What if we bring back the prize chest, but for kink purposes.
Did you do more than the tasks asked of you? Go get a new colored rope from the prize box!
Did you need to safeword out of a scene? Go grab a treat from the chest for communicating your limit.
Kink is allowed to be fun! Your box could be filled with anything: sweet treats, edibles, toys, slips of paper with random rewards like "get out of 1 punishment free" or "role swap!" to be used at your discretion...
It's also the perfect place to put all the stuff you buy in a moment of weakness so you can feel like you earned it when you get to pull it out.

Crane: Do I think Max is like a cat or an angry chihuahua? (...) say like an angry chihuahua to be honest!
Max: Wow!! Why would I be an angry chihuahua?
Crane: Because of your mood swings.

Atze: Any interest getting that RB19 into iRacing, Max? Max: You can't because iRacing already has the Mercedes and with the contract it says you can only have one F1 car in the game A: But no one is driving that car anymore M: No, because it's shit A: And it's way too complicated I think as well M: And it looks ugly [*sips red bull*]

Five Songs I'm Into Right Now
Tumblr media
Tagged by @sealrock - thank you! I don't get to talk about music often :> Tagging: @gatheredfates @iron-sparrow @archaiclumina @airis-ray @vasheden @ungrateful-cyborg @ahollowgrave
My favorite song list depends on my mood, the weather where I live, the weather at a point equidistant from the equator in the opposite direction, the end results of 6 daisy-chained random number generators, my current hyperfixation, and how much front-end code I've had to deal with that week; but for y'all. I will try and compile a list of my general go-to songs of the now.
Fair warning that I don't latch to lyrics often, so there's not gonna be any like. Insanely cool quotes or nothin. I tend to like things based on melody and rhythm.
[Pegasus Seiya] - The Struts
I don't even go here, but I was introduced to this song by my brother-in-law who represented it to us as an absolute banger. He was 100% correct, there are hundreds of lines of code that have that song on repeat to thank.
[Yellow Line] - James Shimoji
If you haven't seen REDLINE, do yourself a favor and do so asap. We advertise it as "seven years hand-drawn" because that's exactly what it is! It also has a kickass soundtrack, and this is the first song that you hear in the movie.
[Sleep Walking Orchestra] - BUMP OF CHICKEN
Yeah, yeah, me and everyone else watching Dungeon Meshi. This song got me through 7.6 kilometers, mostly uphill, when we were walking part of the Nakasendo. It really feels like a "my friends and I are on a big adventure!" kind of D&D song, and since we went in a group of 9 this really had that feeling!
[1] - MOB CHOIR
All of the Mob Psycho openings are excellent, but the third season's is my favorite. Something about the melody of the bridges is really quite excellent, and the chorus is a banger. Also not gonna lie, "So do what you can now" is something that pops into my head whenever I try and put things off.
[Twister] - Takeharu Ishimoto
Specifically the original. I'm way back into TWEWY music since I had a minor religious experience playing "Calling" through my bluetooth headset while standing in the Shibuya Scramble, and there's little that beats OG Twister. It was a perfect choice for the accompaniment of the opening - it really sets up expectations for the vibe of the game perfectly.

White person: you think you know more than me when it comes to race and treat me like my opinion doesnt matter
Me:
#its bc white people get this idea that once theyre an ‘ally’ their opinion is like super valuable and can overwrite the voices of poc#with a bonus side effect of them thinking that bc theyre more ‘articulate’ and ‘knowledgable’ about certain topics#they have a right to speak on them moreso than a poc#im sorry i dont care if you think a poc is dumb or wouldnt be able to explain redlining as well as you#dont treat them like they dont know these things exist#and i think its funny when they start thinking theyre more in tune with your culture than you are low key#like bc you read black twitter you think you are closer to black culture than like an actual black person#and listen some people may not be as in tune with their culture as they could be but its absolutely foul to discredit their belonging#or base it off of how much you expose yourself to#you are not black. did not grow up black. are not still black. you dont get to tell a black person what it means to be black#thats super fucking weird… like you think youre the guardian of the black race and if someone dont meet your standards#theyre not black enough. like hoowww do you not see the problem with policing blackness as a whole ass entire fucking white person#but ok im angry and im gonna shut up lmao#like ive realized that being black does not look like 1 thing and im sure as fuck not gonna let some yt tell me im not my literal race…#leave the subject matter of what it is to be black to actual black people fucking weirdos

