season 8 review

Hi how's your day going? Just wanted to vent and say I'm pissed at what sounds like Ryan being sidelined and casually belittled in the latest cast interview/promo 😑 i.e. apparently zero mention of Eddie's storyline for s7, Tim once again making the tired joke about eddie being "too pretty to kill off" (kind of insulting considering how much Eddie and Chris have brought to the show since s2), seems like the only thing Ryan got to say was something incredibly sweet and complimentary about working with Gavin 🥺😍 and fandom just thinks it's funny "well he IS pretty". If that's all Eddie is to buddie fandom...that just confirms everything I've been complaining about the last couple of years 🙃
Thank you @blutterlie for the ask. I'm doing well and I hope you're doing well too.
I read through the snippets that were posted on 911blr from the panel interview that was done a couple of nights ago with the main cast and the showrunner and... I really don't have words. But to say I was disappointed is an understatement.
I was really hoping things would be different for Eddie and Chris, the characters and RG and GM, the actors this season since it seems like KR got the boot and is no longer sitting in the showrunner's chair. Hopefully she is gone and if so, maybe someone other than Buck (Eddie, Chris, Chimney and Bobby because they were all sidelined in the last two years while the other half of their ships got good storylines) can get a storyline or two but I can't say I'm surprised with the outcome.
Apparently TM cares about the big emergencies which is great and all but it would be better IMO if they stopped trying to recreate scenes from movies (Speed, Poseidon and whatever other movies they've copied) and focus on growth of the main characters. I've mentioned this before in my Constructive Criticisms posts but none of the first responders have been promoted. How long are they going to remain in their same roles? For me, the show has lost something and I'm not sure a cruise disaster that puts Bobby and Athena in danger again for the umpteenth time is going to make people watch... but I digress.
I'm saddened because RG and GM the actors and the characters they play, Eddie and Chris have been sidelined and given minimal screentime for a while but the little amount they do get is always solid gold because both RG and GM are superb actors. They work very well together and I had hope for season 7 that they would finally be given the screentime they deserve especially since they barely got any in seasons 5 and 6 but it looks like another wash, rinse and repeat season with Buck still looking for answers (which I figured would be the case after I completed a post about his attire in the still of him and Chris). I was really hoping it wasn't going to be another season 4 with Eddie and Chris suffering with another recurring character (all they did was replace AF with M) while they wait for Buck to finally "get it" but apparently some people think it's fun and cute for Buck to be in the words of OS, "stuck on a hamster wheel" but I don't and honestly, unless he's headed for a massive breakdown SO he can finally DEAL AND COPE with all his issues, they can keep it.
The comment TM made about RG being pretty was just... 🙄. IMO, it was disrespectful, disgusting, disingenuous and completely discrediting. If it's true and he was initially hired for his looks for whatever reason, shouldn't they be past that by now? It's been six years and RG has proven time and time again that he's a fantastic actor. For those who forgot, EDDIE carried the ENTIRETY OF SEASON 5 on his back while KR was stumbling around as showrunner with most of the "top billed" cast (that's two-thirds of those who are paid the most) out of pocket. AB was working on A LOT of other projects and that's no hate to her but it's true, JLH was on maternity leave, RD and MR left the show and instead of giving more screentime to Eddie, Bobby and Chimney, they forced TK into the spotlight just to show how bad she was for Buck. They could have done that in episode 1 without giving her a back story so they could have dedicated more time to Eddie’s PTSD and therapy. Buck got two whole seasons and he still hasn't figured anything out but they rushed Eddie’s story and wouldn't even let him say he was going back to the 118🤔.
How many times will the audience have to watch these repetitive storylines? Also, how many times will RG, AH, GM, KC, CM and PK be sidelined for the other mains? It's supposed to be an ensemble cast but someone keeps forgetting that and pushing certain characters out front while they push the others to the side. In season 5, Chimney was sent on a road trip to drive across America with a 6-month-old instead of him staying in L.A. so Buck and Albert could help him with Jee-Yun. In season 6, Bobby was given a sponsor (Wendell) no one had ever heard of before and he appeared out of thin air. Hen's medical school storyline went absolutely nowhere and May disappeared after 6x11. And Eddie and Chris were once again sidelined and then pushed into another "Eddie has to date" because "Chris needs a mother" storyline with another bland and ridiculous recurring character because they keep dragging out whatever the "F" they're doing.
Now with the comment about RG being "too pretty to die", it made me wonder if Eddie and Chris being left out of the promos was a mistake after all🤷‍♀️.
I hope RG and GM can find a show that will appreciate their contributions and give them the screentime they deserve and it be based on how great they are as actors because they deserve so much better.
Anyway, this got longer than I expected and I didn't mean for it to but I'm disappointed in how they're treated and I'm tired of watching the same ole same old.

Okay, I'm a silly Billy and I LOVE the Excnaged Fate AU atm so now I GOTTA ask quite a few questions (feel free 2 take yr time answering!!!!)
What's up w the SoG in this AU? Are they a thing? Do they still worship Garmadon because HE destroyed the Devourer? Do they plan to like, use the Oni Masks to bring his Oni side out of him?
Does Garmadon get baby-ified in s8? Does he reunite with Ray in s7?
Do the ninja still go to the First Realm?
How does Garmaon react to Morro?
LET’S GO!! THIS IS A FUN ONE! TY SM RAINE!!!
This is a long one soooo answers under the cut!
1. What’s up with the SoG in this AU? Are they a thing? Do they still worthship Garmadon because HE destroyed the Devourer? Do they plan to like, use the Oni Masks to bring his Oni side out of him?
Ding ding ding! I can answer every part of that question with a yes!
At the beginning of season 8, The SoG attack Garmadon in an attempt to capture him. They fail, terribly. As a result of this the ninja team and Garmadon are extra alert of the SoG.
I imagine the team probably tries to protect Garmadon through the season, since they've figured he’s targeted. This is despite the fact that he’s like, one of the most powerful people in Ninjago atm. I just find it a wholesome way for the team to show off that they care about him, plus it potentially makes for some hilarity considering they’re trying to protect the son of the creator of Ninjago, someone with heritage from both creation and destruction, a man who was a warlord in the past and has actually killed a god before.
With all that said the SoG…
Tumblr media
Do eventually get him.
2. Does Garmadon get baby-ified in s8? Does he reunite with Ray in s7?
Garmadon actually does not get baby-ified, so I’m glad you asked! I don’t imagine Garmadon treading many of Wu’s steps in s7 because, while Garmadon fills Wu’s role as master to the ninjas, they’re not the same characters. One of the things that is changed because of that, is that no master is lost in time in s7.
With that, yeah, Garmadon reunites with Ray and Maya in s7!
Also, baby Wu is in s8. Yeah, that’s how we bring him back. I couldn’t keep him dead forever, I’m too much of a softy for that. I may be a Garmadon fan first, but I'm a Spinjitzu Brothers fan second.
3. Do the ninja still go to the First Realm?
Yeah! And they got one extra!
Tumblr media
Lloyd is in shambles.
4. How does Garmadon react to Morro?
Terribly, as one may expect. Season 5 is really not Garmadon's season when it comes to having a nice time.
Garmadon is powerless to save his son. He can't fight Morro, because then he'd be harming his son; but every second he does nothing, Lloyd is suffering. It's a perfect concoction of torture for him. One I intend to exploit thoroughly.

2023 fic review
thank you for tagging me @onlyalittlebookworm! <3 <3 <3
What is your ao3 account?
loveleee
2. How many words did you write total in 2023?
32,717
3. How many fics did you publish in 2023? How many multichapters vs. oneshots?
3 oneshots, 1 new WIP, and updated 1 WIP. this was definitely one of my least "productive" years for fic-writing in quite a while (although i don't think i published much in 2022 either, looking back). for obvious reasons: i was traveling for more than half the year; and also Riverdale canon was so fucking awful to our ship specifically that i think it just killed off everyone's desire to read and write about them. thanks RAS! <3
4. What was your longest fic? Your shortest fic?
longest: i feel like i win when i lose, my bughead four weddings & a funeral-inspired fic. 16,379 words (and i need to finish the last chapter ahhhhhhhhhhhhh)
shortest: honeymoon phase, my (very first!!) jimmy/kim fic. 1,927 words.
5. What was your most popular fic? Your least popular?
even though it kind of feels like cheating, head underwater was most popular, because even though i started it years ago, i updated it in 2023!
for least popular, if we're going by kudos, it was three conversations about one thing, which was my desperate attempt to make some sense out of the penultimate episode of riverdale s7 lol
6. What fic didn't perform as well as you thought it would?
honestly, i try to keep my expectations low for everything i publish, to avoid disappointment. i guess the answer would be that last one, "three conversations." but like, the show's ending sucked? i'm not surprised people were not dying to run out and read fic about it 😂
7. What fic performed way better than you thought it would?
i really did not know what to expect from posting a Better Call Saul fic. the show ended over a year ago, and i don't really have much of a sense of how big/active the fandom around it is, or was at its peak. that said, i was EXTREMELY happy to discover that there are way more fics for Jimmy/Kim than there were for the last "prestige"-y show ship i wrote for (Peggy/Stan on Mad Men).
so, all that to say, i was really pleasantly surprised to get as much engagement as i did with that little story! and i'm working on another one now and really enjoying writing it. :)
8. What was your favourite fic you wrote in 2023?
i feel like i win when i lose!!!!!!! the first four chapters of that story just FLOWED out of me like they already existed. it was so much fun to write and i think it's a super fun story in general. i reeeeeeally want to finish it.
9. What was your favourite fic someone else wrote in 2023?
Beautiful Broken Things by teaandpinkfrosting: a well-written, well-plotted, sweet, emotional, in-character season 1 Bughead fic in the year of our lord 2023? WHAT DID WE DO TO DESERVE THIS?
Eighty-Six Years by jimmymcgools: a grounded, believable, heartwrenching, yet ultimately hopeful continuation of the most devastating finale i've ever watched in my life? again, WHAT DID WE DO TO DESERVE THIS? [ETA to be extra clear that the finale i'm referencing here is bcs NOT rvd lol]
10. Tag your friends to do this year end fic review as well!
@absnow @burberrycanary @andsmile if you're into it! <3

🎵 FUFFY!!!!!!!
Okay. OKAY. You have to have known that I would never be able to narrow it down to just one song. I am going to have to dump about a dozen songs on you, each corresponding to a different era of Fuffy. If that's a problem - tough, you knew what you were getting into.
To start us off, both Bodybag by Chloe Moriondo and Saccharine by Jazmin Bean capture that early-Fuffy feeling of "I'm not sure if I want to fight you or fuck you and frankly I think it might be the same thing".
I could cry when I hear you speak but that just makes me angry Wanna kiss you on your cheeks but I also wanna punch your teeth I just don't get it, I just don't know Don't know if I hate you or if I wanna date you Put you in a body bag instead of my bed
You make me afraid Come closer, wait no, go away Disgusted at the fact I care Cut you the fuck off like dead hair
Speak Your Mind by Alice Merton is the anthem for That final scene in Revelations. I saw her in London a couple of months ago and she was great, but I need to see her again until she performs this song.
And you know that it's hard for me To look at you and realize you're part of me But nowadays you seem so far away from me So out of reach Won't you speak your mind? There's a silence in the room and it is killing me Won't you speak your mind?
