it's really weird to me the way people have been talking about maria lately.... like i know maria wasnt the most developed character in her earlier appearances and she also didnt get to have a normal childhood experience but seeing people say she has no personality and has no joy or whimsy or never got to be a kid at all makes me wonder if im the only person whos actually been paying attention to maria this whole time...???? like do people think she was a sad miserable kid who never got to have fun because of her disability or something ? because that is quite literally the opposite of who she was

and people are being weirdly ableist about it too like talking like her illness is the reason for all those traits she supposedly lacks. implying disabled people cant be happy or have fun or whatever. like come on man

honestly I just expect and accept that in a bunch of official media, even including the games with Frontiers to a small degree, will have the odd bits of OOC dialogue with Eggman. there are times where I still go "he would not fucking say that" because there's just no way he'd ever actually say and mean such a thing, would ever say it that certain way, would ever actually feel a certain way to say it in the first place, etc

but my priority now is what were they actually going for and does that part work for his character? sure dialogue is very important and adds a lot, I love writing it the most myself and making it feel exactly like what the character would say and how they'd express it. but it's just highly likely for people to get it wrong from time to time and I personally would say that they are really just occasional and small

overall I'm happy with what all the strongest parts of the writing points towards most and revealed intent by the writers, that's what matters to me. I'd like for all the dialogue and scenes to never miss but there will be times where the odd couple of lines shouldn't have been there or could've been rephrased, vocalized and written in a way that was much more in character for him if anything

but again, I'm happy understanding what they're actually going for and what all the strongest writing and main sources point towards the most. for example, I think game Eggman overall is fantastic as ever. I think there's just some flubs here and there as they explore already existing assets of his character in different ways but will settle into it properly over time and gain more solid footing for the better

as for things like takeovers, it's been OOC for characters since the beginning, they've forgotten facts about the games and/or accidentally replaced them as a result, they've even gotten the names of things in games wrong. it's just simple social media fun lol. but I still enjoy them overall because it's not the solid finalized fully stamped and approved published media like the games

the big writers aren't involved, it doesn't go through tons of checks and changes, they're written fast on a time limit often based on how funny they think it'll be. they made Shadow a Taylor Swift fan ffs XD of course a big majority of the fanbase will treat it like canon, most of those don't play or like the games much anyway. it's honestly out of sight out of mind now, really not interested in fandom shenanigans anymore

I couldn't care less about fandom's wild takes and overemphasis on any sides anymore. all I can say is people will find ways to twist and misinterpret literally anything and it's a losing game lol. my blog is just to gush about Eggman, analyze things, share my thoughts, discuss with those who ask in my inbox/replies and then I leave. it's all become much more enjoyable after stepping back from general fandom

and that's what this post is again now, just my two cents as usual. not directed towards any situation or people in particular, just an overall observation of recent fandom from afar as I've taken a step back and where I stand on it based on focusing on the official media alone and avoiding the opinions of random strangers at any chance I get. the way the world is supposed to be but the internet's existence changed lol

I'm really satisfied and at peace with official Eggman and this is how I handle any small occasional OOC moments. I still understand and like what they're going for based on what all the strongest writing and writer commentary points towards. I don't concern myself with what general fandom thinks and if they latch onto the small OOC parts, they don't have the power to influence anything beyond the social media acc

I also tell myself that sometimes writers on official media aren't as insane and obsessed about Eggman like me to the point I remember every line he's ever said and think very hard down to every last word and the inflections and ways it could be interpreted when writing him lol. so yeah chances are at that, they're gonna have him say some things where I feel it should've been different or removed at times

but again, as long as I'm happy with the official media with its strongest parts and especially the game canon media then it's all good with me!

Is it alright if i request something? Can we have a shadow the hedgehog x reader where you also are living in the g.u.n base maria and shadow were? Your father or mother being on of the scientists and one day maria and shadow find you alone in a corner of the base writing music or playing with toys something (your marias age). Thrn they introuce themselfs and maybe you become part of their gaggle of fraggles to always being with them to the point your mother and gerald agree for you and maria both to share a room. summary: after being brought to work with your mother, Maria and Shadow stumble upon you, deciding to invite you to join their little group, from then on the three of you became inseparable

a/n: this is such a cute request! I was gonna end it with both Maria and the reader dying but I think Shadow has been traumatized enough for now…

“You stay put! I have work to do in the lab okay?” Your mother’s voice was stern; being a single mother was tough, especially because she had no one to take care of you while she did her work. You gave her a small nod, acknowledging her request.

A slight sigh escaped her lips as she lightly caressed your cheek, “Just, behave for me please,” was the last thing she told you before she walked into the door to your right, the words ‘Laboratory’ in bright white above the area.

You slowly sat down on the floor, she’d asked you to not leave and you really wanted to respect her decision, even as a child you knew her life was harder than she’d let on.

Unfortunately you were a child with a small attention span. You dug into your pockets and found a small notebook with equations, probably from your mom and a small pencil. Since there was nothing better to do maybe it was best to just draw a little bit, maybe some flowers and animals you liked.

Sitting there, you slightly hunched over, trying your hardest to draw the most beautiful roses and some bees and landscape you could. Suddenly a voice rang out from above you, “What are you doing here?” Your head snapped up, meeting the eyes of a small blonde girl and a strange black and red hedgehog.

“Uhm my mom works here..” you nervously answered her, “What are you doing here?” You asked her exact question but back at her.

“My grandfather works here!” She proudly exclaimed. The hedgehog looked between the both of you, he stood covered behind her, he had a mean face but you could tell he was more curious than anything.

The girl taking note of the awkward silence decided to introduce herself, “I’m Maria! And this is Shadow! What’s your name?”

You looked between the two, taking in who they were before you quietly responded with your name, Maria let out a big grin and Shadow silently repeated it to himself, “What are you drawing?” Maria asked, looking at the small notebook in your hand. You looked down at it and turned it over so the two could see; it looked like a small rabbit with butterflies and flowers around it, “Woah that looks really cool!”

Shadow silently nodded, agreeing with her. You thanked the two of them, fidgeting with your pencil. As Maria continued to talk you took notice of her outfit, she wore a pastel rainbow long sleeve shirt and loose pants with skates on her feet instead of shoes. She must’ve noticed you staring at them as she suddenly asked, “Do you wanna try them!?”

You hesitantly shook your head, as much as you wanted to you didn’t really know her and if she would even be okay with that. Maria reassured you that it was fine and actually really fun, before you could tell her a definite no she’d already taken them off, placing them in front of you, “Try them! Shadow can pull you around,”

Shadow looked between the both of you, clearly not having agreed but Maria nodded her head yes, leaving Shadow to only agree. Surely your mom wouldn’t notice if you were gone for a quick second.

Once you were geared up and Maria found a rope to tie onto Shadow and for you to hold, she grabbed her timer, “Ready, set, go!!” Before you had time to really brace yourself Shadow had already set off, he ran through the base, his face held a small smile as he checked back a few times to check if you were still holding on.

He saw the wide smile you had, your laughter was echoing throughout the hall filled with the other agents. Quickly you already finished the lap and had made your way back to Maria, but unfortunately you didn’t exactly know how to stop, so as Shadow had slowed down you still held a generally fast speed. Too fast actually, causing you to trip and fall face first; thankfully the fast hedgehog was able to grab you and hold you up before you fell and ate concrete.