I mean this is a pretty hot take but I think until y'all can sit down and actually provide examples of what you mean by "privilege" instead of using the word as a means of referring to the nebulous idea that some people have it better and its Their Fault, there will continue to be absolutely braindead takes about who holds what privilege and how it conflicts with actual first-hand experience.
That's why, when I ask what male privilege I was apparently either born with or received immediately upon coming out, I get crickets.
When we talk about male privilege, we talk about getting paid more. We talk about getting hired more, and into higher-paying jobs more. We talk about being able to vote and drive and have credit cards and bank accounts. We talk about reproductive freedom and body autonomy. We talk about rape statistics, domestic violence, and other forms of violent crime. We talk about immigration and citizenship status and human trafficking. We talk about power dynamics in relationships. We talk about society's expectations for gender roles.
There's two big problems with this:
Unless a trans man is completely binary, fully stealth, and has burned every trace of his past, almost none of this is accessible to him. Trans men don't get paid more unless their gender marker is M, there's no mention of ever being anything but cisgender, and they're completely stealth. They don't get hired more, unless these things are true. Many lived lives being discouraged from chasing higher paying jobs such as STEM fields due to being seen as girls, so they're not going into these jobs more either. Similarly with voting- when I registered to vote I was non-passing, with my legal name and gender marker. To the voting office, I was a woman. To my credit card company, who has never seen my face, I'm *still* a woman, despite passing most of the time. To my bank account, which I've had since I was 8, I've never not been a woman. When I took my driver's test, I was treated as a woman.
When I asked for a hysterectomy at 20, I was told not until I was over 30, had a minimum of two children, or had a husband to sign off on it. Just like a woman. When I whacked my head as a kid and was rushed to the doctor, the doctor specifically said if I was a boy he wouldn't have bothered stitching but a girl can't have scars on her face *while he was stitching my forehead back together*. I had to fight to be allowed to cut my long hair. I had to fight to be allowed to take care of it by myself.
I have needed to leave relationships when I realized I was with a man that would hurt me for his gain. I've been assaulted by my peers for being a black woman or a black girl in a space that I was not wanted.
I was raised with the expectation that I would be a mother to a large family with a husband that kept me pregnant and likely staying at home like a typical tradwife. I was punished, physically, mentally, emotionally, socially for rejecting that life. I lost literally all my social group from before I came out. I lost a good chunk of family members too, and the ones I have left are... trying, but not perfect.
And:
Other marginalized men are also often denied access to these things either. White men might be paid more, but white women make more than men of any other race. White men might be hired more, but "Rachel" is more likely to get a call back than "Rafael". White men are more likely to be in a STEM position, but tell me when the last time you saw a Native doctor. It may have been *legal* for racially marginalized men to vote, but those who did not speak English had no ability to do so until 45 years *after* white women had the right to vote (and technically it took another 10 years for translations to actually be provided). Banks and credit companies and driver's tests and mortgage brokers and more are *known* to discriminate, between barely-legal remnants of redlining to outright illegal discrimination because they know they can get away with it.
Black and Native children are taken from their birth families and placed into foster care and adoptive homes daily due to state-sponsered genocide. It's more than just the mother that's affected by this. Black men are largely targeted by stop-and-frisk policing policies that exist to do nothing except harass and assault them for just existing in a place, and are an extreme body violation.
New studies show that men experience rape and domestic violence at roughly the equivilant rate as women, but reporting is obscenely low due to social pressures and rigid gendering of victim vs abuser policies. The demographic with the highest rate of murder victims is black men.
Single, childless adult men are not allowed to immigrate to multiple countries, including the US, on refugee status. Men of marginalized races- largely latine and asian- are trafficked by largescale construction companies and then deported or abandoned when no longer needed.
Disabled men are killed or abandoned regularly by their able-bodied partners who got tired of dealing with them.
I know more than one man who feels trapped into a place where he cannot, ever, show any emotion besides horny, hungry, or angry as a direct result of strict gender roles being pushed on him. I know more than one man who has tried to take his own life because of it.
I know more than one man who has succeeded.
And I gotta be honest the further I get in transition and the more I pass the more I think that being a man... also kinda sucks. Like it sucked when I was a woman. Doesn't really feel like it sucks less as a man. Seems to me like society treats both of these pretty poorly and I was told the grass was way greener on this side and it's, uh, not. Not really. Not when you start making cis male friends and start realizing that a lot of these guys had a lot of the same experiences you grew up being told was part of a woman's life.
And I'm not saying that these guys don't have interactions where life is better for them because they're men. Of course they do. That's patriarchy for you. But I do think it's difficult to have a "male privilege" argument when people try to argue on a 1-to-1 basis and it just straight up doesn't work like that.
And I know a lot of what I'm saying ties back to the theory of intersectionality, that this can't flatten nuance like this is directly tied to the fact that a white woman, a native woman, an asian woman, a black man, a latino man, and an arabic man, are all going to have WILDLY different experiences that you can't just "well you're [gender] so you don't experience [harm]" about because it's blatantly untrue. Especially if you continue to add marginalizations, like immigration status, religion, sexuality, transition, language, and more.