If you wanted something for their wild nights bonding in Bad Girls, then Untouched by The Veronicas is a classic, and 100% captures that vibe: horny, but perpetually unconsummated. Speaking of Bad Girls, the song that plays when they dance in the Bronze - Chinese Burn by Curve - is a very Faith song.
She burns friends like a piece of wood And she's jealous of me because she never could Hold herself up without a spine And she'll look me up when she's doing fine Because the rage it burns like Chinese torture She's just someone's favorite daughter Spoilt and ugly as she willingly slaughters Friends and enemies they're all the same
I know they're TSwift, and putting Taylor Swift songs on a fanmix is a cliche beyond parody at this point, but I have to shout out three songs from Folklore - Hoax, My Tears Ricochet and The 1 - for being unavoidably great Fuffy songs.
For what it's worth, any song that references "the one" instantly rings Fuffy bells in my head, because "the one" is SUCH a loaded term for them (being soulmates who are in direct competition to be The One). As such, I present Uno by Muse, which gets at that post-Enemies feeling thy both have of feeling like the other really messed up by not following them.
You could have been number one And you could have ruled the whole world And we could have had so much fun But you blew it away
For the same period, but more focused on the rage and denial that comes with self-recognition through another, we have Anything Like Me by Poppy, which is definitely up there as one of the most Fuffy songs around.
I'm everything she never was Now everyone's out for my blood Stop, you're making a scene You're coming at me with blood in your teeth You shouldn't be anything like me You shouldn't be anything like me You'll never be anything like me You shouldn't be anything like me I feel her heart beating in me Get her out of me Love is never-ending in me Take it out of me
While we're doing cliches, I obviously have to mention that Kiss With A Fist and Girlfriend In A Coma both exist. They're like the complimentary breadsticks of Fuffy mixes - they're not what you're there for, but their exclusion would be a choice. Knife Going In by Tegan and Sara is also another surprisingly appropriate set of lyrics given how on-the-nose the title is.
I feel the knife going in I'm feeling like she's not enough to kill me I thought it up and fast But I'm feeling it now And I feel like she's sleeping inches from me I let it pass
Before we finish, I wanna take us to S7, which is just a goldmine - so many songs about that specific feeling of "we were once friends and now we're so far apart". I'll shout out Bad Blood by Bastille, I Want You by Mitski, and Maria by AliceBand, but most of all a slight wildcard - Forget About What I Said by The Killers.
We used to tear it down But now we just exist. The things that I did wrong, I bet you got a list. Now I know how you remember And those moments that you choose Will define me as a traitor Stealing everything you lose.
If S4!Fuffy is more your thing, then we have When I Needed You by Carly Rae Jepsen and Crash and Burn by Maggie Lindemann to both capture Faith's jealousy and anger after waking up.
You picked him over me And you left with no apology Felt a knife in your back Yeah, you thought I was the killer You're looking in the mirror
Or for the Who Are You body-swapping soul-muddying you-and-I-have-begun-to-blur of it all: Bloodstream by Stateless.
Words can be like knives They can cut you open And the silence surrounds you And haunts you I think I might've inhaled you I can feel you behind my eyes You've gotten into my bloodstream I can feel you floating in me
(Yeah, knives is another trigger word for the Fuffy bells)
To finish off, I'd like to bring us back to S3, and Graduation Day Part II. For me, this is the absolute peak of love and tragedy that makes their story what it is. Strawberry Gashes by Jack Off Jill is a great Buffy-POV song that expresses her feelings of wishing she have reached out and done something different to save Faith, while also understanding that it was Faith's choices that led them to this.
Scold me, failed her If only I'd held on tighter To her pale white skin That twisted and withered away from me, way from me Watch me lose her It's almost like losing myself Give her my soul And let them take somebody else, get away from me Watch me fault her "You're living like a disaster" She said, "kill me faster" With strawberry gashes all over, all over me
But if there's one song that works for both of them at this moment, it's Switchblade by LP. If I had a gun to my head and was forced to pick one song to sum up Fuffy, it would be Switchblade by LP. Both the mood and lyrics manage to capture the soul of it - the wistfulness and melancholy, the lost love and lost innocence, the doom and destiny, the pain that comes intertwined with affection. The homosexual yearning. Seriously, go listen to Switchblade by LP.
We were electric We were wild, we were free And I thought that you meant it It's hard to accept it That it's not meant to be But I'll never regret it I don't, I don't No, I don't, I don't Long live the beautiful hearts Who find love and tear it apart Long live the beautiful hearts Who find love and tear it apart All of the hurt you've been hiding away Cuts me at once like a switchblade So take every stab you can take And I'll give it to ya, give it to ya I always knew that you'd cut me someday I fell in love with a switchblade And I know that you did the same And I'll give it to ya, give it to ya

She enjoyed that way too much.
OH NO CLARA DIED. I knew that was going to happen, I have seen it all on the tumbls. but how did she die? I genuinely couldn't remember (all I had was the toymaker going "killed by a... bird?") and yeah that's what I was thinking too. a bird? really? alright then
sexism rank objectification (female character is ogled/harassed/turned into a sex joke by the doctor and/or a lead we’re supposed to root for and/or the camera): 10/10
sexism rank plot-point (lead female character is only there to serve plot, not to have her emotional interiority explored, or given agency to her emotional interiority): 6/10
interesting complex or pointlessly complex (does the complexity serve the narrative or does it just serve to be confusing as a stand-in for smart, this includes visually): 5/10
furthers character and/or lore and/or plot development (broader question that ties into the previous ones, at least two of these, ideally three should be fulfilled): 9/10
companion matters (the companion doesn’t always have to be there, but if the companion is there, can they function without the doctor– and overall per season how often is the companion the focus or POV of the story): 6/10
the doctor is more than just “godlike” (examines the doctor’s flaws and limitations, doesn’t solve a plot by having it revolve entirely around the doctor’s existence): 9/10
doesn’t look down on previous doctor who (by erasing or mocking its importance, by redoing and “bettering” previous beloved plotpoints or characters, etc.): 8/10
isn’t trying to insert hamfisted sexiness (m*ffat famously talked a lot about how dw should be sexier multiple times, he sucks at writing it): 8/10
internal world has consistency (characters have backgrounds, feel rooted in a place with other people, generally feel like they have Lives): 6/10
Politics (how conservative is the story): 6/10
FULL RATING: 73/100 (if I can count….)
alright so we're on Big Episodes Time. technically Face The Raven is the first of three episodes but it very much stands alone in Vibe, so let us look at it
OBJECTIFICATION: seriously, we're pretty good on this by now. almost like one doesn't have to make a million jokes about women's appearances or sexually harass them to write a story
PLOT-POINT: okay first contentious rating, because the whole thing about Clara in this episode is that she figures out she is Gonna Die, which is all about her emotions isn't it?
I mean... a bit. but I think it highlights two things 1. "Maybe this is what I wanted. Maybe this is it. Maybe this is why I kept running. Maybe this is why I kept taking all those stupid risks. Kept pushing it" <- this is Clara being like "ah fuck I'm gonna die, but who knows maybe that's what my whole story and self was about" and I'm scratching my head a bit, going... was it? is that... the core of Clara? do the writers know the core of Clara? Or is this just her comforting the Doctor which is my second point 2. sooo much of this death is about Clara comforting the Doctor and telling the Doctor to not get revenge and to be okay with her dying. my love, you are about to die, why are we not getting more on you?
if this story had, say, echoed way back to early days Clara (s7) who was coming to terms with the fact that she was going to die over and over again, but then is rescued from that fate in one reality (I mean, it didn't quite nail that premise, but there's cool ideas within it), and this reality of Clara being afraid of death, but wanting to engage with the fun of life instead, to the point that maybe she forgot death was even an option... there's certainly some things you can use to read this into her, but it's not textual, it's not -- I would even say -- deliberate
Clara just kinda bounced about in the story a lot of the time, as if the writers had forgotten to do a simple character bible or something to that effect with her, so that in this moment when she dies... I'm not sure how it echoes back to how she lived. "Be brave" can mean anything, it's not a Clara-based mantra that relates to anything about her before. it doesn't relate to the idea that she's died before in a bunch of different lifetimes, or that her partner died to save her -- even though she mentions that death, but it's in the context of how she should also be brave and face it, and I'm like. no! aside from how I feel like Danny Pink's narrative was written, he at the very least canonically died so that Clara would not, it seems kind of not how that was framed to go "ah well, he could do it, so can I," he would be Upset at this idea surely???
we reach the seeming end of her life and I understand how it affects the Doctor -- hell how it affects Me and Rigsy -- more than how it affects her
I didn't rate this point lower, because I do think there's some emotional throughline in the episode itself, the problem is that it feels like it didn't relate to the entire rest of her run
COMPLEXITY: there's a Plot. who did the Plot? we don't know yet. we will find out! that's fine, this is the season finale one of three, we don't need to know everything yet
Me was hired to do the plot, and she did so in... kind of a complicated roundabout way. I kind of wish she'd targeted Clara to begin with, because why would she think Rigsy could get in contact with the Doctor? I really like Rigsy, I'm happy to see him again, and he's clearly doing well, but it's a bit ooh and then this plottwist happens, except I wasn't quite following why it needed to be twisted like that in the first place + I mean the fuckn. bit at the end when Me realises what's happened with Clara feels like it's doing so much heavy lifting "I didn't know she'd do something so stupid" really? I didn't realise it was stupid, because it's just inventing stuff as it goes along
I like a lot of the stuff around the plot, but that's another point!
CHARACTERS/LORE/PLOT: I mean yeah, Clara dies and the Doctor is transported... sooomewhere. (actually when I was watching Heaven Sent I hadn't realised it was this transporter that sent him into the Confession Dial, it took me until now)
Me is running a safe haven -- again, a compelling idea that isn't really explored a lot -- and is working for sooomeone to fuck with the Doctor. villain
so yeah, big stuff. Confession Dial now out of the Doctor's hands
COMPANIONS MATTER: second contentious rating perhaps, but Clara makes one big decision in this episode, and it's a huuuge mistake and gets her killed -- the fact that everything around that mistake was kind of silly aside, it's kind of a symptom of one of the main things that frustrated me for a lot of Clara's run (and Amy's for that matter) which was that M*ffat couldn't seem to figure out how to make them make decisions without the Doctor holding their hand, and the second she does in this episode, she literally dies
“GODLIKE” DOCTOR: the Doctor goes on a bit of a murder mystery romp in this one, and that's quite fun. again, I think Clara's death was more about him and how he might react to it, than about her, but on the whole there's nothing else egregious in this
also we get the return of the flashcards, I do enjoy the flashcards!
PREVIOUS DOCTOR WHO: Mmm there's not much in this one. obviously the Time Lords are about to arrive bit by bit, but on the whole -- apart from showing some various aliens...
