He Becomes a Dad! || Part 1/2
PART 2
Pairing: Time, Four, Legend, Hyrule x Reader
Overview: Congratulations, you're new parents 🎉 Some of the Links are prepared. Others...might need a moment to gather themselves. But rest assured! At the end of the day, they're all going to get a handle on this whole dad thing. I'm a sucker for family tropes and there simply aren't enough out there for the Chain to quench my thirst, so here it is, I'm adding my contribution👍 Btw, there will be only two parts for this prompt since Wind will be excluded for obvious reasons. Baby making isn't a platonic activity🤷‍♀️

You only brought the topic of children up to your husband once. It was at some point during the early half of your marriage and after a particularly lengthy day of enduring Malon’s well-meant pestering. Time, beside being caught slightly off guard, delivered a straightforward answer:
“It wouldn’t feel right bringing kids into this world, especially when I would hardly be home to help you rear them.”
Now, you can’t lie and say you weren’t at all disappointed by this answer, although you wouldn’t say you had the rug completely pulled from beneath you. You understood the true implications behind Time’s statement right away. It’s the same reason he took so long to let himself marry you. It’s not you nor a disgust towards children, but rather an unspoken fear of building a life where he’s too happy - one that could be ripped away from him at a moment’s notice as has seemed to be the case for his younger years.
Although his worries are needless, you never pushed against his boundaries because you could at least see the sense in his argument. Sure, the idea of having children did always appeal to you deep down, however between Time’s constant traveling and your hard work helping at Lon Lon Ranch, it would be difficult to squeeze a family into the schedule. There was no sense in forcing him into a commitment he wasn’t ready for nor one you weren’t in a  position to properly foster.
Twelve years of blissful marriage passed before your plans changed. The blame lies with those other heroes, too. One would think traveling alongside a group of unruly young boys would’ve made someone more certain of their decision to never again subject themselves to such a headache, yet it apparently had the opposite effect on your dear husband.
Discovering first hand how much pride he could feel towards a descendant was life-altering, to put it light. Twilight was living proof that somewhere along the line, Time does something right. Whatever kids he might have will grow up to have children of their own and so on…Not to mention Twilight isn’t a terrible outcome by any means. To raise someone with the possibility of them turning out like him and to do so with you of all people? Well, needless to say, it was settled rather quickly after that: Time wanted kids.
Call it baby-fever if you will, but he was suddenly rather eager about the concept he had once avoided like the plague. He brought it up through not-so-subtly hints at first, then when you outright asked him if he was being serious, he went on a slightly nervous spew about your home being too quiet and how he could officially retire from traveling to be home more and it’s really a shame that you have an extra bedroom just sitting around - You just had to kiss him to shut him up which eventually led to…other things. Let’s just say you both got started right away.
It took you twelve years to realize you did indeed want kids yet less than a year to actually be holding them for the first time. It turns out even the universe was impatiently waiting for you both to come to your senses, so once you finally had, it decided to award you with not one, but two beautiful girls whom you affectionately named Saria after Time’s old friend and Mallory, a mix between melody and Malon, their ever-so-excited godmother.
It’s safe to say that the twins are pretty spoiled. Malon has been over almost everyday, bringing you plenty of baked goods as a bribe to let her spend more time with her favorite goddaughters and you have practically every baby related item that you could need, courtesy of the Queen of Hyrule herself, but of course, it’s their parents who love them the most.
Never in his wildest dreams did Time think it would be possible to feel so at peace with the life he’s built. For so many years, he feared true happiness was impossible - that every turn would result in the same cruel fate he had been subjected to during most of his existence - and yet for the last couple of nights, he’s held it in his arms. He’s watched the moon rise outside his window while playing soft lullabies on his ocarina, you cuddled by his side with your daughters shared between you both. You wear a small smile even in sleep and he swears the girls match it, too; he definitely does himself…This is a priceless treasure he’ll give his life to protect.
Tumblr media
Four and you had already been married for a few years by the time you found out you’re pregnant. It’s not to say you were actively planning for it, although you also weren’t actively trying not to either.
It had been agreed upon early in your relationship that kids would be nice should they come your way, therefore you were both equally excited that your wishes were finally being granted, so much so that the nursery was finished within the first month (courtesy of your handy husband). It’s painted in beautiful pastels that are easy on the eyes and decorated with many toys Four had hand-carved himself; a useful craft he’s now very appreciative towards Sky for teaching him.
Seeing as this was already a somewhat anticipated next step in your lives, Four’s pretty relaxed throughout the process despite its many challenges. For starters, pregnancy itself unfortunately isn't as much of a 'blessing' for you as some have made it sound. You’re rather sick from beginning to end. If it isn't your inability to keep food down (especially in the early stages) or your fluctuating blood pressure, then it’s the aching you constantly feel thanks to both your very heavy bump and extremely active baby who just loves to make sure you never forgot about their existence by kicking you as hard as possible day and night.
Worry not. Four has made your struggles more bearable by being a darling husband through and through. He’s by your side during each doctor’s visit, does his own personal research on all things baby-related, and helps with every chore he can to give you at least some rest even if just for a quick nap, however most spectacularly, he does all of this without ever being too overbearing.
Although certainly concerned for your health, Four can recognize your strength any day of the week, especially when you've been rolling with the punches like a warrior queen during such a draining pregnancy. Anxious, sure, but not afraid. Why would he be? He’s confident that you’re both prepared to face anything together! …That is, until you actually went into labor…
Yeah, remember that previously mentioned, relaxed and darling husband? Forget about him. Your water broke and so did Four's calm demeanor, but can he really be blamed? You went into labor early - and not just by a couple of days either. Oh no, we're talking a couple of weeks early.
Regardless of his newfound fear, Four does his utmost best to still present himself as calm and collected in front of you, not wanting to freak you out any more than you’re already freaking out yourself. He first helped you lay down with plenty of pillows and cushions before running to get help. After that, he doesn’t leave your side, encouraging you throughout the process with a smile on his face, however don’t be fooled: the second you turn your head to the midwife’s voice or close your eyes to scream, your poor husband’s face reflects his inner thoughts as the situation fully begins to sink in. 'Scared shitless' - that's a good word to describe it; eyes wide in terror with a mouth that’s hung agape and slightly twisted in pain as your nails clawed into his hand.
As said, he never leaves your side - not even for a millisecond. You don’t have to worry about him being the type of guy to get grossed out by natural fluids or complain about your expressions of pain; none of that is remotely a concern of his. He’s just grateful to see you okay and even more so to hear his baby crying as they should.
A girl; small like her daddy, but healthy all things considered. Four couldn't wait to hold her, knowing damn well he was going to cry the second her soft skin touched his, but he isn’t ashamed of it in the slightest. Who wouldn’t cry holding something so precious?
Then you scream again. He thinks something must be wrong until the midwife announces that it isn’t over - that there are more squeezed in there waiting.
At the end of the day, you're just relieved to finally breathe easy without going through agonizing pain while Four, on the other hand, is left in shock staring at not one, not two, but three little babies, all healthy girls who wiggle and whimper in their parents' arms, but oh well. The nursery may have to be expanded, although there's plenty of love to go around. At least he can thank Hylia that it wasn’t quads (he's had enough of those).
Tumblr media
Legend and you have been in a relationship for several years, although you had mutually agreed earlier on that neither of you were big fans of the whole 'marriage' thing. What difference would a ceremony and piece of paper make, anyway? You already act as any officially married couple would. You live together, go on dates, occasionally argue, and even share a bed which is exactly what resulted in a recent, unplanned detour in your lives: a baby.
When you first told Legend the news, he panicked, asking himself all those stupid questions like ‘what now’ and ‘how could this have happened’ even though he knew damn well how. Then he left. Giving some half-assed excuse about needing fresh air, he turned his back to you despite your pleas and didn’t return for hours.
Now, rest assured, he did immediately regret having that reaction and apologized for it as soon as he came home. He didn’t mean to scare you with the thought of abandonment, but as he would quietly confess during his apology, the thought of being a parent had just been too overwhelming in the moment. Neither of you had ever talked about having kids, and while he could at least have some peace of mind knowing you’ll obviously be a great mom, he fears that the same won’t be applied to him.
You have always been the light in a dim room, as Legend would put it. You’re fun, sweet, and amazing with kids. Any child of yours, planned or not, will love you with all of their heart exactly as he does. Meanwhile he’s stubborn, cranky, and the last kid to cross his path literally started sobbing. Maybe it had to do with him being covered in monster blood after just having crawled out of a dungeon but he’s pretty sure he traumatized a kid nonetheless…The thought of being just as bad around any kid you share together scares the crap out of him.
Deep, deep down, Legend’s actually somewhat excited to be a father. Although he’s too stubborn to admit it to anyone other than you, he’ll sometimes daydream about how nice it would be to tell a little replica of you both about all his adventures or to teach them how to use some of the items he’s collected over the years like his trusty boomerang. Seeing the excitement in their eyes would definitely be worth listening to you scold him afterwards. If that’s all there was to being a father, Legend wouldn’t have a single concern, yet it’s his insecurities that always have a habit of souring things. Would his kid actually find his stories cool or would they just be tempted to throw the boomerang right at his head?
You’ve done your best to reassure him, often falling back on the argument that the baby will be a part of him. Like father, like son, right? Legend was almost ready to believe you, too, especially upon laying eyes on his child for the first time. As you passed the tiny bundle over to him, he thought that maybe being a dad wasn’t going to be that scary after all, and it might not be so bad to even have more someday either…However, his worries were quick to return when the baby started screaming two seconds after being set into his arms…
Baby screams if he holds him. Baby whimpers if he looks at him for too long. Sometimes, Legend swears the thing starts crying simply by hearing his voice in another room. It doesn’t happen with anyone else, though. The baby just adores you as predicted, but what Legend can’t stand is the fact that the baby seems to like Ravio, of all annoyances, over his own dad.
He’s forced to watch as the little brat happily lets Ravio cradle him, the sight filling him with bitter jealousy and sorrow. You’re convinced that he’s just overthinking everything - that he should give himself time to adjust to his new position as a father instead of holding himself to unrealistic standards, but how long is he exactly supposed to wait until it clicks? It’s been a whole month already and he still feels as confused as day one! Will he ever get the hang of this whole dad-thing or is he a lost cause…?
If there’s any comfort Legend can have, it’s that even Ravio doesn’t know what to do with the baby once he starts crying, so at least he’s not alone in that aspect. The only problem is you’re busy making lunch and stubbornly refuse to pause your efforts. Instead, you shove a bottle over to Legend, insisting that he be the one to feed his son since it should be a ‘good bonding exercise’ for them. You won’t take ‘no’ for an answer and judging on your glare when he tries to protest, you probably wouldn’t be happy if he tries passing the task onto Ravio either.
Thus, Legend is left to awkwardly sit down and take the baby into his arms. He already knows it’s obvious he has no idea what he’s doing, Ravio doesn’t have to point it out, but luckily after some swift around, he manages to hold his son more securely against his chest before shoving the bottle in his face. The baby continues to fuss while turning his head away from the bottle, and Legend’s almost tempted to call for you in defeat until at last, the room falls silent.
Looking down, he watches in quiet awe as his son accepts his meal eagerly. His little hands quickly rise up, gripping onto Legend’s which holds the bottle in place. They’re so tiny; barely able to wrap around a single finger - Oh, and his eyes as well! They’re wide as he stares up at his dad with unbroken eye contact. It’s like a wordless conversation - one more valuable than any he’s heard before.
You return, offering to take your son now that your work is done, but Legend is quick to shake his head. Why don’t you take a well-deserved break while he handles this little troublemaker? It would be a shame to bother him when he looks so comfortable in daddy’s arms.
Tumblr media
You've been dating Hyrule for longer than either of you can really remember, however you aren’t in any big rush to get married, figuring that it would make no real difference in your commitment to each other. You love Hyrule and he loves you. What more is there to say? For a while there, you were both perfectly satisfied with simply taking things slow and letting fate decide your course, although more recently you’ve had to switch up that method to something more stable for the baby. Yes, a baby.
You wouldn’t necessarily call it a surprise, but you also can’t truthfully say it was planned either. You had agreed that kids might be nice if the goddesses ever blessed you with any in the future, however you weren’t exactly trying for them…You just weren’t being very careful…
Hyrule must admit he was rather nervous at the start. The only prior experience he really had around kids was with Wind, but there’s a pretty big difference between a young teen and newborn. Pair that with his not so ‘kid-friendly’ world and there’s plenty to worry over. Anything could happen, but Hyrule’s determined to be the best dad and partner he can.
First thing was first, of course: you needed a place to stay. Traveling is fun and you both enjoy being on the move, but that’s no life for a baby. Hyrule and you had actually already considered the idea of settling down someplace before, so you didn’t think of it as a massive loss to take off your adventure boots for a while. If anything, it was a welcomed change once you remembered how lovely it is to be able to kick your feet up for a rest or be surrounded by warmth during a terrible rainstorm.
Again, Hyrule takes his job as your partner very seriously which wasn’t ever a surprise to you. He found a small house for you both to rent in one of the safer villages around; a perfect place for raising a child. While he might not have a talent for decorating or making a place feel ‘homey’, he does thrive when it comes to making sure you’re comfortable, his spare rupees definitely going to fluffy wool blankets and a rickety rocking chair that he saw at a market.
Early on in the pregnancy, you noticed that your boyfriend also began showing a new found determination for cooking which did scare you a bit at first - Okay, so maybe a lot. Hyrule began taking cooking lessons from some kind elderly ladies in town who must have an endless pool of patience because while you can’t say every dish is a masterpiece (or even editable for that matter), you are happy to say Hyrule can now make things like toast and tomato soup successfully. It’s progress.
There aren’t a ton of doctors in your time and none in your village, so you have to take a lot of notes from local women regarding the process. Hearing all their stories and the possible ‘what if’s for what could go wrong made you anxious, especially once you finally go into labor, but it doesn’t faze Hyrule - not on the outside, anyway. He does an excellent job of swallowing his own fears for your peace of mind, talking you through each painful contraction and doing his best to distract you from it all until it comes time to start pushing.
Some people may get squeamish at the thought of childbirth, however Hyrule isn’t one of them. He’s fought through some terrifying dungeons and has bore witness to more than a few gory injuries over the years, so bodily fluids don’t bother him one bit. He’s kneeled down right in front of you without a second’s hesitation, multitasking between mentally reviewing what he’s been told to do and reassuring you even though he’s sure you don’t hear a word of it over your own screams.
One minute Hyrule’s encouraging you to keep pushing, the next he’s holding a small, crying baby in his arms. His movements after that feel almost automatic as he carefully cleans her off and just admires the fact that this baby - this tiny, precious gift of life is his. She’s yours and his and she’s beautiful despite having come into existence within such a broken world filled with more hardships than he could count…
Your tired voice brings him back to reality - asking if the baby you hear crying is okay. You clearly feel the same thing Hyrule does upon seeing your daughter for the first time, the two of you sitting side-by-side as you soak in this wonderful emotion. Hope...That’s what she represents. Hope for a brighter future...

