"Red-Hot Romance? Lando Norris Seen Leaving Vegas Party With Same Mystery Woman as Before — Are They Hooking Up or Dating?"

In a city where parties never cease, it seems that Formula 1 driver Lando Norris just can't get enough of nightlife. Just a week after being spotted leaving a Vegas party with a mysterious red head, the 24-year-old was seen doing the exact same thing once again! "Waking up in the bed of a Formula 1 driver..again..I guess I can scratch that off the bucketlist." liz thinks to herself as she slips out of the bed she spent the night in, quietly making her way to the kitchen.

She stops infront of a mirror to fix her hair and tug the giant white shirt she's wearing further down even though that wasn't going to fix anything. She looks for her own clothes around the house before she ends up pulling it out from under his sofa. How did that even get there? I don't think I want to find out.

She makes her way to the kitchen, the cool marble flooring against her feet waking her up almost instantaneously.

The morning starts with her on call with her manager, arranging her private jet to leave as soon as possible while she raids lando's fridge in hopes of food. I guess a kinder egg still counts?

Chomping into the chocolate she quietly (but quickly) gathers her things and leaves his appartment, praying she doesn't get spotted by any paparazzi. If there's one thing she learnt the hard way it's that boys are no good.

Sam's pov :

I closed the impala door before approaching the kinder garden. I can't believe we're picking a kid up just so Dean can get laid! I stood off to the side as Dean talked to the woman at the desk. He didn't seem to have much luck as She kept shaking her head and ignoring him.

"Sam?" a voice called beside me, the voice was familiar but I couldn't place it. I turned to see y/n looking at me slightly confused, slightly panicked. The truth was I was feeling panicked too. The last time I saw y/n She was leaving. Leaving the hunting life, leaving her reality and leaving me. We weren't officially dating, everyone knew we were together but we never really said it.

"How've you been?' She asked a little nervously. I was nervous too, I haven't seen her in years but she looks just as beautiful as she was when I fell in love with her. I couldn't hold in my smile.

"I'm good, Dean's his usual self. Picking a kid up so he can get laid with the mother." I chuckled as she giggled slightly, the beautiful giggle I had always missed. "What are you doing here?' I asked looking around the bright colours of the kinder garden. She cleared her throat about to speak when She was interrupted.

"Mommy!" a little girl chanted as she ran to y/n. The little girl instantly ran into her arms as she crouched to hug her. I looked over the scene confused but soon saw Dean approaching seeming just as confused as I was. Y/n began talking to the little girl about her day. 

"Is that?' Dean questions so I answered with a simple yes. "She has a kid?' he questioned again so I repeated my answer. I was shaken back into reality when the little girl approached Dean and me.

"Hi, I'm Rory." The little girl explained in the cutest voice imaginable. 

"It's nice to meet you," Dean replied showing how bad he is with kids. He doesn't know she won't understand. 

"It's nice to meet you too. You're Sam and Dean, my mommy has a photo with you at home," Rory explained and I was a little shocked not just because of the photo but because she couldn't be any older than three. She's a baby and having a full conversation. 

"Who are you here for?" Y/N asked Dean so he smiled. 

"Lydia's boy," He explained so she smiled and approached the woman at the desk. She began talking to her but I couldn't listen in. 

"How tall are you?" Rory asked me so I looked at her. 

"6'3," I replied. So, she smiled.

"You're taller than my dad. I've never met him but mommy says I'll probably be taller than her because of his height," She explained so I smiled. She seems pretty smart for a child. Dean gave me a look, I couldn't explain it but I looked at him confused. 

"He had to have died, no one would dare leave Y/N even if she was pregnant, she's still hot," He commented making me roll my eyes. It was always obvious Dean wanted her but she paid him no attention, even before her and I were almost a thing. It's strange to see her having a normal life. Every hunter always says there's no way out but she did it. I always believed that if anyone could do it, it would be her. Y/N started approaching us again, this time a boy was holding her hand. She smiled at me and it felt as though nothing had changed like I was back 4 years in time and seeing her as I always did. A weird part of me was expecting her to do our little signal for us to find somewhere private but she didn't, she just smiled at Rory. 

"Where are you heading?" I asked a little too enthusiastically. She giggled and Rory seemed to look at her a little confused. Giggling was always something she only did with me, maybe that's still the case. I smiled at the thought. 

"Rory and I have plans but it was nice seeing you," She explained as she said goodbye to the little boy and took Rory's hand. She gave me a final smile before leaving, I watched after her as my eyes followed her out of view. 

