how do you make your (edits/gifs/etc)?

for silly edits usually just picsart, but procreate for the more intense ones. gifs i use a yt downloader site, then capcut to edit, then ezgif. videos either splice or capcut. glitters i made a tutorial here, but like, my method is really complicated since i’m always on my phone, so there’s probably an easier way if you have a pc…

can you make a gif/edit/glitter of this?

probably! be specific with what you want— send me pictures or direct links if you can. requests are always open, just keep in mind i may not do every single one i get (but i do tend to do them all eventually).

why didn’t you answer my ask yet?

sometimes i see an ask pop up in my activity feed so i answer it right away. otherwise it has to wait til i decide to open my inbox. if it’s an ask that requires some time, like asking about lore or builds or opinions, it’ll probably take me longer to get to. i’m a busy guy, i work 13 hour shifts irl and have chronic hand tendonitis which makes typing hard. ofc if you’re worried tumblr ate your ask, you’re fine to send another, just please don’t be rude or pushy about it, i promise i’ll get around to it ^^;

Do you have any advice on how to start an rp blog? I feel like there's so much to do and so many specific things, it looks intimidating, but I really want to get into it (and your blog seems like a safe space to ask as a baby in the matter)

Hi! Thanks you for asking and for trusting. I do admit that rping on tumblr can look daunting and there is a series of things that are considered “etiquette” that might not be obvious for newcomers. And the only way to learn is to ask, right? As I’m not sure if you would like something more specific or a step-by-step, I’m going to go through the whole process.

note: this is a repost from an ask in a more reblog-friendly format

1. Setting up the blog

You might want to make a new e-mail account for each blog you want. I recommend making a gmail/google account, so you may be able to use other services and associate them with your blog. I’ll go into more details in a minute.

Some people would rather have a personal blog and then making the RP blog as a side-blog. Or a “hub” blog and many side-blogs so they have everything centralized. The downside is that you can’t follow people with side-blogs, only the main – and some rpers are a little suspicious of personal blogs, so if you intend to go this route it might be a good idea to state somewhere in your blog that you have a RP blog.

Tip : It isn’t said too often, but I recommend saving your blog’s e-mail and password somewhere, maybe a flashdrive or even google drive. This way, if something happens you will be able to retrieve your account.

When picking the URL, for a very long time tumblr had problems tagging URLs with a hyphen ( - ). I’m not sure if it has been fixed or if there are still some issues, so I recommend only using letters and maybe numbers. Other than that, pick anything that sounds nice to you!

Themes are nice, but not entirely necessary. Not everybody has photoshop skills and all that. Some people do have commissioned themes, but if you want to try your hand at it my first stop is usually @theme-hunter or @sheathemes . They reblog many themes from many creators, so there are always many options that might suit your needs. Some creators offer very newcomer-friendly themes that you can configure a lot of things without much hassle but some might require basic HTML knowledge – a few creators have guides on how to properly set up their themes and are willing to and answer questions, so don’t be afraid to contact them! You can also send me an ask, I’m not a specialist but I can certainly help walk you through the basics.

Tip: @glenthemes have very good themes and a basic installation guide here.

When fiddling with the options, try to pick colors that have nice contrast and are easy to read. If you are bad at picking colors or have problems in finding the code for them, I recommend trying this link. There is also this one that auto-generate palettes.

Tip : If you mess with your theme, remember there is the Theme Recovery.

Tip: If you use Chrome or Firefox you can set up different profiles and associate each with a different blog, so you don’t need to log out from any of your accounts.

There are two pages that I recommend having: one is an about your muse. If they are an OC, it is always a good idea to have at least some information out there to make things easier. If they are from a canon source, not everybody is familiar with the material so it might be a good idea to state. For example, if you are going to roleplay as Altria/Arturia, it is a good idea to have a “RP blog for Saber (Altria Pendragon) from FGO/FSN “ somewhere visible. The other page that is a good idea having is a rules/guidelines page. This one can be a little intimidating, but it is usually a way to communicate important things. For example: are you comfortable writing violence? Do you have any personal triggers? There is something you absolutely won’t write? There are things you may figure out along the way and it is absolutely ok to fine-tune this session every now and then. Some people also credit source for their icons and graphics in general in their rule/guideline page.

If you are using the tumblr default themes, when you create a new page you can turn on the option to show a link to the page. If you are using a custom theme, most of the time you will have to link it manually.

Oh, and if you are planning to do a multimuse, it might be a good idea to list which muses you have. The same goes for a hub blog; list the muses and link to the pages.

Icons aren’t necessary but are considered commonplace. You can find some icons I’ve done here but there are plenty of other sources. If you want to do your own icons, keep in mind to don’t make them too big, as a courtesy to your mutuals.

Tip: Anything larger than 300 pixels will be stretched to fit the post. As of today ( 4/29/2021 ) the posts are currently 540 pixels wide. This can be useful as making banners for your blog.

Tumblr allow users to “pin” posts. This mean that they will always visible if you access your blog, even on dash/mobile. You can use this to set up a post with basic links for mobile users or something else. For example, if you are out on vacations and won’t be able to do replies, you can pin a hiatus notice and then remove the pin once you are back.