Mail Time
“Oh, Legend!” Sky waves the vet down as he comes down the stairs of the inn. “I’ve got the mail! Want to help me sort it out?”
“The mailman again? How does he end up here?” Legend pulls some of the stack from Sky’s arms and frowns at the different scripts. “Hey, are any of these important?”
“Why would I know?”
“Great, let me take these off your hands!” Legend makes a grab for the stack, which Sky yanks away.
“These aren’t yours!”
There’s a glint in the vet’s eyes that promises trouble. “Did you know you can steam open envelope seals? Sure would be a shame if the contents got mixed up…right?”
Well…that’s a pretty harmless prank, actually. Not everyone could read each other's language so there was little chance of sharing information. Sky’s grin is slow, but there. “Want to show me?”
“Mail time!” Sky hands out envelopes based on the names. Legend follows Sky into the room with the other heroes. He and the vet split the stack to mix up. Actually…
“One for you, Legend!”
The vet startles at being handed an envelope, then blanches when he looks at the handwriting. Ah, so he doesn’t want that mixed up in someone else’s? Well, he should have thought of that before pranking the Chain.
For a moment there’s just the quiet rip of seals and shuffle of paper.
“Huh.” Four frowns at the letter he’s holding. “I’ve never heard my Zelda use so many…compliments before.”
Hyrule squints at his paper. “Did I get a bill? Something about rental fees?”
“Well, mine’s from Tetra!” Wind says, which only adds to the confusion.
Warriors makes a choking sound and his face goes bright red.
Legend pounces. “What’s wrong, captain? Why not read your letter aloud?”
“N-no,” comes the strangled reply. “I really don’t think that’s a good idea. I think the mail has been mixed up.”
“Come on, share with us!”
The captain makes a wheezing sound and turns, impossibly, redder. “You asked for it. Uh, someone cover Wind’s ears.”
“Hey!” Wind is ignored as Twilight claps his hands over the sailor’s ears. Time frowns, but doesn’t interfere.
Clearing his throat, Warriors starts reading. “My love, how I long for the carnal delight of your body. I’m so empty without your…sword to spear me.”
Twilight clutches Wind closer, mouth hanging open. Most of the rest of the Chain stare as well. Legend is positively bug-eyed.
“I miss running my hands across your firm buttocks, dipping to that most secret place—”
“Okay!” Time interrupts. “I think that’s enough.”
Warriors waves the paper. “No, no, let me keep reading! Let’s see, ‘My sweet, my Fairy Boy, my Link…”
Dead silence.
As one, everyone’s heads swivel to stare at Time. Sky’s never seen Time turn that shade of red before.
“I think,” he whispers, “that letter is for me.”
“It was Sky’s idea to mix up the mail,” Legend yells, and bolts.
If Sky’s going down, Legend is too. “Get back here you turncoat! Traitor! Villain!” He thuds into the hall wall as he sprints after the vet.
“Sky! Legend!” Time roars.
“Run faster!”
@uniquevoidflowers Thanks for the prompt!

Linked Universe / GN!Reader - Random Headcanons abt the Chain :)
Part 1 (ur here!) / Part 2 / Part 3
Tumblr media
Sun: Gender Neutral! Reader (you/they/them), Guide Reader
Orbit: Headcanons-ish
Stars: First, Sky, Four, Legend
Comets & Meteors: Content: None Known & Triggers: None Known.
U have a lot of Nicknames: Guide, Hero's Guide, Prince, Princey, Star, (more to be added?).
First (Manga!Link):
Has "too good" of posture lol
It makes his back stiff and by the time he's in his bedroll he's confused about why it feels better, silly silly man
Just in general tenses his muscles too often, so whenever u offer to massage him, he nearly crumbles on the spot
(the others know exactly how amazing ur massages are, and are fully staring at him in jealousy lol)
Gets little rips and tears in his clothing all the time somehow??
Even tho he wont have a scratch acc on him after hours of battle???
mans could be flying around Skyloft with only clouds touching him and come back pouting telling you he ripped his scarf again :'(
Likes to be slightly in front of you most of the time, especially in new places/other Links' Hyrules
It just makes him feel better knowing he's both protecting you, and that you're watching his back
(Most Links feel at their best/most confident when your voice can be heard just over their shoulder, not that they don't love seeing ur face now too)
Sky (Skyward Sword Link):
Is slowly making everyone he knows a collection of wooden figurines
He usually carves when he's bored or stressed
so needless to say this mission of the Shadow (slow going, stressful at times like Twi getting hurt)
Has made him give u an army of little wooden figures (everyone else gets a small collection bc ur the first he gives one to)
Did i say give? Excuse me, i meant:
sneaks them as a little surprise into your belongings or clothing or other personal effects
This started bc after a week or two of him giving you wooden things you tried to reroute him to other ppl,
so Sky just made it his mission to see how many he can sneak instead onto you on any given day lmao
(Also he may or may not have daydreamed abt being able to carve u things and actually physically give them to you on his adventure before, so he's taking advantage of being able to now)
Has luscious hair at all times, little to no effort, Wars is so pissed abt it lol
Mf responded when asked what products he used (by poor Wars too) with, "wym?? With water??? And soap????"
Never ties his boot laces
You will all be gearing up for battle and go to stalk and stealth kill monsters and right before u get up on them u always have to look over at Sky's shoes and whisper at him to tie them
Is the most likely to plant face first into the ground or trip and fall on his ass from shoes untying
He just didnt need to with being in the clouds on his Loftwing all the time back on Skyloft and so he never rlly adapted to that even on the surface lol
He's also just miserable at doing a decent knot so you've taken to teaching him repeatedly how to tie them-
why didnt the knight academy help with this at all actually??
(Wind makes fun of him be hes a sailor and knows like 10+ knots)
Four (Four Swords/Minish Cap Link):
Loses his tools constantly
Well not really "lose" so much as "slightly misplace"
It drives him crazy, the Minish used to help him with it back in his Hyrule so he got out of the habit of putting things back where they belong
You've gotten to the point where you'll glance over wherever he's working so the next time he comes up to u complaining abt a lost hammer or smth u immediately just "should be over by the fire"
And ur right, 99.9% of the time its so funny
Bc Four's all like "wtf ive moved around so much since then i took all the other tools with me- MF. U WERE RIGHT."
Is rlly good at like color matching, comes in handy for new outfits
Also has aches and pains like in his hands and arms mostly
Bc of all the forge work, and absolutely treasures any massages u offer him
Likes to wear matching jewelry with you! Like earrings or piercings or necklaces etc
Also has good taste in jewelry and what looks good on everyone + you
Legend (Link to the Past, Link's Awakening etc):
Unfortunately the type of person to just shove things in his bag willy nilly
Its the horder tendencies, he just has a lot of stuffs so he gave up trying to organize it
Actually really good at styling hair, Legend would absolutely lie abt it if u asked but he can spend as much time on his hair as Warrior
Likes to experiment with new clothes, like skirts or bright colors, esp if they match some of his clothes already
U ran by some makeup one time in another Hyrule and he knew how to use it rlly well??
Lies abt random skills he has, or like thinks skills he already has can translate well,
like he's rode a horse before wym he can't drive Wild's motorcycle??
Or fly a Loftwing???
Well now its a challenge
Tbh most competitive over stupid things randomly out of all the Links besides Wild, Wind, Wars, and occasionally Hyrule + Sky + Time
Got challenged to try and go shield surfing with u once and thought that horse-riding skill would transfer and it did in fact Not.
Actually kinda scared the other Links watching u two spin out and crash ngl, what with doing an accidental backflip? Midair??
but u both were okay somehow???
Also weirdly lucky, u stg he's got some sort of ring or blessing for that
IT ACCIDENTALLY POSTED I FUCKING HATE TUMBLR ITS DONE THIS TO ME MULTIPLE TIMES NOW 😭😭
All the Links WOULD HAVE been here if it werent for fucking tumblr
Ill post more parts soon if anyone is interested
Peace out,
🌙