“SEXINESS”: Clara mentions Jane Austen as "a great kisser" in this episode, and it's... the second? third hint? that she's not quite straight. I know it's baaaasically canon at this point, but I think generally Clara being bi was handled pretty terribly, in that it wasn't
INTERNAL WORLD: there's that secret world of aliens, which mimics a bit the Zygons outside. I kind of think this deserves more than what it gets, but it's not really about it, it's just a bit of set dressing
still, some cool concepts within it. I do wonder if I sometimes am unfair about when I think something is well-developed or not -- after all, Rings of Akhaten was also an alien culture briefly shown but not too dwelled on. I think that episode really did show bits of how that space worked, and crucially the religious festival aspect of it, whereas with this you get a sense of a kind of fucked up underlying politics, but it's not important to what's happening -- heck, we discover that Me pretended to kill someone and framed someone for that fake murder, so that she could lure the Doctor there, and it's confirmed that the law is so strict that just "assuming" someone committed that murder is enough to condemn them to death without trial or chance for defence
but we don't really understand how this affects the people in this supposedly safe haven, we don't really care about any of them, and Me's "plot" is never discovered or important to the running of this place (and the next time we meet Me is in the final episode at the very very end of the Universe so whatever this place was, it's gone now, it's just some random time she spent doing this thing)
I kind of wish there was an episode that was actually about this place
POLITICS: so we've got the refugee/secret society of aliens on earth, which is... somewhat thinly depicted. and the structure of this society is veeery not-good/vicious. but I guess it's mainly just that none of this really matters to the story of the episode
I like that we showed Rigsy again and that he has a kid and seems to be doing well for himself, I think having him specifically as a recurring character was a good choice
FULL RATING: 73/100 (if I can count….)
this is the highest-rated episode of the season actually, and I do enjoy a fair bit of it. some of this rating though comes from it being a Very Big Episode that sets up various things. I realise in structure it's got a bit in common with Utopia leading into that season's two-part finale (although of course, very different finales). straggler society that's holding on, Doctor arrives and is hoping to fix things only to get hit by a curveball in the last few minutes
I think that this is where the stuff that I do like about s9 comes up against the stuff that I knew wasn't going to land for me -- things like how Me is written into the lore feeling kind of clumsy to me, Clara not being as developed as I'd want her to be, and this season having a certain "and now suddenly something really important happens that came outta nowhere" style of writing
but it's a sweet little episode on its own, with some cool worldbuilding, and Rigsy is there!
also the post-credits Rigsy graffiti'ing the Tardis was beautiful. now we head into the. Final Episodes!
*
I'm not gonna lie -- this is not fair to the episode but oohhhh seeing Letitia Wright was transphobia jumpscare! she wasn't super transphobic and anti-vaxx back then either, it's just. yeah, jumpscare, as my friend and I call it whenever we don't expect sudden casual transphobia reminders

House Episode Master List
Here is my recommended house episodes my credentials are that I have watched house 3 times and the episodes that I remember are worth it and the ones I don't after 3 times must be bad. If you are really bored you can watch them all; you can play spot the celebrity. I was going to describe them all but that's pretty spoiler-y so I will not......
Season 1
S1.E1 - Pilot Classic. You can see how baby Wilson is in the beginning.
I actually don't remember season 1 too much. You can just watch the whole season to get a sense of the house cast. I don't care much for the Volger subplot; he's just House's villian.
If you want to speed run it: S1.E5 / S1.E8 / S1.E10
S1.E21 - Three Stories Fun episode
Season 2
S2.E1 - Acceptance Gotta watch the first episode of every season I guess
S2.E5 - Daddy's Boy I admit I don't remember this episode but some House backstory for you.
S2.E6 - Spin Making you watch an episode for a crumb of Hilson
S2. E7 - Hunting Gaydar
(I skipped a lot of episodes; House has a arc with his ex and I don't care. There may be some Hilson sprinkled in)
S2.E14 - Sex Kills Hilson at the end
S2.E15 - Clueless Hilson
S2.E16 - Safe Oh good more Hilson
S2.E17 - All In Fun episode where they play poker
S2.E18 - Sleeping Dogs Lie Ok this episodes kinda funny at the end
S2.E19 - House vs. God Cute Hilson moment also some Wilson lore
If you want to find out why I hate Foreman feel free to watch S2.E20 & S2.E21
S2.E22 - Forever Sure. This episode could be hilson if you squint.
Season 3

Congrats for managing to finish The Flash! You're braver than any U.S marine, tbh. I left it when I could, lmao. It's been. . . wild seeing how it played out. Okay, here's a fun question: top 10 missed opportunities they failed to take. And which of those you wish to explore in fic? I'm sorry if this is a lot but yeah.
P.S: Eddie is genuinely back and alive??? No B.S?? I am shookth.
Thank you. I get most of my courage from my dog, who lets me rant to her about poor plotting when I watch Flash episodes as long as I give her scritches and encourage her vendetta with the squirrels. :D
Hmmm, Top Ten Missed Opportunities...
In no particular order
1.) Not bringing Harry back in S5. He still had a lot more story to tell and exploring how he learns to live with his new disabilities would have been better than what we got with Sherloque. I mean, the new Wells always winds up growing on me because Tom always had a lot of fun bringing the Wells variants to life, but Harry leaving the Team was very abrupt and his story wasn't done. And now it'll always be this big question mark hanging over the character.
This is definitely something I'd be interested in exploring in fic. I've done so already to very small degrees, but it's definitely something I want to take a deeper look at eventually.
2.) Leonard Snart leading the Rogues. There was the build up and no payoff, thanks to the Legends stealing Len and then killing him off. Leonard Snart and his Rogues are a big deal in the comics, so not having that group come together as a legitimate threat to Barry in the show is always going to be a big disappointment. It meant no more Lisa Snart too, which was really unfortunate.
Guess I'm just gonna have to keep writing my 'Rogues as a dysfunctional found family' fics and imagining what could have been.
3.) Failing to give Cisco a proper send off. After promising an interesting plot for Cisco before S7 began, the build up for him leaving was basically a series of background events in other people's stories. His final episode, though very fun, felt very much like they'd forgotten Carlos was leaving the show until the last minute and had to scramble to send off Cisco.
I've kind of written around the issue, but for me the fix fic is Cisco not leaving at all. So I don't think a proper send off story is in the works for me to write.
4.) Making Frost a lesbian. After failing to keep Hartley in the pilot and having a queer character on the main cast from the start, they should have had an openly queer character on the show at some point. Frost would have been a great choice for this and it would have avoided the relationship with Mark Blaine who was a character that never should have joined the main cast. Allegra being queer would have been lovely too. Or Chester. Just... someone ought to have been out.
Of course they're all queer characters when I write them, so... :D
5.) Never fixing the STAR Labs building. It's a little thing, but restoring the building would have been a great metaphor for the team pulling back together after a time of upheaval. Or perhaps showing the differences in the timeline after Flashpoint.
I did address this point. With squirrels. :D
6.) Taking away Cisco's powers instead of developing them further. Cisco's powers in the comics are truly phenomenal and watching Cisco grow from fearing them to enjoying them on screen was lovely. The abrupt one-eighty on his feelings towards his powers in S5 looks far too much like a bad reaction to breaking up with Cynthia and reeks of the show runners not knowing how to handle writing Vibe. After all that build up for Cisco as Vibe, throwing it down the drain was a massively wasted opportunity.
Giving Cisco back his powers or having him never ditch them at all is definitely something I feature in my fanfics with Cisco that take place in S5 or afterwards.
7.) Not making Hartley more like his comics self. They had every opportunity to grow his character, especially when they reintroduced him post Crisis. And they never did despite clearly being aware the comics character is a much beloved one.
Hartley fix-its are definitely a favorite flavor of my fanfic writing, however. And my fanfic reading. :D
8.) Wally 'graduating' from Kid Flash to Flash. Wally is one of the more popular Flashes in the comics and he deserved to have that acknowledged on the show.
This is something I'll get around to writing fix-its for eventually. I still can't believe the show ended and Wally is still just Kid Flash with the yellow and red suit.
9.) Not having children as metas. We got Frankie, but that's basically it. (Jax was a high school student in 2013, but had graduated by the time he showed up in S2.) The accelerator had to have affected children. Teens sneaking out at night, late night school events like band concerts, younger siblings at football games, etc...
I'm not great at writing kids, but addressing the lack of children as metas is something I want to write. Such as my much younger Joss Jackam that I want to return to at some point. (Also because that version of Mark Mardon is adorable too.)
10.) Only having Flashpoint as a single episode. Flashpoint was a big deal in the comics and would have been a lot more impactful if it had been a longer arc.
Personally, I think the resolution to Flashpoint should have been tied into Nora's death coming full circle for Barry. Though I did think the episode where that night did come full circle was well done. But eventually I will wind up writing my own version of both Flashpoint and how Barry came to tell his S1 self not to stop Eobard from murdering Nora.
And, yup, Eddie's alive again in canon. He's been thoroughly mind screwed by the Negative Speed Force and is still it's Avatar, but destroying the N!SF's crystal and actively choosing not to hate Barry - to set aside his resentment over the life he didn't get to have - seems to have had a profound affect on the interior of the N!SF. Hopefully Eddie's innate good nature will have prove to cause a permanent change to the N!SF itself, making them allies for Team Flash in the future. Though, as Eddie noted, he's not always going to agree with Barry or want to do things Barry's way, so... it's an interesting place to leave him even if I disagree with how he got there.

Rants!
Jane/Amelia: Ok my love for this ship started a million years ago with this video:
youtube
But seriously they are so much fun. Amelia is one of the few people smart enough to keep up with Jane and challenge her, and Jane is one of the few people so consistently principled that Amelia would actually be able to trust her and let her guard down. Amelia is the Captain who can take Jane wherever she wants to go to perform her research, and they get to open doors for each other. Plus let's be real, Jane hooking up with an alien sounds 100% right that girl is not capable of having a vanilla relationship.
Hope Diyoza/Echo: Listen barely anyone even watched the last season of that show, most of us sapphics lost interest post Lexa but it's such a tragedy. My girl Hope is only in that season and so many people dislike her 8( anyway the fandom immediately agreed that Hope was a lesbian and then Echo entered her storyline and fam. How the writers didn't see it is beyond me. It's been almost three years and it's looking like I'm never gonna get over them. "You must think I'm so weak..." - 'No. The opposite." Hhhh and Hope killing for Echo when she wasn't even able to do that for her father figure. Oh god and "How could you let her do this!?" - "Because I want her to." My little babies off to (attempt to) commit genocide :') other highlights include some cowards not wanting to ship Hope with her aunt's brother's ex-girlfriend (there was time fuckery involved, they're close in age when they meet, also who cares?? the CHEMISTRY), Echo Spy Shenanigans TM and the fact that I still want to write that Mamma Mia AU every time I hear an abba song. Lord help me now I want to rewatch s7 for them again
(second submission from the same person)
Hi hello sorry if this is a double submission I don't remember if i submitted them or dreamt it shout out to my adhd. ANYWAY Hope and Echo ruined my life back in 2020 literally thought about them 24/7 from june until October. Picture this: feral girl child of two terrorists who was isolated her whole life, literally nearly alone on a planet for 20yrs and has only truly known exactly 3 people ever and then matured through trauma trauma ptsd trauma and is now determined as All Fuck to go rescue her mother and aunt figure meets ex child soldier master spy redeemed antagonist who only learned what feelings are and how to deal with them a few years ago who is determined to go save her lame ass bf who is bein held in the same place as the other girl's mum and aunt. They join forces and train together and teach each other everything they know and get matching haircuts (this is canon look it up I'm obsessed). The first time Hope kills somebody is to save Echo's life; the first unfamiliar person Echo hugs and comforts is Hope. They invade a planet with their science nerd friend and enable each others genocidal tendencies so bad I love them ♡ after that whole ordeal goes wrong which includes Echo's shitty bf dumping her so she can't keep him from torturing their friend (notably not because of the attempted genocide lol) they are like each other's go to human at all times... until the 100 writers once again show their incapability of writing sapphic stories by forcing Hope to kiss a man who she met literally like a week ago (her and Echo have known each other for 5yrs at that point, there is time fuckery involved) and who would have been a great bestie for her. Boo! Hope is a lesbian! Every queer person who watched s7 agrees! Anyway after she show ends Hope and her boo realise that this is absolutely not what they want and Hope and Echo get to slow burn their way into what they were always meant to be and would have been if the writers had gone with actor chemistry over what they wanted to write from the start. I'm kidding Echo needed time to grieve her shit bf first but like I said. Eventually they got together and they lived happily ever after. Check the Echope tag on tumblr if you wanna see them, a fic rec for their dynamic could be "otherwise sensible women" by penguinofprose ao3. Sorry if I ranted too much thenksies if you read this far mwah :*

Who would you give the hottest milf and dilf award to in the tvd universe?
oh boy did i have fun answering this question...
okay so both these categories have soo many options, i'm gonna root through my options before awarding the hottest. 😅
also, we've got actual milf / dilfs to compare, plus children-less folks who have milf / dilf energy, but that's a separate category.
but if we're looking at genuine parents, i've already got my dilf picked out.
let's go...!
