"fifth race" this, "second evolution" that. I think the Tau'ri specifically are the foretold returned Ancients.
with very few exceptions, Earth is the only place that has people with the ATA gene
Earth is where the Ancients evacuated to after they lost the war with the wraith
the earth stargate programme is the one that has explored, rediscovered, and activated the most Ancient devices and bases (Antarctica, Atlantis, that ship in SGU, the Ancient libraries, all of Merlins stuff, all of Oma Desala's stuff, all of Morgan Le Fays stuff, the list goes on)
Earth has made contact with the Asguard, the Nox, the Tollans, the Wraith and some other allies
Earth has made contact with actual Ancients and even had at least one Ascend and come back (Daniel)

I occasionally see posts where people criticize people in fandoms that view any given media through only a lense of shipping, down to flattening characters to just a few traits so that they fit a ship better. And don't get me wrong, those types of fans also irk me! But another type of fan / fan behaviour that I've never really seen anyone criticize is the types of fans who seem to only care about the lore of a series, and treat everything as a sort of puzzle that needs to be solved and that all open questions need to be answered. Which just. . . feels like a really boring way to engage with media. Questions being left open at the end of the story are good, cause they make you think.
Like, if there's a castle off in the distance in a story that only gets alluded to and nothing else, then that's cool. That makes me wonder about it. But I don't need to know about Lord Fucknugglebart the Dentally Challenged who once lived there And Did A Thing, especially when it adds nothing to the story.

I've been working through RtDL DX's Extra Mode fairly slowly, so I'm only just getting close to finishing it up now. I got all 120 Energy Spheres earlier today, and uhhhhhhh
Fun fact: This dialogue is entirely new to DX! It's not in the original. I went back to my old file on the Wii and checked.
Haha yeah you little shit, we know you're planning to betray us soon (still love you though <3)
WHAT THE FUCK????????
EXCUSE ME????????
And then he goes on to explain a bit more, as seen above. But uhhhhhh,,, yeah!!! He's not actually Halcandran!!!! That's a new piece of Lore right there. My jaw dropped while reading it lmao
Anyway, moving on from that bombshell of a sentence, since we still aren't done with the full dialogue,
Remember that post I made a bit over a month ago talking about some of Manager Magolor's dialogue, where I was wondering if that dream of his regarding the theme park also applied to Main Mode Magolor?
I WAS FUCKING RIGHT!
Hell yeah this is such a victory for me I was so excited to read that dghsghfs
Magolor stole the Master Crown so he could make a giant theme park Confirmed and Canon and Real /hj
And then we also get a fun little reference to the Kirby Clash games!
A steal in Kirby's eyes, maybe, but that's only because he doesn't understand real-world currency.
And to close out this post, here are the last two lines of dialogue from this conversation!
Anyway. I'm losing my mind 💖

I’ve been trying to track Jonathan’s escape route and I might be getting this wrong but:
The way he got to Dracula’s castle:
-Buda-Pesth to Klausenburgh (train)
-Klausenburgh to Bistritz (train, which arrives late)
-Bistritz through “Mittel land” to the beginning of Borgo Pass/Carpathian mountains (large coach)
-through Borgo Pass and then “down a narrow roadway which ran sharply to the right” to eventually arrive at Count Dracula’s castle (private coach)
-----------------------------------
The way he escaped Dracula’s castle:
-scaling the wall
-???
-Bistritz to Klausenburgh (train, speculation based off of him wanting “the quickest and nearest train”)
-Klausenburgh to Buda-Pesth (train)
“He came in the train from Klausenburg, and the guard was told by the station-master there that he rushed into the station shouting for a ticket for home.”
-----------------------------------
So for that ??? part, he either walked the whole way back or found a coach somewhere along the way.
Here is an approximate map of Jonathan’s travels. All the way on the left is Budapest. That entire green bumpy region is the Carpathian Mountains. The Count locates himself on the East Carpathian mountains somewhere between Transylvania, Bukovina, and Moldavia (the red and purple dots).
The Red dot is also Klausenburg (Cluj-Napoca), the Orange dot is Bistritz (Bistriţa), and the Yellow dot is the beginning of the Borgo Pass (Tihuța Pass).
The black circled region is my broad guess at where Count Dracula’s castle is. Dracula refers to the location as Transylvania, so it’s probably not too close to the Moldavian border (though it could also be that Dracula considers himself Transylvanian and therefore also considers his house Transylvanian regardless of region).
I wanted to see how long it would take for Jonathan to get to the Bistritz station on foot, but I didn’t want to pick a random location in the circled region, so I just looked up the distance between Bistritz and the beginning of the Borgo Pass.
A 10 hour walk for someone in good shape.

I’m thinking about the new Layton game, and while it would be fun to see old characters again like Flora, Emmy, or Descole, I feel like realistically the story’s going to be more standalone, with the only returning characters being Layton, Luke and maybe Inspector Chelmey and Barton
It’s been a long time since we’ve had a proper Layton game, and now with it coming to Switch, meaning it’ll reach a much larger audience than it likely ever did on the 3DS, meaning a lot of people who have never played the other games, so I feel like chances are they’ll want to play it safe, at least for this game, so that they can test the waters and see how receptive people are to a new Layton game. Also it’s likely meant to give us a return to formula
If they make more games afterwards, then bringing back old characters from the franchise might be more likely, but here I don’t think so