[✨ this was written for zelink week 2023 organised by @zelinkcommunity and is a companion piece to 'repast' and 'kin'] Fandom: The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Pairing: Link/Zelda Words: 1140
Despite all that time has taken from her, the Light Dragon can still recall names.
The skies in which she swims belong to Hyrule, and her sister dragons that she shares them with are Naydra, Farosh and Dinraal. Yet the Light Dragon no longer has a name, and her heart cries out in search of one — though she does not know why.
Each day at sunset, her sisters join her above the clouds. Sister, they say, come with us, to where the land meets the sky and where the mortal beings dwell. Each day, for many years, the Light Dragon cannot accept. She awaits another, one who will awaken on the Great Sky Island that she dutifully guards. This purpose, though its details are lost, burns within her.
When the swordsman finally awakens, the Light Dragon senses him immediately. She watches with muted curiosity as he begins to explore her island in the sky. Why had he come to this place? Were all the mortal beings so small? Soon she finds him on the ancient circular landing behind the island’s temple, and watches as the sword in his hand disappears in golden light. She is drawn to him then, called by a voice within: the swordsman must have a sword. Perhaps on the surface, where her sisters call to her, he will find another. Determined, the Light Dragon splits the clouds guarding the island from the world below. The swordsman does not wait; he leaps, surface bound. The Light Dragon follows.
The vast lands below swallow the swordsman whole. There are deep valleys that cut the earth and mountains that pierce the skies. There are churning rivers and yawning bays. There are open plains, marshy swamps, and rolling deserts. He must be out there, somewhere, and across all four corners of Hyrule the Light Dragon searches.
In winding canyons flooded with water, she meets her sister Farosh. Have you seen a swordsman? she asks. Farosh answers: None with valour and courage enough to impress me, sister.
Among rocky crags and cooled lava, in the shadow of a great volcano she meets her sister Dinraal. Have you seen a swordsman? she asks. Dinraal answers: Hyrule has seen many, sister, for blood flows here as easily as water flows to the sea.
Between gentle mountains, as snow feathers down, she meets her sister Naydra. Have you seen a swordsman? she asks. Naydra answers: Yes, he flies as we do, sister. I am sure he will visit you soon.
But he does not. The sorrow the Light Dragon feels at this is powerful and achingly fresh. Against her will, tears well in her eyes. She begs them not to fall; each time they do, they take more of her with them. She tries to hold on, and hold fast, but the tears fall anyway. The Light Dragon forgets why she was crying.
It is not long after this that he finds her. And it was as Naydra said; the swordsman could fly like the dragons, capturing the winds to soar through the sky. He lands softly on her back, his footsteps tickling, almost pleasant. Then he is holding onto her mane, holding very tight; is he worried he might fall? Then she can hear weeping. She hopes he is not unwell.
After some time, the swordsman speaks: “Is that really you, Zelda?”
She does not understand nor does she answer the question.
“Gods… you have the Master Sword. You’ve really had it all this time…”
Then he is moving, light feet padding about her mane. “Sorry, old girl, I’ve gotta take it from you.”
She is just thinking that she likes the gentle weight of him when a blinding pain rips through her head and down the length of her body. She lurches skyward, roaring, but the pain doesn’t stop, and it’s like something is tugging very hard on her head. It is not nice! Whatever it is should let go! It is her fur there! It keeps her warm! Let go! Let go!
The sky suddenly flashes white, and next she knows she is enveloped in clouds of shimmering gold. Calm washes through her and she relaxes, allowing herself to float. The swordsman is still there, murmuring: Hylia help me, I’m sorry. I didn’t know that’d hurt— Are you okay?
Yes, it is all going to be okay. She closes her eyes and recalls the final piece of her memories that had not yet slipped away; she has the sword, which she guarded much as she guarded her island in the sky. How this came to be, and why, is lost to her. But it is no matter. Her purpose is fulfilled. She is at peace.
After this, the swordsman visits her often. He brings her apples cooked in butter, which she eats even though she can’t really taste them, doing so because it seems to make him happy. Then he brings her flowers, threading them into her mane, which she likes for the soft pull of his fingers through her hair. Sometimes he comes to talk, telling stories of the surface, using words she doesn’t understand but enjoys for the sound of his voice. Sometimes he just comes to sit, clinging to her mane, always clinging.
Then, the last time he comes, she is sitting with him on top of the temple on the Great Sky Island, dozing. Her sisters have teased her for this. Sister beloved, what need does a dragon have for sleep? The swordsman sleeps, she has told them, and often sleeps for entire days. It seemed a pleasant activity to try, and she has found it helps her to enjoy the feeling of the sun on her back.
On this final day, she awakens to find the swordsman brushing her mane, running his hands through the strands.
“I have to go soon, Zelda,” he says. “I’ve stalled for a long time. I need to finish what you started.”
He has an apple in his hand, which she obligingly eats. “If I don’t come back, old girl, you know I love you, right? If there’s even a tiny bit of Zelda in there, I want her to know…”
Zelda. She yearns to understand this word. Is that a name? If it was, could it be hers? She does not know how to tell the swordsman this — that she can be his Zelda, if he wants. Instead she pushes her snout into his hand, nuzzling against him.
In response he wraps his arms around her, holding tight. At his back is a noble sword, in a scabbard of blue and gold. Then he lets go, runs a gentle hand across her fur one last time, and departs.
The Light Dragon Zelda returns to the sky, unmoved. He has left her before, and always returns.
Content to wait, she flies away free.

Time is super observant, but considering you are covered in your traveling clothes, he sees you as someone who needs to be protected, put more into the center of the group when shit hits the fan.
BUT WHEN THIS MAN SEES YOU HOLD YOUR OWN IN A FIGHT?! Mad respect for you. He watched you straight up pick up a monster by its ankle and sling it across the battlefield like it was one of Wilds broken weapons.
After that he definitely keeps you to the front of the group when things start going wrong.

Does not underestimate you any more once he gets ROCKED by you body slamming into his shield during a duel.
You are one of his favorites to train with because of how strong you are and you work together on optimize your abilities 😤
Sky:
Also loves to train with you - mainly because he’s fast on his feet and learning how much strength you have teaches him how to stay grounded if he’s hit (as much as he can be).
His eyes practically pop out of his head the minute he sees your arms out of your knights armor - your arms rivaling that of Twilights. (Hearty eyes hearty eyes)
He might ask to take a nap by being held by you please for the love of Hylia, LET HIM!
Twilight:
Another one who gets very surprised by your strength when you straight up tackle him or show off the gun show.
Might sumo wrestle you - actually no, HE WILL SUMO WRESTLE YOU IF YOU JUST GIVE HIM THE CHANCE
Also will ask you to help with gathering firewood for camp because it makes it easier if the two of you do it instead of Legend or Wind (for example).
Wild:
HELLO NEW HUNTING BUDDY
You WILL be carrying the caribou he takes down once he knows you can lift it and also helping strip the skin because oh my god does that take a while and he needs all the help he can get.
Will ask to sit on your shoulders to get a better vantage point to figure out where you all are.
Legend:
Not impressed (yes he is, don’t listen to him, he’s just salty)
Speechless when he witnesses you toss a wallmaster into a wall but tried to cover it up sarcastically saying “I could do that”.
Softens up to you when he’s injured and your carrying him/ripping some of your own clothing to make a bandage because they’re all out of potions.

Attempts to do pull ups with your biceps.
Will ask for you to carry him via piggy back up the mountain because his legs hurt.
Bonus -
Fierce Diety:
Proud Dad
Cue the training music montage - another who likes to train with you - might even attempt to do curls or bench press you. You are his new apprentice now, there’s no escaping it.

Malon is a STRONG woman herself and so she appreciates the extra muscle when it presents itself around the farm.
Definitely has you helping with heavy lifting around Lon Lon ranch.

