On Mondays, Wednesday & Friday I'm meant to do a short 5k! That was the original plan and somehow I'm running 5.5miles for 50mins! I need to rein it in πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Half-Marathon Continuous Run Streak # 9 - Started off way too slowly with eta reaching around 3hrs then tried speeding up on uphills and ended up on this timing 8-| !!! But the fastest miles were in the middle stages of the Half Marathon and I just could not accelerate in the last stages of the run 8-| !!! - That wound is still troubling me even with my shoes on and I am just hoping that it gets better very soon now 8-| !!! Ran 3.34 km with #Nike⁠ #Run Club, notes for today: 1) The snowy #mountain trail on the #treadmill is very steep, 2) It's also 30 minutes, not 20, 3) It's hot in the #gym, so take off the running tights (even if it seems easier just to leave them on), 4) Probably not the best bet to run hard on #hills first day back after a super long Saturday run. Week 19 / Day 129 / 5 days to go
Rain, rain go away come on back another day, all my friends all want to play, rain, rain go away.
Here is Marathon Monday’s weather: β€œCloudy with periods of rain. Becoming windy in the afternoon. High 56F. Winds SE at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of rain 90%. Rainfall around a half an inch. Locally heavy rainfall possible.”
So not only is it going to be pouring, but it’s also going to be windy. From what I’ve read the wind would be in our favor as it would be a tail wind not a head wind. At least it won’t be freezing so long as Sunday’s weather doesn’t move to Monday. The weather is also calling for rain on Sunday but the high will only be 40F.
Some folks say the weather can change. Maybe. But I always assume the worse and if it doesn’t rain then great. But if it does rain than at least I’m mentally prepared for it. I’ve trained in so many weather conditions and my last three marathons were hot, cold and raining. Chicago was sunny and hot. DC was 20 degrees with real feel in single digits and winds blowing at 20-25 mph. New York was about 50F but it rain the entire time; it wasn’t down pours but an annoying light rain. At least it won’t be snowing in Boston!

Managed to split my run into two parts today for a total of four miles. Failed on the train schedule when in ran to the city pier today. But nailed it at the end with the ferry schedule and missing a train heading to the station. Managed to play some @pokemongoapp for walk breaks. Summer will soon be over and speed work can resume outdoors. It's been a hard week. Sometimes that happens but after finding an abcess on my groin I have been instructed that until it heals to avoid sweating, friction and irritation to the area...basically everything that running is. . 🍍🍍🍍 . Like most people who run, taking a break is no easy for me. A week feels like eternity. Even though I know I shouldnt and possibly couldnt run with this. I find that I have alot of time I just dont know what to do with! . 🍍🍍🍍🍍 . It's strange and while I dont like it, I know it is needed or I'm just going to make the infection worse.The good thing is that I had some time to think about what sport has given me besides endurance. Check out my newest blog post for the 6 Non Physical Things running has done for me. . 🍍🍍🍍🍍🍍 . ***WARNING MEDICAL STUFF COMING UP**** . The skin is not a smooth surface. Apperently an abcess is a very common thing for runners to get by their sweat glands (armpits and groin). It comes from irritation, sweat glands being blocked by oils dirt and even in grown hairs. 1 in 4 women get them around their...um.. intimate parts. But no one talks about them. To avoid them dont shave close, change clothing right after sweating and try to avoid irritation. . 🍍🍍🍍 . When you do get them and they expand to over a centimeter, see your doctor. They might need to be drained and st the very least you will be put on antibiotics. . 🍍🍍🍍🍍🍍 . Do not try and lance pinch or pop it yourself (I know but admit it. That's your first instinct). It will only push the infection in deeper. So I developed a phobia of running 1km+ distances at high intensity levels cause it used to give me severe headaches after 2 hours of the session 8-| !!! This was happening since 2017 and I was very much curious as to why it happens 8-| !!! I kept writing every single details of my runs and then slowly I learnt when it happens, after which paces, duration and distances 8-| !!! - Now I have finally discovered the sole cause of those headaches after almost 3 years 8-| !!! I went for a run today. I was tracking it with MapMyRun, but the battery on my phone died at about mile 3 of a 6.62 mile run. Luckily, my fitbit also tracks the time. I was therefore able to recreate the route and manually log it. (Time: 1:20:13, pace: 12:07 minutes per mile)