I was sat with the little boy, Luke, as Dean entertained his mother. Luke was happily watching TV so I sat thinking of Y/N. She hasn't changed, even after giving birth, she had the same body and smile. 

"What's your name?" The boy asked bringing me back to reality. 

"Sam," I replied a little confused, I had told him earlier. 

"Why does that man call you Sammy?" He asked so I sighed. I don't want to think about Dean right now, not when I know what he's doing to his mom. 

"I'm his brother, he always calls me Sammy," I explained but he smiled. 

"Why didn't Rory call you Daddy?" He asked so I looked at him confused. "My mom says Rory's dad was called Sammy and miss Y/N was stupid for leaving him. She thinks she's an idiot because she saw your picture and says you're hot... Are you sick?" He rambled and suddenly I was lost thinking. 

"How old is Rory?" I asked and he smiled. 

"3, she brought the cake into school last week," He explained and I sat silently doing maths. If Rory is 3 and her birthday was last week then Y/N would have been 4 months pregnant when she left. The baby is mine! Rory is my little girl! I quickly jumped to my feet. 

"Wait here and watch the TV" I explained before hurrying out the house and into the Impala. I hurried to the school and approached the woman at the desk. "Y/N, do you know where she is?" I asked hastily. The woman at the desk seemed surprised by my urgency but calmed down to give me a sympathetic look. 

"She just called, she pulled Rory out of school. Y/N's dad has fallen sick and she needs to leave town to look after him, I'm sorry," She explained making me groan. I rubbed my face as I willed the tears in my eyes not to fall. Y/N's dad died years ago, it's why she became a hunter. I sighed as I left, it's been years since I've seen her, I don't want to wait another 4 years to see her again. What am I supposed to do?

Someone wrote on one of these boyfriend vs boyfriend old skool Gilmore Girls posts that Logan was to be desired because he "always was kind to Rory's friends and family" and um....no?

I'm not saying he was an asshole 100% of the time because he wasn't. However, he's invited to dinner at the elder Gilmores (where he knows they'll treat him like royalty because they want to move up in their social circle to his, which they do) and he takes advantage of his position to steal from them in front of Rory's mother as a joke (knowing they'll blame the help). He and his friends are awful to Marty simply because Marty doesn't come from money. He belittles and antagonizes Jess during their sole interaction even though Rory called him a friend and wanted Logan to be nice to him. He and Paris are constantly at odds and he begs off going to Lane's baby shower to go party with his friends.

Granted, he is gracious and charming and respectful on many other occasions. Overall, Jess and Dean are often ruder and more combative. However, the counterargument to that is that a key part of his personality is charming people sometimes because he wants to be respectful and sometimes so he can manipulate them into getting what he wants, which is not the case with Dean and Jess. And also...he is older, so he *should* be more mature and handle himself better. We know Dean and Jess between the ages of 16/17 to 19/20 (with a return appearance by Jess at 21 when he is much more mature) while we know Logan between the ages of 22-25. He SHOULD act like an adult because he is one, while Dean and Jess are literally children for a good deal of the time we know them.

The fact that he still pulls shitty stunts like trying to steal from Richard and Emily as an adult makes his worse moments seem even more juvenile. So, no, overall I would not say that he is universally kinder to Rory's friends and family, and the extent to which he does try to extend social graces towards them as opposed to the other two boys shouldn't be seen as an equal comparison because of their ages and/or Logan's motivations at least some of the time.

"I had a dog growing up. And an old mouser that died when I was a kid," Mick says, while pulling out his wallet, "Here, I have a picture of me & Rory from when he was a pup. I was ten at the time." He shows you the picture of Rory, a bully mix, with little Mick next to him. They both have ears that are way too big for their heads, & they're both smiling goofily at the camera.

Dell chuckles, "Well, I shared most of my pets with my brother, but my pa once bought me a race horse that I named Cheesesticks. I was just a kid, so I wasn't allowed to ride him yet, or gamble, but I got to brush him every day! Otherwise we had a lot of pets, pa liked spoiling me & my brother since he was always away working for the Mann brothers. What?" He turns to see Bug & Jeremy staring at him blankly.

"I had a hamster." Jeremy says.

"I had a goldfish." Bug adds.

"A fucking racehorse?" Mick is, quite clearly, flabbergasted.

In another part of the base, the other mercs have been asked the same question.