2. Introducing yourself

Time to officially join the fun! (insert a “Hi, Zuko here” joke) Don’t worry if you don’t have a fancy promo graphic or anything, most people make their initial introduction with a simple post.

Try to introduce yourself in a few lines, but make sure to state which muse you RP as. Some people also like adding their pen name/alias and establishing a brand. Follow as many people as you want that reblogged or liked your post, and tumblr is going to start recommending other blogs that are related to the tags you use normally or have any relation to the people you follow. You can put as many tags as you want, but tumblr will disregard more than 6 tags in their system. Try tags like “<fandom> rp” and “<fandom> roleplay” along with the media, such as “movie” “video game”, “anime” and so on.

It might also be a good idea to follow a few RP memes blogs. They often have options to break the ice, like one-liners that your mutual can send you.

Tip: Don’t forget to turn on the asks and the anon

3. Practical advice

Alright, now that you have a few mutuals, it is time to get to some general tips:

Tumblr can be a little “iffy”, and a great quality of life extension for RPers and navigation in general is installing the New Xkit extension. They offer a number of options to enhance your tumblr experience, but the ones I consider essential are the “editable reblogs”, “quick tags” and “blacklist”. Get it for Chrome or Firefox.

As a rule of thumb I recommend writing your RPs using Google Docs before posting or replying. By doing this you can do some spell check and if your browser crashes for any reason you can easily recover your work. You can also use Word, Open Office, or any text editor you feel like.

Because I’m a bit of a perfectionist, I also have Grammarly ( Chrome / Firefox ) installed for an extra layer of spell/grammar check. There is a subscription option, but the free one works perfectly fine.

To make things easier to locate, always tag the URL of your RP partner when doing a reply. There are other useful things you can tag, such as open starters, memes, and such.

Risking being obvious here, but when you are not interacting as your character it might be a good idea to tag as “ooc” or “out of character”.

Some people like making google docs with basic info and other useful stuff for easier access on mobile. It is a recent trend, it might be easier to edit as opposed to going through tumblr page editor and dealing with the HTML. You can find some templates here and here.

Tumblr’s activity can be unreliable, so don’t be afraid of contacting your partner to see if they have gotten your reply after a few weeks. However, some people also enjoy using the RP Thread Tracker in order to be on top of things. It might be a good idea to check it out.

Because of Tumblr shadowbanning and shenanigans, it isn’t unusual for people to have NSFW sideblogs (sometimes referred as ‘sin blogs’). If you want to write smut, it might be a good idea to consider making one.

Some people don’t like replying to asks, as Tumblr won’t let you remove the initial ask. It has become common to see people making new posts to reply to asks. This is a simple example:

As you can see, I used the mention to have the RP partner notified then I copied and pasted their question on my post and used the quote to indicate it. You can also have fancy graphics, like a line to separate the contents, just do whatever you feel like with the formatting or keep it simple.

To make sure your partner got the answer, I recommend copying the link to the post and pasting on the ask and then replying it privately. An example sent to my rp blog:

4. Basic Etiquette

Ok, this is a little subjective most of the time but here are a few things that are considered universal courtesy.

Never reblog someone else’s headcanons. If you enjoy it, maybe it should politely contact the author and ask if it is ok to write something based on their original idea but you should never downright copy or lift something from another creator. It is considered rude, or even theft in some cases.

Don’t reblog threads you are not involved with. It is ok to leave a like, but never reblog. This is because Tumblr can mess up the notifications and disrupt the flow of the RP.

Don’t copy other people’s graphics. It is very rude and sometimes they commission (aka: paid) for it.

Trim your posts. What does that mean? Every time you reblog with a reply, the post tends to get longer and longer, and it can cluster your and your mutuals’ dashes. This is why the New X-Kit’s “editable reblogs” is an almost must-have tool. If for some reason you can’t install X-Kit (if you are on mobile for example), then remove the previous post or ask your partner to trim for you.

Never take control of your RP partner’s muse. This is called “godmodding” and it is heavily frowned upon. It is ok to control your muse and the possible NPCs that you inserted, but never seize someone else’s character. Likewise, it can also be very upsetting if you use what people call “meta-gaming”, applying knowledge that your muse shouldn’t know about the other. For example, let’s say your RP partner’s muse is a vampire, but they have never disclosed that information to your muse, who also doesn’t have an excuse to know that (for example, being a vampire hunter) so it can be quite jarring sometimes. When in doubt, contact your partner.

This should go without saying, but RPing sexual themes with users under the age of 18 are illegal. It doesn’t matter if the age of consent in your location is lower, once you join Tumblr you are abiding by their user guidelines and the law of the state they are located in. If you are an adult, don’t engage minors with these topics, maybe a fade to black would be a better option. If you are a minor, don’t insist or you might cause a lot of legal problems for others.

Try to tag anything triggering. Violence, gore, NSFW. Both Tumblr and the New Xkit have options to block keywords.