Maria ran over to check and make sure you were okay, feeling guilt if she somehow made you upset from almost falling. As you stood up, you turned back to look at the two, your extremely wide smile shocking them both, it was almost contagious as Maria started to smile and laugh and Shadow breathed a sigh of relief but you could see the small twitch in his lips making them quirk up.

Suddenly you heard your name coming from beside you, turning you saw your mom as well as her boss Professor Gerald Robotnik looking at the three of you, “I thought I told you to stay put!” Her expression wasn’t one of anger, more a mix of stress and lack of sleep.

“Mom! I’m sorry I just met Maria and Shadow and they’re really fun and I thought it was okay, we didn’t cause any trouble-“ You started to ramble feeling immense guilt for betraying your own mother, but you were suddenly cut off.

“Now now, I think it’s quite alright, you see Maria is my granddaughter, and I trust her and your child doesn’t seem bad” The professor interrupted and explained to your mother, “I actually think it’s good for the kids to hangout and get along” he advocated for you.

All three of you nodded your head, even Shadow was agreeing! Your mom reluctantly nodded her head, agreeing that he was right.

And so you came daily, until your mom had to start working 24/7 and so Gerald let you stay in Maria’s room, even getting you guys a bunk bed. It was nice, the three of you became like the three musketeers, you’d never see each other alone anymore.

Sometimes Maria would play music and you three would all dance and jump around together. At some point you even got your own pair of skates so that you three could race, although Shadow always won.

Life was fun, everyday was like an endless sleepover, sometimes the three of you would sneak out and watch the stars, even falling asleep under the moonlight. It wasn’t bad, not at all.

These were the best days of your life, just you and your two best friends.

Why I Think Stone Should Be Shadow's Human Buddy:

- Both processing their grief.

- Shadow gets someone who's used to dealing with overdramatic rage and not talking about feelings.

- Shadow wakes up in a panic after a nightmare and trashes his room? Stone replaces everything without complaint and adds a force field around his stuff so he doesn't break anything else at night. Shadow mentions he misses having a record player? Stone buys him a new one and throws in every album released 50 years ago just in case.

- Stone gets someone who genuinely appreciates his help and who would actually do nice things for him in return.

- Shadow insists on helping Stone cook. Shadow helps clean up his own messes. Shadow tries to listen to his advice.

- Riding motorcycles out in the wilds and then setting up a tent and stargazing together.

- Also they're just both kinda hecked-up little guys.

- Like both probably mad at GUN still but settle for clandestinely thwarting their plans undercover.

- Also Stone kinda wants to take over the world in Robotnik's name but also wants to protect the world he sacrificed himself to save but also is too nice to use Shadow as a tool.

- Somehow they end up settling on "take over the coffee industry by offering better job benefits and use sustainable business practices to help protect the environment"

- Shadow helps transport the beans to reduce fuel costs. He likes having a job that's not just "run around to generate energy and let scientists poke at you"

- GUN is appalled when they find out the ultimate lifeform is working at a coffee company. "You have the power to level or fuel entire cities and you're wasting it on coffee?!"

- "I like coffee." Shadow glares dramatically.

- Team Shadow fits into dynamic as well - Stone having access to Eggman tech could be how they find Omega, and he and Rogue would be very catty at each other.

- Stone asks Tom and Maddie for advice on living with an alien hedgehog. They start giving him parenting advice.

- "I'm not a parent" he says

- but then he sees Shadow in danger and the switch clicks to "crap in trying to cope with the loss of the man I loved I accidentally adopted an edgy teenager"

- Just let him join the family dynamic as the weird uncle who watches soap operas with Knuckles and Maddie and helps Tails test inventions and threatens GUN with an entire arsenal of Egg tech if they try to go after the silly little alien critters ever again.

Your Not Leaving My Side

You and team sonic split up as they head in into the building of an abandoned facility where some of shadows best memories reside along with Dr.Robotnik. You we're surprised to hear that team sonic teamed up with Eggman but you knew the situation must of been bad for this partnership to occur but you knew it was temporary.

Your no newbie when it comes to these types of missions but this one different because you have history with both Robotnik and shadow. With Maria gone you can only imagine how badly they were effected but you also don't realize how much shadow was effect from your disappearance as well because afterall your supposedly dead.

See the thing is your not entirely human but you are half human and part yokai. You travel across worlds all the time but on your planet you violated a law as one of the high authority you are not suppose to interact with supposedly the low class yet you didn't care and you've managed to befriend those from wherever they came from and the bonds you've created are always worth it.

But of course being in the high position means you'll have competition ans someone will always try to find a way to bring you down even if they have no reason against you. And that's what someone did. Apparently one of your comrades reported you for freeing a village full of slaves but you didn't care because you knew if the roles we're reversed you would want freedom too.

You were furious to the point when you we're taken to trial you made the sure that comrade felt your wrath immediately. You we're no saint in a fight and you made sure to let that be known as that comrade can now never see again. But regardless you we're still punished by someone higher then you and their nothing you could of done so you eagerly told them to hurry up so you could get back with your day.

And that punishment was to oppress half your energy with ribbons around your appearance now matter the attire you wear they appear as a reminder of what you did buy you've grown somewhat to adore them since it makes your outfits appealing from time to time however you knew people may grow suspicious seeing the ribbons laced on you all the time but most of the time people just you loved to wear ribbons which worked too but shadow could tell from a glance that that's not normal.

The day of your punishment was also the day you were ban to earth until you figured a way to return or apologize but you weren't apologizing for shit so you we're going to make through with what you got. The positive side is the fact you're free of duty you don't have to be around your comrades and earth doesn't have that many enemies or huge threat until now.

You were never one to harm the innocent nor get them involved but if so it would be an accident or out of fury but you could control yourself better then that. You we're the type to help out if necessary but one things for sure is that those who've thought to mistaken your kindness for weakness were met with a fate worse then death no matter who it was.

Your powers may be opposed but you could still use some of it for an example you we're able to make portals to different dimensions but inside you can only transform your body to a long ribbon almost like a snake and travel underground without problem. However if a person we're to focus on that aspect they could see your ribbon like appearance as a shadow as your travel underground but only if they have extremely good eye site or their fast enough to see it.

You use to be able to summon a multitude of blades on you but now you can only summon one but again it was no problem because you knew how to make due with anything and if necessary you would engage with close combat since your self trained. But you didn't like to engage close combat now since that's a huge risk due to the situation your in now you do have a weakness and that is the tattoo on your neck that leads to your collarbone. Whether it be brushed upon accidentally by and object or physically by hand your tattoos easily grow irritated and become hot to the point you will want to claw yourself but most of the time you slithere away to a seculed play and pass out or seek coolness to maintain your body temperature.

Back then when you arrived to earth the first thing you did was destroy some robots you saw terrorizing a city thus leading you to become a target and interest but you didn't care you were frustrated so you easily tore through all types of robots looking for the person behind these machines but you found nothing but more machines now facing you.

However you felt as if you were being watched by the machines above you as it covered above you longer then you'd anticipated. You weren't that knowledgeable when it came to robots especially drones but you could tell you wede being watched as you deadass stared into its camera lenses but you didn't there blink which robotnik found intriguing. He found it weird your pupils didn't even quiver once and from that moment he just knew you couldn't be human especially with slit eyes like that. So, he then comman the drone to fly away but the last thing he sees within a blink of an eye he sees you claw all the drones in one swipe destroying everything.