"Oh, my family owned a dog when I was young," Ludwig hums, "Named after great something grandfather Leopold. My father shot him in the backyard when he got into a fight with another dog in the town." Mikhail looks very disturbed.

"I had baby robin I found as child?"

Tavish shrugs, "Eh, me first cat got herself blown up by accident. I was devastated, & it taught me a lesson tae always close the garage or workshop door when working."

"First??"

"Aye. I had five, including that one. The other four were actually the first one's kittens, & they all died of old age." Mikhail, poor Mikhail, stares at both Tavish & Ludwig, completely confused, & unsure as to how he should react.

"Blown up?? Shot?? Huh????"

"Ooh, Misha! Should we get the Kinder a pet when they're a bit older? Maybe something nice like a bunny rabbit? Or maybe something that can protect them like a dog?" Mikhail flops back against the pillows & groans.

I’m sorry you’re feeling so down about finding a community to write with. :( I’ve had some really similar struggles the past few years after moving to a new place—it’s SO HARD to know where to start (and unfortunately I’m still trying to figure it out, so this is more an ask to express sympathy than offer solutions).

If it’s not too weird to ask/you don’t mind talking about it, what kind of stuff do you gravitate toward for writing?

uhhhh what DO I write. Well. In the spirit of Anne Boyer's Not Writing, currently:

I'm not writing a short story set in historical rural ireland which uses the tradition of lifting stones to explore themes about disability, masculinity, and (of course) transgenderism.

I'm not writing a two-person, one-room play called The Immortal Irishman which is about cowardice and trauma and the experience of living through Interesting Times.

I'm not writing a YA novel about a deeply closeted 17 year old figuring out she's queer during Ireland's 2015 marriage equality referendum. I particularly wish i was writing this one because I interviewed quite a few people who were queer teens not of voting age during the referendum & the experience fucking sucked. Plus, we're only a little over a year off All That being 10 years ago & wouldn't it be great to publish a book in time for that comemoration?

I'm not writing a post-post-apocalyptic coming of age/YA novel with the working title Whalefall about a small community living difficult lives in a harsh landscape, who are contacted by a "more developed" culture who want to "trade freely" with this community, and aren't like the old empires no sir we're sustainable now. Specifically this story follows the trainee doctor of this community, who would super love to have access to better healthcare technology, especially as she has a physical disability herself, but still can't quite trust these newcomers are as benevolent as they seem.

I'm not writing a short story or possibly novella about a haunted forest, a tween ghost, and a teenager from the city who doesn't really believe in ghosts but is in this situation anyway.

I'm not writing a BBC Being Human Season 3 Softer-and-kinder AU where Hal, Tom, and Annie get a year or two of peace and healing before the vampire prophesy shit kicks off, and Tom joins a parenting group at the nearby community centre.

I'm not writing the rest of my Good Omens/Daredevil crossover WIP, where Adam turns up.

I'm not writing a novel with the working title Slime Chunks which is about reconnecting with ur childhood best friend who has since got youtube famous. & she's now in legal trouble & possibly she did some very shady things, which should be unforgivable, except that you're realising with dawning horror that you would forgive her anything.

I'm not writing the rest of my Gilmore Girls series about Rory & Paris getting together while Rory figures out the whole pregnancy & motherhood thing, & Lane is being poly with her two husbands and many girlfriends in the background.

How would they describe each other if asked? Physically? In personality?

Emmett: Rory stands out even though she doesn't really want to. It's hard to miss someone with that much life in her, at least for me. She doesn't care if people see the damage lichen fever did to her skin, but she never wants to let anyone see when she's hurting or sad or scared. She's smart and determined and a lot kinder than she wants people to know. She's a good person, even if she pretends she's not.

Rory: Emmett is always trying to make himself smaller, less noticeable. He tries to disappear, which isn't easy when he's sort of tall and half his hair is white. But somehow he can manage to do it anyway. He's loyal and stubborn and when he cares about someone there's nothing he won't do for them, no matter what the consequences are for him.

How do they communicate with each other? Are there any recurring phrases or gestures unique to their relationship?

These two have so much nonverbal communication going on, sometimes it sort of looks like they can read each other's minds. They communicate a LOT, both verbally and non-verbally, and they're very much the 'if something is wrong let's talk about it' sort of people. They don't like leaving things unsaid, and while they might not readily admit something they see as a weakness or that they're afraid might drive the other person away, eventually they'll get around to being honest about it. Emmett has a tendency to run his hand over Rory's hair when they're relaxing. It's a part of her he can touch without worrying he'll hurt the damaged skin or accidentally feel her pulse and have to force his gift not to take her heart, and Rory likes the feeling, because people have rarely been just gentle with her because she's there. If her hair was touched in the past it was usually for practical things like brushing, washing, or braiding it.