When picking PSDs or graphics for your blog, you should avoid templates that change the color of the skin of POCs muses and try to pick the right race/ethnicity of the muse you are going to RP as. I won’t go through a lot of details, as it is a rather lengthy subject in an already lengthy conversation but keep this in the back of your mind.

Some RPers don’t like when you reblog memes from them without sending anything. Try to always reblog from a source or to interact with the person you are reblogging from, it can be rather disheartening to be seen as a meme source rather than a RP blog. This isn’t a rule and some people don’t mind, but it is always a good idea to try to do this.

This might be more of a pet peeve of mine than proper etiquette, but it is ok to use small font. What is not ok is use small font + underscript. Some people have disabilities that might make it harder for them to read it, so it might be a good idea to refrain from using it. Maybe if you feel like doing something fancier every now and then, but I wouldn’t recommend making this a habit.

Mun and Muse are different entities. Remember that it isn’t because a muse does something (especially a villain one) that the mun condones something. Never assume anything about the mun, when in doubt talk to them.

Be mindful of your partners and treat them the way you would like to be treated.

As a rule of thumb, always talk to your RP partner. It is only fun as long both of you are enjoying it.

5. Closing Words

This got longer than I expected.

Despite all of that, don’t be too worried about not being very good at first. I assure you that you will get better with time, so don’t be afraid of experimenting as long you feel comfortable. And don’t be afraid of saying “no” if something bothers you.

Fill out & repost! This meme definitely favors canons more, but I hope OC’s still can make it somehow work with their own lore, and lil’ fandom of friends & mutuals. Multi-Muses pick the muse you are the most invested in atm.

My muse is: canon / oc / au / canon-divergent / fandomless /

Is your character popular in the fandom? YES / NO / I’m more inclined towards yes, but I’ve seen both extremes in regard to the character - some people actually hate him with a passion.

Is your character considered hot™ in the fandom? YES / NO / IDK. I remember I used to get pretty weird anons commenting about how hot he was - and this wasn’t just the standard ‘oh he’s attractive’ kind of stuff, it got into some er, fetishes, so I guess some people really do find him attractive? I personally find him more cute than anything.

Is your character considered strong in the fandom? YES / NO / I’d say middle ground? Physically, yes?

Are they underrated? YES / NO. / In my opinion he is?

Were they relevant for the main story? YES / NO. / The beginning part and the cruise ship dungeon, I’d say?

Were they relevant for the main character? YES / NO / UM I HOPE SO.

Are they widely known in their world? YES / NO. / Does his negative reputation among his classmates count? Or his reputation as Skull?

How’s their reputation? GOOD / BAD / NEUTRAL / I think bad is fair ‘cause not all people automatically view the Phantom Thieves as good.

How strictly do you follow canon?

I would say I stay pretty faithful to him and his storyline in the game - when I do make alterations, I make it pretty clear that it’s alternate universe sort of stuff. For me, his canon begins and ends at the start and the end of the game - which I try to adhere to. Anything before or after that is fair game, as far as I’m concerned and if Atlus were to ever elaborate on his backstory or make like an Arena scenario where he’s older, I would try to adhere to that too.

SELL YOUR MUSE! Aka try to list everything, which makes your muse interesting in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutuals.

He’s kind, he’s loyal, he’s positive, he’s passionate - he’s the total cheerleader best friend and he’s very outgoing, the sort of person you would want to have as a friend - or I would. Definitely someone who wouldn’t hesitate to jump into the fray and fight alongside you. He’d be encouraging you to be adventurous, try new things, be the best you that you can be - and he’d help you every step of the way and will keep it real with you, even to the point of brutal honesty.

Now the OPPOSITE, list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?)

I think he could very easily come off as bossy or overbearing and maybe even though it comes from a good place, he could come off as a bit pushy when it comes to trying to motivate others to be their best selves. I also think he’s loud and can’t really keep a secret - not that he would ever blab it, but maybe not the guy you want to gossip to? He’s also blunt to the point of rudeness and I could see people viewing him as way too high energy and too exhausting to be friends with.

What inspired you to RP your muse?

I remember seeing screenshots of him before the release of the game and I thought his look was just so unique and cool and I thought ‘this is a guy who is not afraid to be himself’ He’s utterly shameless and won’t apologize for any of it In a way, he’s kind of like the ‘ideal friend’ for someone like me, a good counterbalance.

What keeps your inspiration going?

Mostly day to day life stuff - could be anything, trying a new hobby, cooking stuff. I tend to find the small stuff more rewarding to write as opposed to full blown heists. My number one interest here has always been meeting other muns and muses and learning more about them.

Some more personal questions for the mun.

Give your mutuals some insight about the way you are in some matters, which could lead them to get more comfortable with you or perhaps not.

Do you think you give your character justice? YES / NO. / I feel like I can’t really answer this without coming off biased but I mean I hope so??

Do you frequently write headcanons? YES / NO.

Do you sometimes write drabbles? YES / NO.

Do you think a lot about your Muse during the day? YES / NO. / It;s more that I think of possible scenarios, instead.