so in those [mumble mumble] years between BotW and TotK, the Zora replaced the weathered and unreadable monuments with new history writing by Sidon, and their contents have left me hmm emotionally compromised ??
i was gonna list em out in full but then i read them all and Sidon waffles so much bless him LOL
full transcripts below (+ the 11th monument in the Domain itself) expect Sidon being an adorable goof, Zora Deep Lore, waterbending, SO much gushing over Mipha and Link, Zelda being a sweetheart, and surprise Yona content !!!
just for clarity, i've highlighted the first word of each on-screen chunk of text ... i love Sidon so much but he's so verbose i kept missing the full log lol but im glad he went all in, its earnest, descriptive and poetic :') 💙 RIP the stonemasons ...
Learnings of the Zora, Part One The Waters of Zora's Domain As told by Prince Sidon
Long, long ago, right here in Lanayru, incredible transformations, both subtle and drastic in nature, shaped the land. The tall mountains birthed clouds, these clouds cried tears of rain, and this rain filled our deep valleys past the brim. In time, this overflowing water became the Zora River, which bred waterfalls that fell and nourished the vast Lanayru Wetlands. Perhaps it was inevitable that my Zora ancestors, who wandered in search of precious water, would finally settle here. The mountains of Lanayru are blessed with high-quality stone. The structures built from said stone are solid yet refined. Just like the Zora and our domain, our buildings exist in harmony with the water. It is a beautiful symbol of our way of life. If you go to the edge of the domain, close your eyes, and listen closely ... you shall be greeted by the gentle sound of water. This kind, soothing sound is a testament to the happy life the Zora are so grateful to have found here. As one born of royal Zora blood, my duty is as clear as it is unshakeable. I, Sidon, swear here and now ... I shall protect our home with my very life, that the gentle sound of water may never cease in our beloved domain.
Learnings of the Zora, Part Two The Legend of Ruto, Our Great Ancestor As told by Prince Sidon
It is written that long ago there was a strong-willed Zora princess who was as meandering as a winding river. This princess, who was dearly loved by her fellow Zora, was noble as she was innocent. Her name was Ruto. One day, a powerful and wicked man tried to take over Hyrule and brought great ruin to the once-peaceful Zora's Domain. Our tales speak of falled Zora soldiers drifting down the river as it sadly reflected the chaotic retreat of the terrified Zora. Princess Ruto bravely fought back her tears and she bore witness to the tragic misery unfolding in the domain. Even amid her heartbreak, the Zora princess did all she coult to help the weak and elderly escape. Next she swam against the river's current and climbed the mighty waterfall to challenge her foe. The details of this fight have fallen victim to the haze of time. Few details remain. Still, it is said she was aided by the princess of Hyrule and the hero of legend, and together they saved Hyrule. So the legend goes. I, Sidon, prince of the Zoram cannot help but ponder these events as I listen to the Zora children play in all their innocence. As Princess Ruta's descendant, it is my fate to carry the torch of her brave acts into tomorrow and beyond. I shall not fail.
Learnings of the Zora, Part Three The Great King Dorephan As told by Prince Sidon
Several springs after I lost my dear sister, Mipha, a large group of Lizalfos attacked the domain. It mattered not that this was my first true battle. The expectations of those around me weighed heavy on my shoulders. The absence of Mipha, who had always been there to encourage me with loving kindness, was like a spear to my heart. As for my own spear, though I was highly trained for its use, it seemed to only cut the air and slash the water's surface. I was taken off guard by a surprise attach from three Lizalfos hiding at the water's edge, each with their blade fixed on me. I knew that my time had come ... and that is when the three Lizalfos disappeared, as quickly as they had arrived. In their place, I saw the towering figure of my father, the great King Dorephan, who had just bested my foes with ease. "Sidon, my son," he said firmly. "You allwed your heart to falter. That is the quickest way to fall on the battlefield." His words cut deep, but as I stood on the brink of dispair, a familiar gently encouraged me. "Your king needs you." Many soldiers later attested they were certain they had also heard the sweet voice of Mipha on that day. From then on, my heart was true and my resolve firm. By lending strength to our king, we were able to save the domain.
Learnings of the Zora, Part Four Two Sisters of Different Blood As told by Prince Sidon
When I was young, I had an irrational fear of strangers. I was particularly bashful around Yona. Paralyzed, even. She was already so mature in manner, and she treated me like a little brother, even though we were not related. There came an unseasonably heavy rain that quickly flooded the river. Us children, who were playing there, were swept away. I was battered by the water's strong flow, my fins helpless to resist. It was Yona who dragged me to the safety of the shore. The water continued to swell as the shore waned, but Yona was unflappable, sweetly comforting me as I shivered in fear. It was Mipha, my dear sister, who finally showed up to rescue us with other Zora adults in tow. I still remember Yona's face as she gazed up at Mipha in admiration. My face must have looked the same as I gazed at Yona. As a child, I had two big sisters. One by birth and one by chance. Yona looked up to Mipha, and I was in awe of them both. Before I knew it, years had passed, and my feelings for Yona became more difficult to quantify. Then, one day ... My father informed me that the amazing young woman who had once been a like a sister to me was to be my bride. Perhaps these feelings and memories are too dear and private to commit to history, but such is the tale of this Zora prince.
Learnings of the Zora, Part Five The Zora Armor She Left Behind As told by Prince Sidon
For some time after I lost my beloved sister, even in the light shining on the water seemed dark and dreary to my eyes. But as they say, time heals all wounds, no matter how deep. I can now speak of her with a smile, as is only fitting. I shall now tell the tale of the Zora armor that my sister crafted for her future husband, as per our ancient custom. One dark day, the domain was in great peril, and I sought help from a traveling Hylian to save our home. He was sparing with his words, yet I trusted him at once. As fate would have it, he was a childhood friend of Mipha's. My father, King Dorephan, troubled by the domain's suffering, requested his help. The swordsman agreed without hesitation. Father bequeathed my sister's Zora armor to this courageous soul, along with her hopes for the safety of the domain. The armor fit Link perfectly - so perfectly that councilman Muzu, who then harbored a hatred of Hylians, could not object. My sister had already left this world, and with her went the dearly held intentions that she had instilled within that special armor. Yet, with Link's help, she shined a light on the Zora in our hour of need, reaching between worlds with gentle fingertips.
Learnings of the Zora, Part Six The Story of Mipha Court: The Beginning As told by Prince Sidon
There was once a terrifying monster on Ploymus Mountain, loosing shock arrows on all who dared to cross its path. It was of utmost importance to drive the beast away, but as the Zora are weak to electricity, our efforts were futile. That is when a lone Hylian arrived at the domain. This swordsman who was sparing with his words ... his name was Link. Unlike us Zora, he was immune to shocks! Well perhaps that is an exaggeration, but one thing is certain. He was very brave. After careful preparation, he ascended Ploymus Mountain and defeated the foul beast all by himself. As if in celebration of newfound peace, clean water mysteriously began flowing at the top of Ploymus Mountain. That is when many Zora, if not most, voiced support for building a place that all could enjoy in that formerly frightful spot. Yet the many tree roots and stones made this task tricky, leading to a focus on the no-less-difficult matter of the name. "Zora Park" was too obvious. "Ploymus Park" only conjured images of the former terrors found there. When I candidly asked whether we should focus on the hard work at hand rather than the name, they all turned my way. "Prince Sidon," they asked. "Surely you must have a good suggestion?" To that, I fell silent, and stayed so for a long while. I shall write the conclusion of this story on another monument.
Learnings of the Zora, Part Six The Story of Mipha Court: The Conclusion As told by Prince Sidon
The first half of this tale can be found on another stone monument. If it is not too much trouble, I advise reading that first. I now present the conclusion. When posed with the task of naming this storied location, I, Prince Sidon, fell silent. After a time, I timidly proposed the one and only name that came to mind for this place of newfound peace. I suggested that we name it after my beloved sister who had long been lost to us ... Mipha Court. I worried they would think I was unfairly favoring my own family's legacy by naming it after my kin. A hush fell over the group. After a time, one of the stonemasons raised his voice in agreement. More voices joined his, one after another. The idea was embraced whlly, and the craftsmen all returned to their work. Though the work was grueling, from then until the completion of Mipha Court, the air was filled with laughter and singing. This incident drove home to my very core how much everyone loved my sister. I hope one day to inspire such admiration. If there is ever to be a Sidon Court, I must work tirelessly to earn that honor.
Learnings of the Zora, Part Seven The Prince and the Swordsman As told by Prince Sidon
The rain always stops ... except when it does not. This humourous saying was once repeated with a soft chuckle around here. Then, one day, heavy rain started falling in the domain, and no matter how many days passed it did not cease. Although the Zora are a water-dwelling sort, we came to miss the warmth of the sun and dry winds upon our backs. Alas, as fervent as our desire was, we had no means of stopping the cause of this unprecedented disaster. When all had given up hope, I, Sidon, took it upon myself to invite a Hylian to the domain. This young swordsman of few words was named Link. I trusted him at once, sensing great devotion in his kind eyes. It was immediately clear that my instincts were correct. Thanks to Link, we were able to face the thread head on. Our battle with the source of the disaster was intense by my newfound friend and I refused to yield until we finally triumphed. Sometimes, writen words flow so much more readily than those spoken ... Link, my dearest friend, you are an unparalleled swordsman, and I admire you so very much. He may lack fins and gills, but it matters not. This hero among heroes exudes magnificence tempered with steadiness. Though we are different, our hearts both yearn to serve a higher calling. I learned much from him, and I am eternally grateful. As I recall my best friend, it occurs to me that though the rains have ceased, perhaps a true adventure never does.
Learnings of the Zora, Part Eight The Princess of Hyrule As told by Prince Sidon
One that despicable disaster had ceased to plague Zora's Domain, a distinguished yet humble lady paid us a visit. This young woman who appeared with Link at her side was none other than Princess Zelda of the royal family of Hyrule. "I beg forgiveness," she said earnestly. "Because of the royal family, Princess Mipha ..." She paused, unable to continue. Small, silent teardrops tumbled down her cheek and hit the floor, one after another, each saying a thousand unspaken words. She gently wiped her eyes and lifted her gaze to meet the king's, speaking kind words of gratitude for Mipha's sacrifice. We knew well that what had transpired was the result of a decision shared by the Zora and by Princess Mipha herself. There was no need for the princess of Hyrule's apology, and even less so for her sorrow. King Dorephan, along with the rest of the Zora, were moved by the depth of Princess Zelda's sincerity. She had held that unthinkable disaster at bay for nearly 100 years with nothing more than the sheer force of her own will. Yet she was not prideful. She dutifully set to work, traveling across Hyrule to secure cooperation for the kingdom's restoration. She was adored by all, yet so humble. She possessed an inner strength, but now I am not so certain. I feel a strong calling one day to acquire this same sort of strength within myself.
Learnings of the Zora, Anecdote One The Solid Water and the Fluid Spear As told by Prince Sidon
The Zora are not associated with water because of our dwelling place alone. We each also, to varying extents, possess the ability to actually manipulate water. We use this gift for many purposes. We use it to swim faster, to achieve mighty leaps from the waves below, to gather fish, and so much more. For me, the true awakening of this ability that many of my childhood chums already possessed came upon me quite suddenly. One day as I was training at Veiled Falls, the rain slickened my grasp, causing me to drop my spear. I reached to grab it, but it was already too far away. Soon it would fall to the bottom of the cliff, never to be seen again. I knew that I must take old of it, and at that moment, droplets created a stream extending from my outstretched hand. The water stream twisted and turned until it finally took hold of my falling spear and deftly returned it to my grasp. In that moment, the water was solid and my spear fluid. This sensation forever changed my approach to spearplay. I was reminded of how my sister, Mipha, described it ... and everything clicked. Water and spear became as one. Gaining yet another layer of admiration for my dear sister, I devoted myself to my spear training from then on.
Learnings of the Zora, Anecdote Two The Great Task Entrusted to Me As told by Prince Sidon
I, Sidon, was entrusted with the great task of renovating the Zora stone monuments that had fallen to ruin. There are 11 stone monuments total find in and around Zora's Domain, including the one you are now reading. The former text written by my father, King Dorephan, could not be salvaged, and so sadly it had to be replaced. Despite my royal blood, whispers abound that it is improper for someone my age to write over the king's glorious words. Ah, but do they not realize that it was King Dorephan himself who ordered me to undertake this restoration project? Father says it is not set in stone that I shall be the one to inherit the throne, as it is not a matter of blood alone. If we ask the eternal skies above whether I am fit to rule, they shall remain silent, and so we must look to our fellow Zora. He urged me to use these monuments to share my learnings and speak to our people straight from my heart. Father is older and wiser than I. His sage advice is a gift. As such, I have inscribed my thoughts upon these 11 stones. I do not know how far-reaching my words shall be, but it is my hope that they will reach whoever needs to hear them most. Until one of the descendants writes over my musings many years from now, I pray they resonate with whoever reads them.
WELL there we are, thanks for the history lesson Sidon you absolute sweetie fhjdkdjf i have thoughts and feelings and emotions but i wont make this post any longer than it already is but i love these characters byeeeEEE

@gryphonlover, here you go friend <3
(AO3 link)
Fluffvember prompt - "Us against the world," comforting a loved one
Four was… not in a good mood.
He hadn’t quite parsed out what the issue was. All he knew was that Wind was speaking too loudly, Sky was being too attentive, Warriors was teasing Legend too much, Legend was getting too irritated about it, Twilight was spending too much time with Wild, Wild was being too somber, Hyrule and Time were gone too long—
Clearly, Four just wasn’t in a good mood.
Sighing, the smith walked away from the camp, grabbing his sword as protection and a means to sort this out. When he was far enough away, he gripped the hilt of the blade firmly, eyes squeezed shut as he frowned.
Okay. I need to figure out what’s wrong before I snap at someone.
Drawing the blade, he felt the magic trickle through his arm and into his mind and heart, chiseling away with searing heat until he was ripped apart into four pieces. The transition was never pleasant, but the end result was hopefully helpful.
Red immediately burst into tears.
“What the hell?” Blue asked, startled and irritated. “Could you put up a sign or something before you just explode like that?”
“Okay, okay, what is wrong with us?” Green asked, waving his hands. “Red, why are you crying?”
“Our friend almost died!” Red hiccupped, rubbing his face in an attempt to calm down.
Vio blinked. “Is that what this is about?”
“Of course it is, genius,” Blue fired back. “You think we could get over it in a day just because he got better? He’s still suffering from it.”
“A-at least we made peace with the Champion,” Red added, his stream of tears starting to slow. “B-but… it’s… it’s still a lot…”
Green sighed, looking away. “Yeah… I guess it is.”
“So now what?” Blue huffed. “We duke it out until we’re too tired to be upset?”
“Or we could talk about it,” Red offered feebly.
“We just did!” Blue argued, throwing his hands in the air.
“Emotions aren’t just… that straightforward and you know it,” Vio explained, crossing his arms. “You wouldn’t be pissed if that were the case.”
“That’s literally how the magic makes me,” Blue snapped. “I’m always pissed.”
Green rolled his eyes. “No, you’re not.”
His blue reflection turned to him, face flushed, but the fight blew out of him with a sigh. “I’m just frustrated, okay? Red’s right – that was a lot. And like… there’s still so much to process.”
“Did we do the right thing with Champion?” Vio asked. “Confronting him the way we did?”
“He apologized,” Red reasoned. “Was that not enough? He seemed better.”
“What about Rancher?” Green asked quietly. “Is he really okay?”
“He is,” Vio said firmly. “He is and we know it. He might just heal slowly.”
“That’ll make me sad to see,” Red mumbled.
“It’ll be aggravating to see,” Blue clarified. “He’s a Hero, it isn’t fair to him to be down like this. I want to beat the crap out of that Shadow.”
“The Shadow’s dead.”
“Is he thought? You think he can be defeated that easily?”
“We don’t know anything!”
“What about that dark magic for his transformation? You think that made him more vulnerable? We should talk to him about it!”
“He’s still recovering, it’s too soon for that!”
“But I’m worried!”
Blue growled, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Is this helping or just making things worse?”
“At least we’re getting it out in the open,” Green reasoned with a shrug. “That has to count for something.”
Red watched all of them before hugging himself. “I think… I think no matter what, the important thing is that everyone is better than they were. That has to count for something. We should hold on to that.”
Vio smiled at his red reflection. “He’s right. We’re not going to be able to address everything all at once, and that’s okay. We need to take this one issue at a time. We’ve already worked on mending our relationship with the Hero of the Wilds. That’s a good enough start for me.”
“But I still feel upset,” Blue resisted a little tiredly.
“Maybe y’all just need a hug.”
The four aspects of the Hero jumped, startled, and whirled around at the sound of the familiar voice. Twilight stood in a clearing, eyes a little wider than they should be but smiling reassuringly nonetheless.
“When did you—” Green asked, trying to slow his racing heart.
“Sky had mentioned you’d left camp. I beat Wars here,” Twilight explained lightly. “I’m glad Champion warned me about your ability or I’d be really confused.”
Blue let out a disappointed scoff. “That little snitch.”
“It’s pretty cool, right?” Red asked excitedly.
Twilight chuckled. “Yeah. It is.”
There was a pregnant pause after this, everyone waiting for some sort of way to avoid the suggestion Twilight had made, and the rancher pressed onward. Holding out his arms welcomingly, he tipped his head to the side. “Well?”
The four glanced at each other, red eyes eager, blue defensive, purple curious, and green resolute. Then they gripped their swords in unison, slowly fading back into each other, and Four took a steadying breath as the world pieced itself back into a single image. He felt dizzy for a moment before blinking and looking back at Twilight, who was still waiting, and damn it all if everything he hadn’t just hashed out welled in his heart and soul and begged for comfort nonetheless.
Biting his lip, he slowly made his way to his friend, sinking into the embrace. Twilight held him so tightly, almost tight enough to make breathing hard, but he was warm and there and alive and by the goddesses if that wasn’t reassuring and soothing, Four didn’t know what was.
He was slightly disappointed in himself that he couldn’t handle this alone. Usually the Four Sword helped him hash out these issues in a healthy manner.
But, he supposed as he felt a few trace tears fall, sometimes a hug was just what someone needed.

