for something as trivial and simple those feelings sure are hard to get rid of
also made a gif a version for fun + alt version with no tears under the cut
the gif is in very low resolution...this is a feature (i could make it bigger but that would require saving each frame individually and than glueing it all together. also i feel like low resolution suits it better. aesthetically and fits the mood)
Do you have any designs/ head canons you haven’t shown for mechs characters? If so why?
i literally have a full on List of characters that either i want to draw or people have requested (frequently both)!!!
a few i just havent gotten around to, and some im just not happy with their design yet.. some characters are so so easy to picture, 0 effort required, but some i spend a lottt of time changing and tweaking their design until im happy with it!
If Griffin wants to talk about a national housing crisis then I'm all ears!
Whatever they want to talk about/ramble about I'm in. It could be a dlc option. All the random off topic they wanted you to write for them but didn't fit in game 🤣
Saw a video about ai art and while i agree with majority of the points made i heavily disagree with the final point about how ai art is going to force the art world to separate real ‘art’ and illustration because um, those two things are already separate things. As in nobody confuses Fine Art with (commercial) Illustration, these are already very defined categories. If we categorise ‘Retinal Art’ (as Duchamp defined it) as illustration too then we lose a huge part of what art is i.e. pretty pictures that , yes, exist to be pretty pictures. Landscapes, still life, portraits etc these are all things that can be easily defined as ‘frivolous’ and ‘vacuous’. Art started out as representations of the natural world that we saw around us. I think the video author is misunderstanding art severely if he insists that ‘real art’ be only stuff with ‘deeper meanings’; whatever that means.
Art consists of the following: the art object/artwork, the art space, the art audience, and finally, the artist. All of these together create the Art Experience. It’s through the Art Experience that you create a space for interpretation and ultimately derive ‘deeper meaning’. You don’t get deeper meaning by simply reading the artist’s statement, nor by just being at a gallery. It’s a combination of different things that with proper engagement with the artwork, creates what you would call Art. This is why social media sorta fails art because the fast paced nature of it dampens the engagement. People scroll by looking at a million posts, and don’t have the proper time or space to fully engage with a work.
This is where Ai art also fails. You can give a bot a prompt and get quick results, but you ultimately lose the connection between artwork and artist. The experience is forever incomplete. I do think however that Ai can be used to create Art. For example, my classmate Aleena Akbar Khan made a sculptural playground based on text prompts she gave to an Ai. She used Ai to explore fragmentation and what the human world translated to machine learning would look like. Why is this art? because she collected and melded materials to match the ai results, arranged them and recontextualized them to create something new. She transformed the Ai results to create an Art experience. This imo is the way Ai should be used, not to create cheap copies and steal artist’s work.
Now back to the video, retinal art or “pretty pictures” when experienced as Art, will ultimately derive meaning. There’s a reason why even today there is huge debate about what artworks (art object) should be considered art. DuChamp questioned it back in 1917 when he placed that urinal and the debate hasn’t ended since. In my opinion, if the urinal can be considered art, then so can all pretty pictures. Categories like high art, low art will always exist. They will also evolve over time. Low art or culture in one era can become the most prestigious, high art in the next.
I don’t think impermanent things should be cause for disrespecting art that has a deeply human appeal, especially if it’s not ‘deep’ enough for some.
Rep. Ro Khanna sees a great deal of promise in AI, but also doesn't want to see skilled trade professions overlooked in the future. What do you guys think?
A former student of Ashton Academy, Jennie came to Canada to attend the school, but unlike some of her classmates it was not for any other reason than to earn enough money as a hero to support her family after her father ran off with the woman he was having an affair with. With three sisters, all of who are triplets, her mother had a difficult time supporting the family, so when Jae was accepted to Ashton with a full ride, which included a stipend for her family, her mother encouraged Jennie to move to Canada for the time it would take to train at the academy.
After graduation Jennie returned to Korea and joined one of their premier hero groups, easily providing for her struggling family. After learning that her best friend Ziv, aka Razor Storm, went rogue and was sent to prison for killing her own hero group, Jae began to question the issues she had witnessed but ignored among her own team. A year ago her father was found by her team's investigation team and he was forced to begin providing for his abandoned family. With this Jennie decided the time had come for a sabbatical and she returned to Aeon Falls in an effort to find her other bestie from the Academy. But an unexpected reunion has sidetracked her and led to her helping a group dedicated to bringing down modern hero culture.
Jennie is a very easy going individual and takes very little seriously, except when she sees something she considers an injustice and when that happens she becomes single minded in her attempts to resolve it. During her down time she enjoys mixing music and when not doing so can frequently be found wearing headphones while listening to her favorite artists.
Appearance: With her icey blue hair, dark blue eyes and petite 5’5 frame people frequently underestimate Jennie, until they try to fight her. When that happens her cocky smile rarely leaves her lips and she quite often laughs while fighting leading many to believe she may be slightly unhinged. Despite her mother’s wishes Jennie has several tattoos, all of them ice related, in places that are easy to hide.

What are your thoughts on Andor? Does this Cassian feel consistent with Rogue one to you?
For the sake of brevity, I am going to sum up my feelings about Cassian characterization in And0r with the following: whenever I am watching And0r, I keep wondering who that Cassian-shaped Glup Shitto is, because it surely isn't Cassian Jeron And*r.
(and I am redacting the show's name/character name so this doesn't show up on searches and tags, btw. Don't want anyone who doesn't have any problems with it to come across my rant).
Now that I've made the above clarification, I am honestly mad as hell at what And0r has done to Cassian's characterization. And I don't know what's worse, if people ignoring that Cassian's characterization was butchered in the show, or people twisting whatever backstory crumbs we got in RO and trying to shoehorn them into whatever they did in And0r... it doesn't fit. It doesn't wrap up or complement Cassian's story coherently, it just doesn't.
Another thing that pisses me off to no end about the show is the fact Cassian is basically an afterthought in a show that is supposed to be about HIM. The event that transpire in And0r should be at the service of telling Cassian's story, not the Rebellion's, but instead we got a show in which the titular character is barely the focus.
There are many things that And0r does well and I love the inclusion of those elements (social criticism, political themes, and their connection to RL issues), I won't go into detail about this because many have done so before and they've highlighted how important is that the show puts forward these messages and conversations.
I wish the show had done Cassian justice, instead of using him as an excuse to tell the story of the Rebellion. There are other elements that bug me about the show, chiefly the notion and recurrent theme that Cassian has to be taught to care and how to rebel by a bunch of characters played by gringues/yanquis (which, when analysed in terms of allegories and rl issues doesn't leave a good taste in my mouth, to say the least), particularly when RO established him as a rebel leader and as someone who didn't sit idly by. Like... what happened to SUDDENLY THE REBELLION IS REAL FOR YOU? SOME OF US LIVE IT. I'VE BEEN IN THIS FIGHT SINCE I WAS SIX YEARS OLD. YOU'RE NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO LOST EVERYTHING, SOME OF US JUST DECIDED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT (capitals for emphasis).
Apologies for the rambling thoughts, anon. There's a myriad of other things that I don't personally like about And0r when it comes to Cassian's characterization, but all of this kind of sums it all up, I guess. If I feel up to it I may go into more detail tho.