Are you confident in your portrayal? YES / NO. / Middle ground, I’d say.

Are you confident in your writing? YES / NO / Ehh, it comes and goes.

Are you a sensitive person? YES / NO. / Not in regards to writing or taking criticism I don’t think, but maybe more real life?

Do you accept criticism well about your portrayal?

I feel like it depends, if someone just sends me an ask being like ‘hey i don’t like your ryuji’ then that doesn’t really do much for me. For me, I feel like it would help if you would tell me what you don’t like. Do you feel like I don’t capture his dialogue or his mannerisms? Like I kind of need an idea of what I’m doing wrong before I can fix it, otherwise if nobody tells me, then I assume that I’m doing okay - not to say that I think I’m perfect, but it does help when people bring things to your attention, things that you may not even notice yourself.

Do you like questions, which help you explore your character?

Yes, I love answering questions - and it’s fun to think of how Ryuji thinks and try to get into his headspace!

If someone disagrees to a headcanon of yours, do you want to know why?

I’m a writer and a roleplayer - it’s not my job to try and convince others that my Ryuji is ‘canon’ - if you feel like he’s totally different from your vision, that’s completely fine and I don’t want to try and persuade people otherwise. You’re free to disagree with my headcanons and my portrayal.

If someone disagrees with your portrayal, how would you take it?

Again, it’s not really my job to convince people - I would assume that if people don’t like the way I’m writing him, they would do as I do and quietly unfollow me.

If someone really hates your character, how do you take it?

I mean I’m totally fine with muns coming to me and saying things they don’t like about him - in a sense it’s almost like constructive criticism and I think that’s good, but if someone’s just like ‘hey i really hate ryuji he’s the worst’ or I also don’t really like the people who compare him to Kamoshida because of a few scenes where he ogles Ann? The ogling itself is another debate entirely but please don’t come to my blog and try to compare Ryuji to an actual pedophile and r*pist, thanks.

Are you okay with people pointing out your grammatical errors?

Yep, always room to improve!

Do you think you are easy going as a mun?

I think so? I have my off days and I try to be approachable - if I have an issue with someone it’s worked out in private and with the utmost care and politeness.

The focus of this blog!

So this blog is a mish mash of a couple different themes, but above all it is an adult oriented Invader Zim fan blog!! I grew up with the show and and was a BIG fan during highschool, and after rediscovering it this year I have been DAZZLED and DELIGHTED by the fan content being produced today!! I have a deeply nostalgic yet completely new perspective on the show now that I’m in my 20s, so alongside of celebrating iz content and fan content in general, this blog will center around my niche fave: the iz cast + millennial culture! in other words, the characters depicted as if they lived in the real world and aged in real time! I loved and related to the characters as a kid, and I still love them dearly to this day, so to see people experiment with character interpretations and create adult versions of them means I can still relate to them even now, and even make my own versions! and as a queer neurodivergent millennial who loves niche culture, my favorite versions of the characters are queer neurodivergent millennials who love niche culture!! And of course the other main theme which fits into the first: ZADR! while I don’t ship Zim and Dib as they’re canonically presented in the show, I DO adore the idea of the two growing up together, eventually becoming friends, and eventually falling in love. I’m a Big Gay and I love romance and lgbt content, and ZADR holds such a soft place in my heart 😭 I wrote a big post about why I love it so much which you can see here if you’re curious about my interpretation of the ship!

- POSITIVE CONTENT! IZ is my comfort content and I deeply admire the positive impact the show has had on so many people. I also interpret Zim and Dib as having hard lives and mental problems but eventually recovering and finding happiness (and making each other happy!!). I do also love vent content and gritty/dark themes from an artistic standpoint (and of course comedic Depression™ memes) but I will be focusing much more on comforting and uplifting content!

- character development/relationships, fluff, comedy, domestic content, daily life, sci fi, conspiracy/cryptid content, fashion portraits and camp horror!! these are my favorite themes!!

- friendship, romance, and found family!! I adore the relationships between the characters and they ALL DESERVE LOVE!!!!! JHONEN CAN BITE MY ASS

- the IZ creators!! speaking of Jhonen LOL I LOVE seeing content about the creators themselves!! I genuinely have such affection and admiration for the wonderful people who brought and continue to bring the world of IZ to life, they are such amazing and inspiring human beings and I will be celebrating them alongside their creations!!

- IZ characters + aesthetics!! some of my MOST favorite IZ content depicts the characters being stylized with or sporting the fashion of vaporwave, goth, grunge, pastel, spacecore, cryptidcore, future funk, 90s disastercore and any and all things strange, niche, glittery and neon, and I FUCKING LOVE IT. GOD

- and lastly, I talk a fuck of a lot, as you can probably tell by this post lol. I’ll be screaming in the tags constantly and am liable to write the occasional super long text post! for those who are into that, I invite you to have discussions with me! and for those who aren’t, feel free to ignore them!

Things I will be staying away from!