This is based off of @la-sera's art! Here's the link to the art piece:
tw blood and temporary character death:
“SAILOR!” Warriors yelled as he shielded himself from a Moblin.
He saw the sailor crumple to the ground, the monster looking proud of itself. The captain saw red. Without thinking he dashed to the beast that dared to hurt Wind, his massive blue scarf trailing behind him. His sword ripped through the monster guts and flesh. The monster was dead in mere seconds. A cry from a different monster alerted Warriors and he swiftly dodged an attack. In blind rage he tore at each beast ferociously. Each swing was feral and had no real training attached to it, unlike all the other times the captain fought. The rest of the battle was a blur, but all the enemies dropped to he ground eventually. That was when Warriors realized he had left Wind bleeding on the battleground. “NO!” He shouted, internally cursing at himself.
The captain rushed to the sailor and saw that Wind was on his hands and knees shakily trying to get up but stumbling and falling limply back on the ground. Crimson red liquid was soaking the wet ground beneath the sailor and Warriors stomach churned. Wind hiccuped miserably and Warriors pulled the kid up in his arms and grabbed his long scarf. He wrapped it around Wind and felt the bitter and freezing air, but he didn’t care at all. He just kept holding on tight to the sailor, applying as much pressure as he could as his hands were slowly being covered in red. “Wars…You’re shaking…” Wind said quietly.
Warriors gave a hollow chuckle at the kid’s worry. “I just…feel cold, I’m fine.”
“You liar.” Wind accused, and then coughed suddenly, thick blood starting to gush out of his nose and mouth.
Warriors gripped the kid tighter, eyes going wide. He knew there wasn’t much he could do since they didn’t have any fairies or potions or…really any supplies with them. His mouth opened but nothing came out.
 “Wars?”
“Yes, Wind?”
“If I don’t make it—“
“Wind, stop.”
The captain couldn’t bear the thought of that. Letting the kid…
“Please…Wars…” Wind gave a weak cough.
“…Okay, Wind.” Warriors relented.
“If I don’t make it through this…Tell Aryll I’m sorry…I wasn’t a good big brother to her.” Wind demanded, breaking off with a shudder.
There was a small smile on the kid’s face as tears poured from his eyes. “Hey now, I don’t think she would want that. I know that she would disagree with you.” Warriors tried.
He remembered the time they were at Wind’s Hyrule and Aryll had pulled the captain aside to talk about something.
“You make sure Link stays safe and comes home alive and in one piece, m’kay? He’s the best big brother I could’ve asked for, and I don’t want anything to happen to him!”
“Wars…please…”
“Fine, I will.”
Warriors didn’t know if he was lying or not. Wind inhaled shakily and then gave a forced exhale. The captain looked down at the kid and his worry only grew.
Was…was the sailor truly going to die here? In battle? In a different era, a faraway land that is so far away from his loved ones? No…No…Warriors couldn’t let that happen. It hurt the captain deeply to see Wind’s tiny smile in this moment. Couldn’t the kid see how much he was worth to his sister, to his friends and brothers?
Or did Warriors fail?
“Wars…”
Warriors flinched and looked at the kid. “Yeah?”
“I-I don’t wanna die.” Wind admitted, his voice growing more agitated.
“Hey, bud, you won’t. I-I’ll make sure you stay alive.” Warriors tried to reassure, his heart shattering into pieces for the poor sailor.
Wind didn’t say anything and just weakly held on to the captain’s scarf. A small sob turned into painful bawling and Warriors didn’t know what to do. Could he move with Wind to find the chain? Warriors didn’t know where the group had gone off to so it might take too long. But then again if Warriors didn’t find help soon the sailor would be gone. After hearing another sickly cough, the captain made a decision. “Sailor, I have a plan, okay? We’re going to try and find help and get you all fixed up.” Warriors informed him.
“M’kay.”
The captain slowly sat up while gently holding the kid in his arms. The droplets of rain that were falling from the sky soaked the kid’s hair and tinier droplets slid unto Wind’s face. At this point Warriors couldn’t differentiate between tears and the rain. But he had no more time to dawdle so he started walking, but it felt too slow. He glanced back down upon the sailor and then his expression twisted into anguish. The kid looked to be in so much pain. “Wars…I don’t…I don’t think I’ll…I don’t think I’ll make it.” Wind whimpered.
“Wind…”
“M’sorry.”
The captain’s eyes flashed with despair. “No…I’ll-I’ll find help and you’ll make it.”
“How?”
Warriors choked again like the air had been knocked out of his lungs. How could reassure the kid when he didn’t know that himself? “Captain…”
Warriors swallowed back the feeling of his heart being torn from his chest and bile rising up his now dry throat. He was supposed to be the captain, the commander, the leader even…he was supposed to protect the kid from the unfair reality of being a hero, but here he was feeling like an idiot. Wind made a sad noise and something inside of the captain broke. Slow steps turned into the fastest sprinting as Warriors heart pounded out of his chest. “Hang in there Tune.”
Wind didn’t give a response but Warriors had managed to ignore that.
His legs ached as he had to slow down. He panted heavily and all but collapsed on the ground. How long had he been running through this goddess-forsaken forest, was a question he couldn’t answer. Warriors looked tiredly at the sailor that was bundled in his arms and let out a gasp. “Wind, Wind, open your eyes. Please.”
The kid looked lifeless as he hung limply in the captain’s grasp. “Wind, don’t do this to me. This isn’t funny.” Warriors said, trembling as he searched for a pulse.
But there was none. “Damn it Wind!” Warriors yelled and let go of the body as his shoulders shook.
 H e
                                                           H a d
                                                                                                                              F A I L E D
A raw scream rang throughout the air. The sky thundered harshly as Warriors weeped uncontrollably. His vision was beginning to blur as thick tears gushed out of his eyes and sad noises escaped his throat. Why, why did it have to be Wind? The bright expressive sailor whom everyone had a soft spot for. “Please, sailor, Link, wake up. Tell me this is all just a prank of yours.” Warriors begged, shaking the corpse desperately.
In his mind he knew that the kid was dead but his heart wouldn’t listen. “Link don’t….don’t do this to me!” Warriors shouted.
He heard some light footsteps behind him and jerked around, his hand immediately touching the hilt of his sword. His eyes darted around to see a horde on enemies charging through. His eyes widened and making a quick decision, he fled with the corpse in his bloody arms. “C’mon sailor…we’re…we’re going to make it okay?”
He knew he was talking to a dead kid but he couldn’t stop the words of reassurance flying out of his mouth. He narrowly dodged a bash on the head as he continued to rush across the forest. He pushed away branches and the rain and his tears were making it hard to see properly. The captain could hear the footsteps growing closer and closer and began to panic. His legs were still exhausted and he couldn’t run forever. “Damn it…” He muttered.
A Moblin appeared and tossed its club around menacingly. Warriors could feel red creeping into his vision once more, as he was reminded of why Wind was now….
He leapt at the monster, sword raised, and the air carried him but he just flew past the Moblin and something snagged his tunic. He let out a cry as he fell to the ground. The Moblin seemed to be…laughing at him…Further fueled, the captain rushed back to the enemy and managed to impale the beast, black blood now dripping all over his sword. The Moblin cried out and its red eyes fixated on Warriors. It ran at Warriors and managed to land continuous blows on him. Eventually the captain shoved the Moblin off of him and impaled him again. The Moblin dropped dead. Warriors spat blood out of his mouth and picked up the sailor again. “It’d be a lot more easy if you’d just wake up.” He murmured.
He could just imagine the sailor responding with something like, “Too bad.”
Warriors almost waited for Wind’s lip to begin to move and start talking. But he reminded himself that there were more monsters coming for him and he sighed and started running again. But he didn’t last very long. Too soon, he was out of breath and blood was rushing out of his nose and his mouth. “W…What?” He said.
Suddenly his legs gave out and he started seeing dancing black dots. What was going on? It was just a club that the Moblin was holding earlier…or was it?
O r  w a s  i t?
“CAPTAIN!”
______________________________________________________
“What—we— ”
A groan escaped Warriors as he slowly opened his eyes. When he managed to do that he was met with only light. “Wind’s—he’ll—okay?”
What…?
Wind…Wind…
Warriors gasped and tried to sit up, his arms shaking like they were just barely holding up his weight. “War—Wa—s?”
Who was talking? What were they saying? Warriors blinked confusedly and tried to comprehend everything. What was the last thing he remembered? The Moblin….the rain….the blood….Wind….
He managed to grasp the arm of somebody. “W-Where’s the…the kid?”
“He’s—okay—don’t worry.”
But how was that possible? He had seen the sailor’s chest still and he had seen the sailor’s blood all over him and the ground. “H…How?” Warriors asked.
There were a few moments of silence. “That’s—for—different—”
Warriors furrowed his eyebrows wondering why his ears weren’t picking up everything properly. “———————Rest.”
He obliged and his head lolled back on the surface he was on. His eyes fluttered closed and he took a steady breath as sleep enveloped him.
______________________________________________________
Each time he woke up was a blur. The captain remembered swallowing something, fuzzy voices, and his heart pounding against his chest. While he was unconscious nightmares of Wind dying haunted him. When he had recovered enough he was able to understand what was going on around him. “Has Wind woken up yet?” Twilight murmured.
Warriors shot up and looked at the rancher with confusion. “Well Warriors certainly has.” Time chuckled.
“W-wind?” Warriors said.
Time sighed. Warriors started fearing the worst, had they not managed to save him? Were they lying or had he been dreaming when they said the sailor was okay? “He’s just resting right now, and….getting better.” Time said choosing his words very carefully.
“WIND GET BACK HERE!” Someone yelled.
Suddenly the kid came around the corner and into the room, his mouth slightly open and his eyes wide. Wind was in a different tunic that Warriors didn’t quite recognize but there were a few bandages there too. “WARS!” Wind cried out and sprinted towards the captain.
The air was knocked out of his lungs as he was hugged fiercely by the sailor. Warriors took one long look at the kid and started sobbing uncontrollably. Time opened his mouth to protest but Twilight stopped him. Warriors cradled Wind and began mumbling apologies. “What the fuck are you apologizing for?” Wind demanded.
“Language.” Twilight called.
“I-I couldn’t save…I couldn’t save you…I saw you die…a-and…” Warriors broke off.
Wind gave a wet laugh. “You did everything you could. That’s all that matters to me.”
Warriors gave a heartwarming smile as he held the sailor closer, beyond grateful that he was with him. “You scared me.” He accused in a teasing tone.
“No you scared me!” Wind huffed.
“You both scared each other and all the rest of us.” Time said.
There were footsteps pounding outside the door and suddenly the whole chain was there, crashing into the ground. “Get off of me!” Legend yelped.
Once everyone recollected themselves they looked at both Wind and Warriors and gasped happily. “You’re awake!” Sky grinned.
Soon the sailor and the captain were tackled with hugs. Time and Twilight eventually joined in the group hug. Warriors glanced at the kid who was giggling and purposely making the veteran slightly mad at him. Soon everything would be back to normal…
Or so he thought….

