The eras tour is honestly insanely unfair I know Americans that are coming to Europe to see the show because they didn't have the chance in the US they couldn't get the tickets and the now when they try to buy them they are sold at a price that is way higher than what buying even the VIP tickets in Europe plus the trip plus the staying in Europe would be to them. And then I constantly see people from the American fandom gloating about having already been to multiple American date, having bought European tickets and still attending the second leg of the american tour

Yeah… at the end of the day it’s nobody’s fault but it sucks.

It sucks for European fans that so many Americans are coming here and “stealing” tickets (25% of all the tickets sold for the Paris concerts were sold to Americans!!!!), but, at the same time, as you said, the market in the US is not as regulated and the result is that for so many fans who are yet to see her live it’s less expensive to come to Paris than it would be to buy from a reseller for an autumn date in the US/Canada. I’ve also read accounts from people who attended other shows (Lisbon, Dublin…) who said that they met tons of Americans inside. And, again, maybe some of them have already attended shows in the US, but probably a lot of them have not, and they’re just coming here because it’s cheaper (which is crazy but true). And I don’t have a problem with that.

And honestly when it comes to London or Dublin it’s non that big of a deal if American fans come, imo, even if they’ve already seen the show, because she’s toured there for rep and 1989 and Red and SN too. But like… Lisbon or Stockholm or Warsaw or Vienna or Zurich, for example: they’re in countries she’s never ever visited. And Paris/Milan/Madrid are places she last visited in 2011. How do you not feel guilty attending one or more concerts in the US and then coming to one of these places?

Getting really tired of Swifties claiming that Taylor has always been popular globally and mocking people for claiming her popularity has always been “local”. They conveniently forget that for most of her career she avoided performing in places like South America and when she did a concert in Dublin during Rep tour there were headlines discussing how she couldn’t fill seats. It’s annoying seeing them rewrite history so they can rub her success in other people’s faces. Then again, what else is new?

my observation is that she's only really been popular in the US, and then gained some international support after venturing into pop, but only because it was pop. like, not because it was of substance or particularly amazing. it was just upbeat and available. now, she's only holding so much influence all of the sudden because of the pandemic. people are just desperate for a break and something to be happy about. people who didn't even like taylor or her music until 2020 are posting about going to the eras tour and "reliving their childhood" or something about nostalgia, and it's like...she doesn't even go here? what are you talking about? people are just at a low rn and taylor is filling the void. they'll get over it.

Thank you for answering!! That’s really helpful! Yeah people on tiktok were like “thank GOD I secured presale back in October and have a code” and I was like wtf do you mean have a code????? Like I have seen Taylor 3 times before in Dublin like I’ve been a fan since forever but since I always went through general sale because demand was never so high so I’m just like… clueless when it comes to presale and out of the loop and kinda annoyed about it lol!! Like I’ve used presale for other artists but there’s usually a few options like going through seated or like being a 3 phone customer for the 3 arena etc, but I’ve never used verified fan before or anything like that so I’m just like :( because I saw people saying that was the one chance at presale and stuff but like hopefully more info comes out because it’s making me feel like kinda :/ because it’s one of those situations where you just want to know what the hells going on! Thanks again for the answer!!!

no problem! yeah it's like a totally different thing to navigate this time, with rep tour I got my tickets a month before the show and there were still ones available on the day of so the whole battling it out in presale experience is a new one. and it doesn't help that obviously after everything went so badly with the US leg tickets we don't really know how this is going to work still. hopefully when we get the tour dates there will be clearer info on who can access presale and stuff and until then I guess we just wait and hope for the best!

I really don’t think some of the newer fans realize just how insanely popular she’s gotten in the last two/three years.

For example: the rep tour was formally sold out, yeah, but the truth is that it was way easier to get a ticket, and in some places (like Dublin) they gave away TONS of tickets FOR FREE (through radio contests or even at people’s workplaces) because the stadium wasn’t sold out. There are a lot of stories of people getting free tickets or buying tickets very close to the date and still finding them. I’ve never read the story of someone who wanted to attend the rep tour (at least in the countries she visited and had a few dates in) and couldn’t. I’m sure there are a few people! But the truth is that she just wasn’t that sought after. So famous! But still attainable.

It’s crazy to see the difference with what’s going on right now.