- romantic content that depicts the characters as minors AKA underage zadr!! there will be no kid ships here! I’m an adult and only enjoy shipping adult versions of the characters! kid content will be either canon, wholesome, or friendship content! while I do find adult versions of the characters attractive since they have qualities I find attractive in real life, I see the adult versions as almost completely different people since they’re so far removed from the source content, and the love I feel for the canon kids is HIGHLY maternal and very nostalgia centric. this would probably be more clear if I didn’t lump the two types of content into the same blog, but I really do love both the adult fan interpreted IZ world and the canon IZ world in equal measure, just in different ways!

- content that fetishizes or ‘yaoi’-fies gay relationships! I am a queer person and I enjoy queer content made by queer people for queer people, you’re not gonna find any “B-BUT WE’RE BOTH BOYS!” shit here 😂

- content that depicts abuse between friends or partners!! while violence is an active theme in zim and dib’s canonical relationship, I very much dislike zadr content that depicts the two being aggressive or malicious towards each other while they’re supposedly in love. complex relationships are certainly interesting, but while toxic and abusive relationships are realistic, they’re not okay and should not be romanticized. I understand some people use that kind of content to cope, but for me it’s nothing but bad feelings. sparring and play fighting is fine and good, consensual violence could be interesting to explore, but hatred will stay separate from romance on this blog.

- discourse and long conversations about negative topics! I acknowledge the importance of discussing problems within the fandom, however I wish for this blog to be a positive and comforting place, since iz content in general is positive and comforting for me! there may be an occasional post that touches on real life negative topics but overall this will be kept to a minimum.

- explicit content!! while I DO both draw and consume nsfw adult zadr content, it will not be on this blog! since tumblr decided to be idiots and remove any way for minors and people who don’t wish to see nsfw content to hide it, this blog will remain pg-13. I will also not be providing any links to my other sites because of this (I am a nsfw artist and I sell porn commissions for a living, not trying to shove that in the faces of my minor, ace and sex repulsed followers, but by all means seek out my art if you DO wish to!). similarly, I will not be releasing my nsfw zadr art publicly anywhere, since aged up characters are controversial and my career, being online, could suffer if someone wanted to use that against me. HOWEVER, for fellow adult fans with extra cash who take a shine to my art, paid content could be a possibility in the future 👀

About my content!

So since what I like to draw is usually pretty different from the show, here are the basic headcanons for my interpretations of adult Zim and Dib~! Basically they’re queer 2019 millennials who are damaged but doing their best and enjoy niche interests and subcultures. Zim is the type who’s tough to handle but it’s worth it because he’s an amazing and colorful person underneath it all and only those he’s close to get to see that, and Dib is an eccentric but completely reliable, intelligent, passionate, and loyal friend whose company is a familiar comfort and a total safe space. They live together and are mutually beneficial allies to friends to lovers!

I HAVE A FIC, or at least an idea for one lol and when using my designs for the characters, my drawings will most likely be set in its context! Affectionately nicknamed the Soft AU, it’s centered around rest, recovery, affection, care and bonding… bc I’m SOFT OKAY 😂 You can read the full summary here, but here’s the gist!

A little over a decade after arriving on earth, Zim’s banishment is reinstated and as a result his entire base and all his equipment is confiscated, leaving him stranded on Earth with no way off the planet and in danger of being caught and killed by the humans. Dib offers him a deal that he’ll hide Zim instead of turning him in in exchange for letting him study Zim. They live together in Dib’s apartment and eventually get used to each other. Loneliness induced affection ensues. Hooray!!

And now for the boys themselves!

My Dib!

- 25, 6′2″, Mexican, cis boy, bisexual, bilingual

- is recovering from depression and anxiety and has ADD and insomnia, has had a nicotine addiction

- has a ton of ear piercings and a few facial piercings, as well as a few tattoos

- is still just as obsessive about his interests as he was as a kid, just with more curbed enthusiasm due to, yknow, depression. researching Zim however brings his enthusiasm back full force. he still sucks at taking care of himself when enthralled with his work but he’s getting there

- runs various blogs, forums, and youtube channels making content about cryptids and conspiracy theories, the ad revenue of which is his main source of income (he dislikes using his father’s money to support himself, but will dip into the family account occasionally)

- is very patient and can communicate and problem solve very well, and is skilled at handling various conflicts and mental issues

- still has his ‘I hate people’ attitude but is more open minded and understanding than he used to be, and more compassionate. he has difficulty trusting strangers but his friends and family are very important to him

- can be moody and dramatic but he’s a big sweetheart at his core

- being friends with Zim has made him more willing to enjoy acting like a huge dork and total weirdo, even in public

My Zim!