If a stranger saw them together, how would they describe their relationship?

Either one of them would definitely say 'we're together'. Rory would be more likely to say they're raising Carlo together, Emmett would be the first one to refer to them as a couple/married. Eventually, they'd both just start saying 'that's my wife/husband/we're married'. It's easier (and safer) to tell people that than to explain the whole 'we met because we tried to kill each other and he kind of actually did but then he fixed it and then she raised my son for two years while I was in prison before she broke me out and now both of us are sort of on the run and raising him together and somewhere along the way we also developed feelings for each other and even if those are really really complicated it's still love'.

How would these characters react to being stuck in a small room with each other?

Honestly, that would depend on whether Emmett's gift is placated. If he's got it mostly under control, they're probably just fine and already figuring out how to get out. If it wants him to take a heart and feed it, he would NOT react well at all to being trapped in a small space with Rory. He would be trying to avoid her so he can't accidentally take her heart AGAIN. Rory would keep trying to reassure him so she can get his help with a collective plan to get them out, while still not intentionally making it harder for him by getting too close. She'd prefer to show him she trusts him by touching him but she also knows that would make his gift really hard to control and how hard that would be on him, so she'd keep just enough distance and try to talk him down from the panic spiral he's probably going into.

i rlly wanna hear everyones opinion on Marty, hes definitely not the best character in the entire show but hes a little over-hated in my opinion. I think at the end of the day Marty was just an awkward loner guy who didnt know how to express his feelings properly. In my opinion he was much better than logan, that whole episode when Marty, Logan, and Rory go out for Chinese food and Logans friends are the most pathetic jerks ever. They way they make fun of him were not having enough money or when they give the most sarcastic unnecessarily rude response when Marty asked if Colin missed his family at boarding school. Logan and all of his friends have access to a stupid amount of daddies money, they all want to party all day, not take anything seriously, cause messes, and then throw money at people to clean up the filthy trail of expensive food and illegally bought drinks they left behind. Were Marty's actions absolutely perfect all the time? No, definitely not, he did some borderline jerk things sometimes but he was much better than Logan. He was smarter, kinder and just less pathetic. I do understand that it was annoying when the writers ruined their friendship by making Marty like Rory romantically but if i had to pick, it would be Marty over Logan any day.

40. How does your character treat people in service jobs?

OH yea very important ajdkfkgkh. The trio all individually have their issues, but treating service workers poorly is NOT one of them.The three of them all come from a working class background themselves.. of the main four the only who doesnt is Rory lol.

Josephine is very respectful of service workers, and generally tries to ensure she doesnt make their jobs harder. This includes for those who work at the university and her...tendancy towards somewhat distastrous experiments in the process of learning - she'll deal with the brunt of it, usuallly. In day to day interaction she's very appreciative of the work service workers do, and respects the level of work that it requires. A skill set all on its own you know - now would anyone want to hear about her rev thoughts-

Alex, like all social interactions, is awkward and socially clusmy, but not really any different. He tends to have a lot more patience for people just trying to do their jobs, and quite frankly has a lot more respect for service workers then he does for people otherwise. He really doesnt like other people doing things for him though, and would def feel out of place visiting any households that have a staff doing things:tm:.

With Jamie its a bit awkward because in the social spaces they inhabit theres a level of expectation towards ignoring and disregarding the staff. Often times they will play along in public, though are often quite kinder on their own. Their are times they are pushed to public defending due to their morals, such as in the event that transpired with Viola, when their morals do push bast their own selfishness. In a private basis Jamie's own dynamic with their housestaff is fairly out of the norm, Jamie with their own brand of eccentricity within the house.

As for Aurora. well she's probably got a bit more of a built in prejudice due to her upbringing, but she's generally polite. Unfortunatly she does tend to leave extra bloodstains around for people to clean up...

Coming to your ask box now because I apparently have way too much to say for the little notes thingy and it's a new point:

Can you imagine: the Doctor picks not only Rory up but also Mels up in Vampire of Venice and they are all 4 together in the TARDIS for series 5 and 6? And Mels is great, she flirts with him and makes good-hearted fun of Amy and Rory with him - reacts jealously to any mention of this 'River' he is apparently married to if you can trust Amy - and she's clever and quick and so curious. He's not quite sure about her methods but she gets kinder and gentler the longer she stays with them and well, he does love a bit of a bad girl, doesn't he?

