Whenever I read atpm, my mind’s eye makes a split screen like 2 player Mariokart wherein one side is the scene I’m reading being portrayed by the actors from the movie and the other side is the same thing but with their real life counterparts.

I love milking the Doctor to his last energy particle in Dalle, so here are more spawns, mostly of people eating.
Hope you like them!

Are you ready to remember?
Post-CATWS Winter Soldier solo movie poster mockups because I was fucking around with some screencaps again. It's a revenge flick! It's a surreal Cold War political thriller! It's a war/love/horror ghost story spanning several lifetimes! It's about the volatility of identity and memory! About love and devotion! About reclaiming yourself and coming home the long way round! It has actual Russian speakers in it (yes, I recast Karpov, and yes, I'm just imagining half of The Americans cast in there, sue me) and they're not all EvilTM! Brad Pitt makes a cameo as young(ish) Robert Redford! It's at least 50% just flashbacks from ten different decades and also very pointedly queer because fuck it! Who's gonna stop me!
It's very much not real and it was never going to be and yet it still lives in my head rent free down to the last detail all these years later!

The 1950s
1950s were a big turnover like many other decades before and after and continue to be so. Such as one is over the top., gracious big bold, logos, intensity, blunt, colourful, and brassy almost, when you think of this most of us of our generation would think of the 2000s and the 210s and the shift of the two this 10 period cycle, well actually it’s a 20 year cycle if you really think about it coming in and out of fashion maybe 15 at the most, so you’ve got the 1940s where the war is still going up until 45 where is the, black-and-white even in the movie signals this?, we were invented somehow that had the money to, people like Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Paul Newman and Robert Redford.
Hollywood and these times does this to these women? It mainly does it to the women it torment them torches them it will give them somebody who is their double., they understudy but tell them how amazing that other person is and that they wouldn’t reject these kind of office so why are you when they are deep into their career and they have given us everything of themselves? They are about down to bound to be a tad bit angry and the funny, narcissism does this to us? It thinks oh it won’t be me. I’ll never feel that way about somebody before me such as Marilyn Monroe probably never thinking she would feel like Joanne Crawford did about her who were up and coming., as a woman, you must be dignified but not too dignified to the point of you coming across arrogant, you must be flirty but never a slut, you must have virgin like quality but don’t be too virginal, age gracefully but don’t be ugly, why don’t you lose a few pounds but don’t get too skinny.
All these things are absolute recipe for disaster, and monsters the real monsters of the people behind these acts of making people feel this way the talent agents the executives, the managers the people who these companies the nepotism, allot it .
The difference in these decades like the 80s and the 90s grunge versus hair metal heroine versus cocaine, two different kinds of things in all of these things I’ve listed above so what are we due for next to me?, the 210s were rather over the top but also subtle so when it comes to our next decade that’s coming up with making it subtle bit again, so these women are men the men had it in the way the homosexual ones anyway they weren’t allowed to be open with their sex, point where they would make these men marry women while they had a life on the side which couldn’t be publicised which couldn’t be shown, I even said to my boyfriend if we break up, I want to marry a gay man, the way gay men treat women, and I hate to make sweeping statements and I seem to a lot. I seem to write like that energies sometimes.
But I love the beauty of sees a woman and her straight man never could. , this decade of the 50s bought us the Marilyn Monroe of her absolute peak, her beautiful presence versatile and face, even though she was even one he got bullied by Louis Mayer, the company, to the point I think he even called her his little chinless wonder, bullying tactics, it worked in the 2000s with Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton, where do they stay? These women go back, they’ve made up a bit now because they’re both mothers, I dread to imagine what kind of mother might be with her addiction issues sorry I’m an addict myself and it worries mate maybe it was a blessing, disguise have children?, like not to be able to have children it’s horrible. Your life ends up becoming an addiction disaster if you’re not stable enough.m and men who don’t treat you right, children are a blessing and if you have them count yourself lucky every day, do I think abortions bad, I don’t if you’re not in the right place to have a child then you shouldn’t.
This is comparing all the decades having very similar ways and if you look at it, you’ll see,. one thing I didn’t like was Jane Mansfield think the woman had much class, especially when it came to Monroe she played into the image of being exactly like her, to me it’s a shame they didn’t play into her being probably mixed cause I think she is. and by no means do I mean blackface but make them more darker? Dark hair? Lipstick et cetera, but they had to do a copy of, king size Monroe call her, and she was she lived, Monroe hated it and if you can see some of these pictures she copied it, was is Mansfield love being Monroe as Monro didn’t.