- young adult, 5′5″, androgynous presenting demi boy, panromantic demisexual

- has PTSD and anxiety, is recovering with help from Dib

- displays inhuman behavior such as hissing, growling, chirring, chirping, scratching/biting, screeching, territory guarding and dominance displays

- is a demi boy, meaning he identifies as mostly but not completely male, and is more nonbinary than cis, but he’s never given it too much thought because gender is stupid. he has little to no concept and zero regard for human gender roles

- is a SHIT who’s main entertainment is annoying Dib and ‘winning’ arguments, but Dib seems to get harder to piss off as time goes on, much to his confusion

- pitches a fit when he doesn’t agree with/doesn’t want to do something but can be swayed with rewards such as food, sweets, new clothes, video games etc

- rambunctious and high energy, he gets stir crazy often, but since he hates the city he and Dib often take car trips to more fun/nicer places outside the neighborhood

- moody and bratty with skewed logic but smart and more intuitive than he used to be, he’s more than a handful to deal with, but this also makes him the most entertaining person Dib knows

- after having the free time to discover the world of aesthetics, he becomes very much into clothes, make up, accessories etc (be they masculine or feminine) and enjoys making a hobby out of creating a unique self image using fashion (thus also subconsciously asserting his individuality)

- is much more dependent on Dib than he admits (or even realizes)

- his beliefs in nationalism, fascism and genocide are direct results of brainwashing and personality altering programs run by his PAK, and are not actually part of his core personality (these programs will be overridden and deleted eventually)

Side Note: I haven’t thought as far with the other characters but my Gaz and Tak are definitely lesbians 😂

I noticed your posts stopped appearing on my dash and discovered I had been blocked. I know it’s your blog and completely your right to do it, but could you say what may get someone blocked?

Oh, sure!

I will say right off the bat- I probably am more liberal with the ‘block’ button than others would be. For 8 years now I’ve been on this site with varying degrees of involvement, and I’ve had fandoms ruined for me. After all of that I came to realize I hold the ‘mute’ button on the anti-content, so I use it.

I’m sorry if this stance upsets anyone, I just refuse to allow another fandom to be ruined for me. I still run this page with the same rules I put in place back when I had 10 followers. No matter how big this page gets, I won’t change that.

Here is what I block for:

Comments/Replies attacking a ship or character.

I don’t mean saying “I’m not a fan of this character because of _____ reasons”, I mean like really vulgar and over-the-top hate (they’re fictional characters everyone).

Comments/Replies attacking other users.

Reposting fan art in any capacity.

Spamming the tags

Like people who tag a Feysand post with “Throne of Glass” and every ship in each book.

This is more so that I can browse the tags without being bogged down by irrelevant stuff.

(Fic Specific) Commenting on my Elucien fics condemning that ship in favor of Elriel.

That’s just rude.

Leaving nasty comments to fan artists.

Anti-Maas posts or comments/replies

For posts- specifically if you tagged it “Sarah J Maas” or “Queen Maas” so fans in those tags see it.

As you may know, “recommended” posts don’t go away, even if you reblog them. I always have to click the X and then say “This post sucks” (and it doesn’t, it’s just that I”ve now seen it 15 times).

Every now and then I look away or something and accidentally hit “block” or “unfollow tag”.

Trying to control my posts/page.

A couple have been blocked for this in the past month.

This isn’t just one-time saying “You should say this instead of that”, it’s repeatedly telling me what I can and can’t post.

Those blogs were given 3-strike warnings first.

You said something sarcastic and because it’s just words on a screen the sarcasm part didn’t translate through.

My weekly purge of spam blogs who follow me.

I try to skim the URLs and block any corporate or smut blog that follows me, plus anyone still using the 4Chan spam formula

This was a huge issue a few years ago, and one I’ve always kept an eye out for.

If your main blog had no posts and had a kind of randomly generated URL, then there’s a chance I blocked it mistakenly thinking it was a spam blog.

Almost forgot to say: People being dicks about the “Catwoman: Soulstealer” book.

Sending an ask during an anon hate-spam.

I’ve been dealing with this the last 3 weeks with about a half dozen messages per day. I keep blocking, but if your ask was mixed into the middle of the daily spam then it may have been taken wrong.

I should also note– I do a lot of my day-blogging via mobile and like 2 updates ago the app was incredibly glitchy. It’d freeze and then suddenly snap to attention and next thing I know I’ve blocked a dozen+ people.

I hope that helped clear anything up? If your URL was blocked by mistake just let me know and I will un-block it no problem. Even if you did do something on the list (other than fan art theft) I will probably give you a 2nd chance.

Who the heck is my muse anyway:

Since I am a multimuse blog, implying that I have more than one muse, I’ll introduce my main gal: Salice Feltracco, aka my so-far most prized OC. Long story short, she’s the protagonist of a novel of mine.

A cynical, stone-faced, generally apathetic and indifferent lawyer who has begun working indipendently since a couple of years; Salice is a woman that comes off as stoic and perhaps even rude, as a result of her bluntness and generally brutal honesty. She doesn’t easily warm up to people, but when she does, her actual interests easily pop out, and they’re of a great variety; insects, 80′s goth fashion and magic being a few of them. The latter is seemingly the most prominent passion, seeing as... she’s a witch! A necromancer, to be exact.

As a necromancer she offers a specific service that grants her a fluid and constant influx of money; in exchange for a payment, she resurrects people’s loved one for a restricted period of time. This sort of process is a fruitful thriving market, effective enough that it managed to pay off her years at university (which were a lot) and that allows her to mantain now a 800$ apartment.