But sometimes it becomes apparent that she is struggling. She will shy away when he touches her or space out and stare at the weapon in her hand as if she can't trust it anymore. And we aren't told what is happening but the Doctor knows things and after Demons Run he draws his conclusions.

And then lkh happens or maybe the setting is different but the tensions are high and things get ugly and maybe they have an argument or he startles Mels or it's just because she regenerates here, too, and doesn't have perfect control after. But suddenly her conditioning kicks in. And it's an accident because by now she has well decided she can never kill him. But suddenly it's done and he's lying on the ground, bleeding out or poisoned or whatever. And she snaps out of it and IMMEDIATELY crawls over to him, hugging him to her chest and not letting anyone touch him.

And he tells her that it's okay and he knows and she's forgiven - always and completely - and please just bring Amy and Rory home safe, okay, sweetie? And the Ponds are thoroughly confused what's going on and why their friend has killed the Doctor all of a sudden but they also see that it would be a very bad idea to pry her away from him right now.

So she gets up herself and she confesses. That she's their daughter and that she was trained to kill the Doctor and that she has been fighting it for months. And then she is horrified and takes a step back so they can say their goodbyes to their friend without having his murderer by their side.

And while she watches them mourning and subtle golden light spill out of his hands, feeble and trying in vain to repair him, she realises something: She can fix this. She's got golden energy as well. Maybe it will be enough to save him and if she has to pour all of herself into it. Because this time she knows herself: He is so worth it.

--- And then she probably leaves them for a while to go studying to cope with everything but obviously she still shows up now and again and her and the Doctor continue to go on dates and stuff. And then the Silence show up and put her in a suit and she realises: going through with it one time did not fulfill the prophecy/get it out of her system. She's the woman who kills the Doctor and she's never going to escape that fate.

So then she does anyway. Because she's Melody Pond and she is stubborn as hell :)

Yess i love this au! I think i remember you had a post about how you'd rewrite series 5 with Mels on the team? This now lives in my head and i don't ask it to pay rent. I love how you give Mels and River more agency that she has in the show - less delusions and weird out-of-nowhere decisions and more of steady character growth and choices that she comes to organically. Also the TARDIS team might use another person, even as a part-time traveller, to cut the weird love triangle tension (you did adress it in that one post, but i can never fet enough fixes for this lmao)

I'm still thinking about the puppet show in The Giggle. It's quite interesting that they're all companions from Moffat's era.

At a surface level, the Toymaker is right. Their stories are tragedies, and the way they all died is due them meeting the Doctor:

"Amy Pond was touched by der Weeping Angel, und she died!"

Clara "was killed by a bird."

Bill "was killed by the Cybermen."

But at the same time, none of them died in that moment:

Amy "died of old age."

Clara "still survives in her last second of life."

Bill's "consciousness survives."

All any of them ever did was step away from the pages of the Doctor's story into a brand new adventure. And if you look at it from their own definitions, they got a happily ever after:

Amy who spent so much of her life with abandonment issues, found someone she trusted enough to take that leaf of faith. To turn her back on an angel, because she could trust Rory to be waiting for her.

Clara got her own TARDIS and flies away for infinite adventures before her next heartbeat

Bill who was always kinder to the universe than it had been to it, gets that kindness reciprocated. And the girl that she fancied, keeps the promise she made, and she doesn't leave Bill behind even when she's dying in a wasteland on a ship stuck by the pull of a black hole. And Bill gets the girl and gets to explore the universe to her heart's content, and be back in time for tea, if she wants.

The only person for whom this is a tragedy is the Doctor: it's the Doctor's heart that breaks each time, and it's the Doctor that's left all alone each time.

So I guess it's only fitting that he gets a chance to stay and not leave someone behind or be left behind himself. The Doctor gets his own infinity between if not one heartbeat and the last, in the moment of what should have been the last heartbeat. That for once, the universe reciprocates the kindness that the Doctor has poured into it and chooses to "do outrageous things, like have tea, or dinner, and a laugh".

rewatching Gilmore girls I just can’t see how Dean is good to Luke and Luke just doesn’t care. It’s been through the seasons, but in season 4 when Dean goes to Luke’s with his friends, too drunk and speaks about Rory… yeah, Luke makes sure he gets to bed, but, like, he SAW Dean’s hurt. But as we know from further episodes Luke tells to Lorelai smth like ‘that kid got married while having feelings for Rory’. That’s exactly what Luke did (about Lorelai)!!! What I wrote here is messy, but I really don’t understand why Luke thought that way about Dean. Yeah, he’s neither his father nor his friend, but still could’ve been a lot kinder to him. Just as a human. After all, Dean was just a confused kid (like, really young)

You know. On the one hand. I love to imagine the father of Rory’s baby being the Wookie from Spring But on the other hand. I have a feeling it’s most likely Logan seeing as she drank a lot of alcohol in Summer. It’d be kinder on the baby. Although sadly. This probably means that Emily will be happy. Ah well. Can’t have everything I suppose.

