Backstory

Prior to Dana's existence, Coop, Phoebe's current husband, was separated from Phoebe and their three daughters, P.J., Parker, and Peyton. This was a consequence for Coop breaking the rules and neglecting his duties as a Cupid. It seemed unlikely that he would ever be allowed to return to his family. If Phoebe and Coop tried to challenge this punishment, the Court would have to strip Coop and his daughters of their powers, which would cause Coop to age rapidly until his death. Phoebe and Coop had to bid each other farewell.

Seeing this as an opportunity, Cole Turner tried to get close to Phoebe with the hope of reigniting their past love. He was there to comfort Phoebe during this difficult time. In her grief and heartbreak, Phoebe had a moment of weakness and ended up sleeping with Cole. However, she had no intention of pursuing a relationship with him. Later, Phoebe discovered that she was pregnant, but she didn't want Cole to think the child was his. So, she kept the truth of the pregnancy from him and passed it off as Coop's child, which was believable given the timing. She feared that the baby would inherit powers like Cole, which would reveal the truth. The day of Dana's birth was another instance in Halliwell history where both good and evil lost their magic, just like during the births of Wyatt and Parker.

Phoebe was relieved that Dana's powers hadn't manifested yet, but she still worried that it could change at any time. She prayed that Cole would never be around to witness it. Phoebe hoped that Dana would be born without powers, similar to Parker's experience. However, Parker developed her powers at the age of 2. Fortunately, Dana never showed signs of growing into her powers, and it was uncertain whether she would inherit powers from her Halliwell side or her demon side. Phoebe was always concerned about what the future held for her youngest daughter. Dana lived a powerless, normal life throughout her childhood and pre-teenage years, but Phoebe could sense Dana's disappointment. Dana felt left out and distant from her sisters and cousins, thinking she wasn't as special as them.

Phoebe understood the feeling of being the sister without an active power like Prue, Piper, and Paige. To boost her own self-esteem, Phoebe had learned self-defense and considered it her own self-taught active power. She wanted to share this with Dana, so she spent a lot of time teaching her martial arts and self-defense techniques.

When Dana turned 15, she discovered her Slayer abilities. She was attacked by a group of bullies at school while trying to defend an innocent classmate. It was then that she realized she possessed super strength, speed, and agility. At first, Phoebe and her family thought Dana was finally developing her powers. However, a few months later, they were approached by Willow Rosenberg and Rupert Giles, who explained that Dana was actually a Potential Slayer.

The Slayer within her had awakened, and it was time for Dana to join the other Slayers and undergo training to prepare for battles against impending apocalyptic threats. Phoebe initially resisted this, but her daughter convinced her. Giles reassured Phoebe that Dana wouldn't be gone forever and that her family could visit her while she trained at an on-campus school abroad. After completing her training and passing the necessary tests, Dana would be able to return home. Dana was excited to join the other Slayers and pursue her own destiny, making her mother proud. Phoebe could feel how much this opportunity meant to her.

Dana traveled to the Slayer Command Center in New York, where she met Buffy Summers, the Head Slayer, as well as the rest of the team. She was introduced to the other Slayers and embarked on rigorous training. During this time, Dana faced numerous challenges that tested her emotional control, patience, and decision-making abilities. Within her first year of training, she discovered two active powers: telekinesis and apportation.

Dana's unique powers caught the attention of the Slayer Organization's leadership. She became the first Slayer Hybrid they had encountered, receiving special attention and becoming part of their inner circle. Over the next three years, Dana excelled in her training and continued her education while visiting various Slayer Command Center locations. More powers emerged during this time, including astral projection, high resistance, sensing, and shimmering. However, the ability to conjure fireballs caused concern for Dana and her mother. It was then that Dana learned the truth about her biological father. Shortly after, Cole also discovered that he was Dana's father.

The revelation of her mother's lies strained their relationship. Dana formed a connection with her father, much to Phoebe's fear. She worried that Cole would have a negative influence on Dana.

That Mel B "bombshell" about Geri Halliwell is such a PR stunt to promote their upcoming reunion tour.

I'm not denying the validity of Mel B's claim, I'm just pointing out that the reporting is a complete stunt.

She talked about it intentionally so that it would become this headline and article. The reports that there are fears it would jeopardize the upcoming tour are false. They're intentionally creating this news headline to generate more hype around the tour. The headline instantly pulls in people who remember the Spice Girls and are curious about the gossip. It then spoon feeds them information that the Spice Girls are doing a reunion tour two weeks from the publication of the article.

This stuff doesn't just "slip out" in an interview with Piers Morgan only to first be printed in Rupert Murdoch's UK regional tabloids (before it inevitably proliferates elsewhere).

I hope it sparks a conversation about sexuality and homophobia in the media. Because they really did play it all off as "girls sometimes fuck their best friends #nohomo" which is unhelpful.

Some thoughts on Charmed reboot

Reboots aren't supposed to completely match the originals, and it's okay that the Charmed reboot is so different.

I like that it has it's own flavour and especially love that spells are said in latin. It feels more serious and eery. That being said, it seems like this series is Charmed with a pinch of the Secret Circle, Supernatural, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, etc

Right away I notice Mel Vera is honestly so much like Prue Halliwell in the first season. She may have Piper's power but her personality matches Prue's completely. There even is a parallel between Mel Vera and Detective Nico Hamada and Prue Halliwell and Detective Andy Trudeau

Then, Maggie has Pheobe's personality (right down to seeking her new sister out when her sister who is so consumed by grief and anger to even believe in a sister) but she has her own power that none of the sisters in the original episode had (aside from spell gone wrong) which is telepathy. I really love that we have a bit of a mystery when it comes to this because, before Pheobe's premonitions would guide them to certain missions now...we will see.

Macy Vaugh who has been said to be a mix of Prue Halliwell and Paige Matthews. She is exactly that honestly. With a pinch of Velma from Scooby Doo.

Professor Henry Greenwood is the new Leo with being a whitelighter and all. Yet he seems more like a younger Rupert Giles but less trustworthy vibes honestly. Seems like Gideon from Charmed tbh

I don't like that he was the one to tell them about their destiny, I don't like that he was the one to tell them about their heritage. Still, I need to see where this takes us.

Overall, it's worth the watch and then some. And I really can't wait to see more.

Vera Greenwood

Macy’s second born. Harrys only daughter. She comes back in time to try and find out what happened to her older half brother that turned him Evil. He was conceived during Macy’s time as The Source™ and certain Elders always expected him to Turn. So they didn’t hesitate to Turn on him the second he showed signs of Darkness. Vera has Never believed that her brother was innately evil and is certain his Darkness is the result of outside influence. She cast a spell to take her back in time to before this outside influence began and was very surprised that she went back so far. Unsure what to do, she instinctively seeks out her Favorite Aunt Maggie, just in time to save her from a Demon. Vera uses this to befriend Mags and integrate herself into her family.

She’s Bewildered to discover that, less than a year before her birth, her parents are still “Just Friends” and feels obligated to begin Operation Hacy™ and ensure her own existence.