TL;DR she is a wealthy emotionless necromancer with a passion for ants.

Points of interest:

What’s most noticeable about her is her attitude, that comes off as completely uncaring of everything surrounding her. Though she is efficient, her coworkers deem her poise quite strange, especially due to her very short-lived but intense outbursts that sometimes happen. Other than that, her lifestyle, if you don’t know her, appears entirely average.

For friends and alike, it may be peculiar how she so casually gets involved in mindless street fights, and how her schedule is so incredibly busy despite not spending that much time in the office.

What they’ve been up to recently:

My blog doesn’t really follow a plotline; it just goes along a general flows in which some of the muses here are interconnected through an acquaitanceship, exception made for a couple of them. As far as I am concerned, Salice in particular hasn’t gone through any special development, but there are a few interesting relationships & threads I have going on with @carnivorarium and @thmaniac especially; though in different scenarios and plotlines, Salice has been having some curious interactions with Yamai and Johnny respectively.

As for the casual threads, nothing much! She always works and works and works, between law and necromancy. Sometimes she spends time reading books / watching documentaries about ants or insects.

Where to find them:

Her most common location is, of course, her office---Feltracco & Owen law studies---which she shares with her friend and colleague Allen. There she generally handles work (divorces, mainly) and also spends free time doing crossword puzzles or mindlessly watching videos on her computer.

Other places where you can find her:

the café, not much distant from the apartment complex where the studios are located: she’s there during lunch break and after work, if eventual case files need refinement or if she ought to do more research on her PC while drinking some coffee or eating some random sandwich;

suburbs pubs and nightclubs, where she can hang around lively teenagers and observe them as she drinks and does her own thing, or where she can feel a little alive by engaging in random street fights;

graveyards, which she visits not only for work but also for personal peace of mind;

and finally her apartment, which is the place where she can completely be herself. The latter is usually devoid of visitors, however. If you’re invited there, you can consider yourself a friend.

Current plans:

In the RP world, none whatsoever! Salice for now is as indipendent as a character could get. Aside from the aforementioned thread with Cirque’s character Yamai (which I actually need to figure out where it happens on the “official” blog timeline), there’s no specific arc plans for her, nor for anyone on this blog actually. They each have their own stories & comics & games they’ll possibly be in one day, but in roleplay they don’t have anything written down. Unless someone wishes to help me do that! I do want to notice that here, development comes only and explicitly with interaction between muses.

Desired interactions:

If I might be honest, any interaction is more or less desired. I have a wishlist tag here, but specifically for Salice I don’t exactly have a... specific idea... I just want her to develop all sorts of relationships and want her to experience a various amount of things; I suppose that since she has a more-or-less psychological serious emotional blockage, it’d be fun to have her slowly break that wall of hers down, whether be it romantically or through other emotions.

That, or it’d be fun to explore the grotesque, sadistic, murderous side that there is to her, because as morally grey as she is, to some extent she’s violent. She’s killed before and wouldn’t fear doing it again, plus she very often blackmails and threatens clients of hers that try to pin her on a wall, and considering the street fighting habit it’s no wonder she’d have a blood-oriented side to her character. It’d be fun to see her actually engage someone in a fight (as much as I suck writing that and never tried it---one more reason to desire it!), and it’d be entertaining figuring out how she speaks, thinks as such situation occurs.

Also someone witnessing her doing necromancy real-time? Please? It’d be so fun.

Offered interactions:

Salice is... a lawyer. She specializes but is not limited to divorce and mugging, and considering not a lot of muses around are married, the latter is a good start if you wish to entertain a “professional” plot with her. But as I said she’s not limited to those two types of cases---she accepts about anything, she just specifies due to her low rank as a lawyer.

So if you want to have a lawyer-client thing going on, show up with a problem and she’ll do her best to solve it (she is pricey to some extent though); the more tricky it is, the best it will be. Salice is always a sucker for complex and intriguing situations! Even more if your muse isn’t as innocent as they make themselves out to be!

That said, you can also have another sort of interaciton with her... which is via necromancy. You could be a client needy to reconnect with a deceased person and engage her: all while knowing her in normal daytime life. You don’t know she’s Ms. Necro, she doesn’t know you’re this specific acquaitance, and there’s this weird tension going on until one or both of you discover the deal. Either dig into it, or avoid it entirely!

Interesting situations could come up from a scenario involving her nightlife, which is made of nightclubbing and streetfighting.

I have a tag for open starters here! Though they’re mainly one-liners for the sake of vague context (I love when people come up with a random idea ahah), there are some long-ish ones too. I try to vary with muses, but the most prominent one is obviously Salice lol.

Hm, not that I can think of right now! I do suggest looking through each of the muses’ about pages often, since there are things to keep in mind about them (and I do notice when people don’t read the pages lol I know they’re long but please do it, there’s a lot of vital info) and uhhhh... I’m personally very prone to a terrible thing called laziness. That said, I’m always up for a chat if you’d like!

What inspired you to RP your muse?

I wanted to try rping in the fe rp community my first option was f!Robin who married Stahl or Priam but when Fates was announced i kind of saw Sakura since her design was cute and interesting so i just pick her

What keeps your inspiration going?