I should apologize in advance, because my memory of AYITL is very fuzzy

If there’s any show where you can’t have everything anon, it’s Gilmore Girls lol. Everything in that show is so messy and complicated.

There’s a part of me that thinks that having the Wookie be the father of Rory’s baby would make the situation less complicated emotionally, but then again - who knows?  It’s possible that a child growing up never knowing their father can be just as damaging as having a father who is only partially available. But before you sent this ask, I had completely forgotten the time frame around Rory’s one-night stand!  I guess it’s safe to say that the Wookie is not the father - because even if Rory had one of those pregnancies that doesn’t show, I doubt she’d keep it a secret from her mother for so long, and I don’t think she’d ever be reckless enough to drink while pregnant.

Now regarding Emily… with the way her story arc went, I honestly don’t think she’d care if the baby was Logan’s or not.  I think she only previously “loved” Logan because of his status, wealth, and family name, and after losing Richard - those things just didn’t matter as much anymore. If I remember right - she quit the DAR (in glorious fashion), accepted a job that her past self would have looked down on, moved into a much smaller house, and started treating her maid like a person. Those are some drastic changes. She pretty much completely lost interest in/moved on from that chapter in her life, so I think her priorities probably changed enough to where the only thing she’d care about concerning Rory’s baby was whether or not it was well cared-for (and that her definition of “well cared-for” would change drastically as well - with much less emphasis placed on social status and elitism). 

Sometimes I do wonder though - how involved would Emily even want to be? Because with this new phase in her life, she may no longer have this compulsive need to oversee and control every single decision her family makes.  And then on top of that - how will the publication of Rory’s book change things?  This revival really raised more questions than it answered. 😅😣

Multi Doctor drabble with the Doctor jealous of themselves? (not romance)

The Doctor knew that regeneration was a lottery - at least for him, anyway. He'd never been quite as talented at it as Romana, never able to try on bodies like outfits before making a final decision, and so he'd accepted the fact that he would be lumbered with whatever he was lumbered with, and he'd simply have to make the best of it.

Still, it was hard to admit that his previous incarnation - in all his suited, Converse-wearing, ridiculously-fluffy-haired glory - was an awful lot cooler than he was, although there was the small consolation that he had a better, bigger sonic screwdriver. And bow ties were cool, weren't they? Certainly cooler than his previous self's ridiculously-patterned ties and long, swooshing coat. His own jacket was built for practicality, and didn't get wet or heavy or tangle around his legs when he ran. And Amy and Rory and Clara had never complained about it, which was something.

Still, Clara was staring at his previous incarnation with... what? Admiration? She seemed a lot gigglier than usual, and that irked him; why did his previous self have to show up, insist on helping to save Gallifrey, and be quite so nice to Clara? He knew he was being irrationally overprotective of her, and that he'd have objected just as much if his previous incarnation was rude to his companion, but still, it very much stung that this younger, cooler version of himself was here, and being quite so ostentatiously young and cool in Clara's general direction. It seemed an awful lot like showing off, and the Doctor couldn't help but feel slightly bitter about it.

Why was his previous self so charming? So tall? So smartly dressed? Why was his TARDIS so grungy, his sonic so retro, his trainers so... so... trendy? Was that a thing? He could hardly keep up with Earth trends, but he was fairly certain that Converse were considered cool - certainly cooler than his own boots. He felt a stab of irritation, and he wondered what his previous self made of him - was there dread there? Excitement? Apprehension? He wondered how he would feel if he knew what or who was coming next, and the idea intrigued and frightened him in equal measure. There was something terrifying about not knowing, but also something soothing - you had to accept it, whatever you were dealt, and that was fine by him.

From across the Black Archive, Clara laughed, and the Doctor got to his feet and strode in the direction of her voice. If he couldn't be cooler, he could certainly be... well. Funnier? Kinder? He'd have to find out.