(tw: bit of kink mention smack in the middle; dirty thoughts)
(also this is my opinion and certainly doesn't reflect the entirety of the fandom so no one come for me plz)
milfs
alright.
i had three pop in my head immediately, as soon as i processed the question.
first, katherine. ofc. and she is technically a mom, even though i forgot about nadiya at first.
she's both a badass and super hot (my bisexual awakening at the age of 12, actually), so she definitely qualifies for this category.
second, bonnie. not a mom, although she would make an amazing mom, given the chance. i was just watching 8x9 and she looked so freaking gorgeous, i had to pause to catch my breath (literally, my jaw dropped).
and all respect to kat, but let's not forget 1x5, the car wash episode… she looked fking amazing in that bikini, like, i died.
also, the entirety of s7, she was both sassy and gorgeous. i was so happy she got a chance to shine (finally) & she killed it. long overdue but soooo worth the wait.
she's always gorgeous, always badass, and like i said, would make a wonderful mom.
third, elena, but specifically season 6. idk if it was the single life that brought out her confidence or what, but she was glowing in that season.
i wasn't a fan of her most of the time, but she had huge mommy / milf energy throughout s6. i can't explain it, it's just vibes.
now, since you said tvd universe, i must also add rebekah and hayley to the mix.
rebekah is totally a qualifier for many of the same reasons katherine is, minus the actual kid. i fucking love her, and given the chance, she'd be a great mom, too.
hayley… loved her in the first 1-2 ish seasons.. liked her less when it felt like she was leading on both elijah and werewolf boy / nathan parsons wtf was his name.. JACKSON, that was it.
wasn't a fan of that.
she was a great mom to hope, always defended her daughter, and was very protective towards the people she loved, but she's only a contender for my list.
before i move onto dilfs, i must also add a note about caroline. i just remembered she's a mom, too, but tbh, while i love her to death and she's a great mom, she seems too babygirl-ish to be a milf. this could be bc the whole alaric/caroline thing freaks me out, or maybe it's bc the gemini coven forced pregnancy on her, but i just don't feel milf energy from her.
she was absolutely glowing, and beautiful when she was pregnant, and i adore her to death, but she doesn't fit the vibe.
dilfs
now onto dilfs. i have less contenders.
first… elijah. huge dilf energy, like, insane.
always very protective of his family, of hayley and hope, of his morals and his home… whatever is important, he will defend it.
the suits only add to the dilfishness. that's it. that's the point.
certain scenes, especially throughout the originals are so dilf energy, it sends me to the moon.
the one where they're at the farm or whatever and he's rebuilding fence boards, every scene where he's drinking bourbon, whenever he rolls up his sleeves to deal with someone, or rips out a heart... you know what i mean?
second, you know i have to mention my boy kai…
that scene in 6x22 when he's in that suit… plz for the love of god put a baby in me. 🫣
he's so hot in that scene i can't actually handle it.
also something tells me he's got a breeding kink + he had 7 siblings & certainly knows at least somewhat how to raise kids.
as long as they're no threat, i think he could be a good dad (but i don't think he'd hurt his own kids).
not very dilfy pre-1903, but is very much so afterwards. (like caroline, he's got babygirl energy to me.)
oh! and while we're on the topic of dilf energy, i need to include marcel.
this man is spicy and kills me with his smile alone.
admittedly, there were times he pissed me off, but everyone pissed me off in the originals at some point, even elijah (loml).
i think he would be a great dad. he was so good with helping & being there for davina. he would defend hope despite the shit klaus & elijah put him through. he also kind of "adopted" josh as he did davina.
great leader, too. knew how to keep people in line (even if his system was majorly flawed).
and he's so fucking hot.
dilf energy. that's it.
now, for the actual dilf, i have one contender and one winner.
i really hate to admit it, because he's a terrible, awful person, but he's so fucking hot & obviously has great genes.
joshua parker.
fuck, something about this man does something to me that i can't explain.
i hate his guts.
but he's so hot.
all of his kids are hot, too. like i said, great genes.
definitely on the older side, but that just makes it so much better.
with him it would be like… "my wife died but now idk how to cope & i need to fuck out my sadness," and i would be like, "okay daddy. hey, i heard your eldest killed 4 of your kids, do you wanna make more?"
anyway…
he's on my list with john winchester, called, "fictional men who would be dilfs if they were not child abusers."
Now to crown the winners! ✨👑✨
hottest milf: katherine pierce
hottest dilf: joshua parker
hottest with milf energy: bonnie bennett (s6 elena is a close 2nd)
hottest with dilf energy: elijah mikaelson

Top 5 most cringeworthy casshole scenes?
Top 5 cringe asstiel scenes?
Putting these together cause it's the same ask. Duh XD
Oh Asstiel once an interesting side character that well and truly over stayed his welcome.
Remember this isn't a list of the many awful things this idiot has done but the scenes of his that make me cringe.
1.) Number one has to be that god awful scene from 15x18.
Tumblr media
I'm using this gift because the infamous *love* gift is just to close to his ugly puffy face. Not only is this scene poorly written and horrible acted. (the fact that it looks like Misha is actual trying for once is even sadder.) Even if you see this as a romantic confession (it wasn't) which would make it even worse (it wasn't though remember that) cause it came out the fuck no where. Having Asstiel's whole character just be all about Dean is a slap in the face to actual Asstiel fans.
Though Asstiel's finale ever scene becoming a meme pretty much sums up his character by the end of the show.
2.) The whole Castiel!Lucifer crap. The fact Sam was trapped with Lucifer AGAIN and didn't break. Meanwhile Lucifer only has to say a few words to Asstiel and Lucifer get's the stupid bastard to agree to say yes to him. Wow what a little baby. Yet another time where Asstiel causes more issues and Death amd get's away with it.
Never mind the retcon and bad acting that followed. Just look at the gift below. Trust Misha to ruin one of the last actual good seasons of Supernatural.
Tumblr media
This list is meant to be just about Asstiel but just look at this?!?!?! 🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮
3.) Other world Castiel.....who sounds like a nazi. Even when he is *evil* he is so fucking lame I can't.
I could find a gift and having to look at Castiel/Destiel gifts is too much on my poor eyes. More bad acting from Misha BTW.
4.) Now we all know Asstiel well out stayed his welcome and they had to find reasons for why he wasn't in most episodes (like we gave a fuck.) With the Asstiel mention they did. Trying to make it sound like the fucker actually did anything apart from screw up. So the fews times he was on screen he was the 3rd wheel quite alot. But one of the more obvious scenes of this was in one of my favourite moments of the show. Or at least later seasons. 14x12 prophet and loss. We get an brilliant brother scene with Jared fucking killing it with the acting. It's such a great moment so of course who randomly comes walking into and adding nothing? You guessed it old 3rd wheel asstiel himself.
Tumblr media
Can't find a gift of that moment cause who would actual gifted it?!? So will show the important bit. But yep another example of him adding nothing and just being there. Zzzzzzz
5.) In S7 when he goes nuts after taking on Sam's Hallucinations. Again shows how much stronger Sam is compared to this lame ass angel *warrior*. Sam was able to deal with Halucifer for months while Asstiel goes nuts right off the bat. Anyway cue Asstiel being dumber then normally and talking about bees.
Tumblr media
Awesome. Really glad he came out of that lake. 👍
Thank you both anons this was fun.
Though I had to look at too many Destiel gifts for my liking and Misha's ugly mug.
I will say though when you look at older seasons of Asstiel. You really see how much and badly Misha has aged. 😬

Anyone Else Love Mission Impossible?
And I'm not talking Tom Cruise here, I'm talking the original series 1966 - 1973. This is my go-to, feel good re-watch show.
Tumblr media
I've had the DVDs for years, but I bought myself the blu-ray set with birthday money and so, of course I am watching them all again.
If you watch enough episodes you begin to believe that five people with a plan can save the world. Really kind of a good feeling in the current day and age.
For those unfamiliar, Mission Impossible is an action series where the Impossible Mission team, led by Dan Briggs (Steven Hill) in season 1 and Jim Phelps (Peter Graves) for the other 6 seasons (and the 2 seasons of the 80s sequel), prevent foreign government or the mafia or hitmen or anyone bad, from getting their own way.
Each episode is a stand alone adventure (with maybe 1 double ep per season), so its easy to dip in and out without fear of having missed a vital plot point. Oh weekly episode shows how I miss thee.
If you or any of you IM force are caught or killed, the secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions. This tape will self destruct in five seconds.
The first 5 seasons are the best IMHO, with clever plots. Season 6 & 7 are still fun, but they don't have the same intricacies as the previous ones and are very much US based, where as the other season pretend to be all over the world.
When I used to watch it in re-runs as a kid, I really thought Jim picked a different team for each mission, but in my defence I did only ever get to see an episode every now and then.🤣 And I had totally forgotten there was a different leader for the team in season 1.
No Seasons - 7
No Episodes - 172 (they made nice long seasons then)
Cast:
Steven Hill - Dan Briggs - S1 Barbara Bain - Cinnamon Carter - S1-3 Greg Morris - Barnard "Barney" Collier - S1-7 (and guested in 1980s) Peter Lupus - William "Willy" Armitage - S1-7 Peter Graves - Jim Phelps - S2-7 (and 1980s) Martin Landau - Rollin Hand - S1-3 Leonard Nimoy - Paris - S4-5 Lesley Ann Warren - Dana Lambert - S5 Sam Elliott - Dr. Doug Robert - S5 Lynda Day George - (Lisa) Casey - S6-7 Barbara Anderson - Mimi Davis - S7
This is well worth a watch if you get the chance. It's an uplifting kind of show where the good guys always win with the most outlandish plans.
Anyone else have fond memories of this show?
Forgot to add, my fav episode is s3e13 - The Mind of Stefan Miklos, but there are many others a close second.
Anyone have a fav episode you remember, even if it's just a vague recollection?