Random Headcanons from Random Characters in 'The Girl in IT' Pt. 1 - Joel
Tumblr media
I'm breaking this into parts because my Headcanon lists are pretty extensive - this doesn't even break the surface for the ones I have about Joel. These are just the better ones, iykwim. Let me know if you would be interested in Sugar's list!
Ever since Joel moved into his new home (that he built himself), he goes to the farmers market on the weekend to buy Sunflower bouquets to put around the house, and he smiles every time he sees them on his dining table. This is the house he builds for Sugar - as mentioned in Pt. 4 "Gooey", to be explained further in 'Love, Joel' Pt. 3.
Joel, a self-proclaimed bad cook, took night classes to learn how to cook. Ellie doesn't like to eat fast food and always wants quality time with The Millers, so Joel made it a priority to learn for her. Sarah teases him about how it worked out for the best - now he can impress Sugar with his culinary skills. He's pretty good at it, because he's meticulous with most things in his life.
He goes to therapy - in solidarity to Sugar, who has gone to therapy for her entire life. It has helped him tremendously and is the reason why he eventually adopts Ellie.
Even if Joel has waited for Sugar for ten years, it doesn't mean that he didn't date - he did, and hated every moment of it. None of the women people tried to set him up with held a candle to Sugar, and he felt terrible for even considering another relationship every time.
He's a boxer briefs kind of guy.
He sings and dances in the shower. He uses a combination of Pandora Radio and Spotify - Ellie curates all of his playlists, including cover art.
The chambray shirt he wore to Sugar's birthday when she turned 26 is the same shirt he wore for her when she turned 36. In fact, he bought it at the TJ Maxx, just for her.
Sugar would write Joel little post it notes when she would give him things like water and lunch when he worked on her family's roof - and he kept every. single. one.
Joel is a reluctant millionaire - even if he worked his ass off, he's still pretty humble with the things he spends his money on (with the exception of Sugar). He drives an F-150, wears the same flannel shirts he's had for years, and uses the first iPad pro model - the big one- to redline construction documents. The one thing he does splurge on is instruments - buying anything Ellie asks for at the Guitar Center without the bat of an eye.
Speaking of guitars, Joel learned how to play Sugar's favorite song - 'Silver Springs' by Fleetwood Mac.
Joel keeps his hair long and curly just because of the one time Sugar commented on how he looks "dashing - like Don Juan" once in passing. The first movie they watched together was "Don Juan DeMarco". He also learned how to play 'Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman' by Bryan Adams and played it for Sugar. This is the moment she realized she loved him.
Joel has one tattoo, a small sunflower on his hand - where Pedro has his bullseye. It's the same place where sugar kissed when he nicked himself fixing their roof.
The song Joel sang for Sugar:

SYNOPSIS - On New Year’s Eve, a special boy explains his wish for the new year. A new year with their perfect partner in it…
CW - gn!reader, mentions of dying (as a joke), mention of devil fruit abilities, alcohol, Law being a lil’ OOC.
A/N - Merry Christmas! Here’s a little Law for the most joyous time of the year.
Tumblr media
The surgeon of death isn’t one to celebrate these silly traditions.
He’s a serious guy, so when his crew excitedly wanted to do the New Year’s wishes, he was hesitant.
But overall agreed because they were exceedingly persistent-
His wishes consisted of the normal things: Wanting a nice new year, some material desires, not having to worry about dying every other day on the Redline.
To everyone’s surprise, his greatest wish for the year was to be more open.
Not just to his crew, but also
To you. His beloved partner.
“Attention, attention! I do believe our captain has something to say!”
Sachi announces, roughly tapping a glass of alcohol while the gaze of the crew falls on the perfectly annoyed captain. He rubbed his forehead, muttering something under his breath along the lines of: ‘You’ve got to be kidding me… I’m gonna shambles his head off later…”
The night was young with drinks clinked and happy chatter all around. This New Years was Law’s first proper one in a while. Everyones idea of a good night was food and booze. His was dead silence and calmness until the next morning.
Unfortunately for him, he caved when seeing his first mate’s puppy eyes. So, here he was, sitting at a crowded table, wondering when was the best time to jump off his ship.
Thankfully he had you. You- who sat next to him, laughing their head off while he sent you tiring looks.
“Ok- OK! I’ll say something…” He says, standing up and awkwardly holding his glass. “To a new year. As for the circumstances that Sachi and Penguin put me in, I guess I can tell you my wishes. 1) A year where things go to plan every once in a while. It would be nice.”
He starts. You knew who he was talking about deep down.
“2) Trying not to die every other day that we’re on the Redline. I swear you idiots are inching closer and closer to death as we speak.”
He adds, getting a sarcastic round of applause from the crew.
“And 3) Being more… open with you all, I guess. Especially with Y/N,” He says, turning his head towards you. Gaining your attention and surprise. “I know I’m not an emotional person with you. And I know you don’t expect me to be openly loving. But… I want to try, at least. For you. It’s a new year, why not give it a chance. Just for you, though.”
The night ended off with a bang. It felt as if the sounds stopped, like it was just Law and you. What he said made your heart pang, a feeling of happiness coming over you. Never would you have guessed Law for such a sap for you.
But… you weren’t complaining.

We're probably gonna let Graham have all the time he needs to like do all of Monument Mythos but also so the rest of us can have some time to try and remember like.... Legitimately anything we've ever watched
Also we are looking into adding some non-horror things into the future schedule so that beloved mutuals who are horror-averse are able to join in occasionally