Broken Promises
Part sixteen to Hair Holds Memories

Your grandmother always warned you about fairies and fae-folk.
She would tell you that they were cunning, wicked tricksters. She would tell you that they would make you fall into their traps with beautiful eyes and heartwarming smiles. She would lecture you for leaving pies in the window for fear of luring one in with the sweet smell. But the one thing she would always reiterate was simple.
Never make a promise with a fae.
Hyrule laughed along with Legend and Time as he scooped more sugar into his already nearly thick water. The music was loud even from their corner in the pub. Warriors and Twilight were still being swung around in front of the band. Wind’s laughter was loud enough to carry across the large room, and the rest were busy in their own conversations and stories. Legend stood from his seat, the chair scrapping across wood.
“I’m going to get a refill. Either of you need anything?” He asked. Time held up his empty pint glass, asking for him to grab another for him. Hyrule held up his sugar water, taking a sip out of it.
“I’m good for now. Thanks, Lege.” Legend waved him off before disappearing into the busy pub.
Steady conversation fell between the two men that were left. “We didn’t get to do much when we were here last time. It’s a nice village.” Rulie noted, adjusting his falling flower crown.
Time nodded, “It is. They have nice traditions it seems.” He lifted a hand to his own crown, rubbing a pedal between his fingers. It came off, settling to his palm. He looked at it for a long moment before letting it fall to the ground.
“Maybe it’s strange to say, but I hope we get to stay for at least a while. We’ve been jumping a lot as of late.” Hyrule took a long drink before setting it back on the table, wrapping his hands around the cool glass.
“It’s not strange at all. We could all use a little break.”
“I guess when you put it that way it’s not so stran-“ Hyrule stopped talking.
There was a tug in his chest.
He caught his breath after a moment, looking around the room rapidly. Where were you? He stood his seat falling backwards as he did so.
“Traveler? What’s wrong?” Time asked, looking up to him.
He ignored him, trying to focus over all of the chaos around him. If he focused, he should be able to- there. Outside.
Another tug.
It felt like someone was grabbing his heart and squeezing. He took as deep of a breath as he could, getting away from the table. “I’ll be back.” He mumbled out to Time.
He pushed his way through the crowds and out the door, the cool night air brushing against him as he did. He looked to the street. Not two shops down, in the middle of the street, three figures were stood. You, Legend and someone he didn’t know.
It grabbed his heart again.
He hurried to you, coming up from behind the stranger, getting a better view of the scene as he did so. You were clinging onto Legend’s arm, tears pricking at your eyes. Legend’s face was one of pure hatred, something he had only seen during fights with the shadow. And the stranger, a man he realized, seemed rather unassuming. Standing a few feet away from the both of you, talking with his hands.
“It’s just been a while, Y/N. I thought we could catch up now that you’re back in town. No one knew what happened to you, you just disappeared.” The man spoke.
“They clearly don’t want to talk to you. So beat it.” Legend spat out, leaning forward with his words.
The man put his arms up, “I didn’t know you had a damn body guard now. What, you can’t use your own words?”
Hyrule came around your other side, startling you slightly before you breathed a slight sigh of relief. “What’s going on?” He asks quietly, placing a hand on your back.
“You have two? At least this one doesn’t look like it’s going to try to rip my neck out.”
“I wouldn’t have to try very hard, fucker.” Legend shot back, pulling towards him again. The tears fell over onto your cheeks as you looked to Hyrule.
He looked to his predecessor, “Legend, let’s get back to the pub and get everyone else. We can go back to the house. It’s late.”
“I’m not fucking going anywhere until this guy’s taken care of, Rulie. I’ve said it countless times before. As soon as we get back here and I find him, he’s dead. Why don’t you two go?” Legend’s eyes were staring straight ahead into the man’s.
The pieces finally clicked together. This was him. This was the man who would beat you. This was the man who would tell you pretty little lies to bring you back into his grasp. The reason for the bruises littering you when they first met you. This was Aldric.
Pull
Hyrule’s gaze fell a shade darker onto the man. “Y/N, why don’t you go get Time? We’ll stay here.” You looked to him, wide eyed.
“I-“
He tapped a finger onto your back, a gentle little nudge to go.
“I asked y’all not to do anything.” You whispered out.
“And we aren’t. We are just having a conversation. I think Time should join in on it too, is all.”
You didn’t believe that for a second. Nodding slowly, you detached yourself from Legend and walked behind him, going around and then towards the pub. Once you were out of grabbing range you ran as fast as you could the short distance.
You stumbled through the door, the band still playing loudly, Wind’s laugh echoing through the room. You beelined to the table in the corner. Time was still there, tapping his hand to the music. He looked up to you, his smile falling instantly when he saw your terror-struck face. He rose, coming to you.
His hand fell to your cheek, wiping away a tear. “What happened?” His eye searched your face.
“He- Lege- Rul-“ You couldn’t get the words out, tears coming faster.
“Take me to them.” He grabbed your hand, interlacing the fingers together before following you back the way you came. Once the two of you reached a gap in people, he scoped the pub, looking for another member of the chain. His gaze met Sky’s first. He tilted his head to the door, motioning for him to get everyone and come on. He followed you out the door and onto the street where the yelling was now louder.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about!” Aldric argued.
Time glanced down at you, “Is that-“ Your muffled sob told him all he needed to know. The two of you came back around the group, avoiding letting you too close to Aldric. You stood behind Time as he stood between Legend and Hyrule.
“How many guard dogs do you have, Y/N?” He snapped out.
“My name is Time. I understand there’s some trouble.” Time crossed his arms. Even without his armor on he was quite the imposing character.
“There wasn’t trouble. I was just trying to catch up with my friend here.” You whimpered a bit at the use of the word before Aldric continued. “And then pink hair here started trying to bite.”
Legend narrowed his eyes as Time spoke again. “I understand. But you have to realize that Y/N here didn’t want to speak with you. I figure that’s fairly obvious from their reaction.”
“Yeah, because you lot aren’t letting them.”
Time tried not to scoff. “Right, that’s why.” He noticed out of the corner of his eye a few of the others making their way over. “I hate to cut this short, but we are going to be going.”
“We aren’t done here. I need to speak with Y/N.” Aldric’s words were short.
“Anything you have to say to them you can say to us instead.” Time countered. Wind and Sky reached them first, coming to stand near Legend.
“What’s going on here?” Sky asked, looking the new man up and down.
“I’ll explain later. For now, can you and Wind take Y/N home?” Time says.
Sky nods, coming to you and wrapping an arm around you, leading you around the group, Wind follows, watching the man.
Aldric watches as you walk close to him, you keep your head down, avoiding him.
“I said we aren’t done.” Aldric reached out, grabbing one of your wrists from your side. The gripping pain shot through your hand before you could pull away and back into Sky.
C H O K E
Hyrule’s arm burned as the second mark glowed red against his skin. Though he didn’t feel a thing. His eyes reflected the fire burning in his hands as he grabbed the back of Aldric’s shirt, throwing him to the ground.
“Hey, what the fu-“ He stopped once he met Hyrule’s face. Red, glowing veins inching their way up his cheeks towards his eyes as he walked towards him.
Hyrule could faintly hear his name being called from around him, but he couldn’t respond, he didn’t want to respond. Every fiber in his body burned with rage, fire and heat. The magic from the broken spell urging him on.
“Sky, Wind, get them out of here!” Time called out, hurrying to reach Hyrule. “Legend, come on help me with him!”
Legend stood in place, watching the scene unfold. “I say we let the fool die.”
Time hissed, reaching Rulie and grabbing his arm. He threw his hand back, a burn etched into it. “By the gods-“
“What the hell is goin’ on?!” Twilight shouted as he rushed over, the missing Link’s following after him.
“Hyrule broke some kind of spell and is trying to kill this guy. Help me.” Time explained.
“Who is this guy?” Four asked, running over to the scene.
“And why aren’t you doing shit, Vet?!” Warriors shouted back at him.
Hyrule grabbed Aldric’s leg, causing him to scream out in pain, a bubbling burn scared into him.
“Because that’s Aldric.” Legend stated.
Four froze, looking to Hyrule. His sleeve was up high enough that he could see that one of the marks was glowing bright red. “Kill him.” Shadow whispered in the back of his mind. His hands shook as he watched Hyrule grab the man by the neck and raise him from the ground.
Twilight went to grab Hyrule but much to the same problem Time had. “Gods be damned get me some rope!” He shouted to the group.
Four stood next to Legend, his eyes wide as Blue explained exactly how they should do it.
Wild found a rope and tossed it to Twilight. He tied it into a make shift lasso as fast as possible before throwing it over Hyrule. He pulled him with it, which caused him to drop Aldric’s throat. Aldric fell to the ground, coughing and struggling for air. Hyrule fell back, hitting the ground. Twilight kicked him onto his stomach before he could move and tied his arms and legs together, careful not to touch his skin.
The group looked to each other, then to the choking man on the ground.
“We really should kill you.” Warriors says, walking over to him and squatting down next to him. He grabbed a handful of his hair, forcing him to look up at him. “But we are under exclusive orders not to. But just know, if it was up to any of us, you would be pig food by now.” He spat in his face, pushing him over.
“What are we supposed to do about Rulie?” Wild asks the group.
“We can probably borrow a cart from someone for the night and put him in there. We can’t carry him. Anyone know anything about this weird spell?” Time spoke.
“I don’t know much.” Four’s voice was quiet. “But it shouldn’t last much longer. Maybe an hour I would assume.”
Time nodded, “Alright. Well then, I’m headed to the house to check on Y/N. You all handle this, I trust I can leave you to that.” He patted Warriors on the shoulder as he walked the opposite direction in the street.

🥺 I feel bad for hyrule since that's gotta suck, I feel like he is gunna be monitored by reader till he is good since he is so vulnerable and needs help so reader is gunna probably cuddle and keep their eyes on him and just be like a free nurse since poor boy doesn't deserve this. When sages tries to get cuddles from reader by telling them that he is getting phantom pains again which ends up him having to share reader with hyrule and with the fact the chain almost always have their eyes on reader and so notice sages tactics and how he and hyrule easily get cuddles from reader because of the pains and reader wanting to help them and some of the chain might complain about things like headaches or other things to reader as to retaliate against sage or just point sages actions.
👾 anon here and not request just ideas to offer
YOUR IDEAS ARE SO GOOD 👾 AND YOU'RE SO RIGHT ADKSNVSNK.
They would play it up as much as they can. in the end it just turns into a giant pile with reader at the centre so all of the chain can touch them. And they each have their own way of playing up their injuries. But at the same time the chain probably aren't pleased with Hyrule since reader's given him their bed till he can recover, and they don't like the fact their beloved is most likely sleeping on the floor so that they each have somewhere nice to sleep, with sage most likely to drag them into sharing with him.
Because this is such a good idea I've been brainrotting over it since I got this ask, I've got some Hc's for what each of them are dealing with, they'll go from who handles the shift worst to best! I also know you mentioned this wasn't a request but I just couldn't help myself 😭😭
Tumblr media
✦ Sage and Rulie have it pretty fleshed out with how they've got their arm and entire body each, and there are points they don't even need to exaggerate how bad they're feeling cause they got hit the hardest upon ending up at readers. only Sage has far more time to adjust than any of the others, so by the time they arrive he has to act like he's gotten worse again for attention. That he'd get in a heartbeat if he only asked.
✦ wild has it bad as well, getting full body aches from how his body is adapting. the shrine probably left him with some remnant magic that is leaving him much weaker in this world now that its gone. Sage also gets this but less due to being out of the shrine longer, his arm also gets more attention anyway as it leaves him much more vulnerable
✦ Twilight and Legend have similar issues to each other, from not being able to access their animal forms anymore rip wolfie granted Twi gets it far worse with migraines as well from his head injury during his adventure. It feels similar to chilblains for both of them while they gradually adjust from their withdrawals.
✦ time would have it pretty bad from losing whatever the fierce deity has done to him, as well as the loss of any magic from being here. he's also an old man so he probably has joint issues sadcsdpvm
✦ sky most likely gets asthma attacks more commonly, not that he didn't get these in Hyrule but the increased pollution is so bad on his lungs that getting him an inhaler was the number one priority when he ended up in readers world alongside something to soothe Rulie.
✦ Four still has the colours and get migraines from them, just now its not possible for them to split. Nothing really affects him too badly but he can still get readers attention with what he does get.
✦ wars and wind never had anything that could really affect them badly, to begin with - they just tend to fake injuries and whine if they don't get as much attention as they need though.
✦ of course, there are some things that affect all of them such as losing their hylian features and generally just being weaker for a period while they adjusted to this new world, some just taking it far worse than the others did.

