance so they literally don’t realize when they’re seriously injured sometimes

✩ Sam has a lot of faded scars on his hands

✩ Sam is the oldest brother, Darlin is a middle child - they both had to leave their younger siblings behind and still feel bad about it

✩ The younger pack members think Sam is the absolute coolest even though they don’t get to see him very often

✩ Sam still has David’s name saved as Mr. Shaw in his phone

✩ Since Sam convinced Darlin to start eating actual food they are BUILT - their muscles aren’t super lean and defined anymore, but they’re noticeably stronger

✩ Occasionally when they’re stressed Darlin will shift and lay directly on top of Sam like a wolf-shaped weighted blanket

✩ Sam hates the question “are you a tea or coffee person?” because people rarely accept his answer of “both”

✩ Darlin was very uneasy about any kind of physical touch after Quinn, especially skin-to-skin, so they almost exclusively wore clothes that covered their entire body for about a year - they feel safe enough to wear tank tops and shorts now

✩ Darlin likes holding both sides of Sam’s face when they kiss

✩ Sam pretends to be more oblivious to modern media than he really is 

✩ Before turning, Sam needed glasses - for a while afterwards he would still wear them out of habit

✩When shifted, Darlin is one of the biggest wolves in the pack

✩ When he was younger, Sam used to fight in shady arenas for some quick cash

✩ Darlin knows how to play bass

✩ Sam shaved his head after leaving Mont Blanc and after turning as his way of “starting his new life” - he keeps it fairly long now but makes an effort to keep it trimmed and maintained

✩ Darlin has convinced Sam to paint his nails with them at least once

✩ Sam looks like his dad but he has his mom’s eyes and her smile

✩ Sam dances like a tipsy suburban dad at a backyard barbecue

✩ Darlin has a habit of glaring like they’re about to murder the next person who enters their line of sight when they’re actually just thinking about what they want for dinner

✩ Sam was raised on a ranch so he knows how to ride horses, herd cattle, etc.

Fun fact!

Darlin and Sam’s anniversary is technically January 9th.

In the timeline it says nine days after the inversion (New Year’s Eve) is when Sam and Darlin made their relationship official and said they loved each other and Darlin called Sam their Mate.

Sam’s latest vid has got me thinking that this depressed brokeback cowboy would absolutely be the guy in a zombie apocalypse who lets his infected lover out into the open because he thinks “they’re still in there somewhere” and that’s fucking DEPRESSING

If darlin was turned into a zombie and put in an enclosed space so that they wouldn’t infect anyone Sam would def be the guy you fucking crack your screen in rage for because of his dumbass decision to let them out

I mean— at the very least he would let darlin infect him too after they turn and that’s such a bummer maaaan

Thinking about how Tank and David probably see Gabe in each other. Gabe was the closest thing Tank got to a fully functional adult who cared about them and Gabe was David father, they both had deeply personal relationships with Gabe.

It’d be no surprise somethings stuck

It’s no surprise David grew up with similar features as Gabe but there was always such an overwhelming David of how he held himself. Tank though, had no problem seeing how much of Gabe lived in David. Sometimes they’d look up and see David move in such a way it’s like Gabe is right there in front of them. Arms crossed loosely, hands tucked into his armpit, leaning back a bit as David pinched his face a bit more than Gabe would as he listened.

Tank, it’s more subtle, more quiet and something that flys over your head. Something that’s quite normal in things regarding Tank. But David, with years of life with his father and seeing Tank a few times when his dad would pull him and guide a young Tank through the threshold. Tank dressed in a similar way to Gabe, practically and casually; leather jacket attached to their body and old worn jeans with boots that looks like they were older than him. Tank wore looser clothes though, Gabe was fine with more form fitting shirts and pants where Tank tried to hide.

Ok but consider...

Someone shit talks the pack in front of darlin but they don't stop them. Darlin lets them talk, they agree, they even add onto all the person's thoughts and feelings with their own. They have a full on conversation and Darlin lets the feelings fester, all their frustrations with the pack, every time David has pissed them off, every smart comment Milo made, every douchebag statement Christian made, every whiney annoying sentence Asher has ever spewed, it all comes to the surface. Then Darlin punches the shit talker square in the nose. There's a sudden confusion before Darlin leans in over them so that they're face to face with the offender who has since fallen to the ground and is now looking up at Darlin who with their most approachable smile says. "Those are some solid points. Don't ever say that shit again."

A very shitty drabble I thought of but couldn’t execute correctly, Enjoy!:)

Darlin lays on the ground. Bite marks, and cuts all over their body. Specifically, the one stretching across their back to the middle of their chest. They put their hands flat on the ground, attempting to push themselves up. blood drips from their soaked shirt before they cough, eventually vomiting up a mix of phlegm and blood, making them fall onto their forearm. Before they begin pushing themselves back up, they feel a hard, heavy boot on their back. They didn’t have to look. They know who this was. “Little cheap, don’t you think?” They try to let out a smug laugh before it falls into a cough. “Kicking a dog while it’s down?” They look over their shoulder. Jesus just the sight of him chilled them to the fucking bone. “Well, how else would it learn?” Quinn. Fucking. Fox.

He kicks them in the side. Remember that big cut that was mentioned earlier? Yeah. Right there. “Still can’t win a fair fight?”.

Darlin rolls over, trying to shift. Their body gets bigger but they’re too weak to complete the shift as they shrink back to their normal size. “Oh, I can. This is just much more fun…” He laughs. Darlin, albeit with much effort, wobbles onto their feet. Quinn walks towards them, slowly. At least it felt slow, every step he took felt like an extra heartbeat in their chest. Darlin tries to step forward, but fails. Catching themselves on their right foot. They don’t think they’ve ever been this angry. “Poor mutt. Still mad at me?” Darlin attempts to swing a punch at him, which he promptly dodges.

“So have you decided yet?” Quinn questions, that damned smirk still plastered on his chapped lips. “What..?” Darlin breathes out, still disoriented. “On if you’ll turn or not?” He asks innocently. Darlin doesn’t answer. They just stare. “I’ll take that as a no.” He deadpans. “Don’t worry.” Why can’t they move? “It won’t burden you for much longer.” He grabs hold of their chin. Why aren’t they fighting back? Why can’t they shift to bite or scratch….”I’m going to make it..all better, precious.” Quinn flashes his fangs before biting himself on the wrist, forcing it to Darlin’s mouth. They try to resist but all that comes out are grunts from behind their lips. “Blood for blood. Drink.” They do it. Why the hell are they doing it?! He laughs. He laughs. His fangs are white. Very white,that’s all they see before those fangs sink into their neck. White. They couldn’t hear, they couldn’t see, all they could do was taste their spit in their mouth, the taste of his bitter, thick blood haunting their tongue. Before they can fall into unconsciousness, they hear Quinn’s voice. “I do this because I care, dearest..”

Im just wondering if there are any fics that are focused around the security guard aspect of the Redactedverse? I’ve been into shows like KinnPorsche or Advance Bravely recently where the main characters are all part of a bodyguard agency where lots of fights and goofy shit occur and I’d love to read that kind of stuff with the Shaw gang. If not, you bet imma start writing some.