what do you think donna’s favorite movie is? im sure it’s some obscure experimental film no one’s ever heard of but i’m gonna say i think it’s carrie 1976
okay so this calls to attention and extremely important question regarding donna's character: is donna a film buff?
i can't respond to asks with any concise or short answer so buckle up!!!!
we know her as a lover of theatre, and while that doesn't mean she isn't into film, it is common that people are into one more than the other. so when we propose that she would like a really lowkey experimental film, that implies that she knows some deep cuts about film that are never really explored in canon; instead, we know her as a shakespeare lover and broadway girlie.
(however, if someone were to show her maya deren's short film meshes of the afternoon, which is like low-hanging experimental film fruit, it would absolutely change her life LMAO)
i am tempted to say that donna would be into the old hollywood classics and/or films that are more day-in-the-life or depicting the everyday, with some stellar acting performances. what comes to mind is Running On Empty (dir. Sidney Lumet, 1988), Ordinary People (dir. Robert Redford, 1980), or Faces (dir. John Cassavetes, 1968). lowkey donna gives me the vibe that she'd LOVE that movie subgenre that's just white heterosexual couples in miserable marriages screaming at each other for almost two hours.
on the other hand, i love to imagine her getting down with fun movies, rom-comy vibes, like Moonstruck (dir. Norman Jewison, 1987), When Harry Met Sally (dir. Rob Reiner, 1989) The Birdcage (dir. Mike Nichols, 1996) or To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything! Julie Newmar (dir. Beeban Kidron, 1995). I'd say that When Harry Met Sally is probably one of her favorites of all time - it's romantic, it's witty, it's New York, and it's probably everything she wanted.
now this is even more oddly specific but it must be said that donna probably is obsessed with nicole kidman and would be particularly fixated on everything that nicole did when her career was blowing up in the 90s, because nicole had that amazing red hair!!! im talking Moulin Rouge! (dir. Baz Luhrmann, 2001) and Practical Magic (dir. Griffin Dunne, 1998). donna probably went as nicole's characters for Halloween.
i also want to add that i love the idea of her being into older horror films, like Carrie (dir. Brian De Palma, 1976) as you mentioned, and also the original Exorcist (dir. William Friedkin, 1973). donna being a horror lover feels just strange enough to work really well for her character, but i esp like the idea that she takes to classic horror movies!!!
now this is unrelated to everything i just discussed but she would absolutely LOVE Chicago (dir. Rob Marshall, 2002) starting Renée Zellweger and Catherine Zeta Jones.
we see her engage a little with harvey in his movie quoting but we never get to learn much about her own interest in film, so it all comes down to how much knowledge and passion for it that we think she has and if she values any kind of pretentious cinematic taste in the same way she is a longtime fan of live theatre.

The problem is;
We look for someone to grow old together,
While the secret is to find someone to stay a child with!
What does Love mean to 4-8 year old kids?
Slow down for a few minutes to read this...💕
A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, 'What does love mean?' The answers they got were broader, deeper, and more profound than anyone could have ever imagined!
'When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore...
So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too.
That's love.' Rebecca - age 8
'When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.' Billy - age 4
'Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.' Karl - age 5
'Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs.' Chrissy - age 6
'Love is what makes you smile when you're tired.' Terri - age 4
'Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him,
to make sure the taste is OK.' Danny - age 8
'Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and just listen.'
Bobby - age 7 (Wow!)
'If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate.' Nikka - age 6
(we need a few million more Nikka's on this planet)
'Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt,
then he wears it every day.' Noelle - age 7
'Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well.' Tommy - age 6
'During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling.
He was the only one doing that.
I wasn't scared anymore.' Cindy - age 8
'My mommy loves me more than anybody.
You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night.' Clare - age 6
'Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken.' Elaine - age 5
'Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford.' Chris - age 7
'Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.' Mary Ann - age 4
'I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones.' Lauren - age 4
'When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.'
(what an image!) Karen - age 7
'Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross...' Mark - age 6
'You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot.
People forget.' Jessica - age 8
And the final one: The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife.
Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there. When his mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said, 'Nothing, I just helped him cry.'
(this made me cry!)
Now, take a few seconds and post this for others to inspire and spread Love like butter!
And then go be a child again today!… ‿ℒℴνℯ⁀❤️ always with ℒℴѵℯ ❤️🕊