Dawn part 4 analysis, here we go! At it again with my ramblings.
Starting off with THE GLORIOUS RETURN OF THE MAILMAN! The moment I saw the flag I was like :O HE’S BACK!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I also got the blue’s clues mail song stuck in my head)
Tumblr media
Hey look, it’s Warriors’ money! And the inkeeper who’s happily admiring the ridiculous amount of rupees Warriors now does not own!
Rip Warriors’ money. It will be dearly missed.
Also no vacancy?? I mean, it’s possible there’s other people staying there, or it’s just a small inn, but... it kinda looks like Warriors literally bought every available room there was. Mad lad.
Tumblr media
I (like everybody else lol) took a crack at figuring out who’s signature was who’s, based on their respective game’s Hylian texts/scripts, order of when they got there, and the OG tags on the comic. So here’s my best guesses—
1. Time is first, which makes sense based on him being the one to take Twilight to the inn
2. Hyrule appears to be next— his games don’t have a written script, but the hylian here is close to Legend’s, so I’m assuming it’s his, based on the fact that he was part of the next group to get to the inn.
3. Four is who I’m least sure about I’ll admit, but seeing as how he came with Hyrule, (and he’s the only Link left I couldn’t identify at all), I’m assuming it’s his.
4. Warriors we know for sure, since the tags say this signature is his. He gets a shout out for being the only Link who can actually write in the lines.
5. Wind seems to be next, as his hylian is very close to what’s here (his signature partially obscures Warriors’ XD)
6. Legend is who I’m going with for this one, but I’ll admit it could be Wild’s since their script is pretty darn close. But once again, based on when they all got to the inn, Legend would make the most sense to be here.
7. Sky is definitely here. His hylian is very unique compared to the others (I think it’s my favorite)
8. Wild is probably next, but same case as Legend, they could be swapped. But once again, probably not, since Wild was the last to get inside.
9. Twilight bringing up the rear! His hylian is unmistakable, and it makes sense that he’d mark his name last. I don’t think he could handle it until he woke up that morning, though I do wonder which arm he wrote it with...
(Rip Mr. Mailman in trying to figure all this out)
Moving on!
Tumblr media
It’s gotta be close to mid-morning by now based on the light, but Sky obviously does not handle waking up at dawn well. It’ll be interesting to see if he stays sleepy during the rest of this arc, or if he'll wake up a bit.
(Side note, Sky looks so soft and fluffy here, I want to hug him)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sky is so relatable in this update, he’s got some serious “I have no idea what’s going on” vibes. That first one he's got such a deer in the headlights look XD
The mailman is just like “you! I’ve been looking for you! Great to see you!” and Sky’s just “I have never met this man in my life” (probably forgot he actually did see him once (because he’s sleepy))
Tumblr media
Four letters, all different languages and dialects... I’m guessing at least one Zelda based on the seal on that blue letter (it seems fancier to me), but I don’t know about the rest. I would guess Malon for one, and maybe another Zelda? Warriors or Wild or Four’s Zelda maybe? Maybe Twilight got a letter from someone in Ordon, or the Resistance!
Only thing I do know is that there’s probably not one for Sky, since he wasn’t immediately like “letter for me! :D”
Tumblr media
Four trying to do something nice and fix Wild’s sword and this guy just laughs at him, rude 😤 At least he didn’t make a short joke, which was honestly what I was expecting. I mean I get knowing that your equipment won’t be enough for the job, but sheesh.
(Also the blacksmith’s goggles look a bit like Gondo’s in skyward sword’s, plus the ones the rescue knights wear, thought that was interesting).
Tumblr media
(Cool pose mode: engaged)
I love this panel!! They all decided to follow Four and help him out just like they did last time, fix the sword and get Wild a good, reliable weapon.
I’ve also never noticed how similar these guy’s hair looks before, especially Warriors and Hyrule’s— if Rulie’s hair was a little shorter and blonde, it would be pretty near identical. Very interesting...
(Plus Wind has the funniest expression, he's so cute)
Tumblr media
We interrupt this rambly analysis to bring you a brief moment of me yelling about Warriors' smile ABHDGFSFKHSBBG LOOK AT HIM that stupid cocky grin and the way he's rolling up his sleeve I'm *swoon*
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Four absolutely losing it over Warriors’ jab about teamwork is SO funny, Captain you have no idea how good your joke was. (also Four, bud, you good? Little hysterical there pal)
Also he looks so happy!!! Compare that to any of the faces he was making the night before, he's doing so much better. I’m so glad he’s happy and smiling now, even if it was just at a dumb joke :)
Tumblr media
I don’t even have anything to say about this panel. Just look at it. Glorious.
And one last thing...
Tumblr media
MULTILINGUAL WARRIORS HOLY CROW that's such a cool trait to give him, I am in love with it now that's awesome.
An amazing update as always, it was fantastic all around <3

@cantankerouscanuck
There were still things that put the Chain on edge.
Surprisingly; because they'd been through some wild stuff, individually and together.
Sudden appearance of a portal? They could handle that. They'd gotten almost used to it, by now. Only almost, but almost.
No, the weird part, which made the nine heroes draw out their swords in the blink of an eye to point their blades at the brand new threat and Skull Kid's pupils thin into slits as they hid behind their larger friends' legs, was that from the strange gateway into who knows what dimension emerged a being they weren't even sure they could have ever dreamed, not even after the biggest, most uncoordinated, stomach-ache worthy supper of their lives.
Its elongated head was bone white, with red eyes and an enormous mouth of teeth; its body seemed at first deathly emaciated beneath the dark mantle, but a more careful look revealed that it was more or less only a skeleton - a metallic one at that, with incomplete hands and sharp feet, similar to the talons of a bird of prey.
Whatever the hell that thing was looked at them nice and long, taking them in one by one.
"Oh," he finally said, clanging his horrible teeth together in dismay: "Oh, you are hideous. Disgusting, even."
"Never look in a mirror then," Four quipped: "You'll get a heart attack."
"A mirror? Why would I do that? Ah, I see, I see, that's an insult, I understand - but you see, you horrible fleshy thing," the stranger replied with no apparent malice in his voice, in a rambling tone, "I have seen myself - well, not since this mask was fused to my head, but I have, and you will have to understand that while I do indeed have a horrendous face not even my own other half could love, you are made entirely of meat. Of flesh. Of organic material. No such thing as a piece of metal on your bodies except for your swords. No masks at all. Not even a glimmer of iron on you - although I do like your fabrics, I do, they'd make for quite a nice cape, and - oh, you do have armor, yes, you do, that you do... You won't mind me taking it all from you once I'm done killing you all, will you?"
The nine of them tightened the grip on their weapons, making them glint in the sunlight.
"I'll take it as a maybe."
Wind glared at him up and down a couple times: "What even are you?"
"A Skakdi, or the half of one, to be more precise," the being answered as if any of that made perfect sense. He turned to Time: "You should be shorter. And less meaty. And less appalling, but only slightly."
"Funny. I don't think we've ever met." the older warrior replied curtly.
"We haven't? Oh, I suppose we would not have, not here. Such a shame, truly. I didn't like that other you at all. I would have hoped not to meet another one in the next place I ended up in."
"Sucks to be you."
"Indeed it sucks."
"And you got a name?" pressed Four a little more rudely than usual. "Or at least half of one?"
The creature paused. His strange hand tapped on his chin pensively, as though he honestly needed to think about it for a couple seconds.
"A name, a name, a name..." he mumbled, until finally he seemed to remember: "Ah! Of course I do, of course. I gave it to me myself, after all - it's Vezon, with a Z, which means double, because I am a double, ripped away from a big blue brute, Vezok, also with a Z--"
"With a K," Sky corrected.
Legend elbowed him.
"What?" Vezon asked.
"Vezok with a K," Hyrule repeated helpfully.
Legend elbowed him as well.
From threatening and unpredictable, their opponent completely shifted his demeanor: now he stood a little hunched, arms limp down his sides, head tilted, face a bit scrunched into a confused expression.
"Yes, I do know Vezok is spelled with a K. My name is Vezon, though."
"You mentioned Vezon with a Z, but Vezok also has a Z." Sky explained.
"Yes, I know that too."
"That's not a difference."
"I'm aware. What is your point?
This time it was Hyrule who clarified: "If you don't want us to call you Vezok, you should specify that Vezon is spelled with an N and Vezok is spelled with a K."
"Why would I do that?"
"Because that's the difference between the two names. It sets them apart."
Vezon seemed floored.
"I did not think about that," he admitted. "That does seem more useful."
"This guy tells us upfront he wants to kill us to loot our corpses and you start arguing with him on spelling?" Warriors took the chance to hiss at his fellow heroes while the creature was distracted.
Sky raised his shoulders defensively: "It made no sense! It was bugging me!"
Wild, who had some amount of brain damage due to caramelizing for about a hundred years in the rebirth oil, decided he had enough experience on the matter to ask the half Skakdi with a hint of genuine concern: "Are you like. Alright?"
"Oh, yes!" the being replied: "I am insane."
That did explain a variety of things.
Skull Kid (who, as they were wont to do, had snuck away from their friends so quietly that their absence had gone completely undetected in order to investigate possibly deadly things on their own) sniffed at Vezon's arm. Based on their furrowed expression and squinted eyes, the scent was less than enjoyable.
The mechanical creature turned to them, and widened his awful grin.
"My dear! You still look the same! Sort of," he croaked out almost happily. His incomplete hand prodded at the wooden head, specifically interested in the mouth area: "You're still non organic. Mostly, I mean, you still have all that horrid plant-life on you, but you're not as immensely horrid as these fellows here... You are much shorter though. And much quieter. And you still don't have a mouth, do you? Ah, such a shame, such a shame, I was hoping in one of these universes you'd have a nice set of teeth for once, you know - maybe I would manage to rip them out of you nice and clean so I can jam them in your jaw once I finally get the chance to pry your skull open and-"
Skull Kid's razor sharp teeth bit down on his palm.
Vezon's head glowed suddenly: he barely had time to shriek a blood-curling A-- that he was already gone, disappearing in the fraction of a second.
The imp's teeth clattered close around the empty air. They looked around, confused.
Nope. The guy wasn't coming back.
"Well," Twilight hollered loudly to break the silence: "Guess that's over."
"Did the Goddesses just think it was getting a little chummy around here? Did they figure we were getting bored and so threw... That, at us?" Four wondered aloud in genuine bewilderment.
"He tastes like metal." Skull Kid informed them. "And he has tendons."
"That's great, Sweet Pea."
"I think I have some in my mouth."
"Ah, fuck-"
"Again?"
"Here, come over here..."