He was amazed yet angry at the act he witness meanwhile shadow was observing everything he could tell you were extremely different from the rest of the humans. Shit he knew you possed the main human qualities but your reaction says otherwise.

Shadow: Your orders?

Robotnik: She's a intriguing little thing isn't she?

Shadow: She could pose a threat

Robotnik: She doesn't know we exist shadow only the machines. But, I wonder how can she possess such strength, and awareness yet she chose to act when I tried to retreat. I wonder how her body works. If only I could get a closer look...just maybe...ah yes I can conduct a research project from afar. Instead of using the drones maybe cameras I'll hack onto nearby.

Sir the US military is ordering all drones to be captured and hacked below! The military is on the move. Their even collecting damage pieces of our machine nearby below. Sir what if they find a way to send troops from earth to up here? We need to take caution! We need to-

Y/n: Stop terrorizing people with drones and minimize damage along with avoiding getting civilians involved.

Suddenly in a instant all eyes were on you and shadow looked as if he was ready to take you on depending on your move or order.

Robotnik: H-How?

Y/n: Scent.

Robotnik: Scent?

Y/n: Mhm. I'll save you the trouble and say it's like a puzzle piece leading to you.

Robotnik: Did you teleport? Is their someone else with you?

Y/n: No, but how are you able to breath in space? Can space produce plants (you whispered the last sentence)

Everyone was just shocked and in disbelief but then Robotnik seemed amused and shadow still didn't remove his gaze from you but he was definitely sure you weren't stupid but it's obvious your curiosity is truthful as you stand dumbfounded trying to understand how the hell can these humans breathe within the ship.

Robotnik: Your not from here are you?

Y/n: No but, I've mingled with your kind before and your not all that bad but, some of you do ruin it for the others horribly. These machine being an example of your doing but clearly theirs a logical reason behind it no?

You shook your head taking in the place and next thing you know you locked eyes with a black and red creature and he held your gaze but he was not prepared for your words you mumbled.

Y/n:...a puppy that stands up

Shadow: A what?

Robotnik let out a laugh while the rest of security snickered at the comment. You even mumbled what a weird looking dog he was but also called him fluffy. Next thing you know a little girl enter the rooms awkwardly as her eyes looked at the creature then from the doctor then at you. She gasp looking at you in awe claiming she's never seen you before and she then quickly made her way towards you but was stopped by the doctor and shadow.

Maria: Hi, my name is maria! Are you knew here? I've never seen you before I love your clothes your so pretty! Did you come to help grandfather?

Shadow now standing in front of maria as a shield between her and view now even more guarded watching you closely for any signs of malicious intentions but you paid him no mind.

Y/n: Greetings dearie. Thank you for the compliment oh my arent you a little ray of sunshine. But no I did not come to aid him but rather come to make a statement.

Maria: And what's that?

Y/n: Well kiddo you see your grandfather sent some of these robots down there and it got some good people hurt so I destroyed the ones that seem harmful and brought some here. Do you think you can ask your grandfather to play nice? I rather avoid further conflict and go back with my day.

Maria: You've been to earth what's it like? And I'm sorry grandfather did all that. Your sorry right grandfather? You won't do that again right?

Robotnik:...Yes I apologize and I'll do better next time. Maria what are you doing outside your room you need to be resting?

Maria: I was bored but not anymore now. I'll rest later but, um miss...what does earth look like?

You just blicked and smiled slightly at her but one could see your sympathy towards her. You came to a conclusion that their must be a good reason for her to be isolated up here compared to the rest of the planet. You glanced out the window at earth then back towards her and you gave her your answer.

Y/n: It's beautiful but, what's beautiful can contain its ugly side too.

She then looked at you with amazement and began to walk closer but shadow wasn't going to budge as he kept her behind him but she began to slowly push him forward and he looked at you to see you back away slowly as you glanced at her and him but, what made him confused was seeing the slight discomfort when maria inched closer towards you he couldn't understand why. Shes unarmed and not a threat yet you created a good distance between you too.

Maria: Tell me more please...please

Y/n: You haven't been down there yet haven't you? (You said gently)

She just shook her head and looked down as your eyes quickly found the doctor with an unreadable expression. He could tell you were going to elaborate but, he just hoped you chose your words carefully since maria is innocent. You shared his stare for a while building tension to the point shadow felt uneasy but didn't show it

Y/n: Their are all types of people their all over, everyone lives different lives in different ways, and different regions all over, planet itself is beautiful because of the amount of places the earth provides people to thrive on is almost as a gift and all you have to do is care for it for everything to nourish around you.

Maria: Like a flower?

Y/n: Yes. Their are fields of flowers, crops, waterfalls,lakes, ocean, and other bodies of water, very dry places like desert, their are huge mountains that contains many different structures depending on where you go or live. There are so many animals both of land and sea that cover the planet, their are tiny annoying creatures like insects but some are nice, huge tall buildings that light up at night all over the world and the view is at is best as you can see now out the window if yours. It's night wherever you see lights? Those are thousands of buildings all together where people live to remind you of who runs the planet.

Maria: Wow it sounds so beautiful (She ran towards the window to take in the view as if she's seeing it for the first time)

Maria: Um...you said that where's beauty theirs ugly...what's the ugly then. (She turned to look back at you curiously)

You made sure to carefully chose your words for this. You just looked to the side for a moment shadow watching you curious to see what you would say.

Y/n: The people are what make earth ugly. But, not all of them. Only some ruined it for others. And thats just ba- mean people who have no good intentions. However, regardless of that the good which is the beauty outcomes the ugly of this world. Do you understand what I mean? (You looked back her and she smile and nodded)

Maria: I do! I do! It sounds amazing I've never knew all of that. I know it's beautiful but wow it just makes me wanna go down there and see it myself. You must love it down there.

Y/n: To an extent but that's everywhere I go.

Maria: Maybe one day you can take me to some of these places. You seem to know the planet so well I bet you have so many memories there. Oh oh do you have any souvenirs? Or wait your clothes are you from a particular part of the planet where people where that?

You looked at the doctor and he held a look of bewilderment and you the looked at shadow to see he just blinked in response and he also didn't know what to say.

Y/n: I don't know if that's possible...probably not depending on where I'll be or do during that time but, perhaps your little friend or grandfather here will be the best choice for you to go with when that time comes. As for souvenirs I only have this ribbion on me that I've from one of the stores down there for my hair but tlu can have it. (You took it out your hair easily and dropped it across shadow to his dismay and he then walked towards maria but maria snatched it and ran to you startling you)

Maria: I've never tied a ribbion before you do my hair?

You looked at the doctor for permission and he just shrugged and you still manage to create a distance between you two but you tied and braided her hair in a design where it enhances her beauty. Once you were done you started to back up only for maria to quickly hug you with her arms around your neck but out of panic you quickly peeled her hands away as you held her with her arms to her side and nervous stepped back bringing one of your hands to graps your neck after your tattoo glowed for a quick second the pain your body felt was intense. Maria frowned and quickly apologize but you waved her off with your avaliable hand.

Shadow was examining her hands as he then looked back at you observanting your reaction. He saw the glimpse of your tattoos glowing and so did the doctor. They first thought you were being rude maria pushing her away but you guarding your neck says otherwise. You knew shadow saw and you glared at him slightly since you knew if you were to ever encounter him again that would be the spot he may aim for as an enemy or so.

Y/n: Well I think it's time I take my leave. Thank you for getting at your grandfather though and enjoy your ribbion and make many styles with it as you please.