why are people even sending you hate? you're always so cool, and fun to interact with and you've always been sweet to everyone too. you never had to show us your ocs, but you graced us with them. storm shooting erix isn't even a bad thing, storm chose life or death, it shows that storm is willing to do what it takes, he's so empathetic. he shot his own brother to save another life, i get it people may not like that he shot another clone but people need to get a grip and leave blue alone. i'm not even a mutual of blue, i've been lucky enough to interact with them! i love the character it gives storm, talk about the trust issues they have, talk about those messy arcs, post that art, we need to know more about your beloved clone boys. post those thoughts, those headcanons, those blurbs, those interactions, those incorrect quotes, i want people to write fics on your ocs, i want angst and fluff if your boys, i want to know how bear reacts to fives and thorns death. screw the hate anons
Anon, you're gonna kill me :((
Well, basically last night I received an anon asking why storm didn't execute order 66, which really wasn't a big deal it was harmless. Until I mentioned that he shot Erix, i wanted to get it out before I slept. I knew after posting it there was gonna be some negative responses. But I didn't think too much of it. Of course, when I woke up I clearly underestimated the fact that people weren't going to like it. My ocs have received hate in the past, so at first I wasn't too bothered by it. But after I deleted the post, I had some more hate anons, I won't give them the time of day by answering them.
I try to be as easy to interact with as possible, but I know that it's always the case. I'm nice to everyone because they deserve it, I don't expect any of it in return. If I'm making someone happy then I'm doing something right.
I had briefly spoken about some of my clones on a-streakofblue so it wasn't too big of a deal, but those posts aren't worth looking at. I wasn't even that comfortable talking about them on there, but I finally said fuck it let's ramble about my ocs. It mainly took seeing my friends and mutuals rambling about their ocs for me to roll with it. I started off with my Bear headcanon post, and I just continued from there. Everyone has been welcoming of my little guys which was great!
"storm has no empathy." Storm is one of my most loving ocs, he's incredibly empathetic. I get it not everyone will agree with his actions or that I'm coming to his defense. He was literally made as a comfort oc for tcw s7 finale, Storm was never supposed to be anything serious. He originally wasn't apart of my clone project to begin with until I made Irais, they were apart of a battalion that I had made until I scrapped it. Irais was forgotten about, and Storm was made into a 501st oc.
It's still up for debate if I'll change it, I might make it so he only stuns Erix I don't know. But I'm not gonna recycle Storm just because of some hate anons.
The post about Erix's trust issues is just sitting in my drafts I may or may not post it. I'm gonna have to think about it before I post about those arcs, because I genuinely don't want a repeat of today. I will eventually get back into oc content only if people still wanna hear about them. People's opinions matter to me a lot.
I'm not sure who you are anon, but I'm glad you like interacting with me. But, I'm really sorry for this.
All in all, I'm still not sure how to react, ironically I've stated my opinions on hate anons multiple times but yet again here we are. I hope this clears things up.

Think he might need a bingo card of his own but Killian Jones for character opinion bingo, and as a bonus, anything on Rumple?
Aight, red for Killian and green for Rumpelstiltskin!
Tumblr media
For Killian, I don't think I even need to explain. Pictures are worth a thousand words.
Tumblr media
(In a way, I do find Rumpelstiltskin's appearance great as well. But I couldn't describe it as "cool" more like... idk, elegant and to the point. Yes, even as a scaly man)
Everyone but me is wrong about Killian, always, ever. No-one understands him the way I do <3
No but seriously, considering how many people were SO wrong when analyzing his character, and how almost criminally out of character he is in AU fics (which I get it's kinda the point to change some stuff, but when you're making a brand new character without any similarities to the original and just name him "Killian Jones"... and that happens a SHIT TON in the fandom... yeah) or even CANON fics... I don't doubt I'm in a greatly small minority for my own views about him. Especially since I was actually surrounded by people whom I agreed with regarding to his writing in s7 (and we were already few in the wider Hook fandom, and also hated by most because how dare we enjoy a version of Hook growing as a character without Emma amirite) and then my opinion and their opinion about the ending differed completely to the point I felt I was alone in the world.
And yes, only my opinion is right. No I will not elaborate.
(For practical reasons, I am joking about the "right" thing. But Killian and Gold reconciling the way they did in the last few episodes was a betrayal to Killian's character and arc and I will fucking die on this hill)
Rumpelstiltskin had wasted potential because again I will die on the hill that he shouldn't have been turned into a "hero" character. They should've let him stay a morally gray character and fucking stick to it. Instead they had him jump from good guy to bad guy because the plot wanted him to be to then good guy again because Belle begged him to. I could kinda understand his relapse in the first part of s4 but it got tiring very quickly after that, and I think even Robert Carlyle got tired of that too. I've got to say that the episode "Lacey", though I have some thoughts about the flashback parts, was one of my favourite episodes of s2 simply because Gold went like "Fuck it" and beat that Keith or what is name was because he'd pissed him off (I mean, I don't condone beating, much less because the guy kissed the woman you love. But it was interesting storytelling). And then Lacey was into it and he kept going and like, this was who Gold just was. His dynamic with Belle was stunted because even if Gold wanted to do good, he was the kind of guy who got too easily corrupted by power and simply kept going after it and Belle kept going like "I can fix him". I'd rather a couple like Gold and Lacey, where they're not the villains of the story, but will help the "good guys" because of their ties to them and will absolutely go to distances the "good guys" won't. But anti-heroes was too much for A&E to handle and the fandom to accept, gotta woobify Rumple Bumple any way we can.
If they were real, either Hook or Gold, yeah I'd be terrified of them. I think we all would, and we understand that as much great characters as they make, they have killed in cold blood without any remorse, so. Blorbos they may be, and they're fun. But real life is different.
As I said, Killian is blorbo. It's been seven years that I've been a certified HookerTM and I still fall asleep making up fanfic with him in center. He'll probably be my biggest blorbo to ever blorbo.
The thing with Killian, as is connected to "didn't get enough screentime" is that he is indeed deeper than he looks, but that was only an issue of limited screentime. Us Hookers had to pick up the scraps the writers gave us and the PRECIOUS bits Colin was kind, talented and devoted enough to give us. In order to understand why he makes remarks about his appearance all the time, you have to notice the moments when he focuses on what he hates about himself; but if you skip that or just miss it, you think he's just self-centered like that. And the writing and limited screentime - by himself at least, not when he was under Emma's shadow - didn't help with that.
I've projected so much of my own shit on Killian. My self doubt, my imposter syndrome, my loneliness, some other issues that I'm not ready to share here... yeah, a lot. He's a good receptor for that, I gotta give him that :D
Done dirty by fans?? Killian and Rumpelstiltskin?? More likely than you think! From both sides too. Hook fans adoring the version of Killian who was uwu and pure and only existed for Emma's story, and hating on Rumpelstiltskin because he did bad things I guess. And for being a misogynist, apparently. And Rumpelstiltskin fans woobifying him and turning him into only a victim who had no choice in the evil things he did (and s5 did not help with the whole Dark One manifestation feeding you bad thoughts thing) and hating Hook for making sex jokes and being provocative I guess. And for being a misogynist, apparently.
So you've got two morally gray characters with excellent dynamic both on their own and ESPECIALLY together (the rivalry between the two was my TOP favourite dynamic on the show, way above Captain Swan and KnightRook... that is, until 7x18) with fans who victimize them and turn them into lovesick caricatures of themselves and the other bad guy is a misogynist!! Because that's the only way for a character to be proven bad!! MISOGYNY I TELL YOU!!
... The ouat fandom was an experience. Years will go by, fandoms will come and go, but it's the ouat fandom wank that will stay with me.
Probably explained above why Killian didn't get enough screentime. Technically, he did. From s3 onward, he appeared in every single episode, had his fair share of centric episodes, but when so little of his screentime is focused on him as a character and most of it being the writers trying to pacify the haters and prove that he's not the monster they're making him out to be, everything falls apart. That was a big problem with ouat, in general. I feel it was mostly in s7 where that was dropped, where the writers simply said fuck it and didn't care to pander to audiences anymore and just wrote what they wanted to write. Grand example, the Ruby x Dorothy ship that came out of nowhere to placate the people who were asking for LGBTQ+ representation. Then in s7, they wrote Curious Archer and it just fit in so naturally into the story and theme because they weren't pressuring themselves. And so, considering they were constantly trying to prove Killian's honor and maturity in regards to his relationship to Emma, so much of his screentime was wasted when it could have been used more appropriately. Like, the crumbs I talked about above? Make them a whole package, and that would prove the point they wanted to make anyway. But A&E were too proud in their own abilities as writers to even consider that, I guess.
Gold was a horrible person and you can fight me on that. He was an interesting character that I loved seeing on my screen... at least until his characterization took the plunge. But he was a clear example of a bullied, humiliated victim who, once he took a position of power immediately began abusing it and holding onto it for dear life. People kept mentioning how he stopped the Ogre Wars but a) that wasn't important enough to his narrative to show on screen and that says something and b) he used it as an excuse to be an asshole and to keep abusing his power, so it doesn't help? Upon losing Baelfire, his one goal became to go find him - but only as long as he kept his power. The seer confirmed he will meet him again, so he waited as long as it took - literal centuries because he wanted to find the way that would ensure he'd have both his son and his power. That power being the very thing he lost his son for, by the way. If that isn't a sign about how weird his priorities were, Idk what else to tell you man.
Yes I am mentally ill about Killian, if my seven plus years of stanning that developed into a love for Colin that I have paid real money to see from up close didn't clue any of you in XD
I circled the "part of a dynamic" one cause as I said, for almost the entire duration of the show, the rivalry between Gold and Hook was my top favourite dynamic. Sadly I didn't get that much, and I got grossly disappointed by the end, but what little I got (minus the ending, yes I am still bitter) I loved and I treasure.
Gold got too much screentime in the manner of the whole ping-pong he did between "hero" and "villain". I mean, it wasn't like they would dare sideline Robert Carlyle, but he got too many and repeated arcs that it got tiring even for me, who enjoyed his presence on my screen. If he had gotten a bit less of it, or a bit more balanced between all characters (same for Emma and Regina, they both suffered from repeated storylines and development arcs), I think they could have handled his gray morality better.
ALMOST got three lines there, lmao. BING!

Agents of SHIELD Rewatch Season 2B (ep. 11-22)
It's been months, but the rewatches are back!
Here's my commentary on my rewatch of Agents of SHIELD Season 2 Episodes 11-22. This may not be the best commentary since these are just the thoughts and opinions that come to my mind as I watch the episodes rather than a full-blown analysis, but I'm just having fun with it!
2x11 Aftershocks
This is also the first set of rewatches on Disney+, and you can't skip the recaps, so I get to watch Trip crumble to pieces TWICE in one episode. Making me cry this weekend, why don't you.
Baby Gordon! Also, this flashback scene takes place in 1983, which means it's probably not that long before Kora dies. It's crazy to look back on this scene after s7, knowing that Kora currently exists in that flashback.
Also, JIAYING!! She's still one of my favorite characters.
I want Jiaying to hug me and comfort me and tell me everything is going to be alright.
"They would be lost" as it cuts to Skye😭
AND THERE'S the second Trip crumbling of the day.
Skye... why are you wearing shoes in bed?