Avengers: 80s
Tumblr media
If the Avengers were reimagined as an 80s flick, it would be totally rad! Arnold Schwarzenegger, the king of muscles, wielding Mjölnir as Thor with a totally tubular mullet and some killer shades 😎. He'd be like, "I'll be back… for Asgard!"
Tumblr media
Raquel Welch as Black Widow would be fierce and glamorous, rocking high-waisted leggings and neon leotards, all while kicking butt with her martial arts skills. She'd have that sultry 80s vibe and killer hair flips. She's the femme fatale we'd all want on our team.
Tumblr media
Burt Reynolds as Iron Man would be the epitome of cool. Picture him in a slick red and gold suit, complete with a chest plate that shines brighter than his smile. He'd have that swagger and charm, saying stuff like, "Hey, babe, wanna check out my suit's turbo boost?" 😏
Tumblr media
Clint Eastwood as Nuck Fury (Nick Fury's 80s alter ego) would be the tough, no-nonsense leader of the pack. He'd have that Clint squint and a cigar hanging from his lips as he strategizes how to take down the bad guys. "Make my day, Loki!"
Tumblr media
Robert Redford as Captain America would be the all-American hero, donning a spandex suit with the stars and stripes proudly displayed. He'd embody that 80s wholesome goodness, fighting for truth, justice, and the American way. "Let's do this, team!"
Tumblr media
Vincent Price as Doctor Strange would bring a touch of mystery and intrigue to the team. He'd rock a velvet cape and mystical amulets, delving into ancient spells and mind-blowing illusions. "Enter my realm of magic, if you dare!"
Together, they'd form the ultimate dream team of the 80s, saving the world from gnarly villains and looking totally rad doing it. With their powers combined, they'd be unstoppable! Imagine the epic synth-pop soundtrack and the flashy special effects. It would be a blast from the past that even Doc Brown would approve of! 🌟

for the 40 questions meme: 12, 15, 21
[ask me forty questions!]
12. Is there an episode above all others that inspires you just a little bit more?
I'm not sure what episode here refers to. Like a blanket episode of television? To inspire a specific fic or generally anything? The answer to this is probably the "Arcadia" episode of The X-Files. Mulder and Scully go undercover in the sixth season (GOD, the shipper season) as marrieds trying to infiltrate a sinister HOA and it is every bit as fun as you imagine it would be. Rob and Laura Petrie! Poopy head! They just spooned up and fell asleep like little baby cats! Have I used this conceit in other things? Indeed, I have. (Anne Hathaway as the sinister HOA president in that fic I wrote once, ahhhh, I had a blast!) I think every partnership should have at least ONE fake married undercover plot.
15. If you choose one of your fics to be filmed, which would you choose? Oh, this is a good one. Initially I was going to say that a lot of my fics are about vibes and feelings so they probably don't lend themselves to cinema, but all the AUs are plot-heavy so it would probably be a fraudulent zodiac if I ever finish it (I love spy dramas and the pea coat budget would be INSANE because I'd demand that everyone walk around like they're Robert Redford in Three Days of the Condor, a movie that I hated but also found extremely aesthetically pleasing) or put it in a zip-lock bag (shot in the vein of Almost Famous meets Last Days). I would've said the apocalypse AU, but that would involve too much CGI, I fear. What I really want is for someone to film the unwritten space AU in my head.
21. How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting?
More often than not, I re-read what I've written so far before getting to work on a new section so what ends up happening is that the earlier bits always get revised much more than the later ones. The whole thing sees at least one or two revisions once it is done (...usually immediately after it is done because I don't have the patience to sit on it, hence these 3am posts before a workday). I can count the number of times on one hand that I've finished a fic and then let it breathe for a day before going back to revise it because I simply didn't have it in me to read that much after churning it out.