Maria: Wait your leaving already? I... thank you for the gift. Will I see you again?

Y/n: Probably not dearie. But that's okay you have your puppy thing to keep you company as I can see.

Maria laughed at your comment then looked at shadow as he held a scowl on his face.

Maria: This is shadow he's not a puppy although it would be cool get one. Shadows a hedgehog and he's my friend.

Y/n: Is that so. Wait a hedgehog...wow he's very different compared to earth ones that's for sure.

Shadow glanced at you waiting for a depiction of what the earth version looks like but you just mumbled that their cuter and he commented back that he's stronger causing maria to giggle.

You slowly backed away once more as your form started to fade as your ribbiond surrounded you causing you to fade making maria giggle come to a hault as she looked at you in sadness seeing you leave. Shadow was stuck in a trance seeing how you we're engulfed beautifully with only your eyes and skin seemed to be glowing as you slowly faded aiming for who knows where.

Y/n: Keep your head up dearie surely when the time is right you'll be down there bathing In the sunlight one-day but, for now it seems like it's s past your bed time seeing as the moon orbiting closer to earth as more lights appear it's clearly night you should get some rest. Their's only so much that the human body can take...farewell.

You waved and disappeared just like that. Maria then smiled and held her hand over her heart as you made her feel happy with what you said. She then started to make her way back towards her room.

Maria: I'm going to sleep now grandfather, goodnight everyone. I hope I can see her again someday then, maybe we can explore earth all together. Oh, grandfather it would be great if you could invite her here maybe, she could tell me stories of her journey. I can only imagine welp I'll go to bed now.

Robotnik: Yes that would be interesting wouldn't it. Rest now maria I'm sure she has many stories to tell.

Shadow was still staring exactly where you left from. He tried to take in everything he just witness and heard from you. He couldn't lie and say your presence was tolerable. He knew those ribbons had to be a reminder of some sort. Their were too many on your body for that too be normal. It reminded him of his rings. The way you felt uneasy in maria presence a little was questioning and you even flinched and panic when she touched you. Yet you had no bad intentions you only became more cautious as she tried to get closer to you. Despite that you talked to her honestly despite leaving hidden details about earth which he and robotnik are thankful for and you didn't sugarcoat anything.

Shadow looked around then down at earth with tiny bit of hope to see if he could somehow spot you but he knows that won't work since you left in a hurry after the encounter. He didn't know to consider you a threat after that but you honestly only requested to keep the drones at bay so it's obvious you only destroy them out of discomfort and protection of others. He too doesn't know much about earth and your information them make his mind wondered about the planet and the people you've encountered.

His mind in general was questioning what are you? What are you capable of and why are you so sensitive to touch? Will you randomly appear again? If so what will happened if maria haven't interfered? Would you mind telling maria about earth? It made her so happy. Would you be willing to befriend maria if she didn't take that step towards you? Could he obtain another companion beside maria and the doctor? Who knows.

Robotnik: Missy seems to be in your mind isn't she? What a fascinating person. I wonder what's going on in that head of yours shadow. Well just like she said perhaps we can find a way to cure maria that way she can possibly visit earth one-day and walk among others to bask on the sun and perhaps meet that woman again. I will admit I had my doubts thinking she was going to attack us but her conversations says otherwise.

Shadow: I don't think we'll see her again...at least not here. She has no interest of what we do or what we have here. However she did give maria more hope and enthusiasm which is good for her. I however...hmm.

Robotnik: That maybe so but I'm sure if we were so cause a scene she would appear again but only if we knew where she's located but it seems none of my machines have caught her whereabouts beside where she first showed up. Shadow hesitantly agreed and then began to head towards maria room mind still raising with many thoughts of everything. He silently made a mental note to ask the doctor later for your name or any information on you if possible. He figured having you around would really benefit them and perhaps you would be the key to heal maria especially.

So as he open maria door seeing her sound asleep in bed as she clutched onto the ribbion you lifted her he smiled at the thought of a ting of hope he had for future encounters with you in the future.

But unfortunately today would be his and the doctor last day with poor little maria before the incident that takes place soon.

You heard on the news what had happened from city around you. You were baffled to know that they were attack but you could only hope that little maria and other people weren't caught in the crossfire up there. You've been through it before it's always the good ones that pay the price amoung the bad and you hated that. You could tell in a moments glanced if something were to happen to that girl then shadow would spaz out you could tell based on their bond.

You just hope he and the doctor don't lose themselves when stacked upon all odds. You've been their and the results are never good. At the time you would of travel to them but by the looks of it so many drones and other machines are destroyed you felt no need to go since the damage was already done. Not to mention you don't do well around heat and the amount of explosion going off wouldn't do you good especially with your powers oppresssd. You could only hoped they had connections with people to aid them before any incidents went down but unfortunately they didn't. And from that day on you saw no further reports on the news as almost the counties or news wanted to keep what has happened hidden.

The next thing you know an association name GUN came to you with questions and concerns seeing as you looked suspicious along with many others around you. And unfortunately the innocents involved here paid a priced for being suspects of the incidents and with that said shots were fired, people were being caught without acknowledgement but you were quick to free and aid those around you only to get caught in the crossfire as well as bullet connected with your heart causing you to stagger but, aggressively throw the nearest item impaling the agent who shot you.

The crazy thing is this was being recorded and from the camera view it looks like your dead but GUN immediately cut the camera of any video footage of being used hoping no suspect caught that. But, what they didn't know was years later when Robotnik was hidden and free he managed to see everything from GUN view and it wasn't a pleasant side but he had a hunch that you either ran away or your actually dead regardless your fate is unknown.

Now! 50 years later shadow now awoken back with the doctor witnessing the video again he glared at the video and the destroyed the footage out of anger to see you too have also been killed. Maria came to mind reminding him how she would loved to meet up with you and grow close to you. You weren't wrong with the explanation you gave describing earth he sees it himself the ugly of this planet that he's grown to hate. You we're just protecting others just like how maria was protecting him yet met with horrible fates.

Apart of him wonder if your half human do to the way you seemed bleed from your wound. Your other half couldn't protect you forever is what he got from this. He hated how angry he was for getting maria killed and how you ended up dying due to GUN way of handling suspects that had no say in what him and the doctor had in stored.

So as he followed the plan with robotnik to rid of this world he seeks out team sonic to capture them all to stop them from interfering. You we're outside of the broken down facility wanting to scout for anything and be a witness just incase something goes downhill you could seek help or aid team sonic if needed. You didn't trust eggman nor his henchman although you did find them humorous and shared a few laughs with them but they were suspicious of you since you move too silently for their comfort. Sonic seemed to brag about you and lot to your dismay. You like to remain hidden and isolated for others safety or unless you felt the need to socialize or aid someone if necessary.

Knuckles thinks your sneaky since it's hard to pin point unless someone directly watches you move but sees you as a soft warrior due to have fast you are to defend or protect anyone or anything. Tails finds it amazing with your stealthy skills and gets spooked from time to time when you randomly show up yet he's so interested in your appearance and hidden skills you've yet to reveal.

Sonic on the other hand gives you a few scares or panics due to him happily running up to hug you through generosity or amazement he's managed to jump on your back, arms around your neck hugging you tightly only for you to shake him off or causd you quickly tear him off you only for you to apologize and tell him your sensitive when it comes to affection which he apologies and has to be reminded to tone down his aggressive affectionate behavior sometimes.