Just gonna say this now, Chloe's performance in this episode is *chef's kiss*
I remember watching this episode for the first time and just being absolutely devastated we didn't have Trip anymore. I'm still devastated.
Dr. List and Von Strucker mention.
So, why was Raina going on a killing spree in the temple?
I JUST WANNA HUG SKYE🥺
Also, I miss big sister Bobbi with the quarantine survival kit.
"I think you're a rockstar"🥺
"Come home, Jemma" I love this family.
Skye's heart monitor is literally going off the rails, signifying that her heart rate is dangerously high, yet no one heard or noticed?
"Smile!"😃
The plan for Bakshi to "escape" is both ridiculous and hilarious.
"ThEy'Ll NeVeR tAkE uS aLiVe!"
Okay, but what would have May's version of the plan been like?
Also Bobbi just casually wheeling her motorcycle out.
Okay, I understand where Jemma is coming from and her fears surrounding it, but I feel like she shouldn't have blown up in front of Skye, who was affected by all of this. Again, I totally understand Jemma's reaction, I just feel like talking about this as an epidemic and something dangerous isn't something to be said in front of someone who is affected.
Ooh, Raina, don't call his daughter a bitch.
Cal's little happy dance😂
It's sad hearing Cal talk about his plan, knowing what we know about Jiaying later.
"I can't live like this" "Then don't" Damn, this got dark quick, and it's just gonna get darker.
Props to Ruth Negga for putting on amazing performances while having to deal with all those thorns.
Hunter is a better spy than the show gave him credit for. Sure, he's made pretty shitty choices, but he's pretty good at the job. He was suspicious of Bobbi and Mack the whole time.
Also, the only part that makes this season hard to watch is the whole 'Real Shield' thing and the way Bobbi and Mack are around the team, which sucks cause I love Mack and Bobbi. They're literally my favorite characters after Daisy and May.
Oh Mack, you do so much more than just 'working on Lola one day'.
Again, talking about putting Raina down in front of Skye? I understand Jemma, but there are just some things you shouldn't talk about in front of someone who was just traumatized due to the same experience as said person you want to put down.
Did anyone else notice that the music Skye is listening to on headphones is the same score used during the Ghost Rider pod in season 4?
300bpm, that's 5 beats per second. For reference, my resting heart rate at this current moment is 90bpm, which is 1.5 beats per second. Skye's heart rate at the time of the collapse was roughly 3.33 times faster than my current heart rate.
"That's inhuman" we love to see it.
Again, can we not tell Skye that something's wrong with her?
I made a post about this a while ago, but besides the fact that her powers may have just been exposed, Skye might have been nervous about the broken glass because of what happened with the crystal decanter she broke at a foster home, which she mentions in like 6 episodes.
Also, I love these soft May moments. The way she goes from comforting Skye to freaking out in a protective manner over the fact that she's bleeding.
The way Trip's mom just knew😭
If you follow me, you know my opinions on Fitz and my disdain for him, and I don't agree with the fact that Fitz kept telling Skye to hide her powers as she could have gotten help sooner, but "You're just different now, and there's nothing wrong with that" will forever be one of my favorite lines from the show.
Raina, baby, no :(
"COME ON, GIRL"😭
Why couldn't we have more family moments like the end of this episode?
2x12 Who You Really Are
Welcome back, Lady Sif! I loved seeing her in Loki, and I really hope we get her back in Thor: Love and Thunder (was it ever confirmed that she was going to be in it? I can't remember).
The May and Skye sparring scene... *chef's kiss*
"I didn't want to hurt you" and then May's gesture that's just like "You think you can?"😂
Also, THAT transition
"Son of Coul"
In canon, how did they get that picture during 1x15?😅
Why did they have to make the Kree's weapon look like a mallet you would beat meat with? lol.
So, now the ICERs are dangerous? I don't remember them saying dangerous for some reason, and now I feel for Skye with the after-effects after she shoots herself later in the episode.
"I can" Love that May is crushing on Thor. And just Coulson's face after she says that haha.
"i BaReLy ToUcHeD iT"
"I learned this as a child, did you not?"
Agents of SPOOF has forever ruined the scene where they find the Kree cause I can no longer watch this scene without the song "Blue" going through my head.
I love the parallel they make in s7 of Kora's gun quaking apart to Skye's in this episode, even if Kora wasn't the one causing the quakes.
I love how Sif was about to explain the concept of a key to Coulson.
Yes, Mack is a pretty boy.
The zoom in on the water glass. The way water glasses have become something of a symbol for Daisy's powers!
The way May just knew the shaking was from Skye and that something was up all along.
Love how May and Coulson don't even think twice about grabbing Skye and standing in front of her.
Why Bambino for the name of the "I know what it does" weapon?😂
Mack just goes from "we'll decide what she is😠" to "Tremors🤩" and I love that.
May grabbed her and ran, and then she took a knee and got on Skye's level, just as a special someone had once told her to do🥺
No one talks about the May and Daisy scene in this episode enough. Just the way May says "Skye" tells you everything about their relationship and how much they care.
It's there for a split second, but the way May just softly touches Skye and moves her hair😩 (I'm obviously touched starved, can't you tell? lol)
Ugh, I always hate that line from Mack given his and Daisy's amazing relationship later. You can see the regret on his face when he sees her though. Ugh, can we just move on from the painful parts, please?
2x13 One of Us
"I'm stopping them before they start" Oh, Skye, baby. If only you knew what you were doing to yourself.
May's thoughts: "Is he really asking me to contact my ex right now?"
And there he is, Dr. Andrew Garner, the husband blueprint.
Also, Andrew is a great therapist, laying down the rules for treating Skye.
Love that Lian May still likes Andrew and invites him over for dinner despite her daughter having been divorced from him for years. I mean, I would too.
This is an Andrew Garner appreciation blog.
Here's one of the one-liners we get of Daisy's past in the foster system. Never will forgive the writers for just forgetting this major part of Daisy and having the characters treat her like she didn't have this trauma as well.
Also love how even Andrew grew a soft spot for Skye/Daisy as time went on.
"I'm not suicidal" UGHHHHH SEASON 2 WHY YOU GOTTA DO ME LIKE THIS. SEASON 4 IS COMING UGHHHHHH. Glad they care for her this season. You will hear from me more on this when we get to s4a cause I have A LOT to say about how they treated Daisy.
Did we ever establish EXACTLY was the photo on Andrew's desk?
Love how we found out that May can't cook and just ran with it in fanfics😅
Fitzsimmons gossiping about May and Andrew is such a mood.
"You need backup" "I need backup"
That kid filming with his iPhone is the only realistic thing in this show.
NOT THE BIRDS
Mack, imma have to disagree with you on that. I actually like pineapple on pizza.
As much as I absolutely love the 'May and Coulson are Daisy's adoptive parents' fics, where are all the 'May and Andrew are Daisy's adoptive parents' fics? Cause the way Skye talked to them, convincing them to let her go, just gave me 'daughter talking to her parents' vibes.
Skye's shaking can be because she's scared and it works, but given that you can see everyone's breath, it was probably, no doubt, freezing cold when they filmed the football field fight.
I totally forgot Bobbi was hiding under the bleachers. That made me laugh😂
THAT👏🏼 MAY👏🏼 POWER👏🏼 WALK👏🏼
Again, I JUST WANT TO HOLD BABY SKYE. She's over here watching the people she cares about the most destroy people who are gifted just like her.
Can we talk about the May and Coulson Worried Parent™ running?
"We're as close to a family as Skye has"🥺
2x14 Love in the Time of Hydra
You know, I really liked this stretch of episodes without Ward. Now, he's back. Gross.
I also just feel really bad for Kara
Look at that, the only time the MCU actually might have looked at Bruce's mental health and how he might actually not want the Hulk. Did we all just forget about how he said he tried to kill himself in The Avengers?
Not Fitz talking about being glad that certain people don't have choices the better themselves.
Watching May and Coulson talk about taking Skye out of the picture so she can better control her powers, knowing that something is up with Bobbi and Mack, is really neat. They were always thinking ahead.
"Off to see the wizard"
There are so many parts of this episode, I honestly have no idea what's going on lol.
The team canonically had karaoke nights.
The whole 'Real Shield' thing is so frustrating. Like, I understand some aspects of what they are saying, even Coulson later agreed, but their execution is just terrible.
Wait, so Jemma knew that there were going to be repercussions of the casts she made for Skye?
Thinking about all the flashbacks Skye was having when Coulson told her to "pack a bag"🥺 You can just see it in the way her face totally drops and the shaky breath she takes.
LOLA BACKSTORY
I will never get over May's voice coming out of Skye's mouth. This whole scene is just weird and creepy😣
I'm just tired of Ward justifying everything he's done wrong on his past when Daisy had gone through a rough upbringing as well, and she came out the most selfless person ever. She didn't become a little murderer.
"You seem so well adjusted" EXCUSE ME. DID YOU JUST SAY THAT ABOUT WARD???
Not gonna lie, Ward and Kara breaking into Talbot's base does make me laugh. It's just so chaotic.
Talbot's soldiers have to go through so much haha😅
"If there is one thing I cannot stand, it is a spy in my house" and the cut to Mack OMG.
Does Mack really think he can outsmart THE Melinda May?
Kara punching Bakshi was very satisfying.
At the time of rewatching this episode, I had rewatched (again) all of season 1 and prior episodes of season 2 (just so it says I watched them on Disney+), but I never noticed in 2x02 how Coulson told Hunter that there were people he trusted that vouched for him and that 'people' was Bobbi.
"I'm just trying to fix her!" UGHHH THIS LINE HURTS EVERY TIME. SIMMONS WHY? I LOVE YOU BUT THE XENOPHOBIA HURTSSS.
Not the edible arrangements😂
Again, feel so sorry for Kara.
2x15 One Door Opens
THE WAY BOBBI BUSTS THROUGH THE DOORS. YES QUEENNN!
I wish we got more Hartley before she died.
"The path we've chosen, makes you forget your lines sometimes" is one of my favorite bloopers.
Gotta hand it to Coulson's quick thinking.
Love how Bobbi knew it was safer to just break through glass than to voluntarily fight May.
Also, May and Bobbi fight... *chef's kiss*
When did Bobbi and/or Mack have the time to put a monitor in a fire extinguisher that's out in the open?
I don't understand the logistics of the casts. Like, I know it suppresses the powers, but like, what makes it so Skye feels woozy? Like, that should have been something to note.
As someone who hates horror movies, the very not-that-scary horror-esc scene/buildup did kinda scare me the first time I watched haha.
If I opened my front door, and some guy like Gordan was standing there, I would have screamed and shut the door right then and there.
Gordan is aware of exactly who Skye is, right? I wonder if he knew her during the few months before Whitehall. I mean, he had known Jiaying since at least 1983, and she wasn't born until 1988.
Also, I wonder if Gordan ever thought about Kora during those moments with Skye, a girl who was scared of herself and didn't have an idea of how to control her abilities.
SMART GIRL JEMMAAAA
They don't want secrets, but they're willing to break into a base, potentially hurting a lot of people? Again, Real Shield frustrates me.
Skye discovering new aspects of her powers will always be my favorite part of the episode.
Fitz and Simmons holding hands and being there for each other after Real Shield invades is sweet.
