I think it was under a different name like Ruby or that it was Dave's choice himself to name her Yiffany, not Jade herself. Then again, there was also the theory that Jade may have captchalog a dead Dave, wanting a chance to revive a Dave to be with her if things don't go well after the JadeRoseKanaya affair. Keep in mind that mysterious sylladex card appeared only AFTER James Roach and HICU had taken over HS2 to become Beyond Canon.

All I know is that the cuck drama shit is stupid and whoever was thinking this and possibly be planning on Jaded reviving a dead Dave after all this, be it Andrew Hussie, James Roach, WhatPumpkin, or HICU, I hate them.

It's funny that Yiffy was meant to be the Davejade kid who never was, because not only is there not a lick of Dave, Jade, or Rose in her personality, she is literally the most Karkat (affectionate) out of all of the new kids.

I think upon rereading, I can say that Nona isn't *structured* any different from Gideon or Harrow, which kind of had similarly frustrating stretches in the like 10%-45% through range (though when it starts varies, and I think slowly shifts earlier as less and less is introduced); it really is that the prose itself just *seems slower*. It's all in the POV-that, and to be completely honest, I could have used a few less characters. Maybe compress, I don't know, the three BoE people we really meet into two? At the very least one of the kids in the gang could have been ditched. If you can tell the difference between Honesty, Beautiful Ruby, and Born In The Morning, there's probably money in it for you somewhere.

Welp, that's my take. Great highs, some really good stuff in there-but the prose hurts the pacing bad, and the cast doesn't help much. Still, probably in the top 10 fiction books of this century so far, and I'm not exaggerating. The L***ta parallels go *hard*.
