“Artificial Rage” Last Sunday I cut this design and then did a print run of 40-ish, using some oil-based ink that I picked up. I’m showing off the most successful color of a three-colorway session. I’ll have some of these for sale soon. #lowbrow #rubbercut #linocut #artdaily #printmaking #inkisblood #robot #design #carvey #cartoon #comics #comicbooks #originalcharacter #illustration

Ateneo Art Gallery Updates for April - May
EVENTS, TRAINING, AND PUBLIC PROGRAMS:
AAG Volunteer Program – AAG is currently revitalizing its volunteer training program by partnering with iVolunteer, a non-profit volunteer recruitment organization, to pool individuals interested to contribute their time at the museum. Kickstarting last April with a total of 25 volunteers - a mix of students and professionals, the program aims to provide behind-the-scene experience on how a museum operates by training them on the basics of tour guiding and collection management.
Kidlat Revisited – Fans of Kidlat Tahimik are in for a treat as AAG hosts free screenings of his films from May to June at the Ben Chan ArtSuite. Before entering the museum, visitors can view up close Kidlat’s Art Fair Philippines 2018 installation, “WW3: The Protracted Kultur War” at the Unionbank Plaza, Areté.
Lost Frames XIII: Screening + Talk – In celebration of International Museum Day on May 18, AAG invited Lost Frames, a community-based initiative for viewing artists’ moving images in the country, to discuss about contextualization of moving images in their varied forms, the social space they occupy with viewers, and how these untangle a web of transactions and power dynamics in their production and presentation. This talk is for free for all visitors at the Ben Chan ArtSuite.
Frame by Frame: An Introduction to Stop Motion Animation with the Alcazaren Brothers – Led by Juan and Miguel Alcazaren, this two-day workshop introduces the art of stop-motion animation in three modules, all involving hands-on work. This activity was made possible with the support of Jollibee.
Printmaking Workshop – Learn about printmaking techniques with the Association of Pinoy Printmakers from May 25-27. Slots are still available for the following classes - monograph and collograph technique, rubbercut printmaking and drypoint technique. Interested participants may register by visiting the link: http://bit.ly/AAG-APWorkshops

Field Notes:
A Discussion on On Conflicts and Terrains
Mark Sanchez
26 July 2019, Friday, 4pm
MKP Hall
Field Notes is a reading activity with On Conflicts and Terrains as the point of departure for a discussion about the wide and complicated field this project looks into. It will put forward a particular type of lens, a specific mode of reading, that will be used to pull together the work’s aggregate parts in order to be read as a single text. Given this, Field Notesinvites participants to an exchange that is primarily an annotating and captioning activity. It is geared towards coming into an understanding of why this lens — or this framework, so to speak — is an effective tool not just for traversing an uneven terrain, but also for providing a vantage point of where we could collectively put our sights beyond the landscape depicted in the work.
