I get to test a lot of technology and to be honest a lot of isn’t that remarkable. Then ever so often you see something that does something really very clever. These little black trackers on my shins are from @dorsavi_ and they give you lab-grade insights into some of the most important running dynamics. The ones that show how efficient your are and if you’re running in a way that could suggest imbalance or lead to injury. But what they also do is reveal what shoes you run best in. Not just for PB-chasing efficiency but also comfort and injury prevention. I got to try these with different styles of @mizunoeurope shoes, and my normal running shoes, and what they revealed is that I don’t actually run best in the shoes I think I run best in. What does this mean? This technology can reveal the shoes that actually make you run better. This should change how we all but our running shoes. #runningshoes #runningtechnique

I got lucky for once! 🎉 I am part of the #hcrdambassadors group and one of us got an honor to be used as a guinea-pig at the small running technique clinic by former Olympic marathon runner and #HCRD Event Director @maraton42. Maybe, if I can learn to fly I'll save myself from injuries! @Regranned from @gravity.run - @coach.ansku says it best (read below) ・・・ As long as you are concentrating on your landing, you are not concentrating on the most important thing: getting up off from the ground and moving forwards. Because that’s your goal, right? . How you land, is just a result of your movement mechanics. If you are landing in front of your body, it doesn’t really matter how you land. . Focus on pulling your legs off the ground and leading the movement with your hips and let the landing just happen. . The less time you spend on the ground the less likely you are to getting injured, because no one has gotten injured from beeing in the air! For acute running injuries such as ankle sprains or a strained muscle the first 48 hours are very important for recovery and to reduce the risk  of the injury happening again in the future. It is in those first 48 hrs when the inflammatory response occurs and acute injuries respond best to early treatment. ⠀ ⠀ REST⠀ ⠀ Take pressure off the injured area and you use it as little as possible.⠀ ⠀ ICE⠀ ⠀ Ice for about 10 min every 3 hours approx. Wrap ice or frozen vegetables bag in a towel, never put ice straight on the skin.⠀ ⠀ COMPRESSION⠀ ⠀ Strap the joint, immobilise it, if you can, to prevent further damage. It will also make sure you rest the area...you can't use it as you normally would.⠀ ⠀ ELEVATION⠀ ⠀ Elevate so the blood flows away from the area. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ From the RICE, Rest and Ice are crucial.⠀ ⠀ The sooner you RICE your running injury the faster the healing. ⠀ ⠀ #running #runninginjury #runninginjuries #run #parkrun #runner #runningcoaching #runningcoach #personaltrainer #themtechnique #runningtechnique #runningform
