Cartoon Network, why?

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment in the United States should never release a complete DVD set of Regular Show this summer because I wanted Time Squad & other Cartoon Network shows in my childhood to be released on DVD, Billy & Mandy was the show I grew up with.

It’s rather odd that Inspector Spacetime: The Movie was released on VHS in the States in 2000, five years after it was broadcast,

but Australian Inspectators had to wait until 2010 to obtain a DVD of the film.

Way to start July!

This was something we look forward to aside from our graduation march last month. I even bought a film camera to document our travel just to feel like it was the 90s lol. I'll tell you about the film cam some other time.

My friend wants to celebrate his birthday in his dad's hometown, Pangasinan. It was our first time visiting this coastal province which is situated in the northwestern part of Luzon. It has been called 'The Northern Gate' because of its strategic position. The town derived its name from the word 'asin' (translation: salt) because of the rich and fine salt beds found here.  The name “Pangasinan” means 'place of salt-making' or 'where salt is made' (source: https://www.pangasinan.gov.ph/the-province/about-pangasinan/).

It took us 4 hours to travel from Manila to Pangasinan which is perfect if you're looking for a weekend getaway. And you won't get bored as long as you sing along with Regine, Lady Gaga, and Rihanna. I've been to Pangasinan before because of my uncle's wedding and only visited Hundred Islands. But you know second time's a charm.

On our first day, we visited Hundred Islands, National Park. Our day tour consists of visiting Pilgrimage Island, swimming in refreshing blue-green water on Children's Island, and sightseeing on Governor's Island.

If you want a nice and calm beach for the family and kids, there's Bolo Beach in Alaminos. Bolo was breathtaking for us. Staying there really took our minds off the bustling work lives we have. It's unfortunate that we didn't witness the sunset because of the rainy weather.

Now if you're into exciting parts *wink*, you can visit Bolinao Waterfalls described as 'a hidden gem' since you have to drive down a long path and data connection is 1 to nothing. Don't worry there are guides and locals that will help you reach your destination. You also have to pay for entrance and environmental fees before you get there.

In Bolinao, they have not just one but three falls. Bolinao 1 is the nearest and has the highest waterfall. Not far away from 1 is Bolinao 2 with a wider basin while Bolinao 3 is the combination of both. We mistook Bolinao 3 for Bolinao 1. Though we want to experience cliff diving, I think it's okay we went to 3 since it's our first time jumping into falls. So, if you have fear of heights or want to practice cliff diving, 3 is good. It's also family-friendly since it's wider, has shallow rocks, and is shaded by trees.

📌Folks, just a reminder that if you swim either in the sea or lakes, don't go without wearing a personal flotation device (PFD) or life jacket especially if you're not a strong swimmer like me. Also, check the risk of the natural waters and never swim alone. Don't take that one chance. This is a realization after jumping in the falls. It's fascinating how you appreciate life with things like this.

The last location we visited is Patar Beach. It has pure white sand like Boracay and the water is clear. But we didn't enjoy our swimming because of the big tides and rocks. It's like the complete opposite of Bolo. But if you're looking for a beach photoshoot, this place is good. It also has many resorts to choose from if you want to stay here.

Now, here's a picture of my friends pushing the car we used to go to Pangasinan. It's weird because our car stopped running right before we leave for Manila so we end up staying another night. It stopped running again when we arrived exactly at our drop-off place. I think it has something to do with offering drinks at Bolo. Yes, there's a tradition that if you're going to Bolo, you have to offer a drink by pouring it out into the sea.