Todays rip: 02/05/2024
The Great Weed
Season 1 No Album Release (Read More)
Ripped by toonlink
youtube
Chat, I'll be real - It's been a long day for me today. Lots of shit just didn't want to work. I had a bigger post planned, but it'll have to wait for tomorrow. Sometimes, you just gotta return to the simple stuff. That simple stuff is what Season 1 of SiIvaGunner is filled with - but if there's anyone who could make the simplest of concepts work, it was toonlink. Dr. Soulja, by the very same ripper, still stands as one of the most effective rips on the entire channel, but for my money...The Great Weed is where it's at. Delightfully simple, yet never fails to put a smile on my face.
As I've clarified with many of Season 1's rips in particular, its important to remember that these videos were uploaded before SiIvaGunner as a concept was really known at all to the wider internet. Wheras today we see a lot of rips made far more to impress with their quality rather than to solely catch viewers off-guard, a la Sweatpants Select and Luna, mi Amor - in 2016, the novelty of the surprise was CORE to the rip-making process. Gags like Live and Ooooooooooooooh worked so well specifically because of how innocuous they appeared - the video looks like any other YouTube upload of Live and Learn would, and the featured joke only kicks in deep enough into the rip to where the average listener will have tabbed over to another window. But what makes rips like The Great Weed work so well, part of Toonlink's pioneering magic in a way, is how the joke only served to enhance the listening experience in a way that's still incredibly funny.
Much like the aforementioned Live and Learn, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker's The Great Sea theme is one that surely sits as a nostalgic core memory to many - the music to exploring the vast seas of a flooded Hyrule dominates much of Wind Waker's playtime. It has such a majestic opening, such a way of putting you at ease right away...and then, right as you're lulled to tranquility, you notice the additional backing instruments, you notice them increasing in volume - and before its had time to sink in that something's wrong, the video changes to the coolest fucking thing you've ever seen. It's of a bunch of people sandboarding (that is, snowboarding in the sand!!), taken directly from the video "Dank ass sandboarding son". The reason for said video reference is of course the song used, I Smoke Weed by Chrome, being featured therein - but the way its used in The Great Weed gives the song and attached video an entirely different vibe.
Because like, as I said, it's that atmosphere and vibe attached to and created by The Great Sea that's made it such an enduring tune, and it somehow manages to work that magic in here as well. That sort of "relaxed majesty" to the theme takes a video and song that, otherwise feel almost like they're trying a bit *too* hard to be cool, and effortlessly turns it into something so joyous, fun in the most playful way possible. The mashed-up-with song's declarations of smoking weed go from sounding almost boastful, to sounding playfully self-congratulatory - does that make sense to anyone else? There's just such whimsy and fun to The Great Sea as a theme, paired with the video depicting an equally great sea of sand and the people who explore it for fun, it transforms the vibe of the entire video into something you just can't help but smile watching.
It's the kind of rip I've sent to countless friends in my time, the kind of joke everyone can understand. Without having ever heard I Smoke Weed, you've likely heard The Great Sea theme in a YouTube video here or there at one point - and you understand just how funny the mix of majestic sailing music paired with DANK SANDBOARDING is - althewhile admiring just how dank that sandboarding do be. Its hardly the most meaningful rip visuals out there, nowhere near something like i love(d) you - but god it makes the bit land so much harder. Those visuals were an amazing way to introduce the joke to unsuspecting viewers 8 years ago, and even in today's SiIvaGunner-aware landscape, it helps in keeping The Great Weed as a super entertaining experience. And whenever I DO manage to catch people off-guard with the rip, using it to introduce the channel to new friends, it brings just as big a smile to face as it brings to theirs.
Oh, by the way: shoutouts to the Raft Ride rip lmao for unintentionally referencing this rip seven years after the fact. Seeing that during the Raftmageddon may honestly have been the main factor for me deciding to cover this rip LOL.

This is my first time writing ANYTHINGN like this but I desperately needed to write that bloody kiss so here it is finsihed!!
This was bad
This was bad bad
Hyrule’s throat was pulsing it felt like he couldn’t get any air into his lungs and if he so much as tried to talk he would start choking. Everything was going on too fast, it wasn’t that long ago that they had been ambushed by some bokoblins and were caught off gaurd, there was minor injuries here and there the worst being Twilight who had gotten hit in the head after pushing Sky out the way from being hit from behind.
It wasn’t until after that Hyrule had felt the symptoms rising, his mouth being abnormally dry but yet still watering, the constant need to run off into the woods away from watchful eyes and to replenish himself with some blood but he couldn’t they were all supposed to be resting and if he was to run off into the woods it wouldn’t be long until someone came looking for him
That conversation would be a mess.
But he was so thirsty…it felt like he hadn’t eaten in weeks and if he doesn’t get some blood into his system right now he might just pass out on the spot—
“Hyrule?”
He looked up into your eyes completely forgetting his surroundings after being lost in his head, your voice was like heaven to him, every time he heard your voice his day would immediately get better, but today just wasn’t it
He nodded to you refusing to speak in case his voice gave out mid sentence, you didn’t seem to mind though you smiled in his direction and gestured your head next to him, asking if you could sit with him and honestly, who is he to say no to you?
“How you feeling ‘Rule?”
‘Good’ he signs back not feeling up to speak just yet.
You squint your eyes towards him, looking him up and down trying to see any flaws in the way he acts, you noticed how pale he was looking not like him at all. Your eyes widen realizing why he looked the way he did but you couldn’t be certain until you asked him.
“Is it-“ you hesitate not sure how to word your question, you only recently found out about Hyrule’s condition and his deal with blood after a very interesting encounter in the woods…that poor bokoblin, you clear your throat and ask again “Do you need blood?”
He coughs, not really expecting you to ask that question but nods either way although rather shyly as he’s still getting used to someone knowing about him needing blood to practically survive. You look around camp trying to see who’s around Warriors and Four went around camp to scout and see if there are any more monsters lurking about, Sky was sitting next to Twilight fretting over him about taking the hit for him claiming that he would’ve been fine he merely shrugs it off.
Legend is stitching up some clothing that unfortunately had gotten ripped during their battle focusing long and hard and making sure the stitches are perfect, Time, Wind and Wild are all discussing dinner around the fire paying no mind to their surroundings.
This was perfect, no one was paying attention to you two right now so if you got this done quick Hyrule will be back on his feet in no time, you dig into your boot and pull out your pocket knife that you have in case of emergencies and very carefully cut into your hand. The blood slowly oozes out dripping onto the ground you turn to Hyrule as he ogles your hand mouth practically watering at the sight of your blood.
“Drink” you say calm and collected, Hyrule jerks back eyes wide as he takes in what you just said he regains his composure and finally speaks, “I can’t do that! This is your blood! I’ll starve if I have to but I’m not going to drink your blood (Name)”
His stubbornness can be cute at times but this was not one of those times, Hyrule was starving and if he didn’t get any blood into his system soon he could pass out or worse die if he refused to intake any blood. So you resolved to the next best thing you brought your hand to your mouth and started sucking the blood out of your hand, Hyrule stares dumbfounded at what you are doing before he can even get a word out you’re grabbing him from behind his head and pushing your lips onto his.
His eyes widen almost comically wide and nearly choked as you open his mouth with your tongue and force your blood into his the kiss is electrifying he’s never felt anything so good in his entire life, even better than blood itself, he takes the whole thing in with stride if the others are looking then that’s something he could deal with later but right now it’s just you and him and the bloody kiss you are sharing together.
Your blood tastes sweet on his tongue, like sugar water and he easily gets addicted, he kisses back with full force and gets every last drop of blood from your mouth. It ends too soon you pull back leaving him wanting more and chasing after your lips, you giggle at him and kiss his cheek, nose and forehead, pulling back you notice how red he has gotten if you thought Legends tunic was red than you thought wrong because the face of Hyrule’s face was red red.
“You feeling better now?” You ask a slight smirk to your face as you take in his reactions, he stutters as he speaks barely getting out a proper sentence. “Y-yeah! Much better…definitely n-not gonna lose my composure or something cause that would be crazy! R-right? Haha..”
You smile before getting up and walking away towards Sky and asking for some bandages for your hand, Hyrule watches you as you walk away and sighs heavily he didn’t want to taste your blood at all, you were the last person he would want to take blood from but since you had been so kind in giving him a taste well…
He doesn’t think he’ll be taking blood from bokoblins for a while now.
I ONLY JUST NOW REALIZED HOW LONG THIS IS OH GOD I HOPE YOU LIKED IT…
MY FRIEND THIS WAS BEAUTIFUL AND I LOVED EVERY LAST SECOND OF IT
HIM GETTING AWKWARD AFTER IT ALL IS SO CUTE TOO IUWFHFIPUFFW MY BOY

Major Tears of The Kingdom Spoilers while I act a sentimental fool and nerd with a "what if" scenario
Tumblr media
Okay, so I was thinking (oh God not again) about the Divine Beasts and the Light Dragon.
If you don't know about the deal with the Light Dragon yet and don't want to be spoiled, scroll away sweet summer child! Same goes for the final battle in Tears of the Kingdom!
So it really does bother me that the divine Beasts and the champions (baring Mipha) are just??? Gone??? Like, everyone acts like they never existed?!? And it's unclear if Link in ToTK went through BoTW cause so much of the landscape is different?!? The shrine of awakening is straight up gone, the ancient towers missing, and you don't have any of your shit but the horses?!? Why?!?!?
Like, Tulin (my precious baby who has done no wrong, ever) is referred to as the first Rito to create his own wind but like.... RIVALI DID THAT?!? Like, he had to be squat so maybe they mean in midair but still?!? And Yonobu has a slightly different ability from the shield, like he lost it or something?!? Why?!?
And the divine Beasts are totally gone, no one mentions them and it's not like they were small?!?
Where did they go?!?
Naturally, I had a fun idea for a little... Fixy fix.
Imagine if, when Hyrule Castle went up (again) and all that shit started up, the Divine Beasts were still parked right where they were when you defeated Calamity Ganon (maybe his spirit self and defeating the calamity is why hydrated Ganon has to hide his ass away under the castle on top of being bent over by Rauru for thousands of years--yeah I said what I said and I know exactly how that sounds.
But they didn't activate. They were totally silent while their respective people suffered. And because of that, the races assumed they'd been abandoned by their protectors (baring Mipha, who the Zora assumed she'd simply fulfilled her duty with the end of the Calamity and moved on). And that's why they don't talk about the champions aside from maybe a few hushed comments, a bit bitter that they'd been left to fend for themselves.
And as you fight the area's bosses, there is like, a midway point where suddenly the Divine Beasts jolts and fires a single attack, triggering the second stage before powering down again. When you beat the boss, the Divine Beasts shudder back online and trample over to the nearest chasm, diving in. Maybe a stray voice line from the previous champion about it not being over yet--referring to the round two fight below in the Depths.
And the Divine Beasts are understandably fucked up from the fall, eventually you find them near the boss area.
I thought it'd be cool if Vah Medo was partially frozen over by Colgera with one of the weak spots now over the engine and inaccessible to be hit, so it's left for last. And when you do go to try and bust it open, a sudden updraft sends you flying as it explodes, Ghost Rivali mocking you for needing his help. Beast defeated once and for all (the respawn is a normal variant), you receive the Rivali's Gale again accessed the same way as in BoTW so it doesn't mess with Tulin's Vow.
Vah Naboris is grounded, legs broken (RIP) and the Gibdo Queen almost sneaks up on you but a bolt stops her. Halfway part is the Queen lurching to his inside Naboris' chest cavity while shooting out spawns perhaps? And going in to kick ass until the health is gone triggers a cutscenes of Naboris powering up and electrocuting the shit outta here. Urbosa giving you her lighting attack, letting Riju's be a long range attack and Urbosa being close range area of effect.
Vah Rudania perhaps triggering a spray of lazers or trapping the Gohma? Maybe it skitters up a wall out of reach until Rudania skuttles over and slams it back down for a finishing blow before you're given the improved shield ability? Sounds neat to me, honestly.
Vah Ruta probably starts spraying water, giving the mud spots a time limit and perhaps slamming down the trunk when the Mucktorok tries to go inside to take over the Divine Beast? Finally, you get Mipha's ability again, requiring no button prompt.
They all have their cheeky little lines before stating that it's time they rest and let the Sages handle things from here.
As for the Light Dragon, you absolutely should have been able to tell at least Purah and Impa about Zelda. They both have no idea how to help but set up a station to observe her move through the sky, maybe tooling up towers for extra height to reach for additional research?!? And they decide to craft a gift to show Zelda that they believe in her and maybe see if there's truly nothing left--thats right, you make her a flower crown of Silent Princess's. Maybe with Champion fabric woven in alongside mini flags of the kingdoms, idk. And they're naturally upset when it appears to do nothing but produce a single tear.
This builds up to the boss battle where a cut scene plays just as Ganon takes off with Link. Purah and Impa turn their gaze to where Zelda previously was flying peacefully only to see her gunning towards Ganon.
"I-Is that?!?"
Sages might limp into frame, Riju and Tulin carried by Yonobu and Sidon, all beaten to hell and back but alive.
"It's her!"
And maybe the addition of the flower crown means you slowly heal while riding her to get a good vantage to kick Ganon's ass, idk.
Maybe she has the flower crown still when she turns back for extra points. Her bob braided with flowers and beads representing the crown in the end cutscene, the flower crown displayed in her study.
The Champions turn into Poes at the end, either drifting off as they finally move on or to be collected by link and given to the bargainer statues. Maybe for minis of the Divine Beasts with their Champions that'll be displayed in your house?! Or flags or something idk, something sweet and commemorative.
Anyway! That's just my thought for something that'd be really cool and sorta poetic. Really burying the past and letting it move on, perhaps with a few speeches from the different regions about the champions trusting them to handle hardships on their own now, giving the task of defending the realm to a new generation.
Or maybe I'm full of shit, idk. But I do gotta go to bed, so there's that 🤭