It's been quite some time since you heard from team sonic so you quickly made your way through the building into a room where you see eggman and robotnik stroll away towards shadow as shadow eyes were immediately met with yours but you broke eye contact and made your way towards the team to free them as sonic called out towards you in joy as you quickly checked for any injuries on the 3 seeing none thankfully. But as you were going to began cutting through the rope and heavy piece of metal was launched towards you but smacked it out of the way despite feeling a tiny bit of pain from the force.

Shadow: 50 years... yet your still here. How can this be? I saw the footage. Doctor explain.

Robotnik: Patience shadow. It's nice to see you again Misses...?

So in return you just closed your eyes and lift one hand to your heart and then moved it slightly in almost a thanking gesture in a way gesturing your condolences to him which he understood.

Robotnik: Ms.Y/n may I offer you something?

Y/n: Not really although I can't say I'm thrilled to see a younger version of him before me though.

Shadow: That's not why I'm throwing these at her I want answers. How are you alive? I saw you die. You got shot! So explain yourself!

You were then about to make your way towards the trio again but stopped as shadow threw a few pipes separating you and causing the floor below you to shatter but you managed to balance yourself with a few pipes he threw.

You had to move carefully as debris were flying past you but before you could reach the boys heard shadow appeared behind you but you didn't bother to look back but you did grab huge pieces of debris and chunck it his way.

You could hear him knock them aside but that didn't stop you as you then transformed back into a ribbion quickly making it to the boys but shadow then punched the floor causing you to lose balance and even come out of your ribbion form due to the impact you felt but that only stopped you for a second but that was enough time for him to appear im front of you and this time you had no time to react as he then tossed another gadget behind you pulling you the opposite way from the trio and this time you had no choice but to hold onto the ground you didn't bother looking up you knew he was there but you remained calm despite the change in gravity your claws allowed you to stay put.

Hell, he still wanted answers and to know more from you so decided before you tried to leap further below he appeared in front of you as your torso almost collided with him but he didn't care and caught you midway and teleported you back in a room what seemed to his. You only blinked as you moved back now sitting on the floor, back leaning on his bed. He then dissappear and appeared once more but this time brushes something against your neck causing you to swipe at him and he easily dodges as he watches you quicky grab your neck feeling around only too see a magnetic necklace hovering around you closing in around your neck when you attempt to tamper with it.

Shadow just knew you were limited to your power and thus he took advantage of it as long as it doesn't hurt you that is.

Shadow then grabbed a cup of water and set it down by a stand nearby then, approached you.

I think that's what makes him the Perfect villain because unlike with Sonic's other enemies, he rejects EVERYTHING that has to do with Sonic, including his compassion, he would rather die than to accept Sonic's hand because to him, Sonic is weak, he doesn't Want to be redeemed, he KNOWS he's evil and will continue to be so until Sonic is just another creature underneath his heel, he sees everything he stands for as obsolete and therefore considers himself the BETTER version because HE doesn't hold back or try to redeem people, his entire purpose is just to KILL, CONQUER, and DESTROY, he has no room for emotion or any other humanlike trait, he is robotnik's greatest creation because he doesn't disobey and is only done what he is told, and even when he DID get a consciousness and turned against robotnik, he never changed who he was and still continued to be evil. I hope they take heavy inspiration from this film in Sonic 4 because this is literally the PERFECT way to do metal Sonic, and I just know the movie's is gonna do great things with this character because he's literally never talked about enough, plus this movie is SERIOUSLY underrated 😅

I think that out of all 3 movies, Sonic 1 Robotnik is my fav if we don’t look at the fact that he’s supposed to be, well, Robotnik. Like, sure, he’s not the most game accurate, but if we don’t look at that, I do just like him better.

In the first movie he obviously hasn’t gone crazy just yet. But not just that, he seems more rational, more confident. He doesn’t want revenge like in the second movie nor is it like anything in the third movie, he is just interested. There’s an alien on Earth and he wants to get to know all about it.

And while he is technically working for the government, it’s clear he couldn’t care less about that. He does his own thing and sees them as nothing but idiots- well, with the exception for one… for the most part.

It’s clear that before Sonic he had never lost, that he had never failed. He truly was the smartest person on Earth, and nobody could stop him or even try to contain him. If anything, it’s a wonder he’s working for the government in the first place.

And then there’s his relationship with Stone because of course I have to talk about that too. We don’t see a lot of them, especially Stone just sorta… disappears, but their dynamic is really interesting, especially when they’re around others.

Like, Agent or not, but we see from the very start that Stone is loyal to Robotnik, immediately ‘translating’ for him. And then Robotnik asks if he ‘can feel it’. It’s a very small thing, but we can clearly see that Robotnik values Stone more than anybody else, at least from what we’ve seen so far.

And then when we see Robotnik analysing Sonic’s footprint, he explains everything to Stone, even moving out of the way so he can see it clearly. He does also insult Stone is this scene, yet it seems more… mild compared to the insults he gives to other characters, something that continues for the rest of the movie.

Stone is also always next to him. Not behind him like all of the other agents, but always next to him. It’s a small detail for sure, but one I did just want to point out.

And honestly, there’s even more than that. I could most definitely go into more dept if you guys want, but I also want some sleep, so… Gonna have to leave it here for today. I just really like his character in Sonic 1, mostly because it’s just so different from the Robotnik we have almost everywhere else.

"Come on, Y/N, snap out of it!" he yelled desperately. His usual cocky grin was nowhere to be found. His face was contorted in panic as he dodged another attack you threw at him, before jumping to Dodge another attack from one of eggmans mechas. His eyes darted between you and Robotnik's latest monstrosity.

But you didn't respond. You simply stood there, your stance rigid, your expression devoid of any emotion. The once bright spark in your eyes had been replaced by an eerie, lifeless glow. Robotnik’s laughter echoed through the air, sharp and mocking.

"Looks like your little 'friend' has finally seen the light, hedgehog!" Robotnik sneered, leaning out of his floating pod. "They're mine now, and there’s nothing you can do about it!"

Sonic clenched his fists, his body tensing as his mind raced for a plan. "You’re wrong, Egghead! I'll get them back, no matter what!"

Robotnik only laughed harder, motioning toward you. "Go on, my dear. Show Sonic where your loyalty lies."

Your body moved, almost mechanically, stepping forward with cold, unrecognizable precision. Sonic flinched as you raised your weapon, one of Robotnik’s energy blasters, aiming it directly at him.

"Y/N, come on! Snap out of it!" He desperately wanyed to try and shake you out if it but you aimed the weapon at his head.

Without hesitation, you pulled the trigger.

Of course, Sonic is still the fastest thing alive, so he dodged it easily, darting to the side. He skidded to a halt, his eyes filled with a mix of shock and heartbreak. You were really trying to hurt him.

"Guess I’ll have to do this the hard way," he muttered to himself, shaking off the dread creeping into his chest.

Sonic lunged forward, zipping around you in a blur. He didn’t want to hurt you, but he needed to disarm you somehow. As he closed the distance, he could see the faint tremor in your hands.

You turned to him, aiming at him, and firing, though he dodged.

"Come on Y/N! Youre better than this!"

For a brief moment, recognition flickered through your eyes. But it was quickly snuffed out as Robotnik barked another order.

"Enough!" Eggman ordered. "Finish him, or you’ll regret it!"

Your body stiffened, your movements becoming even more rigid. Sonic gritted his teeth, frustration bubbling up inside him. He hated Robotnik more than ever. How could he- no, how dare have the audacity to lay his hands on you.