And people don't understand why Skye wanted to stay at Afterlife more than Shield. May wasn't able to finish, so Skye believed all of Shield was after her. Then, of course, she was chased through the woods and shot at.
May is the dictionary picture of loyalty.
Why is Coulson being sent down that elevator so funny?😅
Damn, I really hate Calderon.
Again, Skye only attacked to protect herself. SHIELD ATTACKED FIRST.
Love how much Bobbi still cares about Skye. The scream of her name was pure terror for her.
And there's the quake shield! Shame we only see her use her powers like that again in the series finale.
So, does Skye just not remember arriving at Afterlife? Did she like pass out as soon as she and Gordon got there?
2x16 Afterlife
Thank you Coulson for icing that guy cause that actor (the car salesman) is a pedophile (I know this cause he was the dad/grandfather on Andi Mack and they had to cut him out of the show)
What was the point of having Skye in two pieces of cloth?
And there's Mr. Battery Pack Lincoln Campbell.
Thank you Bobbi for defending Skye.
How would you have been invited IF COULSON DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT YOU?
So Jemma and Fitz made their plan pretty early on given that Jemma didn't have much of a reaction about Fitz "packing his things"
"I lost her"😭
The little foreshadowing to the following episode with Bahrain!
Hunter waking up like that is a mood.
Hunter is a whole mood this whole episode actually.
So, those shield agents were there with the battering ram for an hour? I'd give up after like five minutes.
After season 3, I know that Daisy and Lincoln weren't ready for the relationship they could have had at the time, but I will admit that they're cute. He's the one who convinced her that her powers could be a good thing. It's nice to see someone caring about her.
You mention Trip, and I will start crying.
MIKE PETERSON!!!!!!!
AND THERE'S JIAYING
Skye knows there's a connection between her and Jiaying.
Is Lincoln aware of the relationship?
That scene hurt knowing that Jiaying lost Daisy, but watching this after s7 and knowing she's also hurting because of Kora, it hurts even more. UGHHHH WHY DOES THIS SHOW MAKE ME FEEL FEELINGS.
Hunter just wants to go to Mexico.
2x17 Melinda
May and Andrew were such a good-looking couple.
THEY WANTED TO HAVE A FAMILY AND HAVE KIDSSS😭😭
"Best Security System in the World" yes she is.
Thinking about how Coulson wanted to bring May onto the Avengers Initiative with him.
Okay, but how cool/emotional/sad would it have been if we got a young Eva Belyakov in season 7 when they went to Afterlife?
The fact that Skye is still trying to justify SHIELD and blame herself when Jiaying is trying to make her see that she had every right to fire back IN DEFENSE. And people wonder why Skye """turned""" on SHIELD.
The Quake theme when she causes the avalanche. Ugh, I will never not get emotional when I hear that theme.
May's smile when she first sees Katya😭 WHY DOES THIS EPISODE HAVE TO HURT!!
I really feel bad for Raina.
The water glasses is making me season 7 emotional. (7x10, why did you have to be so sad???)
Another reason I love this episode aside from the Bahrain backstory is that it actually touches upon Daisy's trauma with foster care and abandonment and actually acknowledges what it has done to her character instead of ignoring it and treating her like shit.
"I tried some of the scotch too."
*26 Skye. You're 26. (Though Chloe I'm pretty sure was only 22 or 23 when filming this episode)
JIAYING KNOWS YOUR BIRTHDAY SKYE!!!
"You were born on July 2nd." And I'm going to go cry now.
Dichen and Chloe's acting and emotion in this scene is just phenomenal!!
"I was too afraid to hope"
Why did the universe allow people to hurt Jiaying and Daisy?
"Shield is not authorized for any action" *one second later* "Go"
"Bio always works" foreshadowing for 4x14!
The whole "Get down on her level or grab her and run like hell" scene is so heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time, and seeing this happen in 2x12, ugh I really love this show.
"Do good Melinda, but come home"
I know I haven't said too much on the Bahrain flashback, but I'm just so invested in it. Seeing the famous backstory of May come to fruition... it's all so amazing and painful all at the same time.
I always have and always will love May, and I understand May being upset that Coulson was keeping secrets from her, like seeing Andrew for counseling about the alien writing, but I feel like she was a little too harsh with him given the secrets she kept from him last season. I know that was for his own protection, but still. Again, I still feel like May has every right to be upset. Just the way she went about it just felt like an uncalled for reverse of last season. Just my opinion.
Were they trying to have some sort of romance thing between Gordan and Raina? I don't know... the whole "I can take you to amazing places" just gave me that vibe.
The connection between Jiaying and Bahrain is so chilling every single time.
AND THE KATYA REVEAL. There are so many moments from the show I want to watch for the first time again, and that is one of them. The realization for the audience and both May on what has to be done. Again, CHILLING.
I'm a more casual Philinda shipper, but I still love their friendship so much. The way Coulson ignored the Bahrainian forces and pushed past them when he heard the gunshot and went in for May. You can just see that friendship so clearly.
THE IMAGE OF MAY JUST CRADLING KATYA😭
"The Calvary went in after all"
"Let the girl go" CRYING
If I'm remembering correctly, Daisy must have been AT LEAST over six months old when she was dropped off at the orphanage. I'm pretty sure she was more. A six month old is very different from a newborn baby. How did they mess up her age by A WHOLE YEAR??
"He is a monster" "He was good once" THE FACT THAT THIS ALSO APPLIES TO JIAYING!! I feel so bad for her. Jiaying deserved better.
AND RAINA IS THE TRUE CLAIRVOYANT *cue the That's So Raina clip from Agents of SPOOF*
Way to go, Hunter. You've made it to Mexico!
I don't think I said this last episode, but I loved the Coulson-Hunter teamup.
2x18 Frenemy of My Enemy
The way Hunter is just avoiding eye contact with Fitz when Ward is mentioned lol.
Sad watching Cal like this, knowing Jiaying wants to send him away.
Again, was Lincoln aware of the relationship between Skye and Jiaying prior to this?
The Bobbi and Mack sparring scene is pretty cool too.
The "Simmons, what did you do" had May giving a hard Mom Face™
"Hey, baby😏" "Hey, sweetie😃"
That little interaction between Kara and Mike is so funny to me for some reason.
The whole Coulson wanting to use TAHITI on Ward still confuses me. Like yeah, Ward won't remember he was bad, but what about him being wanted?? Did Coulson have a plan for that?
I understand Jiaying has reservations against Raina, and rightfully so, cause of what she knows from Cal and Skye, but it still rubs me weird that she is questioning the existence of her gift knowing that anyone can be the first of their kind like Gordon.
From this point forward, the rest of the points are written like a month later cause school sucks, but it’s summer vacation now, so I have time finally!
So have Kara and Ward just been planning revenge on Bobbi for like a while or something?
So have Kara and Ward just been planning revenge on Bobbi for like a while or something?
Yes, Ward. That house is your last.
We love Mike cock-blocking them cause... gross.
“Gordo"
I love Cal. Just want to say that again.
I want more of Cal and Jiaying's love story. But then again, it'll probably make the whole thing even more sad than it already is and make me cry even harder.
Also funny how Skye was going to be brought up in the same state Coulson was born in.
“And I empathize" IF THIS DOESN'T EXPLAIN DAISY'S WHOLE CHARACTER I DON'T KNOW WHAT DOES.
SHUT THE FUCK UP WARD
I sort of kinda like Fitz and Simmons relationship in these later episodes of season 2 and the trust they are willing to put into each other.
JIAYING WANTED TO BE A DOCTOR😭
Cal wanted Skye to go to a charter school. Fun fact: I attended a charter school. Honestly, don't know what makes a chater school a charter school, but to me, my school was if you mixed a private school and public school and it was K-12. We wore uniforms, but there wasn't a tuition and it was opened to the public. You just had to be put onto a waiting list and you got in by lottery. I got in in 5th grade and graduated high school from there in 2019.
This scene reminds me of the Pirates of the Caribbean scene for some reason.
So, no one saw Mike's gun come out and go back in?
Cal complaining about capitalism is a mood.
“I'm kidding... sort of" about the liquor.
Skye's pickpocketing skills!!!!
Skye got the neopolatin ice cream sandwich. Love that for her.
See Lincoln, you could be a spy.
Hunter referring quantum entaglement as torture has the same energy as Scott Lang thinking of quantum entaglement as something sexual.
DAISY JOHNSON DAISY JOHNSON DAISY JOHNSON
And the soft Quake theme when she says her name for the very first time😭
The hula dancer🥺
I find it weird that Cal wanted to show the tools used to put Jiaying together. It might just be me, but I would be creeped out.
EVERYONE COMING TOGETHER!!!
Does Lincoln have any previous fighting experience? Cause he acts fast and knows what to do with his powers.
Also, despite everything, Skye still has faith in SHIELD and knows its Hydra.
It's cliche, but Skye falling on top of Lincoln is kinda cute.
Lincoln's face of recognition when trying to eletrocute Mike😂
“Sure, and I'm the Hulk"
Ward is still obsessed with Skye if he willingly followed Coulson like that.
I'd be a little pissed if I saw someone I trusted with Ward too, not gonna lie.
The way Skye was going to reunite with Coulson before Gordon got her🥺
SHIELD was that slow to get there?
Take me to your leader"
2x19 The Dirty Half Dozen
Excited for this one. One of my favorite episodes from this season.
Jiaying has such a maternal feel to her, which I love, but I always find it funny when she comforts Raina knowing that Ruth Negga is actually older than Dichen Lachman (only by like a month though).
I understand Jiaying's anger towards Cal after he revealed Skye's identity and relation to her when she had wanted that hidden.
Were there always those bright lights in the Cage? Cause it was always dark in there.
“I like seeing my Bus" I just remembered this is the last episode with the Bus, which continues to be my favorite SHIELD base/aircraft.
User-Friendly Cal™
I totally understand Jiaying's fears, but there are also the "never leave a man behind" values that Skye has.
So Mike and Lincoln are in the same cells that Wanda and Pietro were in, right? At least the same facility.
Love Mike's sarcasm.
Having to say "Hail Hydra" after every phone call must be annoying.
“Dazzled"
Coulson translation: "I'm taking my og team cause I love them and they're mine. Except for Ward, he's more of an inconvenience, but I need to use him"
There are windows other than the cockpit of the quinjet?
Don't worry Hunter, I'd be nauseous looking at Ward and Kara together.
Can May beat the shit out of Ward again? Please.
My Team™
I realized I haven't said much about Gonzalez. Is there even much to say?
I don't know if Coulson really had to tell May about seeing Andrew. Yeah, it hits a more personal nerve, I get that, and May can be upset, but I understand Coulson not wanting to discuss his own medical records.
Don't like Gonzalez saying the agents going on the mission are worth the risk, saying that they are more expendable than Bobbi. Bobbi's not expendable either, but I think you get what I'm saying.
THE OGs!
Jemma's first question being "Are you making friends?"🥺
I love the entire team death staring Ward.
“I'm still happy I shot you" ME TOO.
Jemma, Fitz, AND MAY agreeing with Skye is a whole mood.
“Ward, just no more talking to people" Yes, please shut him up.
That little comment about needles was all Kara needed from Bobbi.
Thinking about how they all had to pack their belongings from the Bus aka Skye's first real home.
And goodbye Bus. You were a great part of the show, and I will forever miss you.