Daily stuff, trying to make some new verses for her, japanese events, the things i seen or just whatever comes on my mind fits for her.

Okay If it’s a muse that hates her (along with her siblings) for reasons in their oc story or a hc then i will let this slide it’s their muse not the mun but if you sending hate to my muse just because you hate her it’s not cool :/ i do have some friends/people i know who hates Sakura and honestly i just dont bring it up to them

That was a cute message for your followers. I've seen a lot of tips on how to make your blog popular but wow 12k in less than a year? I'm envious i've been here for more than a year in my main but i'm nowhere near that number. You could compete with other famous blogs out there. Any advice on how to make my blog more popular? Your blog is so pretty btw

Thank you for the compliment! :) And yes, cute is what I aim for :P Well, I really want to thank my followers and everyone who have been so kind to me because there wouldn’t be a 12k without them, so I think it was just proper that I dedicate that post to them.

I’ve never expected to give advice on this particular topic, but I’m more than glad to help your blog reach a wider audience. Since you’ve mentioned that you had read tips on how to make your blog “more popular”, I would assume that you’re already familiar with the usual tips (i.e. proper tagging, finding your niche, activeness, etc.). Hence, I think I could only advice you on two things that I realized in running this blog:

1. Try to be as personable as you can be.

That being said, I don’t want to impose for you to be fake nice™ to everyone if you’re not actually a gregarious person. For instance, when people send you a message or ask you question(s), I suggest that you answer in an amicable way if you can. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to use excessive emojis nor respond in an overly endearing language, but try to react in a nice and genuine way if possible. Personally, I try to mirror the tone that the other person gave me. It is easy to be emphatic (or at least be civil) with people, especially if they are just asking a question. I’ve seen other people lash out or stir up drama even if it’s totally uncalled for. I don’t know why some people seem to take pleasure in being rude just for the sake of it (I mean, I know, but let’s not delve into that topic now haha). We all have bad days and if there comes a time that you are having quite a stressful day yourself, know that you can come back later when you’re already feeling better. Also, you must remember that you are not required to respond right way, or at all. In my opinion, it’s better to just ignore a message (unless it’s an emergency) rather than to have a reaction that could totally offend or upset someone. Choose your words carefully before hitting that “reply/send” button.

I want to share one of my favourite reminders, “Always be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about.” It’s such a simple concept, but it seems that not everyone could grasp it. I apply it in my everyday life (even if it’s quite challenging haha), as well as with my interactions here. I’ve mentioned before that though I’m very grateful for the number of followers I have, I put greater value on the bond I have with people I came to know here. So I always appreciate everyone who sends me a message—be that a simple greeting or compliment, or rather profound messages that engages me in intelligent convos. Either way, it always starts there. Most people here in tumblr use this medium to unwind or to interact with other people, so I guess we have to be as courteous as we could with everyone because we don’t really know what personal issues other people may be dealing with. People would like you AND your blog if you’re more personable, rather than if you are only after the numbers. (We’re not spambots. We hatesss them! We block spambots!)

2. Give due credit to the photographers, designers and artists, never repost content, and do not remove other people’s captions especially if these link back to the source.

Properly crediting the images is really important because you’re posting someone else’s original content so It’s just apt to acknowledge the rightful owner of the image(s). It should also be noted that adding a particular *credit* is not enough, but you have to know the true original poster (seriously, how many times does google save our day?). Furthermore, everyone here who post content have somehow exerted time and effort in curating the images they share (which they sometimes edit as well), so do not repost because it’s basically considered stealing. I’ve personally experienced these inane actions when I had just started posting images in this blog. I then block people who do this (even if it’s not my posts) so I never have to see them—and their stolen posts lmao—ever again. The conclusion I get from such actions is that these people lack creativity and capability for divergent thinking ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

From a personal perspective, I never view the posts in my blog as mine per se, rather, I think of them as my simple ways to help the amazing photographers, fashion designers and artists be recognized for their talents and wonderful creations. So it is very important for me to give proper credit because it is just absolutely disrespectful not to.

Hmm. Lastly, I have to be honest that my mind seemed to had been marinated in sweet and sour sauce upon reading that you’re *envious* of my blog. Like I’ve aforementioned on my 12k thank you post, it was never (and will never be) my goal for this blog to be “famous” in tumblr. I’m actually a bit embarrassed that you think my blog is, because I don’t see it that way. But I want to thank you for saying for that. I know you meant to be kind (it will never be my intention to offend you or anyone. I apologize in advance if you’re offended), but blogging here is never a competition for me. It is just an online platform for me to de-stress; it’s not an online shop xD Tbh I don’t think that there is such thing as *competition* here anyway, no matter how toxic this site can be sometimes. Besides, I am not a competitive person anyway haha.

I have to confess though that I’m friends and have interacted with a lot of my mutuals and followers here, which for me is something that I could truly be glad about. I mean, what is the thousands of followers if they don’t interact with us, thus, our content may not be more than about numbers? Again, spambots?