"Fine, If you won’t let them go, I’ll just have to take them back."

Sonic closed the gap between you in an instant. . You lashed out, your movements swift and precise, but Sonic was faster. He dodged your strikes with ease, his focus unshakable. As you swung at him again, he caught your wrist, holding you in place.

Sonic held your wrist tightly as he sped away from the battlefield, dodging blasts and debris from the collapsing mecha behind him. His heart was pounding. He refused to let Robotnik keep you like this, this cold, unrecognizable version of yourself. He wasn’t going to lose you.

"Hang in there, Y/N," he muttered under his breath as he reached a secluded clearing far from the chaos. He gently set you down, though you struggled, thrashing against his grip with the same mechanical precision. "I'm sorry about this," he said softly, grabbing a piece of rope he’d snagged earlier and tying your wrists and ankles together. You struggled harder, but Sonic was too fast and too determined.

Once you were secure, Sonic knelt in front of you, his hands gripping your shoulders as he stared into your lifeless eyes. "This isn’t you," he whispered. "You’re stronger than whatever Robotnik’s done to you. I’ll fix this, I promise."

He fumbled for his communicator, dialing Tails with shaky hands. "Tails, I need you," "he said as soon as his friend picked up. It’s Y/N… Eggman did something to them. I don’t know what, but they’re not themselves."

Tails voice crackled through the communicator, calm but concerned. "Bring them to my workshop. I’ll see what I can do."

Sonic hesitated, glancing at you as you continued to struggle against the restraints. He hated seeing you like this, but he couldn’t risk untying you just yet. "Alright, but you’d better be ready, buddy. I’m bringing them now."

When Sonic arrived at Tails workshop, the fox was already waiting, tools and scanners laid out in preparation. Sonic carefully carried you inside, setting you down on a padded table as Tails got to work.

"They've gone under some kind of mind control," Sonic explained, pointing toward hus head as he tapped his shoe on the ground. "Eggman’s got them doing his dirty work, and I can’t... I can’t lose them, Tails."

Tails nodded, scanning you with one of his devices. "It looks like Eggman implanted a neural control chip. It’s suppressing their free will and amplifying his commands. I think I can disable it, but it’s going to take some time."

"Then do it," Sonic said firmly, his hands clenched into fists. "I don’t care how long it takes, just fix it."

Tails worked diligently, carefully removing the chip while Sonic stayed by your side, holding your hand even as you fought against him.

Finally, after what felt like hours, Tails let out a relieved sigh. "That should do it. The chip’s deactivated, and their neural pathways should return to normal soon."

Sonic’s ears perked up as he looked at you. Slowly, your eyes fluttered closed, and when they reopened, the lifeless glow was gone. Instead, there was confusion, fear, and, most importantly, recognition.

"Sonic…?" you murmured, your voice shaky.

"Y/N!" Sonic’s voice cracked as he pulled you into a tight hug, relief washing over him. "You’re back! I knew you could fight it."

You blinked, your memories slowly coming back. "What... happened?"

"It doesn’t matter now," Sonic said quickly, holding you closer. "You’re safe, and I’m never letting him hurt you again."

Over the next few days, Sonic barely left your side. He hovered constantly, always checking on you, asking how you were feeling, and making sure you ate and rested. At first, you appreciated his concern, it was comforting to have him so close after everything. But as time went on, his behavior became more and more overwhelming.

"Sonic, I’m fine," you said one afternoon, trying to step outside for some fresh air. But Sonic was already blocking the door.

"Are you sure? What if Robotnik tries something again? You should stay inside where it’s safe."

"Sonic," you said firmly, placing a hand on his shoulder. "I can take care of myself. You don’t have to watch me 24/7."

His eyes softened slightly, but he still didnt relent. "I almost lost you, Y/N. I can't let that happen again. I won't."

You frowned, trying to reason with him. "Sonic, you saved me. I'm okay now. You don’t need to-"

"I do need to," he interrupted, his voice uncharacteristically serious. "You don’t get it, Y/N. I can’t lose you. Ever. You mean too much to me."

The way he said it sent a chill down your spine. You tried to step back, but Sonic caught your wrist.

"Don’t worry," he said, his usual grin returning, "I’ll make sure nothing ever happens to you again. You’re safe with me."

Hello, I've been a fan of your yandere ramblings, especially the sonic ones since no one does those really on this.

So I came with my own little ramblings for a human y/n that gets sucked into mobias (basically a reverse sonic X)

First of all, y/n is always staying at someone's house in a rotation (from cream and vanilla to tails to Amy, etc), and isn't allowed to sleep on their own without some mobian cuddling them.

Also y/n pulls a generations and meets different eras of the sonic cast, first meeting classic sonic, tails, knuckles, Amy, robotnik and metal sonic. And robotnik just being intrigued by this other human, and has metal kidnap them (who grows obsessed, yandere robot go brr).

And after a lot of classic obsession and shenanigans, y/n is transported to the mid modern era (sonic adventure and advanced series), and meets new characters like cream, big and chaos.

Cream is the only normal one (still is clingy), and tails is slightly more obsessive (still normal tho), and chaos just plays hot potato of constantly nabbing y/n during adventure 1.

Then onto generations itself and the time monster decides to also nab y/n because Eggman told them to (definitely not because it finds this human adorable).

Also fleetway sonic and scourge being the clingiest and jealous hedgehogs ever.

Omega also likes to just hold y/n randomly, like he does with cream and cheese in the comics

(tails and cream and chao's are strictly platonic yanderes for any yandere sonic stuff I do and may add to the platonic only if needed)

I do imagine they have their are scared as all hell but for classic sonic I do imagine he is shorter kinda how it is in other modern games and just imagining y/n in changing styles everytime they are put into a new sonic generation just to fit into the era. And is the classic era kinda wearing something like eggmans fit but modified to be their own and kinda fitting the hero style but they do try to take their gloves off but it's a struggle. And just imagining classic knuckles keeping y/n near the master emerald as that way he can protect two things at once. Tails is kinda like a that little brother who always wants to show you stuff even if your already doing something. Like tails will come to y/n and holds up his newest invention and y/n is like "oh cool. But tails I'm really busy right now t-" and tails is like "hold on let me show you want it does" and ends up destroying the only portal way home for y/n.

I do imagine just y/n at classic Amy's place and is just like "I wonder if I can make a run for it to see what would happen." But mostly just waiting for the right moment to run like when classic eggman and sonic were fighting and ended up tripping into a open portal somehow and now are in the mid modern era and I like to think their outfits changes to corespondents with the sonic era they are in. And imagining with some cross over games may or may not become obsessed with y/n like the sonic characters are and it's hell for y/n cause like bro has to deal with this now.

Plus imagining omega just being a kinda bodyguard for y/n is nice. They don't know omega is obsessed to buy keeps it more professional and so is shadow because he grows more insistent that he go everywhere with y/n to keep them safe even if not endanger, he still goes just to be sure nothing happens and then rouge is like "oh the master emerald and y/n! What a package deal!" and steals both but if she cannot get the emerald, she goes for the better option and y/n having to cling into rouge because like they do not wanna fall from how high she flys cause like bro you wouldn't be scared just looking down to see how far from the ground you are from?

Plus imagining y/n having a bunch of chao's walking behind y/n like ducklings because I say so and y/n wanting to take one because it decided to sleep on y/n's lap but they can't take them out of the chao garden. I love chao's they are so silly.