“Really starting to wish I hadn't eaten that Hot Pocket earlier" is such a random line and I love it.
Also thinking about all the chaos the cast had while filming this scene. Between Chloe and Clark with the fart machine and Brett doing a little too much when they were "falling", I just love these cast moments.
Also an appreciation for Ponytail May.
Ward's confusion with Skye's powers will always be funny to me though.
“So that's what happened in Puerto Rico."
I also always think about how StaticQuake was a little interesting and weird for Chloe as she has a younger brother who is actually named Lincoln.
Ward's confusion and sass are enjoyable in this episode. A little. Only a little. Like a smidge.
ALSO THE ONE-SHOT FIGHT!!!
Chloe deserves all the recognition for that fight scene, especially since she broke her arm during it.
“Either come with me now or you're next" "Okay, after you" Always listen to Melinda May.
Bobbi and Mack's happiness when the mission is a success is nice though.
MARIA I LOVE YOU
Episodes like this make me wish I had watched the show when it was live.
2x20 Scars
KEONIGS!!!!!!
Call your sister" sticky note, LT FORESHADOWING
Glad to know SHIELD was the "friends" mentioned in Age of Ultron. I guess that's the only time the movies ever mentioned the show.
Thank you Bobbi for defending Coulson
Also, like how Coulson was able to see some of the errors that 'Real SHIELD' was right about.
Skye staying with Lincoln is giving major Sousa staying with Daisy vibes.
I wonder if the man's son Raina talked about eventually did go through the mist. I mean, he must have if Raina saw it. I'm just wondering when.
Oh yeah, this is the episode that introduced the monolith, that damn thing.
Okay, but why did SHIELD decide to keep the monolith from Hydra instead of, you know, destroying it.
People always are harsh towards Skye for siding with the inhumans for a bit there and uses it as an excuse to hate on her, but the way May and Coulson are already taking about the inhumans, asking "are they people" could give Skye the impression of what they may view her as. They kinda throw away her connection to the people and not listen to her when she tries to explain why she trusts them. Honestly, Skye has no reason to trust SHIELD right now as they chased her through the woods not too long ago.
I don't agree with Skye throwing Bahrain at May like that as she knows the trauma May has with it, but people also use it as another excuse to hate on Skye. May was egging her on, telling her the inhumans were dangerous. Yes, they were scared of the monolith. Another example of no one listening to Skye. Again, I don't think Skye should have thrown that at May, but I don't exactly use it against her overall character when May and Coulson were putting all that onto Skye.
Here they go with the Indexing. This is the part I don't agree with Coulson one bit. Indexing those with powers is a violation, and the show itself shows why it's a bad thing during season 4 with the Sokovia Accords.
“I miss my plane" ME TOO
THE HULA GIRL😭
“One of the greatest threats SHIELD has ever faced" You mean the innocent people who want nothing to do with you? and not, you know, THE NAZI ORGANIZATION THAT WAS IN YOUR ORGANIZATION FOR THE LAST 70 YEARS!?!?
I'm always indecisive if Gonzalez going in instead of Coulson was a good idea. Coulson is too close to the situation with Skye, but Gonzalez's views of these people are all wrong.
That "May" and Bobbi leaving scene was way too quick that the signs weren't there and may for an interesting reveal.
And here's Mack's first attempt at quitting. Wait til he finds out he's Director in 2019.
Mack joined SHIELD in 2002 (13 years prior to 2015).
“My people would never blindly follow me into a war" Until you start one...
“It's me who's changed" THIS LINE HURTS SO BAD
“I think we've been spending too much time together"
And the confusion of two Mays begins.
FUCK YOU WARD
How did they even get the coordinates with Afterlife? It was because they were watching Gordon, right?
Fun fact for those who may not know, the actress who played Alisha (the multiplier), Alicia Vela-Bailey, is also the stunt double for Bobbi and her husband (I don't know his name) was the stunt double for Ward, so the fight between them in the finale is essentially a husband and wife fight.
“I was always excited to meet you" AWWWWW
I love May, she's my favorite after Daisy, but her totally disregarding the fact that Gonzalez did in fact send agents to contain and possibly kill Skye rubs me the wrong way. Does that count as gaslighting? Another reason Skye was more inclined to side with the inhuman than SHIELD.
“I hope your mother was everything you wanted her to be" always hits me, especially when Daisy brings it back in 7x10.
The turn with Jiaying almost feels sudden, but the episodes leading up have small clues. Also, she's right. Her scars from Hydra are much deeper and painful than Gonzalez's.
There's a certain type of feeling hearing Jiaying, a victim, quote Whitehall, her absuer. It's creepy, but you know shit is about to go down.
I see so many reactors and podcasters call Skye stupid for siding with the inhumans, but from her side, it looks like SHIELD shot at Jiaying. She had no way of knowing. Given SHIELD's record at this point, I'd probably have the same reaction.
2x21 S.O.S. Part 1
Lincoln's little slide to Jiaying is funny to me. I don't know why.
I'll never understand Jiaying's order for the inhumans to fire on themselves. That is literally getting your people hurt.
And now the blame for "SHIELD" hurting the inhumans is all put on Skye. Someone please just tell this girl that none of this is her fault.
And a SHIELD agent literally shot an inhuman right in front of Skye. People really need to stop saying Skye chose wrong. She has no reason to believe SHIELD.
OOOHH SHE DREW BLOOD FROM MELINDA MAY
Small Ruben Mackenzie mention
May waking up from being unconscious with Cal singing is so funny for no reason. She is just immediately like "WTF??"
Coulson is the only one considering that Skye doesn't have the full story and understands why she's acting the way she is.
And the true purpose of Jiaying's power is revealed, and it is quite terrifying.
To be fair, Skye chose based on how people have been treating her.
“Generosity of others" Not sure that guy was willing to give up his life.
Surprised Jiaying didn't have much of a reaction to hearing her daughter had been shot before. She was literally on the verge of death.
“When I find him, I'm going to kill him" Yes, please do, May.
As someone who hates needles, Ward putting those needles in Bobbi's fingers always makes me feel sick.
“It's her usefulness" Don't really like Skye's value being her use.
“There's always someone else to blame" And there's Ward's entire character arc cause he can never take responsibility for his own morals and actions.
Bye Bye Raina. You were a fun and interesting character.
Also, Jiaying, say bye to your daughter cause you just lost her trust.
This was the one time (I think) that Jiaying called her Daisy by her birth name in front of her.
Why Spain, Ward?
To be fair, Ward, May chose you, not Coulson.
The knee break always gets me😬
I've said it before, but Skye's family story is so sad I feel so sorry for all of them.
And here, we start the great Daisy and Mack friendship/sibling-ship that becomes one of my favorite platonic relationships in the whole show.
How many multiples can Alisha make at once? Cause she makes three right now.
Mack is such a badass I love him.
Monster Cal is hilarious.
This SHIELD team just loves to run their cars into people, don't they?
2x22 S.O.S. Part 2
That damn battering ram.
Poor Cal. He just wanted his family back together.
I'm about to theorize about Jiaying's power. We know she can drain life, but then season 7 comes around, and it is implied that she can give life to heal others. So basically, is Jiaying like a holder for life? Like a container? She can drain life, but she hangs onto it, causing her to not age, until she is needed to heal someone else? Just a thought.
“Just you and me, Tremors" MY HEART!!!!!
“Not the skills I'm looking for" Glad someone remembers Skye's root abilities.
Thank you, Lincoln, for finally questioning Jiaying's intentions.
Ginger Ninjas™
I know how this episode ends, but Hunter slowly opening doors still makes me nervous.
Kara, do you really think you can outsmart Melinda May?
BOBBI NOOOOOOOO
HAHAHAHA THAT'S YOUR FAULT WARD
It's always small moments of May's expression going really soft that really show you how much she cares about her team. I love that she shows her love for them through her actions, but these small moments are really nice too.
I wanna know more about specialists like May's medical ability as May seemed to tend to Bobbi on the way back to base. Obviously, I feel like CPR is must from all agents, but like, to what extent at Operations were they taught medical treatments?
“I just wanted to hear your voice" MAY AND ANDREW WERE SO SWEET😭
“Do good Melinda, then get home safe." UGGHHHH MY HEART
Bobbi and Hunter's relationship making everyone question their love lives.
Also, I feel for Jemma. I always felt like her wanting to talk to Fitz felt like she was forced to by herself. Like she felt like it was something she had to do since their friendship would never be the same, so might as well try the love thing out. That's just how I felt about it.
Jiaying is such a great character. I constantly feel sorry for what has happened to her and who she eventually became.
“I'm the guy who kills Gordon" YES
Never mind, Jiayings says "Daisy" to Daisy at least one more time.
No-Eyes™
“Hiya Honey"😀
I don't like Jiaying throwing that back at Cal. He is trying to protect Daisy. At this point, he's protecting her from you.
“Trust me, you will miss"
Skye really did hold her own really well against the Ginger Ninjas.
Jiaying actually is right in the situation, but, like she said in 7x10, she went about it all wrong. The inhumans did simply need protection cause the world wasn't ready for them.
First time watching, I knew the moment Jiaying put her hand on Skye's face what was going to happen.
Jiaying calling her children her true gifts, but then turning around and betraying her own daughter.😭
QUAKE THEME (yes, I will say it time everytime it's there)
“We're not bad, we're misled" Another reason they shouldn't need the Index.
That stabbing sound is a heart attack waiting to happen. Was actually scared for Fitz when I watched it the first time.
Also goodbye Coulson's Left Hand™
Again, Johnson Family story is just so sad and heartbreaking. Feel sorry for Daisy, Cal, and Jiaying for everything that has happened to them.
AOS Don't Kill Jiaying By Snapping Her Spine Challenge is clearly a fail.
Prints for Zephyr 1!
I wanna see Bobbi on morphine.
I want someone to watch over me the way SHIELD men watch over their loved ones when they're hurt.
What does Bobbi actually mean when she says "I can't do this anymore"
“Cutting off my hand without asking"
Was Mack being in charge of alien artifacts ever said again after the finale?
YES MAY! YOU TAKE THAT BIKINI WITH YOU! YOU ALSO DESERVE THIS BREAK!
Who had Andrew recruited for the Secret Warriors at this point? File seems big.
“I imagined you perfect, and you're way more interesting than that" Wish my parents thought the same thing about me. I'm just projecting now.
SHIELD should have adopted an agency dog from Cal's practice.
SHE'S DAISY SHE'S DAISY SHE'S DAISY SHE'S DAISY
I love her.
If it's just Daisy, how come the file is big and Andrew said he already had names.
Daisy is worthy of touching and DRIVING Lola!
AND WE'RE ABOUT TO MEET SOME GREAT INHUMANS LIKE JOEY AND ELENA!
BYE SIMMONS! HAVE FUN ON ANOTHER PLANET FOR 4,722 HOURS!
Would just like to mention, Seasons 4 and 7 might be the most enjoyable seasons for me to watch, but season 2 will always have a special place in my heart. Not just cause Daisy is my favorite character, but being Half-Asian myself, seeing a Half-Asian character like Daisy discover herself and really dive deep into her heritage is something that’s just so special to me. I could go on and on how Daisy has made me feel seen and made me want to connect more with my Filipino heritage, but there just aren’t enough words to describe it. Just wanted to leave this here about why I love season 2 so much.