round up // JUNE 24
Tumblr media
This post is late 'cause I'm a writer, Though Austin Butler's cute in The Bikeriders, Who didn’t have time for post creation Before my big summer vacation. And it marks the 12th year Of this little blog now. With a 283rd post, I’ve know I got it down. Too bad anxiety don't do it for ya, John Wayne, he dream came trued it for ya, Bad Boys rebooted up for ya. Now I’m singin' Sabrina all night, oh, Is it that sweet? I guess so. Type it up, down, left, right, oh, Switch it up like Nintendo. Crowd vs. Critic, I know That's that me espresso
June Crowd-Pleasers
Tumblr media
1. Bad Boys: Ride or Die (2024)
The fourth Bad Boys is functioning on three levels:
It reminds us just how fun buddy cop comedies can be.
It’s a soft reboot of the franchise.
It’s testing the waters for Will Smith’s future.
Read my full review for ZekeFilm. Crowd: 8.5/10 // Critic: 7/10
youtube
2. “Espresso” by Sabrina Carpenter (2024)
It may be technically too early to call the race for Song of the Summer, but it’s going to take a major earworm to dethrone Sabrina Carpenter’s caffeinated pop hit for me. I’ve started playing it on repeat and daydreaming dance routines while driving—is it that sweet? I guess so.
Tumblr media
3. Inside Out 2 (2024)
This sequel works because t’s a logical next step for Riley’s growth, but also because of its precision in identifying the competing emotions of middle school. That’s a lovely subversion of the neat endings in most family entertainment, and like most every Pixar entry, it did make me cry. Read my full review for ZekeFilm. Crowd: 9/10 // Critic: 8.5/10
Tumblr media
4. Anxious People by Fredrik Backman (2019)
The narrator—a cousin of Arrested Development's—informs us this is a story about a bank robbery gone wrong. It’s also a story about realtors, falling in love, rabbits, therapy sessions, bedroom closets, police work, bridges, and strange coincidences. It’s a laugh-out-loud ensemble (with some scenes so non sequitur I could imagine them in the best Adam McKay movies) and a sentimental rom-com (with some scenes reminiscent of Nora Ephron’s tone).
Tumblr media
5. Behind Enemy Lines (2001)
This action movie based on a true story more than lives up to its title. When Owen Wilson’s cocky Navy pilot gets caught, yes, behind enemy lines, he then, yes, has to go through a Top Gun-inspired arc. But neither Wilson nor Gene Hackman are phoning in what could’ve been a paint-by-numbers war film, which makes it both thrilling and poignant. Crowd: 9/10 // Critic: 7.5/10
MORE JUNE CROWD-PLEASERS // House Rules by Myquillyn Smith (2023) isn’t the restricting guide the title suggests but a collection of 100 decorating inspirations // Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (2006) and Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues (2013) make me miss Adam McKay’s true comedy days, when his political views made his jokes more poignant instead of overwhelming the intent of his script // Poms (2019) is a fun entry in the recent trend of Older Screen Lady Legends Doing It For Themselves subgenre (See also: 80 for Brady) // I.S.S. (2023) is more thoughtful than a junkie space thriller needs to be // In the Land of Saint and Sinners (2023) is a classic Western that just happens to be set in Ireland // Snack Shack (2024) is more crass than I prefer, but what works has American Graffiti vibes
June Critic Picks
Tumblr media
1. The Bikeriders (2024)
It’s like Austin Butler overheard Robert Redford say, “Paul Newman and I are the handsomest white men who have ever been on screen,” and he said, “Hold my comb.” Butler knows he’s beautiful, and so does writer/director Jeff Nichols, who based The Bikeriders on a book of photography. Nichols also knows how cool guys in leather jackets look while smoking and riding motorcycles (even if we consciously know all of those things are dangerous clichés) and that it takes someone as gorgeous as Butler to make us believe a skeptical woman like Jodie Comer’s Kathy would sell her soul to have him. It’s one of best films of the year so far, and you can hear more thoughts in my review on KTRS's Carney Show. Crowd: 8/10 // Critic: 9.5/10
Tumblr media
2. Double Feature - ‘40s Rom-Coms With With Political Twists: Without Reservations (1946) + State of the Union (1948)
In Frank Capra’s State of the Union (Crowd: 7.5/10 // Critic: 8.5/10), Spencer Tracy is considering running for President of the United States with the help of lover Angela Lansbury and to the chagrin of wife Katharine Hepburn. In Mervyn LeRoy’s Without Reservations (8/10 // 8.5/10), famous author Claudette Colbert is road-tripping incognito (much like she did in It Happened One Night) after falling hard for returning soldier John Wayne. In both romances, politics are the force driving apart the couples we’re rooting for, and in Reservations, you also get a perfect rom-com BFF in Don DeFore.
Tumblr media
3. The Cross of Lorraine (1943)
About the same time Casablanca came out, Peter Lorre played a supporting role in another World War II adventure filmed as people were escaping the Nazis in real life. This French POW drama (also co-starring Gene Kelly) walked so that Steve McQueen could jump that motorcycle in The Great Escape. Crowd: 7.5/10 // Critic: 8/10
Tumblr media
4. Broadcast News (1987)
What’s a girl to do when she has no time to write a valedictorian speech? And what’s a girl to do when she has to choose between two terrible love interests while working in the world of TV journalism? In ep. 140 of SO IT’S A SHOW?, Kayla and I are digging into the ‘80s romantic dramedy Broadcast News and trying to figure out what the hey it has to do with Rory’s graduation in Gilmore Girls. Why is Lorelai comparing Rory to Holly Hunter? What ethical controversy (if you can even call it that) could make Holly Hunter break up with a dreamy news anchor? And how much do we love The Incredibles? Listen in for a special report on all of these stories.
Tumblr media
5. Fancy Dance (2023)
Part mystery, part character drama, all Lily Gladstone star power. Fancy Dance overlaps in plot and theme with Killers of the Flower Moon, but Gladstone has created a completely different character stuck in a world of crime and custody battles. Watch my full review on KMOV. Crowd: 7/10 // Critic: 8.5/10
Also in June…
I reviewed Janet Planet for ZekeFilm, which was the opposite of Snack Shack: On paper it's a film I should've loved, but I didn't care for the execution.

And then go be a child again today!