Also metal sonic after he sees y/n standing minding their own business:

Metal sonic and y/n are bascially that scene with miles running away and Miguel chasing him. And imagining that metal sonic dragging y/n back to eggmans base by the ankle because like I know if metal sonic held hands with y/n, he ain't never letting go of y/n's hand

SHADOW - G.U.N AGENT

Shadow was initially created with the intention of being a Weapon Against Humanity. after a life-altering incident, G.U.N. takes Shadow into their custody, raising him to become one of their top agents, exploiting him.

he's constantly under government surveillance... inhibitor rings (developed by G.U.N.) are clamped onto him like a shock collar so he is unable to tap into his full power. (Shadow has neither tested nor does he know the extent of his strength.. he has never tried removing them. G.U.N. is the only one who can remove them.)

the hypocritical method in wanting their weapon (cough trained dog) to exercise and develop restraint on his own terms, and yet forcefully acclimating him.

Shadow’s aware of his past. Definitely struggles with Existential dread about why he’s on Earth and what he was made for. he wants to (and feels like he should) do good, but if he was initially made with destructive intent… is he compensating this way? is this what he really wants? no.. he shouldn't think like that.. Maria would want him to be good..

If not to make the world the better a place, if they still treat his kind as inferior and sometimes, even a threat to the whole human race, does humanity and this planet still deserve its rite for redemption? What is humanity? Is that something he’s capable of, as a weapon of mass destruction?

what is he trying to prove here? His docility? His ability to be obedient and be, by human standards, good? what does that mean in a world that may never accept them, and much less him- a synthetic and all-unnatural organism forged from humanity’s worst and an alien race only capable of Evil and wrongdoing. a being so perfectly suited for any and all forms of persecution. Humankind’s scapegoat. He thinks about Maria.

Maria remains a guiding light. Back then, she would sneak Shadow out to gaze upon the Earth, her former home. She misses it, the lush greenery, the sun, the people. she hopes that Shadow will get to experience what it’s like.

au shadow is emo edgy in a sad wet adult 40yo cat leon kennedy kind of way. au sonic is emo edgy like a 14yo that found out you could buy a tattoo gun on amazon without a license. I know nothing about resident evil

when he's not on a mission, he's usually in his "room" (extremely generous word for containment chamber/training facility.) he's like a hamster in a cage with toys to play with . (treadmills. race tracks. dummy robots. Ak-47s.) He's allowed to freely roam HQ from hours 6am-10pm, and if not, he is usually escorted by a guard, unless its Rouge sneaking him out. But beyond that, it's not like the ultimate lifeform needs that much sleep, and it'd be bad to have their ultimate weapon roaming the halls without supervision. but let's say there's the occasional nocturnal scavenger providing him a bit of nightly mischief that even the most complicated most difficult to navigate ventilation system cannot keep a natural-born burrower out..... (haha)

SONIC - ACCOMPLICE

Robotnik’s “accomplice” (adoptive son?)

Sonic goes along with Robotnik’s schemes but has his own ulterior motives .. after all, working under someone is still infringing on his sense of freedom, independence, and pride.

He only rlly helps out Robotnik out if it helps him… robotnik makes some new tech that tickles his , esp if smth that happens to enhance his existing abilities. sure he’s more than capable of doing things on his own but what’s better than to play with his new toys with his already existing toys (GUN. shadow.)

and if he manages to break them in a day then he’s found an issue that robotnik needs to troubleshoot immediately. eggman should really be Thanking him!

his only known goal atm is to find things that stave off his boredom. from what Shadow's gathered at least. but maybe there's more...

has a very bad No Good Fixation on shadow's inhibitor rings for whatever reason. wonder that could mean.

Baba Aban, however, seems to understand you.

Of course he respects Papa's wishes, keeps you close when you do go out, but he tries to sate your interest in humanity best he can.

Always open to questions, and will try to answer everything as age-appropriately as possible.

"What does Papa do all day?"

"He builds things for the government."

"Why?"

"Because it pays well enough to raise you and keeps him busy."

"Why doesn't Papa like other people?"

He.. doesn't have an answer for that one. Not really.

It's not a lie, but it's not the truth, and the way you huff lets him know you're onto him.

SO since we don't yet know how Shadow calmed tf down in the movie, bare with me here.

After the events of Movie 2 and then the unearthing of Project Shadow, you and your dads are living in the Crabmeat base deep in the Pacific

You and Baba Aban still surface occasionally for groceries and supplies, while Papa Ivo throws himself into his work to distract himself from his latest defeat.

During one surface visit, looking around the Seattle streets while on the back of Baba Aban's motorcycle, you see a strangely familiar figure on a similar vehicle.

You tug on your das's sleeve before gearuring toward the hedgehog

"Baba.. that's not Sonic, is it?"

He looks, does a double take

"Uh.. no."

He's stopping near the same lot the two of you are, and Baba instructs you to message Papa

"Found another alien hedgehog, will update"

He seems wary when the two of you approach, glancing between you as Aban steps closer, an arm in front of your chest to keep you back behind him

"Who are you?"

The hedgehog glares, and you slink just a bit closer to see him

"I am the ultimate life form."

"Decided by who?"

"That's none of your concern."

The two are almost circling one another now, Baba keeping you behind him, even if just barely

"It's my concern if you're here to.. to destroy humanity, or whatever."

You eye him from behind your dad, but he just huffs a laugh

"Destroy? I was created to preserve your human lives."

Your eyes widen again, catching his own before he glanced back towards your Baba

"Is that a problem?"

You tug at Aban's sleeve again, and he slows his movement, letting you peek out more from behind him

"No.. I don't suppose it is."

You finally slip out from behind him, smiling, and Shadow is hit, mentally, with the image of Maria, smile - the same energy as your own

A certain kind of sad loneliness, with an undertone of care

He doesn't know why he thinks of it that way

All he knows is that it feels like home again

The two of you see each other a few times after that, while out on errands with Baba

Papa wants to meet him - of course - but doesn't want another Knuckles situation

(He's very glad that the echidna didn't try and go after you for revenge - after the emerald was taken away, he wasn't sure he could have saved you)

So he lets you - and Stone - approach him on the surface

Not that you know explicitly that you're helping.

Neither of your dad's know about Maria - at least not explicitly - and Shadow still hasn't voiced why he's so attached to you

He finds himself following you whenever he sees you on earth

Of course you're with Baba every time, kept at arms length from Shadow, but he keeps coming back

Papa allows it because he hasn't made any threats

Baba allows it because he seems genuinely friendly

And doesn't seem to recognize him

Finally - FINALLY - Papa asks Baba to help bring him to the base

Respectfully, if possible. He wants to keep the peace, even if it's just for your sake

You get to be the lucky one to invite Shadow to the base

You smile when you ask if he'd like to come, and all he can see is Maria inviting him to see a new breakthrough from her grandfather

He says yes

Immediately

Your smile gets wider

"This is the first time I've invited a friend home!"

His poor, walled-off heart cracks just a little, and he gives Stone a Look™

Baba just glanced away before offering him a ride in a (rented) car

The two of you sit in the back, just talking to each other, while Stone contemplated how he got to driving one of the aliens.

To his home.

With his child in the backseat next to said alien.

As long as you're happy, and Ivo's happy, then he's sure he'll be fine

Shadow is still vague with answers around his past - every time you try and engage him about family, friends, childhood, home - he thinks of Maria

He still tries to answer you - he grew up in space, with his best friend and her grandfather.

