KazzOk has announced a new full-length album: "If it'd be.”

A very ethereal, yet jangly and dreamy bedroom pop record with introspective touch.

June 2023 - KazzOk is an independent artist who has captured the hearts of music lovers everywhere with his unique and distinctive sound. His music combines the artist’s trademark dreamy aesthetics with a bedroom pop twist, creating an unparalleled listening experience. The lo-fi vibe of the sound is very organic and makes the music easy to relate to with its warmth and edge. KazzOk's signature guitar style features jangly, twangy riffs that are both melodic and hypnotic. The overall vibe of his music is laid-back and dreamy, with a touch of melancholy. The songs on the album offer a very chill take on the genre: it’s just the perfect soundtrack for a lazy afternoon! KazzOk's most recent album, titled "If it'd be," is a testament to his incredible talent and creativity. The album features nine songs that showcase KazzOk's versatility and ability to experiment with different genres and sounds, while retaining his core tone.

Song By Song Breakdown:

The song “Lunch Lines” is actually a perfect introduction to this release. With its guitar sound and low-key singing, it immediately welcomes the audience into what KazzOk is all about as an artist. He is a musician who wants to express himself through these songs, constantly growing as a person in the process of finding himself and discovering the world around him. “Lunch Lines” offers a soothing, darkly beautiful guitar doing some jazzy chords drenched in chorus effects. The artist’s vocals are understated, yet vividly present, perfectly in tune with the mood of the track. The next song, “Too Late,” is based a blend of indie-pop and ethereal soundscapes that is both catchy and soothing.One of the most striking aspects of the song is its use of repetition, particularly in the chorus. This approach makes the structure all the more mesmerizing and hypnotic, showcasing KazzOk’s mastery of the bedroom pop aesthetic!

The fifth track on the album is titled “Already Taken.” It is a hauntingly beautiful song that captures the essence of the sound of this album, and serves as a great introduction to what KazzOk is all about. The song “Schooled” is a bit more on the energetic side. This song has hints of post-punk, and you should definitely be right into it if you like bands like S.C.A.B. or Dead Rituals. While the song has a tighter groove and a punchier beat, it still retains the album’s general aura of dreaminess, which makes this record so special.

Following up, "Gullible" creates vivid images through its many sonic layers, while “Just For A While" features beautifully understated melodies and a bit of a nostalgic flair. It’s a slower, more pensive piece with a truly direct and honest vibe. Last, but definitely not least, the song “Notification” actually serves as a perfect curtain closer for this album. This song could be described as an amazing example of slowcore, at times reminiscent of artists such as Pedro The Lion, but with an even more understated flow.

Ultimately, The tracks on this album have a stunning, lived-in quality that is partly due to their high-quality composition and the spontaneous, yet deliberately hazy vocals. This emotionally-driven album explores personal topics and expresses delicate emotional amalgamations through the jangly post-punk genre, resulting in music that is unabashedly pure, powerful, and made to stand the test of time. The album's sound is heavily influenced by the music of the 80s, and the resulting nostalgic daydream that ensues is both pleasant and highly addictive. The overall mood of the release is characterized by its subtle melancholy, which instils a sense of longing and wistfulness. Overall, the album  manages to retain a lot of warmth, despite it becoming more upbeat at times, making it a satisfying listening experience all around.

This release comes highly recommended to fans of artists such as Mac DeMarco, Boy Pablo, CASTLEBEAT, Francis Moon, DIIV, Beach Fossils, Real Estate, and many more!