She was.. sick. Very sick. And she died.

Conveniently leaving GUN out of the convo.

He sees the sadness you have for him - the same Maria held when she told him to go - and decides that he'll make space for himself in your life

If you let him.

ONLY if you let him.

The three of you make it back to crabmeat safely, and both of your dads hover, but let you interact how you want

Shadow sees a lot of Gerald in your Papa, but won't say anything.

He can't

Not yet, at least

He ends up staying the night, nested on your floor next to your own little fort, facing the door even in his sleep

Ivo tolerates it, if barely

He brought the hedgehog here to study, not to befriend his baby

"What if he has.. space rabies?!"

Stone just rolls his eyes as he shuts your door most the way, alarm systems all in place for the night

"This is the first time they've had a friend over, Ivo. We'll know if something goes wrong - just let them have this."

"This" turned into "a live-in best friend" rather quickly, to both parents' surprise (and your absolute delight)

Eventually, he caves.

He starts answering questions truthfully, the pain still rather fresh in his mind

He tells you about Maria, about GUN, about his purpose and pain

And you're there to comfort him

He's not graphic, and you don't push, and he appreciates it more than he'll voice, even to you

He figures that as long as you're willing to be there and listen, he'll be there to keep you safe company

Both dads are.. annoyed

Ivo thinks this new hedgehog is overbearing - always at your shoulder, keeping you company when he's supposed to be, never seeming to let you out of his sight

Stone thinks he's up to something, the way he lingers between streets when you're out, watching from the shadows (ha)

In reality, he's just trying to keep you safe

Your dads seem to figure that out when one of Ivo's ridiculous predictions comes true - you wander just a bit too far from Baba to look at some UV lights for your plants on Crabmeat, and someone grabs your arm as they walk past, jostling you enough that you yelp

Shadow is there in half a second, sending the aggressor to the floor before tugging on your hand, coaxing you down so he can look at the bruise forming on your bicep

Baba Aban is there a second later, lowering himself and helping Shadow turn your arm before helping you back up

"We should leave."

The three of you are silent until halfway back to the base, when Baba tilts the rearview to look at Shadow while he's druving

"Shadow.."

"What?"

He always glares when he talks to anyone besides you. Typically toward the floor or their chests, but right now he's looking your Baba in the eyes through the mirror, watching your father's gaze soften

Abusive fictional fathers - Robotnik vs. Stolas

I won't be talking about Coconuts here since he's not on screen that much, but know that I feel sorry for the stuff he's been through, poor guy

Robotnik ⮕ Scratch & Grounder

Like... he literally only created these two to use and abuse them and that's crystal clear

When I say Robotnik is an abusive pos, this is what I mean (and this is just some of the physical abuse, don't even get me started on the emotional):

...Okay, that last picture was the last straw. Robotnik's thrist for power has officially outweighted Scratch and Grounder's "value." He felt 0 remorse for throwing them into the lava. Keep in mind, he THOUGHT HE HAD KILLED THEM and DIDN'T CARE AT ALL. Thankfully they were fine. And no the fact that they're robots doesn't make it any less wrong

If you're willing to sacrifice your children for a powerful artefact, then I'm (NOT) sorry to say this, but you're a heartless pos and deserve to be held accountable for your actions. If I were in Scratch and Grounder's shoes, I would have ran the hell away right then and there and found home elsewhere

However, unlike with Stolas and Octavia, at least the narrative doesn't try to convince us that Robotnik loves his sons. Because if he did, he would have tried to change his behavior. Or better, he wouldn't have abused them IN THE FIRST PLACE! AT ALL! No matter what he had gone through! I'm not denying that his mom was a pos to him just like he's a pos to scratch and grounder, but i refuse to see this as an excuse. he should have tried his best to break the cycle of abuse

Stolas ⮕ Octavia

Stolas is shown to have been there for Via in her childhood. although we never see them bond over anything, connect emotionally with each other or spend quality time together, we've only got this one nightmare scene. this was the only time stolas was shown to care about octavia

He did his best to calm her down and make her feel safe, then proceeded to break his promise for a booty call. For a childhood "friend" that his father bought for him 25 years ago.

And you're telling me how Stolas didn't realize that bringing Blitzø along in Loo Loo Land is uh... a bad idea that will make his daughter feel even worse?

I HATE the excuse that Stolas was "just clueless." Because anyone with the tiniest bit of common sense would come to the same conclusion: flirting with your booty call in front of your daughter who is a minor and going through emotional hell that happened because you cheated on her mother makes you a horrible and selfish father.

Even worse is that Stolas doesn't learn his lesson and once again neglects Octavia. Stolas is too busy hating his ex wife and gushing over his abuse victim that he can't even be bothered to look for his daughter himself, and instead Loona has to be the one to go find her. And then she literally tells Via how her dad's trying his best and how she should cut him some slack. No. No she shouldn't. Octavia was right to think that Stolas hates Stella more than he loves her because that's what his actions show.

He can hug her all he wants and promise to do better but he has done nothing to even TRY to be better for this poor girl.

Not to mention that Loona is a hypocrite. Blitzø has always been doing his best to be a good dad to her, and she thanks him for saving her life by being a complete bitch. It's been five. Fucking. Years. Of unconditional love and support from Blitzø's side. And what does he get in return? A kick in the balls. Blitzø also got beat up by her and hit with the "if I'm so terrible why don't you replace me" after he rightfully called her out and you're trying to tell me Blitzø was the one in the wrong and how this isn't abusive huh ok then whatever ya say

I won't talk about the upcoming episode much. I honestly just don't have the strength anymore. But to make it as short as possible, Stolas is gonna be treated like an uwu poor sad gay boi and once again choose Blitzø, the guy he r*ped, over his own child.

If you check out the leaked story boards for s2 ep12, you'll see how disgusting it is that Via is spitting nothing but facts and yet she'll be demonized by the writers, Stolas lovers and Stolitz shippers. Just...

Please stop lying, dude. Just stop. You shattered her entire life and neglected her for a guy you abused and never got to know on a level that's deeper than sex. No wonder Via thinks he doesn’t love her anymore. The line above gives me the same vibe as THIS line also they made Stolas not only ACT like a guy who victimizes himself but LOOK that way too

STOP LYING. JUST SHUT UP.

And yeah, I get it: he was put in an arranged marriage (this was clearly a retcon, but whatever floats viv's boat) despite being gay and was sheltered and never had friends, but those are explanations for his behavior, not excuses.

Oh and, to anyone who thinks otherwise: Emotional neglect is a form of abuse.

Closing Thoughts

One important thing that I noticed with both Scratch and Grounder and Octavia, is how none of them feel at home with their fathers. A reliable way to know whether you've failed as a parent or not is to see how your behavior affects your kid(s). How does your behavior make them feel?

Let's see here... *checks notes*

Octavia says how Stolas ruined their family, not Stella and in ep12 she's finally gonna call him out on his bullshit thank god. but unfortunately the toxic gay ship will once again be a priority because it's gay

Scratch and Grounder are terrified of Robotnik's wrath, he constantly makes them feel useless and unwanted, but at the same time, they have no problem betraying him both of them always come back to him, just like how Blitzø doesn't leave his abuser because he wants to feel "loved" and "needed" for once even though Stolas treats him like shit

So yeah, if you made your kid(s) feel this way, you've officially failed as a father.
